The Yellowstone Wolf Controversy Essay
One of the biggest reasons for the reintroduction of wolves back into Yellowstone was that they had
originally roamed from Yellowstone all the way down to Mexico. While a lot of people were in favor
of the reintroduction of the wolves, there were many who were against it. The main people who were
against the reintroduction of the wolves back into the park were the ranchers who made a living in the
areas surrounding the park.
During 70 years of absence from the Rockies, the Grey Wolf had been protected under the Endangered
Species Act that was passed in 1973. Since the wolf is under the protection of Endangered Species Act
a person could be punished with up to a $100,000 fine and up to 1 year in jail for killing a wolf. Back

With this plan they decided on three areas in which to reintroduce wolves; Northwest Montana, the
Yellowstone Ecosystem, and Central Idaho. In 1987 they released another plan that was more detailed
than the first few. The recovery goal for the Grey Wolf was ten breeding pairs per area, which meant
ten packs of ten wolves, or 100 total. With the release of the 1987 plan, a lot of opposition was raised.
For the first time in 70 years, the howl of the Grey Wolf is being heard throughout Yellowstone Park
(Sanders, 2000). In January of 1995, 14 wolves from separate packs in Canada were trapped and
transported to Yellowstone. Once in the park the wolves were placed in one acre acclimation pens. In
total there were three pens scattered across the northern portion of Yellowstone: one a Crystal Creek,
another at Rose Creek, and the last at Soda Butte. During the wolves time spent in these pens they
were fed winter kill, or road kill. The packs that were formed in these pens were released in the
winters of 1995 1996 and also again in 1996 1997 for a second release period (Sanders, 2000). In
1995 fourteen wolves were released and in 1996 seventeen were released. In 1997 there were 64 pups
born and since 1995, 33 wolves have died in the Yellowstone area.
With the reintroduction of the Grey Wolf into the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem there have been
many people who are opposed. Mainly the ranchers in Montana

Convocation Research Paper
September third in convocation many people including myself that attended were very inspired. The
convocations meeting has many different aspects to it. first walking in you heard the band playing
which was nice to hear after that we saw line of many older people who have graduated with degrees
going inside starting the meeting. Honesty this being my first convocation meeting I was not very fond
of the thought of going especially after hearing all the upperclassmen big bad about it. So when I saw
all those people going onto the stage I thought they were all going to have very long speeches so i
immediately had an internal cry about how my back was going to feel afterwards . However, only one
person came to speak his name is Mr Knight. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speech was very short and inspiring. I loved the speech because, it was nothing I expected which
was to be writing notes about how to be successful in your classes. Instead of giving us the rules he
told us how to keep ourselves inspired and what we need to get through our lives he basically was
saying we need to keep God close to us. I was inspired by the speech because, I do believe in God but
I sometime forget that I am favored by God and I can do all things through him. I was reminded that
God is my provider and not to stress about anything because with him everything will go right. What
Mr.Knight said was a push for me to keep doing scholarships even though the only ones available are
difficult to receive. I was also reminded who I am as a Christian and what I should be doing and what
I should not be focused on. He gave 3 testimonies and one thing the people say is that through
testimony others become healed , and I was mentally. I regained my faith in God. Growing up in a
Christian household, my siblings and I have always been taught to set our standards high in

Analysis of This Is What It Means to Say Phoenix,...
In Sherman Alexie s This is what it means to say Phoenix, Arizona a man named Victor finds out that
his father has passed away. Being next of kin, Victor is responsible for gathering his father s assets
together, which requires him to make an out of town trip. In order to accomplish this Victor needs
help. This help comes from the town outcast, Thomas Builds the Fire. Victor and Thomas were
childhood best friends but as they grew older, Victor turned his back on the one that always looked out
for him. A trip to gather his father s remains turns into a journey of reviewing his life and choices.
Shortly after losing his job with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Victor is informed of his father s death.

Thomas approaches Victor and offers his condolences. He tells Victor that he has money to lend him
so he can make it to Phoenix. The only condition is that Victor must take Thomas with him. Victor
tells Thomas that he can t accept his money and that they aren t even friends. Thomas replies I didn t
say we were friends. I said you had to take me with you. (249). Victor says he ll think about it and
goes home. When he arrives home, he is flooded with memories. After heavy consideration, Victor
knows the only way he ll be able to claim his father s remains is to borrow the money from Thomas.
He agrees to take Thomas along for the trip and the two men catch a plane to Phoenix, Arizona.
Throughout the story Victor replays moments in his mind. Times when he and Thomas were best of
friends. Times when he loved listening to Thomas visions about life and stories with hidden lessons.
Times when Thomas was there for him and even a time when Thomas helped to save his life. The
good memories turn to visions of Victor turning his back on his best friend. Victor is faced with the
reality of his cruel actions and choices. Of how he chose to go with the rest of the pack and attack the
weak one. Victor recalls being drunk when he was fifteen and beating up Thomas for the fun of it.

The Cultural Expectations And Rules
Norms
A norm is something that is standard in society. Within sociology, it is specifically the cultural
expectations and rules that a person within the culture is supposed to uphold. Norms tell an individual
how they should behave within a certain situation. According to Saul McLeod of Simply Psychology
(2008), people are expected to behave in a way that is not random. Norms are social standards that are
agreed upon by a society so that members of a culture do not deviate into areas that others would
consider abnormal and wrong. Also norms vary by culture, so one culture that has an agreed upon and
socially practiced norm may vary from another culture that does not do the same thing and instead has
different norms. Each culture s norms differ based on beliefs and customs.
Norms are a general category of social rules. Taboos, laws, mores, and folkways are all norms. A
taboo is something that a culture forbids. Laws are strictly enforced formal rules by the government or
social powers within a culture. A more is a norm related to morals; what is deemed right or not within
a particular society. Also folkways are customs that are socially accepted, but are not strictly enforced.
Following norms are important because an individual is only socially accepted if they follow the set
norms.
The norm that I violated is a norm within American culture. It is a violation of a norm to clip your
toenails when around a group of other individuals within this culture. This norm is

Speech For A Introductory Speech On Procrastination
Introductory paragraph:
Hook: (I am sitting there) and I wonder about my homework then I say oh when I am going to be
presenting my speech and then I say oh I ran out of time.
Greeting: Good afternoon, judges, teachers, and fellow classmates
Introduction to topic: Today I will be talking about something horrible we have all done before. Today
I m going to share with you some statistics that I can t believe affect us all. According to the Brandon
Gaille website in the article about 17 lazy procrastination statistics, they said that 85 to 95 percent of
students in North America procrastinate and the number of chronic procrastinators has quadrupled
during the last thirty years?
What is procrastination?
I know some of you are sitting there wondering what procrastination is. Well, procrastination is the
action of putting off tasks that are planned to be done for tasks that are of lesser importance. So if you
think of it, you are actually trying to sabotage your success. There are actually two types of
procrastinators one is the situational procrastinator and the other is a chronic procrastinator. A
situational procrastinator usually procrastinates because of how they feel about a particular task
(usually because we don t like it). Chronic procrastinators procrastinate in almost every situation, and
that is the normal for them. So is procrastination laziness or an illness? Procrastination could be a
physiological illness if the person procrastinates because of

been an increase of COPD from 1999 (35.3 per 100,000 of the population to 2010 (36.4 per 100,000
of the population) (CDC, 2014). The signs and symptoms include breathlessness, frequent coughing,
wheezing and tightness in the chest (COPD Foundation, 2016). Complications of COPD include
respiratory infections, heart problems, lung cancer, high blood pressure and depression (Mayo Clinic,
2015). Laboratory abnormalities of COPD is shown through arterial blood gas analysis which shows
how well oxygen can enter the lungs and remove carbon dioxide. If the oxygen can barely enter and
remove less carbon dioxide the patient is shown to have evidence of COPD (Mayo Clinic, 2015).
Common treatments and modifications to treat COPD is to reduce smoking by going to smoking

treatments such as oxygen

What Impact Did Ulysses S. Grant Have On The Civil War
Ulysses S. Grant What do you think of when someone mentions the Civil War? Slaves? Abraham
Lincoln? Probably not some of the specifics, right? What about some of the generals, like Ulysses S.
Grant. Maybe you ve heard that name before, maybe not, but Grant was pretty important in the Civil
War. What impact did Ulysses S. Grant have on the impact of the Civil War? , you may ask. Well,
worry not my friend I am here to answer that question. Our man of the hour began his life on April
27th, 1822 in Point Pleasant, Ohio. Originally, Grant was named Hiram Ulysses Grant. He changes it
eventually for reasons we ll talk about later. Now, little Hiram Grant was generally a pleasant child.

dad enrolled him in the United States Military Academy at West Point. Young Hiram Grant very much
disliked the academy and actually wanted to drop out and pursue being a math teacher, but he never

The Noble Knight In Thomas Malory s Morte Darthur
During Malory s Morte Darthur , the noble knights such as Lancelot, Gawain, Agravain, and Gareth
represent the ideals of knightliness. Malory seems to be implying that Sir Lancelot although King
Arthur s biggest betrayer was still the noblest of knights despite his adultery. Sir Lancelot during the
story is portrayed as the measure in which all knights worth is metered by. As just a knight Lancelot is
held as the man of which many worship, slightly more than even King Arthur, making Lancelot the
main idol of the text. Being a knight nobility, honor, and worship was an imperative skill in the role of
leadership, for a leader often were those who had proven themselves on and off the battlefield. For
others to look over Sire Lancelot and Queen Guinevere s secret affair insinuates that they respected Sir
Lancelot more than King Arthur. In Sir Thomas Malory s Morte Darthur the implication of the story is
that honor is obtained by holding up to the responsibilities one may have more so than relationships
they are involved in. Sir Agravain and Sir Mordred brought the Queen and Sir Lancelot s affair up
amongst the group of knights. To a reader, it shows a semi dislike to Sir Lancelot that they both would
make such noise over this. Sir Gawain reminds them both that they, must remember how often time
Sir Lancelot hath rescued the King and Queen (483). Gawain looks to Sir Lancelot as an honorable
knight disbelieving that his fellow knights would accuse him of such accusations.

Emily Dickinson And Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening
Poems are like snowflakes. While no two are the same, they all have common structures and themes.
One prevalent theme in poetry is that of death, which is present in both Because I Could Not Stop for
Death by Emily Dickinson and Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost. Dickinson
perceives death as a gentleman, while Frost perceives death as loneliness, which provides insight on
how the time periods of the poems, the genders of the authors, and the authors personal experiences
influence literature. A major factor of Emily Dickinson s style of poetry is the time period in which
she lived. Emily Dickinson was alive from 1830 to 1886 (Mackowiak and Batten, 1159), during which
the Second Great Awakening, Romanticism, and the United States Civil War took place. When
Dickinson was a teenager, the Second Great Awakening took hold, encouraging people to take hold of
their religion and practice once more. Thomas Ford discusses this in his book Heaven Beguiles the
Tired: Death in the Poetry of Emily Dickinson, reviewed by Jack Capps. Capps points out that Ford
repeatedly asserts that poetry, for Emily Dickinson, was but a substitute for the religious conversion
that would have allayed her fears of death and obviated her poetic utterance (227). Dickinson did not
blindly accept what religion told her to believe about death. Christianity depicts the idea of dying in a
peaceful way, then spending the rest of eternity in a mystical place. Instead, Emily Dickinson wanted

The Yellow Wallpaper and What It Has to Say about the Position and Treatment of Women at the
Turn of the Last Century
The Yellow Wallpaper tells a single story, with a tight focus on a specific fictional woman, but the
circumstances it drew from for its depiction were widespread. The events it depicts, while they may
not have occurred exactly in reality, were written in parallel to true conditions and treatments of the
time. Women were seen as inherently fragile, and subject to specific conditions due to this fragility
the 19th century diagnosis of female hysteria by this time was in decline, replaced by other conditions.
The stifling of women s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This calls back to both the prevalence of hysteria itself as a diagnosis of women, and perhaps the
beginnings of its discrediting in the 20th century, as John seems to believe the hysteria with which he
has diagnosed his wife is a condition of little concern. I can strongly relate to this dismissal, as my
father has for most of my life refused to acknowledge my depression as a real condition requiring
more treatment than an order to exercise and eat vegetables . John s patriarchal insistence that
LeCompte 2 he knows better than the narrator what will make her feel better, against her own protests,
runs in a similar vein.
The narrator s treatment has significant historical precendent. Hysteria itself has a long history through
civilizations. An ancient Egyptian document identifies hysteria, with the cause as spontaneous uterus
movement within the female body (Tasca et al.). The Greeks, too, apparently ascribed to this view in
Plato s Timaeus, the titlular character sees the uterus as a living creature [...] which [...] travels around
the body blocking passages, obstructing breathing, and causing disease (S. Gilman et al. 25).
Hippocrates, in the fifth century BCE, was the first to use the term hysteria for this supposed womb
borne madness of women. He posited that the womb was sickened or unsatisfied without the effects of
sexual activity, and that this was the cause of its wandering about the body and contributing to other
afflictions

It is almost time , my big sister said as we count down the days for prom. Prom was the only event I

Monday, April 10, 2017, and it is the day the store finished making my dress. I arrived at the mall

The Process of Fred Meyer s Organizational Structure Selection Introduction According to Bateman

How the United States can Solve the Debate on Female...
Historically, only men have fought in wars. Other than a few exceptions, such as Joan of Arc, this has
largely remained true to this day. However, in 2013, the Pentagon announced that by 2016, the ban
preventing women from entering combat will be fully revoked. This means that women in the United
States military will be placed into combat roles, such as Army and Marine infantry units, artillery,
armor, Special Operations Forces, and the Navy SEALs. This shift, which will open more than
250,000 combat related jobs to women in the military, has generated mixed feelings from those in the

One safeguard is that women s physical fitness requirements should not be lowered just so they can be
permitted into combat. Another precaution, one that may be expensive, is that separate facilities and
ground units should be established for women in deployment to help avoid sexual assault. Also, a
restriction that should be put in place is that women in the military should not be forced into these
combat roles. It s also very important to ensure that civilian women aren t included in the draft. These
proposals are within reason, and I believe that with them in place, the implementation of women into
combat will be successful.
The first precaution I mentioned was that women should not be held in a double standard, meaning
that the combat physical fitness requirements should not be lowered for them. We wouldn t be doing
female soldiers any favors by lowering these standards. In fact, they should be raised to match the men
s requirements so that they are better prepared for combat. The Pentagon has noted that there will be
gender neutral standards. They ve also stated that women, for example, must be able to load a tank
with fifty five pound shells, carry a backpack of over seventy pounds, and be able to carry an injured
man that weighs at least two hundred pounds

Work Out Music Psychology
The Psychology of Effective Work Out Music Gyms have introduced new methods of motivating their
customers during the workouts. A study conducted by The Institute of Education Sciences on college
students studied which genres of music where preferred by each student. The study found that students
preferred genres like hip hop, pop, and rock to genres like country and metal. Students specifically
cited being much more motivated to exercise to certain songs than others based on the overall genre.
Psychologist have also found that the majority of people had innate preferences for a frequency of
2Hz or 120 bpm (beats per minute). An analysis of about 75,000 songs produced between 1960 and

The French and Indian war had Colonies drained of resources, money and even men. As a result of
that war, the British Empire heavily taxed the people. However, the Colonies they had no input on the
taxes, no taxation without representation . That resulted in the rise of the clash of British Rule versus
the new colony rule which brought about the American Revolution. New Jersey was a major
contribution towards the war for numerous reasons. While the British controlled the Sandy Hook
military post, many battles and scrimishes had been fought here on New Jersey soil including Ocean
Township. I saw a reoccurring tale of Colonial residents building ships in Deal Lake while battling the
British. During this time actually up the road from where I had grown up, was the cove they refer to as
where the ship building was done. The story goes that as a ship was being crafted with purpose of
intercepting British Supply ships entering the Sandy Hook areas. As the ship was being made British

Callie Quinn is the main character in the book Where the Stars Still Shine. In the beginning of the
book Callie is very insecure, lonely, and sad. Living with her mom traveling from place to place
hiding from the police causes Callie to feel insecure and scared. Trish Doller reveals the insecurity and
loneliness of Callie Quinn by Callie s actions of not wanting to go to school and running away. She
runs away a lot to try to think about her future. I wish you wouldn t run off to that laundromat in the
middle of the night, Callie. (6) She doesn t have any friends and she only has her mom who smokes,
gets drunk, and is a poor role model for Callie which causes Callie to be sad and to have a poor life.

The main idea of the book Where the Stars Still Shine is about how Callie Quinn s life is affected
when her mom kidnaps her after Callie s parents divorce. As a child, when her parents were married
she had a normal and happy life. He was hugging me when I was little. I was jumping off the porch
steps of wherever we were living when the three of us lived together. I fell off the third step and
skinned my knee. Greg was there to pick me up and wipe away the tears. We were a happy family.
(186) Callie reflects on the good times of when she was a young child. Her mom kidnapped her after
the divorce because she thought her dad, Greg, would never let her mom see Callie. Callie s life with
her mom consisted of traveling from apartment to apartment. Callie was often left uncomfortable as
her mom went or had dates with strange men. I can t sleep when she brings men home so I pull on my
dirty jeans and cram on my feet into untied sneakers. Up on Union Avenue I duck into the empty
Super Wash. (2) This goes on throughout Callie s life as a teenager. At age 17, her mom is caught and
arrested. Callie is reunited with her dad and her life begins to change for the better. When she first sees
her dad, she is scared and confused by him. She hasn t seen him in 12 years. All these years I ve
believed my father didn t love me, that the only reason he wanted me was so that my mom couldn t
have me. (19) She soon realizes through conversations with her dad

Death Be Not Proud By John Donne
The progression of societal beliefs regarding our approach towards death is dependent upon the
changing nature of both cultural and historical contexts. In Donne s Holy Sonnet Death be not proud
he uses second person narration to address Death as thou , thee and thy , death is not considered
conceptually but anthropomorphised as the poems fundamental pride. In Death be not proud , we see
how the rumination of death is shaped by Elizabethan values. Through the subverted Petrarchan
structure and style, Donne s use of apostrophe denigrates the omnipotence of death and lowers its
statue to the level of the poet. This corresponds with contextual religious values of certainty in
external afterlife and death as a transitory stage. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Vivian s reversion to the punctuation, Death semicolon thou shalt die, is symbolic of the 1990s
literature culture wars, as Edson argues that a personal interpretation of the text is crucial to
understanding its virtues. This is seen as Donne s religious context only saw a mere pause, comma,
between life and eternal life, whereas, modern existential beliefs see this transition as more potent and
vivid, semicolon. This uncertainty can be seen through the final stage directions, the instant she is
naked and beautiful, reaching for the light, which symbolises purity, peacefulness and hope.
Therefore, we see the modern context produce an uncertain, yet uplifting approach to death. Donne s
poem, The Sunne Rising, expounds how his view of life is shaped by relationships. We see this as the
poet defies the natural order by apostrophising the Sun, Busie old foole. In Donne s context, the Sun
was seen as the centre of the natural world and the source of energy and life. Donne s irritated, jesting
tone denounces the Sun s power when compared with his lover. This is seen through the metaphorical
description, This bed thy centre is, these walls, thy sphere, which extrapolates the apotheosistic nature
of his relationship, and is

The Destruction Of Great Works Of Art
Over the course of human history, political parties and movements have been involved in the
destruction of great works of art. From the Mongols to recent terrorist organizations like Islamic State,
these political organizations have a bad habit of destroying works of art. Moreover, this is only seen
being done by political organizations that seek change or control over the world.
The most recent and impactful of which being the Nazi party, Taliban, and Islamic state. This area is
incredibly interesting because art is being destroyed right under our noses, not many people
understand the impact of the history behind these works of art that are now destroyed, and it happens
over and over throughout human history. What is very peculiar about this is that not many people
really consider the motivation behind all of the destruction and vandalism. This begs the question,
what causes political organizations to destroy works of art in their quest for political power? For the
past few years the world has begun to really understand the affects and the power that the terrorist
organization Islamic State holds. The main source of media coverage of Islamic state ranges from the
murdering of innocent people to the destruction of ancient works of art. For example, Islamic state
militants in Iraq and Syria wage war against the region s cultural heritage by attacking archaeological
sites with bulldozers and explosives. The actual motives behind their destruction are not set in stone,

Trudeau And The Importance Of The Official Languages Act...
The Official Languages Act is an act that is also established by Pierre Elliott Trudeau and significantly
transitioned Canada effectively. The Official Languages Act is a law that was established by the
government in which gives both French and English Canadians equal value in Canada. It allows both
the English and French languages to be officially spoken in Canada. The Official Languages Act also
gives citizens the right to express their culture freely. It is vital to me that [the constitution] does give
protection to the kind of linguistic equality that this government has put into the statutes (The Official
Languages Act.). The Canadian Constitution Act accepts the Official Languages Act which makes it a

The Quebec Referendum first occurred during the Quebec Sovereignty. The Quebec Sovereignty is the
movement of Quebec declaring independence from Canada. Throughout Canadian history, the
province of Quebec has always wanted to become independent from Canada. Most citizens of Quebec
feel suppressed from Canada as French is not commonly spoken outside by Canadians outside of
Quebec. From the fall of 1967, when, as federal minister of justice, he had clearly articulated his
position on these questions, to the 1980 referendum, his thinking and priorities had not changed: they
embodied patriation of the constitution, equality between francophones and anglophones, a charter of
rights, and an amending formula granting a right of veto to Quebec. Pierre Trudeau had intentions in
patriating the constitution with the French and English Canadian s rights and freedoms. During the
Quebec referendum in the year of 1995, the Parti Quebecois asked voters to vote on whether Quebec
should become sovereign or not. As a result, the majority of voters voted against the Quebec
Sovereignty Referendum. Pierre Trudeau strived to defeat the sovereignty movement and thus,
established the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Trudeau was very passionate and ambitious
in transforming Canada into an equal and humble society.

Buddhism and Islam: similarities and differences. Buddhism is a religous and philosophy belief
propagated by the Buddha, a teacher from India who lived between the 4th and 6th century before the
common era. The teachings of the Buddha whose real name was Siddharwa spread through Asia and
to the West after his death as it was practised by the followers.
The Buddha s teachings were based on the fact of that human existence is painful. It was also based on
the ultimately dissatisfying character of human life with emphasis on finding a way to escape and
attain perfection from the different lives. Buddhism also believes that the universe is a product of
Karma. The Four Noble Truths are the truth of misery (dukkha), the truth that misery originates within
the craving for pleasure and for being or nonbeing (samudaya), the truth that this craving can be
eliminated (nirodhu), and the truth that this elimination is the result of following a methodical way or
path (magga). There ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Music In Ancient Greek Music
Music in Ancient Greece was well integrated in their society, it played a large role in various
ceremonies from marriages to funerals, as well as entertainment like plays or epic poetry. Although it
is believed that music was invented in Africa over 55,000 years ago, music really began and took
shape in Ancient Greece. Even the word music came from the Greek word muses who were believed
to be the daughters of Zeus and were the patron Goddesses of creativity. There are many references to
music in ancient Greece, from drawings on pottery of people playing, as well as literary works that
even describe how the instruments sounded. Speaking of instruments, in addition to the voice being
used as one, there are several instruments that are known to have existed in Ancient Greece, a few
different string instruments including a lyre, a kithara (which is believed to be the ancient equivalent
of a guitar), and a barbitos, which is a taller version of a lyre. They also had several wind type
instruments including and aulos, pan pipes, a hydraulis (which eventually led to the modern day
organ), as well as a salpinx, which was an ancient type of trumpet with a bone mouthpiece that was
the origin of the many brass instruments that we know of today. Finally, we also know of several
percussion instruments that were used by the ancient Greeks, these include a tympanum, which was
like a tambourine, a crotala, and a koudounia. Music was actually one of the main teachings, along

Understanding Leadership And Empowerment Of The Workplace
Annotation
Ba, B. G. M. (2015). Understanding leadership and empowerment in the workplace. European
Scientific Journal, 11(35), 342.
Critical Summary of Article Employee empowerment has become an important strategic tool used by
leaders of the 21st century. According to Ba (2015), a recent change in management style has led to
the empowerment of employees in the workplace creating a situation where empowering followers is
an assumed responsibility of all leaders and thought to be a motivational tactic. The relationship
between leaders and employee has become more strategic than anytime in business due to
globalization. Leaders must understand how to use employee empowerment. Ba suggest, a negative
view of a leader can hinder performance; therefore, exploring the aspects that guide followers to
develop a positive image of their leader establishes desirable outcomes, and can create a positive view
of a leader. Employee empowerment is tested to see if it is the key in aligning organizations systems,
processes, people, practices, encourages creativity, innovation, problem solving, and problem
resolution within a control framework that is beneficial towards many important aspects (Ba).
Critical Analysis of Research Method
The researchers used a survey process in order to gain results. Stated by Ba (2015), a survey style
method was administered to 637 customer service engineers within the same industry whose firms
switched from a classical management style to an

Powhatan Indians And The Powhatan Tribe
Before the arrivals of the Europeans, the Powhatan Indians were a tribe that lived on the coastal parts
of Virginia. Their native language was Algonquian, which was used by various tribes along the east
coast. The Powhatan tribe had an interesting culture compared to the Europeans. They were a
powerful tribe at the time and had control most areas of what is now today Virginia. They were called
the Powhatan Confederacy which was a league with over 30 Algonquian speaking tribes. It took one
man named Powhatan, as known as Wahunsonacock, to build the most powerful tribes in Eastern
America.
Wahunsonacock, Powhatan, was born in 1547 at a Algonquian Powhatan Village near the James River.
His parents were Great Powhatan Nemattanon Don Luis DeVelasco Japasaw and PauPauwiske
Morning Scent Flower Mangopeesoman. The Powhatan Tribe were a matrilineal society, so his mother
gave him the right to be chief. The name of the Powhatan Tribe was established when the tradition of
crowning a chief as a king, Chief Powhatan being the first. When he became chief, he ruled six tribes,
he used these alliances to go to war with other tribes, expanding his rule to 30 tribes. He then became
the founder of the Powhatan Confederacy, which was established in 1580.
The Powhatan Confederacy, were along the Chesapeake Bay, Virginia and Southern Maryland. They
would bathe in the water in the rivers they lived near. They would live in towns, which had from two
to one hundred houses. Chief Powhatan would have

Auditory Hallucinations
Hallucinations can be auditory. The types of auditory hallucinations that people experience vary. Some
people can hear mean voices one telling them to do something wrong and the other telling them not
too. Auditory hallucination can be like a radio talk show so you are hearing the voice, but not an actual
participant in what you are hearing. Another auditory hallucination that is very common is hearing
music and it can be any kind of music. People that experience these types of hallucinations are normal
people like you and me. There are many theories as to why people experience auditory hallucinations
such as a greater activation in the primary auditory cortex, or some think it because we can t recognize
the auditory hallucination as our own.

Management Information Systems ( Mis )
MIS in US: Top ranking universities with average GRE scores Management Information Systems
(MIS) has become a rapidly sought after specialization in the past few decades. But the roots, of this
specialization, are definitely not that new. Let s say, even Chitragupta, the god of scribes, was
practicing MIS while keeping track of the deeds of humans, you know, for purposes of creating a
database for good and bad karma. So, as you might have guessed already, MIS has to do with
managing information. Without good practices of record keeping and utilizing that record, Chitragupta
s ledger could have missed out on meting out fairly deserved karma kickbacks. What has changed,
since the mythological age to the Information age, is the way information can be shared and
manipulated. Since early 1900s, business owners were using ledgers and punch cards to keep track of
sales, data, finances, etc [1] until they were replaced by computers, using less cumbersome, more
efficient database systems. With the internet, sweeping us of our feet, in the 90s, information realized
a bigger, much easier, platform for getting shared. Lately cloud sharing has made information
immensely more mobile and accessible. Parallel to the growth, of the playing field of information, the
need for trained professionals, to manage the information, grew. Now, top Universities in the US, offer
some of the most well structured, well established departments for training future business managers

  • 2. The Yellowstone Wolf Controversy Essay One of the biggest reasons for the reintroduction of wolves back into Yellowstone was that they had originally roamed from Yellowstone all the way down to Mexico. While a lot of people were in favor of the reintroduction of the wolves, there were many who were against it. The main people who were against the reintroduction of the wolves back into the park were the ranchers who made a living in the areas surrounding the park. During 70 years of absence from the Rockies, the Grey Wolf had been protected under the Endangered Species Act that was passed in 1973. Since the wolf is under the protection of Endangered Species Act a person could be punished with up to a $100,000 fine and up to 1 year in jail for killing a wolf. Back in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With this plan they decided on three areas in which to reintroduce wolves; Northwest Montana, the Yellowstone Ecosystem, and Central Idaho. In 1987 they released another plan that was more detailed than the first few. The recovery goal for the Grey Wolf was ten breeding pairs per area, which meant ten packs of ten wolves, or 100 total. With the release of the 1987 plan, a lot of opposition was raised. For the first time in 70 years, the howl of the Grey Wolf is being heard throughout Yellowstone Park (Sanders, 2000). In January of 1995, 14 wolves from separate packs in Canada were trapped and transported to Yellowstone. Once in the park the wolves were placed in one acre acclimation pens. In total there were three pens scattered across the northern portion of Yellowstone: one a Crystal Creek, another at Rose Creek, and the last at Soda Butte. During the wolves time spent in these pens they were fed winter kill, or road kill. The packs that were formed in these pens were released in the winters of 1995 1996 and also again in 1996 1997 for a second release period (Sanders, 2000). In 1995 fourteen wolves were released and in 1996 seventeen were released. In 1997 there were 64 pups born and since 1995, 33 wolves have died in the Yellowstone area. With the reintroduction of the Grey Wolf into the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem there have been many people who are opposed. Mainly the ranchers in Montana ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The convocations meeting has many different aspects to it. first walking in you heard the band playing which was nice to hear after that we saw line of many older people who have graduated with degrees going inside starting the meeting. Honesty this being my first convocation meeting I was not very fond of the thought of going especially after hearing all the upperclassmen big bad about it. So when I saw all those people going onto the stage I thought they were all going to have very long speeches so i immediately had an internal cry about how my back was going to feel afterwards . However, only one person came to speak his name is Mr Knight. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The speech was very short and inspiring. I loved the speech because, it was nothing I expected which was to be writing notes about how to be successful in your classes. Instead of giving us the rules he told us how to keep ourselves inspired and what we need to get through our lives he basically was saying we need to keep God close to us. I was inspired by the speech because, I do believe in God but I sometime forget that I am favored by God and I can do all things through him. I was reminded that God is my provider and not to stress about anything because with him everything will go right. What Mr.Knight said was a push for me to keep doing scholarships even though the only ones available are difficult to receive. I was also reminded who I am as a Christian and what I should be doing and what I should not be focused on. He gave 3 testimonies and one thing the people say is that through testimony others become healed , and I was mentally. I regained my faith in God. • 5. The Cultural Expectations And Rules Norms A norm is something that is standard in society. Within sociology, it is specifically the cultural expectations and rules that a person within the culture is supposed to uphold. Norms tell an individual how they should behave within a certain situation. According to Saul McLeod of Simply Psychology (2008), people are expected to behave in a way that is not random. Norms are social standards that are agreed upon by a society so that members of a culture do not deviate into areas that others would consider abnormal and wrong. Also norms vary by culture, so one culture that has an agreed upon and socially practiced norm may vary from another culture that does not do the same thing and instead has different norms. Each culture s norms differ based on beliefs and customs. Norms are a general category of social rules. Taboos, laws, mores, and folkways are all norms. A taboo is something that a culture forbids. Laws are strictly enforced formal rules by the government or social powers within a culture. A more is a norm related to morals; what is deemed right or not within a particular society. Also folkways are customs that are socially accepted, but are not strictly enforced. Following norms are important because an individual is only socially accepted if they follow the set norms. The norm that I violated is a norm within American culture. It is a violation of a norm to clip your toenails when around a group of other individuals within this culture. This norm is ... According to the Brandon Gaille website in the article about 17 lazy procrastination statistics, they said that 85 to 95 percent of students in North America procrastinate and the number of chronic procrastinators has quadrupled during the last thirty years? What is procrastination? I know some of you are sitting there wondering what procrastination is. Well, procrastination is the action of putting off tasks that are planned to be done for tasks that are of lesser importance. So if you think of it, you are actually trying to sabotage your success. There are actually two types of procrastinators one is the situational procrastinator and the other is a chronic procrastinator. A situational procrastinator usually procrastinates because of how they feel about a particular task (usually because we don t like it). Chronic procrastinators procrastinate in almost every situation, and that is the normal for them. So is procrastination laziness or an illness? Probably not some of the specifics, right? What about some of the generals, like Ulysses S. Grant. Maybe you ve heard that name before, maybe not, but Grant was pretty important in the Civil War. What impact did Ulysses S. Grant have on the impact of the Civil War? , you may ask. Well, worry not my friend I am here to answer that question. • 11. The Noble Knight In Thomas Malory s Morte Darthur During Malory s Morte Darthur , the noble knights such as Lancelot, Gawain, Agravain, and Gareth represent the ideals of knightliness. Malory seems to be implying that Sir Lancelot although King Arthur s biggest betrayer was still the noblest of knights despite his adultery. Sir Lancelot during the story is portrayed as the measure in which all knights worth is metered by. As just a knight Lancelot is held as the man of which many worship, slightly more than even King Arthur, making Lancelot the main idol of the text. Being a knight nobility, honor, and worship was an imperative skill in the role of leadership, for a leader often were those who had proven themselves on and off the battlefield. For others to look over Sire Lancelot and Queen Guinevere s secret affair insinuates that they respected Sir Lancelot more than King Arthur. In Sir Thomas Malory s Morte Darthur the implication of the story is that honor is obtained by holding up to the responsibilities one may have more so than relationships they are involved in. Sir Agravain and Sir Mordred brought the Queen and Sir Lancelot s affair up amongst the group of knights. To a reader, it shows a semi dislike to Sir Lancelot that they both would make such noise over this. Sir Gawain reminds them both that they, must remember how often time Sir Lancelot hath rescued the King and Queen (483). Gawain looks to Sir Lancelot as an honorable knight disbelieving that his fellow knights would accuse him of such accusations. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Emily Dickinson And Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening Poems are like snowflakes. While no two are the same, they all have common structures and themes. One prevalent theme in poetry is that of death, which is present in both Because I Could Not Stop for Death by Emily Dickinson and Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost. Dickinson perceives death as a gentleman, while Frost perceives death as loneliness, which provides insight on how the time periods of the poems, the genders of the authors, and the authors personal experiences influence literature. A major factor of Emily Dickinson s style of poetry is the time period in which she lived. Emily Dickinson was alive from 1830 to 1886 (Mackowiak and Batten, 1159), during which the Second Great Awakening, Romanticism, and the United States Civil War took place. When Dickinson was a teenager, the Second Great Awakening took hold, encouraging people to take hold of their religion and practice once more. Thomas Ford discusses this in his book Heaven Beguiles the Tired: Death in the Poetry of Emily Dickinson, reviewed by Jack Capps. Capps points out that Ford repeatedly asserts that poetry, for Emily Dickinson, was but a substitute for the religious conversion that would have allayed her fears of death and obviated her poetic utterance (227). Dickinson did not blindly accept what religion told her to believe about death. Christianity depicts the idea of dying in a peaceful way, then spending the rest of eternity in a mystical place. LeCompte 1 Shiyiya LeCompte Professor Susan Taylor English 1312 11 October 2014 The Yellow Wallpaper and What It Has to Say about the Position and Treatment of Women at the Turn of the Last Century The Yellow Wallpaper tells a single story, with a tight focus on a specific fictional woman, but the circumstances it drew from for its depiction were widespread. The events it depicts, while they may not have occurred exactly in reality, were written in parallel to true conditions and treatments of the time. Women were seen as inherently fragile, and subject to specific conditions due to this fragility the 19th century diagnosis of female hysteria by this time was in decline, replaced by other conditions. The stifling of women s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This calls back to both the prevalence of hysteria itself as a diagnosis of women, and perhaps the beginnings of its discrediting in the 20th century, as John seems to believe the hysteria with which he has diagnosed his wife is a condition of little concern. I can strongly relate to this dismissal, as my father has for most of my life refused to acknowledge my depression as a real condition requiring more treatment than an order to exercise and eat vegetables . John s patriarchal insistence that LeCompte 2 he knows better than the narrator what will make her feel better, against her own protests, runs in a similar vein. The narrator s treatment has significant historical precendent. Hysteria itself has a long history through civilizations. An ancient Egyptian document identifies hysteria, with the cause as spontaneous uterus movement within the female body (Tasca et al.). The Greeks, too, apparently ascribed to this view in Plato s Timaeus, the titlular character sees the uterus as a living creature [...] which [...] travels around the body blocking passages, obstructing breathing, and causing disease (S. Gilman et al. 25). Hippocrates, in the fifth century BCE, was the first to use the term hysteria for this supposed womb borne madness of women. He posited that the womb was sickened or unsatisfied without the effects of sexual activity, and that this was the cause of its wandering about the body and contributing to other afflictions ... Other than a few exceptions, such as Joan of Arc, this has largely remained true to this day. However, in 2013, the Pentagon announced that by 2016, the ban preventing women from entering combat will be fully revoked. This means that women in the United States military will be placed into combat roles, such as Army and Marine infantry units, artillery, armor, Special Operations Forces, and the Navy SEALs. This shift, which will open more than 250,000 combat related jobs to women in the military, has generated mixed feelings from those in the armed forces. One safeguard is that women s physical fitness requirements should not be lowered just so they can be permitted into combat. Another precaution, one that may be expensive, is that separate facilities and ground units should be established for women in deployment to help avoid sexual assault. Also, a restriction that should be put in place is that women in the military should not be forced into these combat roles. It s also very important to ensure that civilian women aren t included in the draft. These proposals are within reason, and I believe that with them in place, the implementation of women into combat will be successful. The first precaution I mentioned was that women should not be held in a double standard, meaning that the combat physical fitness requirements should not be lowered for them. We wouldn t be doing female soldiers any favors by lowering these standards. In fact, they should be raised to match the men s requirements so that they are better prepared for combat. The Pentagon has noted that there will be gender neutral standards. They ve also stated that women, for example, must be able to load a tank with fifty five pound shells, carry a backpack of over seventy pounds, and be able to carry an injured man that weighs at least two hundred pounds ... • 22. Death Be Not Proud By John Donne The progression of societal beliefs regarding our approach towards death is dependent upon the changing nature of both cultural and historical contexts. In Donne s Holy Sonnet Death be not proud he uses second person narration to address Death as thou , thee and thy , death is not considered conceptually but anthropomorphised as the poems fundamental pride. In Death be not proud , we see how the rumination of death is shaped by Elizabethan values. Through the subverted Petrarchan structure and style, Donne s use of apostrophe denigrates the omnipotence of death and lowers its statue to the level of the poet. This corresponds with contextual religious values of certainty in external afterlife and death as a transitory stage. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Vivian s reversion to the punctuation, Death semicolon thou shalt die, is symbolic of the 1990s literature culture wars, as Edson argues that a personal interpretation of the text is crucial to understanding its virtues. This is seen as Donne s religious context only saw a mere pause, comma, between life and eternal life, whereas, modern existential beliefs see this transition as more potent and vivid, semicolon. This uncertainty can be seen through the final stage directions, the instant she is naked and beautiful, reaching for the light, which symbolises purity, peacefulness and hope. Therefore, we see the modern context produce an uncertain, yet uplifting approach to death. Donne s poem, The Sunne Rising, expounds how his view of life is shaped by relationships. We see this as the poet defies the natural order by apostrophising the Sun, Busie old foole. In Donne s context, the Sun was seen as the centre of the natural world and the source of energy and life. Donne s irritated, jesting tone denounces the Sun s power when compared with his lover. This is seen through the metaphorical description, This bed thy centre is, these walls, thy sphere, which extrapolates the apotheosistic nature of his relationship, and is ... This area is incredibly interesting because art is being destroyed right under our noses, not many people understand the impact of the history behind these works of art that are now destroyed, and it happens over and over throughout human history. What is very peculiar about this is that not many people really consider the motivation behind all of the destruction and vandalism. This begs the question, what causes political organizations to destroy works of art in their quest for political power? For the past few years the world has begun to really understand the affects and the power that the terrorist organization Islamic State holds. The main source of media coverage of Islamic state ranges from the murdering of innocent people to the destruction of ancient works of art.
