INTRODUCTION
Automobiles are the major contributors for pollution, which
causes dangerous effects to human beings and animals.
EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION technology is for controlling the
environmental pollution.
It plays a major role in preventing the air pollution.
 This system reduces dangerous exhaust gases coming from
automobiles and these emissions are controlled by EXHAUST
GAS RECIRCULATION.

MERITS AND DEMERITS
MERITS:
 Emissions are controlled at greater level.
 Low maintenance.
 No need of skilled mechanics to repair this system.
 Can be upgradable to BS-6.
DEMERITS:
 Not suitable for petrol engines under some conditions.
 Only for heavy duty diesel engines.
 Initial cost is high.
 No decrease in sound pollution.
CONCLUSION
 By using EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION in engines, the
emissions are very much controlled due to lower amount
of Nox entering into atmosphere.
 This method is very reliable in terms of fuel
consumption.
