Unit 331 Understanding children and young person s Development. Assignment (Task)
Task D Report
Early identification of speech, language or communication delay is important for a child or young
persons well being. All practitioners have a responsibility to identify children s needs and
intervene with appropriate support as early as possible, to help children achieve the goals of Every
Child Matters and progress towards the Early Learning Goals. The importance of early language
and communication skills for children s later achievements is now well documented and the need
to provide support for children at this early stage is so that they can achieve their full potential.
This means recognising a child s difficulty quickly: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As most of a child s communication happens at home it is vital that close links are made between
professionals and family members/carers and to look at ways of supporting the child or young
person at home.
If a child or young person needs more than the support of the school environment, then a multi
agency team will be involved. This would involve the child s teacher, teaching assistant, the school
SENCO, qualified and experienced professionals, for example Speech and Language Therapists and
most importantly parents. This might be through a recognized programme such as the Nuffield
Dyspraxia Programme, Language through Reading or Social Use of Language Programme, or
through a combination of approaches tailored to suit the individual child or young person.
A child or young person with speech, language and communication delay will usually have a
Multi Element Plan (M.E.P.). If they do not seem to be making enough progress or they need a
lot of extra help the school SENCO will contact the Local Authority and ask them to carry out a
statutory assessment. This is only usually required for children who have the most significant and
long term special educational needs which require a very detailed assessment. It can be a long
process and both the school and parents are involved. If a statement of Special Educational Needs
(SEN) is issued, this will take

Management, Organizational Behavior, And The Systems Theory
Management Techniques
Management has transformed immensely throughout the years as civilization has progressed and
acquired more knowledge about how to manage the workforce effectively. The first approaches to
management were effective at first but failed to make a long lasting stay in the management world
as times changed. It appears that all early tactics often met only one area of the business needs while
neglecting the others. It can be hard to find the right balance and then maintain that balance but
contemporary approaches to management aim to do just that. The sociotechnical theory, quantitative
management, organizational behavior, and the systems theory all work in different ways to
maintain a sort of balance within the businesses internal, competitive and macroenviroments.
Keeping all areas of the open system balanced is essential for any manager to have a successful
business. The sociotechnical theory was developed in the early 1950 s and was designed to refine
the social environment of the workplace to fit the needs of the company. Basically, the purpose of
this theory was to make sure the employees had the tools and knowledge they needed to effectively
create goods and services for the customers (Bateman, 2013). Unlike the human focus the
sociotechnical theory has, the quantitative management pays more attention to numbers. This type
of management focuses on creating and utilizing tools to keep track of all the inventory, profit,
marketing, and other technical

Yu-Gi-Oh Game Analysis
1.In the game of Yu Gi Oh, there is a lot of give and take when it comes to cards. When
determining whether a card is good or not, I often look at just the good parts of the effect and
not the drawbacks. For example, there is a card called Card of Demise. This card allows you to
draw until you have 3 cards in your hand, but you cannot do damage to your opponent for the rest
of the turn, you send your entire hand to the Graveyard during the End Phase, and you cannot
Special Summon during the turn you activate this card. While there are some clear negatives to
the card, I overlook those and really only look at the fact that you can draw up to 3 cards, which is
unprecedented in Yu Gi Oh. While the creators of the card, Konami, try to make Card... Show more

One cannot see the Yu Gi Oh community without a glimpse of bandwagon. While in the card game
almost anything can be played within the entire 20 year history, people often flock to
bandwagoning the quote best decks. It has even gotten to the point where people come up with a
Tier List to place decks from best to worst, but these list are subjective. While there is potential for
any deck to do well in a tournament, one will see the same decks top because of the numbers that
represent those decks at a tournament because of bandwagoning. With groupthink, the community
believes those decks to be the best and are the decks that are looked at when it is time to hit cards

Northern Abolitionist Movement Dbq Essay
Moshe Fogelman
DBQ 2 C Starting with the Atlantic slave trade in Jamestown, Virginia, in 1619, in which slaves
were brutally transported in the middle passage from Africa to America, slavery had an important
role in the American economy, but differed in volume by region. However, as the colonies
declared their independence in 1776, a gradual anti slavery movement began in the North as many
formed negative opinions about the Southern Peculiar Institution of a slavery based economy.
Various issues and ideas from 1776 to 1852 caused this gradual Northern abolitionist movement:
political intervention, economic inabilities and threats, social anxieties and intervention, and
fundamental moral ideas respectively reflect the thesis.

The Liberator, William Lloyd Garrisons radical newspaper, proposed and encouraged immediate
abolition of slavery (Doc E), while other publications indirectly sympathized slaves and gained
popularity by revealing and polarizing cruelties. For example, Harriet Booker wrote Uncle Tom s
Cabin (Doc J), which became vastly popular, to tell the story of the awful slave trade and its
devastating impact on families, and Fredrick Douglas, a former slave, wrote an autobiography
intricately depicting his personal memories of his owner s cruelties (Doc G). Gaining popularity in
America and Europe, many newly informed Northerners contributed and strengthened the
abolitionist movement. Although Southerners continued to disregard these messages, Northerners
new sympathetic and personal awareness of the treatment of slaves fueled the gradual abolitionist
movement between 1776 and

A Text Message From My Life
One dark stormy night I got a text message from my boyfriend saying get dress we going out.
When he arrived at my house we went to dinner and then back at his house. As we was sitting on
the sofa, we was talking about how each other day went until his phone goes off and then he
starts replying back to text message. I kept talking to him and he wasn t paying me no mind so
then I sent him a text while he was sitting a couple inches from me to get his attention. It s likely
you ve done this, too. Then he looked at me because he knew I was mad by my facial expression,
so he put his phone away in his pocket. When a person is spending alone time with their mate or
just anyone in general it s a place when one gets to enjoy ones company, not a place where one
get to enjoy what s going on ones side of the phone. This illustrates that there is little empathy
towards people if they can t even get a faceto face conversation with each other for a couple hours
without one person looking at their phone. Nobody should have to send a text message to get ones
attention or make them feel empathy towards them.
Technology has become an important part of our daily lives and is gradually affecting the way
we feel for others. As the years go on, it becomes faster, smaller. Everywhere we go we see
technology or someone using it and many people would say it s a second you. Technology has
made as lazy and self aware of the world around us. We re missing out on the important

Wonder Woman Hero
Spider Man and Wonder Woman are not similar to the stereotypical heroes at the time, but they
still had the attributes of a true hero. In the past, Stan Lee had thought of a superhero that would
be similar to teenagers. Stan Lee wanted to construct a hero that people could relate to, and in the
end he created Spider Man. Spider Man simply had the same abilities as a spider. Then in 1941,
Wonder Woman made her first appearance from the mind of William Moulton Marston
. William
supported women s rights since his college days, and he wanted to have equality for each gender
in all human activities. In addition, people believed that comics were bad for kids, but William
believed not. Wonder Woman s set of skills is that she could fly, had immense speed, strength, and
smarts. Additionally, Wonder Woman also wielded a lasso that could make anyone tell the truth if
caught by it, and this lasso is inspired from William s polygraph, which was able to detect lies.

Martin turned it down because many people do not enjoy spiders. He said that Spider Man seemed
more like a comedy character than a powerful superhero. Since most people don t like spiders,
Goodman thought that the name Spider Man was a terrible choice, (1 Patel). At the time, Wonder
Woman had powers similar to the male superheroes of the time because most female heroes were
minor characters with limited powers. Then, as now, most comic book characters were male. The
few female characters were minor players with limited powers, (2 Wilmore). Wonder Woman and

The Awakening, By Kate Chopin
Fate is a highly questionable topic when it comes to how people live their lives. Many people can
t comprehend giving their life up to chance, but many believe it to be the best way to live. Fate is
the destined path given to each person to implement throughout their lifetime. It can t be stopped,
or reasoned with, merely accepted. Many characters struggle with idea of fate in The Awakening,
but nobody accepts fate more than Edna. In Kate Chopin s novel The Awakening, fate is used as
an irrepressible force that manipulates Edna in order to give her a better life. For Edna, her fate
seemed to have left much to be desired in the beginning of the novel. She is left, lamenting at
Fate, which had directed her footsteps to the path which they had taken, (Chopin 8). By using
fate as a proper noun, Chopin gives it an identity. Edna s life was seized by fate and she is
feeling grief about the direction her life has been taken. She s blames fate for the choices she
made as a young woman, and now Edna is regretting it. She was a grown young woman when
she was overtaken by what she supposed to be the climax of her fate, (Chopin 18). She is young,
but yet fate seems to have cursed her with a mediocre life, that has no sign of changing. Early in
the novel Edna couldn t see her routine life changing, but Chopin alluded to it in this quote. She
supposed nothing greater would become of her fate, but reading closely would reveal the
unstoppable and ever evolving will of fate. However,

Lady Macbeth s Assassination Of King Duncan
In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, lady Macbeth is mostly responsible for the murder of
King Duncan. Although, Macbeth killed the king it was lady Macbeth s manipulation towards her
husband Macbeth which made him murder King Duncan. Lady Macbeth ridiculed Macbeth that he
will not be a man unless he commits this immoral act. Lady Macbeths greed also plays a
tremendous role in the murder of king Duncanas she wants to become the Queen and have more
power. Lady Macbeth is also very persistent to achieve that title. Therefore, Lady Macbeth is most
responsible for the assassination of King Duncan because she ridicules Macbeth, she is very
manipulative and she is persistent in her efforts to become Queen.

John Steinbeck s East Of Eden
I.SUBJECT John Steinbeck s East of Eden centers on the Trask and Hamilton families in the
year 1902 in the Salinas Valley, California. After growing up in Connecticut alongside his brother
Charles under the harsh parenting and rejection of his father, Adam Trask seeks to find
happiness and peace. He vows to be a better man than his father and feels the rolling valleys of
California calling him. One night, Cathy Ames crawls onto the doorstep of Adam and Charles

the woman she portrays herself to be. He is unaware of her dark past and her evil motive to

It is through the opposition of one another that an absence of the love they so earnestly desire is
bred. Rejection is first present in Cyrus Trask s raising of his two sons, Adam and Charles.
Cyrus utilizes a harsh parenting style, one in which he trains his sons for the military from a
young age. Charles excels at the rigorous trainings, while Adam struggles and begins to develop
a hatred for his father. As Cyrus pushes Adam harder, a favoring of one son over the other is
apparent. Cyrus favors Adam because he feels he is the stronger and better son, I love you
better. I always have...Else why would I have given myself the trouble of hurting you?
(Steinbeck 28). Charles feels rejected and works to gain his father s approval, but Cyrus
continues to favor Adam regardless of Charles efforts. It is due to this rejection that Charles
develops a sensitive and violent personality, Rage came first and then a coldness, a possession;
noncommittal eyes and a pleased smile and no voice at all, only a whisper. When that happened
murder was on the way (30). Charles violence and anger are a failing effort to fight for love,
which in return only makes him a broken man. Cathy Ames is an example of how rejection by one
woman can lead to the downfall of all those around her. Cathy was born an enigma and used this to
manipulate others. People were drawn to her out of curiosity so in return she lures them in and then
swiftly rejects them. They would

Effects Of Adoption And Adoption
One hundred years ago, if a child was found unwanted or neglected, they were placed in an
orphanage. Today, our society has created a foster care system taking children and putting them in
better homes until reunited with biological parents or adopted. This system has become so
elaborate that it s not uncommon for the average person to know someone who was in foster careor
who was adopted. For this reason, adoptionand fostering are terms that have become very
commonplace in our society today. However, consider the following four examples, unique each
in their own right, and yet all profoundly changed by a simple openness to life. The following
experiences are examples of the truly life changing effect fostering and adoption can have on all the
families involved.
In the United States alone, there are over 427,910 children in foster care within the last two
years, and more and more are put in each day. The average child spends 22 months in foster care
bouncing from one home to another, being pulled from their real homes over and over, and
sometimes are never adopted. Since I was just six years old my parents have been involved in
foster care, taking in children who are in need of safe homes to stay in for awhile, or for children
who are in need of adoption. I am now sixteen, and the past ten years has had its ups and downs;
we have had children brought into our home, stay for roughly 2 3 years and then get sent back to

Why Is Animal Testing Wrong
Human s have made innumerable advancements in the world we live in however in doing so, the
progression of ethical and moral decisions made upon animal testing and vivisection have failed to
strive simultaneously. In this paper I will affirm with the central claim that it is wrong to cause
unnecessary sufferingought to be extended to the practice of vivisection. Innocent animals should
not be put through these harsh environments of inflicted pain for the sake of a slight potential gain
in humanliving. I believe this because these animals cannot represent themselves and vocalize their
willful consent in the practice and will not be able to comprehend the pain and suffering caused
during testing periods. The most common objection proposed to this claim however, would be the
explained rationale behind why this form of testing occurs and the benefits it has shown in
enhancing human and non human existence. Although these considerations arise, it is still found
to be unethical to cause unnecessary harm and suffering to any live animal in the name of scienceto
supposedly gain a successful medical treatment or household product. Animal welfare

Suffering In Cormac Mccarthy s Blood Meridian
There is a horde of explanations pertaining to the epilogue of Blood Meridian. The short passage
has sparked ideas of the idealistic human nature of suffering, the search for enlightenment through
Gnosticism, and the subtle persuasion that lies beneath eloquent language, both in Judge Holden s
claims and Cormac McCarthys narration. It is important, before delving into these ideas, that the
passage is recounted.
In the dawn there is a man progressing over the plain by means of holes that he is making in the
ground. He uses an implement with two handles and he chucks it into the hole and he enkindles the
stone in the hole with his steel hole by hole striking the fire out of the rock which God has put
there. On the plain behind him are the wanderers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He has no desire to alleviate human suffering, or to intervene in humanity s slow self
destruction; he only watches. McCarthy uses these ideas as a platform for the bizarre
atmosphere of the West, calling into question why a creator in favor of humanity would create a
place so desolate and violent. The man in the epilogue is described as striking the fire out of the
rock which God has put there, suggesting that he is a pneumatic (Someone who understands the
true state of the cosmos and the nature of the nameless Alien God ) who frees the sparks of the
divine fire trapped in matter or rock by the God of this world, the demiurge. Within the context
of Gnosticism, the steel of the man s tool causes sparks as he digs; each hole dispersing these
sparks into the cosmos and restoring unity to the Alien God. This difficult process is one of
salvation, and the pneumatics task is a long and ongoing one, as each spark that dies without
escaping to the alien God is thrown back into its realm, and thus they all move on again like
clockwork, presumably until the last bit of fire has been freed from the rocks. In this framework,
those who have not attained spiritual enlightenment follow the man and the holes he s making.
Those who search for bones are followers of religions that claim that all will be revealed in the
afterlife. These wanderers look to the empty promise of death for salvation, not realizing that
without Gnosis (Gnostic enlightenment) they will be flung back into the manifest world, life after
life. The ones who do not search are the materialists, content with the achievement of wealth and
power, who are even less awakened to Gnosis than those who search for answers in bones. Both
parties move haltingly in the light like mechanisms because they do not posses free will, and
display themselves as

do. However, if you create a planner, you ll simultaneously free your mind to focus on task
completion instead. To create a planner you ll actually use, consider these three tactics.
1. Take a look at your goals.
Write down all the things you d like to accomplish this year. Whether the goal involves losing
weight, saving money or going on a vacation, write it down. In order to succeed with a goal, you
ve got to break it down into bite size chunks. When you break the big goal down and create a plan,

If you have a family, they probably have their own schedules as well. It s not fun when you
realized you ve forgotten something important to attend or do. When you keep a planner, you ll
have a better chance of remembering important dates and tasks. Look at your planner as your
personal assistant. Just before you head to bed each night, pull out the planner and take a look at
what you have scheduled for the following day. If there are any additions, you ll want to write
them down at this time. This one habit can really help you center your mind and mentally prepare
yourself for what the day has to offer. A planner also takes the guesswork out of the equation. By
maintaining a planner, you ll know what s next.
3. Use visual cues.
If you love colorful stickers or brightly colored pens, use them in your planner. Visual stimulation
can really motivate you to look and see what s going on in your planner. If you love motivational
quotes, try to find a planner that has a few already etched in. It s all about incorporating the things
you love so you can accomplish the things you ve set out to do.
Overall, having a system to keep you organized is always beneficial in more ways than one. A
planner is merely the best tool to keep everything in one place. After using this tool for a few
weeks, you ll quickly realize how helpful it is and how much you need it in your

Krapp s Last Tape Essay
Samuel Beckett s Krapp s Last Tape is a dismally brooding play where Krapp, the protagonist,
converses with himself through his disassociated recorded personal accounts. The old man, Krapp,

. . Hm . . . The black ball . . . (He raises his head, stares blankly front. Puzzled.) Black ball?
Although the black ball goes undefined, it s proximity in the sentence suggests a relationship to
his mother s death. Without further investigation of this black ball, the play continues; however,
the black ball returns to display its importance in the piece later: In the end I held it out to him
and he took it in his mouth, gently, gently. A small, old, black, hard, solid rubber ball. (Pause.) I
shall feel it, in my hand, until my dying day. (Pause.) I might have kept it. (Pause.) But I gave it
to the dog. At the moment of his mother s death, Krapp gives his old, black, hard, solid rubber
ball to the dog who was prior identified as being white. Passing off the darkness of death to the
innocence and purity of the white dog gently, gently receiving it. Despite his relinquishing of his
memories of his mother in the form of the black ball, he shall feel it until his dying day. Beckett
writes throughout the play about darkness in a way that is far more appreciative than is typical.
Darkness has presence and keep s Krapp company. That presence of the darkness is made through
memory, because Krapp can feel his mother s presence in the dark black ball. His ability to hold
onto that feeling until his dying day suggests that his mothers memory will live on with

Ethics Of Patriotism Essay
Comparative Ethics of Patriotism
I.Introduction What is the moral worth of patriotism? Is there a substantive difference between the
patriotism of totalitarian and liberal countries? Do the soldiers in those countries experience
patriotism differently? In this paper, I will attempt to affirm the moral worth of patriotism, find the
exact differences between totalitarian and liberal patriotism, and determine how this difference
might manifest itself within the citizens of either country. Our paper structure will begin with using
a common definition of patriotism, and will make an initial attempt to argue for a difference
between liberal and totalitarian instances of patriotism. When this attempt fails, we will more
clearly and carefully define patriotism, and explore the challenges in assessing its moral worth.
Then, after a re conception of patriotism, we will return to the question of patriotic differences
between totalitarian and liberal governments. As a final note to the reader, no specific moral theory
will be employed. Instead, the priority in this analysis will be focused more closely on uncovering
relations between citizen and state that have implications in any moral system not just noting
instances where patriotism seems to violate the specific rules of one moral system.
II.An Initial Definition of Patriotism It helps, when discussing definitions, to pull from a trusted
source; in this case, it will be the Sanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, and more

HIV And AIDS
HIV and AIDS are different. HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus and AIDS stands for
acquired immune deficiency syndrome. This disease damages a person s immune system making
it easier to get sick. HIV is transmitted through semen, vaginal fluids, blood, and breast milk. HIV
works by attacking the T cell in the human body. There is no cure for this disease, but early
detection is important for treatment. Once a person is diagnosed with HIVthey will always have it.
This is a very devastating disease and it is preventable.
Synopsis of film
I chose to watch the movie And the Band Played On. This movie took a look into the first years of
when they discovered HIV/AIDS. The movie starts out with two doctors over in Africa trying to
contain the Ebola disease before it spread to other parts of the country. They burned the bodies to
prevent the disease from spreading more. As the movie continues it starts case by case of each
patient infected with HIV. The doctors are baffled by the lab values showing that the patients have
no T cell count. Nevertheless, the CDC starts getting involved because they know that it is
occurring among the homosexual men and the numbers keep rising. They started interviewing
homosexual men and searching gay community places to understand how it was spreading. They
found poppers that could be a possible cause but all the tests that they ran on them came back with
no possible reasoning that it s causing this disease. The doctors began looking into

Importance of Not Being Late Essay
Importance of not being late. In the following paper I will be discussing what series of actions
brought me to write this paper, the army regulations surrounding said actions, the possible effects
these actions might have on the accomplishment of the mission, the possible affects on your
career, and how to discourage and possibly stop such things from ever happening soon or ever
again. The reason I am being subject to this time consuming, uninspired, and rather lackluster
writing assignment is because I failed to be at the correct place of duty at the time appointed to
me by my superiors. The day before we had a relatively late work call and I adjustment my alarm

If you are charged and found guilty under these articles you can be facing a multitude of
outcomes none of which one would strife for. The commanding officer could be as lenient as
letting you go with a stern yet fair warning and talking, you may find yourself picking up trash
after work and during the weekends for anything between the parameters of seven to forty five
days of extra duty. You may also suffer from the economical side of the house because they may
decide to go ahead and cut your monthly pay in half for two whole months back to back. Last of
the outcomes named here but the one that I personally believe to be the worst is the loss of
rank. The can take one or all of the them depending on the severity of the cause being presented
to the commanding officer. Rank is the thing that takes the most time to achieve the first time
around coming up the ranks, to lose it after you have it makes it harder for you to be seeing as a
professional and a soldier that is worth pushing forward to achieve to the next step in his career.
Next we will discuss in this paper the impact such actions can have getting the mission finished,
moral and appearance of the company or organization, and the direct impact it can have on the

Number Two Effect
Number one was one that had a lot of emotional impact that was taking place throughout the
duration of the song. It expressed a tone color that was orange and very intense. There was a lot of
conflict that was taking place between Ruth and Fredrick during this time. The melody showed
pitches that made up the different parts of the song. For example, both Ruth and Fredrick take turns
on who takes the melody of the song depending on who is dominant at certain points of the song.
Fredrick is more dominant and the beginning and then Ruth takes the attention later on. Harmony
took place as Ruth and Fredrick are singing different parts at the same time and the tones are
sounding simultaneously. With this, at the intense parts there are dissonances... Show more content

There was a tone color of purple because it was very shocking what was being said, but the
paradox part got very upbeat. This part of the story was very surprising and something that I was
no expecting. The melody that was used in number two was used by expressing different pitches.
This in relation into which one of the character was singing at the time. During the duration of
this song, the performers were the Pirate King, Frederick, and Ruth. In coalition to this, the
harmony are the sounds that were sounding simultaneously and throughout this song, the
performers would sing together. There were also times were Ruth was in more of the
background which was used to create a different melody. They also used rhythms that are known
throughout the song. For example, at one point it sounds like a circus theme song. This is used
to show how this scene is intended to be one where there is humor expressed. They are laughing
and enjoying the time because Frederick is finding out that because he was born on Leap Year he
is actually only five years old. The meter that was used in song number two was one that
fluctuated depending on what the song was saying. There was no set meter that it was focused on
being. For this song, the texture is also polyphonic because they are singing the part about paradox
at the same time and it shares importance with one another. The dynamics are used in this song

High Fidelity and Music Essay
High Fidelity and Music
In High Fidelity, Rob, the protagonist and narrator, says I find myself worrying away at that stuff
about pop music again, whether I like it because I m unhappy, or whether I m unhappy because I
like it (168). It is obvious to the reader that Rob has a very strong relationship to pop music but also
that this relationship is not as simple as the either or dichotomy he describes it as. At first, it is an
obsession that is almost pathological; by the end, it is an aid to his relationships and his idea of
who he is. Rob s relationship to music helps us understand Rob as a character through the different
ways he uses it to interact in his environment either as a crutch inhibiting his growth or as a way to

It is as if he is saying here, this is me; this is who I am so if the woman likes the tape, that means
she likes him, which would mean she is condoning who he is, which in turn would cause him to
weave the music that got this approval even more closely into his sense of self. Thus Rob is
defined by music and women he dates rather than through his own eyes. One gets a better idea of
this when Rob and Laura are arguing and Laura says she doesn t like music as much as she used
to. Rob says, But you see... That s all there is of me. There isn t anything else. If you ve lost
interest in that, you ve lost interest in everything. What s the point of us? (265). Here Rob is
basically admitting that he is using Laura to condone a definition of himself that has been created
by, that entirely consists of, music. If she can t do that anymore, there is no point of the relationship.
Another example of this is when Rob wants to sleep with Marie. The pathological aspect of this
is that part of the reason he is attracted to her is that he has always wanted to sleep with a
musician. This would be like circumventing the process of defining himself with music and then
getting a woman to condone this definition and just getting a definition and an approval from the
same source. The reader can see how Rob mingles music with Marie s personality when he says,
She describes the set up and her knock back with wisdom and honesty and a dry,

Marketing Proposal For Consumers Professional Credit Union
This marketing proposal, designed by Justin Ellenwood is created exclusively for use by
Consumers Professional Credit Union.
Introduction
Consumers Professional Credit Union (CPCU) will be creating a new product and a new
service to go along with this product. The product will be a credit card reader for any mobile
device. To enhance this product a mobile application will also be created. This application will be
a free application, which charges a fee per transaction. However, there will be a premium option
that will waive the transaction fee, as well as gain some enhanced features.
It was determined that a credit card reader and mobile application would be a good fit for CPCU
by researching the current options, the Canadian market, and if there is a need. First, the most
known credit card reader was looked at. This would be Square and it currently operates in Canada,
Japan, Australia, and United States (Square Office Locations, n.d.). According to Cocotas (2012)
in 2012, Square revealed that it was processing payments totaling roughly $11 million a day, a $2
billion increase from the previous year.
So there is defiantly a market for credit card readers and mobile applications, but why consider
Canada? Canada has a mobile readiness score of 42.0, which is the second highest behind
Singapore (Mobile Payments Readiness Index, n.d.). According to the MasterCard Mobile
Payments Readiness Index, Canada, like the United States, is very strong in propensity and usage in

Octavia Butler s The Parable Of The Talents In The...
Parable of the Talents Beginning in the 12th century, in the middle of the Medieval Ages, just
centuries after the fall of the greatest empire of classical history, the Roman Empire. There was an
invasion of religious frustration that swept across much of Europe, they were the inquisitions.
These various inquisitions caused a quake of fear for anyone that was suspected of betraying the
Catholic Churchor the Vatican. Though it was not just religious heresy and other religious groups, it
was also Pagans, Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Atheists, Freethinkers, Philosophers, Humanists, and
many others. Burning them at the stake, accusing them of heresy, and sending them to trial, and
inevitably their death (Bad News About Christianity). These various inquisitions, and the protestant
reformationwas known as one of humanities darkest events in history. People lived in fear of
accusation, death, and the social norms of this era; the world was living in a shadow of fear,
thousands dying by knife, ax, and fire. Over the course of 500 years, religious conflict spread
across Europe, though it was a widespread issue, it was tolerated by many. There are many
similarities between Octavia Butler s book, The Parable of the Talents and the various inquisitions
of human history, and through the persecutions and conversations of religious groups, the religious
chaos at this time, and how Lauren s character is similar to a religious icon during these times there

I Am Not A Patriot Analysis
Why I Am Not a Patriot
(Terms and Conditions May Apply)
Standard dictionaries define patriotism as a love for or devotion to one s country. While this offers
a succinct introduction to the notion of patriotism, a comprehensive account of the subject extends
well beyond the scope of any singular definition. In his defense of Modern Patriotism, Stephen
Nathanson addresses the hesitation that people face when forced to adopt or reject the patriot
label. Indeed, the modern conception of a patriot carries implications of blind allegiance and
excessive nationalism. Alternatively, to say that one is not a patriot suggests that one lacks the
loyalty appropriate to citizens. I open this discussion with the inner dialogue I faced when asked ...

While few advocates of patriotism would argue against the value of adopting patriotic beliefs,
the touchstone of patriotism involves a readiness to act for your country. Kateb interprets this as
a readiness to die and to kill, for one s country. However, his claims can be easily countered; even
if full fledged patriotism does involve a willingness to die for one s country it is not defined by it.
Instead a true patriot promises to uphold and advance a set of principles, even when his country
does not. The U.S. supreme court notes that an informed public is the most potent of all restraints
upon misgovernment. After all, patriotism, however social in nature, is a political

Good Girls Vs Bad Girls Essay
A shocking part of history a women had to struggle was during the history of post World War II .
Author Ann Fessler interviewed various of women who went through surrendering their newborn

Parents had high expectations for their daughters to behave and follow the regulation of society.
In chapter 3 Good girls versus bad girls explained the definition of good girls are considered to be a

college and high school female students go through sexual harassment or be sexual active. Many
of the young women grew up in a puritanical family who consider being a sin if you even dared to
be sexually active. Back then women were expected to wait until marriage and learn about sex from
their spouse.
During that time of era, plenty of young women were curious to experiment. The sad part about
the 1950s 1960s there was sex education, but it was not clear enough about the body parts of a

Registered nurses must be licensed in the state in which they work. Nurses may be licensed in
more than one state either by taking another NCLEX examination or by endorsement of a
license issued by another state (Field 53). Experience needed for success in the nursing field is
acquired in the clinical experience obtained in nursing school. Volunteering in a hospital is
encouraged before pursuing a nursing career to ensure that nursing is the field in which you want
to become a member. Career fairs are often held in high schools, vocational schools, colleges, and
hospitals so interested students can explore the career options in nursing (Farr, and Shatkin 329).

required to be a successful registered nurse. An individual working in the nursing field must learn
special medical skills, understand pharmaceutical language and information, and be able to

most important personality traits of a good registered nurse are compassion, sympathy, empathy,

Psychological And Social Process Theory Paper
There are many theories that attempt to explain the cause of crime. Two theories for the cause of
crime are the Psychological and Social Process Theory. According to Schmalleger (2015),
psychological theorist believe crime is the result of inappropriate behavioral conditioning or a
diseased mind (p. 78). Social Process Theory claims crimeresults from failure of self direction,
from inadequate social roles, or from associating with others who are already criminals
(Schmalleger, 2015, p. 103). Another theory is Conflict theory, Schmalleger (2015) states that
according to conflict theory crime is a natural consequence of social, political, and economic
inequities (p. 77). Another approach to crime causation is the Sociological theories which argue the
individual is a product of his or her environment (Schmalleger, 2015, p. 103).
Conflict theories are based on the belief that conflict among groups is unavoidable. According to
Schmalleger (2015), conflict theorists highlight the stress that arise among a social group as they
compete for resources and survival (p. 99). Conflict theorist believe that laws are tools of power
which further the interests of those who make them. This allows for those in power to gain control
of resources and deny accesses to disenfranchised groups (Schmalleger, 2015, p. 99).
Sociological theories on crime causation are pretty different, but they are all built on certain
foundations. According to Schmalleger (2015), sociological theorist

Is Technology A Servant Or Master Essay
Technology: Servant or Master?
Technology can be used as a helpful tool, but when it controls someone s life it can have many
negative effects. Several scientists have conducted research proving technology can hurt someone
mentally and emotionally when used as a safety blanket instead of a helping hand. The effects
include a lack of motivation, time management, concentration, and problem solving skills. Other
effects observed are changes in emotions and relationships.
As technology has continued to grow and evolve, it has also changed how society functions and
interacts. In Christian Lange s Nobel Peace Prize speech, he says Technology is a useful servant but
a dangerous master. When technology is used only to aid, it is a servant. It becomes the master...

The author, Peter Ferrara, opens the article by introducing his topic: the gold standard. He explains
that today s Americans have no true conception of what the gold standard is, blaming this on
modern media and lack of education. The author then begins to shape an argument by discussing
the history of the gold standard in the United Statesthoroughly. He points out the insignificant effect
that tying the U.S. dollar to gold had on inflation, and uses phrases from the Constitution to support
the implementation of the gold standard. Later in the article, Ferrara uses historical statistics
involving the value of the dollar to exemplify the negative effect of abandoning the gold standard
on the United States economy. He continues to support his argument by giving modern examples
of economic failure as a result of the U.S. dollar not being supported by gold.... Show more content

His reasons revolve around the effect that the gold standard would have on the American people
if reinstated. The author claims there would be no inflation on working wages, and investments
in America would increase, since the value of money would not change. Lower tax rates and
increased savings would cause an increase in American capital investment, leading to holistic
growth in the U.S. economy. Ferrara s evidence is even more convincing. In the article, the author
compares the value of gold and the dollar before the abandonment of the gold standard to today s
values, stressing the weakening power of the U.S. dollar. He then demonstrates the difference in
economic growth before and after America released the gold standard, stating When America was
on the gold standard, the real rate of economic growth averaged nearly 4% a year. Since then real
annual growth has stagnated at about 25% less. His evidence is both convincing and useful in

Digital Pedagogy Essay
Currently we live in an era driven by information, global competition and new technologies that
are changing the way we think, live and work. (Pillay, Boulton Lewis Wilss 2004, p.17). This
conveys the notion that technology has manipulated the minds of today s generation in every way
possible, could be during schooling and non schooling life. Hence in order for one s teaching style
to go successful one should teach in accordance to the characteristics of the generation they re
teaching as today s generation requires a digital pedagogy. Furthermore this essay scrutinizes how
the characteristics of the 21st century and the digital world will influence the type of teacher one
hopes to become. As well as it examines on the construction of skill development towards students
from the trending of digital fluency.
Technology today is the fundamental enhancement of teaching and education towards students
including collaborative learning. Many educators would approve that a vigorous display of student
triumph is the students ability to advance both skills and an interest in durable education. A teacher
s style of teaching regarding educational experience and environment could have a vast effect on
their student s education. However technology has emerged as the foundation regarding stronger
education, therefore numerous students going to college or university have already possessed
progressive skills concerning electronic learning as they ve practiced and learnt from a fledgling

Differences Between Iroquois Constitution And Us Constitution
The Iroquois and United States constitutions have very analogous ideas, but also have very distinct
differences as well. The Great Law of Peace (Iroquois constitution) dates back from the fifteenth
century and were created by the Iroquois confederacy. Columbus didn t arrive in America until 1492
and even then it took them a long period of time to establish themselves in the new country.
Meaning the Iroquois constitutioninitially came to existence before the United Statesconstitution
came into place. When the founding fathers of America wrote the constitution they had to base
their constitution on something because of the fact that they were a new nation being born and
needed a sense of guidance. So they base certain ideas from their native country, Mother England
and also borne ideas from the Iroquois constitution and as well implemented new concepts of...

In Wampum 9 it states that powers are vested in the elder brothers and younger brothers. All the

Oneida and Cayuga [Chief Statesmen, who later added the Tuscarora, thus the Confederacy
became the Six Nations]. In contrast, Article 1 of the Legislative department Section I. Congress
states that the powers are vested in senate and house. All legislative powers herein granted shall be
vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of

Hydrogen Powered Vs Electric Powered Vehicles
Hydrogen Powered Versus Electric Powered Vehicles The human race is in the midst of an
energy crisis. The gasoline used around the world is currently a non renewable resource. As the
title suggests, the gasoline will eventually be totally consumed in part by the gas guzzling
vehicles common today. For this reason, scientists have spent decades researching and
developing alternative sources of fuel in order to power daily life on Earth for many years to
come. There is a wide array of renewable fuel sources in use presently. These alternatives vary in
efficiency, affordability, and many other aspects. Hydrogen powered and electric powered vehicles
are two comparable alternatives that have increased in popularity and functionality in recent years
and will continue to do so in the near future (10 Reasons, 2015).
History
Hydrogen powered vehicles initially became a reality with the invention of the first internal
combustion engine in 1806. The engine was powered by a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen
gases. This led to the first hydrogen powered car in 1908. Hydrogen powered vehicles were
further advanced in 1935 with Henry Garrett s electrolytic carburetor which allowed the cars to
run on tap water. In the 1970 s, Archie Blue created and patented a new carburetor that produced
enough H2 (hydrogen) gas to power a car motor (History of Hydrogen, n.d.). Today, most
commercial hydrogen vehicles use fuel cells to power their engines. Electric powered vehicles had

The Stereotypes Of Homosexuality In Film
While many believe that homosexuality has only been seen in mainstream media for only a few
decades, it has actually been with America cinema since the early 1920 s. The portrayal of
homosexuality in film and TV has come a very long way since the 1920 s. What viewers see on
TV about homosexuality is really just a representation of America s changing public view on the
subject. While we have come to accept the topic of homosexualityin American society more
willingly, we have substituted much of our prejudice about gays with the stereotypes that we see
on TV constantly. Because as a society we are constantly forced to see these stereotypes, we are
being halted in our progression to accept all different kinds of lifestyles. When film was... Show

In the early fifties, lesbians were also being attacked by the film industry, portraying them as
bulldykes and troublesome neurotics. While the Hollywood was struggling to make topic of
homosexuality in films more suitable for audiences, the film Victim made its debut in the
United Kingdom. This was the first film to star a homosexual character that stands up to fight
against the oppression of homosexuals. While this was the first time in history that a film
portrayed a gay character in a non demeaning way, this would lead to the stereotype of
sympathetic gay characters in film. One film that I would like to note that is a great example
from the 90 s would be the film Philadelphia, starring Tom Hanks as a gay AIDS victim that was
fired because of his sexuality and disease. Hollywood targets Hanks character and makes him
into a tragic figure. His character dies at the end of the film. In an interview with Jan Oxenberg,
she points out that even though Tom Hanks film was very effective, it is just a story about a gay
hero who dies, who s a tragic figure and that it seems as if Hollywood and the film industry will
never have a film in which the gay main character lives to see another day (Epstein). Another more
recent film that demonstrates this sort of sympathetic gay character would be

Sherman Argumentative Essay
After a hot bath the next morning, Sherman went to the Robe Cleaning and Repair
Shop. He asked the big angel to repair the huge hole left by that silly dog. Then he went to the
Map Store so he could to plan their next trip to Earth. He called Mugsie and Topsie together.
Since we have so many places left to search for Peewee s home and so little time, let s
split them up and fly to each place alone. We can t search every city, but we can make a list
and fly to a lot of them.
Okay with us, chimed Mugsie and Topsie.
Well, said Sherman, when you look at a globe of Earth, you see lots of water and
seven big pieces of land called con ti nents. Even Sherman had trouble with that word. We re

She pulled out her map one more time. Wow. Three more countries. That s lots of

Just then, Mugise phoned. I m finished with my continent. Need any help ?
Yes! Italy and Germany. That gives me time to fly back north to Ireland.
Hours later, when Topsie landed in Ireland, she thoughtit was the greenest country she
had ever seen. Fields of grass everywhere! Peewee would love this. She looked in window
after window. Everyone with a pet had a dog. No cat owners except for a few old ladies.
After awhile, she flew to another part of Ireland, one with caves. They dotted the
shoreline near a lovely sea. Suddenly, Topsie heard a whisper from inside one of them.
Psst. Psst.
Topsie whirled around and saw a tiny man dressed in green. She knew at once that he
was a leprechaun. Sherman had told her they were not real at all. But there he was in front of
her!
Hi, said Topsie. Did you want something?
The leprechaun giggled. Bet you can t catch me, he said. If you do, you ll get a pot of
gold.

10 Amazing Facts About Super Horse Secretariat
Often referred to as the greatest racehorse that ever lived, in 1973, Secretariat broke track records
in all three legs of the Triple Crown that remain unbroken 45 years later. Since 1919, in the past 99
years, there have only been twelve horses to win the Triple Crown, including three after Secretariat,
but his records still stand. In June 1973, Secretariat, a huge chestnut colored thoroughbred, graced
the cover of Time, Newsweek and Sports Illustrated all at the same time, something that had not
happened before and has not happened again since. (1)

Crown, has been called the greatest horse ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gentle Giant: Secretariat was a stunning red thoroughbred standing 5 6 at the shoulder, weighing
1,199 lbs with a miraculous stride of 24 feet 11 that created an angle of 110 degrees between his
fully extended legs and his body. Those who knew him described as intelligent and kind. (1)
4. Backseat Passenger: Ron Turcotte was Secretariat s jockey in all 3 Triple Crown races and
agreed with others had said that Secretariat knew his purpose was and had his own ideas about
running a race. Turcotte was criticized by people in the stands at one early point in the Belmont,
who said he seemed to be guiding Secretariat to an unsafe move, but after winning the Belmont,
Turcotte said that he was just a backseat passenger , and that Secretariat made his own choices. (5)
3. Tragedy Strikes: Ron Turcotte was a very successful Canadian jockey who won a total of 3,032
races before tragedy in 1978 when a fall from a horse resulted in his becoming paraplegic. (6)
2. Final Race: Secretariat won the last race of his career in October 1973 defeating Canada s Horse
of the Year, by over 6 lengths. He was then retired as a three year old stud that sired 600 foals,
none of which ever achieved their father s potential.

Assignment (Task) Task D Report Early identification of speech, language or communication delay is important for a child or young persons well being. All practitioners have a responsibility to identify children s needs and intervene with appropriate support as early as possible, to help children achieve the goals of Every Child Matters and progress towards the Early Learning Goals. The importance of early language and communication skills for children s later achievements is now well documented and the need to provide support for children at this early stage is so that they can achieve their full potential. This means recognising a child s difficulty quickly: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As most of a child s communication happens at home it is vital that close links are made between professionals and family members/carers and to look at ways of supporting the child or young person at home. If a child or young person needs more than the support of the school environment, then a multi agency team will be involved. This would involve the child s teacher, teaching assistant, the school SENCO, qualified and experienced professionals, for example Speech and Language Therapists and most importantly parents. This might be through a recognized programme such as the Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme, Language through Reading or Social Use of Language Programme, or through a combination of approaches tailored to suit the individual child or young person. A child or young person with speech, language and communication delay will usually have a Multi Element Plan (M.E.P.). If they do not seem to be making enough progress or they need a lot of extra help the school SENCO will contact the Local Authority and ask them to carry out a statutory assessment. This is only usually required for children who have the most significant and long term special educational needs which require a very detailed assessment. It can be a long process and both the school and parents are involved. If a statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) is issued, this will take ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Management, Organizational Behavior, And The Systems Theory Management Techniques Management has transformed immensely throughout the years as civilization has progressed and acquired more knowledge about how to manage the workforce effectively. The first approaches to management were effective at first but failed to make a long lasting stay in the management world as times changed. It appears that all early tactics often met only one area of the business needs while neglecting the others. It can be hard to find the right balance and then maintain that balance but contemporary approaches to management aim to do just that. The sociotechnical theory, quantitative management, organizational behavior, and the systems theory all work in different ways to maintain a sort of balance within the businesses internal, competitive and macroenviroments. Keeping all areas of the open system balanced is essential for any manager to have a successful business. The sociotechnical theory was developed in the early 1950 s and was designed to refine the social environment of the workplace to fit the needs of the company. Basically, the purpose of this theory was to make sure the employees had the tools and knowledge they needed to effectively create goods and services for the customers (Bateman, 2013). Unlike the human focus the sociotechnical theory has, the quantitative management pays more attention to numbers. This type of management focuses on creating and utilizing tools to keep track of all the inventory, profit, marketing, and other technical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When determining whether a card is good or not, I often look at just the good parts of the effect and not the drawbacks. For example, there is a card called Card of Demise. This card allows you to draw until you have 3 cards in your hand, but you cannot do damage to your opponent for the rest of the turn, you send your entire hand to the Graveyard during the End Phase, and you cannot Special Summon during the turn you activate this card. Northern Abolitionist Movement Dbq Essay Moshe Fogelman DBQ 2 C Starting with the Atlantic slave trade in Jamestown, Virginia, in 1619, in which slaves were brutally transported in the middle passage from Africa to America, slavery had an important role in the American economy, but differed in volume by region. However, as the colonies declared their independence in 1776, a gradual anti slavery movement began in the North as many formed negative opinions about the Southern Peculiar Institution of a slavery based economy. • 11. The Awakening, By Kate Chopin Fate is a highly questionable topic when it comes to how people live their lives. Many people can t comprehend giving their life up to chance, but many believe it to be the best way to live. Fate is the destined path given to each person to implement throughout their lifetime. It can t be stopped, or reasoned with, merely accepted. Many characters struggle with idea of fate in The Awakening, but nobody accepts fate more than Edna. In Kate Chopin s novel The Awakening, fate is used as an irrepressible force that manipulates Edna in order to give her a better life. For Edna, her fate seemed to have left much to be desired in the beginning of the novel. She is left, lamenting at Fate, which had directed her footsteps to the path which they had taken, (Chopin 8). By using fate as a proper noun, Chopin gives it an identity. Edna s life was seized by fate and she is feeling grief about the direction her life has been taken. She s blames fate for the choices she made as a young woman, and now Edna is regretting it. She was a grown young woman when she was overtaken by what she supposed to be the climax of her fate, (Chopin 18). She is young, but yet fate seems to have cursed her with a mediocre life, that has no sign of changing. Early in the novel Edna couldn t see her routine life changing, but Chopin alluded to it in this quote. She supposed nothing greater would become of her fate, but reading closely would reveal the unstoppable and ever evolving will of fate. However, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Today, our society has created a foster care system taking children and putting them in better homes until reunited with biological parents or adopted. This system has become so elaborate that it s not uncommon for the average person to know someone who was in foster careor who was adopted. For this reason, adoptionand fostering are terms that have become very commonplace in our society today. However, consider the following four examples, unique each in their own right, and yet all profoundly changed by a simple openness to life. The following experiences are examples of the truly life changing effect fostering and adoption can have on all the families involved. In the United States alone, there are over 427,910 children in foster care within the last two years, and more and more are put in each day. Why Is Animal Testing Wrong Human s have made innumerable advancements in the world we live in however in doing so, the progression of ethical and moral decisions made upon animal testing and vivisection have failed to strive simultaneously. In this paper I will affirm with the central claim that it is wrong to cause unnecessary sufferingought to be extended to the practice of vivisection. Innocent animals should not be put through these harsh environments of inflicted pain for the sake of a slight potential gain in humanliving. I believe this because these animals cannot represent themselves and vocalize their willful consent in the practice and will not be able to comprehend the pain and suffering caused during testing periods. The most common objection proposed to this claim however, would be the explained rationale behind why this form of testing occurs and the benefits it has shown in enhancing human and non human existence. • 19. Suffering In Cormac Mccarthy s Blood Meridian There is a horde of explanations pertaining to the epilogue of Blood Meridian. The short passage has sparked ideas of the idealistic human nature of suffering, the search for enlightenment through Gnosticism, and the subtle persuasion that lies beneath eloquent language, both in Judge Holden s claims and Cormac McCarthys narration. It is important, before delving into these ideas, that the passage is recounted. In the dawn there is a man progressing over the plain by means of holes that he is making in the ground. He has no desire to alleviate human suffering, or to intervene in humanity s slow self destruction; he only watches. McCarthy uses these ideas as a platform for the bizarre atmosphere of the West, calling into question why a creator in favor of humanity would create a place so desolate and violent. The man in the epilogue is described as striking the fire out of the rock which God has put there, suggesting that he is a pneumatic (Someone who understands the true state of the cosmos and the nature of the nameless Alien God ) who frees the sparks of the divine fire trapped in matter or rock by the God of this world, the demiurge. Within the context of Gnosticism, the steel of the man s tool causes sparks as he digs; each hole dispersing these sparks into the cosmos and restoring unity to the Alien God. This difficult process is one of salvation, and the pneumatics task is a long and ongoing one, as each spark that dies without escaping to the alien God is thrown back into its realm, and thus they all move on again like clockwork, presumably until the last bit of fire has been freed from the rocks. In this framework, those who have not attained spiritual enlightenment follow the man and the holes he s making. Those who search for bones are followers of religions that claim that all will be revealed in the afterlife. These wanderers look to the empty promise of death for salvation, not realizing that without Gnosis (Gnostic enlightenment) they will be flung back into the manifest world, life after life. The ones who do not search are the materialists, content with the achievement of wealth and power, who are even less awakened to Gnosis than those who search for answers in bones. Is there a substantive difference between the patriotism of totalitarian and liberal countries? Do the soldiers in those countries experience patriotism differently? In this paper, I will attempt to affirm the moral worth of patriotism, find the exact differences between totalitarian and liberal patriotism, and determine how this difference might manifest itself within the citizens of either country. Our paper structure will begin with using a common definition of patriotism, and will make an initial attempt to argue for a difference between liberal and totalitarian instances of patriotism. When this attempt fails, we will more clearly and carefully define patriotism, and explore the challenges in assessing its moral worth. Then, after a re conception of patriotism, we will return to the question of patriotic differences between totalitarian and liberal governments. This disease damages a person s immune system making it easier to get sick. HIV is transmitted through semen, vaginal fluids, blood, and breast milk. HIV works by attacking the T cell in the human body. There is no cure for this disease, but early detection is important for treatment. Once a person is diagnosed with HIVthey will always have it. This is a very devastating disease and it is preventable. Synopsis of film I chose to watch the movie And the Band Played On. This movie took a look into the first years of when they discovered HIV/AIDS. The movie starts out with two doctors over in Africa trying to contain the Ebola disease before it spread to other parts of the country. They burned the bodies to prevent the disease from spreading more. As the movie continues it starts case by case of each patient infected with HIV. The doctors are baffled by the lab values showing that the patients have no T cell count. Nevertheless, the CDC starts getting involved because they know that it is occurring among the homosexual men and the numbers keep rising. They started interviewing homosexual men and searching gay community places to understand how it was spreading. They found poppers that could be a possible cause but all the tests that they ran on them came back with no possible reasoning that it s causing this disease. The doctors began looking into ... In the following paper I will be discussing what series of actions brought me to write this paper, the army regulations surrounding said actions, the possible effects these actions might have on the accomplishment of the mission, the possible affects on your career, and how to discourage and possibly stop such things from ever happening soon or ever again. The reason I am being subject to this time consuming, uninspired, and rather lackluster writing assignment is because I failed to be at the correct place of duty at the time appointed to me by my superiors. The commanding officer could be as lenient as letting you go with a stern yet fair warning and talking, you may find yourself picking up trash after work and during the weekends for anything between the parameters of seven to forty five days of extra duty. You may also suffer from the economical side of the house because they may decide to go ahead and cut your monthly pay in half for two whole months back to back. Last of the outcomes named here but the one that I personally believe to be the worst is the loss of rank. The can take one or all of the them depending on the severity of the cause being presented to the commanding officer. Rank is the thing that takes the most time to achieve the first time around coming up the ranks, to lose it after you have it makes it harder for you to be seeing as a professional and a soldier that is worth pushing forward to achieve to the next step in his career. Next we will discuss in this paper the impact such actions can have getting the mission finished, moral and appearance of the company or organization, and the direct impact it can have on the people you work closely with. For example, both Ruth and Fredrick take turns on who takes the melody of the song depending on who is dominant at certain points of the song. There were also times were Ruth was in more of the background which was used to create a different melody. They also used rhythms that are known throughout the song. High Fidelity and Music Essay High Fidelity and Music In High Fidelity, Rob, the protagonist and narrator, says I find myself worrying away at that stuff about pop music again, whether I like it because I m unhappy, or whether I m unhappy because I like it (168). It is obvious to the reader that Rob has a very strong relationship to pop music but also that this relationship is not as simple as the either or dichotomy he describes it as. At first, it is an obsession that is almost pathological; by the end, it is an aid to his relationships and his idea of who he is. It is as if he is saying here, this is me; this is who I am so if the woman likes the tape, that means she likes him, which would mean she is condoning who he is, which in turn would cause him to weave the music that got this approval even more closely into his sense of self. Thus Rob is defined by music and women he dates rather than through his own eyes. One gets a better idea of this when Rob and Laura are arguing and Laura says she doesn t like music as much as she used to. Rob says, But you see... That s all there is of me. There isn t anything else. If you ve lost interest in that, you ve lost interest in everything. What s the point of us? (265). Here Rob is basically admitting that he is using Laura to condone a definition of himself that has been created by, that entirely consists of, music. If she can t do that anymore, there is no point of the relationship. Another example of this is when Rob wants to sleep with Marie. The pathological aspect of this is that part of the reason he is attracted to her is that he has always wanted to sleep with a musician. This would be like circumventing the process of defining himself with music and then getting a woman to condone this definition and just getting a definition and an approval from the same source. To enhance this product a mobile application will also be created. This application will be a free application, which charges a fee per transaction. It was determined that a credit card reader and mobile application would be a good fit for CPCU by researching the current options, the Canadian market, and if there is a need. First, the most known credit card reader was looked at. This would be Square and it currently operates in Canada, Japan, Australia, and United States (Square Office Locations, n.d.). According to Cocotas (2012) in 2012, Square revealed that it was processing payments totaling roughly $11 million a day, a $2 billion increase from the previous year. Parable of the Talents Beginning in the 12th century, in the middle of the Medieval Ages, just centuries after the fall of the greatest empire of classical history, the Roman Empire. In his defense of Modern Patriotism, Stephen Nathanson addresses the hesitation that people face when forced to adopt or reject the patriot label. Social Process Theory claims crimeresults from failure of self direction, from inadequate social roles, or from associating with others who are already criminals (Schmalleger, 2015, p. 103). Another theory is Conflict theory, Schmalleger (2015) states that according to conflict theory crime is a natural consequence of social, political, and economic inequities (p. 77). Another approach to crime causation is the Sociological theories which argue the individual is a product of his or her environment (Schmalleger, 2015, p. 103). Conflict theories are based on the belief that conflict among groups is unavoidable. According to Schmalleger (2015), conflict theorists highlight the stress that arise among a social group as they compete for resources and survival (p. 99). He points out the insignificant effect that tying the U.S. dollar to gold had on inflation, and uses phrases from the Constitution to support the implementation of the gold standard. • 45. Differences Between Iroquois Constitution And Us Constitution The Iroquois and United States constitutions have very analogous ideas, but also have very distinct differences as well. The Great Law of Peace (Iroquois constitution) dates back from the fifteenth century and were created by the Iroquois confederacy. Columbus didn t arrive in America until 1492 and even then it took them a long period of time to establish themselves in the new country. Meaning the Iroquois constitutioninitially came to existence before the United Statesconstitution came into place. When the founding fathers of America wrote the constitution they had to base their constitution on something because of the fact that they were a new nation being born and needed a sense of guidance. So they base certain ideas from their native country, Mother England and also borne ideas from the Iroquois constitution and as well implemented new concepts of... • 46. Hydrogen Powered Vs Electric Powered Vehicles Hydrogen Powered Versus Electric Powered Vehicles The human race is in the midst of an energy crisis. The gasoline used around the world is currently a non renewable resource. As the title suggests, the gasoline will eventually be totally consumed in part by the gas guzzling vehicles common today. For this reason, scientists have spent decades researching and developing alternative sources of fuel in order to power daily life on Earth for many years to come. There is a wide array of renewable fuel sources in use presently. These alternatives vary in efficiency, affordability, and many other aspects. Hydrogen powered and electric powered vehicles are two comparable alternatives that have increased in popularity and functionality in recent years and will continue to do so in the near future (10 Reasons, 2015). History Hydrogen powered vehicles initially became a reality with the invention of the first internal combustion engine in 1806. The engine was powered by a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen gases. This led to the first hydrogen powered car in 1908. Hydrogen powered vehicles were further advanced in 1935 with Henry Garrett s electrolytic carburetor which allowed the cars to run on tap water. In the 1970 s, Archie Blue created and patented a new carburetor that produced enough H2 (hydrogen) gas to power a car motor (History of Hydrogen, n.d.). Today, most commercial hydrogen vehicles use fuel cells to power their engines. Electric powered vehicles had a slightly later ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. The Stereotypes Of Homosexuality In Film While many believe that homosexuality has only been seen in mainstream media for only a few decades, it has actually been with America cinema since the early 1920 s. The portrayal of homosexuality in film and TV has come a very long way since the 1920 s. What viewers see on TV about homosexuality is really just a representation of America s changing public view on the subject. While we have come to accept the topic of homosexualityin American society more willingly, we have substituted much of our prejudice about gays with the stereotypes that we see on TV constantly. Because as a society we are constantly forced to see these stereotypes, we are being halted in our progression to accept all different kinds of lifestyles. When film was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the early fifties, lesbians were also being attacked by the film industry, portraying them as bulldykes and troublesome neurotics. While the Hollywood was struggling to make topic of homosexuality in films more suitable for audiences, the film Victim made its debut in the United Kingdom. This was the first film to star a homosexual character that stands up to fight against the oppression of homosexuals. While this was the first time in history that a film portrayed a gay character in a non demeaning way, this would lead to the stereotype of sympathetic gay characters in film. One film that I would like to note that is a great example from the 90 s would be the film Philadelphia, starring Tom Hanks as a gay AIDS victim that was fired because of his sexuality and disease. Hollywood targets Hanks character and makes him into a tragic figure. His character dies at the end of the film. In an interview with Jan Oxenberg, she points out that even though Tom Hanks film was very effective, it is just a story about a gay hero who dies, who s a tragic figure and that it seems as if Hollywood and the film industry will never have a film in which the gay main character lives to see another day (Epstein). Another more recent film that demonstrates this sort of sympathetic gay character would be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
