2. Rhode Island Vs South Dakota Essay
South Dakota vs Rhode Island How much of a difference is there in the daily life of a midwesterner
compared to an east coast resident? How does one s life differ in the same country, but across a
distance of over 1,551 miles? These factors are what makes one area or another a highly sought after
place to live. Comparing my time living in North Kingston, Rhode Island to my time living in
Garretson, South Dakota will show that both are great places, but the atmosphere and daily life of
Rhode Island really set the two places apart, making it a better place to live. To illustrate my point,
there are enough beaches in Rhode Island one could go to a different beach everyday for weeks. The
cities and towns are stock full of things to do, ranging from parks, historic sites, and places to shop or
swim. Only in the Ocean State can one buy a refreshing cup of Del s lemonade or go to the Bite Me
Bait store where you can get anything from keychains or clothing to fishing gear. On the contrary,
living in South ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The availability for space and the access the state of Rhode Island has to seemingly endless amounts
of beaches give the area an extremely competitive housing market, where pocket sized houses with
sand boxed sized yards sell for more than $400,000. This exclusivity even causes people to have to
wait for generations to be able to purchase dock space in Newport. One major difference I have
noticed from living in the two different areas is in the attitude of the people and environment.
Compared to more conservative states like South Dakota, the people of Rhode Island are much more
open minded. A lot of the people in the city are much more open to growth, change, or stepping
outside of their comfort zones. Whereas here in South Dakota, residents become accustomed to more
sheltered environments; for example the small

3. Macbeth s Order Of The Universe
Salma Bora
Mrs.Gritte
Pre AP English I
09 March 2017 Macbeth s Order of the Universe
Elizabethan ideologies are based on the Great Chain of Being . The people believe that in an ordered
universe, everything is ranked in order of their superiority. This order coincides with all religious
beliefs as well as the political system. All inhabitants of earth are ranked in the following order: God,
angels, king, man, animals, plants, inorganic material, and lastly, chaos. The king is similar to a God
on earth, so any ill willed acts against the king is a direct attack on God. In The Tragedy of Macbeth
written by William Shakespeare, there is a breakdown of order throughout Scotland when Macbeth
kills King Duncan. This destruction is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, just by wanting to become more manly when she was meant to be a woman by God, Lady
Macbeth is affecting the order of the universe even before the murder even takes place. You lack the
season of all natures, sleep (3.4.140). Sleeping is essential for maintaining health, but since Macbeth
committed unnatural acts of murder against the innocent, his health, along with mentality, is at a risky
state a curse from nature itself all caused by disrupted sleep. Not only is his crime evident in the order
of the universe, but also with his internal order.
The killing of Duncan leads to a very bizarre switch in roles within nature. A falcon, tow ring in her
pride of place,/Was by a mousing owl hawked at and killed, (2.4.13 14). This reversal brings
discomfort, since even the animal kingdom is starting to be affected by the unravelling of chaos. An
even worse example, King Duncan s horses, Beauteous and swift, the minions of their race,/Turn d
wild in nature, broke their stalls, flung out,/War with mankind. (2.4.15 16,18). There is nothing a king
trusts more than his valiant steed, and similarly both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were trusted vassals
of King Duncan, who was oblivious of their traitorous nature. However, even the most trusty steed can
turn his back on his master upon smelling the faintest scent of fear. Thus, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth
s thirst for power filled to the extent where they were willing to overthrow their master.

4. Landscaping Design
Landscaping Designs That Bridge the Gap between Art and Functionality
Most people see landscaping design and garden functionality on two different levels. Ask yourself: Do
you want to create a garden which is a work of art meant only to be viewed, or do you want to create
an extension to your home that will allow you more comfort and more pleasurable moments in your
backyard? In order to achieve the latter, while considering the aspects of colours, shapes and balance,
the design should always go hand in hand with purpose. A retaining wall or a bench can be turned into
a work of art, without hindering the functionality of the garden. We picked out 4 garden elements that
easily bridge this gap.
Terraced Planters
One of the most striking elements that you can incorporate in your garden are terraced planters. They
offer layers of options, since you can view each level as a separate garden. You can experiment by
mixing blooms with interesting architectural greenery, or by mixing different shades of the same
flower, or by installing lighting fixtures that provide an intriguing game of shadows. But apart from
that, terraced planters are the most effective element against soil erosion and sometimes the only way
to have a garden on an otherwise impossible location.
Green Walls

Even the simplest of containers and the least decorative of plants work in these little secluded paradise
gardens. Their growing popularity speaks in support of their functionality. Apart from creating a
peaceful retreat for people from the life in concrete jungles, green roofs last almost twice as long as
the conventional roofs. The growing medium protects the roof surface from the elements and
contributes to its durability. It also acts like natural insulation and can reduce energy costs by reducing
the air conditioning needs. On a wider scale, these roofs improve air quality and reduce the effect of
urban heat

5. The At The North Texas Teen Book
Hi everyone! This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending The North Texas Teen Book Festical
in Irving, TX. It was so much fun, and honestly it was one of the best weekends of my life. This post
is just an overview of some pictures and the things I did. Let s begin! (All the bloggers/booktubers I
mention will be linked at the end!)
Friday
Friday was educator s day, but they had an author luncheon that was open to the public. The authors at
the luncheon were Sarah Dessen, Ruta Sepetys, and E. Lockhart. I met up with my friend, Avery, to go
to the event. As we were sitting in the lobby, we saw Marie Lu walk in and I started freaking out. I
wanted to go and ask for a picture, but I was too shy to go up to her. We went inside and sat at a table
close to the front (closest to the reserve author table).
As we were sitting there, I look in the corner and Ruta Sepetys (AKA ONE OF MY FAVORITE
AUTHORS) is standing in the corner. Avery and I went over to talk to Ruta, and she was absolutely
adorable. If you ever have the chance to meet Ruta, please seize your opportunity because she s
absolutely brilliant. Avery and I got a picture with her.

We finally got the courage to take a picture with Marie Lu, so here s my picture with Marie:

7. Comparing The Domino Theory And The Spread Of Communism

Domino Theory, and The Spread of Communism Communism, as defined by Dictionary.com, a theory
or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership
being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state. In the time leading up to the actual start of
the Vietnam War, America was going through what is known as the Second Red Scare, which is the
fear of a communist America. Many americans fear of communism also led them to look towards
Southeast Asia and the spread of communism there. This where the concept of Domino Theory comes
in, which was the belief that if left unchecked, communism would spread and eventually consume all

it, many Americans were outraged by what they saw and took up sides either for or against the war.
For the first time, many that came back from the war were treated as less than human for what had

8. Comfort Women During World War II
Comfort Women Being a comfort woman during World War II was dehumanizing, involuntary and
unforgivable. Wherever Japanese troops were stationed comfort women were causing many
controversies with other countries. Many of these women are still alive and have recently begun to
speak about their experiences. Comfort women were Asian women forced to serve as sexual slaves for
Japan s Imperial Army soldiers in brothels (Hirata 131), is the most common way to explain comfort
women. The recruitment of these women was often sneaky or forced. Women from Taiwan and Korea,
colonies of Japan at the time, were recruited for work misinterpreting the comfort services as visiting
wounded soldiers. Also in these colonies young women were ... Show more content on

was ignored for forty five years. In 1948 the Netherlands was the first place anyone became concerned
and tried to punish the soldiers. Some Japanese officers were convicted of forcing thirty five Dutch
women into comfort stations but there were not any trials where the native women were plaintiffs. In
1990 the Korean Council for Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery was created and went to trial
in Japan. Shortly after, individual women filed lawsuits and wanted an apology and compensation but
Japan refused, and still does today. Eventually in 1992 a discovery of documents in the archives of
Japan s National Defense Agency forced Japan s government to admit they were directly involved in
the use of comfort women as sex slaves. In 1995 the Japanese government had admitted moral
responsibility and set up the Asia Women s Fund. The Asia Women s Fund was supposed to supply
remaining comfort women with compensation and an informal signed apology from the prime
minister but it was rejected by the comfort women because of it being informal

9. The Importance of Night in Macbeth
When I thought about the role that the word night would play in the tragic play Macbeth, I found that
there were a variety of possibilities. Immediately, I thought of the nighttime as a period of rest and
revitalization. I expected that this would allow characters to recover from the day s many demands.
Secondly, I connected the night to the unknown. In the night s cloak of darkness, many more things
could go undiscovered than in the revealing light of day. Next, I thought that the night would mean
vulnerability. As the evening closes in, everyone begins to wind down, not expecting any real action
until the breaking of the dawn. In addition, while one is sleeping, they are susceptible to almost
anything. The most logical time to make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The night, however, gives her the impression that Macbeth can indeed kill King Duncan with no one
uncovering his contemptible crime, the same idea that Macbeth had when he said, Stars, hide your
fires; / Let not light see my black and deep desires... (I,iv,50). The night s darkness even allows them
to believe that they can hide Macbeth s sin from God, the all knowing One. Next, we find an excellent
example of night causing vulnerability in act II, scene iii. As King Duncan slumbers in his chambers,
Macbeth, bidding the firm set earth not to hear his steps, enters and slays the innocent and unaware
monarch (56). Another key example of night s connection to vulnerability occurs in act III, scene iii,
when the unsuspecting Banquo is murdered as he returns to Inverness. If Banquo had returned in the
light of day, the three murderers surely would not have attempted to kill the nobleman. Finally, one
can recognize the major role that night plays regarding evilness in Macbeth. All of the evil things that
Macbeth does in the story occurs in the nighttime. Lennox states, ... the obscure bird / Clamored the
livelong night. Some say, the earth / Was feverous and did shake, in reaction to Macbeth s first evil
act, killing the king of Scotland, as seen in my word journal. Animals and even the earth itself could
sense the horrible sin that Macbeth had

10. African American Role Models
Almost everyone has someone they look up to. A person who inspires you in any way, shape or form.
People that fulfill this role are very important, and can really define who you become. These people
are called role models, and over the course of history there have been many. Religous figures like
Jesus Christ, presidents like Abraham Lincoln and protestors like Martin Luther King Jr. have always
been great inspirations. But the past decades a new brand of role models has arisen, celebrity role
models. People who have become famous thanks to their music or for example Hollywood. Especially
figures in the rap musical genre are trying to be role models for teens and adolescents all around the
United States. African American rap role models have become so important in contemporary United
States society because many African American adolescents and teens needs, but miss, a role model in
their daily life.
It is no secret the amount of African American celebrities has been increasing rapidly these past
decades. There has been a heavy increase in actors, musicans, rappers and other artists of African
American descent taking the stage. Movies like Straight Outta Compton ... Show more content on

causes.

11. Video Game Violence And Violent Video Games
Abstract The issue of video game violence seems to be a hot topic right now after several shootings
have occurred and made a connection to the shooters being video gamers. In looking at past research it
is apparent that there seems to large amounts of research that contradict one work to another. Although
I would have been interested in conducting a poll of the publics opinion regarding the use of violent
video games and their connection to mass shootings I was not able to conduct the research. However,
for this paper I chose to conduct a literature analysis to see what research has been conducted and to
seek out gaps and themes in this research.
Introduction
After the elementary school shooting of Sandy Hook in 2012 this issue of violent video games became
a hot issue calling for a connection of violence to video games. However, the final investigative report
suggested that he was more a fan of nonviolent games (Ferguson, 2015). Video game violence is an
issue that continues to be studied due to the inability to come to a general conclusion on whether or
not the games provoke violence in connection to mass shootings. With shootings occurring and
receiving mass coverage the media and public often seek a person/item to place the blame on. After
the tragic events that left people dead or injured one of the topics that emerged was that of video
games affects/effects on the person. Over 85% of games contain some violence, and approximately
half of video games include

For several years, I have had an interest in virology and the spread and characteristics of various

individuals of illnesses that are not native to the area they live in and that they are not likely to
contract, I have always liked to remain informed out of my own curiosity and interest. Thus, I have
decided to write about malaria.
Malaria kills more people than any communicable disease except for tuberculosis. It is caused by four

Malaria, however, is not unique to Africa. There are a multitude of documented cases in Asia annually,
particularly in countries such as India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Malaria has also been
known to occur in portions of Iran and the Middle East. Lower altitude regions of South and Central
America also have their share of annual malaria cases, but control programs set up in those regions
typically keep things under control. Generally, North America, Europe, and the Carribean have been
highly successful in the control and elimination of malaria, although isolated, rare cases of local
transmission have occured in Haiti, Turkey, and the Dominican Republic.
Medical treatment for malaria is available and the disease is curable if promptly diagnosed and treated
well. This is crucial because those who have malaria parasites available for mosquitoes to feed on are
perpetuating the spread of the disease. However, if these people are treated with the appropriate drugs,
the parasites disappear from their bloodstream. This helps to reduce the transmission of the disease.
Unfortunately, not everyone is responsive to drug treatments for malaria and thus a variety of
alternatives need to be available. Not everyone with malaria parasites in their bloodstream shows the
symptoms of malaria and the disease itself is becoming resistant to some of the drugs used to treat

thinking the Hatter would not ask a riddle without knowing the answer. When Alice is unable to figure
out the riddle, the Hatter explains that there is no answer. He does not explain why he asked the riddle,
he simply says, I haven t the slightest idea (Alice 53). In which Alice replies, I think you might do
something better with the time, than waste it in asking riddles that have no answers (Alice 53). The
Hatter then responds with a lecture on Time, which he depicts as a person. Time being depicted as a
person makes no logical sense to Alice. In the end, Alice rebels during the trial scene when the King
said Rule Forty two. All persons more than a mile high to leave the court (Alice 88). Alice objects to
the absurd nature of the trial saying, Who cares for you? You re nothing but a pack of cards! (Alice

Copeland and other Realism theorist s show that World War One was caused by Germany (who was
fearing a decline), pushed for a preventative war against Russia and tried to make it seem as it was
Russia s fault. Realism is a theory that involves international politics focusing mainly on the role of
each nation state. The theory focuses on the motivations of each state by their own national interests
and usually disguise these interests as moral concerns (in order to get the citizens on board). There are
five major assumptions that go along with Realism. First states are the main actors. In the case of
World War One, Germany was focused on other country s rise due to their material capabilities and
geographic positions. Second, is that the international system is anarchic. During World War One,
there was no global government making sure a war did not happen. Every state was negotiating for
themselves, and Germany had no desire for peace. A third assumption of realism is each state is
uncertain of another state s intentions. Germany was afraid of what Russia would want once it became
industrialized

Aboriginal women played a significant role in the fur trade. Marriages between the Aboriginal women
and European men were a way of solidifying alliances between the two trading nations. These women
introduced the European traders to their language, culture, and people. As there were no European
women residing on the Hudson Bay during the fur trade, Aboriginal women were highly valued for
companionship. However they were useful for more than just that; the Aboriginal women were also
used as guides and teachers within the fur trade. In addition, through association with the Aboriginal

Memory is a rudimentary cognitive process, which plays a critical role in nearly all other important

On a sunny day in The Vatican, one of the most beloved popes died. Twelve cardinals were to vote for

Traveling over 5,000 miles they came to a little quiet school in Peachtree Corners with not much

of other professors and more qualified teachers. One of the officials said that kids are more clever and
like puzzles. So on they went, knowing that this mission could be fatal but they were up to the
challenge.
Once they arrived, they got to work to find out who these Cardinals were. However, the Vatican
granted access to only a few documents in the Secret Archives and only a few had the names of the
Cardinals. But with a Vatican official, they could gain more access to more documents including
secrets that The Vatican would allow outsiders to see. Since they knew it would be only a matter of

Claire (Molly Ringwald), basket case Allison (Ally Sheedy), brain Brian (Anthony Michael Hall), and
criminal John (Judd Nelson). The principal assigns them an essay on who you think you are, and
leaves them to do it. During this time each of them has a chance to finally tell his or her story, making
the other see them a little differently. When the day ends they question if school will ever be the same

you finally understand why he acts the way he does. John is a classic bad boy . His constant
antagonizing is part of his act to keep people at an emotional distance. John alternates between
wisecracking and indulging his genuine anger, digging into his messed up family life. Before this
scene you just see him as a boy who does everything for attention, tries to act cool all the time and
does not care about anyone but himself (Hughes).
The movie explains that John s delinquent tendencies come from his issues with his father. In this
scene he does an imitation of what he thinks Brian s family must be like and then Andrew asks him

RESEARCH amp; FACTS
The career I researched was that of a dietician. Someone who wishes to become a dietician must first
obtain a bachelor s degree, which would be considered a minimal requirement. Most dieticians will
tell you that it would be within the best interests of a student wishing to become a dietician to get a
master s degree. Dieticians must have a love for science (chemistry in particular) and algebra as these
skills are practiced routinely in the profession. It would also be a good idea for someone wishing to
become a dietician to take some kind of accounting or book keeping class, as dieticians must work on
and file multiple records for each of their patients.

Many dieticians prefer working for a hospital because there is already a structured environment set for
them there. Also, in a hospital a dietician never has to worry about running out of patients or getting
sued. A dietician practicing privately is at risk for litigation. Every year an evaluation is given by the
department manager or chairman to determine whether or not a dietician should be eligible for a raise
or promotion. In hospital environments it is frequent for dieticians as well as people of all professions
to get a small raise or bonus every few years.
As long as humans are eating food there will be a need for dieticians. Dieticians are in demand almost
everywhere in the nation. Wherever there is a need to help the obese, injured, and malnourished, there
will be a need for dieticians. Every hospital has a team of dietitians ranging in size depending on the
size and budget of the hospital as well as the workload they must share.
Jobs related to being a dietician would include any kind of therapy. In these fields, professionals must
create a path towards better health for their patients. A dietician might be helping someone lose weight
just like a physical therapist would help someone walk, or like a psychologist might help someone
work towards obtaining a stable mind.

main steps towards independence came because of Napoleon s invasion of Spain in 1808. The
monarchy was greatly weakened when Napoleon gave the crown to his brother causing the people of
Madrid to revolt. With Spain s back turned, the leaders of New Spain began to argue amongst
themselves. The viceroy was forced to allow the Criollos to participate in administration. Then, a
group of Peninsulares, those who had been placed in many of the administrative positions, did not like
that the Criollos were gaining any influence in the government. They staged a coup d etat and
overthrew the viceregal government.
Shortly before dawn on September 16, 1810, Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla made a monumentous
decision that revolutionized the course of Mexican history. Within hours, Hidalgo, a Catholic priest in
the village of Dolores, ordered the arrest of Dolores native Spaniards. Then Hidalgo rang the church
bell as he customarily did to call the indians to mass. The message that Hidalgo gave to the indians
and mestizos called them to retaliate against the hated Gachupines, or native

40. Analysis Of A Rose For Emily By Faulkner
In A Rose for Emily, Faulkner aims to commemorate Emily Grierson by illustrating the past events
throughout her life. Through Faulkner s perspective, Emily begins her life as a normal girl who had
high hopes and definite goals to find love; however, Emily experiences several hardships during her
youth that severely alters the person she hopes to become and signifies herself as an object of pity.
Faulkner subtly reveals her pity and regret towards Emily through the portrayal of the toxic
relationship she has with Homer. It is evident in the story that Emily is whole heartedly incapable of
letting Homer leave her. When Homer meets Emily, he seemingly fills a void that she has been
enduring since her father died. In response to being sheltered ... Show more content on

In the same way that Emily s father regulated her own life, she expresses this same control over
Homer in hopes of maintaining her newfound happiness. The narrator affirms one aspect of control
that Emily expresses: ...within three days Homer Barron was back in town. A neighbor saw the Negro
man admit him at the kitchen door at dusk one evening. And that was the last we saw of Homer
Barron (Faulkner 82). In this scenario, Emily illustrates her inability to let Homer leave her by forcing
him at her house. Irrational control cannot be present in order for a healthy, productive relationship.
Even worse, readers discover at the end of the story that Emily is satisfied when she finally achieves
full control over Homer. The narrator exclaims, The man himself lay in the bed. For a long while we
just stood there, looking down at the profound and fleshless grin (Faulkner 83). Emily, who is never
satisfied with her control over Homer, did the one thing she thought was best in order to make him a
part of her life forever. Faulkner considers Emily a subject of pity because she feels she had to go to
extremities murdering her true love to achieve

41. Early Southeast Asian Americans
The following questions will be analyzed based on Anthony Reid s work Early Southeast Asians
categorization of Europeans: How did Southeast Asians categorize Europeans? Was the classification
considered a racial ideology? How did the rating change over time? When Southeast Asians first
encountered the Europeans, they did not categorize them because the region was already highly
diverse ethnically and religiously. Since the Europeans were not classified based on their race, there
was no proof of racial ideology during the time Southeast Asians made contact with them. However,
there was evidence that over time, a negative relationship emerged between the Southeast Asians and
Europeans. The hostility was due to the Europeans firm belief that everyone ... Show more content on

To an extent, it can be seen as a racial ideology in the twentieth century due to the hostility Europeans
created in the region. In the early sixteenth century when the European knew their place and respected
the various cultures and customs of Southeast Asia, there was no need for racial ideology. The
different groups in the region were able to coexist and put the several economic benefits of trading
available in the area before antagonism. Unfortunately, the Europeans once again could not cohabitate
long enough without implementing hierarchies and the entitlement of being superior. The European s
activity in the region disrupted a peaceful Southeast Asian society over time, which resulted in an
unnecessary racial classification of the

42. Andrew Jackson Bibliography
Internet Bibliography I chose Andrew Jackson as my topic for my internet bibliography. I chose this
topic because I ve heard some intriguing facts about Andrew Jackson before, and I wanted to learn the
details of them. Also, I wanted to learn more about our 7th President. I ve always heard that he was an
avid duelist, and that Andrew Jackson used his own cane to beat a man, who tried to assassinate him. I
wanted to know the details about both of these events, so I decided to dig deeper into Andrew Jackson
s life. My first site that I used for my internet bibliography was on the external links. I decided to use
the The Hermitage: Andrew Jackson link as my starting point. The layout and organization of this site
was phenomenal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After some slight scrolling, I came across the headline Andrew Jackson: A lunatic that became
President. Without any delay, I clicked on the link to the site and was brought to a green webpage. At
my first glance, I noticed the site had a cluttered feeling to me. The ads on the top of the page and
along the right side were annoying at times, when scrolling on the site. I did find the photo shopped
bottles of Jack Daniels, that were in Jackson s hands in each photo hysterical. I found myself unable to
keep a straight face as I read the author s spin on Andrew Jackson s life. Some of the information was
facts I ve read other places, but other information was hard to separate between fact and fiction. Hands
down, my favorite part had to be when the author gave his take on John C. Calhoun. I belly laughed
for a good ten minutes. I m ecstatic that I came across this website, but I wouldn t say this is the best
site from which to retrieve information. Although, it was well worth the

43. The Errors Of Second Language Learners
Many researchers in the field of error analysis have stressed the significance of errors of second
language learners. Corder (1967), for example, in his important article, notes that they are significant
in three different ways. First, to the teacher, in that they show how far towards the goal the learner has
progressed. Second, they provide to the researcher evidence of how a language is acquired, what
strategies the learner is employing in his learning of a language. Thirdly, they are indisputable to the
learner himself because we can regard the making of errors as a device the learner uses in order to
learn (p. 161).One of the most difficult challenges handled by non native speakers of English is
understanding the system of English articles. This study aims at providing a comprehensive account of
the types of errors produced by Persian speaking learners of English in their use of articles. Data were
collected from 120 sentences produces by Persian speaking learners of English which written in error
analysis and interlanguage analysis book by M. Bemani Naeini (1387). Analysis of errors in students
written samples revealed that while students made a considerable number of errors in their use of
articles, omission errors were the most frequent, while substitutions were the least frequent.
Additionally, among all types of omission errors identified, the omission of the indefinite article the
was the most frequent. In sharp contrast, the use of the indefinite article a

44. The Legal Drinking Age Should Be During The United States
In recent years, debate about what the legal drinking age should be in the United States has been
ubiquitous. People of all ages advocate both for and against lowering the age, and some people do not
even have an opinion. What has led people to their specific convictions, and what facts do they
possess that support these convictions? In the following paragraphs, this popular controversy will be
addressed as each position is thoroughly analyzed. Many people today advocate for the drinking age
to remain where it is, such as MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) and the president of the
American Public Health Association. MADD has been very active in recent years, whether it be
through lobbying or mass media appeals. They often use scientific evidence, statistics, and their
emotional appeal as mothers of dead children to coerce their audiences into believing that drunk
driving and the drinking age correlate. For example, Since the 21 law was widely enacted, the number
of young people killed annually in crashes involving drunk drivers under 21 has been cut in half, from
more than 5,000 individuals in the early 1980s to around 2,000 in 2005 (Dean Mooney). Using solid
numerical evidence boosts their appeal to logos, not to mention that these statistics are very easily
decipherable. It is obvious to any reader that, according to this passage, a higher drinking age leads to
less fatalities. The author of the piece mentioned here is also the national president of MADD, which
