Apush Chapter 23 Summary
Chapter 23 The Bloody Shirt Elects Grant The Republicans nominated General Grant for the
presidency in 1868. The Republican Party supported the continuation of the Reconstruction of the
South, while Grant stood on the platform of just having peace. The Democrats nominated Horatio
Seymour. Grant won the election of 1868. The Era of Good Stealings Jim Fisk and Jay Gould devised
a plot to drastically raise the price of the gold market in 1869. On Black Friday, September 24, 1869,
the two bought a large amount of gold, planning to sell it for a profit. In order to lower the high price
of gold, the Treasury was forced to sell gold from its reserves. Boss Tweed employed bribery, graft,
and fraudulent elections to milk New York of as much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also opposed the government imposing a single moral standard on the entire society. Democrats
were found in the South and in the northern industrial cities. A Stalwart faction led by Roscoe
Conkling supported the system of swapping civil servant jobs for votes. (Giving someone a job if they
vote for a specific party/cause. Spoils system ) Opposed to the Stalwarts were the Half Breeds, led by
James G. Blaine. The main disagreement between the two groups was over who would give the jobs to
the people who voted in their favor. The Hayes Tilden Standoff, 1876 Congress passed a resolution
that reminded the country, and Grant, of the two term tradition for presidency after Grant was
speculating about running for a 3rd term. The Republicans chose Rutherford B. Hayes as their
presidential candidate for the election of 1876. The Democrats chose Samuel J. Tilden. In the election,
Tilden won the popular vote, but was 1 vote shy from winning in the Electoral College. The
determining electoral votes would come from three states, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Florida who
had each sent two sets of ballots to Congress, one with the Democrats victorious and the other with the
Republicans victorious; there was no winner in these states. It was necessary to find the true political
party winner of the states, although it was unknown who would judge the winner of the states because

In the question of whether or not globalization presents a new field of oppertunity, I would like to start
of with looking at a text I looked at earlier in this essay called A place of one s own: schooling and the
formation of indentities in Modern Nepal by Stephen Carney Ulla Ambrosius Madsen, together with
the text Consumer Culture and Identities in Kathmandu: Playing with Your Brain by Mark Liechty
The first text, presents the oppertunity of breaking out of historically constructed social classes, the
individuals placement in the family and indentity development, through education and activities at
school in modern Nepal.
I believe that globalization plays a significant role in education because it creates new oppertunities

This here is the picture of the wonderful oppertunity that globalization and awareness gives to society,
but there are of course many other ways to look at globalization in the modern world.
I would like to also mention the text A Life of One s Own in a Runaway World by Beck, that focus on
individuals need for freedom, and the dream of being the boss of your own life. I believe that some
would argue, that this new focus on the individual in the western world and less on the development of
society, can have a downside for the part of the world who does not have the means to do the same.
This here would present a picture on how globalization only offers a new field of oppertunity for the
people who have the means to take control of their own lives and only focus on their own individual.
I would argue that depending on which side, because there are many, of globalization you look at, you
can find either a field of oppertunity or a new way to structure old inequalities. Hopefully the closer
we move to a more globalized world, we will experience individuals and society in closer relation to
eachother, and globalization would then be catagorized as a field of oppertunity.

Why Student Loan Is The Cost Of Refinancing
Looking to refinance your student loans? Millions of college graduates around the country stayed with
student loans that had annual percentage rates that were too high. When they signed up for these loans,
they weren t worried about paying them off because graduation seemed so far away. Now the time has
finally come to start repayment. Fortunately there are few good ways to ease the sting of paying back
your student loans. What we are looking for when refinancing student loan is a lower APR, or annual
percentage rate. The APR is a percentage of the total amount of money you borrowed that diminishes
as payments are made towards the loan. Another very important thing you must consider when
refinancing your loans is the cost of refinancing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With good choices, student loan refinance can save you a lot of money.
From the time students found that getting loans to complete their education was easy, more and more
students opted to continue their education. Previously there were many people who could not
complete their education because of the lack of fund. But this is not the case these days. However,
once these students get the degree, they leave college with piles of student loans also. There are many
federal and non federal student loans consolidation programs that help them ease and simplify their
repayment plan. Some think that simply by considering the lowest rate of interest they are done and
they will be able to save lot of money. This is not true. Before selecting the student loan consolidation
company, it is good to consider some essential factors. You have to see that all the terms are beneficial
for you and that too in the long run. Avoid looking for short term benefits unless you are in deep and
severe financial crisis. See that there are no charges and penalties for repaying your installments in
advance. Even if you do not have the job right now, consider these points. This is important because in
near future you are going to get the job and then you will prefer paying off all your loans as fast as
possible. When considering non

Song Analysis of Hands Down by Dashboard Confessional Essay
Hands Down
By: Dashboard Confessional
Song Analysis
Everyone has that one song they can listen to over and over again. There are various reasons people
press the repeat button, whether it be the sound of the singer s voice, the quality of their musicianship,
or their heartfelt lyrics and the story they tell. The song Hands Down , by Dashboard Confessional
tells the story of a day in the life of lead singer, Chris Carrabba, in high school. Carrabba has said that
this song is about the best day he has ever had, and introduces it as such at concerts. Dashboard
Confessional effectively uses paradox, irony, imagery, and repetition, to enable the listener to create a
visual and experience emotions felt by the writer. Hands ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The boy is hoping for something as simple as a kiss, and this simple action would please him so much
that it would kill him. The boy is willing to give up everything in order to experience this kiss and end
his life on a happy note.
Another literary device used in Hands Down is irony. During the middle of the song, this line sets the
mood for the story and the presumed expectations of a teenage relationship.
The words are hushed, let s not get busted.
Just lay entwined here, undiscovered,
Safe in here from all the stupid questions:
Hey did you get some?
Man, that is so dumb.
Stay quiet, stay near, stay close, they can t hear, so we can get some.
In most relationships sex is an essential and expected part, even for teenagers. Many teen relationships
are subjected to the scrutiny of their peers on whether or not they are getting some . This stanza is
ironic because in the beginning it says how dumb the questions about getting some are, yet at the end
it talks about doing just that. At the very end of the song, Dashboard uses imagery to describe the little
things that you will always remember, and the one special night that was meant to be ordinary, yet
turned out to be so incredibly wonderful.
Hands down, this is the best day I will ever remember.
I ll always remember the sound of the stereo,

The Study Of Patterns In Psychology
The participants in the sample of this study were 64 young (18 38; 41 female), right hand native
speakers of German. The study s design was observing and comparing brain activity patterns during
study of visually presented words to examine remembering and forgetting in a later oral free recall
task, while manipulating deep versus shallow processing during the presentation of stimuli. Deep
encoding was operationalized by fMRI increased activity in the left hippocampus, eliciting functional
connectivity with larger scale semantic networks. Shallow encoding was operationalized by increased
activity in the same brain areas as deep encoding (although weaker) in addition to qualitatively distinct
connectivity changes. Procedures for the study ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In both study conditions, successful encoding was associated with significant activations in the
bilateral hippocampus in addition to the dorsolateral and ventrolateral prefrontal cortex. These
activations were more pronounced during deep processing verses shallow processing. The results of
this study is consistent with recent research by showing that successful encoding for later episodic
memory is associated with increased neural connectivity, which is the precondition during successful
retrieval. Memory traces reside in neocortical areas, coordinated by the hippocampus. This hippo
campal cortical connectivity increases during successful encoding and we can see that this was more
pronounced during successful deep level encoding, which means deep level encoding leaves behind
more distinctive and retrievable memory traces. I think this study has good construct validity. Depth of
processing (deep level and shallow level) was measured by the hypothesized activated brain regions
during the successful deep and shallow encoding of verbal information, which was consistent with
previous literature on brain scans in levels of processing and successful memory formation. This study
would not be very high on external validity. The subjects in this

Essay On Disney Princess Streak
The Disney Princess streak was created in 2001 as publicity and advertising campaign directed toward
girls (Orenstein 2006). The first of the Disney Princess movies was released in 1937, A very popular
marketing franchise has strengthened the popularity of the Disney Princess line (Disney Princess
2010). The marketing campaign wants to attract girls with the ultimate goal of encouraging children to
personally identify with the characters so they will buy the related items (Do Rozario 2004). Disney
and its princess phenomena have been distinguished as a capable impact on kids media and item
consumerism, adding to another girlhood that is to a great extent characterized by sexual orientation,
gender and the utiltization of related items and messages (Giroux 1997; Lacroix 2004; McRobbie

Male Dominance over Female characters in John Harwood s novel, The Asylum
Today s society perceives women to be stronger and dominant individuals in comparison to men,
although, in reality, there are numerous circumstances in which men exhibit more power and control
over the important decisions in women s lives. In his novel, The Asylum, John Harwood portrays the
ways in which men exert power over women through the relationships between Rosina and her father
as well as Dr. Straker and Georgina. Through the characters of Rosina and Georgina, Harwood depicts
that women face many insecurities which ultimately causes the relationships ... Show more content on

Rather than admitting her true feelings, Rosina gives her consent for the alliance in order to please her
father due to her fear of him, exemplifying that her diffident personality in the novel leads to the
tenuous bonds between them both. Furthermore, Rosina s father s obedience leads him to become very
stern towards Rosina s freedom as Your [Rosina s] duty is to obey me, and you will learn to like him
[Mr. Bradstone] because I wish it... Until then, as I say, you are to remain outdoors: I have given
orders to ensure that you do. Disobey me in this, and you will be confined to your room (135 136).
Thomas s ascendancy over his daughter s decisions is evident as he is very strict and intimidating,
Rosina must obey commands in order to live with him or else there are bound to be dire consequences.
Instead of fighting for her rights and freedom, Rosina feebly agrees to her father s instructions, thus
reinforcing the one sided relationship between both father and daughter.
Moving on, Georgina and Dr. Straker s bond also begins to diminish as Dr. Straker s dominance over
Georgina s confinement at Tregannon Asylum eventually leads to the loss of control over her
decisions. First and foremost, at the asylum, Georgina wakes up to find her

Peter Pan Comparison
To begin with, it was researched that although the Peter Pan fairytale and the Disney movie had the
same idea and theme, they were very much different. This Compare and Contrast essay states the
differences and similarities of both. Including; Settings, clothes, origins and the modifications Disney
made to the original tale.
The fairytale was originally based upon Sir James M. Barrie s 1904 play about the boy who refuses to
grow up, the film begins in the London nursery of Wendy, John, and Michael Darling, where three
children are visited by Peter Pan. With the help of his tiny friend, Tinkerbell, Peter takes the three
children on a magical flight to Never Land. This enchanted island is home to Peter, Tink, the Lost
Boys, Tiger Lily and her Native American nation, and the scheming Captain Hook who is as intent on
defeating Peter Pan as he is from escaping the tick tocking crocodile that once ate a hand of his that
Peter Pan cut off and loved the taste of so much.
Clothes wise, the fairytale s wardrobe is very different to Disneys film. In the original tale, Barrie
never described Peter s appearance in detail, even in the novel Peter and Wendy , leaving much of it to
the imagination of the reader and the interpretation of anyone adapting the character. In the play, Peter
s outfit is made of autumn leaves and cobwebs. And in the movie, ... Show more content on

Canada as an Ethical and Egalitarian Model for the United...
Introduction
Universal healthcare should be available to everyone in the United States, and the best system would
be a Canadian style, single payer form of national health insurance rather than Obama Care or reliance
on private health insurance. Health care is a basic human right, and from an ethical viewpoint, the
system in the United States is the most unjust and unequal in the Western world and paradoxically the
most expensive as well. Although national health insurance was first proposed as early as 1912, and
again during the New Deal and Fair Deal in the 1930s and 1940s, it has always been blocked by
powerful corporate interests that have far too much influence on politics and public opinion. Even
worse, the injustice of the present system is borne most heavily by the poor, working class, and
members of minority groups who lack health care coverage at work and cannot afford private
insurance. North of the border, Canada has a far better model for health care and one that most U.S.
reformers have demanded since the 1940s. Medicare has been a very popular public service in Canada
since it was first passed in 1966, and provides universal health care paid for out of general tax
revenue. In the U.S., Medicare covers only those over age 65, but it should be modified into a
Medicare for all system, especially if the Supreme Court overturns Obama Care this year.

In Canada medical and hospital services are

Nicole s First Signs Of Ectopic Pregnancy
According to the American Pregnancy Association, an ectopic pregnancy is a serious pregnancy
complication in which a fertilized egg secures itself to an area outside of the uterus. This is typically in
an area that is not meant for a developing embryo, such as the fallopian tubes. In the initial case study
presentation, the patient, Nicole, was experiencing symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy. Nicole s first
signs of an ectopic pregnancy were that she felt very nauseous, was dizzy, and began to vomit. Within
the next few days, Nicole began to feel abdominal pain in the muscles, the nausea resumed, and traces
of blood were found in her urine. According to the Mayo Clinic, some signs of an ectopic pregnancy
are nausea, vaginal bleeding, and abdominal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main symptoms that occurred in the initial case study for us to distinguish this as an ectopic
pregnancy was the nausea, traces of blood in the urine, and the abdominal pelvic pain. Abdominal
pelvic pain occurs in ectopic pregnancy because the zygote falls into the fallopian tube instead of
implanting itself into the uterus. The patient then took a physical exam in which some irregular results
were found. The patient had sharp pains running through the abdomen and swelling of the lower right
quadrant. These symptoms correlate with an ectopic pregnancy in that the fertilized egg could be
implanted in the abdominal area. Also, in the physical exam, endometrial bleeding was discovered
which is typically found early on in a pregnancy. Lastly, the physical exam showed that there were
enlarged nodes in the submandibular, axillary, and inguinal regions. These irregular results lead us to
believe that there is an abnormality in the pregnancy. In the blood chemistry panel, two results were
found to be extremely higher than the reference range. They were estradiol and progesterone.
According to the Walk In Lab, estradiol is only seen in the blood in large amounts during pregnancy.
When estradiol levels are high and continually increase in steady amounts, this indicates that there is a
pregnancy. Progesterone is used to detect if there is either infertility or a failing

Abstract
In the last three decades, pulsed high voltage discharge technology has offered promising techniques
for the treatment of wastewaters released to the environment by industry. A significant effort has been
directed towards understanding the processes that occur during the discharge of solutions for a variety
of reactor configurations. This review presents the disadvantages and advantages of different reactors
based on discharge phase. Detailed information is also provided on the principals used in each
technique and the advantages and disadvantages associated with each method. Finally, a discussion on

Emotional recognition can be found in prosody which has been heavily research with elderly DAT
individual and non DAT individuals. Where the combination of facial expression and prosody are used
to gauge their emotional recognition. (Drapeau et al., 2009) However little to no studies have been
conducted with only auditory prosody between the age groups of adolescents and adults. Music is
another variable that can be used to asses emotional recognition and a lot of the research is centered
on DAT and Alzheimer s with some centered around ages differences. An experiment conducted by
Terwogt Van Grinsven (1988) looked at music clips and the emotional response in children 5 to 6
years old, and 9 to 11 years old and an adults with no specific age range. There results where

to the conclusion that adults could like more and more musical elements that convey and support a
certain emotion. Over the adolescents who could only mimic what music they heard by humming or

Pheromone Paper
A pheromone is defined as a substance that causes a response in a natural behavioral response in
another animal of the same species. There are an abundant amount of pheromones presently. For
instance the alarm pheromones sex pheromones, food trail pheromones, and many others that affect
behavior. Pheromonal use among insects has been well documented, even though many plants and
vertebrates communicate using pheromones.
Pheromones are believed to be found throughout the world and have been traced back to the most
ancient form of animal communication. For example the word pheromones originated from the
Roman culture because it was believed soldiers had this intoxicating scent that attracted women. Yet in
fact it was the heavy musky smell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Scientific studies have now shown that women are equally affected by pheromones from both sexes.
Women who usually experience short or long menstrual cycles get somewhat closer cycles after
regularly inhaling male essence which has been described as a certain amount of body odor, sweat,
and hormones. Females who have been exposed to other female pheromones for certain durations of
time whether it is months or years tend to have experienced relatively insync menstruated cycles after
few months. This study has confirmed a long disputed theory that females no matter what race or
relation menstruate at coinciding times. Over the last couple of decades pheromones have been
documented in over hundreds if not thousands of types of animals and insects. Yet, in most cases
particularly mammals there is an organ specialized in detection located in the inner parts of the nose or
inside the oral cavity. This organ is sometimes called the vomeronasal organ or when used around
scientists the VNO organ. There has been an abundance of evidence that say that human pheromones
really do exist. For example a newborn would preferably want a piece of clothing worn by its parents
or more so the mother because the pheromones of the mother is what the baby has known since the
beginning of its life. New experimental research suggests that both human

Employees Are The Most Important Factor Of Production
Employees are indeed a crucial part of any organization and are often referred to by economists as the
most important factor of production. For many years, employers have been faced with the issue of
retention and are fairly cautious when it comes to managing and retaining their workforce. Included in
this is having the best possible employees or talent on your team working efficiently to ensure the
business is stable and successful. As it is said an organization can only be as successful as the people
working with them . Ensuring you have the proper team is crucial but if there is any downfall to an
individual employee this can slow production or lower morale amongst your employees. There are
three different broad groups employees can be categorized within depending on their contribution
within the organization. These three broad groups are the engaged employees, the non engaged
employees, and also the actively disengaged employees. Engaged employees are the desirables for any
organization as these employees are self motivated and want better for the organization and take pride
and passion into their work. They often put their best foot forward and want to move the organization
in the right direction. Non engaged employees are those employees who are disconnected from their
employers who tend to just do the bare minimum and have minimal pride in their work. These can be
identified as those employees who simply show up to get a check and leave. The final group, actively

Marbury V. Madison
Marbury v. Madison On February 24, 1803 Chief Justice John Marshall and the rest of the Supreme
Court decided on the seemingly insignificant case of Marbury v. Madison. While ruling the Judiciary
Act of 1789 unconstitutional, Judicial Review was established. Granting the Supreme Court the power
to rule acts of the Legislative and/or Executive Branch of government unconstitutional, hence serving
as a landmark case that further legitimatized the Judicial Branch as a separate, but balanced branch of
government. Marbury v. Madison has been used as a very important precedent throughout our history

William Marbury has a right to the commission. Next, since the answer is yes, does the United States
grant Marbury a remedy? Yes, William Marbury was rightfully commissioned to justice of the peace,
but his commission was not sent. Marbury s rights were violated so by law the United States must
grant Marbury a remedy. Thirdly, does the Supreme Court have the power to deem acts of Congress
unconstitutional? In the words of John Marshall, It is emphatically the province and duty of the
Judicial Department to say what the law is. Yes, it is the duty of the Supreme Court to determine
whether a law or action from both the Executive and Legislative Branch is deemed unconstitutional.
The next question dealing with the Judiciary Act of 1789, which was used by Marbury to petition the
Supreme Court with a Writ of Mandamus , Can Congress expand the scope of the Supreme Courts
original jurisdiction as specified under Article III of the U.S. Constitution? No, according to Chief
Justice John Marshall, Congress cannot grant the Supreme Court power. The Judiciary Act of 1789 is
deemed unconstitutional. Nowhere on the Constitution does is state that the Supreme Court has the
power to force Madison to commission Marbury. Lastly, Does the Supreme Court have original

The Sunni Shia Conflict Essay
Sunni Shia Conflict Syria is currently all over the news regarding what many have to come to see as a
civil war. A term like civil war needs to identify the players and the reasons for the war. In this case
the players are being identified as pro government or antigovernment with a Sunni or Shia overtone.
Sunni and Shia are the two major sects of Islam and both have a historical based conflict going back to
the death of the Prophet Muhammad and how Muslims should be governed. This conflict has caused
tensions and violence to flare up throughout Islamic history. This conflict has carried into modern
times and has becoming a rallying point for Muslim people calling for change with their government

Ali s son Husayn was sought out and asked to lead a revolt against the Uyammad s. When Husayn set
out on his journey to overthrow Yazid, the current caliph, his supporters failed to join his band.
Husayn and 72 of his followers were killed on the plains of Karbala, Iraq. Thus the Shi at Ali (Party of
Ali) or Shia sect of Islam was born (Egger 2004). The Sunni sect would continue to support what they
saw as the traditional path of Islam. From this initial split other divisions and changes occurred within
the religious practices and laws of Islam. While both share a belief in the Qur an and the sunna

the Shia definition the divinely guided ones but the Sunni defines Imaans as saints (Diffen n.d.). The
Shia declared Ali and his descendants Imams with a special connection to the will of God with
religious and legal authorities. The number of Imams and who were truly the divinely guided Imams
would split Shias. There arose many branches but it came down to three main ones the Twelvers, the
Seveners, and Zayids (Goldschmidt Jr. 2013). The Imams were mystical beings and the Twelvers

The Iliad: Greeks and Their Love for War
It has long been a popular scholarly opinion that the Greeks in the Iliad were lovers of war and
violence. The Greeks were most definitely primal beasts, and blood shedders, a fact made abundantly
clear in the Iliad. However, I think that the Greeks were not lovers of war, furthermore I think this
interpretation is shortsighted. The amount of violence in the Iliad seems to be evidence for their love
of war, but the ancient world was primal and passionate, and these ancient beasts were not strangers to
bloodshed and violence. Thus, I think the amount of violence in the Iliad does not perpetuate the
Greeks love for war, but rather shows their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When a Greek hero kills a Trojan commander or hero, the Greeks rejoice because there was immediate
honor granted to the killer. He has done well for his name and his people, which is why the kill is
celebrated. If the Hero had slain a goat, the Greeks would not have rejoiced (unless they were
particularly famished that day), because the Greeks do not celebrate bloodshed for the sake of red,
they celebrate honor and immortality granted to those who exhibit greatness. This is also why I think
Homer and other story telling decedents choose to remember those that are bastards and those that are
highborn. A bastard being less honorable than a noble highborn man, and than those born from human
woman and a god for a father. I cannot accept that through millennia of retellings of the Iliad, such a
seemingly minuscule detail such as bastard would be kept without reason. The description bastard
appears many times during the bloodshed of the Iliad. In Book IV, As the javelin homed in on
Democoön, Pram s bastard son from his horse farm in Abydos (Homer, Iliad 4), it is again mentioned
the honor associated with the kill, a bastard boy, rather than a hero. Then, Meges kills Pedaeus in
Book V, Homer makes sure to detail Though he was a bastard... . Bastard was more clearly described
as being lesser and almost dishonorable in Book VII, when King Agamemnon addressed Teucer,
bastard of Telamon, ...and you will save the day for the Greeks, ... though you were a bastard.

Ancoats: the memory traces of an abandoned set of futures
Castlefield: reborn as restored memorials to past industrial prowess
Urban history, as a tool, has drastically changed our understanding of cities over the centuries. Urban
histories possessed an explanatory power far above the intricate workings of one city; providing larger
narratives centered on industrialization or other macro economic developments .
Throughout the past 250 years, the world has seen drastic technological advances, the pivotal point in
the history and growth of the world being the Industrial Revolution. Yet rarely does the average person
realise the impacts of the Industrial Revolution on civilisation.
Cities stand at the center of major civilizations, and their organization and structure compose a vital
part of human history (quote by). Ancoats and Castlefield were vital in the Industrial Revolution, not
just for Manchester, but also for the rest of the world.
Both were formed through social, political and economic events. Their urban history allows us to pin
point the driving forces that made the two areas so important. Cities across generations have left
indelible marks on the physical landscape and by their very centralizing nature played essential roles
in the organization of major civilizations, Today, Ancoats and Castlefield are each undergoing a

Theory of Evolution Essay
Man could not evolve to any other state, because he was made in the ultimate state. He was made in
the image and likeness of the Father so there was no need for evolution; hence, there was no sign of
evolution from the beginning. Since sin came into the world, man has been deceived into thinking
there is evolution. We are not talking about the theory of evolution that says man started from an
amoeba or as an ape and eventually began to walk upright; not that evolution, but evolution in the
sense of development. There are developments in the earth and therefore it can be considered as a
form of evolution, but truly would it be classified as evolving, because man has not gotten better?

taught us that. Uncles and aunts, and teachers told you that you need to be independent. They were
teaching you to rebel; that is what was being taught to you. Teaching you to rebel, honing that spirit in
you to rebel.
Get your own. This breeds selfishness. It is about mine, myself, me and I. God was never about me,
myself, and I; that is why He made man in His image and likeness, because God is about equality. He
is about equality, not about better than or less than. Independence was not evident in the beginning,
neither was evolution. If evolution was evident in the beginning then this would suggest that man
could be better than God, which would mean then that the man that God made was never very good,
he had flaws. God neither creates anything flawed, because he was made in His image and likeness,
and that would mean that God would have flaws, and we know God neither has flaws.
From the time of beginning there was no de evolution. The de evolution state would be that of back
sliding and some years ago in our teaching I showed you that Adam never backslide though he
disobeyed and sinned. He was never a backslider. Neither did Satan backslide, because there was
nothing to backslide to. That is why the Bible said that Satan is the father of lies, which means he is

Hepatitis C Virus ( Hcv )
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a small (~55 to 65 nm), spherical enveloped virus that can cause major
illness. Hepatitis C was discovered after the intense investigations between 1982 and 1988 in Chiron
corporation. Michael Houghton discovered the non A and non B hepatitis by using the molecular
approach. Hepatitis C affects liver caused by the hepatitis virus; the virus can cause acute and chronic
hepatitis infection ranging from a mild illness to severity, lifelong illness. Mostly patients are affected
with acute infection; however, chronic hepatitis is caused by liver cirrhosis a severe scarring which
can lead to liver failure. HCV affects more than 185 million people worldwide. The rate of chronic
hepatitis is affected by race, gender, and viral immune response. Depending on the certain region,
hepatitis C infections can be concentrated in certain populations or in general populations. The HCV
have high genetic diversity which is characterized by regional variation which makes treating the
infection more challenging. Hepatitis patients are often prescribed ribavirin and interferon; but current
research is developing new therapeutic drugs which will be less toxic and can be targeted to each
genotype. This review will provide the historical, and scientific aspects of hepatitis C virus.

Baseball Ball Monologue
It is a cold grey afternoon with a dull sky and ragged clouds. The last leaf on the tree was finally
blown off by the wind, the leaves crunched beneath your feet as you walk on it. The awful smell of
dried leaves filled the air and out in the distance, the leafless tree s branches wobbled around as the
wind pushed and blow them around. The dark clouds look furious but me and my younger brother,
Allie are happy as hell. We just got a new baseball ball gifted from my older brother, D.B. We start
enjoying and playing some baseball throws. As I take a step and throw the ball, the scarlet and gold
leaves get crunched. The wide ground is lit by some rays, shining through a thin layer of grey cloud

slowly on his body. Frozen in panic and shrill scream in my brain as I hold Allie s body, as he lay
breathless and still. Gasps, murmurs from the crowd, breaks my panic. Then medics plough through
the crowd and with precision put Allie on oxygen and wheel his motionless body away. It feels as

What Sets The Successful Companies Apart From The...
PEWAUKEE SCHOOL DISTRICT (PSD). Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Recipient 2013
(Education Category) 1. What sets the successful companies apart from the unsuccessful companies?
Answer: Three main characteristics of the winner have succeeded as a successful company they are: i.
They mainly concentrate on value rather putting their thoughts on long term goals, that means they
always concentrate in reduction of the costs in a strategic context and with a reasonable spotlight on
their core. ii. They misuse opportunities one of a kind to the downturn, which can mean anything from
utilizing misfortune to increase new clients to squeezing forward with advancement. iii. They act
quickly, with a spryness that allows them to keep pace with, or development of, speedy changes in the
business environment. Successful companies always put their eye on the growth of the organization
and they will try to keep the customers as they don t need to lose their valuable customers. So they
will move on from their comfort zones and thrive hard towards their growth in the competitive world.
They always show their commitment towards the innovation that helps in being a part of the
successful company. (Berman, 2009). 2. Are the successful companies more agile in the marketplace?
Answer: Yes, successful companies are agile in the markets because being agile is to making
themselves adaptable, managing, and trying to keep them up to the mark towards the customer s needs
and the technology.

Essay about Frankenstein
What qualifies a creature to be a monster? When the movie Frankenstein came out, monsters were
usually big and scary animals that terrified everyone that walked in their path. They were creatures
that generally behaved monstrously, doing things that were against society norms and had no
consideration for the safety of others. Perhaps looking beyond the physical appearance of a monster
and just looking at their actions one might see Dr. Frankenstein as a monster himself. Frankenstein
was a story about a man who created an individual which led his life to failure and death, because of
his desire to play which nature, and attempting the role of God.

He is therefore responsible for his creation and all of the actions that his monster commits.
In the long lived debate between nature verses nurture, Dr. Frankenstein s creation is a prime example
of nature. Frankenstein s greatest flaws in his attempt to create a being, is that he does not even
nurture his creation as a parent would for his own child. Frankenstein himself grew up in a loving
family who was still concerned about his actions till the end. Yet Frankenstein decides that he doesn t
like the monster after he had completed it. He rejects the monster, and in turn the monster rejects him.
Frankenstein sees the creature s physical appearance only, not attempting to look beyond his looks.
The monster is treated as though he is an animal and not a living human being, and because of this he
is shown no love or affection from his creator and society as a whole. Making the monster feel
isolated and hated, causing him to seek vengeance over his creator. The monster therefore becomes
Frankenstein s shadow. Initially, the monster was not filled with the hate and rage that he would
exhibit later in the movie. It was in many ways a helpless baby, only wanting someone to love him and
teach him. However, Victor Frankenstein was so afraid of him, as were the townspeople, that he did
not get this love or education. The monster was forced to defend himself from the start.
Dr. Frankenstein s creation was looked at by the village as a feared and hated

Since 1996, a number of symposia have been arranged by the Secretariat for NGOs on particular
issues of interest to civil society, namely, three on trade and the environment, one on trade and
development and one on trade facilitation. These symposia have provided, on a relaxed basis, the
opening for NGOs to discuss certain specific issues with representatives of WTO Member countries.
Day to day Contact
The WTO Secretariat receives a huge number of requests per day from NGOs, from all over the world
and Secretariat staff meets with NGOs on a habitual basis both individually and as a part of NGO

The annual report of the World Trade Organization corroborates the growing official relationship
between civil society and trade. Tucked away in a silent corner of the report is the reason that the
number of NGOs attending the WTO ministerial increased many times over, from 108 at the

The growth that occurred in the Seattle ministerial can be attributed to the mobilization of NGOs that

The Integration Of The European Process Of Integration
The next chapter represents an attempt to develop new understandings of the problems related to the
European process of integration. More specifically, the aim of this section is to outline the possible
mechanisms that, in being conducive of socialization, can push member states to work together and to
think in terms of common problems and common concerns .
It has been chosen to accomplish this task by dividing the chapter into three main parts. The first one
will present the possibility to identify the launch of non binding elements as valid strategies aimed at
driving the behavior of actors. Particularly, their ability to be perceived politically, socially and
morally binding will be discussed.
The second part will be focusing on the analysis of the European Open Method of Coordination that,
according to this research, represents a valid laboratory where mechanisms of social influence and
microprocesses of socialization can be observed. In addition, its application within the institutional
framework of the EU is considered to be a good illustration of possible solutions able to renovate and
possibly reinvent the European Union of tomorrow. In conclusion, the third part of the chapter has to
be conceived as an attempt to go a step further the simple observation of existent mechanisms
interacting between each other. In fact, it consists in the evaluation of the extent in which the behavior
of actors has been altered since the advance of soft EU stimuli. More

Mortgage Fraud And The Big Short By Starring Christian...
Mortgage fraud is one of the costliest, yet seldom prosecuted crimes in the criminal world. CoreLogic
estimates approximately $13 billion in fraud losses occurred in 2012, according to the latest available
data in the 2012 Mortgage Fraud Trends Report (Gerding, 2013). While these numbers may seem
high, the approximate $13 billion in losses is only a fraction of what it would be if every case were to
be prosecuted. Mortgage fraud was also a major contributing factor towards a national, and nearly
global economic collapse in 2008 when the United States economy saw the worst recession it has seen
since the great depression. Anyone that has seen the films 99 homes starring Andrew Garfield and
Michael Shannon or The Big Short starring Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling has seen a largely
realistic glimpse of mortgage fraud and how devastating it can be.
White collar crime: Mortgage fraud Traditionally, there are three types of mortgage fraud that are the
most common and well known. These three types are fraud for profit , fraud for housing and a third
type that deals with overestimating a property s value or submitting a false appraisal (Schmalleger,
2016). A relatively new fourth type of mortgage fraud that quickly escalated following the economic
crash of 2008 involves a series of scams claiming to save property owners from foreclosure.

Forbidden Lies By Norma Khouri
The history of publishing has been plagued with literary hoaxes from the somewhat harmless Ern
Malley hoax to the most recent Belle Gibson scandal. Unfortunately literary hoaxes will continue to
happen, unless publishers begin to fact check manuscripts before publication. Publishers claim they
are unable to do this due to the financial cost of the procedure and this is a believable claim. If you
spoke to an average person they would say that the print industry is dying, thanks to the rise of digital
technology, and there has been a downturn in profits.
However, regardless of whether the print industry actually is dying or not, a publisher is responsible,
both legally and ethically, for every manuscript they put onto our shelves. This essay argues that
publishers need to make fact checking part of the standard publishing procedure to uphold their legal
and ethical responsibilities to the public. Forbidden Lies by Norma Khouri will be used as a case study
throughout the essay. First, this essay will give a brief overview of the Norma Khouri hoax, then move
on to discuss why fact checking is not commonplace in the book publishing industry. Next, it will
assess where the legal and ethical responsibilities lie with the author or publisher. After this, it will
examine the financial repercussions and damage to a publisher s reputation after the publication of a
literary hoax. Then, it will begin to examine the ethical damage literary hoaxes cause to the readers

  • 2. Apush Chapter 23 Summary Chapter 23 The Bloody Shirt Elects Grant The Republicans nominated General Grant for the presidency in 1868. The Republican Party supported the continuation of the Reconstruction of the South, while Grant stood on the platform of just having peace. The Democrats nominated Horatio Seymour. Grant won the election of 1868. The Era of Good Stealings Jim Fisk and Jay Gould devised a plot to drastically raise the price of the gold market in 1869. On Black Friday, September 24, 1869, the two bought a large amount of gold, planning to sell it for a profit. In order to lower the high price of gold, the Treasury was forced to sell gold from its reserves. Boss Tweed employed bribery, graft, and fraudulent elections to milk New York of as much ... Democrats were found in the South and in the northern industrial cities. A Stalwart faction led by Roscoe Conkling supported the system of swapping civil servant jobs for votes. (Giving someone a job if they vote for a specific party/cause. Spoils system ) Opposed to the Stalwarts were the Half Breeds, led by James G. Blaine. The main disagreement between the two groups was over who would give the jobs to the people who voted in their favor. The Hayes Tilden Standoff, 1876 Congress passed a resolution that reminded the country, and Grant, of the two term tradition for presidency after Grant was speculating about running for a 3rd term. The Republicans chose Rutherford B. Hayes as their presidential candidate for the election of 1876. The Democrats chose Samuel J. Tilden. In the election, Tilden won the popular vote, but was 1 vote shy from winning in the Electoral College. The determining electoral votes would come from three states, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Florida who had each sent two sets of ballots to Congress, one with the Democrats victorious and the other with the Republicans victorious; there was no winner in these states. It was necessary to find the true political party winner of the states, although it was unknown who would judge the winner of the states because the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the question of whether or not globalization presents a new field of oppertunity, I would like to start of with looking at a text I looked at earlier in this essay called A place of one s own: schooling and the formation of indentities in Modern Nepal by Stephen Carney Ulla Ambrosius Madsen, together with the text Consumer Culture and Identities in Kathmandu: Playing with Your Brain by Mark Liechty The first text, presents the oppertunity of breaking out of historically constructed social classes, the individuals placement in the family and indentity development, through education and activities at school in modern Nepal. I believe that globalization plays a significant role in education because it creates new oppertunities for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This here is the picture of the wonderful oppertunity that globalization and awareness gives to society, but there are of course many other ways to look at globalization in the modern world. I would like to also mention the text A Life of One s Own in a Runaway World by Beck, that focus on individuals need for freedom, and the dream of being the boss of your own life. I believe that some would argue, that this new focus on the individual in the western world and less on the development of society, can have a downside for the part of the world who does not have the means to do the same. This here would present a picture on how globalization only offers a new field of oppertunity for the people who have the means to take control of their own lives and only focus on their own individual. I would argue that depending on which side, because there are many, of globalization you look at, you can find either a field of oppertunity or a new way to structure old inequalities. Hopefully the closer we move to a more globalized world, we will experience individuals and society in closer relation to eachother, and globalization would then be catagorized as a field of oppertunity. 8. • 4. Why Student Loan Is The Cost Of Refinancing Looking to refinance your student loans? Millions of college graduates around the country stayed with student loans that had annual percentage rates that were too high. When they signed up for these loans, they weren t worried about paying them off because graduation seemed so far away. Now the time has finally come to start repayment. Fortunately there are few good ways to ease the sting of paying back your student loans. What we are looking for when refinancing student loan is a lower APR, or annual percentage rate. The APR is a percentage of the total amount of money you borrowed that diminishes as payments are made towards the loan. Another very important thing you must consider when refinancing your loans is the cost of refinancing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With good choices, student loan refinance can save you a lot of money. From the time students found that getting loans to complete their education was easy, more and more students opted to continue their education. Previously there were many people who could not complete their education because of the lack of fund. But this is not the case these days. However, once these students get the degree, they leave college with piles of student loans also. There are many federal and non federal student loans consolidation programs that help them ease and simplify their repayment plan. Some think that simply by considering the lowest rate of interest they are done and they will be able to save lot of money. This is not true. Before selecting the student loan consolidation company, it is good to consider some essential factors. You have to see that all the terms are beneficial for you and that too in the long run. Avoid looking for short term benefits unless you are in deep and severe financial crisis. See that there are no charges and penalties for repaying your installments in advance. Even if you do not have the job right now, consider these points. This is important because in near future you are going to get the job and then you will prefer paying off all your loans as fast as possible. When considering non ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are various reasons people press the repeat button, whether it be the sound of the singer s voice, the quality of their musicianship, or their heartfelt lyrics and the story they tell. The song Hands Down , by Dashboard Confessional tells the story of a day in the life of lead singer, Chris Carrabba, in high school. Carrabba has said that this song is about the best day he has ever had, and introduces it as such at concerts. Dashboard Confessional effectively uses paradox, irony, imagery, and repetition, to enable the listener to create a visual and experience emotions felt by the writer. Hands ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The boy is hoping for something as simple as a kiss, and this simple action would please him so much that it would kill him. The boy is willing to give up everything in order to experience this kiss and end his life on a happy note. Another literary device used in Hands Down is irony. During the middle of the song, this line sets the mood for the story and the presumed expectations of a teenage relationship. The words are hushed, let s not get busted. Just lay entwined here, undiscovered, Safe in here from all the stupid questions: Hey did you get some? Man, that is so dumb. Stay quiet, stay near, stay close, they can t hear, so we can get some. In most relationships sex is an essential and expected part, even for teenagers. Many teen relationships are subjected to the scrutiny of their peers on whether or not they are getting some . This stanza is ironic because in the beginning it says how dumb the questions about getting some are, yet at the end it talks about doing just that. At the very end of the song, Dashboard uses imagery to describe the little things that you will always remember, and the one special night that was meant to be ordinary, yet turned out to be so incredibly wonderful. • 7. The Study Of Patterns In Psychology The participants in the sample of this study were 64 young (18 38; 41 female), right hand native speakers of German. The study s design was observing and comparing brain activity patterns during study of visually presented words to examine remembering and forgetting in a later oral free recall task, while manipulating deep versus shallow processing during the presentation of stimuli. Deep encoding was operationalized by fMRI increased activity in the left hippocampus, eliciting functional connectivity with larger scale semantic networks. Shallow encoding was operationalized by increased activity in the same brain areas as deep encoding (although weaker) in addition to qualitatively distinct connectivity changes. Procedures for the study ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In both study conditions, successful encoding was associated with significant activations in the bilateral hippocampus in addition to the dorsolateral and ventrolateral prefrontal cortex. These activations were more pronounced during deep processing verses shallow processing. The results of this study is consistent with recent research by showing that successful encoding for later episodic memory is associated with increased neural connectivity, which is the precondition during successful retrieval. Memory traces reside in neocortical areas, coordinated by the hippocampus. This hippo campal cortical connectivity increases during successful encoding and we can see that this was more pronounced during successful deep level encoding, which means deep level encoding leaves behind more distinctive and retrievable memory traces. I think this study has good construct validity. Depth of processing (deep level and shallow level) was measured by the hypothesized activated brain regions during the successful deep and shallow encoding of verbal information, which was consistent with previous literature on brain scans in levels of processing and successful memory formation. This study would not be very high on external validity. The subjects in this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This Compare and Contrast essay states the differences and similarities of both. Including; Settings, clothes, origins and the modifications Disney made to the original tale. The fairytale was originally based upon Sir James M. Barrie s 1904 play about the boy who refuses to grow up, the film begins in the London nursery of Wendy, John, and Michael Darling, where three children are visited by Peter Pan. With the help of his tiny friend, Tinkerbell, Peter takes the three children on a magical flight to Never Land. • 14. Canada as an Ethical and Egalitarian Model for the United... Introduction Universal healthcare should be available to everyone in the United States, and the best system would be a Canadian style, single payer form of national health insurance rather than Obama Care or reliance on private health insurance. Health care is a basic human right, and from an ethical viewpoint, the system in the United States is the most unjust and unequal in the Western world and paradoxically the most expensive as well. Although national health insurance was first proposed as early as 1912, and again during the New Deal and Fair Deal in the 1930s and 1940s, it has always been blocked by powerful corporate interests that have far too much influence on politics and public opinion. Even worse, the injustice of the present system is borne most heavily by the poor, working class, and members of minority groups who lack health care coverage at work and cannot afford private insurance. North of the border, Canada has a far better model for health care and one that most U.S. reformers have demanded since the 1940s. Medicare has been a very popular public service in Canada since it was first passed in 1966, and provides universal health care paid for out of general tax revenue. In the U.S., Medicare covers only those over age 65, but it should be modified into a Medicare for all system, especially if the Supreme Court overturns Obama Care this year. Nicole s First Signs Of Ectopic Pregnancy According to the American Pregnancy Association, an ectopic pregnancy is a serious pregnancy complication in which a fertilized egg secures itself to an area outside of the uterus. This is typically in an area that is not meant for a developing embryo, such as the fallopian tubes. In the initial case study presentation, the patient, Nicole, was experiencing symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy. Nicole s first signs of an ectopic pregnancy were that she felt very nauseous, was dizzy, and began to vomit. The main symptoms that occurred in the initial case study for us to distinguish this as an ectopic pregnancy was the nausea, traces of blood in the urine, and the abdominal pelvic pain. Abdominal pelvic pain occurs in ectopic pregnancy because the zygote falls into the fallopian tube instead of implanting itself into the uterus. The patient then took a physical exam in which some irregular results were found. The patient had sharp pains running through the abdomen and swelling of the lower right quadrant. These symptoms correlate with an ectopic pregnancy in that the fertilized egg could be implanted in the abdominal area. Also, in the physical exam, endometrial bleeding was discovered which is typically found early on in a pregnancy. Lastly, the physical exam showed that there were enlarged nodes in the submandibular, axillary, and inguinal regions. These irregular results lead us to believe that there is an abnormality in the pregnancy. In the blood chemistry panel, two results were found to be extremely higher than the reference range. They were estradiol and progesterone. According to the Walk In Lab, estradiol is only seen in the blood in large amounts during pregnancy. When estradiol levels are high and continually increase in steady amounts, this indicates that there is a pregnancy. Progesterone is used to detect if there is either infertility or a failing ... Employees Are The Most Important Factor Of Production Employees are indeed a crucial part of any organization and are often referred to by economists as the most important factor of production. For many years, employers have been faced with the issue of retention and are fairly cautious when it comes to managing and retaining their workforce. Included in this is having the best possible employees or talent on your team working efficiently to ensure the business is stable and successful. As it is said an organization can only be as successful as the people working with them . Ensuring you have the proper team is crucial but if there is any downfall to an individual employee this can slow production or lower morale amongst your employees. There are three different broad groups employees can be categorized within depending on their contribution within the organization. These three broad groups are the engaged employees, the non engaged employees, and also the actively disengaged employees. Engaged employees are the desirables for any organization as these employees are self motivated and want better for the organization and take pride and passion into their work. They often put their best foot forward and want to move the organization in the right direction. Non engaged employees are those employees who are disconnected from their employers who tend to just do the bare minimum and have minimal pride in their work. These can be identified as those employees who simply show up to get a check and leave. The final group, actively ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Role Of Violence In The Iliad Josef Affourtit Affourtit.2 February 10th, 2017 CLAS1101 The Iliad: Greeks and Their Love for War It has long been a popular scholarly opinion that the Greeks in the Iliad were lovers of war and violence. The Greeks were most definitely primal beasts, and blood shedders, a fact made abundantly clear in the Iliad. However, I think that the Greeks were not lovers of war, furthermore I think this interpretation is shortsighted. The amount of violence in the Iliad seems to be evidence for their love of war, but the ancient world was primal and passionate, and these ancient beasts were not strangers to bloodshed and violence. If the Hero had slain a goat, the Greeks would not have rejoiced (unless they were particularly famished that day), because the Greeks do not celebrate bloodshed for the sake of red, they celebrate honor and immortality granted to those who exhibit greatness. This is also why I think Homer and other story telling decedents choose to remember those that are bastards and those that are highborn. A bastard being less honorable than a noble highborn man, and than those born from human woman and a god for a father. I cannot accept that through millennia of retellings of the Iliad, such a seemingly minuscule detail such as bastard would be kept without reason. The description bastard appears many times during the bloodshed of the Iliad. In Book IV, As the javelin homed in on Democoön, Pram s bastard son from his horse farm in Abydos (Homer, Iliad 4), it is again mentioned the honor associated with the kill, a bastard boy, rather than a hero. These symposia have provided, on a relaxed basis, the opening for NGOs to discuss certain specific issues with representatives of WTO Member countries. Day to day Contact The WTO Secretariat receives a huge number of requests per day from NGOs, from all over the world and Secretariat staff meets with NGOs on a habitual basis both individually and as a part of NGO organized events. The annual report of the World Trade Organization corroborates the growing official relationship between civil society and trade. Tucked away in a silent corner of the report is the reason that the number of NGOs attending the WTO ministerial increased many times over, from 108 at the Singapore ministerial in 1996 to 811 in the Hong Kong ministerial, nine years later. The growth that occurred in the Seattle ministerial can be attributed to the mobilization of NGOs that were in fact against the WTO. Indeed, at several points in that ministerial, including its abandoned inauguration, official NGO delegates attempted to disrupt proceedings. The role of NGO s in the panel proceedings has been recognized recently but their potential on how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. The Integration Of The European Process Of Integration The next chapter represents an attempt to develop new understandings of the problems related to the European process of integration. More specifically, the aim of this section is to outline the possible mechanisms that, in being conducive of socialization, can push member states to work together and to think in terms of common problems and common concerns . It has been chosen to accomplish this task by dividing the chapter into three main parts. The first one will present the possibility to identify the launch of non binding elements as valid strategies aimed at driving the behavior of actors. Particularly, their ability to be perceived politically, socially and morally binding will be discussed. The second part will be focusing on the analysis of the European Open Method of Coordination that, according to this research, represents a valid laboratory where mechanisms of social influence and microprocesses of socialization can be observed. In addition, its application within the institutional framework of the EU is considered to be a good illustration of possible solutions able to renovate and possibly reinvent the European Union of tomorrow. In conclusion, the third part of the chapter has to be conceived as an attempt to go a step further the simple observation of existent mechanisms interacting between each other. In fact, it consists in the evaluation of the extent in which the behavior of actors has been altered since the advance of soft EU stimuli. More ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. My Greek And Chinese Zodiac Signs You could ask me to write about my best friends and I would be able to comprise a fair essay about them, but ask me to write an essay about myself, that s where it gets difficult for me. So to assist me in describing my personality I will use my Greek and Chinese zodiac descriptions. I think that both of these signs matches my personality. Even though I think that horoscopes are useful l, I m not the kind of person that would check my daily horoscope in fear that if I don t I ll die or something. It s just something that I enjoy reading. The Chinese zodiac had determined that snakes are, sensitive, humorous, and soft spoken. I know these are mostly true because sometimes I get offended easily, I laugh almost all the time, and don t speak ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. The Importance Of Religion In Education I am very grateful to God for providing the Interpreting Scripture Course with Dr. Norris. I serve our Lord as Director of Ministry to Women and Children at Trinity Church alongside a team of pastors reporting to the Senior Pastor. I have served in full time in ministry for nine years, with the first five years in another area church. Prior to full time ministry, I held a 21 year long business career as a top executive and served the Lord in church lay leadership. I consider God s call on my life to use the experience He developed in me during the business years to now use it to edify His church in growing believers while reaching out to the community in need of a Savior. When I was thirteen, I became a children s teacher. At age ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, word study and access to Hebrew and Greek are completely new to me. Using the concordance and Blue Letter Bible to find if the common root words that have been translated are the same or not was extremely helpful. I previously understood evaluating the surrounding context, but did not have access or know how to evaluate the keywords in Hebrew or Greek which helps to extend valuable insight in how the word was used to the original biblical audience. This interpretive evaluation is clarifying my focus on what theological truths are present, therefore driving properly aligned application. To take this a step further, I am in prayer now in planning forward how to use this class learning (observation, literary context, word studies) and teach them to women ministry leaders at Trinity this coming summer focusing on a section of Scripture. Moreover, I would provide teaching on the genre and historical background of the Scripture we would be focusing on. And furthermore, I am praying about providing this learning opportunity for all women at Trinity. Also of great importance and completely new to me is the 5 Step Interpretive Journey. Specifically, in Step 1 learning to use different interpretive tools to uncover what the text could have meant to the biblical audience and then carry that into Step 2 in evaluating our cultural differences to that of the biblical audience. • 36. Mortgage Fraud And The Big Short By Starring Christian... Mortgage fraud is one of the costliest, yet seldom prosecuted crimes in the criminal world. CoreLogic estimates approximately $13 billion in fraud losses occurred in 2012, according to the latest available data in the 2012 Mortgage Fraud Trends Report (Gerding, 2013). While these numbers may seem high, the approximate $13 billion in losses is only a fraction of what it would be if every case were to be prosecuted. Mortgage fraud was also a major contributing factor towards a national, and nearly global economic collapse in 2008 when the United States economy saw the worst recession it has seen since the great depression. Anyone that has seen the films 99 homes starring Andrew Garfield and Michael Shannon or The Big Short starring Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling has seen a largely realistic glimpse of mortgage fraud and how devastating it can be. White collar crime: Mortgage fraud Traditionally, there are three types of mortgage fraud that are the most common and well known. These three types are fraud for profit , fraud for housing and a third type that deals with overestimating a property s value or submitting a false appraisal (Schmalleger, 2016). A relatively new fourth type of mortgage fraud that quickly escalated following the economic crash of 2008 involves a series of scams claiming to save property owners from foreclosure. A criminal that commits fraud for profit essentially inquires about a home or property, makes an offer desirable to the seller and places ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Forbidden Lies By Norma Khouri The history of publishing has been plagued with literary hoaxes from the somewhat harmless Ern Malley hoax to the most recent Belle Gibson scandal. Unfortunately literary hoaxes will continue to happen, unless publishers begin to fact check manuscripts before publication. Publishers claim they are unable to do this due to the financial cost of the procedure and this is a believable claim. If you spoke to an average person they would say that the print industry is dying, thanks to the rise of digital technology, and there has been a downturn in profits. However, regardless of whether the print industry actually is dying or not, a publisher is responsible, both legally and ethically, for every manuscript they put onto our shelves. This essay argues that publishers need to make fact checking part of the standard publishing procedure to uphold their legal and ethical responsibilities to the public. Forbidden Lies by Norma Khouri will be used as a case study throughout the essay. First, this essay will give a brief overview of the Norma Khouri hoax, then move on to discuss why fact checking is not commonplace in the book publishing industry. Next, it will assess where the legal and ethical responsibilities lie with the author or publisher. After this, it will examine the financial repercussions and damage to a publisher s reputation after the publication of a literary hoax. Then, it will begin to examine the ethical damage literary hoaxes cause to the readers who are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Business Economics | Peter F. Drucker is the management scholar. He is thought to be the establishing father of current management. Peter Drucker, whose life crossed the previous century (1909 2005), was an exceedingly instructed native of the world: an innovative soul who composed thirty nine books including numerous fantastic chips away at business management. The point when Peter Drucker, then a trainee bank assistant in Hamburg, initially contemplated the works of Sören Kierkegaard (1813 1855): the existentialist savant, theologist, religious writer and advocate of the Idea of Christianity, Kierkegaard was still moderately obscure. Drucker was captivated by the philosophy embraced by this philosophical independent, in particular, to utilize logic as an instrument for reflecting upon Christianity. Kierkegaard suspected that people existed in an element relationship as both profound creatures and individuals from society. As per Kierkegaard, it is conviction that instills our otherworldly existence with the conviction that we are not the only one, with importance, and with a flat out perspective, in particular God. The distinguishment on one hand that wickedness is a piece of human instinct and on the other that a sufferable coexistence is still conceivable got to be natural to Peter Drucker s own rationality. This gathering of Peter F. Drucker s papers investigates the crossing point between society, governmental issues, and financial aspects. Notwithstanding this grand objective, be that as it may, the papers themselves stay sensible, very meaningful, and brimming with stories and thoughts that make us ponder the business world around us. The dominant part of these papers were composed in the 1960s, and in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
