Opioids are extraordinary agents that have been used for millennia for the relief of pain and suffering; however, the history of opioids is also one of abuse and addiction. In the US, we are in the midst of a devastating iatrogenic chapter in this history, a prescription opioid epidemic that kills 15,000 Americans per year by overdose and destroys hundreds of thousands of lives and families.
In this presentation we will consider the magnitude and consequences of the current epidemic; describe how clinical organizations and clinicians were appropriated by the pharmaceutical industry so that Americans–5% of the world’s population–consume more prescription opioids than the rest of the world combined; and discuss strategies for managing patients who present to emergency departments with acute or chronic pain complaints that account for our competing mandates to palliate and protect.
These strategies center on an assessment of the likelihood that using opioids will deliver benefit or cause harm. For patients at low risk to be harmed by opioids, utilize aggressive multimodal analgesia, including opioids as needed to control acute pain, and prescribe optimal outpatient non-opioid analgesia with a small number of breakthrough opioids if indicated. For patients at high risk to be harmed by opioids, including patients with chronic pain and patients with flags for opioid misuse, avoid using opioids in the ED and outpatient settings, utilize non-opioids to manage symptoms, and, when misuse is suspected, nudge the patient to addiction treatment. The goals of optimal opioid stewardship are to provide effective symptom relief while preventing de novo cases of addiction, to control the supply of opioids in the community, and to protect existing addicts from further harm while promoting recovery.

Joint attention in humans differs from apes, especially on the account that the later are unable to understand the sign language of others. As such, in apes, joint attention is ineffective and when present, it encounters varying challenges, unlike in humans. The effectiveness of joint attention arises on the account that they hold the capability to comprehend the sign language of others, and two individuals are able to share the focus on a certain object with minimal challenges.
The above differences are likely to exits due to their encoding capabilities to the universal language. It is for this reason that while the humans are able to encode the universal system of gestures the apes are unable to do so. As a result, humans are able to understand the sign language of each other while apes are unable. Identify and summarize the purpose of your interview. How will the information you gather be used?
This interview is meant to give the interviewer a chance to apply the formal processes learned in class on how to conduct an interview. It is meant to put the skills of the interviewer to the test on ways of applying the different techniques used in interviewing. The interviewer is supposed to locate a volunteer participant for the procedure and inform him/her that the interview is for role play purposes and not a genuine diagnosis in the hospital. The interviewer should then ask the volunteer some questions about their symptoms they are experiencing; she should then gather related information about these symptoms in the effort of assisting in the diagnosis of the disease the patient is suffering from and in the treatment (Marshal,2013).
The interviewer should then go through her personal beliefs and indicate the ways in which they could impact the interviewing process. After identifying the ways in which the interviewers believe could affect the interview, the interviewer should indicate the different ways to limit the effects of his/her beliefs to the interview.
Explain how you will structure the interview and your reasoning behind the structuring of the interview. Include a list of topics you plan to cover.
To come up with a successful interview, the interview will begin with gathering as much information related to the case as possible. This will help to familiarize the interviewer with all the different angles of the case. Gathering information associated with diseases that have the symptoms of persistent headaches and trouble sleeping will position the interviewer at a better position to bond with the interviewer. An early establishment of a bond between the two parties (interviewer and interviewee) involved will help the interviewee open better to the interviewer. The interviewer will also know the kind of questions to ask to arrive at the crucial information needed for a better chance of diagnosing the disease and help in the treatment. With more knowledge about the symptoms, the interviewer will be in a better position to rule out all the questions and diseases that the interviewee could not have. This will assist to shorten the time taken by the interview (Marshal, 2013).
Knowing all the different facets of the case will help the interviewer avoid possible inappropriate questions. She/he will also know all the worst-case scenario question that he/she should not ask the volunteer or mention to avoid scaring the patient. The interviewer will also be in a better place to offer reassuring messages to the patient while he/she knows of the details of the case.

This paper proposes rules to detect and correct real-word spelling errors in the Setswana language. Real-word errors occur when a misspelled word is still a valid word but does not make sense in the context of the sentence. The paper focuses on commonly confused Setswana words that are valid both separately and combined as one word. Even though some expired meat products may not cause serious health issues, such practice presents great potential threat to public health in those countries.
Jose gathers together the appropriate documents and takes them to his immediate superior, Nancy. Nancy says, "Look, I don't think that sort of thing is your concern, or mine. We're in charge of record-keeping, not making decisions about the product quality. I suggest you drop it."
The next day, Jose decides to go one step further. He makes an appointment and talks to Mike, the CEO of the subsidiary company. Mike is clearly irritated. Mike says, "This isn't your concern. Look, these are the sorts of cost-cutting moves that let a company like ours compete with our global competitors. Besides, everyone knows that the regulations in the US are super cautious and these developing countries are not clearly prohibitive. There's no real danger to anyone who consumes such products. I consider this matter closed."

Looking at the international healthcare environment of today, practitioners face a multitude of ethical issues (Pesut et al. 2019). In context, it is their responsibility to develop a code of conduct and ethics of all participants in organizations and health institutions. There is a need to put this into action and ensure the healthcare environment has integrity in service provision (Pesut et al. 2019).
In this paper, I will discuss Euthanasia as an ethical issue that is prominent at the business level and most in the health sector workplace. As we all know that medical centers aim at saving lives (Pesut et al. 2019). However, in some cases treatment or lack there of could aim to end someone’s life. In most cases, it is referred to as involuntary euthanasia. According to Storer, 2017, author of Euthanasia and the Law, Euthanasia "practice of ending a life to release one from suffering from disease or intolerable suffering." In my point of view, this an issue, and it should be surrounded by strict procedures and laws on how it is used (Storer, 2017).
Theories surrounding these ethical issues in the healthcare outlook are Utilitarianism and Kantian Application ethical theories (Storer, 2017). The methods highlight how it is ethical for someone who is under treatment to terminate his or her life and get relieved from pain through voluntary euthanasia. Which is agreed upon by the patients family to seek physician-assited suicide. In this matter, death is inevitable, and their suffering is in vain (Pesut et al. 2019).
