Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

Genre: supernatural thriller.

The plot of our film is about a girl who got bullied by her fellow
classmates at college and winds up killing herself, and now she has
come back to haunt and terrorize the people who bullied her. Her
latest victim is the main girl in our film. The rest of the film is about
the rest of the town trying to figure out who is killing these people
and how to stop these deaths happening.
3. STRUCTURE
Act 1: girl is walking home, friend tells her about murders in her town, hears
strange noises
Act 2: girl hears more noises and notices that a knife has gone missing and music
has started playing randomly
Act 3: she goes upstairs to investigate, walks into the room which the antagonist
is in and audience hears a scream. Title of the film appears then the body of the
girl is on the floor and the villain picks up the phone in her hand.
Key dramatic moment:
The murder of the girl and the clash between her and the antagonist. There will
be a loud scream and a bright light to symbolize that this is the key moment.
4. THEMES:
The main theme in our film is bullying as the story of our film. The supernatural
killer was badly bullied by a numerous people at her school and ended her life and
is now coming back to get her revenge; including this girl.
5. LOCATION
Inside of Castle Field house.
- Kitchen
- Stairs
- Bedroom
- Around outside of building
Walking from the back entrance through
6. CHARACTERS
The victim in our sequence will adhere to the stereotype of victims in thrillers,
particularly teenage girls as they are typically presented as weak and vulnerable.
Antagonist: The antagonist in our film will also adhere to their stereotype as they
will have a deformity or scar on their face, they will deliberately cause harm and
create fear towards the victim.
7. MISE EN SCENE
The mise en scene we will use will be followed by CLAMPS :
Costume: villain will be wearing dark, black clothing. Victim will be wearing casual clothing.
Lighting: low key lighting to create a dark atmosphere.
Actors: college students and a haunting, paranormal villain.
Makeup: normal makeup for the victim of the murder, paranormal figure; needs a scar or deformity on their face.
Props: knives, candles, laptop, music player, keys, bag,
Setting: Castlefield House and around.
8. INFLUENCES
Our main influence for our opening sequence was from The Ring. We watched the opening
sequence for The Ring and gained an understanding of what was successful in an opening
sequence. We gained ideas on music, lighting and camera angles.
We also used Paranormal Activity as an influence for our film as it features some of the main
conventions of the supernatural genre including low key lighting, jump scares and intense,
creepy music.
Although both these films are technically horrors, we will be taking the supernatural elements
from them and using them to influence our film.
9. HOW?
Genre conventions
To suit our genre of paranormal thriller we have added the conventions like:
Having an innocent young girl as the victim.
We will have a jump scare right at the end.
We will have a build up of intense music leading up to the death of the victim.
We will have low key lighting and flashing lights to create shadows and underexposure.
The house will be located away from others in a rural area.
10. HOW?
Attracting target audience
Our target audience is young people therefore we have the age certificate at a 15.
It is about college students so our audience can relate to the film.
We made it a 15 and not an 18 because if we were to have a high age restriction that
would reduce our audience range so less people would be able to watch it.
This means we have to get the balance of how scary it is as it has to be suitable for 15
year olds to watch. One way we will do this is by not showing the actual murder of the
innocent. girl.
11. HOW?
Mood/atmosphere creation
To create the atmosphere he have made it so the girl is in the house alone.
We will use low key lighting to give it the scary atmosphere.
Strange noises – creaking, banging and howling
Intense creepy music.
Lights flickering.
12. HOW – CAMERAWORK
We will be using hand held camera shots to make it seem more realistic and shaky
going with the theme of our film.
We will use close ups to show emotions like being scared and shocked.
We will use long shots to show that there could be something looking at the girl,
such as looking through a window or at the end of a corridor.
When it gets more intense the camera shots will be quicker.
