What is Omnichannel Retail? Past. Present. Future.Mihai Dragan
Omnichannel retail allows traditional retailers to connect their existing channels such as brick and mortar or call centers to digital channels - online store, mobile app, social shopping channels and others.
This presentation focuses on how this came to be, what are the bottlenecks in implementing omnichannel retail and why should retailers switch to this new approach.
Probably the most compelling reasons to adapt to omnichannel retailing are today's customer demands. The customer wants 24/7 service and the same experience on all sales channels, whether it is the offline store, the mobile app or the brick and mortar outlet.

With a population of over 8m, inflated daily by commuters and tourists, New York is characterised by people who are constantly moving, and eating on-the-go.
With it being one of my favourite cities to visit, I’ve selected some of the best grocery stores I’ve seen, taking in the broad spectrum of food and food-to-go offers that define grocery retailing in New York.
Incorporating established chains such as Whole Foods Market and Trader Joe’s, and New York staples such as Fairway Market and Balducci’s, this list also offers some surprises.
Take a walk to Wall Street and see an outstanding food-to-go offer at leading drugstore Duane Reade, or head to the Flatiron district and take in Eataly for a taste of Italy in New York.
What you will notice though as you walk from district-to-district is how the offer changes, with operators focused on well defined catchments, often measured in city blocks. This is neighborhood retailing at its best!
A retail outlet or store is a retail sales establishment which has a genuine retail activity and which therefore has a sales area. This therefore excludes ancillary establishments such as warehouses or the offices of commercial enterprises without their own turnover..

It defines the way of representing products on displays and shelves, the store layout, and even igniting the senses, which all contribute to offering a shopper experience while visiting your store. People still prefer in-store experiences because they want to interact with the items before purchasing them.
