place in the 1940s, and takes place in the city Bayport. Some people say the city Bayport in the book
is based on Bayport, New York, due to similarities. The Mystery of The Chinese Junk is a realistic
fiction book, and is written in the third person limited point of view. The theme of this book is that
there will always be evil in the world, but it s how you handle it that matters.
The two main characters in this book are Frank and Joe Hardy. Frank is 1 year older than Joe(18), and
has blonde hair. Frank is a tall boy, and is the brains of the Hardy brother team. Joe is the younger
brother(17), with brown hair and also tall. Joe is considered the brawns between the two s mystery
solving team. Frank and Joe go through many frightening moments throughout the story, becoming
