Theogony And The Biblical Book Of Genesis, Hesiod And Genesis
At first glance, the story of how it all began in Hesiod s Theogony, and in the Biblical book of Genesis
reveals certain similarities that I picked up on. Hesiod and Genesis share the same order of events:
mankind exists in alongside heavenly beings in utopia where there is just; a woman is introduced into
this utopian world; the actions of the woman produces the loss of before said utopia. This pattern is
used by both works of literature to better explain the presence of problems such as chaos and turmoil
in human existence, and both Hesiod and Genesis credit the first woman with these problems. In a
journal article Published by The Johns Hopkins University Press, the author declares that It is
especially striking that the biblical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Genesis 3.16)
But despite these similarities, Eve and Pandora are characteristically different. Unlike Pandora, Eve is
not naturally evil. She was created from one of Adams ribs, making Eve of the same material and
nature as her husband. Pandora, conversely, is basically different from man. I figured this because
Hesiod does not give a significant story of how man came to be in these sections, but Pandora s
attributes from the gods, including both her beauty and her deceitfulness, marks her as a separate
individual. However, Eve is meant to be a companion for Adam, to say that Pandora was a gift is
plainly ironic. This inconsistency is at the difference between the women. Pandora is a punishment for
man. Theogony exposes this, by calling her evil for man or through the instance with the jar, which is
an indicator of her deceitful nature. Neither work specifies if Pandora actually undergoes suffering
alongside man. Eve, however, is a victim of her actions as much as Adam is, and these two suffer
together, if not wholly in the same way.
Despite their inherent differences, I do believe they are similar in how they are portrayed as the less
significant sex. Despite Eve being created from Adam, she was not created of an entirely new
framework such as Adam, as if she was not important enough to do so. Both Pandora and Eve were
created secondly both

The Lack Of Responsibility Of The Teacher s Union
The argument of the consistency of our education system has been going on for few decades. We all
agree on the base that the school system has been broken. There have been solutions proposed, such as
George W. Bush reform act No Child Left Behind, but we hadn t seen a drastic change in the system.
The biggest question that is raised is that what changes, as flawed as the system looks, should be
implemented to the system to benefit and excel each and every student in our nation. Is the problem
from the lack of responsibility of the teacher s union as Waiting for Superman argued or is there more
to it? Though it might look convincing to criticize factors such as the national teachers union for how
deprived our education system is, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In reality, charter schools only take away funding from the public schools whom already lack funding.
Though Waiting for Superman outline the issue of why public schools failing as a minor importance
and simple to solve, the problem is immense and pleads for a change. Lack of funding being the main
issue, it is in a chain connection with overcrowded schools and thus leading to students not getting the
proper aid to surpass their grade level. Low funded school means that teachers will get laid off, which
will increase class size, increase the burden on the teacher, and after school programs will be
minimized. If the class is overcrowded a teacher wouldn t be able to teach students according to
curriculum. This means that teachers are only going to teach and not be able to help other students
because of the time and funding constraint. According to (U.S. Department of Education, 2011) more
than 40% of Low Income Schools don t get a fair share of state and local funds. This is mostly seen in
areas that are overpopulated. Based on the Congressional Budget Office s projection made on 2012,
funding would be cut by $1.1 billion, cutting off funding to more than 4,000 schools serving an
estimated 1.8 million disadvantaged students. The jobs of more than 15,000 teachers and aides would
be at risk. Students would lose access to individual instruction, afterschool programs, and other
interventions that help close achievement gaps (U.S. Department of

Analysis Of Selling Of A Serial Killer
Selling of a Serial Killer directed by Nick Bloomfield was a compelling documentary that followed
the trial of Aileen Wuornos, America s first female serial killer who had killed seven men along a
highway between 1989 and 1990. The film opens with newscasts covering the subject to show the
severity of the matter, that serial killing were more common in the later portion of the nineties (Selling
of a Serial Killer). Aileen s full confession for the murder of Richard Mullary is introduced to the
audience within the first five minutes. Her confession is one of self defense insisting that she was
continuing abused by her clients during the course of her career as an escort and prostitute. This is
used as a technique to insight pity and sympathy. Bloomfield takes great interest into her lawyer Steve
Grazer, asking about his multiple professions, including being an agent for Aileens adoptive mother,
Arlene Pralle in addition to pressing Bloomfield for money supposedly requested by Aileen for an
interview (Selling of a Serial Killer).
The great interest in Steve Grazer is a tacktick to insight suspicion into Steve, who is portrayed as a
controversial quirky character, with every little law experience. As well as portraying Arlene as less of
a mother figure, and more as a person willing to exploit Aileen for her personal gain, shown by the
multiple conflicts in the film (Selling of a Serial Killer). Bloomfield often uses film from newscasts
because of the conflicts that had

Vincennes University
Abstract This is an essay over an evaluation of the video of Man in the Mirror by the proclaimed King
of Pop, Michael Jackson. The song focuses on the efforts of an individual to improve himself and
change the world. Self reflection, inner pain, and personal improvement are well known original
themes for a poem, and make a promising fit to this song. Not only known for asking for change in
oneself, but in famous for being an anthem for world change. This is notably because of the montage
style video, which features world leaders and events, but not Jackson himself. This video itself brings
politics, culture, and leader in the mix, and suggesting a change in the negative areas of the world.
Directors of this video set out to make a statement and leave a lasting impression on the world and
anyone watching the Man in the Mirror . The ultimate theme of the song is that in order to change the
world, we have to change ourselves; there is no change without start with oneself.

The video supported the positive message of the lyrics. Michael Jackson doesn t even appear in his
own video at all. Instead, a mix of political and cultural leaders, famous world events and
controversial happenings fill Jackson s place to enhance his vision of change. President Ronald
Reagan, Mahatma Gandhi, M.L.K. the Civil Rights movement, John Lennon, the Kennedy s, and
other influential people of the world share this montage with polar opposites like the Soviet Union,
KKK rallies, wars, bombings and all types of world crisis. Showing footage of world events from the
past 50 before 1988 not only broadened the picture Jackson wanted to paint, but it also hit a wider
array of people. The more people related to events, meant a big audience to send a message; the

Facebook, 100,000 people will tweet, hundreds of thousands more will like an Instagram photo...and
that s if they read very quickly (Marrouat). Today, many people use the Internet for everything. The
internet has many benefits, anyone that has a computer with internet can find any information and can
even add to it. That s why the Internet is known as the collected knowledge of millions of people. The
most popular tool of the Internet though, is its way for socialization. Socialization is referring to the
way people communicate and how they do it. There are places where people can go to get in contact
or stay in contact with others and places where people go to talk about their interests. Facebook is an
example of a place where people can socialize and talk with friends and acquaintances or even join
chat rooms. The internet is drastically changing the way people communicate and interact with each
other. Because of this dependence on the Internet, our relationships with other people are diminishing.
There are many different ways that humans interact together. The way most of America interacts is
over Social Media. There are many problems involved with this. Relationships with people all around

The Construction of Fallingwater Frank Lloyd Wright Essay
Fallingwater The prominent and imaginative Wisconsin born American architect, interior designer and
author, Frank Lloyd Wright hit his architectural milestone in the mid 1930s when he designed his
world renowned master piece in Bear Run, Western Pennsylvania, Fallingwater also referred to as
Kaufmann Residence. Owing to his unique perspective in architecture which he refers to as organic ,
the structure looks as though it sprung naturally amidst Bear Run s trees and water. Frank Lloyd

He chose the site for the house because he understood that humans were in close relationship with
nature, therefore a plan which was in line with nature would connect to what was fundamental in
people. For example, while all of Fallingwater is opened by large bands of windows, the inhabitants
are sheltered as if to be in a deep cave. Conviviality, privacy and comfort are not compromised,
allowing people room to relax and explore the amusement of a life clean in nature. As soon as Wright
had chosen the area on which the house would be built, there was a clear issue building there. The
situation was that the northern levee of Bear Run was too narrow to bestow a foundation for a house
that would be built to his standards (Toker, 39, Fallingwater Rising: America s most extraordinary
house). Apart from this issue, the Kaufmann s requirements needed to be achieved due to the fact that
they had planned to have large numbers of people over and therefore it was required that the house be
larger than the available plot size. In addition, Mr. and Mrs. Kaufmann had asked to have separate
bedrooms including another for their oldest son and a supplementary room for guests. Wright s answer
to the issue of space was birthed when he had decided to include a cantilevered structure. Smith (320)
outlined that the systemic design for Fallingwater was carried out by Wright in consortium with

Three Potential Recipients
It s time to make a complex decision. There is a heart available to transplant from a young woman
who has lost her life in a car accident at just 20 years of age. There are three patients awaiting a
transplant and they are a match with this newly available heart. Now who would be the best candidate
to receive this heart? With further evaluation of the three potential recipients we can clearly
distinguish who will be the patient who will be chosen. It is taken into consideration who will benefit
most from the heart transplant in the long run. In terms of both life expectancy and quality of life to
continue living a life of significance.
After evaluation of the three potential recipients who may receive the heart transplant, I believe
recipient number one will be the best candidate. Arthur is 49 years of age and is an individual who is

best decision we need to look at some patient evaluations and the background on all the potential
recipients. Cardiac transplantation should be reserved for those patients most likely to benefit in terms
of both life expectancy and quality of life. Also, which predict long term survival and quality of life

The firm has developed a program that collects data from its users and is studying the information

practice for overcoming the above mentioned issue is to get consent through broad general terms of

The consent gives social networking companies the rights to collect, store, access, and study data on

Negative Effects Of Persepolis
Revolution is defined as the forcible overthrow of a government or social order in favor of a new
system. Although revolutions often overthrow oppressive regimes, countries may suffer from war or
violent internal conflict in the process. The negative effects of these conflicts are generally viewed as
worth the overall benefit. But, one consequence no one ever thinks about is the toll war takes on the
country s residents, especially the country s youth. What kind of effect does war have for young
impressionable children? Marjane Satrapi was a young girl who lived during the Iranian revolution. In
her book, she documents her thoughts, feelings, and experiences while she lived in Iran. Her story
exemplifies the effects of the revolution on Marjane s personality and childhood development. In
Marjane Satrapi s graphic novel Persepolis, the author explores Marjane s development from being a
child, who had innocence, to an adult, who knows the truth about the world, in order to convey the
significance of the Iranian revolution on the development of Iran s youth and how it negatively affects
the people they become.
Although she is a child, Marjane comes to a realization about government corruption which sets the
tone for her attitude about authority for the rest of her life. In chapter three, Marjane comes to this
realization after she tries to get involved in a conversation with her parents about the revolution. Her
innocence about the concept of government corruption is

Background And Personal Interest Of Occupational Therapy
Eduardo Mendoza Pierce 4 ERWC 24 November 2014 Introduction/Background and Personal Interest
I ve been interested in occupational therapy for a while now because of the fact that you are given the
chance of helping others recover how to live. Also, but not the main reason why I am interested, OT s
make a decent living. Occupational therapy has been around since the 1900 s. It has made multiple
changes to it s principles for the benefit of others, and it s own prestige. The Quality of life was
becoming increasingly accepted as a goal of occupational therapy intervention (History, 2014).
Occupational therapy helps people recover skills lost from mental illnesses, accidents, and injuries,
that are needed for daily living and working. Occupational therapy interests me because it involves
helping people out and helping people relearn how to live their lives. As an occupational therapist you
are required to monitor and observe your patients doing tasks, evaluating their conditions and needs. A
treatment plan is usually developed by an occupational therapist that lays out the different types of
activities and goals that are to completed by the patient. Therapists show patients how to use the

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Japanese Food
Traditional Japanese cuisine is based on rice with miso soup and other dishes, with an emphasis on
seasonal ingredients. Side dishes often include; fish, pickled vegetables, and vegetables cooked in

Three Years She Gew Research Paper
The English Romantic Age, which lasted from the late 18th century to the middle of the 19th century,
was born of the ideas of William Wordsworth, British poet and author. Many critics of this era believe
that Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge s co publication of a collection of poems called Lyrical
Ballads initiated Romanticism, which featured themes of nature, individualism and emotion.
Wordsworth s works are representative of this era; they include ideas about personal experience and
emotion, as well as the influence of nature on man. He also used and advocated simple language that
any reader could comprehend. This radical form of literature influenced other poets to write in a
similar manner, creating a movement that forever changed poetry. Wordsworth s ideas that prompted
the Romantic Period were due to his upbringing and experiences as a student. Born in the spring of
1770, Wordsworth grew up with four siblings in England along the Derwent River, exposing him early
on to nature s beauty. He drew inspiration for his autobiographical poem, The Prelude, from his
schooling at Cockermouth, as well as from his education in Hawkshead, where he and his brother
attended school. He then attended Cambridge, using his experiences there to note his changing ideas
of his education in the third book of The Prelude. This movement ... Show more content on

Archeology Personal Statement
I can pinpoint my decision to pursue a career in archeology to a single day. I was touring the old city
of Quebec in the summer of 2012 and happened upon an archeological dig site that was being opened

settled in Quebec. Pieces of shattered pottery and rusted coins were on display. I marveled at the
thought of unearthing something previously lost to history. When I began my high school career, I had
the opportunity to be exposed to a range of social studies courses in and outside of my high school, all
of which have reinforced my interest in history, and have provided me with a different perspective on

me. The Rembrandt Tulip, famous for its mosaic virus that causes a multicolor effect of lines, was
made popular after being featured in many paintings of the Dutch masters. It was this fame that in part
led to the drastic increase in the price of tulips. After studying tulip mania and visiting the

Jesus Christ ( Christology )
Jesus Christ (Christology)
I believe Jesus is fully God and fully man (Phil 2:6 11), one person with two natures, conceived by the
Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:34 38), accredited by God through miracles, wonders
and signs which God did through Him, died on the cross to justify all sinners who believe in Him from
God s wrath (1 Pet 3:18; Rom 5:9), arose from the dead (Acts 2:23 24) and is now at the right hand of
God the Father (Heb 8:1), and will come again to establish His kingdom (Matt 26:64).
The conception by the Holy Spirit instead of by the line of descent from Adam, and the virgin birth by
Mary together show that the unity of fully divine and fully human in one person of Jesus and the
source of salvation from the Holy God instead of from human including Mary (Gen. 3:15; Luke 1:35)
Jesus is one person (hypostatic union and not Nestorianism for two persons) with two distinct wills
(centers of consciousness) belong to the two preserved natures (Mark 13:32; John 2:25, 16:30, 21:17,
not Apollinarianism for one divine nature nor Eutychianism for one mixed new nature)
The Lord Jesus preexists with God, was God and is God (John 1:1). He, being in very nature God, did
not consider equality with God but made himself a man (Phil 2:6 8) without losing any of His divine
attributes (Col 1:19, 2:9). He should be worshiped in the same sense and to the same degree as the
Father by every creature (Rev. 5:13) because He is fully God and in Him all the fullness of

barrier from chemicals, disease, UV light, and physical damage. Hair and nails both develop from the
skin to protects us from environmental damages. The integumentary has four main types of glands that
excrete sweat, oil, wax, and milk. (Skin) The integumentary system can develop disorders or diseases.
An example of a disorder would be skin cancer.

The Dermis is separated by two main layers called the superficial layer and the deep layer. The
superficial layer consists of looser areolar connective tissue and the deep layer consists of dense
irregular connective tissue. Dermal cells have four main cells types called fibroblast cells, macrophage
cells, adipocyte cells, and mast cells. The most interesting cell to me are the mast cells. Mast cells
release two chemicals called Histamine and heparin. Histamine increases blood flow that relaxes
smooth muscle. Heparin is a blood thinner that increases capillary diffusion. (Tabor)
The epidermal Layer consists of 5 strata layers called the stratum basale, stratum spinosum, stratum
granulosum, stratum lucidum, and the stratum corneum. The stratum basale contains two cells called
the keratinocytes and melanocytes. Keratinocytes produce keratin and melanocytes produce melanin.
Melanin is only found in the epidermis and it protects the body from UV rays. The stratum spinosum
has tons of layers of keratinocytes. The deepest spinosum layer can undergo mitosis, pushing more
keratinocytes toward the surface (Tabor). The stratum granulosum has cells that contain an oily
substance. This oil substance waterproofs the skins and prevents the skin from dehydrating. Stratum
Lucidum cells have no nuclei or organelles. The stratum corneum

Guardian Figure Essay
Guardian Figure
Upon first sight of this sculpture, one is introduced to its overwhelming expression and brilliant size.
This untitled statue stands approximately life size at a mere six to six and a half feet tall and is about
two or three feet wide. He is standing upright on a gray rectangular structure approximately three feet
off the grounding making him about nine and half feet total. This is a monstrous sculpture when
looked upon firsthand. It seemingly is a man, possibly a warrior of some kind.
This statue is made from two different types of wood. The first of which is chestnut, which seems to
encompass the lower portion of his body and in his clothing. Its color is a faded type of tan flesh tone.
The second type of wood is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The creator of this sculpture chose a very interesting subject matter. It appears to be a man, possibly a
warrior. He is larger in size, and is defined well physically. His facial features are extremely stylized
and lack detail. His bulky and overwhelming size makes it hard for one to look at. His shirtless upper
body is shown in great detail in a type of circular fashion. It is anything but naturalistic. It is highly
exaggerated in a way that makes him appear bigger than he actually may be. His lower body is
covered from his hips to his knees with clothing, which bares resemblance to a kilt of dress. He has
something on his head, which resembles a ponytail but could also pass from some type of headdress.
He is also wearing enormous sandals from which his immense feet protrude.
The texture of the surface of this sculpture is extremely rough, obviously due to the material from
which it was made from. This roughness is somewhat appropriate in that it displays this characters
intense anger. The garb of this statue is smoother than that of the flesh, and hangs down to the back of
his feet. It flows in a natural way, creating a sense of depth and dimensionality that the rest of the
statue lacks. The wavy, curvy lines found throughout his attire makes the eye move around the lower
portion of the body, and brings the eye upward toward the chest and stomach region. It seems to

What Is The Secret Of Prosperity
The Secret Of Prosperity The Secret of Prosperity is a very simple one. It is so simple that the people
do not realize it. Many people do a lot of work throughout the day and do not find blessings in their
work. Some people find that whatever they touch prospers. The secret is given by the psalmist in
Psalm 1: 1 3. Blessed is the man whose delight is in the Law of the Lord and in His law he meditates
day and night. It is not possible to read the Bible day and night all the time. But meditating in the Law
of the Lord means that he should compare his thoughts, words and deeds with the Law and
commandments of the Lord always. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water which brings
forth its fruit in its season. His leaf also shall not wither. People expect the fruit of the blessings of
God the moment they decide for the Lord. But there is a season for bringing forth the fruit. And above
all it is said, Whatsoever he doeth shall prosper (Psalm 1: 3). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Pros And Cons Of Government Operated Security
Evaluating the pros and cons of government operated security versus returning to privately owned
security
Summary
This case study will discuss the pros and cons of operating an airport with a government operated
system of security versus returning to a privately owned and operated security organization. The
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was introduced to the airline industry after the attacks
on September 11th, 2001. Complaints of slow wait times during periods of heavy traffic and the
ability to manage the labor force have recently sparked an interest of Airports switching their security
to a privatized company.
Problem Statement
Airport security has always been a top priority for the airline industry and lately more airports are
leaning towards having a privatized company to run their security program.
Significance of the Problem
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was created on November 19, 2001, and was
signed into law by the 107th Congress (NMAH, 2011). The TSA was created to strengthen the
security of transportation systems while allowing free movement of people and trade (NMAH, 2011).
In recent years the administration has seen a lower budget due to the removal of three programs and
the money will be diverted to fund the wall on the Mexico border (Halsey, 2017). Slow screening
times from TSA are causing people to miss their flights due to the large lines. Also, numerous items of
contraband are not being detected by the

Animal Farm Napoleon Language
Napoleon s use of language to constantly deceive the other animals is shown throughout the entirety
of the book. Napoleon and the other pigs are much more fluent and knowledgeable with their
vocabulary, allowing them to use emotive and descriptive language to influence the animal s thoughts.
Napoleons right hand man Squealer is adept at fooling the lower class of the farm and Napoleon uses
him to do gain more favour with the animals. Squealer through the use of sophisticated language
makes the other animals actually believe that Napoleon was the hero of the Battle of the Cowshed,
when in reality Napoleon ran away at the very start of the battle. Napoleon uses Squealer expertise in
language to rewrite history to fulfil his desire for power. You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are
doing this in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? Many of us actually dislike milk and apples...Milk
and apples contain substances absolutely necessary to the well being of a pig...the whole management
and organization of this farm depend on us . Quotes such as this are used when the pigs are questioned
by the other animals on the farm. Napoleon and Squealer through the use of language is able to
persuade the animals into believing that everything he does is for the good of the farm. How Napoleon
is able to persuade his people with no regret or remorse is proof that his desire for power is the only
thing he truly wants. This language is presented several times throughout the text and is a

Weaknesses are a symptom that is prevalent in today s information technology realm, indicating
vulnerabilities and risks that come hand and hand with shared networks like Aircraft Solutions. With
enterprises exchanging an unprecedented level of information over open networks, the vulnerabilities
and possibility of compromised security by unwanted intruders is swelling up into a new type of beast.
At Aircraft Solutions, there are several samples of concerns that could lead to a breach of information

The consequences of leaving all their information in one location can be catastrophic to the company s
operation and integrity as valued by their clients. Remotely storing vital information should be the
first precaution taken when installing an archive full of fragile data. NAS (network attached storage),
typically used in the form of cloud or RAID devices provides a safe approach to storing company
information. Common uses are central file storage, media streaming, print serving and backup for all
the local drives on your network. You can even access most NAS drives from the Internet if desired.
(How to Buy Network Attached Storage Drives, Becky Waring). If the NAS devices aren t sufficient,
file servers can support up to 25 users simultaneously and meet the high demands of the usage that
typically come with a large network. Business Process Management (BPM) software is a crucial
aspect in security policy and infrastructure and another major concern for this firm. Considering the
layout of the network, in which employees from various locations and customers ranging around the
globe can access, Aircraft Solutions should be sure their BPM is strong. One of the primary goals of
instituting a business process management system is to provide greater accountability for departmental
functions, from tracking and monitoring expenditures to ensuring deliverables are met.

Comparing Love In The Canterbury Tales
Love in The Knight s Tale, Wife of Bath s Tale, and Franklin s Tale
The Canterbury Tales, written by Geoffrey Chaucer around 1386, is a
collection of tales told by pilgrims on a religious pilgrimage. Three of these
tales; The Knight s Tale , The Wife of Bath s Tale , and The Franklin s Tale ,
involve different kinds of love and different love relationships. Some of the
loves are based on nobility, some are forced and some are based on mutual
respect for each partner. My idea of love is one that combines aspects from each
of the tales told in The Canterbury Tales.
In The Knights Tale , the love between the two knights and Emily is
intensely powerful. The love that Palomon and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Palomon says, The Beauty of the lady whom I see wandering yonder in the garden
is the cause of all my cries and woes. This is not something That I would want

the love of this woman, whom they have never even met. For all they know she
could be the most annoying person on earth. In that case they would be risking
their lives, only to spend the rest of it with a beautiful and extremely
annoying woman.
In The Wife of Bath s Tale A knight is forced to marry a wretched old
woman to avoid death. The knight and the old woman do not get along well, and
when the old woman suggests that she can make things better, the knight responds
saying, Corrected? . . . It will never be corrected! You are so loathsome and
old. A love relationship such as this could never last because their is no
attraction, physical or mental. A major factor in love is physical attraction
between the two partners, here their is no attraction. Two people cannot love
each other if they can t stand to be around each other. The knight can hardly bare
to look at his wife, let alone sleep with her.
Despite the fact that the knight despises her, the old woman persists on

ambition of becoming a lawyer in the area of international relations.
Besides learning foreign languages, I also engage in community service as an extra curricular activity.
Participating in community service provides an opportunity to interact with different groups and share
ideas that could bring positive change. In this regard, I find the community service experiences as
inspiring to my pursuit of becoming a lawyer since such efforts usually boil down to the realization of
equality among people and groups from diverse outcomes. Therefore, engaging in extracurricular
activities that seek to promote positive change in the society have been crucial towards supporting my
lifetime goals besides contributing positively to the underserved cohorts in the U.S.

Gangs of New York: A Cultural Shift In the movie Gangs of New York , we see a city changed and
reshaped through cultural influence of feuding individuals with different ideas. The movie is about a
young man, Amsterdam Vance, who seeks to avenge his father, who was brutally murder in a gang
dispute, against his adversary Bill the Butcher. On the surface the movie seems simple enough but in
the back ground we see a cultural shift as immigrants come into America. Also we see political
influences and material possession such as clothing and other belongings set people apart and define
the social status of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, we see political figures that used their power of persuasion to get votes. They were
commoners of a higher caliber that use both sides of the spectrum to further their cause. All this came
at a time of great turmoil, as the civil war is still going on and many great changes have come to
America. Not only is there a mass influx due to the Irish trying to better themselves but also President
Lincoln has freed the slaves and black people can no longer be considered property. Not only were
they no longer servants but they were also allowed to serve in the military. The link between military
service and full citizenship and inclusion is one that has had powerful resonance in our own time. The
end of Don t ask, Don t Tell and the full participation of gays and lesbians in our armed forces
represent, as Lincoln described the Emancipation Proclamation itself, a profound act of justice, a
carrying forward in our time of the ideals that he and his words inspired. (Walsh, 2013) In conclusion,
we take a basic movie about revenge and pull back to reveal a great historical piece about change in
America. We see how immigration affects culture by introducing new a group into an environment
and how people adapt to change in varying ways. Also we see how material possessions have a huge
impact on the different social classes. The saying to the victors go the spoils holds true in all eras.
Finally, we see how politics and popular culture play

The Past, Present and Future of Computer Hacking
The Past, Present and Future of Computer Hacking Abstract Society relies heavily on technology for
many things, but our use of technology opens us up to become victims of cybercrimes, like computer
hacking. Hackers can be divided into three main categories: novice, intermediate, and elite. Hacking
has been in the information technology (IT) field for a while. The first hackers appeared in the
nineteen sixties and hackers have continued to make progress since then. People hack for a variety of
reasons including ego, fun, knowledge, and profit. The first major hacking program, SATAN, caused
controversy in 1995, and numerous hacking programs exist today. The future of hacking looks bright
because people will only continue to rely even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Originally the term hack was used to describe what club members did to electric tracks and switches
to make them run quicker or better (Lilley 2002, 16). In 1978 Randy Suess and Ward Christiansen
created the first online bulletin board system where hackers could exchange tips, information, and
stolen passwords and credit card numbers. There are currently over 40,000 bulletins worldwide (Lilley
2002, 16). The United States Congress passed the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act in 1986. The Act
recognized the unauthorized access of federal interest computer with the intention to commit
fraudulent theft and the altering of information to inflict malicious damage as felony offences (Lilley
2002, 16). During the Gulf War two teenaged Dutch hackers copied information from the Defense
Department systems. Although the US General Accounting Office said that the information was
unclassified, it was still sensitive and the teenagers tried to sell the information to the Iraqis. One
might ask what the reward is in hacking if any. Some hackers do what they do for knowledge and ego,
while others do it for fun and profit. Learning to crack the codes of different and more complex
websites provides hackers with more knowledge and tricks that can help them make names for
themselves as elite hackers in the hacking community. Many hackers pick large groups or government
entities for attacks aimed at making a big splash (Crume 2000, 29). The more high profile the

The Murders In The Rue Morgue By Aydelotte
Detective stories that have been published over the years all contain dramatic elements that the reader
has come to expect. These conventions that Aydelotte discussed in The Dectective Story as a
Historical Source are especially ever present in Edgar Allen Poe s The Murders in the Rue Morgue
and they shed light on the concerns of the people of the time.
Primarily, readers read detective stories because they expect a dramatic event to happen whether that
be criminal activity or more prominently, a murder. The audience of The Murders in the Rue Morgue
didn t have extremely eventful lives; it wasn t every day that a horrid murder would take place in the
real streets of Paris. They desperately craved excitement for their boring days and for that, they turned
to books: detective stories in particular. The horror of the actual act offered a form of excitement and
entertainment to the reader. The story allowed them to escape from their already routine life. Other
than that, the society in detective stories like The Murders in the Rue Morgue was outwardly perfect in
which the characters have very simple problems (Aydelotte, pg. 4). Everything in the society went
right, up until the point of the murder. The fact that a seemingly ideal world was interrupted by such a
gruesome event, offered the reader a reality check and made them aware of their anxiety of the evil
that exists in the world. For the audience of detective stories, The mess, confusion, and frustration of
life have

  • 5. Theogony And The Biblical Book Of Genesis, Hesiod And Genesis At first glance, the story of how it all began in Hesiod s Theogony, and in the Biblical book of Genesis reveals certain similarities that I picked up on. Hesiod and Genesis share the same order of events: mankind exists in alongside heavenly beings in utopia where there is just; a woman is introduced into this utopian world; the actions of the woman produces the loss of before said utopia. This pattern is used by both works of literature to better explain the presence of problems such as chaos and turmoil in human existence, and both Hesiod and Genesis credit the first woman with these problems. In a journal article Published by The Johns Hopkins University Press, the author declares that It is especially striking that the biblical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Genesis 3.16) But despite these similarities, Eve and Pandora are characteristically different. Unlike Pandora, Eve is not naturally evil. She was created from one of Adams ribs, making Eve of the same material and nature as her husband. Pandora, conversely, is basically different from man. I figured this because Hesiod does not give a significant story of how man came to be in these sections, but Pandora s attributes from the gods, including both her beauty and her deceitfulness, marks her as a separate individual. However, Eve is meant to be a companion for Adam, to say that Pandora was a gift is plainly ironic. This inconsistency is at the difference between the women. Pandora is a punishment for man. Theogony exposes this, by calling her evil for man or through the instance with the jar, which is an indicator of her deceitful nature. Neither work specifies if Pandora actually undergoes suffering alongside man. Eve, however, is a victim of her actions as much as Adam is, and these two suffer together, if not wholly in the same way. Despite their inherent differences, I do believe they are similar in how they are portrayed as the less significant sex. Despite Eve being created from Adam, she was not created of an entirely new framework such as Adam, as if she was not important enough to do so. Both Pandora and Eve were created secondly both ... • 6. The Lack Of Responsibility Of The Teacher s Union The argument of the consistency of our education system has been going on for few decades. We all agree on the base that the school system has been broken. There have been solutions proposed, such as George W. Bush reform act No Child Left Behind, but we hadn t seen a drastic change in the system. The biggest question that is raised is that what changes, as flawed as the system looks, should be implemented to the system to benefit and excel each and every student in our nation. Is the problem from the lack of responsibility of the teacher s union as Waiting for Superman argued or is there more to it? Though it might look convincing to criticize factors such as the national teachers union for how deprived our education system is, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In reality, charter schools only take away funding from the public schools whom already lack funding. Though Waiting for Superman outline the issue of why public schools failing as a minor importance and simple to solve, the problem is immense and pleads for a change. Lack of funding being the main issue, it is in a chain connection with overcrowded schools and thus leading to students not getting the proper aid to surpass their grade level. Low funded school means that teachers will get laid off, which will increase class size, increase the burden on the teacher, and after school programs will be minimized. If the class is overcrowded a teacher wouldn t be able to teach students according to curriculum. This means that teachers are only going to teach and not be able to help other students because of the time and funding constraint. According to (U.S. Department of Education, 2011) more than 40% of Low Income Schools don t get a fair share of state and local funds. This is mostly seen in areas that are overpopulated. Based on the Congressional Budget Office s projection made on 2012, funding would be cut by $1.1 billion, cutting off funding to more than 4,000 schools serving an estimated 1.8 million disadvantaged students. The jobs of more than 15,000 teachers and aides would be at risk. Students would lose access to individual instruction, afterschool programs, and other interventions that help close achievement gaps (U.S. Department of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Analysis Of Selling Of A Serial Killer Selling of a Serial Killer directed by Nick Bloomfield was a compelling documentary that followed the trial of Aileen Wuornos, America s first female serial killer who had killed seven men along a highway between 1989 and 1990. The film opens with newscasts covering the subject to show the severity of the matter, that serial killing were more common in the later portion of the nineties (Selling of a Serial Killer). Aileen s full confession for the murder of Richard Mullary is introduced to the audience within the first five minutes. Her confession is one of self defense insisting that she was continuing abused by her clients during the course of her career as an escort and prostitute. This is used as a technique to insight pity and sympathy. Bloomfield takes great interest into her lawyer Steve Grazer, asking about his multiple professions, including being an agent for Aileens adoptive mother, Arlene Pralle in addition to pressing Bloomfield for money supposedly requested by Aileen for an interview (Selling of a Serial Killer). The great interest in Steve Grazer is a tacktick to insight suspicion into Steve, who is portrayed as a controversial quirky character, with every little law experience. As well as portraying Arlene as less of a mother figure, and more as a person willing to exploit Aileen for her personal gain, shown by the multiple conflicts in the film (Selling of a Serial Killer). Apart from this issue, the Kaufmann s requirements needed to be achieved due to the fact that they had planned to have large numbers of people over and therefore it was required that the house be larger than the available plot size. In addition, Mr. and Mrs. Kaufmann had asked to have separate bedrooms including another for their oldest son and a supplementary room for guests. • 19. Three Years She Gew Research Paper The English Romantic Age, which lasted from the late 18th century to the middle of the 19th century, was born of the ideas of William Wordsworth, British poet and author. Many critics of this era believe that Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge s co publication of a collection of poems called Lyrical Ballads initiated Romanticism, which featured themes of nature, individualism and emotion. Wordsworth s works are representative of this era; they include ideas about personal experience and emotion, as well as the influence of nature on man. He also used and advocated simple language that any reader could comprehend. This radical form of literature influenced other poets to write in a similar manner, creating a movement that forever changed poetry. Wordsworth s ideas that prompted the Romantic Period were due to his upbringing and experiences as a student. Born in the spring of 1770, Wordsworth grew up with four siblings in England along the Derwent River, exposing him early on to nature s beauty. He drew inspiration for his autobiographical poem, The Prelude, from his schooling at Cockermouth, as well as from his education in Hawkshead, where he and his brother attended school. Jesus Christ ( Christology ) Jesus Christ (Christology) I believe Jesus is fully God and fully man (Phil 2:6 11), one person with two natures, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:34 38), accredited by God through miracles, wonders and signs which God did through Him, died on the cross to justify all sinners who believe in Him from God s wrath (1 Pet 3:18; Rom 5:9), arose from the dead (Acts 2:23 24) and is now at the right hand of God the Father (Heb 8:1), and will come again to establish His kingdom (Matt 26:64). The conception by the Holy Spirit instead of by the line of descent from Adam, and the virgin birth by Mary together show that the unity of fully divine and fully human in one person of Jesus and the source of salvation from the Holy God instead of from human including Mary (Gen. 3:15; Luke 1:35) Jesus is one person (hypostatic union and not Nestorianism for two persons) with two distinct wills (centers of consciousness) belong to the two preserved natures (Mark 13:32; John 2:25, 16:30, 21:17, not Apollinarianism for one divine nature nor Eutychianism for one mixed new nature) The Lord Jesus preexists with God, was God and is God (John 1:1). He, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God but made himself a man (Phil 2:6 8) without losing any of His divine attributes (Col 1:19, 2:9). Complaints of slow wait times during periods of heavy traffic and the ability to manage the labor force have recently sparked an interest of Airports switching their security to a privatized company. Not only is there a mass influx due to the Irish trying to better themselves but also President Lincoln has freed the slaves and black people can no longer be considered property. The link between military service and full citizenship and inclusion is one that has had powerful resonance in our own time. The end of Don t ask, Don t Tell and the full participation of gays and lesbians in our armed forces represent, as Lincoln described the Emancipation Proclamation itself, a profound act of justice, a carrying forward in our time of the ideals that he and his words inspired. The Past, Present and Future of Computer Hacking The Past, Present and Future of Computer Hacking Abstract Society relies heavily on technology for many things, but our use of technology opens us up to become victims of cybercrimes, like computer hacking. Hackers can be divided into three main categories: novice, intermediate, and elite. Hacking has been in the information technology (IT) field for a while. The first hackers appeared in the nineteen sixties and hackers have continued to make progress since then. People hack for a variety of reasons including ego, fun, knowledge, and profit. In 1978 Randy Suess and Ward Christiansen created the first online bulletin board system where hackers could exchange tips, information, and stolen passwords and credit card numbers. There are currently over 40,000 bulletins worldwide (Lilley 2002, 16). The United States Congress passed the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act in 1986. The Act recognized the unauthorized access of federal interest computer with the intention to commit fraudulent theft and the altering of information to inflict malicious damage as felony offences (Lilley 2002, 16). During the Gulf War two teenaged Dutch hackers copied information from the Defense Department systems. Although the US General Accounting Office said that the information was unclassified, it was still sensitive and the teenagers tried to sell the information to the Iraqis. One might ask what the reward is in hacking if any. Some hackers do what they do for knowledge and ego, while others do it for fun and profit. Learning to crack the codes of different and more complex websites provides hackers with more knowledge and tricks that can help them make names for themselves as elite hackers in the hacking community. • 37. The Murders In The Rue Morgue By Aydelotte Detective stories that have been published over the years all contain dramatic elements that the reader has come to expect. These conventions that Aydelotte discussed in The Dectective Story as a Historical Source are especially ever present in Edgar Allen Poe s The Murders in the Rue Morgue and they shed light on the concerns of the people of the time. Primarily, readers read detective stories because they expect a dramatic event to happen whether that be criminal activity or more prominently, a murder. The audience of The Murders in the Rue Morgue didn t have extremely eventful lives; it wasn t every day that a horrid murder would take place in the real streets of Paris. They desperately craved excitement for their boring days and for that, they turned to books: detective stories in particular. The horror of the actual act offered a form of excitement and entertainment to the reader. The story allowed them to escape from their already routine life. Other than that, the society in detective stories like The Murders in the Rue Morgue was outwardly perfect in which the characters have very simple problems (Aydelotte, pg. 4). Everything in the society went right, up until the point of the murder. The fact that a seemingly ideal world was interrupted by such a gruesome event, offered the reader a reality check and made them aware of their anxiety of the evil that exists in the world.
