The goal of cloud computing is to apply traditional supercomputing, or high performance computing
power, normally used by military and research facilities, to perform tens of trillions of computations
per second, in consumer oriented applications such as financial portfolios, to deliver personalized
information, to provide data storage or to power large, immersive computer games.
Feed cloud (FC), which is the key role of feed prefetching and pushing. In the FC, there is the main
feed base (FB), which stores all pre fetched feed contents, including the XML based updates of the
feed and all text, image, and multimedia contents of the original website. There is also a tempFB,
which temporarily stores new feeds, and once it is accessed by a required number of users, it will be
moved to FB. Every user has their own habit on mobile reading while she may be also in varying

Boeing Case Summary
The Boeing Aerospace Corporation was under investigation by the Justice Department in 2003, for
two high profile cases involving Pentagon contracting scandals, the judgment against the corporation
at that time was one of the fines against a military contracting company, the investigation took three
years and at the conclusion Boeing was fined $615 million and their reputation was smeared, their
stocks Shares of Boeing fell $1.15 to close at $85.86. Case one: in July 2003, the Pentagon stripped
Boeing of a $1 billion dollars in A rocket launch business for possessing proprietary documents stolen
from a competitor, Lockheed Martin. Nine employees were disciplined, while two executives were
indicted and Phillip Condit the Chief Executive resigned even though he was not charged with
improper acts. Boeing could not work with the federal government for twenty months. Case one:
Kenneth Branch was an engineer fired by the company and William Erskine had stolen 25,000 pages
of proprietary documents from Lockheed Martin Corporation and there were numerous employees

investigators have covertly been placed in the procurement offices at the Pentagon and the head of the

Women In College Degrees
Introduction
The female advantage in educational attainment is not a new phenomenon. More women than men
have graduated from college since 1950. The percentage of American women who are earning college
degrees has steadily increased over the past 50 years, and currently there are more women than men
earning every type of college degree. There are many explanations for this trend, however, this
analysis will focus on three areas including Feminism, Marriage and Divorce, and Economic Factors.
Feminism and Gender Revolution
Beginning in the late 1960 s young women s expectations of their future labor force participation
began to change radically. Rather than follow in their mothers footsteps, women s aims have been for
careers, not just jobs, and these careers have begun to differ from the traditionally female occupations
of women in the past. Today, women are steadily filing into occupations that were historically men s
domains. In addition to the modern possibilities of a greater investment in professional careers has
come the availability of the contraceptive pill. Because of contraceptives, women are better able to
plan their futures without the burden of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A college degree has replaced a high school diploma for entry into the middle class job market. In the
past, a responsible, hard working individuals could get by without a degree, but today, it is almost
impossible to get a good paying job without a college degree. It is also becoming increasingly difficult
for families to survive on one income as economic times become more unstable and so more and more
women are recognizing that they will be required to have an education and seek employment in order
to help provide security for their families. Careers resulting from college degrees are more flexible,
family friendly and provide higher wages which is beneficial to a dual income

Greenland Norse Collapse
The Choices Societies Make and the Challenges Surrounding Them The choices the Greenland Norse,
the people of Easter Island, and the people of Haiti made directly contributed to their societal collapse.
Their environmental fragility advanced their downfall, but ultimately their poor decision making led
to their collapse. The Greenland Norse s and people of Easter Island s incorrect choices were mostly
due to social challenges and reluctance to abandon traditions, but the incorrect choices of the Haitian
people were due to selfness and impulsiveness. The Greenland Norse are an excellent example of a
society that has collapsed because of the choices they have made, but they also serve as an example of
a society who suffered great challenges when considering these alternative solutions. In particular, the
Greenland Norse s lack of adaptability in the decision s they favored regarding hunting, livestock, the
relationship with the Inuit, and the need for European identity drove their society to a collapse. The
Norse came to Greenland with traditional hunting and livestock customs such as growing hay to feed
their large number of livestock. They practically ignored all other types of hunting that would have
benefitted them in their new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The separation the Haitian elite enacted and the poor judgment regarding the removal of the white
population in Haiti were two detrimental choices the Haitian people made. The majority of the Haitian
people did not make the first flawed choice. Much like the Greenland Norse, the wealthier citizens of
Haiti tried desperately to cling to European values and societal norms. Instead of helping the lower
class and making the collective economy of Haiti grow, Haiti s elite identified strongly with France
rather than with their own landscape, did not acquire land or develop commercial agriculture, and
sought mainly to extract wealth from the

The Pirates Of The Caribbe At Worlds End
Do you know how much work is put into making a film? Neither do I, but I helped direct a play so I
understand a good portion of it. Film making is not just getting a cast, handing them a script, and start
rolling the camera. It takes time, skill, and key elements to not only get the production ready but to get
across a message to the viewer. In The Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End (2007), Gore
Verbinski creates a visual and brings the viewer in on how it would feel like to be a pirate in a place
where you are not wanted or accepted. By using the three main formal elements mise en scene,
cinematography, and sound he makes you feel you are in th emovie for yourself. Without knowing
what these elements are or maybe knowing only the bare minimum you, may feel the movie is great in
general, but after reading and analyzing the step by step process on what it takes makes it even better.
Captain Jack Sparrow is last one of Pirate Lords of the Brethren Court who is needed to come together
to fight for the freedom of the pirates way of life. The opening scene is the most important and most
powerful because it sets a foundation for the rest of the film. In Fort Charles Port Royal, Lord Cutler
Beckett is doing a mass execution of pirates and pirates sympathizers. This is the beginning of the war
he started against piracy as he tired to gain control of the Dead Mans Chest. As people are lined up at
the gallows there is a young boy who starts to sing a pirate song, Hoist the

My Grandfather Is A Hero
When you finally realize that someone in your family is a hero to not just one person, but to many,
your view of the world changes a bit. Especially when that person is a grandparent. In March of 2014,
my grandfather, Raymond Weber, became a town hero in Hillsboro, ND. Early that morning, I got up
and said hello to my grandfather. He was just starting his day, and his day was busy. As Police Chief
of Hillsboro, he was required to clean out the town armory and make sure all the squad cars were in
working order (making sure the lights and sirens worked). He did this early in the morning and then
came back to pick me up so that I could shadow him as he worked. We did miscellaneous jobs all day.
My grandfather had me working on the jobs that he didn t want to do at the office while he did the real
work of paperwork and signing of other important papers that I couldn t understand. The real surprise
came later that night when we went into the town to do the final round of the shift. My grandfather
loaded me up in the squad car and started it. We drove around town on his designated route before he
was allowed to punch out and go home for the night. After we finished, we stopped at the precinct so
that he could make sure that there was someone there for the next shift. We then proceeded to head
back home. My grandfather decided that it would be nice for us to go get something to eat, so we
stopped at a nearby convenience store. We went in and bought some pizza

Marriage in Jane Austen´s Pride and Prejudice
Throughout the history of literature there have been many connections made between writers and their
reoccurring styles of writing found in each of their literary works. Jane Austen is only one example of
this type of author who exemplifies a style of repetition by using repetitious themes. Theme is a very
important literary element in any piece of literature. Themes teach the reader a life lesson, often times
lending advice or a point of view. In Jane Austen s novel, Pride and Prejudice, she uses themes which
can also be found in other pieces of literature written by Austen. These themes deal with the subjects
of; marriage, good breeding and appearances, social rank and morals, and happiness. In the novel

Darcy revels this fact to Elizabeth stating, I have no wish of denying that I did everything in my power
to separate my friend from your sister, or that I rejoice in my success. Towards him I have been kinder
than towards myself (pg 162). At the end of the novel Jane Bennet is completely in love and engaged
to Mr. Bingley, who reciprocates the feeling. Miss Bennet even breaks out of her shyness to flirt with
Mr. Bingley which is what proves to Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley that Jane does share his feelings of
attraction. Mrs. Bennet is an interesting character who is strong willed but at the same time not very
intelligent. Throughout the novel Mrs. Bennet makes foolish assumptions, decisions, and statements
that are clearly untrue and is one who changes her mind often depending on who is pleasing her at that
moment in time. Mrs. Bennet does however have somewhat of a grasp on the business affair idea of
marriage during this time period. She knows that in order to secure each of her daughters future she
will need to make sure they are all married to men who will be able to support them and their families.
Mrs. Bennet is persistent in finding her daughters future husbands and is happier than ever at the end
of the novel when she has three of her five daughters married off. Mrs. Bennet is blunt in stating her

Conflict In Holden s Life
Life is a series of moments that defines us. These moments can be happy or they could be filled with
disappointments. Life is about growing up. It s to become a successful individual with the talent
people receives. Other times people give up and that is why they become depressed and lonely. In The
Catcher in the Rye, Holden goes through conflicts, characterization, and allusions to reveal his main
purpose in life. Salinger describes Holden as a miserable boy that experiences internal conflict
throughout the novel. For example, Holden surrounds himself with negative conflict with the
mentality of judgement. Before the intentional physical altercation occurred Holden calls the man a
dirty moron (135) constantly verbally abusing him trying to get a reaction from the man. Holden then
experiences, [a] terrific punch in [his] stomach. (135) When Holden gets punched he doesn t move out
of the way, instead he accepts the punch. Holden also undergoes depression affecting his point of view

Social Cognition And Its Impact On Recovery Success
Schizophrenia is a severe and persistent mental disorder that has many facets to consider when
treating individuals with this condition. The ability to function in different areas of everyday life, both
in and out of the home, has been a goal seldom achieved by patients treated for schizophrenia. While
new approaches to treatment have been developed that focus on neurocognitive and social cognition,
many treatments fail to fully address the social environment and its impact on recovery success.
Success is not simply a reduction of symptoms but the improvement of neurocognitive and social
cognitive impairment. Neurocognitive aspects include working memory, visual memory, verbal

this study uses SCIT or Social Cognition and Interaction Training with the assistance of a close family
member or friend in the training protocol (F SIT), as their treatment condition, and the control group
simply received training in a social stimulation (SS) program. It was hypothesized that the treatment
group would improve their quality of life, social functioning and social cognition more than the basic
social stimulation group. Participants were recruited from the Celal Bayar University Psychosis Unit
and randomly assigned to each group in a 1:1 assignment. This was later changed to 1:2 to reduce a
variance discovered in the social stimulation group, which would decrease noise and improve data
quality. Data was collected at baseline, before randomization and sixteen weeks after randomization.
Of the originally recruited fifty two participants, 19 became part of the treatment group and 22 became
part of the control group. Both groups received fourteen weeks of treatment, with the treatment group
meeting every week and the control group meeting every three weeks, with final data collection
occurring two weeks after the end of the intervention. There were no statistically

Taking a Look at Surrogate Mothers
Surrogacy is a controversial issue nowadays. Surrogacy allows a woman to give the gift of parenthood
to a couple who would otherwise not have been able to experience it, either due to infertility or
inability to adopt a child. In some cases, the surrogate can obtain monetary compensation for her
services. According to Anderson (1990), A commercial surrogate mother is someone who is paid
money to bear a child for other people and to terminate her parental rights, to lead to a situation that
the others may raise the child as exclusively their own.
In the aspect of the intended parents, there are reasons for people who need the surrogacy service.
Firstly, Intended mothers can have a huge variety of health issues that make pregnancy impossible or
undesirable. For instance, some women s womb cannot support a fetus that they may miscarry for
many times that cannot get pregnant successfully. Secondly, there are also women that have biological
problems which affect their ability to reproduce. The reproductive system is complex and can cause
various ailments which make pregnancy impossible. Thirdly, some women may turn to surrogate
mothers because of severe health problems. While the woman may be healthy enough to be an
effective mother, her body may be unable to survive pregnancy. For example, some women would
choose to use a surrogate mother because they have heart problems which may cause the mother to be
unable to survive in a traditional child birth. There are also women that

A Thirst for Revenge is Unbeneficial
Is revenge worth it? Is satisfaction an inevitable feeling when the deed is done? Revenge is useless
and no one benefits from it. In Hamlet, all of the main characters died and in The Count of Monte
Cristo, the Count regretted one of his plots. An unintentional tragedy had occurred in the Villefort
household. The character Hamlet from the play, Hamlet by Shakespeare and Edmond Dantes from the
Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas demonstrate the idea that despite being unhealthy and

Edmond Dantes made everyone who mistreated him feel the pain that he had to suffer. When the
Count realized that he went too far with his revenge to Villefort, the narrator states, Monte Cristo
paled at the horrible sight. He realized that he had gone far beyond the limits of rightful vengeance
(Dumas 485). It was at this moment where the Count definitely regretted what he did. An innocent
child s life was lost because of Dantes actions. Monte Cristo s regret also shows when he states, And
God grant that I haven t done too much already! (Dumas 487). Although Monte Cristo did not mean
for Edouard, Villefort s young son, to die, that fate was already chosen once Dantes decided to seek
harsh retribution. It would have been better for the Count if he had only spent his fortune helping the
ones who have aided him. Rewarding instead of punishing will only satisfy one more. Before the
Count leaves Maximilien and his family, he says his good bye with the words, Madame, allow me to
repeat my visit another day. I like your house, and I m grateful to you for your reception, for this is the
first time I ve forgotten myself in many years (Dumas 220). Monte Cristo feels more relaxed since he
has done a good deed for his friends. The satisfaction that Dantes feels is more than when he is taking
revenge on his past

Environmental Justice Issue Of Environmental...
Introduction I propose to add the environmental justice issue of environmental discrimination into the
Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. To do so, I will investigate specific issues and regulation
deficiencies that are negatively impacting the Great Lakes reserves, and develop a plan of action on
your behalf. As you are aware, protecting the Great Lakes is critically important. It is not only the
largest source of freshwater in the United States but in the whole world. Indiana, Illinois, Michigan,
Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin border the Great Lakes, and all of those
states use it as a water source for a total of about 10 million people. Since the passing of the Clean
Water Act, industries like U.S. Steel Industry have been using the loopholes found in the bill to further
their profit, and as a side effect has caused damage to the water supply, disproportionately affecting
people in marginalized communities. By using these loopholes, the Great Lakes are continually
polluted, which causes appalling damage to the millions of people who use the water for drinking and
other water centric necessities. Also, aging infrastructure causes leaking pipes, corroding pipes that
jeopardize the water systems, and failing sewage treatment plants. These infrastructure problems not
only disproportionate effect marginalized communities but all communities suffer when the Great
Lakes become polluted. Since there is already an initiative to combat

offenses. It wasn t until the 19th century that reforms began to be considered and used on the behalf of
children. In the US, just before this time in Boston, individuals began advocate for children who were

Public Budget Deficit Has Generated Pressures On Domestic...
This chronic and growing public budget deficit has generated pressures on domestic savings and
increased the share of domestic savings that directed to cover the growing public deficit at the expense
of investment spending share. Ratios of public budget deficit to demand for domestic savings
fluctuated around upward sloping trend. This ratio recorded 40%, in average, with standard deviation
14.5% during the considered period. Panel (a) in figure (3) shows that despite ratio of investment
spending to demand for domestic savings recorded 84%, in average, with standard deviation 10.3%;
however, these ratios fluctuated around a relatively horizontal trend during the considered period.
Accordingly, it can be said that public budget deficit works as a constraint to investment spending.
Panel (b) may confirm this suggestion, as it shows that investment spending, as a percent of GDP, is
following a downward sloping trend especially after 2008, where ratios of public budget deficit to
demand for domestic savings started to follow an upward sloping trend. In other words, it can be said
that public spending competes with investment spending for domestic savings, a familiar problem
known as crowding out. Under such a circumstance, financing domestic investment is at the mercy of
foreign indirect capital flows which depend on the efficiency of financial markets and political status
and relations of the country. This goes in line with the finding of O.Helmy and C.Zaki (2015), as they

The Outcomes Of The Adoption Of Children With Special Needs
The outcomes of the adoption of children with special needs, Rosenthal stated, that Barth and Berry

Indeed, stability may be the greatest advantage of adoption. Risks increase with age. The Colorado

disrupted was 8.8 years, while that for children whose adoptions remained intact was 4.4 years.

large cities, making adoption medicine a new specialty (Nicholson, 2002; Tuller, 2001). Analysis of

Coco Chanel Biography
Today, one of the most important items that a woman must have in her closet is a little black dress and
Coco Chanel was the woman that made having one so important. Ms. Chanel had a very rewarding
career and, even today, her and her company are huge parts of the fashion world. While researching
her early life, lovers, career, and her death, there were many facts about Miss Coco Chanel that made
her a truly intriguing person to research. She seemed to have led a very interesting life, but she may
not have been happy. That is probably why she kept going for the richer and more powerful men and
why she lied so much about her past. The inconsistencies were evident throughout all the research,
even up to her cause of death.
In Saumur, France on August 19, 1883, Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel was born. At the time of her birth,
her parents were not married, but they did exchange vows when Ms. Chanel was a year old. When she
was twelve years old, her mother died. Her cause of death was from a respiratory infection, either
tuberculosis or bronchitis. Her father, then, sent her and her sisters to go live in Aubazine, a convent.
One resource states that the convent was too strict that Chanel ran away to Moulins to stay at a
boarding house for Catholic girls. (Coco Chanel Biography Childhood, Life Achievements Timeline)

was released; from there she went to go live in Moulins.

Evolution Of Cannon Essay
The Evolution of Cannons and Ammunition In the mid 19th century, the United States of America had
erupted into a civil war. Weaponry and military tactics were evolving at a rapid pace. Advancements in
weapon systems were increasing the maximum effective range of the weapons, thus making the
standoff distance between fighting forces much greater. To remain relevant the artillery had no other
alternative, but to progress with the other tools of warfare. The days of the smooth bore cannons for
breaching fortified walls and short range combat support were concluding. New technology and
advancements to increase range and lethality were imperative to keep the artillery in the fight. In the

The Repositioning of the Common House Phone
Demographics The repositioning of the common house phone is a challenge. One option for the phone
is to sell more landlines phones to developing world nations, but even there the growth possibilities
are slim. There are small markets like Belize, but in most countries landline infrastructure is becoming
limited. There are options, however, for repositioning the home phone in the United States, with some
modifications to the technology. Lardinois (2010) notes that Americans under the age of 35 are
unlikely to have a landline, as they use wireless devices for their computing needs. However, even
wireless devices rely on hardwire connections to the router. The common house phone can be
repositioned as a multi purpose device, emphasizing a number of different unique functionality
elements. The target market for the redesigned and repositioned common house phone is the same
market that has eschewed the phone to this point, the urban under 35s. Other target markets already
have house phones, so there is less sales potential. However, by making the common house phone
attractive to the younger demographic, there is strong growth potential in the new product. The
number of under 35s in the United States, according to data from the US Census Bureau is 145
million, and excluding minors the total target market is 62.65 million. Types of Research In order to
reposition the common house phone, substantial market research forms will need to be utilized. The

Analysis Of Howl, By Ginsberg
The standards of obscenity and what is and is not protected by the First Amendment has evolved as
the fields of literature and art have expanded. In 1956, the headlines were filled with mentions of
Howl being fought about in court. Howl, a poem written by Ginsberg, is focused on the outcast groups
of American society such as the mentally ill, members of the LGBT community, and drug users.
Originally, he did not intend for the poem to get out to the public due to the references from his own
life with past loves, friends, and experiences. But Ferlinghetti, overhearing the poem read for the first
time publically, offered to publish the poem. Soon afterwards, the poem was taken to court. The
personal bits and certain details of the poem got the poem sent to court where it was put through the
newer standards and reading practices to determine obscenity. At the end of the trial, the judge
determined that Howl was not be obscene and was protected by the First Amendment.
The law defined obscene material as writing with no value of any kind and with the purpose to ensue

Re: Improvement on Billing Process
We have received the request to evaluate the current management system and practices of Game Shop

information provided. Our team has concluded maintaining a good reputation in the industry is a
critical success factor for Game Shop Inc. because this industry is an oligopoly and anything that

The billing scorecards are informative to the PMs and others, however it does not seem to be
improving billing timeliness as the grades have not increased significantly on average(insert endnote).
The punitive nature of the scorecards (ie. Detention meetings) have the right goal in mind but may
cause managers to harbor resentment which most likely would not lead to the desired effect. Since the
P Cars focus more on procedures rather than personnel, we will focus our alternatives mainly on
procedural aspects as P Cars were the most successful.
Alternative 2:
Another alternative is to have an IT system that is integrated into the billing system. It can have
several advantages and resolve key issues effecting billing accuracy and timeliness. An important flaw
that an IT system will help address is efficiency in the billing process. Currently, billing work can only
be submitted once a week and reports take too long to download onto a PM s computer. With an
integrated system, bill processing time is reduced through automation. Since changes in estimates are
common, there can be a lot of paperwork submissions that have to go through the proper channels.
Automated entry saves time, money, and can be more accurate. Management is able to update POs
quickly and easily. Some customers might not be happy with the current system of receiving POs
because they quickly become obsolete. With

things in his lifetime, including a good relation with the king of Russia. For this research paper, we

afterlife. He was, in short, an astounding man to all. His beginning was like no other. Grigori Rasputin
was born on January 10th, 1869 in Pokrovskoye, Russia with his father, Efim Rasputin. His village,
being in the middle of almost nowhere and around 1650 miles to the capital of Russia at the time of
his birth, had little education. What was there was poor and untrue to certain standards, so he never
learned to properly read and write on his own. His brother, who is only known by Grigori s journals,

Black Hole Research Paper
Black Holes A simple star with low fuel turns into a strong, powerful black hole in space with 4 times
more mass than the sun. Discovered in 1916 by Albert Einstein, a black hole is an area of space time
showing very strong effects, that nothing can escape from the black hole. Space time is the belief that
there is no time in space, so there is no aging or time whatsoever. There are three different types of
black holes. Stellar mass, supermassive, and intermediate. All three are very strong, but the
supermassive is currently the strongest reported. Not all black holes are large, but extremely powerful.
The supermassive black holes are the biggest type of black hole and most of the time are found in the
center of massive galaxies. Stellar mass black holes are formed by a star collapsing. Intermediate
black holes are stronger than stellar mass black holes, but weaker than supermassive. Supermassive is
the least common black hole there is. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Soldiers followed a basic routine on normal days. The day began with the stand to in which soldiers

Both sides practiced this morning ritual. After stand to and the morning hate, when both sides would

Effects Of Relationships In The Iliad
The Effect of Relationships Throughout the Iliad
Relationships by definition are the way in which two or more concepts, objects, or people share a
connection with one another. In the Iliad written by Homer during the time period ranging between
600 to 800 B.C, the portrayal of three main relationships strongly depicts the effect of relationships.
Achilles and Patroclus are two war heroes on the Achaean side who share a strong bond with one
another. Once Patroclus dies at the hand of Hector, a strong and brave hero on the Trojan side,
Achilles develops a sense of revenge and makes it his personal duty to avenge Patroclus which causes
him to forget his feud with King Agamemnon and resume fighting, while Diomedes and Glaukos
share a heritage bond which causes Diomedes and Glaukos to refrain from murdering one another.
However, although Hector and Andromache portray a strong relationship, it does not affect Hector as
strongly as Diomedes s and Achilles s relationships. Relationships in the Iliad affects Achilles by
forcing him to kill the man who kills Patroclus to exact revenge, Diomedes and Glaukos to refrain
from killing one another as they realize they share a family bond, but the relationship between Hector
and Andromache does not greatly affect Hector in the battlefield.

Hot peppers Jalapeno, capsaicin, and serrano are active ingredients contained in cayenne and other hot

inhibit the COX 2 enzyme, which is considered as the major reason of inflammation in arthritis.

help in relieving different allergies that are caused by inflammation.
Dark Leafy Green Vegetables They have a rich content of alpha linoleic acid and omega 3, similar as
the omega 3 found in fish. Make sure to consume plenty of these vegetables.
Pineapple This fruit has powerful anti inflammatory properties due to its rich content of bromelain
which contains enzymes which can minimize swelling, thus relieving inflammation and pain in the

lackluster when compared to hers. In theory, I understood why it seemed to be this way, she had

as a whole.
National income
Let us start by looking at a simple example a
two sector economy made up of households
(consumers) and firms (producers) and use this to develop the idea of national income. To start with
we will ignore the impact of government policy and overseas sectors.
Households ultimately own the factors of production, e.g., labour, materials and capital, and supply
these factors to firms who use them to produce goods and services. In return households earn rewards

sold to customers i.e., the chairs.
Savings (S) income that is not spent on consumption. Investment (I) production of, or expenditure on,
non consumption goods (carried out by firms) including expenditure on increasing stocks of
consumption goods.
Injections expenditure on domestic output not originating from consumers e.g., investment.
Leakages income not spent on consumption of domestic output e.g., savings.
Consumers will not spend all their income on goods and services. They will also have savings income
not spent on consumption. Similarly producers will not just spend on producing goods but will also
carry out investment expenditure on non consumption goods.
There are therefore injections into (investment) and leakages from (savings) the circular flow.
These injections and leakages can now be added to the circular flow model (see Figure 2)

In this model the income earned by households (Y) must be equal to expenditure on purchasing
national product (E). Output of consumption goods by firms equals consumption expenditure by
household s (C). Note that households do not spend all their income instead they save (S) a leakage.
Expenditure on non consumption goods by firms is investment (I) an injection.

obviously just as much of a struggle for her as it was for me. So then, I would often wonder, why did
she get up? What was forcing her out of bed an hour and a half early every weekday? One day, I found
out.
Although I was picky about the food I ate, eating was still something I always enjoyed. I loved green
mint chocolate chip ice cream, chips and salsa (only the fresh, spicy kind), and especially my
grandmother s sweet candy potatoes. Never did I worry about my weight. I was an athletic
cheerleader, so the need to watch what I ate never arose. My blue and gold cheerleading skirt
consistently fit the same way, snug on my waist and bumping out over what my mom nicknamed The
Butt .
However, when a family trauma occurred, food turned from my body s favorite friend into a deadly,
lethal weapon.

Othello Essay
Othello Essay
William Shakespeare s Othello tells a story of the tragic downfall of a man through jealousy and
mistrust, influenced by the manipulative actions of another. Due to innumerable changes within
society over time, it is inevitable that a wide range of critical interpretations and readings of the text
will emerge.
My personal interpretation of the play draws from the concepts of the traditional Aristotelian views of
a tragedy. An Aristotelian interpretation concerns itself with whether Othello can be considered a true
tragedy. The two main principles which determine whether a text can be labelled as a true tragedy
include the plot and the characters.
The first principle within an Aristotelian tragedy includes the idea ... Show more content on

and the protagonist should be renowned and prosperous, so his change of fortune can be from good to
bad ... Despite being set in a society where black men were looked down upon, Othello is successfully
categorised as the renowned and prosperous protagonist. As a noble moor and husband to the young
fair Desdemona, his fortune changes from good to bad as the play progresses. His mistrust in
Desdemona leads him to murdering her, thus losing something he loved so dearly. Aristotle also
claims that The protagonist will mistakenly bring about his own downfall not because he is sinful or
morally weak, but because he does not know enough. This idea is also portrayed throughout the play.
Othello s downfall was not due to him being sinful or morally weak, but because he simply did not
know enough. His promoting of Cassio led Iago to become jealous and ultimately led to Othello s
downfall. Due to his lack of knowledge, Othello also fell victim to Iago s manipulative and cunning
nature leading to his growing trust in Iago and the questioning of Desdemona s loyalty.
Also, another aspect of an Aristotelian tragedy is the term hamartia . Hamartia refers to a weakness or
a mistake or more commonly as a tragic flaw. Othello s hamartia is expressed clearly through the play.
When Iago manipulates Othello into suspecting Desdemona of being unfaithful, his jealousy clouds
his mind where it has come to the point where all he cares about is proving

Rocky Flats Plant Research Paper
Many people tried to bring to light the hazardous materials that Rocky Flats Plant was releasing into
the environment. After the FBI raid of 1989, people begin to wonder if hazardous materials were
released into the environment. Many years later, Rocky Flats Plant plead guilty to criminal violations
of environmental law. The truth of the damage of Rocky Flats Plant did to the environment may never
truly be known, since the inspectors were strong armed. The information that was released to the
public can give an idea about how bad it was. The Rocky Flats Plant was a former nuclear weapons
production facility located near Golden, Colorado. It was constructed in 1951. The Rocky Flats Plant
operated from 1952 to 1989 producing plutonium triggers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also emits neutrons, beta particles and gamma rays. It is considered toxic, in part, because if it were
to be inhaled it could deposit in the lungs and eventually cause damage. There are five common
isotopes of plutonium, PU 238, PU 239, PU 240, PU 241, and PU 242. These are all fissionable the
atom s nucleus can easily split apart if it is struck by a neutron. PU 239 has a half life of 24,100 years
and PU 241 s half life is 14.4 years. Substances with shorter half lives decay more quickly than those
with longer half lives, so they emit more energetic radioactivity. Like any radioactive isotopes,
plutonium isotopes transform when they decay. They might become different plutonium isotopes or
different elements, such as uranium or neptunium. Many of these daughter products are themselves
radioactive. ( Backgrounder on Plutonium ). A costly fire at the Rocky Flats Plant in 1969 and later
detection of off site Plutonium in soil samples spurred discussion of environmental contamination
problems and safety implications of the Rocky Flats installation. (Little, C. A., and F. W. Whicker).
Investigators were sent out to the Rocky Flats to test soil samples from wind dispersion. The findings

Nietzsche s Conception Of The Apollonian And The Dionysian
Many philosophical minds assume that during his time Friedrich Nietzsche didn t adapt along the line
of any traditional conception of the philosopher. Furthermore, one can say that Nietzsche is the
interpretation of the wise man after all he is serene, temperate and Apollonian. Furthermore, Nietzsche
used his beloved Apollo along with Dionysius in his philosophies of response to tragedy even though
there is tension between the two opposing forces known to him as the Apollonian and the Dionysian.
In the first place we must familiarize ourselves with the Greek god Apollo known to be the god of
light and reason. Comparatively, this leads Nietzsche to identify the Apollonian way of life
humanitarian power represented by means of restraint ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the Error of a false causality , deals with the willingness of an individual and how that individual
comes to assume an internal motivation to their action.Additionally, this error deals more with the
denial of instincts and that by means of trying to explain one s actions by motivations we cover a false

reassurement of our feelings and that we then need a reason to feel a certain way.Again, the unfamiliar

Habituation of Exploratory Behavior in Rats
Abstract
This study investigated the effects of displaced objects and spatial reorganization on habituation of
exploratory behavior. The subjects, rats, each individually spent 5 minutes in an open field for 6 trials.
Throughout the study, exploratory behavior was measured in the number of contacts the subject made,
the number of ambulations, and contact time (seconds). Trials 1 5 were mainly used to familiarize the
subject with its surroundings, naturally leading to decreasing amounts of exploratory behavior. Trial 6
involves the same routine, except displaced objects are introduced in an attempt to renew exploratory
behavior and promote the building up of environmental maps and representations. Additionally, the
measured behavior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this present study, behavior tests were used in order to determine the likelihood of renewed
exploratory behavior in a familiar environment after the introduction of displaced objects.
Additionally, renewed exploratory behavior seems to play a critical role in building environmental
maps, leading to the integration of new spatial relationships Poucet et al. (1986).
The primary aim of this experiment was to determine if rats would gain a renewal of exploratory
behavior due to displaced objects after habituation had settled in. Based on results from these
previously mentioned experiments, we hypothesized that subjects were capable of renewing
exploratory behavior in a spatially reorganized environment. However, this was under the assumption
that complications such as age and species type were inapplicable.
Method
Subjects
The subjects were Sprague Dawley male rats. Their age is 150 days. The supplier is Harlan Sprague
Dawley. They are maintained on a 12:12 h light/dark cycle and are provided with ad libitum access to
food.
Apparatus
Materials include an open field (OF) apparatus with a 6x6 grid drawn on the inside. Three objects, a
coca cola can, a plastic cylindrical container with rocks inside, and a plastic bear shaped bottle were
used as the objects.
Procedure
The study period included one week of familiarization and a second week devoted to experimentation.

Compare and Contrast Totalitarian and Democracy Propaganda
Propaganda is influencing the attitude of countries and nation s communities toward some cause or
position. There are two different extreme types of systems of government that use propaganda,
totalitarian and democracy. In a totalitarian government, this government has power over every aspect
of personal and private life. It is an extremely controlling and dictatorial type of government. On the
opposite end of the spectrum is the democracy government where the people get to vote for the party
they want to rule. This type of government is open and extremely permissive and allows freedom of
speech and freedom of the press.
A totalitarian government and a democracy government have two completely different aspects of how
to rule. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Nazi party in Germany was a prime example of a totalitarian government and used propaganda
during World War II. The leader of the Nazi party, Adolf Hitler, saw propaganda as a vehicle of
political salesmanship in a mass market. Hitler really admired American propaganda. He admired it so
much, he appointed Nazi Joseph Goebbels as Germany s minister of propaganda. Goebbels used art
propaganda to glorify the state and attack those who were considered an enemy. In 1933 when the
Nazi party assumed power, propaganda was used it to show that it is a positive form of government
and take control over the public opinion ( Propaganda ).
The United States is a democracy government that has the most effective and powerful propaganda in
the world. The United States figured out that people respond the best to emotional appeals. This was
the birth of American propaganda in the advertising industry. Fear, hatred, lust, greed and envy are
good tools for propaganda, but fear is the most motivating. In the United States, the top ways that
industries used propaganda to make more sales was to advertising sexiness, pride of ownership, and
fear of falling behind your neighbors ( Pure ). Hitler s goals for propaganda were to get German s to
believe that all races other then the Aryan races are bad. Two of the main groups he focused on were
the Jews and the handicaps. He told the German people that Jews and

The American Psychological Association Defines Gender...
Gender
James Gadoury
January 12, 2015
Professor Cormier
English 101
The American Psychological Association defines gender identity as one s sense of oneself as male,
female, or transgender ( Definition of Terms: Sex, Gender, Gender Identity, Sexual Orientation 1). Our
culture greatly affects our gender identity, and this can be seen through how our media displays men,
women, and transgenders. The media is a reflection of the values that are held in American culture and
can be used to enact social reform, or to keep the same old values alive and well. In Gendered Media:
The Influence of Media on Views of Gender , Wood writes: ...media insinuate their messages into our
consciousness at every turn. All forms of media communicate images of the sexes, many of which
perpetuate unrealistic, stereotypical, and limiting perceptions. (1) This illustrates just how influential
the media can be in American culture. Many people immediately internalize everything they hear from
any source that they see as trustworthy. If the media is filled with negative gender stereotypes, then
Americans are at risk of internalizing negative gender roles. In the same journal, Woods also explains
the three main ways that media influences gender identity:
Three themes describe how media represent gender. First, women are underrepresented which falsely
implies that men are the cultural standard and women are unimportant or invisible. Second, men and
women are portrayed in stereotypical

The Ancient Mediterranean World
No culture can be completely isolated; a culture that refuses to learn and share with the other cultures
around it becomes stagnant and may die out completely. The cultures of the ancient Mediterranean
world were certainly far from isolated. The willingness of these cultures to adopt and adapt from each
other is part of what makes them so rich and complex.
Even as most ancient Mediterranean societies were just beginning, Egypt and its culture were
flourishing. As the Chalcolithic Age gave way to the Bronze Age, the Upper and Lower Kingdoms of
Egypt joined together and began expanding. This expansion spread the culture and art of the
Egyptians around the ancient Mediterranean world. Many cultures adopted the common Egyptian
image of a winged sun disk, representative in their culture of the sun god Ra; once adopted into other
cultures, its meaning changed, but its general shape remained the same. Archaic Greek art, as well,
was highly influenced by Egyptian art; many early Greek statues mimic the stiff posture and striding
pose of Egyptian pharaoh illustrations (Purcell; Gilders). The Egyptians helped to shape a somewhat
unified Mediterranean culture.

Stamped and minted coinage is directly taken from Greek culture, and the columns found in many

develop their culture from scratch. They, too, allowed other cultures to influence their own, taking

culture, developed from the cultures surrounding Greece and later spread through Alexander s
imperial expansion, that would one day become the baseline for much of modern society and

  • 4. Women In College Degrees Introduction The female advantage in educational attainment is not a new phenomenon. More women than men have graduated from college since 1950. The percentage of American women who are earning college degrees has steadily increased over the past 50 years, and currently there are more women than men earning every type of college degree. There are many explanations for this trend, however, this analysis will focus on three areas including Feminism, Marriage and Divorce, and Economic Factors. Feminism and Gender Revolution Beginning in the late 1960 s young women s expectations of their future labor force participation began to change radically. Rather than follow in their mothers footsteps, women s aims have been for careers, not just jobs, and these careers have begun to differ from the traditionally female occupations of women in the past. Today, women are steadily filing into occupations that were historically men s domains. In addition to the modern possibilities of a greater investment in professional careers has come the availability of the contraceptive pill. • 5. Greenland Norse Collapse The Choices Societies Make and the Challenges Surrounding Them The choices the Greenland Norse, the people of Easter Island, and the people of Haiti made directly contributed to their societal collapse. Their environmental fragility advanced their downfall, but ultimately their poor decision making led to their collapse. The Greenland Norse s and people of Easter Island s incorrect choices were mostly due to social challenges and reluctance to abandon traditions, but the incorrect choices of the Haitian people were due to selfness and impulsiveness. The Greenland Norse are an excellent example of a society that has collapsed because of the choices they have made, but they also serve as an example of a society who suffered great challenges when considering these alternative solutions. In particular, the Greenland Norse s lack of adaptability in the decision s they favored regarding hunting, livestock, the relationship with the Inuit, and the need for European identity drove their society to a collapse. The Norse came to Greenland with traditional hunting and livestock customs such as growing hay to feed their large number of livestock. • 6. The Pirates Of The Caribbe At Worlds End Do you know how much work is put into making a film? Neither do I, but I helped direct a play so I understand a good portion of it. Film making is not just getting a cast, handing them a script, and start rolling the camera. It takes time, skill, and key elements to not only get the production ready but to get across a message to the viewer. In The Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End (2007), Gore Verbinski creates a visual and brings the viewer in on how it would feel like to be a pirate in a place where you are not wanted or accepted. By using the three main formal elements mise en scene, cinematography, and sound he makes you feel you are in th emovie for yourself. Without knowing what these elements are or maybe knowing only the bare minimum you, may feel the movie is great in general, but after reading and analyzing the step by step process on what it takes makes it even better. Captain Jack Sparrow is last one of Pirate Lords of the Brethren Court who is needed to come together to fight for the freedom of the pirates way of life. The opening scene is the most important and most powerful because it sets a foundation for the rest of the film. In Fort Charles Port Royal, Lord Cutler Beckett is doing a mass execution of pirates and pirates sympathizers. This is the beginning of the war he started against piracy as he tired to gain control of the Dead Mans Chest. Especially when that person is a grandparent. In March of 2014, my grandfather, Raymond Weber, became a town hero in Hillsboro, ND. Early that morning, I got up and said hello to my grandfather. He was just starting his day, and his day was busy. As Police Chief of Hillsboro, he was required to clean out the town armory and make sure all the squad cars were in working order (making sure the lights and sirens worked). He did this early in the morning and then came back to pick me up so that I could shadow him as he worked. We did miscellaneous jobs all day. My grandfather had me working on the jobs that he didn t want to do at the office while he did the real work of paperwork and signing of other important papers that I couldn t understand. The real surprise came later that night when we went into the town to do the final round of the shift. My grandfather loaded me up in the squad car and started it. We drove around town on his designated route before he was allowed to punch out and go home for the night. After we finished, we stopped at the precinct so that he could make sure that there was someone there for the next shift. We then proceeded to head back home. Marriage in Jane Austen´s Pride and Prejudice Throughout the history of literature there have been many connections made between writers and their reoccurring styles of writing found in each of their literary works. Jane Austen is only one example of this type of author who exemplifies a style of repetition by using repetitious themes. Theme is a very important literary element in any piece of literature. The ability to function in different areas of everyday life, both in and out of the home, has been a goal seldom achieved by patients treated for schizophrenia. While new approaches to treatment have been developed that focus on neurocognitive and social cognition, many treatments fail to fully address the social environment and its impact on recovery success. • 12. Taking a Look at Surrogate Mothers Surrogacy is a controversial issue nowadays. Surrogacy allows a woman to give the gift of parenthood to a couple who would otherwise not have been able to experience it, either due to infertility or inability to adopt a child. In some cases, the surrogate can obtain monetary compensation for her services. According to Anderson (1990), A commercial surrogate mother is someone who is paid money to bear a child for other people and to terminate her parental rights, to lead to a situation that the others may raise the child as exclusively their own. In the aspect of the intended parents, there are reasons for people who need the surrogacy service. Firstly, Intended mothers can have a huge variety of health issues that make pregnancy impossible or undesirable. For instance, some women s womb cannot support a fetus that they may miscarry for many times that cannot get pregnant successfully. Secondly, there are also women that have biological problems which affect their ability to reproduce. The reproductive system is complex and can cause various ailments which make pregnancy impossible. Thirdly, some women may turn to surrogate mothers because of severe health problems. While the woman may be healthy enough to be an effective mother, her body may be unable to survive pregnancy. For example, some women would choose to use a surrogate mother because they have heart problems which may cause the mother to be unable to survive in a traditional child birth. When the Count realized that he went too far with his revenge to Villefort, the narrator states, Monte Cristo paled at the horrible sight. An innocent child s life was lost because of Dantes actions. Monte Cristo s regret also shows when he states, And God grant that I haven t done too much already! (Dumas 487). • 14. Environmental Justice Issue Of Environmental... Introduction I propose to add the environmental justice issue of environmental discrimination into the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. To do so, I will investigate specific issues and regulation deficiencies that are negatively impacting the Great Lakes reserves, and develop a plan of action on your behalf. As you are aware, protecting the Great Lakes is critically important. It is not only the largest source of freshwater in the United States but in the whole world. Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin border the Great Lakes, and all of those states use it as a water source for a total of about 10 million people. Since the passing of the Clean Water Act, industries like U.S. Steel Industry have been using the loopholes found in the bill to further their profit, and as a side effect has caused damage to the water supply, disproportionately affecting people in marginalized communities. By using these loopholes, the Great Lakes are continually polluted, which causes appalling damage to the millions of people who use the water for drinking and other water centric necessities. Also, aging infrastructure causes leaking pipes, corroding pipes that jeopardize the water systems, and failing sewage treatment plants. These infrastructure problems not only disproportionate effect marginalized communities but all communities suffer when the Great Lakes become polluted. This chronic and growing public budget deficit has generated pressures on domestic savings and increased the share of domestic savings that directed to cover the growing public deficit at the expense of investment spending share. Ratios of public budget deficit to demand for domestic savings fluctuated around upward sloping trend. This ratio recorded 40%, in average, with standard deviation 14.5% during the considered period. Panel (a) in figure (3) shows that despite ratio of investment spending to demand for domestic savings recorded 84%, in average, with standard deviation 10.3%; however, these ratios fluctuated around a relatively horizontal trend during the considered period. Accordingly, it can be said that public budget deficit works as a constraint to investment spending. Panel (b) may confirm this suggestion, as it shows that investment spending, as a percent of GDP, is following a downward sloping trend especially after 2008, where ratios of public budget deficit to demand for domestic savings started to follow an upward sloping trend. In other words, it can be said that public spending competes with investment spending for domestic savings, a familiar problem known as crowding out. • 18. Coco Chanel Biography Today, one of the most important items that a woman must have in her closet is a little black dress and Coco Chanel was the woman that made having one so important. Ms. Chanel had a very rewarding career and, even today, her and her company are huge parts of the fashion world. While researching her early life, lovers, career, and her death, there were many facts about Miss Coco Chanel that made her a truly intriguing person to research. She seemed to have led a very interesting life, but she may not have been happy. That is probably why she kept going for the richer and more powerful men and why she lied so much about her past. The inconsistencies were evident throughout all the research, even up to her cause of death. In Saumur, France on August 19, 1883, Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel was born. At the time of her birth, her parents were not married, but they did exchange vows when Ms. Chanel was a year old. When she was twelve years old, her mother died. Her cause of death was from a respiratory infection, either tuberculosis or bronchitis. Her father, then, sent her and her sisters to go live in Aubazine, a convent. One resource states that the convent was too strict that Chanel ran away to Moulins to stay at a boarding house for Catholic girls. To remain relevant the artillery had no other alternative, but to progress with the other tools of warfare. One option for the phone is to sell more landlines phones to developing world nations, but even there the growth possibilities are slim. There are small markets like Belize, but in most countries landline infrastructure is becoming limited. There are options, however, for repositioning the home phone in the United States, with some modifications to the technology. Lardinois (2010) notes that Americans under the age of 35 are unlikely to have a landline, as they use wireless devices for their computing needs. The target market for the redesigned and repositioned common house phone is the same market that has eschewed the phone to this point, the urban under 35s. Other target markets already have house phones, so there is less sales potential. However, by making the common house phone attractive to the younger demographic, there is strong growth potential in the new product. • 38. Essay about Macroeconomics You may have already studied microeconomics, which looks at supply, demand and prices for individual goods. Macroeconomics looks at the bigger picture and involves the study of the economy as a whole. National income Let us start by looking at a simple example a two sector economy made up of households (consumers) and firms (producers) and use this to develop the idea of national income. To start with we will ignore the impact of government policy and overseas sectors. Households ultimately own the factors of production, e.g., labour, materials and capital, and supply these factors to firms who use them to produce goods and services. In return households earn rewards for supplying the firms with the factors of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This model will use the following definitions: Consumption (C) consumption goods produced and sold to customers i.e., the chairs. Savings (S) income that is not spent on consumption. Investment (I) production of, or expenditure on, non consumption goods (carried out by firms) including expenditure on increasing stocks of consumption goods. Injections expenditure on domestic output not originating from consumers e.g., investment. Leakages income not spent on consumption of domestic output e.g., savings. Consumers will not spend all their income on goods and services. They will also have savings income not spent on consumption. Similarly producers will not just spend on producing goods but will also carry out investment expenditure on non consumption goods. There are therefore injections into (investment) and leakages from (savings) the circular flow. These injections and leakages can now be added to the circular flow model (see Figure 2) Figure 2 Notes to Figure 2 In this model the income earned by households (Y) must be equal to expenditure on purchasing national product (E). Output of consumption goods by firms equals consumption expenditure by household s (C). Note that households do not spend all their income instead they save (S) a leakage. Expenditure on non consumption goods by firms is investment (I) an injection. Income (Y) = Expenditure (E) Income ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Not So Perfect Pancake Essay Not So Perfect Pancake The form of the pancake my mother made for me every morning was always unpredictable. Sometimes, they would come out perfectly, smooth and round with sprinkles of love blended in. Other times, they would be mushy, uneven shapes that seemed to pile onto the plate. It was just like life, sometimes things would go as planned without any wrinkles, smooth, and other times I would need a steamy iron to get rid of the bunching wrinkles. Overall though, the pancakes symbolized my mother s loyalty to me and served as a bonding tool. Waking up at 6:00 was never something I enjoyed. In fact, it was more of a wrestling match between my alarm clock and me. Staggering out of bed, I would somehow manage to drag myself ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Often though, my mother would have to put the pancake on a paper plate for me to eat en route to school. As I would shovel the pieces into my mouth, trying to keep my car on the right side of the yellow line, I would think of how lucky I was to have a mom that would wake up so early just to make me a pancake to suppress my hunger and start my day off right . Coming down the stairs in her pink flannel nightgown, her blond hair all twirled into one matted mess, and her normally sparkling blue eyes glued shut with sleepers , I knew it wasn t because she was a morning person. Waking up was obviously just as much of a struggle for her as it was for me. So then, I would often wonder, why did she get up? What was forcing her out of bed an hour and a half early every weekday? One day, I found out. Although I was picky about the food I ate, eating was still something I always enjoyed. I loved green mint chocolate chip ice cream, chips and salsa (only the fresh, spicy kind), and especially my grandmother s sweet candy potatoes. Never did I worry about my weight. I was an athletic cheerleader, so the need to watch what I ate never arose. My blue and gold cheerleading skirt consistently fit the same way, snug on my waist and bumping out over what my mom nicknamed The Butt . However, when a family trauma occurred, food turned from my body s favorite friend into a deadly, lethal weapon. During the end of my seventh grade year my oldest ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Othello Essay Othello Essay William Shakespeare s Othello tells a story of the tragic downfall of a man through jealousy and mistrust, influenced by the manipulative actions of another. Due to innumerable changes within society over time, it is inevitable that a wide range of critical interpretations and readings of the text will emerge. My personal interpretation of the play draws from the concepts of the traditional Aristotelian views of a tragedy. An Aristotelian interpretation concerns itself with whether Othello can be considered a true tragedy. The two main principles which determine whether a text can be labelled as a true tragedy include the plot and the characters. The first principle within an Aristotelian tragedy includes the idea ... Despite being set in a society where black men were looked down upon, Othello is successfully categorised as the renowned and prosperous protagonist. As a noble moor and husband to the young fair Desdemona, his fortune changes from good to bad as the play progresses. His mistrust in Desdemona leads him to murdering her, thus losing something he loved so dearly. Aristotle also claims that The protagonist will mistakenly bring about his own downfall not because he is sinful or morally weak, but because he does not know enough. This idea is also portrayed throughout the play. Othello s downfall was not due to him being sinful or morally weak, but because he simply did not know enough. His promoting of Cassio led Iago to become jealous and ultimately led to Othello s downfall. Due to his lack of knowledge, Othello also fell victim to Iago s manipulative and cunning nature leading to his growing trust in Iago and the questioning of Desdemona s loyalty. Also, another aspect of an Aristotelian tragedy is the term hamartia . Hamartia refers to a weakness or a mistake or more commonly as a tragic flaw. Othello s hamartia is expressed clearly through the play. When Iago manipulates Othello into suspecting Desdemona of being unfaithful, his jealousy clouds his mind where it has come to the point where all he cares about is proving ... After the FBI raid of 1989, people begin to wonder if hazardous materials were released into the environment. Many years later, Rocky Flats Plant plead guilty to criminal violations of environmental law. The truth of the damage of Rocky Flats Plant did to the environment may never truly be known, since the inspectors were strong armed. The information that was released to the public can give an idea about how bad it was. The Rocky Flats Plant was a former nuclear weapons production facility located near Golden, Colorado. Substances with shorter half lives decay more quickly than those with longer half lives, so they emit more energetic radioactivity. Like any radioactive isotopes, plutonium isotopes transform when they decay. They might become different plutonium isotopes or different elements, such as uranium or neptunium. Many of these daughter products are themselves radioactive. ( Backgrounder on Plutonium ). Furthermore, Nietzsche used his beloved Apollo along with Dionysius in his philosophies of response to tragedy even though there is tension between the two opposing forces known to him as the Apollonian and the Dionysian. The subjects, rats, each individually spent 5 minutes in an open field for 6 trials. Throughout the study, exploratory behavior was measured in the number of contacts the subject made, the number of ambulations, and contact time (seconds). Trials 1 5 were mainly used to familiarize the subject with its surroundings, naturally leading to decreasing amounts of exploratory behavior. Trial 6 involves the same routine, except displaced objects are introduced in an attempt to renew exploratory behavior and promote the building up of environmental maps and representations. Additionally, the measured behavior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this present study, behavior tests were used in order to determine the likelihood of renewed exploratory behavior in a familiar environment after the introduction of displaced objects. Additionally, renewed exploratory behavior seems to play a critical role in building environmental maps, leading to the integration of new spatial relationships Poucet et al. (1986). The primary aim of this experiment was to determine if rats would gain a renewal of exploratory behavior due to displaced objects after habituation had settled in. Based on results from these previously mentioned experiments, we hypothesized that subjects were capable of renewing exploratory behavior in a spatially reorganized environment. However, this was under the assumption that complications such as age and species type were inapplicable. Method Subjects The subjects were Sprague Dawley male rats. Their age is 150 days. The supplier is Harlan Sprague Dawley. They are maintained on a 12:12 h light/dark cycle and are provided with ad libitum access to food. Apparatus Materials include an open field (OF) apparatus with a 6x6 grid drawn on the inside. Three objects, a coca cola can, a plastic cylindrical container with rocks inside, and a plastic bear shaped bottle were used as the objects. Procedure The study period included one week of familiarization and a second week devoted to experimentation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are two different extreme types of systems of government that use propaganda, totalitarian and democracy. In a totalitarian government, this government has power over every aspect of personal and private life. It is an extremely controlling and dictatorial type of government. On the opposite end of the spectrum is the democracy government where the people get to vote for the party they want to rule. This type of government is open and extremely permissive and allows freedom of speech and freedom of the press. The Nazi party in Germany was a prime example of a totalitarian government and used propaganda during World War II. The leader of the Nazi party, Adolf Hitler, saw propaganda as a vehicle of political salesmanship in a mass market. Hitler really admired American propaganda. He admired it so much, he appointed Nazi Joseph Goebbels as Germany s minister of propaganda. Goebbels used art propaganda to glorify the state and attack those who were considered an enemy. In 1933 when the Nazi party assumed power, propaganda was used it to show that it is a positive form of government and take control over the public opinion ( Propaganda ). The United States is a democracy government that has the most effective and powerful propaganda in the world. The United States figured out that people respond the best to emotional appeals. This was the birth of American propaganda in the advertising industry. Fear, hatred, lust, greed and envy are good tools for propaganda, but fear is the most motivating. • 45. The American Psychological Association Defines Gender... Gender James Gadoury January 12, 2015 Professor Cormier English 101 The American Psychological Association defines gender identity as one s sense of oneself as male, female, or transgender ( Definition of Terms: Sex, Gender, Gender Identity, Sexual Orientation 1). Our culture greatly affects our gender identity, and this can be seen through how our media displays men, women, and transgenders. The media is a reflection of the values that are held in American culture and can be used to enact social reform, or to keep the same old values alive and well. In Gendered Media: The Influence of Media on Views of Gender , Wood writes: ...media insinuate their messages into our consciousness at every turn. All forms of media communicate images of the sexes, many of which perpetuate unrealistic, stereotypical, and limiting perceptions. (1) This illustrates just how influential the media can be in American culture. Many people immediately internalize everything they hear from any source that they see as trustworthy. If the media is filled with negative gender stereotypes, then Americans are at risk of internalizing negative gender roles. In the same journal, Woods also explains the three main ways that media influences gender identity: Three themes describe how media represent gender. First, women are underrepresented which falsely implies that men are the cultural standard and women are unimportant or invisible. Second, men and women are portrayed in stereotypical ... • 46. The Ancient Mediterranean World No culture can be completely isolated; a culture that refuses to learn and share with the other cultures around it becomes stagnant and may die out completely. The cultures of the ancient Mediterranean world were certainly far from isolated. The willingness of these cultures to adopt and adapt from each other is part of what makes them so rich and complex. Even as most ancient Mediterranean societies were just beginning, Egypt and its culture were flourishing. As the Chalcolithic Age gave way to the Bronze Age, the Upper and Lower Kingdoms of Egypt joined together and began expanding. This expansion spread the culture and art of the Egyptians around the ancient Mediterranean world. Many cultures adopted the common Egyptian image of a winged sun disk, representative in their culture of the sun god Ra; once adopted into other cultures, its meaning changed, but its general shape remained the same. Archaic Greek art, as well, was highly influenced by Egyptian art; many early Greek statues mimic the stiff posture and striding pose of Egyptian pharaoh illustrations (Purcell; Gilders).
