Interprofessional Collaboration Essay
In the era of globalization, interdisciplinary teamwork and interprofessional collaboration has been
strongly encouraged in healthcare practices, especially for those situations requiring emergency
treatment. In this paper, the author discussed the potential ethical consequences and recommendations
of including currently popular virtual/computer based simulation as a medical educational tool for
formal nurse and physician education programs.
For the purpose of imitating the real emergency situations, the technical ability of simulation has been
continuously upgraded by advanced computer programming or by artificially standardized human
behavior. The computer assisted mannequins are even able to communicate , talk and provide various
reactions and interactions by using predetermined language and settings. However, despite that
sophisticated high tech programming brings convenience during the course of learning, practice and
performance evaluation, the author points out that such normative approach cannot be qualified as any
paradigm for real practice since preprogrammed language cannot predict real human thoughts and
behaviors.
The author emphasizes the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A White Heron Essay
In unit four grits and grandeur, we studied poems and excerpts that widely revolved around place.
With any story they are all inspired by when and where the event happens, how the characters react
and how they feel, and the people they are with. The story that stuck out to me the most was a white
heron by Sarah Orne Jewett because of her loyalty to the animals and the forest and how she grew
while she was in the forest and it became a huge part of her and her life. The three main qualities that
stuck out to me was the forest, her growth as a person, and her connection and loyalty to the animals.
In A White Heron the forest was a huge part of the setting and the theme and a lot of the story
revolved around this setting. The author states the old pine must have loved this new dependant. More
than all the hawks, and bats, and moths, and even the sweet voiced thrushes, was the brave, beating
heart of a solitary gray eyed child J(jewett 8). This quote shows how the girl In the story, the girl? saw

In A White Heron the author states in the story ..she cannot tell the heron s secret and give its life

Burnett in A Secret Garden says i ve wondered if he could keep a secret... (burnett 204). This quote is
showing that Mary is trying to make sure that the secret is kept a secret and she knows she needs to be
very careful about who she shares this information with just like with sylvia she needed to keep that
secret. My final quality that really stuck out to me was Sylvia s connection and loyalty to the forest

The Death Of A Manicurist
Death of a Manicurist When the time comes for a woman, or even a male, to get their nails done, it is
not typical to think about the impact on the workers. The lives of the technicians are deeply impacted
by their jobs and how dangerous the chemicals are they surround themselves with every day. Sarah
Maslin Nir s article Perfect Nails, Poisoned Workers from the New York Times, an article from
Scientific American by Dine Fine Maron, and The United States Department of Labor gives many
reasons why nail salons need to start protecting their staff. Workers suffer through painful losses and
many health problems; some of the medical problems are life threatening. The issues caused the
chemicals used and the health problems caused seem to be a lot for how long the products last. The
first major medical problem for salon workers are miscarriages and children having problems once
they are born. The chemicals from the products used can affect the baby months before it is due.
Maslin Nir interviewed a woman named Ms. Rocano, and she recounts what her doctor had told her:
When babies are forming in your womb, they absorb everything, and if they are exposed to anything,
it can cause them harm, (Maslin Nir 208). One chemical that is believed to specifically cause these
problems is Dibutyl Phthalate, which, in small amounts, is used in nail polishes and polish hardener.
Another chemical that can affect a woman s pregnancy is Ethyl methacrylate also known as EMA,
which is known to

Analysis of Chapters 1 through 8 of Great Expectations
Plot and Setting The plot starts out with a little boy name Phillip Pirrip. It is a first person narrative
about a boy back in the nineteenth century. The first eight chapters deal mostly with Pip s childhood
years. It also deals with who Pip is, and his family. In the beginning of the story Pip introduces
himself, and introduces his dead parents. He is in the graveyard, and then a scary looking man comes
up. The man threatens him. The plot of the story I think is good because it deals a lot with the
struggles in a child. He has no one to turn to. The author really helped us relate to the story.
Pip gets in trouble at Christmas time. He gets hit with The Tickler ... Show more content on

Miss Havisham secretly wants Estella to break Pip s heart. She is a very obscure lady. Biddy is a
character that cares very much for Pip. She understands Pip more than Pip does. Pip doesn t like
Biddy, because she is to common. She is the better girl though.
Personal Response So far I really enjoy the book. Charles Dickens really pulls me into the book. He
uses great figurative language that makes you feel sorry for a character. The people in this book seem
so innocent and harmless. Well, except the guy that threatened Pip. They all also seem to live hard
lives. They don t have all the benefits that we have today. They have to scrounge around for stuff we
never would have to scrounge around for. What is really neat about it, is that they get an enjoyment
out of life. They are not well off either. I can t wait to read on further into Charles Dickens novel.
Vocabulary So far in this novel there is no vocabulary that really comes to mind. I though I would use
this section to talk about figurative language. Charles Dickens uses a lot of figurative language. He
says that when Pip goes up into his room, he is in the dark. Literally that means he does not have a
candle, so therefore he is in the dark. Figuratively we can interpret it in many ways. One way is to say
that Pip isn t a very smart kid. He is and ignorant person. When someone says that someone is in the
dark, they usually mean that they are naïve. Later on in the story, Pip

Sounding the Seventh Trumpet and Waking the Fallen
In mid 2001, it was reported that former bassist Justin Sane had attempted suicide by drinking
excessive amounts of cough syrup. The attempt had an impact on the band s Take Action Tour. After
lead guitarist Synyster Gates joined the band, at the end of 1999 when he was 18, the introductory
track To End the Rapture was re recorded featuring a full band element. The album was subsequently
re released on Hopeless Records in 2002. The band started to receive recognition, performing with
bands such as Mushroomhead and Shadows Fall and playing on the Take Action Tour.
Having found a new bassist, Johnny Christ, the group released their second studio album titled
Waking the Fallen on Hopeless Records in August 2003. The album featured a more refined and
mature sound production in comparison to their previous album. The band received profiles in
Billboard and The Boston Globe, and played in the Vans Warped Tour. In 2004, Avenged Sevenfold
toured again on the Vans Warped Tour and recorded a video for their song Unholy Confessions which
went into rotation on MTV2 s Headbanger s Ball. Shortly after the release of Waking the Fallen,
Avenged Sevenfold left Hopeless Records and were signed to Warner Bros. Records.

Potato Osmosis Lab Report
I was able to determine which solution corresponded to which molarity by my knowledge of how
water osmosis from high concentrations of water to low concentrations of water. I determined solution
D to be the lowest molarity of 0.0 moles because the potatoes that were immersed in this solution had
the highest average percent increase in mass of 23.08%. Since there is a small amount of sugar in the
potato cores and the potato cores gained a large amount of mass, that must mean that there was a
higher concentration of water or a hypotonic solution outside the potato cores because the water
osmosed from high water concentration into low water concentration. Since the potato cores gained
the most mass, it must mean that there was the greatest amount ... Show more content on

The solution outside the cores must have been hypertonic and inside must have been hypotonic,
causing the water to osmose out of the cores. I knew there must have been more sucrose than solution
A because there decrease was greater, meaning that the outside solution was more hypertonic, causing
more water to need to leave the core to create an isotonic environment. I determined that solution E
contained 0.8 moles of sucrose because the cores immersed in it had the next largest decrease in mass.
This shows that the solution must have been even more concentrated or hypertonic causing more
water to leave to create an isotonic environment. I determined that solution B contained the largest
amount of sucrose with 1.0 moles. This was because the cores immersed in it had the largest decrease,
which means that the solution outside of the core must have been the most hypertonic which means it
must have had the most amount of sucrose. I knew this because the most water left these potato cores
which means that the solution outside must have been the most hypertonic and needing the most water
to make it isotonic to the inside of the cores which contain a lot of

Ovid s The Story of Daedalus and Icarus
In Ovid s The Story of Daedalus and Icarus , Ovid uses characterization to make the characters
realistic and vivid and to reveal plot through the characters actions, thoughts, speech and physical
appearance. Without the characterization of Daedalus and Icarus, understanding The Story of
Daedalus and Icarus completely is not possible. Ovid hides important pieces of the plot in the text, and
wants the readers to reveal the true meaning of the story by looking into the characteristics of the main
characters, Daedalus and Icarus. With the view of their wants and responsibilities, the story becomes
clear to the reader and the purpose of this story in a poem is revealed. Characterization is an author s

From this story, Daedalus can be characterized as brilliant, ignorant, irrational, and egotistical. When
characterizing Icarus, Daedalus son, one of the best parts that describes Icarus is when his father is
making the wings. And Icarus, his son, stood by and watched him, Not knowing he was dealing with
his downfall, Stood by and watched, and raised his shiny face To let a feather, light as down, fall on it,
Or stuck his thumb into the yellow wax, Fooling around, the way a boy will, always (Ovid 14 20).
With this quote, it shows Icarus immaturity, foolish and playfulness when it comes to his father s
inventions and his life. Icarus is a young boy which is evident from the quote above because he is
playing with the wax and watching and admiring his dad. If it was an older boy, he d probably be off
by himself or helping his father with his inventions instead of playing with the wax in the wings.
Icarus is an innocent boy who doesn t understand the importance of being responsible. Not being
responsible leads him to his death, which could have been avoided if he had paid attention to what his
father had told him. Icarus got swept up in the moment when he was flying, and lost all of his thoughts
which lead him to the mistake of flying too high. And the boy Thought This is wonderful! And left his
father, Soared higher, higher,

Montana 1948 Abusing Power
Montana 1948 by Larry Watson is a novel set during the time of post Second World War in the rural
town of Bentrock located in Mercer County, Montana USA. There are a series of events that occur
which demonstrate how abusing power can result in catastrophic consequences which affect both
individuals and communities. Characters Frank, Julian, Wes, and the whole white community abused
their capabilities which resulted in negative outcomes. Local doctor Frank Hayden is one of the many
people in the Bentrock community to overstep his power and mistreat it. By sexually abusing a

has had lesser consequences but they are still significant in the novel. Wes is responsible for the Frank

going to treat his brother the same as any other criminal that he d pass in his job. Instead of jailing
Frank in the town jail, Wes finds his own basement as the most suitable option. In practicality,

1 Clone Detection
When the software are created, many times the codes are simply copy pasted, with small changes.
This is called cloning. Investigating these copy pasted sections of source codes is called Clone
Detection. It was discovered that about 10 15% of the code in a software system was copy pasted[1]
For refac toring, or at least noting. Clone detection techniques try to nd cloned codes. Techniques
for detecting clones may include programming language speci c parsing to simple text based analysis.
Parsing code technique have an advantage as they are semantically aware which allows them to detect
similarities between the structures of di erent code segments where the dif ference between naming
of variables and parameters is too much. The latter, on the other hand, can be used over a broad
variety of material as they aren t language speci c.

language sensitive parsing and text based analysis.
It works in three stages Parsing, Normalization and comparison. The rst stage involves parsing the

Service Management Introduction It is considered that the most critical thing for a company is to
effectively and efficiently deliver the service to the customers. It does really matter which industry the
organization is operating in, the features of services have be taken very seriously and in addition to
that, customers have to be satisfied in order for the organization to grow. It has been argued by
numerous scholars that the primary need of the customers in the modern business world is to have a

The concept of the service is considered to be the mutual understanding between the received nature
of the nature and the provided nature of the service by the organization. In addition to that, it should
also be able to summarize the information regarding the idea of the organization, the experience of the
service, the outcome of the service and the operation of the service as well as the value of the service
which is given below. When a customer goes out and generally considers the things around while
doing routine work, it is likely to be attracted by the experience that it receives with the service
provided by the organization. This is a motivating factor for the customer and is likely to attract the
customer if applied well. In addition to that, it is an important thing to note that under the examples of
a customer going for a walk in the park, its experience of the service would include services which are
fun and lively for all the age groups, there is a variety of attractions, the queues for the major rides,
entertaining and exhilarating, easiness and the time taken to buy the required ticket. Apart from that,
the operation of the service would include a massive car parking area, good signage to the park, clear

we analyze closely, the lives of these ladies represent the reality of the pass.
For example in Chopin s short story, A Pair of Silk Stocking, Mrs. Sommers is a wife and mother
struggling with the inequality in the society. She tries to live by the community principle, where she
has to be a selfless person. That is the way women were suppose to act. Their children and husband
were the priority. Their needs and desires weren t taken in consideration. Mrs. Sommers felt like she
had no value. At a certain point of her life, she received an enormous amount of money. As a mother,
she plans to spend the cash on her family. Instead, Mrs. Sommers indulges herself with material such
as shoes and gloves. All of this brought her a feeling of importance such as she had not enjoyed for

Even if these short stories are published in different time, the development of the main character is
similar. They go trough the comparable problem. The men in their lives put them down. In the life of
Kari, her father and her husband abandon her. Indeed, her father doesn t show up to her wedding.
These actions bring sadness to this young lady. She [feels] lonely and afraid. Later, Kari s husband
cheats on her, which is really unfortunate. These men mistreat her. They don t take this woman in

Mrs. Sommers and Elisa didn t have in their time. It is necessary to note that Kari is a character

Cyberbullying Is Not A Victimless Crime
Cyberbullying is Not a Victimless Crime About a month into summer vacation, I was on the phone
with another friend. Suddenly, notifications popped up on my phone, from a random person saying,
Eww, everyone in this picture is pretty except for you, kill yourself, and other horrible things. When
looking into solutions and consequences, I found nothing that could help me, and I felt alone. Teens
and even adults are becoming bullies behind computer screens with nobody and no rules to stop them.
However, when addressing cyberbullying it is important to understand what it is, how it affect the
person being bullied, what laws are there pertaining to both bullying and cyberbullying in the U.S,
why people believe cyberbullying should not have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The laws pertaining to bullying are numerous, which is wonderful; however, the laws pertaining to
cyber bullying are not as numbered. In Justin Patchins research in 2016 he states that out of the fifty
states and Washington DC only sixteen states and district have off campus laws for cyberbullying or
online harassment and school sanction. There have been many federal cases that allows schools to
discipline students for off campus behavior that results in a substantial disruption of the learning
environment at school (Patchin). The courts have also left it to the state governments too meaning that
All states have various criminal laws that might apply to bullying behaviors, depending on the nature
of the act... All states also have criminal harassment and/or stalking statutes, and most include explicit
reference to electronic forms. In certain states, the bullying law specifies provisions allowing the
school to discipline students... In every state besides Montana, the bullying law requires schools to
have a formal policy to help to identify the behavior and discuss the possible formal or informal
disciplinary responses... Some laws require certain elements to be included in the policy, and others
require policy without specification (Patchin). The policies for cyberbullying in many states are
developing, but they are not universal, especially with the question on cases of campus

Important Aspects of Human Identity Essay
There are many aspects that are apart of developing a person s identity and sense of who they are. We
are fully responsible for the outcome of our life according to Sarte. There are no excuses in life and we
are responsible for our successes and for our failures. Whether we choose to sit back and wait for
whatever to happen around us or take action and try to go out and make the changes you want in your
life, you are responsible for all the lows and the highs. Our values are formed from the decisions we
make, which help us form our identity. The decisions you make in life have an impact on you re
happiness. This can be through making a difference in the world or finding love or having a successful
career.

Williams acted out on her rage but in a positive way, making a change for her and others. Later her
story was published in the paper. Williams s actions helped form her identity and give the sense that
she is a strong woman with strong beliefs. There are other things that can form your identity as well
such as falling in love.
Thomas Merton claims Love is, in fact, an intensification of life, a completeness, a fullness, a
wholeness of life (214, Merton). Love gives us more of a sense of meaning of life. Love defines who
we are and we find the true meaning of life through the happiness of being with someone else. As
Sarte says, it is our responsibility to define ourselves and to make choices that make us happy. Being
in love can transform our entire life and bring us to happiness that we never knew was impossible. I
think that Sarte and Merton would agree to take responsibility and go out and find love. Creating your
own identity is what it means to be human.
Having the responsibility of our own existence is a blessing and a curse because it can bring us to
despair. The reasoning for despair is because of the idea that we have subjectivity and that nothing is
objective or absolute. There is no absolute right or wrong and no ultimate judgment. This is a scary
idea because that means that there is no God. The only way to discover our own values is make a
decision. We only have the power to change things that

Valerie Merz, marketing manager for IntensCare, was feeling enormous pressure as she reviewed the

Walmart Negative Impact
Negative Impact of Wal Mart When Wal Mart comes to town, the local economic framework is
immediately thrown into turmoil (Wolff Mann). Almost all Wal Mart stores crush nearby communities
and local businesses. Wal Mart stores effect everyone; senior to youngsters, high end stores to low end
stores, and grocery stores to pharmacies. Wal Mart has a major impact on the community s economy
and the overall economy. The stores even have a negative impact on their employee s as well because
they give them bad benefits and low wages. Ethan Wolff Mann states that the low prices made
possible by the massive economies of scale of the giant retailer trample many small and regional
businesses. When Wal Mart comes to town the local businesses have a hard time to make profit due to
Wal Mart cutting prices of items. Whenever, the local business cut price Wal Mart cuts the price to

Individual Diffferences
Describe and evaluate the ways in which environmental factors can impact on the development of an
individual s personality and intelligence.
The discussion in this essay entails the extent to which environmental factors impact an individual s
development of personality and intelligence. Development can be defined as improvement in function
which would imply that it occurs with the progression of age. Personality has been found to have a
substantial genetic influence however economic and social factors have been found to effect the
development of personality traits such as stereotypes. On the other hand, the development of an
individual s intelligence has much supporting evidence stating that environmental factors such as
education have a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, a person who would be described as an extravert who has lively trait may experience
extreme poverty leading to changes in their character therefore new traits may be portrayed in their
personality.
Behavioural genetics explains the development of personality and intelligence by emphasising the role
of genes in guiding our behaviour in a particular context or environment. In today society, children
within an institution may score differently on assessments, even when the teaching provided is the
same. This questions if intelligence is innate. Other factors such as health, family circumstances,
access to technology, wealth should also be considered. Research suggest that if we were to provide
all members of a population with an environment that is uniform in regards to intelligence, then
estimates of genetic influences would increase (Brody 1992). Biological explanations show that
differences in the male and female brain suggest differences in intelligence between the sexes.
However, generalising that intelligence is based on the structures of the brain would be an over
simplification and attitudes to learning and environmental influences would give a better
understanding.
Intelligence is not simply ones IQ result but can be referred to an individual s intellectual functioning
(APA 2013). Environmental factors affecting intelligence are many such as nutrition, education and
the environment lived in as well as having an effect on religion,

Comparing Women In Streetcar Named Desire And Death Of A...
The Street Car Named Desire and Death of a Salesmen both have central themes that center around
the main characters of the plays revealing both playwright s unrealistic expectations of women. The
characters of the plays struggle with being their own downfall. There are also the same place in which
we can see the characters struggle. The role of Stella and Linda are both very traditional women in
that the play they the p lay the stay at home wife. Stella, In the Street Car Named Desire is loyal to her
husband. Same as in Death of a Sales Linda is very shy and conservative around her husband.
However, this can really be seen due to the type of sentence structure and tone that is used when either
character is talking to their better half. Due to both Miller and Williams being men they depict the
women to act what a man would imagine a perfect wife would be. So, both of the playwright s
characters are not realistic but a fantasy and not an actual portray of women. In the play bot Linda and
Stella are only introduced to stand by their husbands. Both characters seem to only be present for
supporting their spouses by doing all the house chores as well as shielding them from harm. Both,
characters seem to be blinded blind by their husband s imperfections, ... Show more content on

Essay about Transformation of Homewood West Community
Homewood West is located on the eastern side of Pittsburgh and is one of the three neighborhoods that
make up the Homewood community, along with Homewood North and Homewood South.
Homewood West was once a thriving neighborhood with an abundance of upper class families and an
economy that depended heavily on the city s railroad system, that made economic opportunities
readily available and housing that was affordable and convenient (Allegheny County DHS 2010).
African Americans were the first to inhabit Homewood, However many whites moved into the
neighborhood, causing tension within the community, during a time period where racism was still a
major factor in society. According to the Allegheny DHS (2010), by 1910, Homewood s population ...

Now, Homewood West has a total population of 818 people, which has steadily declined since the
1950 s (U.S. Census 2010). This transformation has had some major effects on this neighborhood,
making economic opportunities hard to find. A lack of quality education, and high crime rates have
caused businesses to leave the area, creating vacant buildings and broken down homes, lowering the
value of properties and the hopes of bringing businesses back to the community. Residents in
Homewood are affected by all these things and have the community at a standstill, looking for ways to
fix them.
Demographics and Crime
My first perception of Homewood made me a little nervous about the idea of going into a
neighborhood with such a high crime rate, especially being a kid from a suburban area with mostly
white middle class families. Going into a neighborhood that was 95.6 percent black was definitely out
of my comfort zone (U.S. Census 2010). My perception of Homewood quickly changed however,
once I started to talk to people there. To my surprise, many were well educated and very welcoming,
and ambitious people, striving to make the community better. Many of them noted the issues in the
neighborhood, and stated that they had a lot of work to do but they made me leave Homewood West
with hope.
As I started my journey into Homewood, I made my way down Franktown Avenue past the YWCA I
started to see differences from the city and why a lot of residents are struggling to make

The Martian Chronicles By Ray Bradbury
August 2026: There Will Come Soft Rains is a short story taken from the book The Martian
Chronicles written by Ray Bradbury in 1950. The setting of the story takes place in Allendale,
California in August of 2026, where a futuristic house is programmed to wake up the McClellan
family and make them breakfast and tend to their everyday needs and wants. The house goes through a
routine previously programmed for it along with any other spontaneous requirements from the family.
On one of the outside side panels of the house are the charred silhouettes of the McClellan family. The
house goes on with its routine even when the family is no longer present until it is ultimately
destroyed by a fire. The house in way follows the steps the humans did as they both caused their own
destruction. Ray Bradbury uses a reality of advanced technology, such as nuclear weapons and what
effects they possibly could have, as the main contributing factor in the message he portrays in this
short story. Bradbury incorporates personification, juxtaposition, imagery, diction, and irony to
reinforce his message that humans crave for advanced technology and this will ultimately be the
reason behind their destruction. As there are no physical human characters in this short story, Ray
Bradbury uses personification to give the house a lively persona. The narrating voice for the story
describes the houses actions through personification hot water whirled them down a metal throat
which digested and

Evaluating The Performance Of Organic Solar Cell ( Osc )...
The main and most important index of evaluating the performance of organic solar cell (OSC) is the
power conversion efficiency (PCE), η. It is based on three other parameters, they are open circuit
voltage Voc, short circuit current density Jsc, and fill factor FF.
The power conversion efficiency is evaluated with respect to standard reporting conditions (SRC)
defined by temperature, spectral irradiance, and total irradiance. 23 The SRC for rating the
performance of terrestrial PV cells are the following: 1000 W∙m 2 irradiance, AM 1.5 (AM: air mass)
global reference spectrum, and 25 °C cell temperature. 24 28 The PCE (η) of a PV cell is given as30
Where Pmax is the measured peak power of the cell, A is the effective device area, and Etot is the total
incident irradiance. For equation (1) to give a unique efficiency, Etot must be given with respect to a
reference spectral irradiance. The current reference spectrum adopted by the international terrestrial
photovoltaics community is given in international electrotechnical commission (IEC) Standard 60904
3 and American society for testing and materials (ASTM) Standard G173.28, 29
As a simplification of equation (1), PCE can also be calculated by the following equation, η=
(V_oc×J_sc×FF)/P_in (2) of which,Voc represent for open circuit voltage, Jsc means short circuit
current density, and FF means fill factor. Pin is the input energy, typically radiated by the sun.

My First Broken Heart Of Love
It is true love can become atrocious and unbearable. It happens too many times than it should happen.
I have experienced the beauty of love and also the tragic of love. I was barely a teenager and I thought
I was in love with this boy. His name was Noah. I should emphasize on the past tense was because it s
apart of the tragedy. Noah and I were best friends for two years. We met each other in 7th grade. He
had moved to Maryland from Texas with his father, step mother, step brother, and dog. Our
relationship bloomed like a gorgeous rose then withered and eventually died. I was barely a teenager
and I experienced my first broken heart. Love sucks.
At first, when I saw the new kid in my math class, I thought that he would have a hard time fitting it.
The first thing anyone would notice about this kid was how incredibly thin he was. He was severely
underweight and looked very anorexic. The second thing you would notice about this kid is his
protruding front teeth. His front teeth and comical ears made him looked like a rat. I knew this kid
would get picked on immediately. Unfortunately, it did happen, by an overweight kid. The overweight
name was Garrett. Surprisingly, Noah and Garrett became friends. Since Garrett was friends with one
of my friends, he introduced Noah to our group of friends. That s how our relationship started. Noah
was also in my gym class along with math. We were always partners in gym because we were not
athletic. We officially became friends when we

Why Don t We Complain By William F. Buckley Jr
Who Can Complain As human beings we strive for more. The ultimate goal is to live a luxurious life
and accomplish the goals we set out for ourselves. Sometimes a person has to be grateful for what they
have, and just allow faith to run its course. There is a saying in my country, if you have everything you
want in life, and everything goes your way, you will die . What I mean by this is, once a person as
accomplished all their life goals, there is nothing left in life to fight for. Above all the material wealth
one could wish for, the most important thing is respect. In Why Don t We Complain by William F.
Buckley JR, Buckley really found the lack of respect and the lack of consideration some people have,
for him, intolerable. Compared to The Fourth of July by Audre Lorde, her parents did not contradict
any of life s circumstances, because they couldn t complain. Complaining would have made the matter
worse. Looking at these two essays I realize that complaining about something you feel is unfair is not
good, but there are certain complaints which are more serious than others.
Surprisingly, Why Don t We Complain and The Fourth of July both had problems with the train
system. A person would expect Audre s family to complain more about the trains; instead it was
William who mentions how uncomfortable he felt in that situation. In the Audre essay she mentions
how they could not dine in the diner car, meanwhile William was complaining about how hot the train
was. He was

Bullying In The Real World
Imagine that you are in school, walking down the hallway and see a bunch of guys bullying and
harassing another kid. Do you go defend the kid or do you stay a bystander like all the other people

bullying, but it s just making the problem worse. People need to how to speak up from bullies, and
how to speak up for others who are being bullied. A reason why bullying still happens is because the
person who gets bullied doesn t tell anyone because they are too scared about what the bully would do
to them if the find out, or they think that they cannot get help from anyone else. The bullies think it
will make them popular or they do it to make them feel superior to other students. Another reason it
still happens is because people who witness bullying happening never tell anyone they re just by
standers. In the age of technology a new form of bullying has arisen, cyberbullying, where people can
bully other and keep their identities a secret. They do it either for fun or many of the main reasons

Analysis Of Anthem, By Ayn Rand
Is dystopian fiction, unremittingly bleak, leaving no room for hope, or is it a positive warning to
persuade us to speculate about the world that mankind has created.
On the surface, dystopian fiction is a bleak, depressing genre that offers a detailed and destructive
presentation of the very worst of social alternative , but in actuality it is a means of speculation that
reveals to the audience the real threats in society. It extrapolates contemporary socio political trends
taken into extremes , which compels its audience to re examine the values of their society, resulting in
an optimistic tale that gives the audience hope to escape their pessimistic future. Anthem by Ayn Rand
(1937) is a detailed portrait of a collectivist society overstated for the purpose of satire and
storytelling. As a politically conscious writer, Rand writes to communicate to her audience her
political perception into the destructive psychology of collectivism. This exposes the audience to the
risks of conformity, along with providing means to avoid this dystopian imagination crystallising into
reality.
Dystopias are a hyperbolic view of a familiar society s values, and assert that total control is harmful
to the individual. Anthem is a grim future Rand envisioned after experiencing first hand the impacts of
a brutal Stalinist rule . It was influenced by general socio political trend of increasing signs of
collectivism and oligarchy developing into more recent politics during the early 20th

Woods Descriptive Writing
The woods were inexplicably silent and mysterious, and the feeling was accentuated by the faint, gray
light diffused by the cloud canopy above. The wet looking blacks and browns of the tree trunks and
the occasional spot of muted rusty red or weak green from old fallen leaves stood out sharply against
the purity of the freshly fallen snow cover. Only a single set of hoofprints could be seen, off on a
nearly obliterated woodland trail. They were already beginning to be covered by the flakes falling
from the tired gray sky as Emma brought Birdie, the chestnut mare, to a halt at the edge of the foul
road. This is terribly sloppy going, she said aloud, with a deprecating glance at her mud spotted dress.

it was ten times more difficult to navigate and ten times more dangerous. Then it happened. In a fever

on the reins and urged her horse forward with her legs. Birdie half reared, tripped, then blindly bolted
straight into a thicket. The reins snapped out of Emma s hands and one of her feet slipped out of the

thoroughly panicked horse crashed right through the thicket and galloped down the path. Already

  • 2. Interprofessional Collaboration Essay In the era of globalization, interdisciplinary teamwork and interprofessional collaboration has been strongly encouraged in healthcare practices, especially for those situations requiring emergency treatment. In this paper, the author discussed the potential ethical consequences and recommendations of including currently popular virtual/computer based simulation as a medical educational tool for formal nurse and physician education programs. For the purpose of imitating the real emergency situations, the technical ability of simulation has been continuously upgraded by advanced computer programming or by artificially standardized human behavior. The computer assisted mannequins are even able to communicate , talk and provide various reactions and interactions by using predetermined language and settings. However, despite that sophisticated high tech programming brings convenience during the course of learning, practice and performance evaluation, the author points out that such normative approach cannot be qualified as any paradigm for real practice since preprogrammed language cannot predict real human thoughts and behaviors. The author emphasizes the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. A White Heron Essay In unit four grits and grandeur, we studied poems and excerpts that widely revolved around place. With any story they are all inspired by when and where the event happens, how the characters react and how they feel, and the people they are with. The story that stuck out to me the most was a white heron by Sarah Orne Jewett because of her loyalty to the animals and the forest and how she grew while she was in the forest and it became a huge part of her and her life. The three main qualities that stuck out to me was the forest, her growth as a person, and her connection and loyalty to the animals. In A White Heron the forest was a huge part of the setting and the theme and a lot of the story revolved around this setting. The author states the old pine must have loved this new dependant. More than all the hawks, and bats, and moths, and even the sweet voiced thrushes, was the brave, beating heart of a solitary gray eyed child J(jewett 8). This quote shows how the girl In the story, the girl? saw the forest and how she saw them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In A White Heron the author states in the story ..she cannot tell the heron s secret and give its life away (Jewett 10). Frances Burnett in A Secret Garden says i ve wondered if he could keep a secret... (burnett 204). This quote is showing that Mary is trying to make sure that the secret is kept a secret and she knows she needs to be very careful about who she shares this information with just like with sylvia she needed to keep that secret. • 4. The Death Of A Manicurist Death of a Manicurist When the time comes for a woman, or even a male, to get their nails done, it is not typical to think about the impact on the workers. The lives of the technicians are deeply impacted by their jobs and how dangerous the chemicals are they surround themselves with every day. Sarah Maslin Nir s article Perfect Nails, Poisoned Workers from the New York Times, an article from Scientific American by Dine Fine Maron, and The United States Department of Labor gives many reasons why nail salons need to start protecting their staff. Workers suffer through painful losses and many health problems; some of the medical problems are life threatening. The issues caused the chemicals used and the health problems caused seem to be a lot for how long the products last. The first major medical problem for salon workers are miscarriages and children having problems once they are born. The chemicals from the products used can affect the baby months before it is due. Maslin Nir interviewed a woman named Ms. Rocano, and she recounts what her doctor had told her: When babies are forming in your womb, they absorb everything, and if they are exposed to anything, it can cause them harm, (Maslin Nir 208). One chemical that is believed to specifically cause these problems is Dibutyl Phthalate, which, in small amounts, is used in nail polishes and polish hardener. Another chemical that can affect a woman s pregnancy is Ethyl methacrylate also known as EMA, which is known to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay about Analysis of Chapters 1 through 8 of Great... Analysis of Chapters 1 through 8 of Great Expectations Plot and Setting The plot starts out with a little boy name Phillip Pirrip. It is a first person narrative about a boy back in the nineteenth century. The first eight chapters deal mostly with Pip s childhood years. It also deals with who Pip is, and his family. In the beginning of the story Pip introduces himself, and introduces his dead parents. He is in the graveyard, and then a scary looking man comes up. The man threatens him. The plot of the story I think is good because it deals a lot with the struggles in a child. He has no one to turn to. The author really helped us relate to the story. Pip gets in trouble at Christmas time. He gets hit with The Tickler ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Miss Havisham secretly wants Estella to break Pip s heart. She is a very obscure lady. Biddy is a character that cares very much for Pip. She understands Pip more than Pip does. Pip doesn t like Biddy, because she is to common. She is the better girl though. Personal Response So far I really enjoy the book. Charles Dickens really pulls me into the book. He uses great figurative language that makes you feel sorry for a character. The people in this book seem so innocent and harmless. Well, except the guy that threatened Pip. They all also seem to live hard lives. They don t have all the benefits that we have today. They have to scrounge around for stuff we never would have to scrounge around for. What is really neat about it, is that they get an enjoyment out of life. They are not well off either. I can t wait to read on further into Charles Dickens novel. Vocabulary So far in this novel there is no vocabulary that really comes to mind. I though I would use this section to talk about figurative language. Charles Dickens uses a lot of figurative language. He says that when Pip goes up into his room, he is in the dark. Literally that means he does not have a candle, so therefore he is in the dark. Figuratively we can interpret it in many ways. One way is to say that Pip isn t a very smart kid. He is and ignorant person. When someone says that someone is in the dark, they usually mean that they are naïve. Later on in the story, Pip ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Potato Osmosis Lab Report I was able to determine which solution corresponded to which molarity by my knowledge of how water osmosis from high concentrations of water to low concentrations of water. I determined solution D to be the lowest molarity of 0.0 moles because the potatoes that were immersed in this solution had the highest average percent increase in mass of 23.08%. Since there is a small amount of sugar in the potato cores and the potato cores gained a large amount of mass, that must mean that there was a higher concentration of water or a hypotonic solution outside the potato cores because the water osmosed from high water concentration into low water concentration. Since the potato cores gained the most mass, it must mean that there was the greatest amount ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The solution outside the cores must have been hypertonic and inside must have been hypotonic, causing the water to osmose out of the cores. I knew there must have been more sucrose than solution A because there decrease was greater, meaning that the outside solution was more hypertonic, causing more water to need to leave the core to create an isotonic environment. I determined that solution E contained 0.8 moles of sucrose because the cores immersed in it had the next largest decrease in mass. This shows that the solution must have been even more concentrated or hypertonic causing more water to leave to create an isotonic environment. I determined that solution B contained the largest amount of sucrose with 1.0 moles. This was because the cores immersed in it had the largest decrease, which means that the solution outside of the core must have been the most hypertonic which means it must have had the most amount of sucrose. I knew this because the most water left these potato cores which means that the solution outside must have been the most hypertonic and needing the most water to make it isotonic to the inside of the cores which contain a lot of ... Without the characterization of Daedalus and Icarus, understanding The Story of Daedalus and Icarus completely is not possible. Ovid hides important pieces of the plot in the text, and wants the readers to reveal the true meaning of the story by looking into the characteristics of the main characters, Daedalus and Icarus. From this story, Daedalus can be characterized as brilliant, ignorant, irrational, and egotistical. When characterizing Icarus, Daedalus son, one of the best parts that describes Icarus is when his father is making the wings. And Icarus, his son, stood by and watched him, Not knowing he was dealing with his downfall, Stood by and watched, and raised his shiny face To let a feather, light as down, fall on it, Or stuck his thumb into the yellow wax, Fooling around, the way a boy will, always (Ovid 14 20). With this quote, it shows Icarus immaturity, foolish and playfulness when it comes to his father s inventions and his life. Icarus is a young boy which is evident from the quote above because he is playing with the wax and watching and admiring his dad. If it was an older boy, he d probably be off by himself or helping his father with his inventions instead of playing with the wax in the wings. Icarus is an innocent boy who doesn t understand the importance of being responsible. Not being responsible leads him to his death, which could have been avoided if he had paid attention to what his father had told him. There are a series of events that occur which demonstrate how abusing power can result in catastrophic consequences which affect both individuals and communities. Characters Frank, Julian, Wes, and the whole white community abused their capabilities which resulted in negative outcomes. Local doctor Frank Hayden is one of the many people in the Bentrock community to overstep his power and mistreat it. Wes is responsible for the Frank s arrest which later on caused severe family tension. But the important consequence is that Wes didn t going to treat his brother the same as any other criminal that he d pass in his job. Instead of jailing Frank in the town jail, Wes finds his own basement as the most suitable option. In practicality, prisoning Frank in a basement is not the best or safest option, especially for the people who live above that basement. The power conversion efficiency is evaluated with respect to standard reporting conditions (SRC) defined by temperature, spectral irradiance, and total irradiance. 23 The SRC for rating the performance of terrestrial PV cells are the following: 1000 W∙m 2 irradiance, AM 1.5 (AM: air mass) global reference spectrum, and 25 °C cell temperature. 24 28 The PCE (η) of a PV cell is given as30 Where Pmax is the measured peak power of the cell, A is the effective device area, and Etot is the total incident irradiance. For equation (1) to give a unique efficiency, Etot must be given with respect to a reference spectral irradiance. The current reference spectrum adopted by the international terrestrial photovoltaics community is given in international electrotechnical commission (IEC) Standard 60904 3 and American society for testing and materials (ASTM) Standard G173.28, 29 As a simplification of equation (1), PCE can also be calculated by the following equation, η= (V_oc×J_sc×FF)/P_in (2) of which,Voc represent for open circuit voltage, Jsc means short circuit current density, and FF means fill factor. Pin is the input energy, typically radiated by the sun. The followings ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. My First Broken Heart Of Love It is true love can become atrocious and unbearable. It happens too many times than it should happen. I have experienced the beauty of love and also the tragic of love. I was barely a teenager and I thought I was in love with this boy. His name was Noah. I should emphasize on the past tense was because it s apart of the tragedy. Noah and I were best friends for two years. We met each other in 7th grade. He had moved to Maryland from Texas with his father, step mother, step brother, and dog. Our relationship bloomed like a gorgeous rose then withered and eventually died. I was barely a teenager and I experienced my first broken heart. Love sucks. At first, when I saw the new kid in my math class, I thought that he would have a hard time fitting it. The first thing anyone would notice about this kid was how incredibly thin he was. He was severely underweight and looked very anorexic. The second thing you would notice about this kid is his protruding front teeth. His front teeth and comical ears made him looked like a rat. I knew this kid would get picked on immediately. Unfortunately, it did happen, by an overweight kid. The overweight name was Garrett. Surprisingly, Noah and Garrett became friends. Since Garrett was friends with one of my friends, he introduced Noah to our group of friends. That s how our relationship started. Noah was also in my gym class along with math. We were always partners in gym because we were not athletic. We officially became friends when we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Why Don t We Complain By William F. Buckley Jr Who Can Complain As human beings we strive for more. The ultimate goal is to live a luxurious life and accomplish the goals we set out for ourselves. Sometimes a person has to be grateful for what they have, and just allow faith to run its course. There is a saying in my country, if you have everything you want in life, and everything goes your way, you will die . What I mean by this is, once a person as accomplished all their life goals, there is nothing left in life to fight for. Above all the material wealth one could wish for, the most important thing is respect. In Why Don t We Complain by William F. Buckley JR, Buckley really found the lack of respect and the lack of consideration some people have, for him, intolerable. Compared to The Fourth of July by Audre Lorde, her parents did not contradict any of life s circumstances, because they couldn t complain. Complaining would have made the matter worse. Looking at these two essays I realize that complaining about something you feel is unfair is not good, but there are certain complaints which are more serious than others. Surprisingly, Why Don t We Complain and The Fourth of July both had problems with the train system. A person would expect Audre s family to complain more about the trains; instead it was William who mentions how uncomfortable he felt in that situation. In the Audre essay she mentions how they could not dine in the diner car, meanwhile William was complaining about how hot the train was. He was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Bullying In The Real World Imagine that you are in school, walking down the hallway and see a bunch of guys bullying and harassing another kid. Do you go defend the kid or do you stay a bystander like all the other people you are surrounded by? Most kids just walk by thinking that if they don t stop it they re preventing bullying, but it s just making the problem worse. People need to how to speak up from bullies, and how to speak up for others who are being bullied. A reason why bullying still happens is because the person who gets bullied doesn t tell anyone because they are too scared about what the bully would do to them if the find out, or they think that they cannot get help from anyone else. The bullies think it will make them popular or they do it to make them feel superior to other students. Another reason it still happens is because people who witness bullying happening never tell anyone they re just by standers. In the age of technology a new form of bullying has arisen, cyberbullying, where people can bully other and keep their identities a secret. They do it either for fun or many of the main reasons why people bully in the real world do it. Bullies don t think about the negative effects that can happen on a person being bullied. There are different ways you can speak up you can tell the bully to stop and confront them, but it can lead to more negative consequences if the bully is bigger and stronger than you. Another way of speaking up is to tell an adult: like your parents, guardians, teachers, or principals. It is the safer route to take if you want to tell someone. The victims need to know that people will help them and that there is a way out of this. It is also important to tell a person immediately after you get bullied, so it doesn t become a recurring thing and become more and more afraid of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Analysis Of Anthem, By Ayn Rand Is dystopian fiction, unremittingly bleak, leaving no room for hope, or is it a positive warning to persuade us to speculate about the world that mankind has created. On the surface, dystopian fiction is a bleak, depressing genre that offers a detailed and destructive presentation of the very worst of social alternative , but in actuality it is a means of speculation that reveals to the audience the real threats in society. It extrapolates contemporary socio political trends taken into extremes , which compels its audience to re examine the values of their society, resulting in an optimistic tale that gives the audience hope to escape their pessimistic future. Anthem by Ayn Rand (1937) is a detailed portrait of a collectivist society overstated for the purpose of satire and storytelling. As a politically conscious writer, Rand writes to communicate to her audience her political perception into the destructive psychology of collectivism. This exposes the audience to the risks of conformity, along with providing means to avoid this dystopian imagination crystallising into reality. Dystopias are a hyperbolic view of a familiar society s values, and assert that total control is harmful to the individual. Anthem is a grim future Rand envisioned after experiencing first hand the impacts of a brutal Stalinist rule . It was influenced by general socio political trend of increasing signs of collectivism and oligarchy developing into more recent politics during the early 20th ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Woods Descriptive Writing The woods were inexplicably silent and mysterious, and the feeling was accentuated by the faint, gray light diffused by the cloud canopy above. The wet looking blacks and browns of the tree trunks and the occasional spot of muted rusty red or weak green from old fallen leaves stood out sharply against the purity of the freshly fallen snow cover. Only a single set of hoofprints could be seen, off on a nearly obliterated woodland trail. They were already beginning to be covered by the flakes falling from the tired gray sky as Emma brought Birdie, the chestnut mare, to a halt at the edge of the foul road. This is terribly sloppy going, she said aloud, with a deprecating glance at her mud spotted dress. Probably I ought to use the forest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is supposed to be a short cut! Am I...am I even on the path? The snow was deeper here and covered over a treacherous tangle of matted fallen overgrowth and hidden dips in the trail. In summer, the worst parts of the path were apparent and could be easily avoided, but with a full blanket of snow, it was ten times more difficult to navigate and ten times more dangerous. Then it happened. In a fever of nervousness, while looking behind her for the elusive follower, Emma simultaneously jerked back on the reins and urged her horse forward with her legs. Birdie half reared, tripped, then blindly bolted straight into a thicket. The reins snapped out of Emma s hands and one of her feet slipped out of the stirrup. In a last desperate effort, Emma grasped for the reins, but they flew over Birdie s head. The thoroughly panicked horse crashed right through the thicket and galloped down the path. Already fairly unseated by Birdie s momentum, when her horse stumbled on a hidden branch, Emma could no longer keep in the saddle. There was a sickening crash as Birdie hit the ground. Emma flew through the air and hit her head squarely against a tree, instantaneously knocking her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Atrocities And Liberation Of Concentration Camps The Atrocities and Liberation of Concentration Camps If you combine sadistic Nazi soldiers, a license to kill, and twenty six million people whom they took their aggression out on, you have the Holocaust. From torture to murder, the concentration camp prisoners experienced almost every despicably, inhumane act one can imagine. Hitler s Nazis will never be able to justify this ultimate example of cruelty and unfairness. Although the Holocaust occurred nearly seventy years ago, the world will never fail to remember the horrible acts that were committed against millions of innocent people in concentration camps. Whether the camps establishments were for labor purposes, or simply because Hitler ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Next, every bit of their hair was shaved off with electric razors and shearing machines. That hair was used to make clothing that the guards and their dogs would wear. To finish off this disinfecting process, the deportees were then taken into a shower room and were immersed in a phenol solution. Those who lived, for many had died because they weren t able to stand or became unconscious, were given wool rags to wear and wooden sandals that caused inflammation. Paper clothing that the deportees had made was taken, and some had resorted to trading in their food for clothing, only to have it confiscated shortly afterward (Whissen 5 13). Housing assignments for the prisoners were then issued. The prisoners barracks, which were designed to house half the people who were stuffed into them, were filthy and full of vermin, as one of the women assigned to them stated: When we arrived, the sleeping accommodations appeared to be quite nice; the beds had been neatly made, and on each straw mattress there was a small, blue white coverlet that was almost pretty. But unfortunately our contentment did not last long. When we turned down the corner of the coverlet, we saw that the mattresses and covers were crawling with vermin. My blanket was filthy.
