This project of Maglev windmill on the implementation of an alternate configuration of a wind turbine for power generation purposes. Using the effects of magnetic repulsion, spiral shaped wind turbine blades will be fitted on a rod for stability during rotation and suspended on magnets as a replacement for ball bearings which are normally used on conventional wind turbines. Power will then be generated with an axial flux generator, which incorporates the use of permanent magnets and a set of coils.

With advancements in the energy sector, the wind turbine goes under amendments and a new bladeless form comes into picture. The future of energy through bladeless poles is not far away.

The principle objective of this project is Rural Electrification via hybrid system which includes wind and solar energy. Our intention is to design a wind turbine compact enough to be
installed on roof tops. So we decided to design a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) over Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine (HAWT). Advantages of VAWT over HAWT are compact for same electricity generation, less noise, easy for installation and maintenance and reacts to wind from all directions.
The wind turbine designed to generate electricity sufficient enough for a domestic use. The electricity generated will be stored in the battery and then given to the load. This project emphasizes on electrification of remote areas with minimum cost where load shading still has to be done to meet with demand of urban areas.

The prototype is an idea which uses the property of an electromagnet by virtue of which it changes the polarity of its poles whenever the direction of current is changed. This variation in polarity is utilized to attract or repel the permanent magnet attached to the piston. The usage of relay and timer will limit the output of the engine. By using an ECU in the engine instead, power can be obtained on each stroke which will result in an increased output.
There are abundant of wave energy converter technologies available to convert wave energy into useable energy. However, most of them are huge and suitable for large application. Thus, this paper aimed to propose portable pico generator designs for small scale application. Investigation on the performance of designs with varying halbach magnet shapes was mainly focused and discussed. Two designs of different magnet shape i.e. triangular and trapezoid were proposed. Open-circuit simulation and optimization results were obtained using Finite Element Method. From the results, it was found out that Trapezoid Magnet Design produced better performance and lower material cost compared to another proposed design, Triangular Magnet as well as conventional Rectangular Magnet shape.

The development of axial-flux permanent-magnet (AFPM) machines has become a mature technology. The single-stator double-rotor (SSDR) AFPM structure has advantages on the compactness and the low up to medium power applications so the microscale size and low-cost applications are reachable to be designed. The research main objectives are designing and manufacturing the lateral shifting from the north poles of the first rotor face the north poles of the second rotor (NN) to the north poles of the first rotor face the south poles of the second rotor (NS) categories as well as finding the best performance of the proposed method and implementing in a low cost and micro-scale AFPMG. The novel lateral shifting on the one of the rotors shows performance at 19.2 0 has the highest efficiency at 88.39% during lateral shifting from N–N (0 0 ) to N–S (36 0 ) on rotor 2.

CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.

The steps are as follows :-
• The wire is wound on the spool by
using a lathe machine.
• The wires are firmly secured with
insulation material all over the coils.
• All 9 coils are wound and arranged on
the stator disc mould.
• The coils are connected in 3 phase star
connection.
• Insulation (resin) is poured to make the
assembly waterproof and sturdy.
17. Fabrication of magnetic disc
The steps are as follows :-
• Position of magnets are marked on the
disc
• Determine the poles of each magnet
• Mark the point where the first magnet
is placed
• Place the magnets on the disc with
alternate poles facing upwards
• Secure the poles in place with an
adhesive (araldite)
18. Experimental setup of VAWT
• The two bearings were fitted on the hub along with circlip.
• Drills were made on the hub as well as on the blade support to properly
attach them using nuts and bolts.
• The stator along with the magnetic discs are attached to the support
using the tie rods.
• The hub is first inserted through the axle and is properly fix.
20. Working
• The stator is subjected to a rotating magnetic field of the PM discs.
• This induces a voltage difference between the windings of the stator.
This produces the alternating current (AC) at the output.
• This current at the three phase windings which is then recorded with
the help of a multimeter.
21. Result
Analytical voltage was calculated using Erms equation.
The Experimental Results:
• For speed = 30 RPM, percentage error is 95.07%.
• For speed = 40 RPM, percentage error is 88.38%.
• For speed = 50 RPM, percentage error is 87.36%.
22. Discussions
The probable reasons for the deviation and errors are as follows
• Loose connections
• Thickness of resin
• Wire gauge thickness
• Uneven surface
• Uneven air gap
23. Conclusion
• Experimental setup was designed, analysed, fabricated, assembled and
successfully tested.
• Problems occurring can be eradicated by
1. Proper connections in the stator.
2. Reducing weight of the setup.
3. Proper amount of resin used in the stator.
4. Proper gauge selection of copper wire.
24. Future Scope
• VAWT is well suited for green buildings.
• Can be used in place of Horizontal axis wind turbine.
• Can be used in rural areas to produce electricity.
• It can also be used in areas where wind speed is as low as 4 mph
