 A potential divider is a passive linear circuit that produces
an output voltage that is a fraction of its input voltage.
 A simple example of a voltage divider is two resistors
connected in series.
 With the input voltage applied across the resistor pair
and the output voltage emerging from the connection
between them.
What is Potential divider
1) Fixed resistors in series.
2) Fixed resistor in series with an LDR.
3) Variable resistor in series with a thermistor.
Types of Potential dividers
 Use as a volume, brightness or contrast control.
 Making and designing a circuit to use as a temperature
sensor
 Making and designing a circuit to use as a light sensor
 Controlling logic devices
Using potential dividers
 Voltage dividers are used for:
 Adjusting the level of a signal
 For bias of active devices in amplifiers
 For measurement of voltages
Applications
Ultrasound therapy device
Shockwave therapy machine
Interferential Current (IFC)
