Lucio Went To Sleep Study Summary
Lucio went to the doctor and shared his history which got him a referral for a sleep study. He did not
remember much about the sleep study results other than he said he had over forty low oxygen levels in
a minute or an hour and the doctor told him if he did that during the day he would need to be on
oxygen. The doctor told him he needed to use a continuous positive airway through the night for the
rest of his life. That is all he remembers from his sleep study and talking with the doctor but still uses
his sleep apnea machine because he does not want to use oxygen throughout the day. At the home
equipment company Lucio got to try a few different masks that he was comfortable with, he choose a
nasal mask but was also sized for a full face

John Scopes Trial Analysis
The Scopes Trial, a Dayton, Tennessee legal case involving the teaching of evolution within the public
school system, induced a pivotal point in American history. This world famous trial represents the
ongoing conflict between science and theology, faith and reason, individual freedom of speech, and
overruling opinion of the majority. The preeminent purpose of the case was to decide not only the fate
of an evolution theory teacher by the name of John Scopes, but also to decide if fundamentalists or
modernists would rule American culture and education. An object of profound publicity, the trial was
identified as a battle between urban modernism and rural fundamentalism.
On January 20, 1925, a Tennessee state senator, John A. Shelton, proposed ... Show more content on

Bryan had disregarded them and explained that he would answer questions only under the
circumstance that he could ask questions as well. Bryan had a lengthy list of inquisitions for Darrow
and supporting evolutionists; essential among these questions, he would demand explanation about the
missing evidence in fossil documentation. According to Bryan, genuine science cannot be proven true
until it is classified by legitimate knowledge, thus supporting his claim that the theory of evolution
cannot be veritable science since it is merely a string of theories and assumptions. Bryan intended to
express this point in his final argument in the trial. More precariously, he accentuated the missing
relations between humans and their supposed arthropod ancestors, because there are no tangible links
between them. Henry Fairfield, President of the American Museum of Natural History, came to Bryan
with so called evidence of horse and human evolution in 1922. In this confrontation with Bryan,
Fairfield explained that evidence for humanistic development as abundant as that of horse evolution
had not yet been discovered, but the very recent discovery of Tertiary man...constitutes the most
convincing answer to Mr. Bryan s call for more evidence. (Larson). Experienced witnesses requested
by Darrow brought this evidence with them to Dayton.
In the week leading up to the trial, hundreds of people and peddlers lined the streets, selling Bibles,
stuffed monkeys, and pins that read Your Old Man s a Monkey . There were even circus performers
with live chimpanzees to entertain children. Many people thought incorrectly that the theory of
evolution claimed that human beings were descended from monkeys; for this reason, the newspapers
and reporters dubbed the Scopes Trial the Monkey

Watchmen, A Comic Book
Watchmen is a revolutionary piece of literature. It is technically a comic book, some prefer to call it a
graphic novel. There is a negative connotation that goes along with that. Graphic novels are frequently
presumed too childish and fantastic to actually teach any insightful lessons or even make you ponder
them at all. Watchmen is a graphic novel that transcends this undue criticism of comic books. It is,
One of the first instances ... of [a] new kind of comic book ... a first phase of development, the

Compare And Contrast Jefferson And Hamilton
Jefferson vs Hamilton Alexander Hamilton had a very organized plan for the development of the
United States government, a federalist that had strong ideas that would help the government achieve a
greater purpose. Which required a solid central government with two main points like interest of
commerce and industry. Being something that wavered in the air at that time that needed to be
corrected to improve the government, so Hamilton figured. Hamilton married into the Schuyler family
who was very rich and was the urban mercantile interests of seaports. Hamilton foundation of Order,

Jefferson had different views and often spoke on rural and southern interests. Believing that it was a
way to make change without having to go as far as the federalist were trying to take it. Basically
taking rights that the people deserved. Jefferson was hell bent on freedom which was a major issue at
that time, but compared to debt it was second to last and or actually last on most lists. The fact that
Jefferson stood up for what he believed in made him and Hamilton alike in a lot of ways. For the
people both stood for. Jefferson was more so casual to some issues that Hamilton had. Certain things
stated in the Constitution he felt would had been taken away if Hamilton enforced his plan. Jefferson
also stood of for the poor. Jefferson also spoke on Hamilton s monetary policies surpassing the rights
that was established in the Constitution. Jefferson knew Hamilton was for the rich instead of the poor.
Jefferson had connections with the French and that was something that Hamilton didn t approve of

The Negative Effects Of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
When a man or a women returns from a combat deployment overseas they come and everyone is
happy to see them, and this has been happening since the war in Iraq and Afghanistan wars started.
But what they don t realize is that that man or woman may not be so happy to be home but they don t
quite understand why. After past wars such as World War I this type of thing was called war fatigue
and they were told they were fine. But this isn t the cause in many men and women returning home
from today s wars. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can result from a number of different traumatic
events, but the intensity and duration of some people s reactions can be quite different but that also has
many factors. The negative effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is affecting families and the
effects it has on families of patients. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder isn t something new that has just
appeared it s something people have been dealing with for as long as we have understood what it
really is. When a father or a mother comes home from war, their children might not understand why
mom or dad is always angry now or why they yell so much, verbal abuse and physical abuse is
something that has become very common in people with PTSD. With this the spouse or loved one may
suffer the same or similar abuse while just trying to care for a loved one not understanding why they
may be this way. Another one of many ways PTSD is affecting family s is the divorce rates have gone

Columbine Film Techniques
Michael Moore is an American documentary filmmaker, who is best known for his line of
controversial documentaries exploring and addressing political and social issues in the US. Moore has
a number of films, including 9/11: Fahrenheit, Sicko and Roger and Me for example. In particular, he
has produced and directed Bowling for Columbine which I will be close viewing for my 3.9 report.
During this film he raises and explores the issue of gun violence in the United States and uses a
variety of techniques to showcase his thinking. In the two excerpts Columbine and Fear of Black Men
, I will be discussing how he uses archival footage (stock footage) and nondiegetic sound to help to
steer his audience into thinking a certain way or to make them feel connected while watching.
Excerpt one Columbine
In my first excerpt Columbine , Michael Moore made sure to keep his audience on edge and feel like
they were in the shoes of those students as they were watching the CCTV footage of the massacre that
happened at Columbine High School, April 20th of 1999. In this excerpt, he uses two effective film
techniques of archival footage (stock footage) and nondiegetic sound. ... Show more content on

Bend It Like Beckham Cultural Essay
Bend it Like Beckham (2002/3) is a romantic comedy written, directed and produced by Gurinder
Chadha, a Kenya born British film maker who grew up India. Director Chadha s films often reflect on
her complex background. Unlike many comedies, Bend it Like Beckham is filled with plenty of
important themes. One of them addresses the importance of cultural integration.
Jesminder Bhamra, like the director, is British Asian. Just like Director Chadha had refused to take
traditional Punjabi dancing lessons and watch Bollywood films as a child, Jesminder unintentionally
rebels when trying to integrate cultures. Jesminder s traditional Sikh parents want her to be good by

Although Jess is aware of her religion, she does not feel strongly about it like traditional Sikhs would.
A scene which shows Jess lack of interest in religion is when she receives her A level results. Her
mother, Mrs Bhamra, is praying to a picture of Guru Nanak founder of Sikhism for Jess results to be
good. A combination of overhead shots and mid shots couples with Jess words, Hurry up, mum, show
that Jess does not really care about her religion. The overhead shots show Mrs Bhamra praying very
sincerely while Jess, behind her mother, looks like she really could not care less. The following mid
shot shows Jess opening the envelope quickly and roughly with a doubtful expression on her face.
This scene shows her awareness but disinterest and disbelief in her religion. Another scene shows that,
even though Jess is aware that traditions are a part her life, she does not agree with them. Her football
team mate asks her how she can stand having to marry who others want her to. The close up shot
immediately next shows her saying, it s just culture with a nonchalant facial expression. The scene
indicates that Jess knows the expectation of her to follow the traditions but may not strongly believe in
those traditions. Her actions indicate that we should not remain separate from the new environment,
but to combine the old and the new.

Bram Stoker s Dracul The New Woman Movement In The...
Bram Stoker acknowledges that the New Woman Movement is threatening to the English society
because the men were losing the control they cherished while the women were struggling with their
new roles, such as having a voice in family matters and working outside the home. Is experiencing the
New Woman movement as frightening as Dracula himself ? The role of the Victorian Woman and her
interactions with men were well defined. There are several examples of this in Stoker s Dracula.
Stoker describes Mina as a woman who any man of this time period would consider an ideal marriage
partner. [Mina] is a hard working assistant school teacher, but there is little question about who will
stay at home and take care of the domestic duties after their wedding (Frost 28). Mina is the
stereotypical Victorian woman set on the Victorian male s pedestal. Although she works outside the
home, it is an unspoken fact she will perform all the duties a wife is expected to. She works on skills,
shorthand and typing, in order to help Jonathon after they wed. Stoker also relates a scene where Van
Helsing, Dr. Seward, Arthur, and Mr. Morris are checking on Mina, who they think has been attacked
by Dracula. The would be rescuers outside Mina s locked door...waste precious time while they debate
the protocol of breaking into a lady s bedchamber (Frost 30). Although the men are frightened for
Mina s sake, they still find it inappropriate to enter a lady s bedroom. Protocol tells them they should

Is Paul A Good Writer
Is Paul a good writer? is a very interesting question. When we say good writer are we talking about his
skills in the language he used to write (Greek) or are we asking the question if his writings made any
difference in people s lives during his time as well our time. Basing on what we know about Paul s
education with or during the time of Gamaliel in Jerusalem 1 one can argue Paul well educated to
write. Paul s pastoral ministry resulted in planting the churches and equipping leaders for the ministry
in his time and continues to guide us in our current ministry. Therefore, I can say with confidence Paul
indeed is a good writer. However, we still have to consider some facts scholars have been working
hard to bring to our attention. Traditionally, the church had simply assumed that any letter containing
Paul s name as a sender was actually written by him. Of the 27 books in the New Testament, 14 have
been attributed to Paul; 7 of these are widely considered authentic and Paul s own, while the
authorship of the other 7 is disputed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A practice in ancient times called pseudonymity, from the Greek words pseudēs (false) and onoma

However, we wonder, why would an early believer write in Paul s name? For two basic reasons: (1) to
gain immediate credibility for one s thoughts and document; and (2) to update Paul for a new time and
situation, so that Paul s themes and basic theological commitments could address new people and new

Approaches to Inclusion
1 Introduction In this report the researcher aims to demonstrate a critical understanding of the
principle that early years settings should provide for the needs of all children, including those with
sensory and learning needs, gifted children, and children from remote and nomadic populations,
children from linguistic, ethnic or religious minorities and children from other disadvantaged or
marginalised areas or groups. For the purpose of this report, the researcher will use the term Children
with Special Educational Needs to refer to the above groups. The researcher will provide a critical
awareness on how theoretical models have changed ways of thinking about inclusive practice and the
implications of this on legislation and policy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All educational policies, says the Framework, should stipulate that disabled children attend the
neighbourhood school, that would be attended if the child did not have a disability. (UNESCO, 1994.,
p.24) There is seemingly little doubt that the catalyst for inclusion within the English system lies in
the sentiments outlined in the Salamanca Statement. As Hornby, (2002)., asserts, The statement has
resulted in what, at times, appears to be a tidal wave of inclusion intent preached with overpowering
zeal by the church of inclusion. (p.7) It is observable, though, that despite this missionary zeal the
implementation of inclusionary practices, within the English system, began slowly. Although some
might argue that the last Conservative government, through the Code of Practice (DFE, 1994),
encouraged children with special educational needs to join fully with their peers in the curriculum and
the life of the setting (p.11), others contended that: the code only addressed identification and
standardisation in an attempt to end the vagueness of special educational needs, previously delivered
through a postcode lottery of provision. (Clough, 1998. p.2) 2.3 Theoretical Models It is commonly
accepted that there are two contrasting models or views of disability currently present within modern

The Movement Of Protest Movement Essay
The Movement of Protest
1) It was a decade of extremes, of transformational change and bizarre contrasts: flower children and
assassins, idealism and alienation, rebellion and backlash. For many in the massive post World War II
baby boom generation, it was both the best of times and the worst of times. (K. Walsh)
a. Historians nostalgically described the sixties as a counterculture and revolution in social norms,
such as: art, sexuality, formalities, and philosophy. The decade was also called the Swinging Sixties

b. One can blatantly observe this in the art of the time; especially when referring to feminism in dance.
i. Examples relating to modern dance.
c. Thesis: Exploring dance as a form of female protest, rebellion and counterculture in the 1960s.
2) A deeper look at cultural context and influences of countercultural.
i. Historical events that set up trends of counterculture.
1. Baby boomers experienced the Space Race, nuclear threats, antiwar movement, civil rights
movement and the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
2. The events of such as the Cold War and the civil rights movement encouraged women to rethink the

Form Follows Function Essay
Louis Henry Sullivan was the architect that created and promoted the paramount precept to 19th
century architectural design, form follows function. The idea behind the design philosophy was that,
structural and aesthetic considerations should be entirely subject to functionality it was met with both
approval and scepticism. (Boundless, 2017) Modern architecture is commonly defined by its
simplification of form. Early modern architecture began in the 20th century, with attempts to integrate,
the principles underlying architectural design with rapid technological advancement and the
modernization of society. (Boundless, 2017)

(Architect.architecture.sk, 2017) A Function needs a form in order to complete its objective. A form
without its function is just a good looking design on a piece of paper. Once a designer understands the
function of the piece, the additional parameters and the limitations created by the function, the
designer can then construct a form that supports the function, whilst acknowledging the principles of
design. The idea that form follows function is an original idea that is applied to architecture that states
that the shape of a structure is governed by its function. Indeed, until recently, form follows function
was practiced in the work of modern architecture, but soon began being applied to the design of
products that we use in our everyday lives, industrial design. In What is Form Follows Function, John
Spacey writes that, The principle is considered the driving principle of modern architecture and is
often applied in other areas of design such as product design. (Spacey, 2017) The design philosophy
that form follows function is evident and supported in both modernist architecture, The Wainwright
Building, designed by Louis Henry Sullivan himself and 20th century design, The

Imagine you can t have sexual intimacy with your partner. Or, not in the way you d prefer. Before
2003, Texas had sodomy laws. These laws, in Texas, prevented specifically same sex couples from
engaging in sexual intercourse. In 2003, based on a call about a weapons disturbance, police officers
entered John Lawrence s apartment, where they found him and Tyron Garner engaged in sexual
intercourse. This went against the Sodomy Laws. They were brought to court, and eventually the case
was brought to Supreme Court; where Paul M. Smith argued that this law, this denial of privacy in a
way, was unconstitutional. It went against both the eighth and the fourteenth amendment. In the case

Great Wall Of China Essay
The largest project in the world is the Great Wall of China. The Great Wall of China is the longest wall
the in the world. The Long Wall has a long history more than 2,300 years. It was built in different
areas by different states/dynasties to protect different territorial borders. It stretches about 1,500 miles
from Bo Hai off the Yellow Sea in the East to the Gansu province in the West and it also took over 10
years to build. (Kelly). The wall was very long it reached over 4 places. The wall dates from the Ming
dynasty (1368 1644) and runs for some 5,500 miles east to west from Mount Hu near Dandong,
southeastern Liaoning province, to Jiayu Pass west of Jiuquan, northwestern Gansu province ( Great
Wall of China ). It is believed to be the largest graveyard in history because bones of the workers that
died during construction were buried along with the material to build the wall. The wall served to
mark the boundary between the agricultural civilization of China and the civilization of the nomadic
tribes of the north and northwest ( Architecture ). The Great Wall of China was very important
especially the architecture, why did they build the wall and the battles. To begin, the architecture took
over 10 years to build. The workers were soldiers, peasants, and rebels it also took a lot of blood,

The Growth And Success Of Canadian Airline Westjet Essay
Roger Solis MNGT 370 Dr. Dilek Yunlu WestJet Case Analysis Introduction This article discusses the
growth and success of Canadian airline WestJet. The company was established in 1994 by Clive
Beddoes who stumbled upon an opportunity to collaborate with fellow businessmen: Tim Morgan,
Don Bell, and Mark Hill to create a cost effective and very profitable airline in western Canada.
Together they achieved a concept of an airline that would be low fare but rich in culture to maintain its
integrity. With the help of David Needleman, president of Morris Air, the team developed a business
plan and visualized what is now WestJet Airlines. They built an integrative, financial model and
business plan which included only three aircraft and features of being: direct, cost effective, and short
haul. Within 30 days of constructing a business plan the needed capital was raised and the foundation
for WestJet airlines kicked off. In 1995 WestJet was established and began rapidly integrating into
eastern Canada. Problem WestJet s quick success posed an issue because even though it was centered
on culture eventually its concept would fail; the airline was growing very quickly and that could only
mean that it would be difficult to maintain the intimate focus while staying extremely profitable.
Critical Analysis In 1999 many changes occurred within the Canadian market of aviation. There was
merging between successful and struggling airlines, and even airlines that failed relatively

Cultural and Regional Support Bitzi will enjoy support throughout the vast majority of the state.
Specifically the Panhandle, North Central, the Hill Country, East and, in particular, her home region of
West Texas much like Rick Perry did back in 2010. (Stiles, 2010) All areas are Republican heavy
albeit with a few outposts of Democratic heavy counties scattered about. Also like Perry her weakness
will be the areas along the border, major metropolitan centers of San Antonio, Houston, Dallas and
traditionally Travis County. (Stiles, 2010) Studies have been done that show Texas falls somewhere in
the middle of traditionalistic and individualistic political cultures. Historically, as Texas was a slave
holding state and a member of the Confederacy, it s political culture was planted firmly in
traditionalism. However, Texas with it s strong pro business orientation getting larger every year tends
to blend individualism with it s original culture of traditionalism. (Newell, Prindle, Riddlesperger,

Persuasive Essay On Latching
Introduction
Breastfeeding can be challenging, especially during the first few weeks after childbirth. It is normal to
have some problems when you start to breastfeed your new baby, even if you have breastfed before.
This document provides some solutions to the most common breastfeeding challenges.
Many common challenges are caused by poor latching. Latching refers to when your baby s mouth
attaches to your nipple to breastfeed.
How do I make sure that my baby is latched and positioned properly?
Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down, with your neck and back well supported.
Place a pillow or rolled up blanket under your baby to bring him or her to the level of your breast (if
you are seated).

Nipple pain.
Cracked or sore nipples
Cracked or sore nipples are often caused by inadequate latching. Soreness can also happen if your
baby is not positioned properly at your breast.
What is the solution?
Make sure your baby is latched and positioned correctly.
To help your breasts stay moisturized and healthy:
Avoid using soap on your nipples.
Wear a supportive bra. Avoid wearing underwire style bras or tight bras.
After each feeding, air dry your nipples for 3 4 minutes.
Use only cotton bra pads to absorb breast milk leakage. Be sure to change the pads if they become
soaked with milk.
Use lanolin, olive oil, or coconut oil on your nipples after nursing. If you use pure lanolin, you do not
need to wash it off before feeding your baby again. Pure lanolin is not poisonous (toxic) to your baby.
Use your hand to squeeze out (express) a few drops of breast milk, gently massage the milk into your
nipples, and let your nipple air dry.
When should I contact my health care provider?
If you have nipple pain, cracking, or soreness that lasts longer than 1 week, contact your health care
provider or lactation consultant. Nipple cracking and soreness are common during the first week after
birth, but nipple pain is never normal.
Breast engorgement
Breast engorgement is the overfilling of your breasts with breast milk. This can make your breasts
throb and feel hard, tightly stretched,

The Standard Of Quality, Achievement, And Discipline

behaving that shows a willingness to obey rules or orders Looking back to the birth of our Nation and
actions at Valley Forge in 1778, it is readily apparent that our Revolutionary Forces were little more
than civilians fighting against a highly disciplined British Army. General Washington s men had
endured many hardships and losses at the hands of the British. General Washington recognized the
need for a more disciplined force in order to defeat the British and enlisted the aid of Baron Friedrich
von Steuben. Von Steuben wrote drill movements and regulations at night and taught them the
following day. In writing, he clearly outlined the standards which governed the movements regarding
company drill. In his teaching the very next day, he instilled discipline by training the men to respond
without hesitation. The history of standards and discipline and the relationship with The Army
Profession were forever joined in the first Army Field Manual The Regulations for the Order and
Discipline of the Troops of the United States , which we now refer to as the Blue Book . As The Army

will be paramount. The ability of the NCO Corps to quickly digest new doctrinal manuals and terms

neighbourhood. Analysis: In this passage, Quentin and his friend, Ben are trying to call a girl by a
slang term candy coated honeybunny. This passage can be offensive to a girl and is inappropriate for
age group. Author includes this passage so he can show the attitude of that time towards the girls.

Casavilla. All the house in Casavilla are Spanish style with red tile roofs and everything, only they

in Florida. Big, ugly homes for big, ugly people . #47 Situation: This dialogue is by Quentin, he says
this to Margo while they were passing near Casavilla and then Quentin says to stop the car to Margo
in Casavilla. Analysis: By saying big and ugly to people and about spanish tradition, we can say that
Quentin is racist. By saying, Spanish style homes with red tile roof and later saying Big, ugly homes
for big, ugly people . I think author has this paragraph by him, so we can know how he thinks about
rich people and about other tradition. Entry 5: Passage: You d better be calling me to say that there are
eleven naked honey bunnies in your house, and that they re asking for the Special Feeling that only
Big Daddy Ben can provide. Situation: Quentin is with Margo and they are trying to call Radar but he
wasn t the one who Quentin was looking for. Then Quentin knew that calling Ben would work and he
calls Ben and he picks up the phone after calling him five times. Analysis: Here we can see that Ben
responds to Quentin in a funny way because he was irritated by Quentin calling him five times.

The Effectiveness Of Racial Profiling
Imagine you get shot because of your skin color. Your skin color that you can t change. For that reason
you get killed or discriminated. Racial profiling is a practice that some law enforcement use when it
comes to someone being suspicious because of their race, ethnicity and religion. In 2004, 32 million
people reported that they were unfairly singled out by law enforcement because of their race,
according to a new Amnesty International report (Goyette). One example of racial profiling is when
9/11 happened, Muslims have been more likely to be questioned more in airports. Historically
speaking, racial profiling has been around since the 1700 s in the United States and it still a problem
because innocent people are being targeted based on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Racial profiling is already illegal in some states because it goes against the the US constitution when it
promises equal protection under the law. But that doesn t stop them from doing it. There has been
steps that have been taken by some police departments to try to eliminate racial profiling. For
example, the Berkeley police department put out a policy on reducing racial profiling and training the
cops and different procedures to limit racial profiling. Also in San Diego, they enacted a way to limit
racial profiling by putting in cameras so they can video record cops communicating with the people
who got pulled over. Another way people see as a solution is to hire more female law enforcement.
Hiring more female law enforcement will help because they are less likely to use force against
someone and they when that happens, they re departments cost less because they don t get sued. A
study done by the National Center for Women in policing states that The average male officer is two to
three times more likely than the average female officer to have a citizen name him in a complaint of
excessive force. (Lonsway 2). The fact is saying that the average male officer is more likely to use
force and have a complaint than the average

Essay on Monsters Inc
Monsters Inc. is an incredible animated movie (by Pixar Studios, 2001, and directed by Pete Doctor)
about monsters working in a scare factory. Proudly, the scare factory a pillar in the community is a
workplace in a monster world where monsters scare children. Through a high tech system, doors are
brought to the factory that, if activated, allows the monsters to enter the child s room through the
youngster s closet. The scream produced by the child creates energy for the monster world, so that
monsters can do everyday things, such as quickly turning on a light or vacuuming the carpet.
However, this is not an easy job because children are extremely toxic to monsters (who tremble when
a child is near), and are also becoming increasingly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and practitioners about the suitable balance between academics and profession.
Hospitality management vocational degree programs aim at satisfying a common need in the industry

Monologue Of The Legend Of Alice
Proverbs 11:13
A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret. In the year 1560, in England
lived two girls and they were cousins. Their names are Lady Rose Woodly and Lady Alice Woodly.
They were both daughters of a wealthy Duke and Duchess. Rose was kindhearted, beautiful inside and
out, and smart. Alice was not so kind, she was self centered, and although she was smart she spent
most of her time pretending to be clueless just to annoy people.
Alice
On a Sunday I came over to Rose s castle for Sunday brunch in the garden. When I was on her way to
the garden she overheard Rose s father talking about a problem because of they were harboring the
bandits in their dungeon called, Ruthless Bandits. I always harbored a grudge against Rose for being
so good and kind. But finally I saw an to make a total fool out of Rose by just bending the truth about
this...a lot. Before the Duke could see me, I continued walking towards the sanctuary in the garden
where Rose and I had all of their Sunday brunches at. Rose As I watched Alice get in her carriage to

Good And Evil In The Film Merlin
The film Merlin (1998), produced by Hallmark Home Entertainment and directed by Steve Baron,
based on an Arthurian myth explores the role of good and evil, the idea of equality and gender roles in
their society. Myths have been told since human society had formed, teaching people important
lessons and morals. Myths communicate everything from what is ethically right to lessons and morals
that prevent regrettable mistakes. Through the film seen from Merlin s perspective, it will be evident
that such complex myths can, when broken down, teach such important lessons and morals.
Good and evil in Merlin is somewhat vague; it is difficult to know who is good and who is evil. Not
everything is black and white, and you cannot simply decide who is good and evil. In Merlin the ...

war with Lord Lot and when the two sides meet, King Arthur sorts out the war by going to Lord Lot

Lord Lot does not kill King Arthur and admits to King Arthur being the true king. King Arthur gathers
his men around him in a circle and says that each man in the circle is equal to the other (shown in a
long shot zooming into a medium shot). When King Arthur finds out that Queen Guinevere had
betrayed him with Sir Lancelot, he is forced to sentence her to treason. Queen Guinevere was about to
die from burning, but King Arthur changed his mind and told Merlin to cast a spell to put the fire out.
Queen Guinevere was saved but Arthur lost his men because of stopping the execution of Queen
Guinevere, and King Arthur s idea of equality is corrupted because he gave one man more power than

Divorce: a personal life changing experience
With this ring I thee wed.... For better or worse, for richer or poorer.... Traditionally, two people speak
these words on their wedding day, the day that two become one, the day that two people begin a life
together and share an unbreakable union. This may be so in some cases but not all. Divorce among
Americans is rampant. In society today divorces are as common as marriages themselves. Couples
meet, date, fall in love, marry, and have children and then one day: Wham! Something is just not right
with the relationship anymore, so they opt for the easy way out, the big D . They get a divorce, is this

My mother could never let anything rest she loved to argue. It didn t matter if it was money, family,
jealousy, or the color of the clouds in the sky that particular day; she just loved to bitch. Then one day
my dad had enough and he left. Let me go back up and say that my dad was not perfect by any means.
He was a hard worker and a good provider and he loved my mother and us. But he also allowed my
mother to always be in control of the household, the finances and the discipline. My mother resented
him for this and when things went wrong she wanted to blame him for his lack of input. Anyway, the
day my dad moved out was a day of mixed emotions, I felt like the largest weight in the world had
been lifted off of my shoulders and at the same time the sadness that I felt was just weighing me back
down. I was so glad my dad was finally going to take a stand and stop the arguing but I was so sad
that he was going to have to leave to do it.
I blame my dad for taking the easy way out and I blame my mom for allowing it. I blame society as a
whole for commercializing divorce on a level that allows parents to choose it as if it were the only
option. Because of these things this is how I have spent the last twenty years of my life, seeking the
easiest way out of tough situation and blaming myself for things that were beyond my control.
People who are not from broken homes or do not have first hand experience with divorce have no idea
what it does to a child.

Wrigley Case

Case Study 1 The William Wrigley Jr. Company: Capital Structure, Valuation, and Cost of Capital
Group: 4 4
ABSTRACT
This report examines the impact a $3 billion bond issue will have on the value of the William Wrigley
Jr. Company. When analysing its various impacts, the expectations that arise as a result of the
leveraged recapitalisation include an increase in the share price amp; cost of capital and reduced
earnings per share. In essence, the potential benefits of a $3 billion bond issue are outweighed by the
costs. Other potential impacts were considered and it was expected that the debt issue would lead to an
increased agency cost of debt while voting control was not expected to change. The signal of ... Show

In comparison the share price after the share repurchase scheme was projected to be $77.87 (appendix
2). This represents an increase of 38.14% and this option would offer the greatest upside and superior
return when looking only at the benefits of investment for Wrigley s shareholders. 3.2 IMPACT ON
WEIGHTED AVERAGE COST OF CAPITAL (WACC)
WACC is the rate used to discount future cash flows of a firm to their present value. By minimising
WACC firms are able to increase the value of the firm. For debt to affect value, there have to be
tangible benefits and costs associated with using debt instead of equity. If the benefits exceed the
costs, there will be a gain in value to equity investors from the use of debt. If the benefits are less than
the costs, increasing debt will lower value (Myers, 2001). Following a $3 billion leveraged
recapitalisation, the investment grade of Wrigley decreases from AAA to BB/B and consequently the
cost of debt increases to 13% (see appendix 9) which is greater than the post capitalisation cost of
equity of 9.84% (see appendix 8). It is for this reason that the WACC increases from 9.24% to 9.49%
(see appendices 5 10) which results in a reduction in firm value. 3.3 IMPACT ON EARNINGS PER
SHARE
Profit is often expressed as Earnings per Share (EPS) and is calculated as operating income divided by
total amount of common shares (Ross, Westerfield, Jordan, Thompson, amp; Christensen, 2007, p.
51). EPS has two

A Research Study On The 24 August 1958
On the 24 July 1958 Tijlka (Thea) Van De Kuyt arrived in Fremantle, Australia with her mother,
father, younger brother and two younger sisters. As Nonja Peter states Australian immigration has
always been driven by the need to attract enough labour for the developing economy and recruitment
policy, procedures and bi lateral agreements, continue to heed this imperative. World War 2 caused a
massive shift in migration to Australia, where many families and young individuals came to Australia
looking for a better life and an opportunity to find employment where they could not in their home
country. Through the case study of Thea Dukic in relation to wider migration in the mid to late 1950s
we will see that there was still a stigma of white ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the passenger manifests Thea s family is listed as going to camp accommodation when they
arrived in the country, this camp being Bonegilla. Bonegilla was a very common migrant camp during
the time that Thea migrated to Australia, opened by the Immigration Department in 1947 Bonegilla
aimed to develop the labour deficiencies of Australia post war but its major purpose was to house non
british migrants , throughout its life as a migration camp Bonegilla saw more than three thousand
people pass through until its closure in 1971. From here Thea stayed at the Maribyrnong Immigration
Detention Centre and then moved to St Albans where she has lived and worked since she was 17.
The nineteen fifties in Australia features such as mass immigration and full employment continue to
shape contemporary Australia. In the case of immigration, the decade marked the beginnings of a slow
transition from a defensively White Australia to a multicultural nation but White Australia was not
completely degraded yet. Settling in Australia was not always the easiest thing to do as a migrant, as
Thea points out, she

The Berlin Boxing Club By Robert Sharenow
For the last outside reading book, I chose to read The Berlin Boxing Club by Robert Sharenow. The
original reason I chose it was because the author is actually my uncle. Turns out it was a great choice
as I greatly enjoyed reading this novel. The book is from the perspective of Jewish a teenage boy and
his family during the 1930s in Nazi Germany. I gained new perspective on the culture in germany
during world war two through the eyes of a teenager. I would definitely recommend this book to the
history department to be added to the curriculum. The main reason for this recommendation is that
students will be able to learn about the culture in Germany right before World War II from the
perspective of someone their age. This will give students a more entertaining look at the history
around World War II and will make learning about it much easier. I recommend this book specifically
to a freshman or sophomore history class. The protagonist in the story is a teenage boy named Karl
that many freshman and sophomore students could identify with. He goes through many of the same
challenges that many younger teenager go through. He struggles fitting in socially at school and has
girl problems. This novel was very easy to read and did not have too much difficult vocab. The book is
also fast pace, which makes reading it particularly smooth. The students will also be able to really see
what it was like to live in Nazi germany in the 30s from the perspective of someone their age. The

Free Will In Short Stories Of Sarah Jewett And Kate Chopin
Free Will in Short Stories of Sarah Jewett and Kate Chopin
Free will is an important feature of modern person s life. It is a philosophical term of art for a
particular sort of capacity of rational agents to choose a course of action from among various
alternatives ( Free Will ). In other words, free will allows person to make a choice regardless of
specific surrounding circumstances. Different systems of philosophy have controversial attitude to this
term. Depending on affiliation with certain school, experts admit or reject the thought of existence of a
free will. But, regardless of philosophical judgments, people often admit an importance of the
possibility to make independent decisions and administer own life. Free will gives person an
opportunity to decide in favor of long term, more global purposes; and this choice can expose
immediate perspectives to a risk. This particular situation was described by Sarah Orne Jewett in her
short story A White Heron. A possibility of free will sometimes became a vital feature; Kate Chopin
showed a literal reflection of this statement in her story The Story of an Hour. The author
demonstrated what catastrophic consequences can cause an unexpected loss of desired free will.
A White Heron speaks about little girl Sylvia who lives with her grandmother in a lonely house deep
in the woods. The old woman took her granddaughter from the city, where the child lived with her
siblings in mother s house. It looked like Sylvia had problems with

He did not remember much about the sleep study results other than he said he had over forty low oxygen levels in a minute or an hour and the doctor told him if he did that during the day he would need to be on oxygen. The doctor told him he needed to use a continuous positive airway through the night for the rest of his life. That is all he remembers from his sleep study and talking with the doctor but still uses his sleep apnea machine because he does not want to use oxygen throughout the day. At the home equipment company Lucio got to try a few different masks that he was comfortable with, he choose a nasal mask but was also sized for a full face ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. John Scopes Trial Analysis The Scopes Trial, a Dayton, Tennessee legal case involving the teaching of evolution within the public school system, induced a pivotal point in American history. This world famous trial represents the ongoing conflict between science and theology, faith and reason, individual freedom of speech, and overruling opinion of the majority. The preeminent purpose of the case was to decide not only the fate of an evolution theory teacher by the name of John Scopes, but also to decide if fundamentalists or modernists would rule American culture and education. An object of profound publicity, the trial was identified as a battle between urban modernism and rural fundamentalism. On January 20, 1925, a Tennessee state senator, John A. Shelton, proposed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bryan had disregarded them and explained that he would answer questions only under the circumstance that he could ask questions as well. Bryan had a lengthy list of inquisitions for Darrow and supporting evolutionists; essential among these questions, he would demand explanation about the missing evidence in fossil documentation. According to Bryan, genuine science cannot be proven true until it is classified by legitimate knowledge, thus supporting his claim that the theory of evolution cannot be veritable science since it is merely a string of theories and assumptions. Bryan intended to express this point in his final argument in the trial. More precariously, he accentuated the missing relations between humans and their supposed arthropod ancestors, because there are no tangible links between them. Henry Fairfield, President of the American Museum of Natural History, came to Bryan with so called evidence of horse and human evolution in 1922. In this confrontation with Bryan, Fairfield explained that evidence for humanistic development as abundant as that of horse evolution had not yet been discovered, but the very recent discovery of Tertiary man...constitutes the most convincing answer to Mr. Bryan s call for more evidence. (Larson). Experienced witnesses requested by Darrow brought this evidence with them to Dayton. In the week leading up to the trial, hundreds of people and peddlers lined the streets, selling Bibles, stuffed monkeys, and pins that read Your Old Man s a Monkey . There were even circus performers with live chimpanzees to entertain children. Many people thought incorrectly that the theory of evolution claimed that human beings were descended from monkeys; for this reason, the newspapers and reporters dubbed the Scopes Trial the Monkey ... There is a negative connotation that goes along with that. He didn t become Rorschach until later in his crime fighting career. Walter was forever changed after investigating a gruesome case, in which a little girl was kidnapped, murdered, and fed to the perpetrator s dogs. After solving the case, Rorschach comments, It is not God who kills the children. Not fate that butchers them or destiny that feeds them to the dogs. It s us. Only us. Streets stank of fire. The void breathed hard on my heart, turning its illusions to ice, shattering them. Was reborn then, free to scrawl own design on this morally blank world. Was Rorschach. Compare And Contrast Jefferson And Hamilton Jefferson vs Hamilton Alexander Hamilton had a very organized plan for the development of the United States government, a federalist that had strong ideas that would help the government achieve a greater purpose. Being something that wavered in the air at that time that needed to be corrected to improve the government, so Hamilton figured. The fact that Jefferson stood up for what he believed in made him and Hamilton alike in a lot of ways. For the people both stood for. Jefferson was more so casual to some issues that Hamilton had. Certain things stated in the Constitution he felt would had been taken away if Hamilton enforced his plan. Jefferson also stood of for the poor. Bram Stoker acknowledges that the New Woman Movement is threatening to the English society because the men were losing the control they cherished while the women were struggling with their new roles, such as having a voice in family matters and working outside the home. Is experiencing the New Woman movement as frightening as Dracula himself ? The role of the Victorian Woman and her interactions with men were well defined. There are several examples of this in Stoker s Dracula. Stoker describes Mina as a woman who any man of this time period would consider an ideal marriage partner. [Mina] is a hard working assistant school teacher, but there is little question about who will stay at home and take care of the domestic duties after their wedding (Frost 28). Mina is the stereotypical Victorian woman set on the Victorian male s pedestal. Although she works outside the home, it is an unspoken fact she will perform all the duties a wife is expected to. She works on skills, shorthand and typing, in order to help Jonathon after they wed. Stoker also relates a scene where Van Helsing, Dr. Seward, Arthur, and Mr. Morris are checking on Mina, who they think has been attacked by Dracula. • 11. Is Paul A Good Writer Is Paul a good writer? is a very interesting question. When we say good writer are we talking about his skills in the language he used to write (Greek) or are we asking the question if his writings made any difference in people s lives during his time as well our time. Basing on what we know about Paul s education with or during the time of Gamaliel in Jerusalem 1 one can argue Paul well educated to write. Paul s pastoral ministry resulted in planting the churches and equipping leaders for the ministry in his time and continues to guide us in our current ministry. Therefore, I can say with confidence Paul indeed is a good writer. However, we still have to consider some facts scholars have been working hard to bring to our attention. Traditionally, the church had simply assumed that any letter containing Paul s name as a sender was actually written by him. Of the 27 books in the New Testament, 14 have been attributed to Paul; 7 of these are widely considered authentic and Paul s own, while the authorship of the other 7 is disputed. ... All educational policies, says the Framework, should stipulate that disabled children attend the neighbourhood school, that would be attended if the child did not have a disability. (UNESCO, 1994., p.24) There is seemingly little doubt that the catalyst for inclusion within the English system lies in the sentiments outlined in the Salamanca Statement. As Hornby, (2002)., asserts, The statement has resulted in what, at times, appears to be a tidal wave of inclusion intent preached with overpowering zeal by the church of inclusion. (p.7) It is observable, though, that despite this missionary zeal the implementation of inclusionary practices, within the English system, began slowly. Although some might argue that the last Conservative government, through the Code of Practice (DFE, 1994), encouraged children with special educational needs to join fully with their peers in the curriculum and the life of the setting (p.11), others contended that: the code only addressed identification and standardisation in an attempt to end the vagueness of special educational needs, previously delivered through a postcode lottery of provision. The idea behind the design philosophy was that, structural and aesthetic considerations should be entirely subject to functionality it was met with both approval and scepticism. (Boundless, 2017) Modern architecture is commonly defined by its simplification of form. (Architect.architecture.sk, 2017) A Function needs a form in order to complete its objective. A form without its function is just a good looking design on a piece of paper. Once a designer understands the function of the piece, the additional parameters and the limitations created by the function, the designer can then construct a form that supports the function, whilst acknowledging the principles of design. The idea that form follows function is an original idea that is applied to architecture that states that the shape of a structure is governed by its function. Indeed, until recently, form follows function was practiced in the work of modern architecture, but soon began being applied to the design of products that we use in our everyday lives, industrial design. In What is Form Follows Function, John Spacey writes that, The principle is considered the driving principle of modern architecture and is often applied in other areas of design such as product design. The Growth And Success Of Canadian Airline Westjet Essay Roger Solis MNGT 370 Dr. Dilek Yunlu WestJet Case Analysis Introduction This article discusses the growth and success of Canadian airline WestJet. The company was established in 1994 by Clive Beddoes who stumbled upon an opportunity to collaborate with fellow businessmen: Tim Morgan, Don Bell, and Mark Hill to create a cost effective and very profitable airline in western Canada. Together they achieved a concept of an airline that would be low fare but rich in culture to maintain its integrity. With the help of David Needleman, president of Morris Air, the team developed a business plan and visualized what is now WestJet Airlines. They built an integrative, financial model and business plan which included only three aircraft and features of being: direct, cost effective, and short haul. Within 30 days of constructing a business plan the needed capital was raised and the foundation for WestJet airlines kicked off. In 1995 WestJet was established and began rapidly integrating into eastern Canada. Problem WestJet s quick success posed an issue because even though it was centered on culture eventually its concept would fail; the airline was growing very quickly and that could only mean that it would be difficult to maintain the intimate focus while staying extremely profitable. How do I make sure that my baby is latched and positioned properly? Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down, with your neck and back well supported. Soreness can also happen if your baby is not positioned properly at your breast. What is the solution? Make sure your baby is latched and positioned correctly. To help your breasts stay moisturized and healthy: Avoid using soap on your nipples. Wear a supportive bra. Avoid wearing underwire style bras or tight bras. After each feeding, air dry your nipples for 3 4 minutes. Use only cotton bra pads to absorb breast milk leakage. Be sure to change the pads if they become soaked with milk. Use lanolin, olive oil, or coconut oil on your nipples after nursing. If you use pure lanolin, you do not need to wash it off before feeding your baby again. Pure lanolin is not poisonous (toxic) to your baby. Use your hand to squeeze out (express) a few drops of breast milk, gently massage the milk into your nipples, and let your nipple air dry. When should I contact my health care provider? If you have nipple pain, cracking, or soreness that lasts longer than 1 week, contact your health care provider or lactation consultant. Muilenburg 1standard noun ˈstan dərd : a level of quality, achievement, etc., that is considered acceptable or desirable 1discipline noun ˈdi sə plən : a way of behaving that shows a willingness to obey rules or orders Looking back to the birth of our Nation and actions at Valley Forge in 1778, it is readily apparent that our Revolutionary Forces were little more than civilians fighting against a highly disciplined British Army. General Washington s men had endured many hardships and losses at the hands of the British. General Washington recognized the need for a more disciplined force in order to defeat the British and enlisted the aid of Baron Friedrich von Steuben. Von Steuben wrote drill movements and regulations at night and taught them the following day. In writing, he clearly outlined the standards which governed the movements regarding company drill. In his teaching the very next day, he instilled discipline by training the men to respond without hesitation. The history of standards and discipline and the relationship with The Army Profession were forever joined in the first Army Field Manual The Regulations for the Order and Discipline of the Troops of the United States , which we now refer to as the Blue Book . This represents an increase of 38.14% and this option would offer the greatest upside and superior return when looking only at the benefits of investment for Wrigley s shareholders. 3.2 IMPACT ON WEIGHTED AVERAGE COST OF CAPITAL (WACC) WACC is the rate used to discount future cash flows of a firm to their present value. By minimising WACC firms are able to increase the value of the firm. For debt to affect value, there have to be tangible benefits and costs associated with using debt instead of equity. If the benefits exceed the costs, there will be a gain in value to equity investors from the use of debt. If the benefits are less than the costs, increasing debt will lower value (Myers, 2001). Following a $3 billion leveraged recapitalisation, the investment grade of Wrigley decreases from AAA to BB/B and consequently the cost of debt increases to 13% (see appendix 9) which is greater than the post capitalisation cost of equity of 9.84% (see appendix 8). It is for this reason that the WACC increases from 9.24% to 9.49% (see appendices 5 10) which results in a reduction in firm value. 3.3 IMPACT ON EARNINGS PER SHARE Profit is often expressed as Earnings per Share (EPS) and is calculated as operating income divided by total amount of common shares (Ross, Westerfield, Jordan, Thompson, amp; Christensen, 2007, p. 51). I gained new perspective on the culture in germany during world war two through the eyes of a teenager. I would definitely recommend this book to the history department to be added to the curriculum. The main reason for this recommendation is that students will be able to learn about the culture in Germany right before World War II from the perspective of someone their age. This will give students a more entertaining look at the history around World War II and will make learning about it much easier. It is a philosophical term of art for a particular sort of capacity of rational agents to choose a course of action from among various alternatives ( Free Will ). In other words, free will allows person to make a choice regardless of specific surrounding circumstances. Different systems of philosophy have controversial attitude to this term. Depending on affiliation with certain school, experts admit or reject the thought of existence of a free will. But, regardless of philosophical judgments, people often admit an importance of the possibility to make independent decisions and administer own life. Free will gives person an opportunity to decide in favor of long term, more global purposes; and this choice can expose immediate perspectives to a risk. This particular situation was described by Sarah Orne Jewett in her short story A White Heron. A possibility of free will sometimes became a vital feature; Kate Chopin showed a literal reflection of this statement in her story The Story of an Hour.
