This document describes the design and working of a permanent magnet generator project. It includes the following main points:
1) The generator uses permanent magnets and copper coils to generate electricity from rotational motion via electromagnetic induction. It is intended to extract energy freely from the environment.
2) The main components are neodymium magnets, a flywheel, driving and generating coils, and a rectifier circuit. The flywheel spins in between the magnetic fields produced by the driving coils and magnets to induce a voltage in the generating coils.
3) The generator is intended to efficiently produce electricity on a small household scale to power appliances. It has applications in remote areas with intermittent power and for military use.

Tidal power, sometimes called tidal energy, is a form of hydropower that exploits the rise and fall in sea levels due to the tides, or the movement of water caused by the tidal flow. Because the tidal forces are caused by interaction between the gravity of the Earth, Moon and Sun, tidal power is essentially inexhaustible and classified as a renewable energy source.
Tidal power can be classified into two types. Tidal stream systems make use of the kinetic energy from the moving water currents to power turbines, in a similar way to underwater wind turbines. This method is gaining in popularity because of the lower ecological impact compared to the second type of system, the barrage. Barrages make use of the potential energy from the difference in height (or head) between high and low tides, and their use is better established.
In spite of the high cost of solar technologies and policy of government, investment in the solar power generation is the good pay off due to the noise free and pollution free solar energy.

With the development of industry and
agriculture, a great amount of energy such as coal, oil
and gas has been consumed in the world. Extensive
use of these fossil energies deteriorates a series of
problems like energy crisis, environmental pollution
and so on. Everybody knows that the fossil energy
reserves are finite, some day it will be exhausted.
It is possible that the world will face a
global energy crisis due to a decline in the
availability of cheap oil and recommendations to a
decreasing dependency on fossil fuel. This has led to
increasing interest in alternate power/fuel research
such as fuel cell technology, hydrogen fuel, biodiesel,
Karrick process, solar energy, geothermal energy,
tidal energy and wind. Today, solar energy and wind
energy have significantly alternated fossil fuel with
big ecological problems.
With the development of the science and
technology, power generation using solar energy and
wind power is gradually known by more and more
people. And it is widespread used in many developed
countries. The merits of the solar and wind power
generation are very obvious-infinite and nonpolluting.
The raw materials of the solar and wind
power generation derived from nature, and wind
power generation can work twenty-four hours a day,
solar power generation only works by daylight. In
addition, this kind of power generation has no
exhaust emission and there is no influence to the
nature. But it also has some shortcomings. Because
of the imperfect of the technology, equipment of the
solar and wind power generation is very expensive.
By far, it cannot be widely used.
In addition, solar and wind power
generation system affected by the changing of the
weather very much, so it has obvious defects in
reliability compared with fossil fuel, and it is difficult
to make it fit for practical use the lack of economical
efficiency .Because of these problems it needs to
increase the reliability of energy supply by
developing a system which interacts Solar and wind
energy. This kind of system is usually called windsolar

LOW EXPENSE VERTICAL AXIS WIND TURBINE USING PERMANENT MAGNETSIAEME Publication
Wind turbines are devices that convert the wind's kinetic energy into electrical power. The result of over a millennium of windmill development and modern engineering, today's wind turbines are manufactured in a wide range of horizontal axis and vertical axis types. The smallest turbines are used for applications such as battery charging for auxiliary power. Slightly larger turbines can be used for making small contributions to a domestic power supply while selling unused power back to the utility supplier via the electrical grid. Arrays of large turbines, known as wind farms, have become an increasingly important source of renewable energy and are used in many countries as part of a strategy to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels.

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF VERTICAL AXIS WIND TURBINE IAEME Publication
The principle objective of this project is Rural Electrification via hybrid system which includes wind and solar energy. Our intention is to design a wind turbine compact enough to be
installed on roof tops. So we decided to design a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) over Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine (HAWT). Advantages of VAWT over HAWT are compact for same electricity generation, less noise, easy for installation and maintenance and reacts to wind from all directions.
The wind turbine designed to generate electricity sufficient enough for a domestic use. The electricity generated will be stored in the battery and then given to the load. This project emphasizes on electrification of remote areas with minimum cost where load shading still has to be done to meet with demand of urban areas.

2. INTRODUCTION
Permanent magnet generator also known as Free energy
generator is a machine developed to extract energy from the
surrounding by using principle stated by Tesla.
Tesla stated that the energy is freely available in the nature
therefore it is necessary to develop means of extracting that
particular energy
Permanent magnet generator , as its name implies is concerned
with the induction of EMF in coils by cutting of magnetic flux
by rotating magnetic field.
Power generation using permanent magnet generator(PM
Generator)(Free Energy Generator) is a new system of electric
power generation which is said to be of high efficiency and low
pollution on a household scale
4. DC Supply(Excitation)
Permanent magnet generator requires initial excitation to the
coils.
12 volts and above DC supply excitation is required to excite
the electromagnets.
The energy can be freely extracted if we charge the 12v
Battery/DC supply by solar charger The circuit for the same is
shown below:
5. PERMANENT MAGNET
Neodymium Magnet
• The Neodymium Iron Boron, NdFeB, magnets are made of an
alloy primarily consisting of Neodymium, Iron and Boron
6. • Up to +150 degrees C, the Neodymium Iron Boron magnets are
the strongest performers.
• It is considered as the strongest magnet (RARE EARTH
METAL)
• The "Neo" magnets are a first choice for many applications as
they offer the greatest performance with the smallest volume.
Neodymium Iron Boron, NdFeB, magnets exist in a variety of
grades. These grades not only vary in magnetic output
performance but they also vary with temperature rating
•In our project we require high magnetic field to produce high
voltage of 230v. Hence Neodymium Magnet Is Essential.
8. Flywheel/Rotor
A flywheel is a rotating mechanical device that is used to
store Rotational Energy. Flywheels have a significant moment of
inertia and thus resist changes in rotational speed. The amount of
energy stored in a flywheel is proportional to the square of its
rotational speed
In our project we are going to use circular rotor/flywheel with
permanent magnet inserted on 4 sides.
9.
10. To mount Rotor/Flywheel ball bearing is used.
The purpose of a ball bearing is to reduce rotational friction and
support Radial and Axial loads.
11. Copper Coils
Copper Coils are one of the most important component of free
energy generator.
Copper Coils are wound with specific number of turns on any
insulating material
Total Six number of copper coils
are required for free energy
generator ,Divided into two types
1) Driving Coil
2) Generating Coil
12. Driving Coil
Driving coils are two in number. These two coils are mounted
opposite (180 deg)to each other nearer to rotor.
Driving Coil performs the function of Electromagnet producing
magnetic field.
Generating Coil
Generating Coils are four in number. These coils are mounted at
90 deg, 180 deg, 270 deg and 360 Deg.
Generating Coils are connected in series which give the required
Ac output
13. Rectifier & Filter
Free Energy Generator produces 230v AC Voltage.
Application of Generator can be increased by converting AC
voltage into DC voltage . So as to charge a battery, Charging
mobile etc.
14. Here is a very simple Circuit of a 12V power supply circuit using
LM7812 IC. LM7812 is a three terminal fixed voltage regulator
IC. It has many built in features like thermal shutdown, short
circuit protection, safe operating area protection etc. The output
current of the IC is 1A which is enough to run most electronic
devices.
.
15. Construction
It consist of flywheel embedded with Neodymium magnets
along circumference having magnetic poles at 0º,90º,180º &
270º.
The flywheel is coupled with a DC Motor.
There are two copper coils called as Driving Coils that are
excited by DC Source. They are mounted separately and held
clear of the disc.
There are four Generating Windings mounted on a disc
allowing them to move through an angle to get optimum
output.
16. Top View Of PM Generator
Free Energy Generation
17. Working
Its working principle is similar to that of a permanent magnet
generator.
A flywheel embedded with neodymium magnets along its
circumference acts as a rotor moving in constant magnetic
field which produced by dc excited copper windings (Drive
Windings).
As initial rotation is given to the flywheel through motor ,it
starts to rotate.
18. • There are two magnetic fields being developed:
1) Magnetic field due to Drive Windings
2) Magnetic field due to Neodymium magnets embedded on
flywheel.
• These two magnetic fields are produced in such a way that the
resultant magnetic field will act tangentially to the flywheel
giving rotational motion to it.
• The instantly changing magnetic flux will cut the generating
winding and thereby induces emf in generating winding.
19. Significance(Application)
• Power generation using permanent magnet generator is
highly efficient and ecofriendly.
• As it generates an AC output of 60v on a small scale and up to
230 v when implemented on a larger scale, it can be useful to
run almost all domestic appliances.
• This generator is useful in remote villages where power is
available for a very small duration of time.
• This generator will be useful to Defence Personnel
campaigning on borders.
• Hence we conclude that this device will be highly efficient
and convenient for domestic appliances.
20. Advantages
Power generation using permanent magnet generator(PM
Generator)(Free Energy Generator) generates power which is said
to be of high efficiency and low pollution on a household scale.
Permanent Magnet generator has efficiency greater than 90%
without use of any fossil fuel.
It can be made available for specified period of time in remote
villages/places to run household appliances for a day or two.
