- Present Main differences: UX designers make decisions based on direct interviews, data points, familiar/proven patterns etc – not their own opinions. Protip: if you ask “Where should this button be, and what should be the text on it?” Visual designer: answer based on personal preference UX designer will ask: For who? On what device? What do they call it, when they take this action?
- The world is changing fast
- *Is mindful of the whole user experience and ecosystem (system design). Responsible for market research. Prioritizes features and reconciles legacy, performance and usability trade-offs. Communicates across business areas, project roles, stakeholders and users. Manages the element and component library Oversees governance models
- *Makes sure that the information structure makes sense from a user’s perspective Organizes the content into meaning taxonomies, groups, hierarchies, and navigation: right way, right place, right time. Responsible for designing the navigation system, producing the sitemap, defining naming conventions, and informing wireframing from an information organization point-of-view.
- UX Research
- *Responsible for implementing various research methodologies to help gain understanding of user needs and behaviours. Performs the testing, Analyses reports results makes recommendations.
- *Tests, analyses and reports results, and makes recommendations to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and overall satisfaction of the user. Optimize the usage of and performance related to the product Pays special attention to Validity (does this test what we mean it to test?) and Reliability (does this test have meaningful consistency?). Defines usability standards and interfaces with QA. May have special skills Responsible for the measurement, collection, analysis and reporting of collected data to understand and optimize the usage of and performance related to the product. - UI
- *Responsible for the aesthetics of the UI and any related materials. Strategically implements typography, images, and colors. With input from Marketing, may be responsible for appropriate representation of brand standards and objectives. May design data visualizations.
- Responsible for identifying those key interactions, wireframing/ prototyping them. Designs the interface and keeps in communication with the dev team, correcting designs when necessary. May design data visualizations and relevant drill-down interactions.

- Content Strategy: Responsible for conducting a content inventory, defining image/file repository rules, writing content/ error messages using Plain Language, developing content style guides, writing documentation, updating pattern libraries, planning editorial calendars, and creating a sustainable governance model.
