Child-Rearing Child Development
Throughout the forces of nature versus nurture, biological or hereditary information and day to day
interactions that children encounter in their environment play a significant role in childhood
development. The feeding and communication milestones are associated with childhood development
and are important to the overall expansion of the individual. Each milestone is outlined and portrays
what an individual should have accomplished within the period. Throughout a home or teaching
practices used in elementary or secondary education, common practices in child rearing are enforced.
There are several positive and negative effects of each child rearing practice that could be changed to
promote better individual development and growth.
The forces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using the principles of development learned in this course the authoritarian parent and the uninvolved
parent could both make significant changes in order to promote better individual development and
growth. A child may develop an aggressive behavior with an authoritarian parent and their
externalizing and internalizing problems stem from this type of parenting style. (Braza, P. 2015) The
authoritarian parent expects their child to be absolutely obedient and this often times leads to the child
having a higher than normal likely of getting in trouble. These kinds of parents keep control of their
children s behaviors as much as possible and create firm rules so the child knows the consequences of
breaking the rules. Authoritarian parents develop similar patterns of parenting within the other sources
of child bearing. Authoritarian parents often times score higher due to children searching for
independence in the developmental process which increases conflicts. (Luyckx, K. 2011) Often time s
children from these authoritarian families can be less resourceful and have a lower self esteem.
Authoritarian parents create a solid behavior process for their children but often create the idea that a
child must lie to do what he or she wants to do. A parent in this aspect can be so focused on their child
always following the rules that once a child makes a

REPORT 1
Concerns at Winterbourne View Hospital first came to light after a charge nurse raised the issues with
the hospital in October 2010 and his allegations were passed on to the local authority, South
Gloucestershire council, in its capacity as lead safeguarding agency and then relayed to the CQC in
December 2010 but nothing was done.
In May 2011 the BBC released undercover footage about the appalling way vulnerable residents at
Winterbourne View Hospital were being treated, once the footage was released it came into light that

Inspectors who visited Winterbourne View considered taking urgent action to close the centre, but
decided that it was in the best interests of the patients to allow NHS and local authority commissioner
s further time to find alternative placements.
CQC ensured that there would be an immediate stop on admissions and that extra staff would be
brought in to protect patients until they could be moved.
When they were satisfied that those arrangements were in place, CQC took enforcement action to
remove the registration of Winterbourne View, the legal process to close a location. The hospital
closed in June.
The report is full of unsafe practices such as;
The providers had failed in its legal duty to notify the Care Quality Commission of serious incidents
including injuries to patients or occasions when they had gone missing. Staff did not appear to
understand the needs of the people in their care, adults with learning disabilities, complex needs and
challenging behaviour.
Winterbourne view was not compliant with 10 of the essential standards which the law requires
providers must meet. People who had no background in care services had been recruited, references
were not always checked and staff were not trained or supervised properly.
Some staff were too ready to use methods of restraint without considering alternatives.

Comparing Mustangs And Corvettes
Chevy and Ford may have some things that look alike but they are actually very different. This essay
will talk about strength, speed, and how long the vehicle will last. It will talk about Duramaxes,
Powerstrokes, Mustangs, Corvettes, and Camaros. First, let s talk about trucks. A six point six liter
Chevy Duramax has four hundred forty five horsepower. A six point seven liter Powerstroke has four
hundred forty horsepower. Duramaxes are stronger than Powerstrokes by five horsepower. Next,
Corvettes and Mustangs. According to www.popularmechanics.com Corvettes are faster than
Mustangs. That doesn t mean Corvettes are funner. According to popularmechanics the mustang is
much funner to drive but it it is not as fast as the Corvette. It can t take turns like a Corvette can.
Corvettes take corners smoothly and don t wipe out. Mustangs can t do the sharpest of turns or they
could wipe out. If you want to just be stupid with your car then get a Mustang. They are good for
doing burnouts and doughnuts with. Corvettes are probably safer though. Everyone should want a
Corvette if they want to go fast. Ready to hear more about trucks? The contest between the Duramax
and Powerstroke is on again. It depends on what year. According to field and stream, the new

White Privilege In Education Essay
The education system is notorious for teaching its own agenda, and not necessarily all the facts of a
situation. For many years, the education system on all levels has been teaching students what it means
to have privilege, and how life would be if they did not. Usually, the white students are the subject of
privilege, and the minority student are the subject of life with racism, and without privilege. White
privilege has been an underlying lesson to students for generations, and contributes to the power and
superiority white people feel over everyone else. When the Michael Brown shooting occurred, it
opened up many people s eyes to the inequalities that are being perpetrated by the very education
system meant to teach students how to live ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is not done in conspicuous ways, though. In both subtle and overt ways, the hidden curriculum
works to re produce and re inforce the inequalities that exist in society. Studies show that streaming
practices, teacher expectation and pedagogy, as well as the curriculum itself, all work to disadvantage
certain racialized and minoritized youth on the basis of race, gender and class (Dei et. al. 2004. 94).
First of all, there is the hidden curriculum that is taught by the teachers. This curriculum would consist
of, for example, historical facts being distorted in order to hear only one side of the story. In many
history classes, students receive the Canadian or American perspective, and that perspective is of
white people who wrote the history books in order to favour certain facts. It also includes the way the
teachers actually treat students. Positive and negative reinforcement impacts the students psych in a
way that will leave a lasting impression. If a teacher praises a white student constantly for doing a job
well done, but does not treat a non white student in the same way, that will leave the impression that
the white student is better and smarter, and that pushes the hidden curriculum. Next, the curriculum
works to re inforce the problems society already has. In the work force, it is a common known fact
that

How Does Ray Bradbury Dehumanize Technology
In The Pedestrian by Ray Bradbury, the main character, Mr. Leonard Mead, takes off one night for his
usual walk through his technologically advanced neighborhood. Bradbury writes with the wildest of
imaginations turning the most common, inanimate objects into characters. One of his best works in
many critics opinions, The Pedestrian illustrates the potential dangers of our constantly progressing,
dehumanizing technology crazed world. Bradbury produces the images of computer driven police
cars, and people obtaining their common knowledge through their television sets. In The Pedestrian
Ray Bradbury predicts the view that as technology continues to progress it will desensitize humans,
and it will not be too long before our lives revolve completely around it. ... Show more content on

One December evening as Leonard Mead strolls down the street, he recollects, In ten years of walking
by night or day, for thousands of miles, he had never met another person walking, not once in all that
time. (Bradbury). By stating that Mead has not seen one single person walking in ten years confirms
that people remain indoors glued, and absorbed by their technology. As Mr. Mead continues to walk
on this chilly December evening, a lone police car stops him. At this time, 2053 A.D., walking appears
to most, if not all highly suspicious and unusual. The lone police car in a town of three million stops
and questions him, and eventually tells him to enter the vehicle. As Mead approaches the back seat he
visualizes, As he passed the front window of the car he looked in. As he had expected, there was no
one in the front seat, no one in the car at all. (Bradbury). The absence of a human driver in the police
car depicts that the police car drives and speaks robotically , and exemplifies more of the far too

Smoother Transition In Radiology
The opportunity to work together with physicians from every field, care for patients of all ages and be
at the forefront of diagnosing a wide range of pathology from acute to chronic make radiology the
right fit for me.
Early in my third year I had the opportunity to spend a half day per week with a local radiologists in a
small hospital while on my Family Medicine clerkship. Among many interesting cases, I remember
one in particular. Mrs. P was in her second trimester and had undergone an ultrasound revealing a low
lying placenta. The radiologist met with the Family medicine physician to inform them of the finding
and discuss further management. Later that week I met the patient in clinic where she expressed
gratitude that her diagnosis was made but uneasiness with what this meant for her pregnancy.
Together, the three decided it would be best to deliver at a larger outside hospital.
In the remainder of my third year I came to further appreciate just how integral radiology is to patient
care. Whether it was quickly diagnosing appendicitis in the middle of the night, helping an oncologist
determine staging to guide therapy, or draining an abdominal abscess; radiology was often central to
determining the management plan.

Symptoms And Treatment Of Hiv
There have been 30 drugs approved to treat Hiv, but currently there are no cures for this virus.
Treatments for HIV can help people live with the virus while taking care of their physical, mental
health, and overall well being. Starting treatment as soon as possible it can also help your health
circumstances and strengthen your immune system. Getting tested for HIV is very important to
decrease the spread of the virus and save many lives.
Getting tested to know your status in order to avoid illnesses is important. The growth of new
infections continues to pose serious health problems/risk. Today in America there are 1.25 million
people who are infected with HIV. Out of the 1.25 million people, twenty percent of them are unaware
of their HIV status. In the event of the possibility of exposure or contamination of HIV it is smart to
get tested regularly to not infect others or get early treatment. You can reduce your risk by getting
tested often. Early detection can lead to a better treatment and a greater outcome for a longer life
expectancy. You should get tested if never got tested before. The centers of disease control and
prevention recommends that you should get tested at least once a year if you participate in activities
that can cause HIV infection.
HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus. HIV is an infection. Many infections may cause the
body to be chilly and stay in the body just for a few days. On the other hand, HIV will never go away.

General Practice Attorneys
The first step to planning and organizing a law firm is identifying your practice niche(s). This is
important because it is the foundation for everything you will have to do down the line. Attorneys can
have either a specific specialization or a general practice. General practice attorneys handle all
different types of cases. Because different areas of law are diverse, it is difficult for general practice
attorneys to be skilled in all areas of law. Attorneys who specialize in a particular area of law generally
work on cases only within that area because only attorneys who focus on this type of work are able to
understand the very specific rules and regulations of the specific practice.

Knowing your competition will help you distinguish your practice from theirs and it will help you find
opportunities in the legal field. More importantly, analyzing your competition will tell you more about
what your potential clients want. And, knowing what clients want is critical to your success. As you
build your competitive analysis, remember to stay focused on what matters. If you plan to have a
practice that handles only plaintiff s bodily injury cases, don t spend time learning about the
intellectual property practices in your neighborhood. Prepare your competitive analysis by identifying
who are your major competitors, what is the basis of the competition, and how do your services
compare.
Having your firm being spread by referral by a current client, colleagues, bar association, etc. will be
the reason for a large majority of the firm s success. People like to talk, whether they are talking about
the service you provided that they enjoyed or your service that left them wanting to come back. Word
of mouth has a snowball effect, particularly in an age when fast worldwide communication is
common. Your firm can t afford not to consider how quickly its service and reputation can be
badmouthed. This is why marketing the firm s service honestly and with integrity is

Estrogen Levels
Home
All men experience a drop in their levels of testosterone as they age. This usually begins as soon as
they are in their early 30 s. And though aging is nothing to fear, this natural diminishing of the
hormone causes unwanted side effects that can affect a man s fertility, sexuality, and health. This is
because low testosterone levels can lead to estrogen dominance in a man, and a hormone imbalance is
created. But to raise the testosterone levels, one must also lower the estrogen levels. Because of this,
some men are starting to use a natural anti estrogen product to help them regain their sense of
masculinity, so they look and feel younger.
Why Should Men Worry About Estrogen Levels?
Just as some people think that testosterone is strictly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Answer: There are many estroblockers available on the market. They all have different ingredients and
attributes that make them. To find the best one for you, do some research on each of them. But be sure
to only take the natural based kind because other pharmaceutical types can have some dangerous side
effects to them.
Question: Will changes to my estrogen levels affect my fertility?
Answer: Too much estrogen in a man s body decreases his sperm count and can also cause impotence
or difficulty performing sexually. By lowering high levels of estrogen, these negative effects are
reversed, so a man s fertility is improved.
Question: Will lowering my estrogen help with my acne?
Answer: Acne can be caused by an imbalance of hormones in the body, so by correcting this
imbalance, many men will find that their skin becomes clearer. However, initially there might be an
increase in acne until the hormones level out. Keeping the skin clean and free from oil and dirt will
also help to reduce blemishes though.

happy as an English teacher correcting Math homework.☺︎After this, the Lisbeth s guardian,
Bjurman, intends to not only blackmail her, but intends to kill her as payment for what she had done to
him. While searching for information that Bjurman can use against her, he finds a notebook that has
notes written in it talking about the evil thing that happened to Lisbeth when she was only thirteen.
Though it does not specify in the journal what the evil thing is, Bjurman notices that it happened right
before Lisbeth started getting into trouble with the system. This is why the notebooks that he finds are
very important, because without them he may not be able to find out what had happened to Lisbeth as

Methanol Vs Isobutanol
Discussion
The results do not support the hypothesis as there is no general trend in the volume contraction.
However, there is a correlation between the number of carbon chains in the alcohol to the contraction
of the mixture. Methanol has had the most volume contraction, while having the least amount of
carbons in the molecule (CH3OH) having an average of 1.206ml in volume contraction. Whereas
Isobutanol, which has the highest amount of carbon chains (C4H9OH), has had the least amount of
average volume contraction of 0.578ml. According to the (Solubility of Things, n.d.), as the amount of
carbon atoms increases in the molecule, the alcohol has less solubility in water. This is due to how
there are more carbon atoms repulsing the water molecule, therefore having less contact as well as
hydrogen bonding with the HO chain. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Water molecules contain a unique dipole property, having the hydrogen atoms being slightly more
positive than the oxygen atom, which allows for the attraction between OH chains. Although an
alcohol molecule contains an OH chain, carbon atoms repulse the water molecules while having a
weaker dipole force leading to less volume contraction. Furthermore, due to any disturbances such as
heat or kinetic energy as well as the repulsion from the carbon atoms they are constantly transitioning
throughout the mixture. This is evident from the solubility of isobutanol and water. As there is a high
amount of repulsion between water and alcohol molecules, the alcohol floats, although there is minute
change in volume (refer to results). This separation between liquids decreases the amount of volume
contraction, as they are more segregated as shown in graph 1. This solubility of isobutanol was
expressed in (Solubility of Things, n.d.), having only 0.11% solubility in

I m a Murderer
I m a murderer! The thought hammered into Xavier s head as he lay in bed staring at the darkened
ceiling of his room waiting for sleep to come. But he couldn t shake the dark feeling already seeded in
his gut. He was a murderer! He d killed not one but two men. Alas, William LeMasters had been an
evil, horrible man, and he had wished the man dead numerous times, but if truth were told, he hadn t
really meant to kill him. He d only meant to drain him of his powers so that he would no longer be a
threat, but he hadn t been adequately prepared for the power of the King s Key. This small, gold staff
was possibly the most potent object on Earth, encasing every power known and many unknown in the
empowered world. It not only had the ability to empower individuals with additional powers; it also
had the ability to abolish powers, sometimes with deadly consequences. The prophet had failed to
mention that to him. But then, the prophet had failed to mention a lot of things!
Although LeMasters death hadn t been intentional, the death of his father s long trusted assistant was
another matter. Milton Bailey had been brutally tortured and morbidly maimed by LeMasters. The
excruciating pain as he was dismembered alive chopped away his resolve, and he feared that he would
betray his king by renouncing him. He begged for Xavier to end his life so he could die with honor
knowing he d stayed true to King Wells. In the end, Xavier had killed Milton, not William LeMasters.

Chemical Engineering Personal Statement
Chemical engineers are often defined as people who refine oil but this have change. Chemical
engineering ranges from pharmaceutical to petrochemical industry, which is the main reason I choose
it as it leaves me with wide option of careers once I graduate. Chemical engineer always have these
question in mind how do we make it more efficient, durable and environmentally friendly? and living
in developing country where our air is polluted, children die from malnutrition and fishes die from
factory waste, sparked my interest in chemical engineering to improve the situation in my hometown.
Chemical engineering requires individual to be strong in both mathematics and chemistry. It also
requires student to be able to think out of the box and think of alternative solution. My ability and
deep interest in the subject can be seen from the various competition I took part in. In 2014, I took part
in Science UNSW where I attained distinction (top 8% nationwide) and Singapore and ASEAN
Mathematical Olympiad where I awarded silver; gold the following year. I also took part in Asia
International Mathematical Olympiad in 2014 where I was awarded bronze. Just recently, I manage to
attain bronze in C3L6. In these competitions, I learn about problem solving, critical thinking and
tackling problem that I never see before. My mathematical and chemical abilities will serve as a firm
foundation for my development as chemical engineer. Math allows engineers to break down large

How Does Wilkie Collins Present The Theme Of...
William Wilkie Collins was a famous and powerful novelist in the 19th century. Collins The
Moonstone is said to be the adoptive parent of the great English detective genre. TS Eliot, claiming
that the genre was invented by Collins and not by Poe , declared it to be the first, the longest and the
best of modern English detective novel (Ronald 179). Collins childhood and adulthood influenced the
novel, The Moonstone. Collins was born to the notable landscape artist, William Collins. At a youthful
age, Collins was sent away to the English Cole s Boarding School. Collins was an odd looking child,

Collins states in The Moonstone that, the Brahmins never had a chance in the world of getting back
the moonstone, however, they stood up to the English (Collins 11 16). The Brahmins task in life was
to protect the moonstone, which belonged to the four handed Indian goddesses, Chandra (Collins 11
12). The goddess commanded that the Moonstone... be watched ... by three priests in night and day, to
the end of the generations of men (Collins 12). The Brahmins carried out Chandra s task diligently,
until the Moonstone was taken by the sultans and then Herncastle (Collins 12 15). The three Brahmins
awaited their chance to get the moonstone for many generations, and even crossed the sea to seize
their stone from the English(Wells 306). However, Godfrey Ablewhite was not as courageous and
noble minded as the Brahmins. Ablewhite, a reputable Englishman and the fiancé of Rachel Verinder,
is the actual thief of the moonstone. Ablewhite wants to marry Rachel only because of her money or
steal the moonstone to pay off his debt . When Rachel refuses him, the moonstone is taken by
Ablewhite and the curse of the Moonstone is put on him (Wells 310). The complete polar
characterization between the Brahmins and Ablewhite helps to illustrate Collins anti imperialism. The

Nigger Definition Essay
What word makes you cringe but you use daily? A word with arguably the most negative connotation,
but is used frequently by only one race. The word that comes to mind for me is Nigger. This word is
one of the many other things the white man stole from other cultures. Used as a derogatory,
demeaning term. Over the years, we, the African American community, took the word and turned into
a word of endearment, something that we use to speak of or to another black man/woman. Growing
up, I lived in two of the most diverse cities in America. Queens, New York and Houston, Texas, so I
personally have never experienced racism in my life, until my family and I stopped at Vider, Texas for
gas. As a young child, my older cousins would say the word nigger or nigga as frequently as the word
bro or dude. It is a way to refer to your fellow African American. Every time the word was used, it
was greeted with a smile and a nod signifying love and respect. I wasn t aware that the word was once
used to demine blacks. We walked into to a gas station, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Negus is king, emperor, or ruler. They stole the word and turned it from a word of respect to a word of

Analysis Of Theodore Roethke Root Cellar
In Theodore Roethke Root Cellar , there is a heavy use of vivid and stylistic imagery. In the first line,
the speaker states, Nothing would sleep in that cellar, dank as a ditch. We are given that something is
refusing to sleep that is, to die and at the same time being dank gets us thinking about things that are
undead . In line two, the speaker states, Bulbs broke out of boxes hunting for chinks in the dark. This
tells us that things are still growing and they are looking for the light. In the next following line the
speaker mentions, Shoots dangled and dropped (3). This gives us the image of the shoots coming out
of the bulbs. The shoots dangle and droop towards whatever light possible. In line four, the speaker
gives us an idea of the type of housing they are in, mildewed crates. The moisture creates mold and
mildew. It also creates prettier life like plants. As you can see, mold and mildew are life, and they
grow alongside the plants. In line six, the speaker brings us a smell by saying congress. Roethke must
mean just the coming together or gathering of smells. In line seven, the speaker give us another sense
of smell, Roots ripe as old bait, pulpy stems, rank, silo rich, leaf mold, manure, lime, piled against
slippery planks. He gives us this image and the sense of smell of mold and rot to show it is still life.
These words for example would be ripe, pulpy, rank, and rich. The last two lines, Nothing would give
up life: Even the dirt kept breathing

Dimensions of Service, which outlines the five targets of the organization as it pertains to service. I
believe these targets are realistic, necessary and embody the main principle of Alpha Kappa Alpha and

Suspense is a state or condition of mental uncertainty or excitement, as in waiting a decision or

The score used in The Silence of the Lambs was calming , loud, and creepy music. The calming music

Truth Is Culturally Relative
The quality of being true is related to something clear, without any uncertainty. This is perfectly
summarized by the Greek word for truth is ἀλήθεια (alétheia), from the privative prefix ἀ (a ),
meaning not , and λήθε ( lethe), oblivion , which, as Martin Heidegger (2001) explained by analysing
its etymology, refers to the state of not being hidden . Truth is a cross issue, that embraces everything
related to humans, from the most ordinary aspect of daily life, to the most deep religious thought. The
need to find what is true is part of the human nature, but as the German philosopher Edmund Husserl
(1965) stated, that same nature, which gave us the need of knowledge, at the same time bound us to
subjectivity, limiting our understanding to judgement and interpretation, thus, truth can only be
obtained gradually, through a never ending task. This process of understanding finds its ancient roots
in Greece, in the VII VI century B.C., when philosophy was born and the slow loss of universal
certainties has started. The very first interest of philosophers was that to define the concept of Being, a
wide notion that embraces objective and subjective features of reality. Throughout the philosophy of
truth, objectivism and subjectivism lead to the development of the two major approaches to reality,
Relativism and Universalism. One of the first interpretation of truth and knowledge was given by the
sophists, and it finds its primary source in Protagoras fragment of all

Categorical Imperative By Immanuel Kant
The issue of moral and immoral decisions are something that challenges every person at various points
of their life. A majority of the world s population relies on their religion, and God to guide them in
making those decisions. This however does set up an argument for the issue of being able to choose
the right moral path based on intellect regardless of religion or belief in a God. Immanuel Kant s
Categorical Imperative, arguably what he is best known for can be summed up for an argument for
making the right moral decision, as if they applied to everyone equally. This can be done using a
person s sense of reason, and consideration for others. Likewise these imperatives are the moral
obligations you need to follow, despite your desires. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I found this profound because I had come to realize that these men were being punished for the actions
of one individual. Also these men were in majority no older than me at 19, and simply needed a job or
wanted to defend their country. I felt as though there was no need to be unnecessarily mean to them,
and to treat them with such distain. It was at that point I made the moral decision that I wouldn t treat
people like regardless of what was going on around me.
Kant s concept of the Practical Imperative is that Act in such a way that you always treat humanity,
whether in your own person of another, never simply as a means but always at the same time as an end
, taking this to a modern sense is to recognize the humanity of the people around you and recognize
that other people have their own lives, goals, and deserve to be treated as such. This also goes to not
using people for your own benefit, this is regardless whether or not they are aware of it or not.
Likewise not to deceive or lie, it is a personal obligation to be truthful, regardless of the consequences.
This again can come back to the Christian belief system in that Love thy neighbor , the irony is not
lost, however with Kant s very strict Catholic upbringing its apparent he took what he was taught and
built upon it which is evident.
Kant s Kingdom of Ends, goes in hand with his idea of the Practical Imperative. This being that all
people have within themselves

The Not So Glamorous Reality of Best in Show Dogs
For over a century breeders have shown off their wonderful dogs in large scale dog shows such as
Westminster or Crufts. It is a great tradition and celebration for most and an event anticipated by many
dog lovers. Breeders from all over the nation come to compete with their champion show dogs, in
which they have invested a great amount of time, money, and energy. Every competitor dreams of
ultimately winning the glorious title of best in show.
However, behind the glitz and glamour of the dog shows there is a dark reality for these pedigree
dogs. The majority of the dogs in shows suffer from a variety of genetic diseases, disorders and
deformities that are specific to their breed. The Kennel Clubs that manage the dog shows have a book
of breed standards that dog breeders follow religiously. The problem with these breed standards is the
fact these standards are only based off of what they believe would be the best features for the dog s
overall appearance. These do not take the general health of the animal into consideration. On the
contrary, some of these standards actually make genetic defects more desirable in a purebred dog
because the physical features in these particular standards are an indicator of deformity. For example,
the standarsd set for the Rhodesian Rigdebackinclude the requirement for the characteristic ridge on
their back, which is a line of hair going in the opposite direction of the rest of the dog s coat. Although

I do agree with my moms assessment of my writing. Especially about my main points being really
convincing. When I was doing the research about negative effects GMO has on society. I was actually
really sadden by what I discovered. Specifically the way animals are treated.
2. How would you improve your writing/project based on the feedback you received from your
classmate? (Be specific.)
I would improve my writing by adding information on whether there is a difference between the cost
of non GMO products and GMO products. Really because I feel that information could have be a
really great piece of evidence. If people found out that their paying more for genetically modified
foods. Then they just might agree with my claim that GMO should not be sold for human use.
3. How do you feel about the overall experience of using peer review to help improve your

Roof Failure
Where To Look For Roof Damage As a homeowner, you may have heard about the importance of
doing your own roof inspection. Unfortunately, it can leave you wondering what you should even be
looking for when doing the inspection on your own. Here are two key areas to check out on your roof
to discover damage to your roof early on. Flashing Your roof will have metal pieces of it known as
flashing. It is installed around things that come out of your roof, such as a ventilation pipe, chimney,
or skylight. These crucial pieces of metal can become damaged over the years, which will cause the
metal to become rusted, missing, or peel back from the structure it is protecting. Leaving damaged
flashing on your roof can lead to water getting underneath

Individuals With Disabilities Education Act Analysis
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) originated from an act that was first enacted
in 1975 which was later expanded to IDEA in 1990 and was amended a few times into its current form
in 2011. This legislation was designed to ensure that all children with disabilities receive an
appropriate education through special education and related services(Vaughn, 2018, p. 7). The major
provisions that should be known and followed by districts, schools, and teachers to ensure that all
students are incorporated into an appropriate setting in the school system are:
Zero Reject
Nondiscriminatory Identification and Evaluation
Fee Appropriate Public Education (FAPE)
Least Restrictive Environment (LRE)
Procedural Safeguards

The inclusion classroom has many advantages and disadvantages for the SPED and general education
students, with many factors influencing the effectiveness of inclusion(Vaughn, 2018, p. 37) and based
on my experiences the most important factor is the placement of each student to where they can be
successful without slowing down or disrupting the learning of all students. Consequently, inclusive
settings can be effective for some, although not all, students with disabilities(Vaughn, 2018, p. 37).
Observed advantages for SPED students include exposure to on level content, higher order social
interaction, observing appropriate(hopefully) classroom behavior; and if successful with content,
greater confidence and feeling of self worth. General education students build acceptance and
tolerance for others, have opportunities for peer tutoring, and have access to additional personnel for
more intensive instruction. In contrast, classrooms with placement issues lead to many disadvantages
which slows down the classroom for on level students but is still too fast for SPED students,
consequently becoming a disservice to both groups. Behavioral problems arise due to high level
student boredom and/or struggling students giving up resulting in distractions to other students and
taking away instructional time while the teacher manages the disruptors. Due to lack of success,
struggling students also experience confidence issues and a deterioration of their mental

  • 2. Child-Rearing Child Development Throughout the forces of nature versus nurture, biological or hereditary information and day to day interactions that children encounter in their environment play a significant role in childhood development. The feeding and communication milestones are associated with childhood development and are important to the overall expansion of the individual. Each milestone is outlined and portrays what an individual should have accomplished within the period. Throughout a home or teaching practices used in elementary or secondary education, common practices in child rearing are enforced. There are several positive and negative effects of each child rearing practice that could be changed to promote better individual development and growth. The forces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using the principles of development learned in this course the authoritarian parent and the uninvolved parent could both make significant changes in order to promote better individual development and growth. A child may develop an aggressive behavior with an authoritarian parent and their externalizing and internalizing problems stem from this type of parenting style. (Braza, P. 2015) The authoritarian parent expects their child to be absolutely obedient and this often times leads to the child having a higher than normal likely of getting in trouble. These kinds of parents keep control of their children s behaviors as much as possible and create firm rules so the child knows the consequences of breaking the rules. Authoritarian parents develop similar patterns of parenting within the other sources of child bearing. Authoritarian parents often times score higher due to children searching for independence in the developmental process which increases conflicts. (Luyckx, K. 2011) Often time s children from these authoritarian families can be less resourceful and have a lower self esteem. Authoritarian parents create a solid behavior process for their children but often create the idea that a child must lie to do what he or she wants to do. A parent in this aspect can be so focused on their child always following the rules that once a child makes a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

WRITE AN ACCOUNT THAT DESCRIBES THE UNSAFE PRACTICES IN THE REVIEWS. REPORT 1 Concerns at Winterbourne View Hospital first came to light after a charge nurse raised the issues with the hospital in October 2010 and his allegations were passed on to the local authority, South Gloucestershire council, in its capacity as lead safeguarding agency and then relayed to the CQC in December 2010 but nothing was done. In May 2011 the BBC released undercover footage about the appalling way vulnerable residents at Winterbourne View Hospital were being treated, once the footage was released it came into light that the owners ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Inspectors who visited Winterbourne View considered taking urgent action to close the centre, but decided that it was in the best interests of the patients to allow NHS and local authority commissioner s further time to find alternative placements. CQC ensured that there would be an immediate stop on admissions and that extra staff would be brought in to protect patients until they could be moved. When they were satisfied that those arrangements were in place, CQC took enforcement action to remove the registration of Winterbourne View, the legal process to close a location. The hospital closed in June. The report is full of unsafe practices such as; The providers had failed in its legal duty to notify the Care Quality Commission of serious incidents including injuries to patients or occasions when they had gone missing. Staff did not appear to understand the needs of the people in their care, adults with learning disabilities, complex needs and challenging behaviour. Winterbourne view was not compliant with 10 of the essential standards which the law requires providers must meet. People who had no background in care services had been recruited, references were not always checked and staff were not trained or supervised properly. Some staff were too ready to use methods of restraint without considering alternatives. REPORT 2 In July 2006, Steven Hoskin was found ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Queen Elizabeth also was more of a quick bite type queen. She watch performers perform and takes small bites of food as she watched. Queen Elizabeth liked meat for different occasions, such as big events that were going on in the kingdom. The seasoning on the meat, I m thinking, was one of the toppings that caught her taste buds quicker than any other food she ate. For many years, the education system on all levels has been teaching students what it means to have privilege, and how life would be if they did not. Usually, the white students are the subject of privilege, and the minority student are the subject of life with racism, and without privilege. White privilege has been an underlying lesson to students for generations, and contributes to the power and superiority white people feel over everyone else. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is not done in conspicuous ways, though. In both subtle and overt ways, the hidden curriculum works to re produce and re inforce the inequalities that exist in society. Studies show that streaming practices, teacher expectation and pedagogy, as well as the curriculum itself, all work to disadvantage certain racialized and minoritized youth on the basis of race, gender and class (Dei et. al. 2004. 94). First of all, there is the hidden curriculum that is taught by the teachers. This curriculum would consist of, for example, historical facts being distorted in order to hear only one side of the story. In many history classes, students receive the Canadian or American perspective, and that perspective is of white people who wrote the history books in order to favour certain facts. It also includes the way the teachers actually treat students. Positive and negative reinforcement impacts the students psych in a way that will leave a lasting impression. If a teacher praises a white student constantly for doing a job well done, but does not treat a non white student in the same way, that will leave the impression that the white student is better and smarter, and that pushes the hidden curriculum. Next, the curriculum works to re inforce the problems society already has. In the work force, it is a common known fact that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Early in my third year I had the opportunity to spend a half day per week with a local radiologists in a small hospital while on my Family Medicine clerkship. Among many interesting cases, I remember one in particular. Mrs. P was in her second trimester and had undergone an ultrasound revealing a low lying placenta. The radiologist met with the Family medicine physician to inform them of the finding and discuss further management. Later that week I met the patient in clinic where she expressed gratitude that her diagnosis was made but uneasiness with what this meant for her pregnancy. However, there is a correlation between the number of carbon chains in the alcohol to the contraction of the mixture. Methanol has had the most volume contraction, while having the least amount of carbons in the molecule (CH3OH) having an average of 1.206ml in volume contraction. Whereas Isobutanol, which has the highest amount of carbon chains (C4H9OH), has had the least amount of average volume contraction of 0.578ml. According to the (Solubility of Things, n.d.), as the amount of carbon atoms increases in the molecule, the alcohol has less solubility in water. This is due to how there are more carbon atoms repulsing the water molecule, therefore having less contact as well as hydrogen bonding with the HO chain. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Water molecules contain a unique dipole property, having the hydrogen atoms being slightly more positive than the oxygen atom, which allows for the attraction between OH chains. Although an alcohol molecule contains an OH chain, carbon atoms repulse the water molecules while having a weaker dipole force leading to less volume contraction. Furthermore, due to any disturbances such as heat or kinetic energy as well as the repulsion from the carbon atoms they are constantly transitioning throughout the mixture. This is evident from the solubility of isobutanol and water. As there is a high amount of repulsion between water and alcohol molecules, the alcohol floats, although there is minute change in volume (refer to results). • 25. Nigger Definition Essay What word makes you cringe but you use daily? A word with arguably the most negative connotation, but is used frequently by only one race. The word that comes to mind for me is Nigger. This word is one of the many other things the white man stole from other cultures. Used as a derogatory, demeaning term. Over the years, we, the African American community, took the word and turned into a word of endearment, something that we use to speak of or to another black man/woman. Growing up, I lived in two of the most diverse cities in America. Queens, New York and Houston, Texas, so I personally have never experienced racism in my life, until my family and I stopped at Vider, Texas for gas. As a young child, my older cousins would say the word nigger or nigga as frequently as the word bro or dude. It is a way to refer to your fellow African American. Every time the word was used, it was greeted with a smile and a nod signifying love and respect. I wasn t aware that the word was once used to demine blacks. We walked into to a gas station, and ... He said the word nigger comes from his home land of Ethiopia. He told me the word was Negus , but the white man took it and distorted it. I asked him if it just meant black like negro and negre do. He told me no. The meaning of Negus is king, emperor, or ruler. They stole the word and turned it from a word of respect to a word of hate. So now we are taking our word back and using it how it was truly intended to be used. It is used to show love to another brother. To show that we can overcome ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We are given that something is refusing to sleep that is, to die and at the same time being dank gets us thinking about things that are undead . In line two, the speaker states, Bulbs broke out of boxes hunting for chinks in the dark. This tells us that things are still growing and they are looking for the light. In the next following line the speaker mentions, Shoots dangled and dropped (3). This gives us the image of the shoots coming out of the bulbs. The shoots dangle and droop towards whatever light possible. In line four, the speaker gives us an idea of the type of housing they are in, mildewed crates. The moisture creates mold and mildew. It also creates prettier life like plants. As you can see, mold and mildew are life, and they grow alongside the plants. In line six, the speaker brings us a smell by saying congress. • 34. Truth Is Culturally Relative The quality of being true is related to something clear, without any uncertainty. This is perfectly summarized by the Greek word for truth is ἀλήθεια (alétheia), from the privative prefix ἀ (a ), meaning not , and λήθε ( lethe), oblivion , which, as Martin Heidegger (2001) explained by analysing its etymology, refers to the state of not being hidden . Truth is a cross issue, that embraces everything related to humans, from the most ordinary aspect of daily life, to the most deep religious thought. The need to find what is true is part of the human nature, but as the German philosopher Edmund Husserl (1965) stated, that same nature, which gave us the need of knowledge, at the same time bound us to subjectivity, limiting our understanding to judgement and interpretation, thus, truth can only be obtained gradually, through a never ending task. This process of understanding finds its ancient roots in Greece, in the VII VI century B.C., when philosophy was born and the slow loss of universal certainties has started. The very first interest of philosophers was that to define the concept of Being, a wide notion that embraces objective and subjective features of reality. Throughout the philosophy of truth, objectivism and subjectivism lead to the development of the two major approaches to reality, Relativism and Universalism. One of the first interpretation of truth and knowledge was given by the sophists, and it finds its primary source in Protagoras fragment of all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Categorical Imperative By Immanuel Kant The issue of moral and immoral decisions are something that challenges every person at various points of their life. A majority of the world s population relies on their religion, and God to guide them in making those decisions. This however does set up an argument for the issue of being able to choose the right moral path based on intellect regardless of religion or belief in a God. Immanuel Kant s Categorical Imperative, arguably what he is best known for can be summed up for an argument for making the right moral decision, as if they applied to everyone equally. This can be done using a person s sense of reason, and consideration for others. Likewise these imperatives are the moral obligations you need to follow, despite your desires. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I found this profound because I had come to realize that these men were being punished for the actions of one individual. Also these men were in majority no older than me at 19, and simply needed a job or wanted to defend their country. I felt as though there was no need to be unnecessarily mean to them, and to treat them with such distain. It was at that point I made the moral decision that I wouldn t treat people like regardless of what was going on around me. Kant s concept of the Practical Imperative is that Act in such a way that you always treat humanity, whether in your own person of another, never simply as a means but always at the same time as an end , taking this to a modern sense is to recognize the humanity of the people around you and recognize that other people have their own lives, goals, and deserve to be treated as such. This also goes to not using people for your own benefit, this is regardless whether or not they are aware of it or not. Likewise not to deceive or lie, it is a personal obligation to be truthful, regardless of the consequences. This again can come back to the Christian belief system in that Love thy neighbor , the irony is not lost, however with Kant s very strict Catholic upbringing its apparent he took what he was taught and built upon it which is evident. Kant s Kingdom of Ends, goes in hand with his idea of the Practical Imperative. This being that all people have within themselves ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is a great tradition and celebration for most and an event anticipated by many dog lovers. Every competitor dreams of ultimately winning the glorious title of best in show. However, behind the glitz and glamour of the dog shows there is a dark reality for these pedigree dogs. The majority of the dogs in shows suffer from a variety of genetic diseases, disorders and deformities that are specific to their breed. The Kennel Clubs that manage the dog shows have a book of breed standards that dog breeders follow religiously. The problem with these breed standards is the fact these standards are only based off of what they believe would be the best features for the dog s overall appearance. These do not take the general health of the animal into consideration. On the contrary, some of these standards actually make genetic defects more desirable in a purebred dog because the physical features in these particular standards are an indicator of deformity. The inclusion classroom has many advantages and disadvantages for the SPED and general education students, with many factors influencing the effectiveness of inclusion(Vaughn, 2018, p. 37) and based on my experiences the most important factor is the placement of each student to where they can be successful without slowing down or disrupting the learning of all students. Consequently, inclusive settings can be effective for some, although not all, students with disabilities(Vaughn, 2018, p. 37). Observed advantages for SPED students include exposure to on level content, higher order social interaction, observing appropriate(hopefully) classroom behavior; and if successful with content, greater confidence and feeling of self worth.
