He is a tall skinny, brown hair and eyed man. Michael is 24 and decided he doesn t want kids because
he wants to live his life free. Michael gets all his equipment ready and drives to the mountains. As
Michael approaches the trail he sees detectives investigating a case. He drives up and rolls down his
window slowly.
What happened here? asked Michael questionably. Someone got murdered, I would appreciate it if
you would not enter the trail. said detective Andy.
So then Michael drives off to the back side of the entry for the trail.

Here I have evidence Detective Andy is a killer!
Whoa. sighed all the cops.
We can t do anything sorry. said the second Detective.
Then Michael ran to his car and back to the cabin in the woods. Michael ran back into the woods and
found the cabin once again. He searched and searched for Andy but it didn t seem he was there.

Enterprise Resource Planning ( Erp ) Systems Attempt
Introduction
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems attempt to combine data and processes in organizations.
The data is centralized as a single database. This database functions as a hub that stores, shares, and
circulates data from within the different organizational units and business functions. ERP systems are
one of the most adopted information technology (IT) solutions in organizations. Besides the possible
cost savings, one of the main drivers for an ERP adoption would be the technical and operation
integration of business functions to complement the information stream with the material flow of
goods or services. In order for the management and employees to utilize the use of the competitive
capabilities of ERP systems, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Study On Sediment Properties
Sediment properties were measured from three surface scrapes of sediment taken at each quadrat in
Essex and Morecambe. These sediment scrapes were frozen at 20°C for subsequent analysis. In the
laboratory, 5g of the sediment was air dried, gently crushed and passed through a 2mm sieve. Particle
size distribution of the 2 mm fraction was undertaken following Malvern Mastersizer protocol (v1.3)
(http://www.geog.cam.ac.uk/facilities/laboratories/techniques/psd.html) at the University of
Cambridge. Only one sample was taken at each of the Northern Irish sites, when this was not possible,
the Agri Food and Biosciences Institute, supplied data on sediment particle sizes. Comparative particle
size distribution indices (Logarithmic mean, standard deviation, kurtosis and skew) were calculated
according to Folk and Ward (1957) and analysed using GRADISTAT software (Folk Ward, 1957; Blott
Pye, 2001).
Particle size distribution was recorded at the site level for the Northern Irish sites, but was highly
resolved for Essex and Morecambe (three replicates per quadrat within each sites), requiring us to
standardise the data across locations. To do so, we first tested for significant differences between the
three replicate samples taken at each quadrat within each site, and upon finding no significant
differences, pooled replicates giving a quadrat mean. We then tested for significant differences in
sediment properties within each pooled quadrat at each site, which were not

Modern day marathon is participated by runners in thousands, that came from all walks of life,
different experience level and from different parts of the globe. Some are born to run a marathon, but
most just started by taking small stride and training for their first run.

Theoretical Foundations Of Advanced Nursing
Pain Concept
Britton Lerch
Due Date: September 15, 2015
Kaplan University
MN502: Theoretical Foundations of Advanced Nursing
Dr. Phelps Introduction
Concepts are ideas that can assist nurses with understanding various situations. This enables
researchers seeking scientific theories in order to identify and measure theory components. It is best to
have clear concepts in order to prevent misunderstandings. Confusion can hinder patient s knowledge
when providing patient education. Poor communication can lead to unintentional non compliance and
delay recovery processes (Stewart, Schofield, Elliott, Torrance, Leveille, 2014).
Pain
Young, old, male, female, we all feel degrees of pain for a variety of reasons. Pain is real and it is
different for everyone. Pain can hold a magnitude of negative effects for all. Medication and non
medication interventions are approaches that can lessen pain. To understand pain, and how to manage
pain, one should explore the true concept of pain.
Pain can refer to an emotional, psychological, or spiritual state; also, pain may result from a physical
condition. The purpose of this paper is to study the concept of pain and to comprehend the
pathophysiology of physical pain. Physical pain can be acute or chronic, mild or severe, dull or sharp,
and in a precise location or referred (Mosby s Dictionary of Medicine, Nursing Health Professions,
2006). Through understanding this concept, nurses can initiate interventions that will ease the

The Motif of Poverty Throughout Crime and Punishment by...
Poverty is an essential motif in Crime and Punishment that enables characters to expose their isolation
from society. Raskolnikov demonstrates the true effect that poverty can have on an unemployed man
in the 1860s. Razumikhin is seen as Raskolnikov s foil character that reacts to his form of poverty in
the opposite way of Raskolnikov towards society. The weight of being desperately pour effects
Marmeledov to extensive lengths that ultimately ends in his death.
Crime and Punishment revolves around Raskolnikov and his amplifying guilt after he murders the
pawnbroker, Alyona. From the beginning of the novel his poverty is displayed in his living condition,
which is further described by the yellowish dusty wall paper peeling off the ... Show more content on

It shall not be, so long as I am alive, it shall not, it shall not! I won t accept it! (Part 1. 4.). Raskolnikov
begins to alienate himself from his ex colleague, Razumikhin, although at points it is Razumikhin who
supports Raskolnikov the most. It forces Razumikhin to replace Raskolnikov in situations that should
have been left to his authority. In a situation where Raskolnikov should have reassured Dounia and
Pulcheria of their safety he waved his hand weakly to Razumikhin to cut short the flow of warm and
incoherent consolations he was addressing to his mother and sister (Part 3. 1). As Raskolnikov began
to slowly move away from any form of comfortable socialization and a growing poverty situation, his
stubbornness to contain his pride and dignity eventually builds up to the brutal murder of Alyona.
Razumikhin is in a similar financial situation as Raskolnikov. Razumikhin foils Raskolnikov in his
response to a desperate situation such as struggling poverty. He faced his struggles with a trial and
error personality. His view stood that you never reach any truth without making fourteen mistakes and
very likely a hundred and fourteen (Part 3. 1). It was in these positive outlooks that make Raskolnikov
realize how intense his isolation was becoming.

Informative Essay On Fake News
Bogus News
Everyone is tuned into the news because sometimes it has information the society needs to know. The
reason I say sometimes must do with the fact that not all news is trustworthy. Fake news is seen very
often and can be misinterpreted by many people. Well, what is fake news? I believe fake news is
information that is false and just out there to get attention to it. Behind fake news comes fake ideas,
most people s opinions on social media, and false predictions or sayings. Nowadays, anything could
be considered as news but I think it s important to identify the real news from the fake ones. That way
whatever anyone hears or sees will be reliable.
According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Tan says, Fake ideas are more subtly dangerous than fake
facts. I agree with this statement because facts are facts and ideas can be changed several times. When
it comes to ideas, good or bad, some go beyond our expectations that we question ourselves, Will it
happen? or Will it work? . Anyone can come up with an idea and expose what they created to the
whole world. The Philippine Daily Inquirer states, ... they exaggerate an idea and twist its logic
beyond recognition. In fake news any nonsense is shown and said but, the public can t distinguish was
it true and what is false. If the news is about political issues or relates to something about the
government, it should be accurate. The article Real Confusion about Fake News, Kappan explains, At
present, we worry that

Flamingo Observation
ABSTRACT On September 6th, 2017 period 6 and 8 of research and experimental science went to
Miami Zoo to observe the flamingo exhibit. The flamingos were watched for about 40 minutes all
together. After gathering the data of the flamingos behavior, the information was processed into two
different charts called followed by table and transition frequency table and then turned into a
kinematic diagram. The diagram shows the transition frequency of how many times the flamingo that
was studied produced a behavior after another behavior.
INTRODUCTION
The bird that was watched to gather the data was the flamingo (phoenicopterus), a type of wading
bird. At Miami Zoo they have American flamingos (phoenicopterus ruber) . American flamingos are
normally 3 feet and 6 inches. Their wings have bright pink and white feathers and beneath they have a
black coloring, and their beaks match the rest of their body being white, pink, and black. Compared to
the rest of the flamingos they are the tallest.
When we went to Miami Zoo, we watched the flamingos to collect data on their behavior. Five
behavioral patterns were chosen and carefully examined throughout the watch time. A total of 83
behavioral patterns were recorded on flamingo number 25. Everything was then put in several charts
to be made into a kinematic diagram. We did this to analyze the behavior of flamingos in a certain
time frame.

At 11:30, we watched the flamingos to choose the five most common behavioral

Review Of Reconstruction And The Ride
Reconstruction and The Ride Media Journal by Nicholas Janković 8/10/14
In March 2008 and April 2012, the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) released robust television
advertisements which investigated the welfare of motorcyclists on Australian roads. The directors of
these advertisements are stressing for motorcyclists to ride at the appropriate speed limit in order to
decrease the risks of a collision and to be aware of their vulnerability and the risks they face every
time they ride on the road. The directors also express the concern at the fact that some riders aren t
wearing the protective clothing while riding. The TAC addresses it perfectly fair that motorcyclists are
permitted to obey the speed limit. TAC also make it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This numerical data shows that 17% of the road toll in 2013 were caused by motorcycle collisions. As
promoted in the television advertisements, motorcycles are urged to decrease their speed. In 2013,
43% of motorcycle deaths occurred due to the driver exceeding the legal speed limit. Motorcyclists
are encouraged to reduce their travel speed by 5km per hour in order to reduce road trauma. Speeding
over a minor amount of speed of 5km per hour, can still determine the difference between a close call
and a serious accident.
These advertisement adopt a cautious and fearful tone when outlining the welfare of motorcyclists on
our roads. The aim of the advertisement is to increase the welfare of motorcyclists. The strong opinion
enforced by the directors, convinces a broad number of Australian motorcyclists that lowering their
travel speed can be the difference between life and death. Motorcyclists become aware of the fact that
obeying the legal speed limit is absolutely essential for their own welfare. In the advertisement The
Ride , riders aren t wearing the appropriate clothing needed when operating a motorcycle. Motorcycle
clothing manufactures will want to act immediately and decisively in order to advertise their products
to encourage those customers to purchase appropriate protective gear. The demand for motorcycle
clothing is a benefit for those manufactures as sales for protective gear are likely to increase.
The Reconstruction advertisement has placed a

Essay Father and Son
Father and Son Just whom is Edmund Gosse s Father and Son written for? Is it for the Father, or for
the Son, or, as Edmund Gosse tells us, for the public, so they can have a record of life in a rigidly
religious family? Edmund begins his book by telling you that it is a historical record, an important
chronicle that is to be used, basically as a reference for a period of time. Yet, in the first sentence of
the first chapter, we can see that this is truly not his purpose. The first words on the page does not
reference a historical event; they are, instead, cathartic. Edmund tries very hard to convince his reader
that this is not an autobiography (217). Try as he might, he did not persuade me.
I will grant that for Edmund ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is not the only narcissistic angle of the book. Even when reiterating episodes in the life of the
Gosse s he does it in reference to himself. If this were to chronicle two temperaments, two
consciences....two epochs there would be more than one perspective. Do we once hear of Philip Gosse
s reactions or feelings about his wife dying? We do not, we merely get the reactions of what he does
from his son. Do we know what he thought those nights alone without his wife? No, we do not.
Edmund did not take the time to find out. He even apologizes when he said, Had I been older and
more intelligent, of course, it might have been him, and not of myself that I should have been
thinking. Yet, still thinking of himself, he states, This is not to be dwelt on here. Of course it isn t
Edmund, it is an autobiography, it is about you.
Edmund, we know would argue that. He tries to take the spotlight off of himself. Being the type of
person that he is, the always goes back to talking about himself. In the last numerical chapter of the
book, Edmund tells of an apocalyptic event, a noteworthy action worthy of ending a book on...his
transcendence into heaven. His epiphany is quickly grounded by reality. Nothing happens. His ego is
shattered. HIS ego, Edmund s ego. This catalytic event puts an emotional and spiritual division
between father and son that puts the thick o the world between them. Although in the Epilogue
Edmund is apologetic

The Roman Catholic Church s Influence And Governance Over...
This essay will identify and examine the significance of the Roman Catholic Church s influence and
governance over Europe throughout the Middle Ages. For the purposes of this essay, the Middle Ages
refers to the period between the Conversion of Constantine in 313CE and the onset of the Renaissance
Period during the early 14th century. In addition, this essay will examine and account for change in the
institution and theology of the Roman Catholic Church. It will identify the nature and importance of
continuity and the diversity of causes and outcomes of the Church s influence through a range of
historical perspectives. Since the conversion of Constantine in 313CE, Christianity transformed from a
persecuted, unorganized group of believers into a hierarchical, European dominating institution over
the course of the Middle Ages. Developing alongside the changing political environment of post
Roman Europe, the Roman Catholic Church became the single most dominant institution in medieval
life, its influence pervading almost every aspect of people s lives. Catholicism influenced the calendar,
significant events and rituals such as baptism, confirmation, marriage and penance, and mainstream
spiritual and ethical beliefs. Most people were fully convinced of the validity of the church s teachings
and believed that only the faithful would avoid hell and gain eternal salvation in heaven. By the
Norman Conquest of England in 1066CE, Christianity had conquered the totality of Europe.

My First Semester Of English
Throughout my first semester of English in college I have gained a significant amount of knowledge
in writing. Each writing assignment encouraged me to use and try new approaches to writing. They
also encouraged me to a take my writings a step further than the previous papers I have written before.
My writing is more academic and formal rather than casual and informal. I have taken the tools that I
have learned throughout the semester and articulated those tools into each writing project. With many
hours of dedication to my papers as a whole, the time that I spent was a time for learning and
advancing the skills and tools I already had from high school.
I was surprised that the papers were not 12 pages as some previous teachers said that was what I was
going to be walking into. Although, 6 pages is still a lot for me, I felt most of the writing projects were
easy to reach the page requirement as they were interesting and fun topics.
Out of the four writing projects that we did, writing project three, the informative and surprising essay,
is the one that challenge me the most. It was a good challenge as I was determined to answer the How
and why is this important to society? question. That question was hard for me to answer but will help
from my peers and learning through class activities I was able to understand and answer the Why and
how? question. Before that paper, I have never had to relate my research to society and write about it.

What Foreign Aid Is Essay
What Foreign Aid Is
There are two words that many politicians like to shy away from, and those two words are, foreign
aid. Taking a firm stand on either side of this topic is usually side stepped by decision makers. Their
opinions are usually based on a case by case analysis. This extremely controversial topic involves
whether or not to support the policy of foreign aid to needy or sometimes not so needy countries.
What benefits does foreign aid have for the countries that receive it, and does it have any benefits for
the countries who give? Some may say that instead of spending money on foreign aid, money should
be spent on domestic aid.
Those who argue in favor of foreign aid say that it is an investment in the future of ... Show more

Some people would still be against this type of aid, and their argument would be that if money that
goes to Mexico was invested in helping small business get started, America would be less dependent
on other countries for their goods or services. In this case the nay sayers were proven wrong because
Mexico recently repaid the United States in full, plus interest, and a year in advance.
Another form of foreign aid is a certain amount of credit is given to the receiving country in order to
buy American made goods only. This form of aid not only helps the country in need, but it also pumps
money into the US economy. Still some may wonder why should we care about a country such as
Russia, to whom the U.S. has recently given aid to recently. The U.S. can t afford to have an ex
superpower unstable economically because of their nuclear capabilities. Because Russia is in the
unstable beginnings of a democracy the
U.S. wants to keep Russia on the right track. If that includes giving them aid in order to help feed their
people, then that is what the U.S must do. Because reinstatement of the old regime would result in
turmoil throughout the world.
After communism was overthrown in the former Soviet Union the world went through big changes.
There was no longer two world super powers, and all of a sudden a
40 year cold war ended. As stated the U.S. uses foreign aid as a tool to implement their political views
in other countries.

from my stomach slowly but surely it would be here. Then I heard the captain tell us to get into our
lines. I was second behind some guy from texas, he and his husband were here on vacation. I told him
that i was feeling really nauseous and that i would let him know if i was about to throw up. He gave
me just a slight nod. Then and there i felt it coming up, i was prepared and ready for it though. I

Junot Diaz Crash Short Story
Junot Diaz Drown universe is one filled with insecurities that disturbs the closest relationship that the
different characters find themselves in. One of the main issues explored, addressed in the stories Fiesta
1980 , Aurora , and Drown , is how do your own insecurities affect your attitude in your inter personal
relationships? In these stories, the consequences of personal insecurities of the character s
relationships include conjugal violence, denial of adultery and possible denial of sexual orientation.
The first story that analyses the question of personal baggage affecting romantic relationship is Fiesta,
1980 . From what I conclude, Mami s biggest fear is to be alone, to not even have the possibility of
getting attention from Papi. Consequently, this fear of being alone pushes her to accept unreasonable
actions coming from her husband ranging from intimidating their children in pursuing a relationship
with another woman behind her back. Diaz criticizes the dependency of immigrant wife s to their
husband. Furthermore, in her eyes, her family is her sanctuary, henceforth she is willing to sacrifice
her unhappiness to protect her refuge. Diaz writes, Picturing her alone wasn t easy. It seemed like Papi
had always been with her, even when we were waiting in Santa Domingo for him to send for us. (
Fiesta, 1980 , 41). Demonstrating how destructive your insecurities can be to the growth of a healthy
relationship. I believe Diaz s is using the idea of a picture to

Absorption
Alcohol is absorbed from all parts of the gastrointestinal tract largely by simple diffusion into the
blood. However the small intestine is by far the most efficient region of the gastrointestinal tract for
alcohol absorption because of its very large surface area. In a fasting individual, it is generally agreed
that 10% to 20% of a dose of alcohol is absorbed from the stomach (the volume of alcohol affects the
absorption) and 75% to 80% is absorbed from the small ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alcohol Content
It s not how many drinks that you have, but how much alcohol that you consume. The concentration
of the drinks that one ingest can have a slight effect on the peak alcohol concentration due to the
differences in absorption rate of different concentrations of alcohol. Alcohol is most rapidly absorbed
when the concentration of the drink is between 10% and 30%. Below 10% the concentration gradient
in the gastrointestinal tract is low and slows absorption and the added volumes of liquid involved slow
gastric emptying. On the other hand concentrations higher than 30% tend to irritate the mucous
membranes of the gastrointestinal tract and the pyloric sphincter, causing increased secretion of
mucous and delayed gastric emptying.
Food
Food taken along with alcohol results in a lower, delayed blood alcohol concentration peak (the point
of greatest intoxication). There are two major factors involved in this phenomenon.
First, because alcohol is absorbed most efficiently in the small intestine, the ingestion of food can
slow down the absorption of alcohol into one s system. The pyloric valve at the bottom of the stomach
will close in order to hold food in the stomach for digestion and thus keep the alcohol from reaching
the small intestine.

Apollo 13 Thesis
In the movie Apollo 13, Ron Howard experienced many challenges trying to recreate authenticity in
the Apollo 13 space mission s story, while still adding his own creative spin to the movie. In April
1970, National Aeronautic Space Agency (NASA) launched a spacecraft with three astronauts on
board this flight. During this mission, Apollo 13 experienced multiple issues, which caused the
mission to end earlier than expected. After 20 years had passed, Jim Lovell, one of the Apollo 13, and
Jeffrey Kluger wrote Lost Moon: The Perilous Voyage of Apollo 13, which chronicled this event in
NASA s lunar space history. Soon after its release, this book caught the eye of famous actor and soon
to be famous director Ron Howard, which caused him to adapt ... Show more content on

As editors of the movie, Mike Hill and Daniel Hanley were persistently tested in finding ways to
remain as true as possible to the historical event. One way that they did this was through keeping some
of the scenes consistent to the real timing of the events. In one scene, NASA s command center in
Houston, TX lost communication with the spacecraft for some time. As a crucial issue within this
account, Hill and Hanley wanted to keep this same timing in the movie, so they wanted to try to keep
the running time in the film pretty close to the time on the clock and not have radio silence lasting for
nine minutes or something (Apollo 13). Since long periods of silence is not always the best way to
keep an audience s attention, the editors had to find ways to keep the audience engaged while still
staying true to the real event, The whole sequence benefits from some great camera movement and
crane shots which, combined with James Horner s score and sound design by Steve Flick and Chic
Ciccolini, helped immensely to build the tension (Apollo 13). By using a certain sequences, and also
strong music, the editors were able to make this scene one of the most memorable images in the

Comparing Aengus And Shakespearce
People throughout the world have different problems they face everyday. Everyone has to have any
type of motivation in order to succeed. For example, Pearce from Call of the Klondike saw tonos of
miners carrying gold, so he and many other people set an adventure to the Klondike. While Aengus
was finding true love, Annie was trying to tend her family; these three people all shared a desire and
determination. First, Pearce had a desire he wanted in order to succeed his mission. In Call of the
Klondike, it says, Firemen, doctors, lawyers, ministers even the mayor of Seattle quit their jobs and
joined the rush (Pearce, par.4). This sentence means that when the miners brought back the gold,
everyone left to achieve fame and fortune. Another reason that Pearce motivation is desire because
people are willing to take extreme risks in search for fame or fortune. To summarize, sometimes
people need a desire in order to achieve something great. Although Pearce needed a desire, Annie
Johnson from New DIrections had determination for her to tend her family. In New DIrections, Annie
says, I looked up the road I was going and back the way I come, and since I wasn t satisfied, I decided
to step off the road and cut me a new path (Johnson, par. 3). What she is trying to say is that she ...

On The Roof Of The World By Sir Charles G. D. Roberts
1) I believe that there are many ways that the author has chosen to set up a man and animal as
competitors in the story On The Roof Of The World by Sir Charles G. D. Roberts.
One of the reasons that the author has set up a man and an animal as competitors is that unlike normal
circumstances where mankind is on top of the food chain, higher that every other living thing known.
In this short story, the man and the polar bear are on approximately the same level of the food chain.
As the bear is equipped with claws, the man evens himself out with the spear he had fashioned
himself. The author seems write this to portray his question of, is humankind more superior to other
living species when having to live in almost the exact same conditions in which the animals live in?
Another way it thinks that the author has set up a man and an animal as competitors is to show how
similar things a human would do like an animal if put in such a situation such as high winds,
predators, and a constant danger of frostbite, a human would only care about three things, food, shelter
and water like an animal. With the only source of food, a human would resort to savage ways so
similar to the ways of a polar bear as the story states, without an instant s hesitation the man hurled his
spear (p. 164) and when with a growl of rage, the bear tore it loose and charged upon the man (p. 164).
This shows that when a human is exposed to this type of environment, they would kill for food

How Does Soda Affect Our Teeth
People who drink 3 or more glasses of soda each day have 62% more tooth decay, fillings and tooth
loss than others. This means that soda has a huge effect on your teeth. We didn t always have a tooth
brush to keep our teeth clean. But now thanks to dental advancements we do. Teeth have been the
same way since the human race has started.even when it s unflavored, fizzy water contains an acid
carbonic acid that gives it its bubbles. That acidity can gradually wear away tooth enamel. Fizzy water
is also in soda meaning that the carbonation in the soda wears away the tooth enamel. The bacteria
contained in the plaque feeds on the sugar in foods you eat or drink. Acids are created in about 20
seconds and last for about 30 minutes. Those acids can

Analysis Of Maud A Monodrama By Alfred Lord Tennyson
Maud: A Monodrama is the lengthy poem that dominated the first collection published by Alfred, Lord
Tennyson after he became poet laureate. In its rich and romantic symbolism, it is characteristic of the
great poet s work. Notable, also, is its critique of the hypocrisy and other social failings of Victorian
Britain. Maud became one of the best known poems of the period, and continued to be influential even
after its style became dated.
!!!Tennyson and Maud
[{Image src= rossetti_tennysonmaud.jpg alt= Tennyson reading from Maud, 1855 }]
Alfred, Lord Tennyson was a favorite poet of generations. Made Poet Laureate of Great Britain by
Queen Victoria, he dominated the literary scene during his time. He also came for better and for worse
to represent that generation s taste, both during his life and after it. Tennyson s rich __Victorian
language__ can seem daunting to modern readers. In reading Maud , it s a good idea to just embrace
the exaggerated concepts. Experimental in style, laden with intense symbolism, and full of __social
criticism__, Maud was not a popular poem at first, despite its author s status. Tennyson himself was
proud of the work, and retaliated against criticism by reading it aloud whenever he could. Reportedly,
this won over many critics due to the beauty of the poem s language.
!!! Maud : A Summary
It s easy to just concentrate on the ornate language of Maud , but there s a lot of drama in the narrative
of the poem. There

Physics Of Kicking A Soccer Ball
The Physics of Kicking a Soccer Ball Alexander Trifu Physics 1000 Professor Terry Arnio Friday,
February 19, 2016 Introduction Soccer is the most prominent game on the planet. Soccer players all
work hard to stay as fit as possible and constantly train to enhance their skill. A large portion of
players don t consider the scientific concept of this amazing sport and the soccer ball itself. I inquired
about the material science of soccer and found some exceptionally fascinating truths that all soccer
players would do well to learn. The themes that I investigated are: What happens when kicking a
soccer ball Does size/weight matter when striking a ball. How a strong step follow through improves
your kick. How soccer players curl and bend a ball and the physics involved. I chose to investigate the
soccer ball because since a young boy soccer has been my obsession and favourite hobby. I also chose
it since I was very intrigued on how to apply scientific methodology to enhance my kicking ability.
What Happens When You Kick a Soccer Ball When you kick a soccer ball, numerous things occur.
The most important is the motion of your leg and the active (or development ) vitality into the ball.
Formula: KE  mv2 In this formula the active vitality breaks even with one portion of the
mass of your leg multi utilized by the speed of your leg, as it hits the ball, squared. Something else
that happens when you kick the ball is that the ball disfigures.

Essay on Theme of Death in White Noise
White Noise
Death is probably the most feared word in the English language. Its undesired uncertainty threatens
society s desire to believe that life never ends. Don DeLillo s novel White Noise tells the bizarre story
of how Jack Gladney and his family illustrate the postmodern ideas of religion, death, and popular
culture. The theme of death s influence over the character mentality, consumer lifestyle, and media
manipulation is used often throughout DeLillo s story. Perhaps, the character most responsive to death
is Jack Gladney. In fact, he is so consumed by his fear of death that his ordinary thought processes are
often interrupted by the question: Who will die first (DeLillo 15)? In Jack s mind: This question
comes up from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Duvall notes that forms of credit...are crucial to Jack s function as a consumer, and Jack stops thinking
about death by thinking of it in terms of a credit card: a way to delay the payment process(136).
Furthermore, Jack uses his credit to create a sense of power over his fear of death. I sent clerks into
their fabric books and pattern books to search for elusive designs. I began to grow in value and self
regard. I filled myself out, found new aspects of myself, located a person I d forgotten existed....The
more money I spent, the less important it seemed. I was bigger than these sums (DeLillo 83 84).
According to Mark Conroy, author of From Tombstone to Tabloid: Authority Figured in White Noise,
this illustrates what one could call DeLillo s Law of Consumption: that people expend money in direct
proportion to their fear of death or dishonor (102). Again, Jack would hide the idea of death through
shopping by purchasing items that gave him a fresh, new look; a look that death would not give
because death is old and bland. During the attack of the black, billowing cloud, a man holding a
television with a blank screen talks about the lack of media coverage on the event. No film footage, no
live report. Does this kind of thing happen so often that nobody cares anymore? Don t those people
know what we ve been through...? Is it possible

Analysis Of Jay Z s August 4th
Jay Z s December 4th was the first song on his Black Album, which was released in 2003, during one
of the many peaks in the rapper s career. The song includes his mother talking about his childhood in
between verses and is a very autobiographical song in the sense that he talks about his life up until he
formed the persona that is Jay Z. Although December 4th is thought to have been about the rappers s
presumed retirement, the song does not allude to an end to his rap career, instead, the December 4th is
about the artist s transition from Shawn Carter to Jay Z. He tells the story, not of the end, but of the
beginning of Jay Z and he does this by separating himself from his former self, Shawn Carter;
examining the importance that Carter played in the story of how Jay Z was born and continues to live.
This song is very indicative of a speaker who is narrating and advising his former self and showing the
importance of accepting and how one came to be. The song begins almost as a confessional, telling his
audience about the decisions and choices he made leading up to the creation of Jay Z . When he says, I
m leaving after this song/ So you ain t gotta feel no way about Jay so long/ At least let me tell you why
I m this way, the rapper is letting his audience know that this song is about his life and the aspects of
his upbringing that lead him to his present life as Jay Z. It is also important to note that the lines above
are being told from the point of view of Carter

Religious Views Of The Hippopotamus
ENG 380a
Prof. Vladimir Levchev
Arman Boyajyan The Hippopotamus: T.S.Eliot s Religious Views
Eliot s poem The Hippopotamus is concentrated on the differences and similarities between the
hippopotamus and a church. He chose this animal to make the comparison because he founds that the
animal has a lot of similarities with the church. He wants to make clear the characteristics of the
hippopotamus. The characteristics are not that every other animal has. It is the best to learn those
characteristics, as a person can do something through by learning a skill that another person can t. I
would personally advise students to have a goal and to do everything to reach them.

These sediment scrapes were frozen at 20°C for subsequent analysis. In the laboratory, 5g of the sediment was air dried, gently crushed and passed through a 2mm sieve. Particle size distribution of the 2 mm fraction was undertaken following Malvern Mastersizer protocol (v1.3) (http://www.geog.cam.ac.uk/facilities/laboratories/techniques/psd.html) at the University of Cambridge. Only one sample was taken at each of the Northern Irish sites, when this was not possible, the Agri Food and Biosciences Institute, supplied data on sediment particle sizes. Comparative particle size distribution indices (Logarithmic mean, standard deviation, kurtosis and skew) were calculated according to Folk and Ward (1957) and analysed using GRADISTAT software (Folk Ward, 1957; Blott Pye, 2001). Particle size distribution was recorded at the site level for the Northern Irish sites, but was highly resolved for Essex and Morecambe (three replicates per quadrat within each sites), requiring us to standardise the data across locations. To do so, we first tested for significant differences between the three replicate samples taken at each quadrat within each site, and upon finding no significant differences, pooled replicates giving a quadrat mean. We then tested for significant differences in sediment properties within each pooled quadrat at each site, which were not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Theoretical Foundations Of Advanced Nursing Pain Concept Britton Lerch Due Date: September 15, 2015 Kaplan University MN502: Theoretical Foundations of Advanced Nursing Dr. Phelps Introduction Concepts are ideas that can assist nurses with understanding various situations. This enables researchers seeking scientific theories in order to identify and measure theory components. It is best to have clear concepts in order to prevent misunderstandings. Confusion can hinder patient s knowledge when providing patient education. Poor communication can lead to unintentional non compliance and delay recovery processes (Stewart, Schofield, Elliott, Torrance, Leveille, 2014). Pain Young, old, male, female, we all feel degrees of pain for a variety of reasons. Pain is real and it is different for everyone. Pain can hold a magnitude of negative effects for all. Medication and non medication interventions are approaches that can lessen pain. To understand pain, and how to manage pain, one should explore the true concept of pain. Pain can refer to an emotional, psychological, or spiritual state; also, pain may result from a physical condition. The purpose of this paper is to study the concept of pain and to comprehend the pathophysiology of physical pain. It forces Razumikhin to replace Raskolnikov in situations that should have been left to his authority. In a situation where Raskolnikov should have reassured Dounia and Pulcheria of their safety he waved his hand weakly to Razumikhin to cut short the flow of warm and incoherent consolations he was addressing to his mother and sister (Part 3. 1). As Raskolnikov began to slowly move away from any form of comfortable socialization and a growing poverty situation, his stubbornness to contain his pride and dignity eventually builds up to the brutal murder of Alyona. Razumikhin is in a similar financial situation as Raskolnikov. Razumikhin foils Raskolnikov in his response to a desperate situation such as struggling poverty. He faced his struggles with a trial and error personality. His view stood that you never reach any truth without making fourteen mistakes and very likely a hundred and fourteen (Part 3. 1). The reason I say sometimes must do with the fact that not all news is trustworthy. Fake news is seen very often and can be misinterpreted by many people. Well, what is fake news? I believe fake news is information that is false and just out there to get attention to it. Behind fake news comes fake ideas, most people s opinions on social media, and false predictions or sayings. Nowadays, anything could be considered as news but I think it s important to identify the real news from the fake ones. That way whatever anyone hears or sees will be reliable. According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Tan says, Fake ideas are more subtly dangerous than fake facts. I agree with this statement because facts are facts and ideas can be changed several times. The flamingos were watched for about 40 minutes all together. After gathering the data of the flamingos behavior, the information was processed into two different charts called followed by table and transition frequency table and then turned into a kinematic diagram. The diagram shows the transition frequency of how many times the flamingo that was studied produced a behavior after another behavior. Is it for the Father, or for the Son, or, as Edmund Gosse tells us, for the public, so they can have a record of life in a rigidly religious family? Edmund begins his book by telling you that it is a historical record, an important chronicle that is to be used, basically as a reference for a period of time. Yet, in the first sentence of the first chapter, we can see that this is truly not his purpose. The first words on the page does not reference a historical event; they are, instead, cathartic. • 18. The Roman Catholic Church s Influence And Governance Over... This essay will identify and examine the significance of the Roman Catholic Church s influence and governance over Europe throughout the Middle Ages. For the purposes of this essay, the Middle Ages refers to the period between the Conversion of Constantine in 313CE and the onset of the Renaissance Period during the early 14th century. In addition, this essay will examine and account for change in the institution and theology of the Roman Catholic Church. It will identify the nature and importance of continuity and the diversity of causes and outcomes of the Church s influence through a range of historical perspectives. Since the conversion of Constantine in 313CE, Christianity transformed from a persecuted, unorganized group of believers into a hierarchical, European dominating institution over the course of the Middle Ages. Developing alongside the changing political environment of post Roman Europe, the Roman Catholic Church became the single most dominant institution in medieval life, its influence pervading almost every aspect of people s lives. Catholicism influenced the calendar, significant events and rituals such as baptism, confirmation, marriage and penance, and mainstream spiritual and ethical beliefs. Most people were fully convinced of the validity of the church s teachings and believed that only the faithful would avoid hell and gain eternal salvation in heaven. By the Norman Conquest of England in 1066CE, Christianity had conquered the totality of Europe. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another form of foreign aid is a certain amount of credit is given to the receiving country in order to buy American made goods only. Consequently, this fear of being alone pushes her to accept unreasonable actions coming from her husband ranging from intimidating their children in pursuing a relationship with another woman behind her back. Diaz criticizes the dependency of immigrant wife s to their husband. Furthermore, in her eyes, her family is her sanctuary, henceforth she is willing to sacrifice her unhappiness to protect her refuge. Diaz writes, Picturing her alone wasn t easy. It seemed like Papi had always been with her, even when we were waiting in Santa Domingo for him to send for us. ( Fiesta, 1980 , 41). Demonstrating how destructive your insecurities can be to the growth of a healthy relationship. I believe Diaz s is using the idea of a picture to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Alcohol 0.35 0.50 Coma Complete unconsciousness Depressed or abolished reflexes Subnormal body temperature Incontinence Impairment of circulation and respiration Possible death 0.45 + Death Death from respiratory arrest ________________________________________ Absorption Alcohol is absorbed from all parts of the gastrointestinal tract largely by simple diffusion into the blood. However the small intestine is by far the most efficient region of the gastrointestinal tract for alcohol absorption because of its very large surface area. In a fasting individual, it is generally agreed that 10% to 20% of a dose of alcohol is absorbed from the stomach (the volume of alcohol affects the absorption) and 75% to 80% is absorbed from the small ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alcohol Content It s not how many drinks that you have, but how much alcohol that you consume. The concentration of the drinks that one ingest can have a slight effect on the peak alcohol concentration due to the differences in absorption rate of different concentrations of alcohol. Alcohol is most rapidly absorbed when the concentration of the drink is between 10% and 30%. Below 10% the concentration gradient in the gastrointestinal tract is low and slows absorption and the added volumes of liquid involved slow gastric emptying. On the other hand concentrations higher than 30% tend to irritate the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract and the pyloric sphincter, causing increased secretion of mucous and delayed gastric emptying. Food Food taken along with alcohol results in a lower, delayed blood alcohol concentration peak (the point of greatest intoxication). There are two major factors involved in this phenomenon. First, because alcohol is absorbed most efficiently in the small intestine, the ingestion of food can slow down the absorption of alcohol into one s system. The pyloric valve at the bottom of the stomach will close in order to hold food in the stomach for digestion and thus keep the alcohol from reaching the small intestine. ... • 24. Apollo 13 Thesis In the movie Apollo 13, Ron Howard experienced many challenges trying to recreate authenticity in the Apollo 13 space mission s story, while still adding his own creative spin to the movie. In April 1970, National Aeronautic Space Agency (NASA) launched a spacecraft with three astronauts on board this flight. During this mission, Apollo 13 experienced multiple issues, which caused the mission to end earlier than expected. After 20 years had passed, Jim Lovell, one of the Apollo 13, and Jeffrey Kluger wrote Lost Moon: The Perilous Voyage of Apollo 13, which chronicled this event in NASA s lunar space history. Soon after its release, this book caught the eye of famous actor and soon to be famous director Ron Howard, which caused him to adapt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As editors of the movie, Mike Hill and Daniel Hanley were persistently tested in finding ways to remain as true as possible to the historical event. One way that they did this was through keeping some of the scenes consistent to the real timing of the events. In one scene, NASA s command center in Houston, TX lost communication with the spacecraft for some time. As a crucial issue within this account, Hill and Hanley wanted to keep this same timing in the movie, so they wanted to try to keep the running time in the film pretty close to the time on the clock and not have radio silence lasting for nine minutes or something (Apollo 13). Since long periods of silence is not always the best way to keep an audience s attention, the editors had to find ways to keep the audience engaged while still staying true to the real event, The whole sequence benefits from some great camera movement and crane shots which, combined with James Horner s score and sound design by Steve Flick and Chic Ciccolini, helped immensely to build the tension (Apollo 13). By using a certain sequences, and also strong music, the editors were able to make this scene one of the most memorable images in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Comparing Aengus And Shakespearce People throughout the world have different problems they face everyday. Everyone has to have any type of motivation in order to succeed. For example, Pearce from Call of the Klondike saw tonos of miners carrying gold, so he and many other people set an adventure to the Klondike. While Aengus was finding true love, Annie was trying to tend her family; these three people all shared a desire and determination. First, Pearce had a desire he wanted in order to succeed his mission. In Call of the Klondike, it says, Firemen, doctors, lawyers, ministers even the mayor of Seattle quit their jobs and joined the rush (Pearce, par.4). This sentence means that when the miners brought back the gold, everyone left to achieve fame and fortune. Another reason that Pearce motivation is desire because people are willing to take extreme risks in search for fame or fortune. To summarize, sometimes people need a desire in order to achieve something great. Although Pearce needed a desire, Annie Johnson from New DIrections had determination for her to tend her family. In New DIrections, Annie says, I looked up the road I was going and back the way I come, and since I wasn t satisfied, I decided to step off the road and cut me a new path (Johnson, par. 3). • 26. On The Roof Of The World By Sir Charles G. D. Roberts 1) I believe that there are many ways that the author has chosen to set up a man and animal as competitors in the story On The Roof Of The World by Sir Charles G. D. Roberts. One of the reasons that the author has set up a man and an animal as competitors is that unlike normal circumstances where mankind is on top of the food chain, higher that every other living thing known. In this short story, the man and the polar bear are on approximately the same level of the food chain. As the bear is equipped with claws, the man evens himself out with the spear he had fashioned himself. The author seems write this to portray his question of, is humankind more superior to other living species when having to live in almost the exact same conditions in which the animals live in? Another way it thinks that the author has set up a man and an animal as competitors is to show how similar things a human would do like an animal if put in such a situation such as high winds, predators, and a constant danger of frostbite, a human would only care about three things, food, shelter and water like an animal. With the only source of food, a human would resort to savage ways so similar to the ways of a polar bear as the story states, without an instant s hesitation the man hurled his spear (p. 164) and when with a growl of rage, the bear tore it loose and charged upon the man (p. 164). This shows that when a human is exposed to this type of environment, they would kill for food without ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 28. Analysis Of Maud A Monodrama By Alfred Lord Tennyson Maud: A Monodrama is the lengthy poem that dominated the first collection published by Alfred, Lord Tennyson after he became poet laureate. In its rich and romantic symbolism, it is characteristic of the great poet s work. Notable, also, is its critique of the hypocrisy and other social failings of Victorian Britain. Maud became one of the best known poems of the period, and continued to be influential even after its style became dated. !!!Tennyson and Maud [{Image src= rossetti_tennysonmaud.jpg alt= Tennyson reading from Maud, 1855 }] Alfred, Lord Tennyson was a favorite poet of generations. Made Poet Laureate of Great Britain by Queen Victoria, he dominated the literary scene during his time. He also came for better and for worse to represent that generation s taste, both during his life and after it. Tennyson s rich __Victorian language__ can seem daunting to modern readers. In reading Maud , it s a good idea to just embrace the exaggerated concepts. Experimental in style, laden with intense symbolism, and full of __social criticism__, Maud was not a popular poem at first, despite its author s status. Tennyson himself was proud of the work, and retaliated against criticism by reading it aloud whenever he could. Reportedly, this won over many critics due to the beauty of the poem s language. !!! • 30. Essay on Theme of Death in White Noise White Noise Death is probably the most feared word in the English language. Its undesired uncertainty threatens society s desire to believe that life never ends. Don DeLillo s novel White Noise tells the bizarre story of how Jack Gladney and his family illustrate the postmodern ideas of religion, death, and popular culture. The theme of death s influence over the character mentality, consumer lifestyle, and media manipulation is used often throughout DeLillo s story. Perhaps, the character most responsive to death is Jack Gladney. In fact, he is so consumed by his fear of death that his ordinary thought processes are often interrupted by the question: Who will die first (DeLillo 15)? In Jack s mind: This question comes up from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I began to grow in value and self regard. I filled myself out, found new aspects of myself, located a person I d forgotten existed....The more money I spent, the less important it seemed. I was bigger than these sums (DeLillo 83 84). According to Mark Conroy, author of From Tombstone to Tabloid: Authority Figured in White Noise, this illustrates what one could call DeLillo s Law of Consumption: that people expend money in direct proportion to their fear of death or dishonor (102). Again, Jack would hide the idea of death through shopping by purchasing items that gave him a fresh, new look; a look that death would not give because death is old and bland. • 31. Analysis Of Jay Z s August 4th Jay Z s December 4th was the first song on his Black Album, which was released in 2003, during one of the many peaks in the rapper s career. The song includes his mother talking about his childhood in between verses and is a very autobiographical song in the sense that he talks about his life up until he formed the persona that is Jay Z. Although December 4th is thought to have been about the rappers s presumed retirement, the song does not allude to an end to his rap career, instead, the December 4th is about the artist s transition from Shawn Carter to Jay Z. He tells the story, not of the end, but of the beginning of Jay Z and he does this by separating himself from his former self, Shawn Carter; examining the importance that Carter played in the story of how Jay Z was born and continues to live. This song is very indicative of a speaker who is narrating and advising his former self and showing the importance of accepting and how one came to be. The song begins almost as a confessional, telling his audience about the decisions and choices he made leading up to the creation of Jay Z . When he says, I m leaving after this song/ So you ain t gotta feel no way about Jay so long/ At least let me tell you why I m this way, the rapper is letting his audience know that this song is about his life and the aspects of his upbringing that lead him to his present life as Jay Z.
