mainly at the teenagers 15 or over up until
being a young adult. This is because I want to
target a young audience and since my short
film will have a BBFC rating of 15 I must make
sure I have some of the things involved that
make it a 15.
The things included to make it a 15 will
include: strong language, violence and threat.
5. Editing Sound Camera Mise en Scene Narrative
Fast cuts Silence Tilt shots or otherwise
disorientating angles and shots
to create discomfort within the
viewer
Antagonist wear dark or black
clothing

and excitement for the
audience
Long scenes to build suspense. Begins with a slow tempo Close-ups and extreme close-
ups of the protagonist
Blood or violence Violence is often a key theme
within thriller films
Slow or eerie music in order to
create suspense or uncertainty
High angle shots to show the a
character's dominance over
another character, usually the
antagonist over the protagonist
Guns, knives, weapons, etc. There is usually a protagonist
who is rather immoral or an
outsider, perhaps an anti hero-
but usually has good intentions
Heightened diegetic sounds
such as a door creaking

atmosphere of suspense or
