Islamophobia is the irrational hostility, fear, or hatred of Islam, Muslims, and Islamic culture at individual, societal or state level
It also connotes active discrimination against these groups or individuals within them with due process of law or without it
It manifests itself through individual attitudes and behaviours, and the policies and practices of organizations and institutions.
This presentation attempts to clarify the concept, analyse its underlying causes, and suggests a plan of action to counter it
A short overview of the concept of Islamophobia, using the Runnymede Trust definition and 5 closed points, together with a brief definition as anti-Muslim prejudice. Also some discussion of how Islamophobia is a form of description that overlaps with (and is a form of) racism. Part of the course on the Challenges of Multiculturalism that I am developing on Udemy.
It will help to know about negative and impact of media on Islam. It contains enough data for understanding. I am always passionate about new learning. I can write assignments for anyone.

During the last decade, debates on the role of religion in the public space, migration, social cohesion and other issues have revealed increasing social tensions and polarisation in public opinion. Misperceptions and misinformation often dominate public dialogue about relations between Muslims and others. Although they don’t speak with the loudest voice, academics, scholars and thought leaders have a key role to play in helping to rebalance these debates by providing fact-based opinion and informed arguments. In the ‘Building a Shared Future’ series, these opinion leaders offer insights into the issues facing Muslims through American and European communities today.
In the decade since 9/11, the media and public opinion have propagated many misconceptions about Muslims and Islam, but there also exists great opportunity to use the media to correct them. This volume explores the representation of Islam in both the media and the public sphere.

Media and the Challenges of Peace Building in Period of Insurgencyinventionjournals
The paper examined the ways by which the Nigeria media could be used to address the challenges of peace building in period of insurgency. The discussion was in the context of the Boko Haram insurgency that emanated from Nigeria and spread to the neighbouring countries of the Republics of Cameroon, Chad and Niger. The paper reviewed the challenges of media and terrorism. Conflict situations are important to the media providing them with news materials, issues and events to analyzed or comment on. But terrorism or insurgency, much as it offers news materials to the media, also puts journalists and media houses in danger1 . An environment riddled with terrorist’s attacks is unhealthy for media work. Even from this perspective, the media have a role in the campaign for the current insurgency to be conquered and for peace to return to the larger society.
Recruiting Foreign Terrorist Fighters and Dealing with Returnees: European Ex...Russian Council
The Working Paper highlights and compares the most credible estimates of the number of militants arriving from different countries according to data published by the security services of various nations, as well as by leading research centres across the globe. Particular attention is paid to assessments of the situation regarding terrorists leaving, and then coming back to Europe, Russia and Central Asian countries; the link between migration and the recruitment of terrorists; and an analysis of the most common factors driving recruitment. This paper also includes a review of methods used by other countries to combat the recruitment of terrorists, as well as measures taken to reintegrate returning militants into society.
Muslims in the Media: Room for Moderation?Heather Risley
This is a final paper for a George Washington University course I took in 2011. It is composed of a research design for a content analysis project looking at how Muslims have been portrayed in American media over time. The actual research was not carried out, but the paper provides a roadmap for how one might investigate this issue.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

4. In The Light of Research
Muslims tend to be negatively framed, while Islam is dominantly
portrayed as a violent religion, shows a meta-analysis of articles
looking at media representations of Muslims and Islam. Saifuddin
Ahmed of the University of California and Jörg Matthes of the
University of Vienna did a meta-analysis of 345 published academic
studies between 2000 and 2015.
The quantitative part of the study looks at geographical focus, methods,
theories, authorship, media types, and time frames. The qualitative part
amplifies the most prominent research themes.
A large majority of studies covered Western countries, while Muslim
countries and Muslim media have been neglected. The authors also
show that there is a lack of research on visuals, online media and
comparative research. Most studies investigated the themes of
migration, terrorism and war. The authors conclude with the notion
that the depiction of Muslims in the media can have serious
implications for society and individuals.

and Muslims. A discourse analysis of Facebook reveals
that people are changing their perceptions, attitudes and
opinions through the Facebook. Netizens like, comment
and share the material in accordance with their interests
