Essay On Terrorism In English
Crafting an essay on the subject of terrorism in English can be a formidable task, demanding a
delicate balance of sensitivity, objectivity, and in-depth research. The intricacies of this topic
require a writer to navigate through a complex web of historical events, political ideologies, and
socio-economic factors. Addressing the multifaceted nature of terrorism necessitates a thorough
understanding of its root causes, various forms, and the global impact it has on societies.
Furthermore, the writer must grapple with the challenge of maintaining a neutral stance while
discussing such a sensitive and emotionally charged issue. Striking a balance between presenting
factual information and avoiding the perpetuation of stereotypes or biases is crucial. The need for
careful language choices to convey the severity of the issue without sensationalizing or
oversimplifying is another layer of complexity.
Researching and collecting accurate data from reliable sources becomes imperative, as an essay
on terrorism demands a comprehensive analysis that goes beyond surface-level understanding.
One must delve into the geopolitical context, historical developments, and the evolving nature of
terrorist tactics to provide a nuanced perspective.
Additionally, the essay should explore counterterrorism efforts, the role of international
organizations, and the ethical considerations surrounding counterterrorism policies. Addressing
the impact of terrorism on human rights, civil liberties, and the global community adds another
layer of complexity to the essay.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on terrorism in English requires a meticulous approach,
combining thorough research, thoughtful analysis, and a nuanced understanding of the topic. It is
a task that demands both intellectual rigor and empathy. While challenging, such essays
contribute to a deeper comprehension of a critical global issue.

Realities Redefined in William Gibson s Neuromancer Essay
Realities Redefined in William Gibson s Neuromancer
The ways in which characters communicate and interact with one another are
redefined in William Gibson?s Neuromancer. An all encompassing web of intrigue,
the Net enables humans and non humans to access and to communicate an infinite
amount of data across time and space. Medical implants open another door on virtual
communications. Non living entities such as artificial intelligences and the Dixie
Flatline construct overcome the physical barriers of communication. With the
implementation of these new communications technologies, the physical and virtual
realities of the society waver and meld into one another, resulting in an alienating
cyber culture where this new reality of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like many others who treats cyberspace as their reality, Case is mostly solitary. He
derives his adrenaline rush from stealing data in cyberspace, but he rarely senses
emotions from other stimuli. For Case, making love with Linda Lee and with Molly
cannot be compared with his love affair with the world of non flesh. As Molly says
to Case: ?I saw you stroking that Sendai; man, it was pornographic?(47).
When his former employers damage his nervous system with mycotoxin, Case is
abruptly cut off from his sensuous love affair with the matrix. For him, it is the
Fall (6). Case loses everything that he thinks is important to him, and he attempts
to commit suicide. Even his love for Linda cannot help him overcome his
depression. After all, physical and emotional love is not the same as being in love
with something less tangible, for perhaps it is the intangibleness of the Net that
enthrals Case. The cyberspace cowboys have an elite stance towards the physical
world, a ?certain relaxed contempt for the flesh. The body was meat?(6). Meat
deteriorates, but cyberspace lives on forever. In Case?s situation, it is apparent that it
is the ?meat? of one?s physical body that can obstruct one from accessing the greater
reality of cyberspace. This virtual reality, however, also impedes Case from fully
living his physical life, but he does not completely acknowledge this even after his
encounter with the A.I.s Wintermute and Neuromancer.
My New House Essay
As soon as I walked into the front doors of my new house I knew this wasn t my
old house. It was like walking into my grandma s house which was like a thousand
years old. I definitely liked my old house better. Speaking of my old house, it was
like my dream house. It was like I was in my very own world and I had the freedom
to do whatever I wanted on that farmland back in Tennessee. Now this stinky dump
in Cleveland is nothing like our city in Tennessee. I walked up the old creaky stairs
and at the top to the right was my room. As soon as I walked into my room I could
not say a word, it was the ugliest room ever, but I knew I had to make it work. Oh I
miss those days back at our farm in Tennessee. At home I was always stressed
because of school but at the farm it gave me something to do and to take my mind
off school. The farm was so fun I got to do whatever I wanted to do,like run throw
the corn mazes, take care of the chickens, make sure all the plants had water, play with
the gotes, ride horses, there was so many things to do at the farm that you could never
get bored. My favorite thing to do was plant different types of vegetables and fruitand
watch the plants grow. I truly missed the farm, and all I could think about was the
farm and how much fun I had there and how I lived there my whole childhood. The
next morning I woke up to the sound of fire truck siren, I guess in the city of
Cleveland you will always hear them or anything loud at 6:00 in the morning. I
truly thought that this was the jumpiest and loudest city ever, well at least in this
part of Cleveland. I stay in my room the rest of the morning trying to figure out
how to make my room feel like home. All of a sudden I hear loud screaming from
down stairs. We would have never had to move here if you re stupid crops did not
die my mom said. The move was really hard on my mom she loved ohio and loved
her job,but my mom and dad were not making much money. Then I heard louder
screaming, It is not just all my fault you could have got a better job, my dad says.
Then I hear screaming even louder how could you say that, you knew I loved my
job! My mom said. The screaming went on for another 5 mins, I could not listen to it
any more so I decided to

Statement of the Problem:
Technology has been evolving with us since the beginning of the Prehistoric age,
from the simplest tools of the cave men to now in present future. Technology is
very important in our society, without it we would not be able to survive in our
ever changing society. We are living in a society which is called technologically
civilized society. Every small work we do is technology dependent. Today every
other person is recognized with the device or gadget, he carries; which is technically
advanced. Ultimately, we can say that, living without technology is like living
without air in this technical world of today. Therefore, we are much dependent on

Design Considerations:
Functionality
The practicability of low cost car parking facilities is important for the commercial
sector. The design features used to make the car parking structure easier to operate
and maintain, for example drainage, lighting. The portal function of a multi storey
car park frequently leads to a positive initial contact for visitors and customers.
Accessibility
Ramps:
The number and arrangement of the ramps, entrances and exits all depend on the size
and length of the property, the number of parking levels, the user frequency and the
accessibility to public transport. The ramps slope at a maximum of 15%. The changes
in slope are compensated with widened summit curves, which increase driver
friendliness.

Lab Report On Photosynthesis
Purpose
The purpose of this lab is to observe the effect of white, green, and dark light on a
photosynthetic plant using a volumeter and followed by the calculation of the net
oxygen production using different wavelengths color of white and green light, and
also the calculation of oxygen consumption under a dark environment, and finally the
calculation of the gross oxygen production.
Introduction
Photosynthesis is the process in which plants consumed inorganic materials like solar
light, carbon dioxide and water and converted it to an organic molecule like sugar and
an inorganic gas like oxygen. Light is one of the major elements influencing the rate
of photosynthesis; direct light concentration affects the noncyclic pathway (light ...

Materials and Methods
To performed the experiment, a volumeter was set up to measure the net oxygen
production under white light, then a second step was followed to measure oxygen
consumption under dark conditions (oxygen production only happens in the presence
of light and oxygen consumption in the presence of dark light) and finally, a third
step consisted of recording the measure of the net oxygen production under the
presence of green light.
The experiment first started by the calculation of the net oxygen production under
white light, it started by putting the Elodea in a volumeter tube containing 3%
sodium bicarbonate solution, which was assembled to the volumeter by covering the
tube with the plug/pipet/syringe assembly (a 1 2cm air space between the bicarbonate
solution and the top rubber cover of the volumeter tube should be left.) Then, clamp
the volumeter onto the clamp stand using the tube clamp and fill 2000ml beaker with
cold tap water. The beaker should be placed on the clamp stand between the
volumeter tube and the light lamp. A five minutes stabilization
American Influence On The Great Gatsby
When you think of the roaring 1920 s, you picture music, dance, life. The art from
this time also evolved into something brighter and more imaginative. The Harlem
Renaissance had played an enormous role in creating this sense of a distinct
American identity. Its music, especially, was widely understood as one of the first
truly authentic expressions of American experience, unfettered by European
influence or tradition (The Humanities 109). It was time where people could finally
act like themselves and do whatever they want without getting criticized. Women
were starting to show some skin with less clothing, Jazz became a popular genre of
music that people could not get enough of, and poetry and paintings gave a whole
new meaning to art.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Market Entry Modes

enter a new overseas market because of commitments to be made; commitment in
terms of dollars to be invested, personnel for managing the international organization,
and determination to stay in the market long enough to realize a return on these
investments, therefore selecting the most appropriate market entry mode is vital. A
mode of entry into an international market is the channel which the organization
employs to gain entry to a new international market. In this report I will go through

Essay about The Independence of Spainish Colonies in
America
The Spanish empire in the Americas faced huge political, social and economic
problems in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The empire was stretched to
its limit politically and socially with the threat of an uprising from the slave
population in its empire. The economy also played a major role and the outlook
was just as bleak for Spain with the American colonies drifting towards
independence. Spain did not seem able to cope with its empire and had found itself
in trouble with regards to mining which was at the centre of political and social
systems, the military and the empire s economic activity. By 1600, mining which
was integral to Spain s prosperity and growth, was under a huge amount of pressure.
This pressure was caused by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the economy of the Americas relied heavily on mining there was also a
large emphasis on agricultural development and manufacturing in the sixteenth and
seventeenth centuries. However, the development of agricultural during these two
centuries led to further economic turmoil within the Americas. The agricultural
system was changed from the traditional Indian subsistence agriculture to commercial
crops and plantations. This change in agriculture led to the formation of latifundios
and minifundios which were not as self sufficient as the traditional Indian
subsistence farming. The sugar boom meant that the agricultural system in place led
to a loss of Indian land and water rights. Venezuela became the centre of the
Americas agricultural economy, due to its success of farming cacao in the central
valleys and also due to its livestock. However, the success of its livestock meant that
large and intrusive estancias or ranches were constructed. This was especially true in
the Pampas region of South America, which brought in development of a previously
undeveloped and unspoilt region.
The Americas move towards independence was slowly picking up pace as a result of
its success in manufacturing. For example, wine within the Americas was now
The Effects Of Pain On A Hospital Setting Experience Pain
Introduction
Many patients in a hospital setting experience pain. Pain is considered the fifth vital
sign and should be addressed as important as other vital criteria (Jones Koneti, 2016).
It is subjective and is what the patient says it is. Pain can vary from patient to patient.
Majority of patients indicate pain verbally, but what happens when an individual
cannot verbalize their pain? This is the situation for nonverbal individuals. Pain
assessment in the healthcare setting is important because it assists in the diagnosis
of the cause of pain. Pain may be an indicator of tissue damage but may also be
experienced when there is no identifiable cause (Jones Koneti, 2016). The
effectiveness of assessing pain in nonverbal patients is seen with the use of the
FLACC scale and can be compared to a verbal report.
One method of assessing pain in nonverbal patients is the FLACC scale. It is a
nonverbal assessment tool that is used for infants and children under the age of 3.
It is an objective assessment of pain in young children. It assesses five behaviors of
pain: facial expression, leg movement, activity level, cry and consolability. A score of
0= relaxed and comfortable, 1 3= mild discomfort; 4 6 = moderate pain; 7 10= severe
discomfort/pain (Jarvis, 2016).
The Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) uses a 10 mm line with endpoint descriptors that
are marked no pain on the left end and worst pain imaginable on the right hand side.
The patient then marks on the line the point

The Case Of Richard And Mildred Loving
Richard and Mildred Loving were arrested in 1959 for violating South Carolina s

whites. The Lovings, who had to travel hundreds of miles to Washington DC to
legally wed in an attempt to appease South Carolina law, were charged and found
guilty for cohabiting as man and wife, against the peace and dignity of the
Commonwealth (Loving v. Virginia, 388 U.S. 1 (1967). As part of their sentence, the

Before this case, a number of states had anti miscegenation statues in place,
criminalizing love in the name of racism. This case brought an end to the acceptance
of scientific racism in the realm of marriage in that showed such legislation not as
sound or logical but as hateful and unconstitutional. Loving s legacy is strong even
today, as it played a pivotal role in the groundbreaking same sex marriage case,
Obergefell V. Hoges, paving away for the legalization of gay marriage. Without this
case and the intervention of the federal government, states could have very well
continued their practice of anti miscegenation policies. The atrocities committed
upon the Lovings and the millions of couples affected by such hateful policies are
an embarrassment to our nation s history. This case acted as a federal resolve to past
and future Americans fighting for the right to love. Loving V. Virginia led the nation
away from its dark past and towards a more equal future, filled not with scientific
defenses for racism but with scientific defenses against
Comparing Poems The Ball And We Real Cool
Various speakers reflecting on the same topic provide a change in perspective, and
give different levels of insight to the audience. This can be represented when
comparing the poems The Ball and We Real Cool . The Ball, told in a perspective
of a matured man contemplating his journey, brings a more reflective approach to
coming of age than the speaker in We Real Cool , who speak about the subject in
the present tense. Additionally, the speaker in The Ball is singular while the
speaker in We Real Cool is clearly a group. This difference conveys a separation
between a specific experience and a collective opinion. These varying speakers
present two different avenues for analyzing the experience of coming of age. The

Critical Reflection
Anyone can turn his weaknesses into strengths , I was reading the book David and
Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell, and the book was about a battle between David, the
underdog, and Goliath, the giant, and it explains how David defeated a giant by
using his unconventional strategies. It also talks about how some underdogs can
overcome their weaknesses; in addition, it also explains how power comes in
different forms. Malcolm Gladwell proved his arguments by providing some real
life experiences of different underdogs. According to Gladwell, an underdog is a
person who is underestimated by everyone to perform any task successfully.
Malcolm Gladwell also explains many other terms to prove his argument. I have
experiences in my student life where I felt like an underdog. I felt disempowered
because of my weaknesses. I still remember the first day of my English 838 class at
College of San Mateo, and I felt so unconfident in the classroom because I was not a
native speaker. There were also moments in my college classes where I felt
empowered because of my strengths; for example, I felt empowered in my Math 120
and pre calculusclass because I already knew the concepts of these classes. I had a
lot of moments in my life where I felt empowered and disempowered as a student,
but learning from those moments helped me to succeed in my college classes.
I felt disempowered in my English 838 classroom because English was not my
native language. I have been in the United States for a year now. Earlier I was at
the University of North Texas for a semester, then I transferred to College of San
Mateo because of some financial issues in spring 2017. I registered for my English
838 class for the spring semester, but I was really worried about this class. I was so
nervous for taking English class because It was my first time taking an English class
in the United States. I came from a country where English is not a native language.
Even though I was from an English medium high school in India, I was so nervous
because I wasn t sure that if I am ready to take a college level English Class. I was so
nervous on the first day of my English class. There were a lot of thoughts going
through my mind because I wasn t sure if I would be able to
Act 2 Scene 2 Comparison Of Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet Act 2 Scene 2 Comparison There are millions of different well
known plays around the world, some of these plays have been performed many
times over and over again. Even though these plays are repeatedly performed,
every time there is a difference, every time something has changed. Directors have
this power and ability, to be able to change how a character looks, or the point of
view, or even just the facial expressions of the character. All of these little
differences affect the play and make it look brand new every single time. This will
be shown through the comparison of two different Romeo and Juliet production of
Act 2 Scene 2, the balcony scene. One of the productions is by Franco Zeffirelli and
the other by Baz Luhrmann. In my opinion, the production that was the most... Show

Setting is an element which can be looked over by the viewer. Sometimes what
makes a scene work can be fully tied to its setting and props. With a setting that is
realistic and well thought, you can truly tie a scene together. In the Franco
Zeffirelli version of the play, we can see that the setting is around the Capulet
mansion, by Juliet s balcony. Romeo is below hiding in the bushes. The leaves of
the bushes and how Romeo is below them show us how he is hiding and can t be
seen by anyone, the night sky and how dark it is in this scene also hide Romeo.
Juliet is sitting on the ledge of her balcony. In this production, the balcony is made
very wide, so in the scene, Juliet can walk along the entire balcony before Romeo
speaks. This also gives her enough space to run away when she is scared by Romeo
s voice. The plot is not affected too much by these choices other than being able to
have Juliet almost run away from Romeo. Through these setting options that Franco
Zeffirelli took during his production, we have a medieval time period look and a
more original looking production. However, the
The Social Institution Of Education
Education is perceived by society as a means to achieve high levels of success in all
aspects of life. Although steps have been taken to afford individuals the opportunity
to obtain an education, there still lies an inequality and therefore, a social problem is
created. Using the sociological perspectives of functionalist, conflict, feminist, and
interactionist, we can see how each perspective views how this inequality becomes
prevalent and how social, as well as economic inequalities of society are inherited
through education. Functionalist define a social problem by looking for the functions
and dysfunctions of a given topic. The main function of the social institution of
education is to educate. Functionalists argue that education struggles to complete it s
intended task of education the youth due to the additional tasks that the institution
has been assigned. The educational system has taken on roles that normally would be
the functions of other social institutions. The education system provides services to
students and parents for various problems that they may have. It provides services
for students who my have emotional needs, physical challenges, as well as provide
classes for parents.
Conflict theorists view education as a divider, rather than an equalizer. Conflict
theorists focus on social and economic inequalities inherent in our educational
system. They also focus on how the system perpetuates these inequalities. Depending

Pan s Labyrinth And Coraline Comparison Essay
We don t create a fantasy world to escape reality. We create it to be able to stay,
American author Lynda Barry said this. A fantasy film commonly involves a
fantastical, imaginative, fairy tale based world with elements of magic, supernatural,
escapism, or myth. Two films that showcase each aspect of the fantasygenreare:
Guilermo Del Toro s Pan s Labyrinth and Henry Selick s Coraline. Pan s Labyrinth
and Coraline, share universal fantasy tropes such as the fantasy world that exist in
both films. Fantasy films are known to overlap with the horror genre, Pan s
Labyrinth and Coraline also have this in common. Who is telling the story is an
important detail of every film, in many fantasy films the main character is a child.

Fantasy films frequently cast the leading role to a child because fantasies
normally come from the roots of fairy tales. As adults people typically do not read
fairy tales, however they do as children. Directors of fantasy films use this
information as a way to allow the audience full of adults to feel as if they are in
their childhood again reading a familiar story. Pan s Labyrinth and Coraline follow
this fantasy code and tell their story through the eyes of a child protagonists. Del
Toro comments on why he choose to use a child protagonists in his film, he implies
the perspective of childhood innocence is intrinsically critical, declaring fascism is
above all a perversion of innocence, and as such a perversion of children (38
Hanley). Who tells the story can make of the difference, take The Wizard of Oz for
example, there are difference version of the same film based on which protagonists
the audience is focused on. In any fantasy film the creator has to make their
audience feel as if what is happening on screen could really be happening, what
better way to accomplish that then giving the audience the point of the mind of a

radical changes occurred in the care of all patients with the development and growth
of intensive/critical care units in hospitals. The reasons for initiating these units was
multi factorial and complex; the factors included the acute shortage of civilian

pressure ventilation became popular after WWII. The intensive care
Monitoring Sanitary Quality Of Water
Introduction
Problem: Monitoring sanitary quality of water in freezie production
Water possess prime importance in freezie production as a major ingredients as
well as a suitable medium for microbial contamination. In production of freezies,
Kisko Products utilizes water as a main constituent of recipe. Water is also used in
cleaning of freezies as well as washing of side pumps for their easy movement. Kisko
Products uses the water supplied from municipality with its treatment for softening. A

In developed country consumers are aware about the way of process, production and
distribution of food and food products. They are increasingly demanding the
producers to ensure the safety and quality of the products. Thus, increased demand of
consumers for fresh, natural and safe food pressed the processors to maintain sanitary
and phyto sanitary quality of their produces. Effective cleaning and thorough
sanitation are the way to prevent contamination of food products by microorganism.
However, in modern practice good manufacturing and hygienic practices and
application of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points principles in the
production processes are the key implemental factors considered by the food
producers to ensure the quality of their products (US FDA, 2004).
As a major ingredient, cleaning stuffs, and accessory constituent water plays an
important role in the quality of freezies. Sourcing of highest quality water and
maintaining its microbiological quality are mandatory tasks for the beverage and
juice industry. Food and beverage producers exert their best efforts to maintain the
water quality in providing safe and quality products to the consumers. The producers
themselves set the own standards of water quality for their quality production as well
as to maintain the standards of most regulatory authorities. FDA recommendation is
to use water that an analytical unit has a most probable number
Serial Killer
When you hear the words serial killer, you instantly think about people like Jeffrey
Dahmer, Ed Gein, Ted Bundy, or Charles Manson. You don t think about a family
man with a wife and two children, county board member, President of the church
congregation council, or a Cub Scout leader. Dennis Rader possessed all of these
shining attributes. He also possessed a dark secret. This secret had festered in him
from an early age and grew as he got older. Dennis Raderhad fantasies about bondage,
control, and torture which eventually led to murder. Rader s reign of terror began in
1977 and ended with his capture in 2005, almost 30 years later. He labeled his
victims as projects . He hunted his prey in stages he described as the trolling stage
and stalking stage . He even called the tools used for his trade his hit kit . Dennis
Rader was a stone cold killer who had no plans of stopping.
The letters BTK stands for Bind, Torture and Kill , which was Rader s mode of
operation and a name he gave to himself. Throughout the years and in numerous
communications with the police, he talked about his need for acknowledgment. In
the 1990 s BTK had disappeared from sight when, without explanation, he re emerged
in 2004. This re emergence was more than likely due to his need for acknowledgment
or public attention. In 2004, Rader started sending multiple letters, clues, and photos
to the authorities that led to his capture and arrest in 2005.
Dennis Rader was born on March
American Lip Project Analysis
I entered the delicate balance project process with the intention of continuing the
American chestnut restoration project that I initiated last semester. I was enticed by
the appeal of bringing a lapsed keystone species back into the forests of Vermont, and
the romantic legacy it might provide for my project. Unfortunately, I encountered a
few challenging roadblocks in the American chestnut project s early stages of
implementation, such as lack of availability of blight resistant seedlings and the
reality that non blight resistant seedlings would most likely die as they did at Sterling
College.
Although I was enthusiastic about the hands on physical element of my original
project, I did feel that it lacked an element of social justice that I hoped to convey
through my project.
Given the lackluster social implications of the chestnut project, combined with its
high likelihood of failure, I decided to look for a worthy past delicate project to
continue or for a current project to join. Ultimately, I wanted to find a project that
combined my passion for political activism with meaningful, ... Show more content

How Far Do You Agree That the Qing Dynasty Fell Mainly...
How far do you agree that the Qing Dynasty fell mainly because of the humiliation of
China at the hands of foreigners?
The Qing Dynasty fell apart in the 19th after flourishing throughout the 18th century.
Like many complicated systems, it grew brittle and inflexible. It could not adjust as
new problems arose. Bad harvests, warfare, rebellions, overpopulation, economic
disasters, and foreign imperialism contributed to the dynasty s collapse. The qing
rulers were themselves foreign as they were not Chinese but Manchu so in a way its
downfall was due to foreigner as it was the governments failure that helped cause the

The Qing Dynasty had experience a very prosperous period. But at the middle of
the Chien Lung years, there were both internal problems and external invasion. And
let s see how these problems became the symptoms of decline of this former great
country. The administrative inefficiency was a serious problem causing the Qing
government to collapse. Since the emperor of the Qing government held a suspicion
feeling on the officials, so he set up many restrictions, checks and regulations on
them. Gradually the officials thought the less responsibility the less risk they will
face. This really hinders the administration of the government. And there was nobody
wants to take charge on important matters. So the decision had to be maked up by
the emperor himself. But after Chien Lung there was no great emperor. At this point
you are probably wondering how on Earth the Qing Dynasty lasted this long after all
the wars and rebellions. And by this time it seemed as if China did not have much say
in what went on in its own territories. Communism was clearly not working for
China. Sun Yat Sen realized this and he attempted to do something about it. He
came close to death to try and make his dream of China becoming a Republic a
reality. In the 1890 s he formed a secret, anti Qing society and by 1895 there was a
price for his head in China forcing him to have to leave the country. His dream was
to see China become a Republic and to make this happen he

In the worlds of the narrative text Brave New World (1932), composed by Aldous

forlorn visions of a future that has alienated the natural environment from humanity,
creating a society of moral destitution, in which its inhabitants are substantially
lacking as human beings. Humanity in these worlds is governed by loss, loss of the

Important Components Of A Virtual Team Performance
Essay
One of the most important components in any type of team is communication.
Excellent communication between the team members is important to achieve the
team goals. Talking about achieving goals of the team, it is central to have shared
team goals. Also, mutual respect and trust among the team members are main
components of the teamas well. There are five identified components of a virtual
team. There differentiators commitment and engagement, shared processes for
decision making, information flow, trust, and collaboration are the most important
components of optimal virtual team performance (Derosa Lepsinger, 2010, p. 51).
Not all teams perform the same functions; however, some teams use a similar
approach to reach the goals. There are many types of teams in today s business
world and those teams have similarities in a way they approach the goals. Teams
today are more diverse and more open to the news changes compare to the teams in
the past.

Affordable Care Act Controversy
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), issued in 2010 by
Former U.S. President Barack Obama, has caused such a controversy due to its
way of reforming today s healthcare system. Although, the Affordable Care Act has
so far been the most important piece of health care legislation passed ever since the
Social Security Act of 1965, which established medicaid to the elderly. In recent
events in U.S. politics of 2017, our newly elected Republican President Donald J.

Many Americans were able to get health insurance even if they re sick. Insurance
providers would not be able to deny coverage to anyone who have any pre existing
medical conditions. With current President Donald Trump s American Health
Care Act already being active as law, many insurance providers can deny anyone
with any pre existing conditions such as acne, diabetes, and pregnancy (Chavez
2017). This example just proves that the American Health Care Act is a step
backwards into achieving affordable health insurance. Other changes that are
brought upon from this Act include: that states would be able to allow insurers to
charge sick people more, and making it less affordable for some. According to the
Congressional Budget Office, over 52 Million will be left uninsured due to
unaffordable insurance plans mainly coming from the lower class (Levey and Kim
2017). The younger consumers would be charged 3x less than older consumers, but
older consumers will be charged 5x more than younger consumers. Also in the Act,
federal spending in medicaid and to Planned Parenthood would be defunded and
would be left up to the states to decide if funding is needing in those areas. The
defunding of those two factors will eventually decrease the nation s deficit and use it
in something where it is needed the most supposedly. With this said, this questions the
fact that, is the American Health Care Act honestly the most affordable way to get
Utilitarianism Is Inconsistent With The Demands Of
Friendship
Friendship requires partiality and altruism. If one aims to build a friendship, s/he
must show partiality by making sacrifices that benefit this friend in lieu of
maximizing pleasure for all. Utilitarianism requires persons to act only in ways that
benefit hedonic utility maximizing pleasure while minimizing pain. Utilitarianism
forgoes partiality and requires that an individual only commit actions that benefit the
greater good. Thus, friendshipan act that requires partiality and Utilitarianism an act
that requires impartiality cannot coexist. This raises problems for the utilitarian
because many persons would agree that friendship serves an integral function in any
human life. It seems that no ethical framework should require persons to forgo
anything central to our understanding of life as Utilitarianism might. A person who
wholly espouses Utilitarianism cannot serve as a good friend because the two
contradict each other. Utilitarianism requires one to act impartially while friendship
builds its foundation on partiality.
Roadmap:
In this essay, I will argue for Shafer Landau s suggestion that Utilitarianism is
inconsistent with the demands of friendship. First, I will assert that a true utilitarian
cannot also act as a true friend as result of the two having conflicting and
contradictory ends. Next, I will object my original argument using the claim that
Utilitarianism does often suggest that persons offer preference to their friends and
family. Finally, I

Adolescent, Antisocial Behavior And Behavior
On the other hand, Moffitt (1993) also identifies adolescent limited as part of the
adolescent offenders. Adolescent limited antisocial behaviour is defined by antisocial
behaviour that starts occurring during adolescence and discontinues at the beginning
of adulthood. These individuals have no history of antisocial behaviour in their
childhoodand are unlikely to continue this behaviour in the future. They are also not
consistent with their antisocial behaviour in different situations. While life course
persistent individuals act antisocially in all situations, changing their type of
antisocial behaviour to fit the circumstances, adolescent limited individuals might
only express antisocial behaviours in certain situations, but not in others.
Causes of Adolescent Limited Antisocial Behaviour
The cause of adolescent limited antisocial behaviour is theorised for one to be social
mimicry. Adolescents who do not express life course persistent antisocial behaviour,
might still know or observe individual who do. Adolescents might observe an
advantage in this behaviour and start to mimic it. This advantage might be a mature
status that is accompanied by power and privilege. It can be argued that
industrialisation and the resulting consequence of children achieving the social adult
statutes later and later in life, leads to a maturity gap, where the biological age and
social age do not match up. This may lead to a increased desire for maturity statues
within adolescents.
The Reality Of Television Series
We live in a century where most all the things are normal in today s day, or maybe
that is the way I see things. I was born in the 90 s, where most of the children didn t
have a cellphone, instead they had bicycles, dirt and not stress at all. There were
good times back then. Today we have smart phones, laptops, tablets, and of course
we have Netflix, a global provider of streaming movies and TV series. I have to
mention that there is one TV show in particular that has captivated my eyes, its name;
The Walking Dead . Maybe the title of this American horror drama televisionseries
sounds a little mysterious and scary, first of all, because the serious shows a world
overrun by zombies, but besides that, I have learned a lot from this TV show. One
of the first things that I want to mention is that I like this TV show not because it
has a lot of suspense and special effects, but for the way it can easily be related to
this world. The Walking Dead is about a sheriff who awakens from a long comma
to confront a new world full of zombies that he never could imagine he would live.
He reunites with his family and becomes the leader of a group he forms with other
survivors. Together they struggle to survive in and adapt to a world filled with
zombies and some humans who are even more dangerous than the zombies
themselves, but, why I relate this series with our world? We don t kill zombies, or
have guns. I think each of us has different expectation and I am sure that

the world. Whether it be running for President of the United States, becoming a
professional athlete, or taking a giant step for mankind in an astronaut suit, children
believe they are invincible. For some kids, this belief holds true growing up, while
those who struggle with behavioral and mental disorders are left feeling insignificant
and unimportant. With a good sized amount of the childhood population proving to
have a social, behavioral, mental, or emotional disorder such as anxiety,
schizophrenia, and depression, there is a need for trained professionals in school
settings to help identify these problems early on in students and guide them on the...

Building upon the elementary school psychology techniques that have proven to be
beneficial in the past will be key in the advancement of this field. In the next ten
years , the role of school psychologists will be targeted more towards the efforts of
schools in decreasing violence on campuses.
School psychologists likely will continue to spend more than one half of their time
with at risk students or students with disabilities. However, according to many, what
needs to be done is a change toward less standardized testing to more intervention
oriented assessment, a greater involvement with direct interventions, and more time
spent in problem solving consultation (Reschly).
Combining already proven elementary school psychology fundamentals and methods
with an increased focus on one on one intervention will be the core focus for those
with a career in school psychology as the field continuously develops. One
individual who has had a major influence on the field of school psychology today is
a man by the name of Lightner Witmer. Growing up with a family that respected
education, Witmer had a deep rooted desire for continuous improvement and loved
to be challenged. Lightner Witmer s unique perspective on life allowed him to
pursue a career in education, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree at the
University of Pennsylvania. After teaching English and History for two years at

Why I Choose To Be A Nurse
With an essay topic of why you have chosen to become a nurse , many reasons
come to mind on why I have decided to go to school for nursing; and the fact that
an essay of 250 words is going to be no problem since i have so much to say about
the subject. My first reason is that my entire family, on both sides , have always
been involved in nursing. Another reason is for the job security and need for
nurses in many fields. The last reason I m going to talk about is the want need to
have the knowledge/ability to help anyone in need. The first reason being the easiest
(and the most supported by my family of course) is that my entire life I ve been
surrounded by family that has been either in school for nursing , employed as a nurse
or something of the sort. Starting on my dads side I ve always looked up to my
grandma and my great aunt ; They have a combined 65 years between them (and
still counting!). My aunt Beverly has the most experience on my moms side with
20+ years. More recently my mom just finished her PN classes and has been licensed
and employed as a nurse for 2 years after being inspired by my uncle (a nurse of 9
years) to do so. There is also a few other cousins/distant relatives i could mention or...

Our small town of Grundy started to crumble and shrink away after coal was
rightfully deemed unclean and hurtful to the environment. The population of my
home town has dropped since the 1980 s because the need for coal miners dropped
drastically. People are forced to move away and family s struggling to get by make
the standards of living in that area very low. I want a better life for myself than
what my family lived before me . Up until recently I thought it was normal to live
paycheck to paycheck , with the possibility with becoming a nurse i wont have to
live like that. The job field for nursing is vast and plentiful , It makes me believe I
could make a life for myself in this
DNA Designer Dna Berkowitz
DNA Designer
The research question of the article Designer DNA by Rachel Berkowitz was how
the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) portrays a unique sequence of protein for every
organism. Biologically, all animals including humans have a unique DNA. The study
focuses on how the arrangement of four nucleotide bases determines the DNA
sequence. For decades, scientists have altered the DNA of various organisms to
manipulate the life of living things. They have inserted genes into algae, yeast cells,
and bacteria to produce enzymes that appear in different shapes and structures. The
researchers hypothesized that software makes it less tedious for scientists to predict
the behaviors of host organisms whose DNA have been manipulated. In reality, the

The Disputes Of Scs ( South China s Sea )
The disputes of SCS (South China s Sea) are a perpetual issue on the conflicting
licit claim for territorial land and who has the authority to sovereign it. The dispute
arises, since SCS contains precious natural resources, which the surrounding nations
wish the gain, as it would boost their economy, as a liberalist would think.
However, realistically these resource would provide funding for more military
power, as countries are looking to expand their horizons across the sea. This Great
Debate impacts the world as there is a theoretical aspect of what would occur if a
certain nationwas given sovereign over the territory. Liberalism allows us to
understand that nations have different intentions and one doesn t know what the
other desirers. While realism allows us to understand the true nature of this dispute
over power, since the territory allows nations to create air carrier, therefore vastly
improving and expand their military.
There is a voracity for territory of SCS, since it is imperative to the world s
economy, as it is 3.5 million square kilometres, therefore making it the most valuable
and busiest maritime trade route in the world. The Nansha islands also know as
Spratly Islands are one of the many disputes, since the South East Asian nations
around it argue their right to sovereign it, China in particular. A liberalist approach
causes us to understand that these islands allow China to protect it s border, since
any threat can be stopped before it reaches
Divorce Law
Divorce is a growing epidemic in Canada and the United States. It affects both
parties involved, being the spouses, and also has a profound affect on children of the
marriage. Recently our government has been revising the old divorce act. It was
apparent that it was time to revise the act because it did not properly protect the
children from being caught in the middle of things.
Divorce is defined as follows: to dissolve legally a marriage between; separate (one
of a married couple) from the other by divorce . The Canadian constitution allows
only the federal government to set divorce law. The government of Canadahas a
divorce act, and because it is a federal law, it applies fully and equally in all parts of
Canada and to all Canadian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the divorce act came into effect, the number of divorces granted by
Canadian courts increased quite noticeably. This jump in the rate is due mainly to
couples that had been separated for some time and could file for divorce
immediately. This being the resultant of the waiting period being dropped for three
years down to one. The new law also simplified the process, so some applicants
chose to wait for it to come into effect.
In today s National Post there was an article about the proposed changes to the
divorce act. It seems that Anne McLellan, the justice minister has decided to
postpone the controversial amendments to the act for another three years. Now the
introduction of legislation is expected in May, 2002. It seems our politicians are
more worried about being re elected then taking care of the interests of all the
children affected by divorce. The government claims to be pushing to do away with
old concepts like child ownership but does not fully endorse shared parenting . The
government is not willing to talk about rights, they claim to wish to talk about
concepts like shared responsibility.
As the number of divorces in Canada increases and our awareness on it s affects on
Canada s youth, we must come to the realization that something as
Taylor Swift Rhetorical Analysis
Everyone can relate to at least one Taylor Swift song. Whether you relate it to
another person in your life, current world issues, or even your pet. She has written
numerous songs that people of various ages can relate to. This is only one of the
countless reasons that Taylor Swift is one of my favorite artists.
Taylor Swift s music is one of my passions; the other is politics. Having two passions
is vast, but combining my two passions is even better. Being able to relate to so
many songs that Swift has written, I have also been able to relate them to many of
the presidential candidates that want to be America s next president. From Carly
Fiorina to Ted Cruz to Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump, everyone in politics has that

Taylor Swift s song, Dear John , has Ted Cruz written all over it. When Speaker of
the House, John Boehner, was asked about Cruz s campaign, Boehner simply replied
with putting his middle finger up. After hearing about this incident, it did get me to
wondering if Swift had actually written this song for Ted Cruz.
Next, we have the other woman who is running for the presidency, Hillary Clinton.
This is not the first time we have heard Hillary Clinton s name. She was the First
Lady for eight years and the Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013. In saying all of
this, the only Taylor Swift song that could accurately represent Clinton would be We
Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. We have seen Clinton as First Lady and
Secretary of State, we do not want to see her as President.
In contrast to Hillary Clinton, there is Donald Trump, who is not a politician.
Trump is a real estate mogul, but has entered the presidential race in full swing and
means serious business. If Donald Trump was represented by a Taylor Swift song,
he would be Shake It Off. Trump has taken many blows from the media and the
candidates running against him. With hearing these vile remarks, Trump has been
able to shake it off and shake right into being the leading GOP candidate. Who
knows, maybe Donald Trump will be shaking it off all the way into the White
The Rocks History
The Rocks is one of the oldest areas of the Sydney area, therefore it features a range
of amazingly beautiful old historic and heritage listed buildings. The Sirius building,
for example, was designed and built between 1978 and 1979. The Rocks locality
features Brutalist architecture, buildings which are now used as residential
apartments. The historic architecture and history of The Rocks are not the only
interesting things that make it appealing.
Housing Lifestyle
Older terrace homes, 1960 s to 1980 s styled homes, historic buildings, and modern
apartments are the primary residences featured in this urban locality. The skyline and

Reasonable Doubt History
The Evolution of the Doctrine of Beyond Reasonable Doubt
the beyond reasonable doubt standard has characterized the Anglo American criminal
justice system for more than two hundred years. That system has always depended
heavily upon the jury so that any study of reasonable doubt necessarily must be
linked to an examination of the jury. From the surviving records, it does not appear
that judges initially concerned themselves much with the question of the jury s
evidentiary duties. Early jurors reached decisions on the basis of a mixture of their
own personal knowledge of events and the testimony of others. By the sixteenth
century most of the personal knowledge had dropped away. Once jurors were clearly
perceived to be reaching decisions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their efforts were both shaped and complemented by the enormous upsurge in
epistemological thinking that was a part of what is commonly called the scientific
revolution. Thus the judges confronted twin sources of epistemological guidance.
One was the English religious tradition, particularly the casuistical tradition, which
sought a rational method of decision making in everyday life. The other was the
scientific movement of Bacon, Boyle, and especially Locke and the empirical
philosophers, who sought to establish scientific truth from the evidence they
gathered. This paper is about how judges created the beyond reasonable doubt
standard for the jury, and so it is also about the religious and philosophical thinking
from which that standard was derived.
There are two kinds of rules of evidence in common law jurisdictions. The first,
which deals with what kinds of evidence may get to the jury when and in what form,
can be understood without much reference to nonjury developments. The second
deals with the evaluation by the jury of the evidence, and how it is to decide
whether there is sufficient probative evidence to justify a verdict. Such rules are
drawn from the culture s general understanding of how we know things to be true.
This paper deals with this second variety and
Essential Warts
Warts are a viral infection. Effective treatments must treat the underlying virus. Many
essential oils have antiviral properties. This article describes how to apply essential
oils for warts.
Is It Safe and Effective to Use Essential Oils for Warts?
Which Essential Oils Can I Use to Kill My Warts?
Warts have invaded your body. You ve tried soaking them until your skin is wrinkled,
filing them off, and digging them out. Not only do you still have them, they are
spreading. Someone suggested using essential oils for warts, but you don t know the
first thing about it. Your pharmacy has a selection of oils in their alternative health
section, but there aren t any directions of which ones are good for warts or how to

Is Oregano Essential Oil Effective for Plantar Warts?
Oregano is an essential oil that requires care if you choose it. It s regarded as a hot
oil and will easily burn your skin. It is also considered the best and fastest essential
oil for warts. It works on even the most difficult warts due to strong antiviral action.
Because you can put your feet in a pan of water, oregano oil is especially good for
plantar warts. Start with no more than three or four drops in warm water. If that
doesn t burn or otherwise irritate your feet, you can add more. If you re going to
apply oregano essential oil directly on your plantar wart, dilute it. It s too potent to
use neat. You ll find advice here on how to use duct tape on
Why Did Stalin Want To Grow In The Soviet Union
Before the Soviet Union dissolved into several smaller countries in 1991, it was a
huge country covering around eight million square miles. However, most of the
areas were not suitable to be occupied. They were either too cold, or too hot and
too dry to be occupied. The best land in the Soviet Union was generally located
inside the triangle Leningrad (A) Lake Baikal (B) Odessa (C) shown in Fig. 1. This
was nine tenths of the best land in the Soviet Union, where most cities,
transportation systems, and farms were located. The triangle also includes the Black

The biggest problem was clearing the weeds from the new forests of young trees.
Biologist and agronomist Trofim Denisovich Lysenko (1898 1976), a Promethean,
took this opportunity and was able to convince Stalin to use his unproved planting
method called nest method. It was planting the acorns together with the grain crops,
such as rye, wheat, and similar plants, so that it would cut the planting time, and the
acorns would work together with the grain crops to fight the weeds. A line in the
song no. 2 Оденем родину в леса (Clothe the homeland in
forests) of Song of the Forests op. 81 describes this method of planting;
посеем рожь под сень дубов ( Sow rye under the
canopy of oaks ). The Prometheans gradually managed to exert influence on Stalin.
They eventually took over the Great Stalin Plan from the technocrats when Evgenii
Mikhailovich Chekmenev, a Lysenko supporter, became the leader of GUPL. The
regime required the Lysenko s nest method to be the only way to plan the trees. They
persuaded young Soviet people to show their patriotism by volunteering in the
planting process along with the collective farmers and Minleskhoz; the title of song
no. 5 Комсомольцы выходят вперед! (Young
Communists go forward!) shows

Addressing the multifaceted nature of terrorism necessitates a thorough understanding of its root causes, various forms, and the global impact it has on societies. Furthermore, the writer must grapple with the challenge of maintaining a neutral stance while discussing such a sensitive and emotionally charged issue. Striking a balance between presenting factual information and avoiding the perpetuation of stereotypes or biases is crucial. The need for careful language choices to convey the severity of the issue without sensationalizing or oversimplifying is another layer of complexity. Researching and collecting accurate data from reliable sources becomes imperative, as an essay on terrorism demands a comprehensive analysis that goes beyond surface-level understanding. One must delve into the geopolitical context, historical developments, and the evolving nature of terrorist tactics to provide a nuanced perspective. Realities Redefined in William Gibson s Neuromancer Essay Realities Redefined in William Gibson s Neuromancer The ways in which characters communicate and interact with one another are redefined in William Gibson?s Neuromancer. An all encompassing web of intrigue, the Net enables humans and non humans to access and to communicate an infinite amount of data across time and space. Medical implants open another door on virtual communications. Non living entities such as artificial intelligences and the Dixie Flatline construct overcome the physical barriers of communication. With the implementation of these new communications technologies, the physical and virtual realities of the society waver and meld into one another, resulting in an alienating cyber culture where this new reality of ... He derives his adrenaline rush from stealing data in cyberspace, but he rarely senses emotions from other stimuli. For Case, making love with Linda Lee and with Molly cannot be compared with his love affair with the world of non flesh. As Molly says to Case: ?I saw you stroking that Sendai; man, it was pornographic?(47). When his former employers damage his nervous system with mycotoxin, Case is abruptly cut off from his sensuous love affair with the matrix. For him, it is the Fall (6). Case loses everything that he thinks is important to him, and he attempts to commit suicide. Even his love for Linda cannot help him overcome his depression. After all, physical and emotional love is not the same as being in love with something less tangible, for perhaps it is the intangibleness of the Net that enthrals Case. The cyberspace cowboys have an elite stance towards the physical world, a ?certain relaxed contempt for the flesh. The body was meat?(6). Meat deteriorates, but cyberspace lives on forever. In Case?s situation, it is apparent that it is the ?meat? of one?s physical body that can obstruct one from accessing the greater reality of cyberspace. This virtual reality, however, also impedes Case from fully living his physical life, but he does not completely acknowledge this even after his encounter with the A.I.s Wintermute and Neuromancer.

I definitely liked my old house better. Speaking of my old house, it was like my dream house. It was like I was in my very own world and I had the freedom to do whatever I wanted on that farmland back in Tennessee. Now this stinky dump in Cleveland is nothing like our city in Tennessee. I walked up the old creaky stairs and at the top to the right was my room. As soon as I walked into my room I could not say a word, it was the ugliest room ever, but I knew I had to make it work. Oh I miss those days back at our farm in Tennessee. At home I was always stressed because of school but at the farm it gave me something to do and to take my mind off school. The farm was so fun I got to do whatever I wanted to do,like run throw the corn mazes, take care of the chickens, make sure all the plants had water, play with the gotes, ride horses, there was so many things to do at the farm that you could never get bored. My favorite thing to do was plant different types of vegetables and fruitand watch the plants grow. I truly missed the farm, and all I could think about was the farm and how much fun I had there and how I lived there my whole childhood. The next morning I woke up to the sound of fire truck siren, I guess in the city of Cleveland you will always hear them or anything loud at 6:00 in the morning. I truly thought that this was the jumpiest and loudest city ever, well at least in this part of Cleveland. I stay in my room the rest of the morning trying to figure out how to make my room feel like home. All of a sudden I hear loud screaming from down stairs. We would have never had to move here if you re stupid crops did not die my mom said. The move was really hard on my mom she loved ohio and loved her job,but my mom and dad were not making much money. Then I heard louder screaming, It is not just all my fault you could have got a better job, my dad says. Then I hear screaming even louder how could you say that, you knew I loved my job! My mom said. The screaming went on for another 5 mins, I could not listen to it any more so I decided to

The Harlem Renaissance had played an enormous role in creating this sense of a distinct American identity. Its music, especially, was widely understood as one of the first truly authentic expressions of American experience, unfettered by European influence or tradition (The Humanities 109). Pain is considered the fifth vital sign and should be addressed as important as other vital criteria (Jones Koneti, 2016). It is subjective and is what the patient says it is. Pain can vary from patient to patient. Majority of patients indicate pain verbally, but what happens when an individual cannot verbalize their pain? This is the situation for nonverbal individuals. Pain assessment in the healthcare setting is important because it assists in the diagnosis of the cause of pain. Pain may be an indicator of tissue damage but may also be experienced when there is no identifiable cause (Jones Koneti, 2016). The effectiveness of assessing pain in nonverbal patients is seen with the use of the FLACC scale and can be compared to a verbal report. One method of assessing pain in nonverbal patients is the FLACC scale. It is a nonverbal assessment tool that is used for infants and children under the age of 3. It is an objective assessment of pain in young children. It assesses five behaviors of pain: facial expression, leg movement, activity level, cry and consolability. A score of 0= relaxed and comfortable, 1 3= mild discomfort; 4 6 = moderate pain; 7 10= severe discomfort/pain (Jarvis, 2016). The Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) uses a 10 mm line with endpoint descriptors that are marked no pain on the left end and worst pain imaginable on the right hand side. It also talks about how some underdogs can overcome their weaknesses; in addition, it also explains how power comes in different forms. Malcolm Gladwell proved his arguments by providing some real life experiences of different underdogs. According to Gladwell, an underdog is a person who is underestimated by everyone to perform any task successfully. Malcolm Gladwell also explains many other terms to prove his argument. I have experiences in my student life where I felt like an underdog. I felt disempowered because of my weaknesses. I still remember the first day of my English 838 class at College of San Mateo, and I felt so unconfident in the classroom because I was not a native speaker. There were also moments in my college classes where I felt empowered because of my strengths; for example, I felt empowered in my Math 120 and pre calculusclass because I already knew the concepts of these classes. I had a lot of moments in my life where I felt empowered and disempowered as a student, but learning from those moments helped me to succeed in my college classes. Even though these plays are repeatedly performed, every time there is a difference, every time something has changed. Directors have this power and ability, to be able to change how a character looks, or the point of view, or even just the facial expressions of the character. All of these little differences affect the play and make it look brand new every single time. Setting is an element which can be looked over by the viewer. Sometimes what makes a scene work can be fully tied to its setting and props. With a setting that is realistic and well thought, you can truly tie a scene together. In the Franco Zeffirelli version of the play, we can see that the setting is around the Capulet mansion, by Juliet s balcony. Romeo is below hiding in the bushes. The leaves of the bushes and how Romeo is below them show us how he is hiding and can t be seen by anyone, the night sky and how dark it is in this scene also hide Romeo. Juliet is sitting on the ledge of her balcony. In this production, the balcony is made very wide, so in the scene, Juliet can walk along the entire balcony before Romeo speaks. This also gives her enough space to run away when she is scared by Romeo s voice. The plot is not affected too much by these choices other than being able to have Juliet almost run away from Romeo. Through these setting options that Franco Zeffirelli took during his production, we have a medieval time period look and a more original looking production. However, the

Although steps have been taken to afford individuals the opportunity to obtain an education, there still lies an inequality and therefore, a social problem is created. Using the sociological perspectives of functionalist, conflict, feminist, and interactionist, we can see how each perspective views how this inequality becomes prevalent and how social, as well as economic inequalities of society are inherited through education. Functionalist define a social problem by looking for the functions and dysfunctions of a given topic. The main function of the social institution of education is to educate. Functionalists argue that education struggles to complete it s intended task of education the youth due to the additional tasks that the institution has been assigned. The educational system has taken on roles that normally would be the functions of other social institutions. The education system provides services to students and parents for various problems that they may have. It provides services for students who my have emotional needs, physical challenges, as well as provide classes for parents. Conflict theorists view education as a divider, rather than an equalizer. Conflict theorists focus on social and economic inequalities inherent in our educational system. They also focus on how the system perpetuates these inequalities. Fantasy films frequently cast the leading role to a child because fantasies normally come from the roots of fairy tales. As adults people typically do not read fairy tales, however they do as children. Directors of fantasy films use this information as a way to allow the audience full of adults to feel as if they are in their childhood again reading a familiar story. Pan s Labyrinth and Coraline follow this fantasy code and tell their story through the eyes of a child protagonists. Del Toro comments on why he choose to use a child protagonists in his film, he implies the perspective of childhood innocence is intrinsically critical, declaring fascism is above all a perversion of innocence, and as such a perversion of children (38 Hanley). With current President Donald Trump s American Health Care Act already being active as law, many insurance providers can deny anyone with any pre existing conditions such as acne, diabetes, and pregnancy (Chavez 2017). This example just proves that the American Health Care Act is a step backwards into achieving affordable health insurance. Other changes that are brought upon from this Act include: that states would be able to allow insurers to charge sick people more, and making it less affordable for some. According to the Congressional Budget Office, over 52 Million will be left uninsured due to unaffordable insurance plans mainly coming from the lower class (Levey and Kim 2017). If one aims to build a friendship, s/he must show partiality by making sacrifices that benefit this friend in lieu of maximizing pleasure for all. Utilitarianism requires persons to act only in ways that benefit hedonic utility maximizing pleasure while minimizing pain. Utilitarianism forgoes partiality and requires that an individual only commit actions that benefit the greater good. Thus, friendshipan act that requires partiality and Utilitarianism an act that requires impartiality cannot coexist. This raises problems for the utilitarian because many persons would agree that friendship serves an integral function in any human life. It seems that no ethical framework should require persons to forgo anything central to our understanding of life as Utilitarianism might. A person who wholly espouses Utilitarianism cannot serve as a good friend because the two contradict each other. Utilitarianism requires one to act impartially while friendship builds its foundation on partiality. Roadmap: In this essay, I will argue for Shafer Landau s suggestion that Utilitarianism is inconsistent with the demands of friendship. First, I will assert that a true utilitarian cannot also act as a true friend as result of the two having conflicting and contradictory ends. Next, I will object my original argument using the claim that Utilitarianism does often suggest that persons offer preference to their friends and family. Finally, I

Adolescent limited antisocial behaviour is defined by antisocial behaviour that starts occurring during adolescence and discontinues at the beginning of adulthood. These individuals have no history of antisocial behaviour in their childhoodand are unlikely to continue this behaviour in the future. They are also not consistent with their antisocial behaviour in different situations. While life course persistent individuals act antisocially in all situations, changing their type of antisocial behaviour to fit the circumstances, adolescent limited individuals might only express antisocial behaviours in certain situations, but not in others. Causes of Adolescent Limited Antisocial Behaviour The cause of adolescent limited antisocial behaviour is theorised for one to be social mimicry. Adolescents who do not express life course persistent antisocial behaviour, might still know or observe individual who do. Adolescents might observe an advantage in this behaviour and start to mimic it. This advantage might be a mature status that is accompanied by power and privilege. It can be argued that industrialisation and the resulting consequence of children achieving the social adult statutes later and later in life, leads to a maturity gap, where the biological age and social age do not match up. This may lead to a increased desire for maturity statues within adolescents.
  • 42. The Reality Of Television Series We live in a century where most all the things are normal in today s day, or maybe that is the way I see things. I was born in the 90 s, where most of the children didn t have a cellphone, instead they had bicycles, dirt and not stress at all. There were good times back then. Today we have smart phones, laptops, tablets, and of course we have Netflix, a global provider of streaming movies and TV series. I have to mention that there is one TV show in particular that has captivated my eyes, its name; The Walking Dead . Maybe the title of this American horror drama televisionseries sounds a little mysterious and scary, first of all, because the serious shows a world overrun by zombies, but besides that, I have learned a lot from this TV show. One of the first things that I want to mention is that I like this TV show not because it has a lot of suspense and special effects, but for the way it can easily be related to this world. The Walking Dead is about a sheriff who awakens from a long comma to confront a new world full of zombies that he never could imagine he would live. He reunites with his family and becomes the leader of a group he forms with other survivors. Together they struggle to survive in and adapt to a world filled with zombies and some humans who are even more dangerous than the zombies themselves, but, why I relate this series with our world? We don t kill zombies, or have guns. I think each of us has different expectation and I am sure that

Whether it be running for President of the United States, becoming a professional athlete, or taking a giant step for mankind in an astronaut suit, children believe they are invincible. For some kids, this belief holds true growing up, while those who struggle with behavioral and mental disorders are left feeling insignificant and unimportant. With a good sized amount of the childhood population proving to have a social, behavioral, mental, or emotional disorder such as anxiety, schizophrenia, and depression, there is a need for trained professionals in school settings to help identify these problems early on in students and guide them on the... In the next ten years , the role of school psychologists will be targeted more towards the efforts of schools in decreasing violence on campuses. School psychologists likely will continue to spend more than one half of their time with at risk students or students with disabilities. However, according to many, what needs to be done is a change toward less standardized testing to more intervention oriented assessment, a greater involvement with direct interventions, and more time spent in problem solving consultation (Reschly). Combining already proven elementary school psychology fundamentals and methods with an increased focus on one on one intervention will be the core focus for those with a career in school psychology as the field continuously develops. One individual who has had a major influence on the field of school psychology today is a man by the name of Lightner Witmer. Growing up with a family that respected education, Witmer had a deep rooted desire for continuous improvement and loved to be challenged. Lightner Witmer s unique perspective on life allowed him to pursue a career in education, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Why I Choose To Be A Nurse With an essay topic of why you have chosen to become a nurse , many reasons come to mind on why I have decided to go to school for nursing; and the fact that an essay of 250 words is going to be no problem since i have so much to say about the subject. My first reason is that my entire family, on both sides , have always been involved in nursing. Another reason is for the job security and need for nurses in many fields. The last reason I m going to talk about is the want need to have the knowledge/ability to help anyone in need. The first reason being the easiest (and the most supported by my family of course) is that my entire life I ve been surrounded by family that has been either in school for nursing , employed as a nurse or something of the sort. Starting on my dads side I ve always looked up to my grandma and my great aunt ; They have a combined 65 years between them (and still counting!). My aunt Beverly has the most experience on my moms side with 20+ years. More recently my mom just finished her PN classes and has been licensed and employed as a nurse for 2 years after being inspired by my uncle (a nurse of 9 years) to do so. DNA Designer Dna Berkowitz DNA Designer The research question of the article Designer DNA by Rachel Berkowitz was how the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) portrays a unique sequence of protein for every organism. Biologically, all animals including humans have a unique DNA. The study focuses on how the arrangement of four nucleotide bases determines the DNA sequence. For decades, scientists have altered the DNA of various organisms to manipulate the life of living things. They have inserted genes into algae, yeast cells, and bacteria to produce enzymes that appear in different shapes and structures. The researchers hypothesized that software makes it less tedious for scientists to predict the behaviors of host organisms whose DNA have been manipulated. In reality, the actions

The Disputes Of Scs ( South China s Sea ) The disputes of SCS (South China s Sea) are a perpetual issue on the conflicting licit claim for territorial land and who has the authority to sovereign it. The dispute arises, since SCS contains precious natural resources, which the surrounding nations wish the gain, as it would boost their economy, as a liberalist would think. However, realistically these resource would provide funding for more military power, as countries are looking to expand their horizons across the sea. This Great Debate impacts the world as there is a theoretical aspect of what would occur if a certain nationwas given sovereign over the territory. Liberalism allows us to understand that nations have different intentions and one doesn t know what the other desirers. While realism allows us to understand the true nature of this dispute over power, since the territory allows nations to create air carrier, therefore vastly improving and expand their military. There is a voracity for territory of SCS, since it is imperative to the world s economy, as it is 3.5 million square kilometres, therefore making it the most valuable and busiest maritime trade route in the world. The Nansha islands also know as Spratly Islands are one of the many disputes, since the South East Asian nations around it argue their right to sovereign it, China in particular. A liberalist approach causes us to understand that these islands allow China to protect it s border, since any threat can be stopped before it reaches

Recently our government has been revising the old divorce act. It was apparent that it was time to revise the act because it did not properly protect the children from being caught in the middle of things. Divorce is defined as follows: to dissolve legally a marriage between; separate (one of a married couple) from the other by divorce . The Canadian constitution allows only the federal government to set divorce law. When the divorce act came into effect, the number of divorces granted by Canadian courts increased quite noticeably. This jump in the rate is due mainly to couples that had been separated for some time and could file for divorce immediately. This being the resultant of the waiting period being dropped for three years down to one. The new law also simplified the process, so some applicants chose to wait for it to come into effect. In today s National Post there was an article about the proposed changes to the divorce act. It seems that Anne McLellan, the justice minister has decided to postpone the controversial amendments to the act for another three years. Now the introduction of legislation is expected in May, 2002. It seems our politicians are more worried about being re elected then taking care of the interests of all the children affected by divorce. The government claims to be pushing to do away with old concepts like child ownership but does not fully endorse shared parenting . The government is not willing to talk about rights, they claim to wish to talk about concepts like shared responsibility. As the number of divorces in Canada increases and our awareness on it s affects on Canada s youth, we must come to the realization that something as

She has written numerous songs that people of various ages can relate to. This is only one of the countless reasons that Taylor Swift is one of my favorite artists. Taylor Swift s music is one of my passions; the other is politics. Having two passions is vast, but combining my two passions is even better. Taylor Swift s song, Dear John , has Ted Cruz written all over it. When Speaker of the House, John Boehner, was asked about Cruz s campaign, Boehner simply replied with putting his middle finger up. After hearing about this incident, it did get me to wondering if Swift had actually written this song for Ted Cruz. Next, we have the other woman who is running for the presidency, Hillary Clinton. This is not the first time we have heard Hillary Clinton s name. She was the First Lady for eight years and the Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013. In saying all of this, the only Taylor Swift song that could accurately represent Clinton would be We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. We have seen Clinton as First Lady and Secretary of State, we do not want to see her as President. In contrast to Hillary Clinton, there is Donald Trump, who is not a politician. Trump is a real estate mogul, but has entered the presidential race in full swing and means serious business. If Donald Trump was represented by a Taylor Swift song, he would be Shake It Off. Trump has taken many blows from the media and the candidates running against him. With hearing these vile remarks, Trump has been able to shake it off and shake right into being the leading GOP candidate. Who knows, maybe Donald Trump will be shaking it off all the way into the White

  • 51. Reasonable Doubt History The Evolution of the Doctrine of Beyond Reasonable Doubt the beyond reasonable doubt standard has characterized the Anglo American criminal justice system for more than two hundred years. That system has always depended heavily upon the jury so that any study of reasonable doubt necessarily must be linked to an examination of the jury. From the surviving records, it does not appear that judges initially concerned themselves much with the question of the jury s evidentiary duties. Early jurors reached decisions on the basis of a mixture of their own personal knowledge of events and the testimony of others. By the sixteenth century most of the personal knowledge had dropped away. Once jurors were clearly perceived to be reaching decisions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Their efforts were both shaped and complemented by the enormous upsurge in epistemological thinking that was a part of what is commonly called the scientific revolution. Thus the judges confronted twin sources of epistemological guidance. One was the English religious tradition, particularly the casuistical tradition, which sought a rational method of decision making in everyday life. The other was the scientific movement of Bacon, Boyle, and especially Locke and the empirical philosophers, who sought to establish scientific truth from the evidence they gathered. This paper is about how judges created the beyond reasonable doubt standard for the jury, and so it is also about the religious and philosophical thinking from which that standard was derived. There are two kinds of rules of evidence in common law jurisdictions. The first, which deals with what kinds of evidence may get to the jury when and in what form, can be understood without much reference to nonjury developments. The second deals with the evaluation by the jury of the evidence, and how it is to decide whether there is sufficient probative evidence to justify a verdict. Such rules are drawn from the culture s general understanding of how we know things to be true. This paper deals with this second variety and

Biologist and agronomist Trofim Denisovich Lysenko (1898 1976), a Promethean, took this opportunity and was able to convince Stalin to use his unproved planting method called nest method. It was planting the acorns together with the grain crops, such as rye, wheat, and similar plants, so that it would cut the planting time, and the acorns would work together with the grain crops to fight the weeds. A line in the song no. 2 Оденем СЂРѕРґРёРЅСѓ РІ леса (Clothe the homeland in forests) of Song of the Forests op. 81 describes this method of planting; посеем рожь РїРѕРґ сень РґСѓР±РѕРІ ( Sow rye under the canopy of oaks ). The Prometheans gradually managed to exert influence on Stalin. They eventually took over the Great Stalin Plan from the technocrats when Evgenii Mikhailovich Chekmenev, a Lysenko supporter, became the leader of GUPL.
