The Three Reasons Of Chivalry In The Modern Society
In this technologically advanced world, there is an element that is missing. In everyday life, there used
to be chivalry: holding open doors, pulling a chair out for a woman, and even the phrase ¨ladies go
first.¨ Chivalry is courteous acts and gallant behavior, especially toward women, also known as the
gentleman. There are very few modern gentleman and that is the problem with today s world. Not to
mention, all of society has lost respect for each other. There are three main reasons that chivalry has
disappeared, the addiction to social media, the general lack of manners, and finally, women
themselves. There is no way to solve a problem that no one cares about. Unfortunately, not a whole lot
of people care about chivalry, and the basic respect for all men. Ergo, there is no guaranteed solution,
but maybe if the general public agree to teach some sort of chivalrous content in public schools, we
could start something big. The first reason that there are very few gentleman left, is the fact that this
generation relies so heavily on social media. According to a study from the family technology
education non profit group, Common Sense Media, ¨teens are spending more than one third of their
days using media such as online video or music nearly nine hours on average,¨ therefore people are
distracted by their devices. Individuals spend so much time on their phone, that they do not feel like
talking to people they would rather text. Even so, there is no worry anymore because

Loyalty In Edith Wharton s The House Of Mirth
In the average monopoly game, each player races to riches and financial stability while forcing other
players into bankruptcy. In the end, the winner is the one who has bankrupted all his opponents and
becomes the wealthiest out of all his peers. In Edith Wharton s House of Mirth, Lily s life represents a
player in monopoly wherein the end, the winner takes all. The first move can be the most important,
most vital move. It sets the speed, the tone, and the direction of the game. Lily Bart has her mind set
on the lavish life, and she is not going to let anyone stop her nor any bills or expenses. She had the
bourgeoisie life set in her mind from her mother. She was a spender. Whatever Lily s father would

It is no accident that the one who pays most regularly is also the one with the scantest means for
nonpayment (Dimock 382). Bertha was the cheater. She cheated on her husband, lied on Lily, and had
a secret relationship with Ned Silverton. On top of that, she had letters written back and forth to
Seldon. , yet, she came out clean. Lily ended up being blamed for everything, her husband was in
distress, and if the letters got out, Seldon would ve been in trouble as well. The same goes for Ned.
Bertha left her peers on thin ice. On the other hand, Lily is penalized then, not for breaking the rules

Analysis Of Sudden Shower Over Shin-Ohashi Bridge And Atake
Japan is often recognized as a land of peace, beauty, and diverse landscapes and climates that cannot
be witnessed anywhere else on the planet. A majority of Japanese citizens practice Shintoism, a
polytheistic religion whose gods exist within plants and animals. Because of this, an appreciation for
nature is ingrained deep into the foundation of Japan s values. This can be seen throughout the country
s entire history; much of its art and poetry has been focused solely on its natural beauty. Sudden
Shower Over Shin Ohashi Bridge and Atake is a famous Japanese woodblock print by Utagawa
Hiroshige published in 1857, one of many that shows an appreciation for Japan s beautiful landscapes.
The print belongs the ukiyo e genre that emerged between the 17th and 19th century. Ukiyo e literally
translates to pictures of the floating world and the style dominated the art of Japan s Edo Period. What
began as a reflection of Japan s indulgent and hedonistic culture, portraying subjects like beautiful
women and extravagant scenes from the Kabuki theater, gradually transitioned into capturing
landscapes and the lives of average people. Hiroshige was one of the pioneers of this transition with
his famed One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, a 119 piece series that features celebrated landscapes
in his hometown of Edo, known as Tokyo today, and his last great success before his death. Sudden
Shower Over Shin Ohashi Bridge and Atake is one of the pieces that belong to his series.

Abortion And Abortion
Abortion is a serious ethical dilemma. The practice is not a recent one, there being evidence of the
procedure dating back several millennia and neither is the controversy that comes with it, with records
of laws regulating abortion appearing in texts and manuscripts from a range of civilizations
throughout the years. There has been much debate over whether abortion is a morally sound practice,
and the divisive nature of the issue has resulted in centuries of contention. Many notable figures and
organizations have made use of numerous religious, legal, and ethical standpoints to develop positions
for and against abortion. This essay will be taking a look at abortion through the lens of two normative
ethical theories: Utilitarianism and Deontology, as understood through John Stuart Mill s
Utilitarianism and Immanuel Kant s Groundwork of the Metaphysic of Morals respectively.
Utilitarianism is an ethical theory that claims that the best action one can perform is the one that
brings about the most pleasure, happiness or utility. Utilitarianism is extremely consequentialist in
nature, focusing solely on the results of one s actions and not on intentions or other notions of ideas
such as justice or humanity. There are two main branches of utilitarianism: act utilitarianism and rule
utilitarianism. Act utilitarianism essentially states that whether an action is right or wrong depends on
its particular consequences. Rule utilitarianism states that whether an action is right or wrong depends
in part on similar actions, and how those actions promote pleasure/happiness. Rule utilitarianism came
about as a response to criticisms of act utilitarianism, which claimed act utilitarianism was not feasible
as an ethical theory in that it would be impossible to make decisions that actually promote the greatest
utility in every instance one is required to act. Rule utilitarians believe that instead of making an
individual judgement and decision based on anticipated utility when faced with a situation, it would be
better to establish general rules to follow that, when followed, typically reap the greatest utility. Both
rule utilitarianism and act utilitarianism would presumably have different takes on whether abortion is

Psychotic Break In The Wanderer
In The Wanderer , the speaker tells us about the events of an attack on his town and people. He is the
only person that makes it through. Longing for a reconnection to human life, he travels through empty
lands looking to replace his dead lord, kinsmen, and friends. The only connection he has to human life
along this journey are his memories. Solitude makes the speaker believe that all things on earth come
to a tragic end. The poem The Wanderer by Anglo Saxons is about social isolation and reveals a
psychotic break. Essentially, the speaker s psychotic break originates from three main things that
happen to him. The first event, that started his decline in mental health, is the war that wiped out his
people. According to NAMI, A traumatic event such as a death, war or sexual assault can trigger a
psychotic episode (Early Psychosis). The speaker tells us that he has gone through both war and many
deaths. The next element that contributes to his deterioration is his ... Show more content on

On several occasions, the speaker tells the reader about his hallucinations. For instance, he says
Sometimes it seems I see my lord, / Kiss and embrace him... (110). Seeing and touching his lord is an
example of not only visual hallucination but also a kinesthetic hallucination. The speaker using the
word sometimes at the beginning of the sentence signifies this wasn t a one time occurrence. In the
article Early Psychosis and Psychosis, it states that psychotic breaks typically involve hallucinations
(Early Psychosis). In addition, the speaker says Everything earthly is evilly born,... (111). The reader
can infer that the speaker believes all things are malicious and against him. In other words, the speaker
is paranoid. As reported by Nall, paranoia is an example of a psychotic symptom (Nall). Paranoia

Hidden Themes In The Movie Twelve Angry Man
Twelve Angry Man has a lot of great, hidden themes throughout the movie. One of these themes is
that prejudice can block someone from the truth. This theme is present throughout the movies
characters, more specifically, in the jurors three, seven, and ten. The third juror is the old man that
yells a lot, swears a lot, and insults almost every person that changes their votes. He believes the kid
on trial is guilty because he specifically said, I will kill you; no matter of evidence changes his vote.
We find out at the end the reason he wants this kid to be on death road. The third juror breaks down
mentally in front of the other jurors, he wants this boy to go to jail because he talks about how these
kids do not respect their ends. This

The Changing Face of Children s Literature
Children s literature is always changing. It has evolved greatly over the generations. Children did not
have their own stories in ancient times. Instead, they listened to oral storytellers who would recite
stories I tended for adults to hear. Over time it became apparent that children needed there own stories.
Moral stories and educational writing started to be written with children in mind. As printed books for
children became more accessible, stories started to focus on entertaining children as well as educating
them.
Today, children s literature has stories that are focused on children and offer real life views and vivid
fantasy alike. Children s literature has progressed from simply oral folktales to the child focused
stories we see today. All literature started with storytelling. Our ancestors told stories for comfort,
instruction, entertainment and to teach their culture and religion. Storytelling has been a huge part of
cultures all around the world. In ancient times, there was no difference between children s literature
and adult literature. Children listened to the same stories that their parents listened to.
Defining what children s literature is seems like an easy task at first. However, it is really not as
simple as it sounds. What is literature for children? If a book is written with children in mind is it still
considered a children s book if adults read it? Likewise, is a book intended for adults still and adult s
book of it is read and enjoyed by

Social Media Is Not The Only Reason For The Privacy
Privacy, it is the one thing that we seem to not have enough of. But the question must be asked, Whose
fault is that? The answer is quite simple, ours. Social media is the number one cause of lack of
privacy. It is something about social media that make us loose our sense of reason and place all sorts
of personal information on the Internet for all the world to see. But, social media is not the only reason
for the privacy breech. There are many reasons, and computer hackers are just one. Our email
information is sold, bank loans, mortgages, and the list could go on and on.
Computers are one of the world s greatest inventions, and sadly, one of the worst. Thanks to
computers, there are so many things we can do from the comfort of our own home. We can do our
banking online, pay our bills, go to school, look for jobs, and so on. Computers have made us all lazy.
They have also made us unconcerned, at least up until recently, with our privacy. We all know there
are bad people in this world, but it seems to be that we have forgotten that there are some very, very
smart people in this world as well. It took a very smart person to invent the computer, to figure out the
inner workings. But if one person can do this many can do this. Enter the computer hacker.
A computer hacker is someone who can break into your computer and steal whatever information you
have in your system. All of your private information that you think is safe, is not safe anymore. These
hackers can take the

Charles Dickens Great Expectations
Many people say that writing is nothing more than a way of the author to express himself. This is true
in many cases but none as much as in Great Expectations. In many ways the narrator/protagonist Pip
is Charles Dickens in body and mind. While there are many differences between the story and Charles
Dickens life there remains one constant. This constant is the way Pip as the narrator feels, because
these feelings are Dickens s own feelings about the life he lead. Since Great Expectations was written
towards end of Charles Dickens life, he was wiser and able to make out the mistakes and regrets of his
life, and Pip experiences them all. While Great Expectations is seen as a tragic book not many people
really think about where these themes come from, and when the book is read with the knowledge of
Dickens life it truly reveals new meanings.
Charles John Huffam Dickens born February 7th, 1812, was born a poor man. When Charles Dickens
was 12 his father John Dickens was sent to jail because he had too much debt. Since Charles father
was sent to jail Charles had to drop out of school and join a shoe blacking company. When Charles no
longer had to work he felt betrayed by his parents for making him do what was their rightful job,
taking care of the family. He thought that the second he started working for that company his youth
was gone. Once his father had received the family inheritance Charles was able to go to school again
and his father was released from jail. When

Teachers Day
Teacher s Day In India
Since times immemorial, Indians have respected and idolized their teachers. Earlier, we used to call
our teachers
Guru and now it s the contemporary Sir or Madam . Nevertheless, the role of teachers has remained
the same.
They were, are and will continue to be our guiding light, creating conditions conducive to our overall
development. We will always be thankful to them for their constructive support. It is as an expression
of this gratitude only that we celebrate Teacher s Day in India.
Teacher s Day is a tribute to the hard work and devotion of the teachers all year long, to educate a

Teachers Day is very important for all the people in India, as the teachers act as foundation for
creating responsible citizens and good human beings. It is impossible to imagine our lives without
teachers. They are the cornerstone of our future. We can never thank our teachers enough for their
immense contribution in our life. Teacher s Day is celebrated to show our acknowledgement and
recognition of the hard work put in by our teachers towards our development.
Schools all over India celebrate Teacher s Day by allowing the senior students to pose as teachers for a
day. It is a fun filled activity, which is enjoyed by both the acting teachers and their junior students.
On this day, students bring gifts for their most admired teachers as well. It is an equally special day for
teachers, as they get to know how much they are liked and appreciated by their students. Gifts to
teachers include flowers, greeting cards and other items. Some students also write poems and
messages for teachers.
Students look forward to Teacher s Day with a lot of anticipation, for the sheer spirit of the occasion.
Acting as teachers, they get a fair idea of the responsibility, so efficiently burdened by their teachers. It
requires a lot of hard work and dedication to be a good teacher and earn the fondness of the students at
the same time. Teachers, on this day, are reminded of their school days and feel nostalgic. All in all, it

Rent Essay
Waking up the next morning knowing rent is knocking on your door is a critical moment. Growing up
in New York City, one of the most expensive places to live in, especially with only one parent working
is a scramble. It was an experience living for despite the struggles my family and I endeavored
throughout our lifetime in the city. Driver s licenses were exchanged for metro cards, squirrels were
replaced with pizza carrying subway rats and many of my school trips consisted of seeing Broadway
shows, rather than visiting museums. My mother and father are immigrants who have come from
another country, Bangladesh. It was a struggle for them to adapt to the city about more than a decade
ago which was when they arrived here. That was the time when rent and prices weren t as high as it is
now in the present. Being one of the three children of two immigrant parents, life wasn t impartially
facile. To live in New York City, my parents had to work diligently and have more concerns rather
than enjoying life out in the alluring city. It wasn t soon until great news came. As a child, I optically
canvassed my parents struggle to build a life for our family in America. Like so many immigrants,
they experience inauspicious commencements. My father eventually secured a position working at a

The Baddest Dog in Harlem
You ll have to be tough to live in your American skin
When we go to school or to our jobs we don t have many worries. The worries we could have could be
Oh no, there s a test today or Oh no, my boss wants me to do some paperwork but what if we had to
live in fear instead of worries? If in the morning we should fear to go to school or job because of the
place we are living in, that we had to say properly goodbye to your family every day, what would that
do to us?
The Baddest Dog in Harlem is writen by Walter Dean Myers and it is a fictional short story. The short
story takes place in Harlem, at 145th street[1]. It could be in a year not far from the present, because
of the technology used in the short story, such as cars[2] and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The song American Skin (41 shots) by Bruce Springsteen also gives a good perspective of how it is in
America. He sings No secret my friend, you can get killed just for living in, your American Skin[9]
The similarities in the two texts is the theme. They are both trying to show how the world is every day
for some people in America and to have an influence on us, make us think about those who aren t as
fortunate as we are and how we should appreciate our way of living.
I really think the short story and the song as well gives you something to think about. I believe the
environment the narrator lives in makes him tough. When you re living in a ghetto or an environment
which is rough, you ll have to be tough even though you on the inside is falling apart. And I think that
s what the narrator goes through. They are used to guns and crime, therefore are they not so afraid of
the police and the situation and also the kids have it like this. But when the narrator sees the boy, he
doesn t want to speak about it. It s sad and it seems like this happens too often and this are the
moments were the environment have made you tough.

The Divine Comedy By Virgil And Dante
Relationships come in many forms with varying troubles and blessings. In the book, The Divine
Comedy, two of the main characters, Virgil and Dante, can have a seemingly simple relationship, but
when closely examined and reflected on, it is actually quite complex. They venture through the depths
of hell, the complications of a long journey, and the perplexing reality of purgatory. Throughout their
relationship they are faced with different gains and trials that they react to in various ways. Their
circumstances are always changing and the course is rough, but throughout the entirety of their
venture together, there remains one constant element, and that is the love they share in their
relationship. It is outwardly expressed through their actions and words throughout the entirety of the
book.
The question I came across in reading The Divine Comedy is:
Why does Dante use different terms to address Virgil? What do they mean or what is their
significance? How does the development of their relationship affect the story as a whole?
The most common name used by Dante is My guide , which is the most logical name he would use to
call Virgil. This is because Virgil is leading Dante through all these different journeys, taking every
step right by his side. Virgil has an understanding of Dante s uncertainty, and takes him under his
wing. He was chosen for Dante to guide him and that is why Dante uses the possessive my to refer to
him because Virgil was specifically provided

Gary The Glove Payton was the face of the Seattle SuperSonics franchise from 1990 to his departure

In 1996 Payton edged himself into NBA history, winning the defensive player of the year award as a

The Effects Of Monopolies On The Economy Essay
Monopolies People have been doing anything in their power to gain money. Many think they are
leading the competition with doing nothing wrong. Others see it as unfair to do the things that
monopolies have done to society. Lawsuits have been made to stop the ones behind this, but some
monopolies weren t always out to hurt the economy, but to help it. Monopolies have impacted this
economy in the past and even to this day. Way back in 1932, Charles todd and his wife decided to
introduce a new game to some fellow friends. It was a real estate board game. They sat around playing
the game by rolling the dice and buy properties. The couple liked it so much that they asked Charles if
he would make them their own set to play with. Charles began to show more and more people the
game, and then began applying more and more rules to it. Many began to ask the name of the game,
and where it came from. They also asked about the rules, who had come up with them. Charles had no
answer for them. Where it did start was in 1903 from woman named Elizabeth Magie that lived in
Washington DC. She spent many late nights trying to come up with a perfect board game. The main
idea she a was going for was a game that represented current day s political problems. Drawing after
drawing she finally had the game. Elizabeth spoke to the public about her game. The game included
buying and selling railways, houses, hotels, paying taxes, collecting annual income, and if you

Cultural Heritage Of The French Tourism
Tourism in France is an important activity, both for the French who choose to spend their holidays,
and foreigners who come to stay. Thus, since 1990, France became the first tourist destination in the
world. The tourist attraction of France is due to the large number and wide variety of points of interest,
diversity of landscapes, the rich cultural and artistic heritage, the temperate climate and ease of access
and transport infrastructure, but also the important equipment in the country and varied reception
facilities (hotels, amusement parks...). Thus, each department is a French tourist department with
several points of interest. France has a rich well known cultural heritage, favored by many sites listed
as World Heritage of UNESCO. The French tourism has many different facets and positive economic
impacts and France makes every effort to maintain the liveliness of this important asset. The history of
tourism in France began around 1760 in the south of France in Hyeres, becoming a common winter
resort renowned among UK thanks to its relatively mild Mediterranean climate. In 1910 Alexandre
Millerand, the French Minister of Public Works at the time, created the first tourism office, with the

that covers his entourage will then change since we will be more aware of our surroundings. We

History And Culture Of Peru
Peru is located in South America and is about the size of Alaska. It has an area of 496,226 square
miles and was first believed to be inhabited by migrants from Asia in 6000 BC. These inhabitants
relied on hunting and the collection of plants and fruits to stay alive. Small communities were
established by 5000 BC, and the farming of cotton, chili peppers, squash, maize (almost identical to
corn), and beans initiated. The early settlers populated mostly near the coast which allowed them to
utilize the wet climate to plant seeds. Peru was also one of the first places where potatoes were grown.
The Peruvian cuisine consists mostly of spicy dishes. Chili ( Aji in Spanish) is the most common spice
in Peru. It is used to give foods extra flavor.

A Humanitarian Crisis In Syria
What comes to mind when you hear a country is going through a humanitarian crisis? Perhaps
destruction, genocide, surveillance, propaganda, civilians not having a voice, and much more. This is
what happened in the city of Aleppo in Syria. Aleppo was one of the oldest city with marvelous
medieval architecture, rich cultural history, and its popularity in tourism. Aleppo was an open museum
and a home to two and half million people, but all of that was lost in the Battle of Aleppo. Syria is
ruled by the dictator Bashar al Assad and has been in power for seventeen years. Assad restricted
Syrian civilians from freedom of speech and according to CNN gave the government broad power to
detain people for perceived threats to national security (CNN). ... Show more content on

It is strongly suggested that Assad has used chemical weapons on his own people but till this day he
denies it. In September 2015 Russa became involved backing Assad s soldiers and pounding rebel
groups with airstrikes repeatedly. Moreover, reports of civilian massacres at the hands of Assad s
soldiers quickly filter out the city. The neighborhoods are destroyed making it very difficult to live
there, but some people have nowhere to go and have no choice but to stay. Kids are wandering the city
while explosions are going off every few seconds. In the Vice episode Assad s Syria Isabella the
interviewer comes across three men sitting play a game and she find it rather weird that they had not
left yet, but the men said they have nowhere else to go. She also asked if they were scared because she
was wearing a bullet vest and they were just sitting in their normal clothes. The men replied that they
are used to hearing the explosions and they had accepted the fact that at any time they could die. This

The U.S. Border Patrol
In 1924, the U.S. Border Patrol started its service for our nation. Although changes have affected
nearly every aspect of its operations from its earliest days, the values; professionalism, honor,
integrity, respect for human life, and a shared effort, helped shape the Border Patrol from the early
years and they still remain the same today. Since the very beginning agents have been patrolling our
borders, Mounted watchmen of the U.S. Immigration Service patrolled the border in an effort to
prevent illegal crossings as early as 1904 (Border Patrol History, web). The agent s efforts were
undertaken only when resources permitted. The inspectors were all out of El Paso, Texas, Though they
never totaled more than seventy five, they patrolled as far west as California trying to restrict the flow
of illegal Chinese immigration (Border Patrol History, web). In 1915, Congress approved a separate
group of Mounted Guards, often called Mounted Inspectors. Most rode on horseback, but a few
operated cars and even boats. Although these inspectors had broader arrest authority, they still largely
pursued Chinese immigrants trying to avoid the Chinese exclusion laws. The agents were immigrant
inspectors, assigned to inspection stations, and could not watch the border at all times, Texas Rangers
were also often assigned to patrol duties by the state, and their efforts were noted as singularly
effective (Border Patrol History, web). Customs violations and intercepting communications to

Cause And Effects Of Prohibition
What would happen if one were to prohibit all alcohol production and consumption? Well, it happened
before, from the Prohibition movement. Prohibition dates back to the early days of America, when it
was still a colony. However, due to it being a mostly orthodox movement, it had not gained much
traction. Until, in the late 1800s and early 1900s, Prohibition s popularity surged; most notably, in
1873 when a group of nuns and their followers sang and prayed in front of a drugstore in Hillsboro,
Ohio (Hill 10). This influx of support led to the passing of the 18th Amendment, the only Amendment
to ever be repealed. Whether the boost in popularity is due mostly to the increasing amount of
Christians, crime dramas, or immigration may never be known. Yet, the causes and laws of Prohibition
did play a significant role in the 1920s because they showed the influence of lobby groups socially and
federally, taught cautionary lessons about American law and policy, and it greatly influenced our
relations with other countries, specifically Canada.
Firstly, Prohibition prominently displayed the power and influence of a lobby group in social and
government spheres. For example, the Women s War can be attributed to the closing of over 25,000
drinking establishments (Hill 12). This shows the major effects that the ASL, Anti Saloon League, had
on the social perceptions on drinking; the establishments only closed because they were either visited
by large mobs of people or were suspecting they

It s Robotic Arm Hovers
With the click of a button, a small machine buzzes to life. It s robotic arm hovers, lowers, then
promptly repositions to hold a pair of syringes over a set of petri dishes. With short, rapid bursts the
syringes release a milky white paste, forming tiny little hexagons in each dish. After only a few
minutes they grow, resembling small honeycomb shaped structures. But these are no ordinary
honeycombs they re human livers (Tomo News). These small phenomenon of biomedical engineering
are identical to tissue samples of the real thing and constructed from actual human cells. But instead of
being grown in the lab or taken from a donor, the biomedical professionals at Organovo print them,
just like they would a document. In the past two decades, 3 D printing has grown from a niche
manufacturing process to a $2.7 billion industry, responsible for the fabrication of all sorts of things:
toys, jewelry, machine parts, and even food (Griggs). But now scientists are working to apply that
same technology to the field of medicine. In labs around the world, like the one at Organovo,
scientists have begun to print prototype body parts including heart valves, ears, artificial bone, joints,
menisci, vascular tubes, and skin grafts, ( Bioprinting ). The innovation of this technology lies in the
fact that it generates actual living human cells, allowing for the reproduction of organs and tissue that

During The Great Tribulation
The Great Tribulation has become a hot topic of conversation for many evangelists. Terrorist attacks
across the world, deadly war inhabiting our nation s, pandemic diseases and other natural phenomenon
have brought light onto the up and coming subject, the end of times. According to the Bible, the
Tribulation is a time of misery and persecution of the followers of Christ. Furthermore, the New
Testament uses the word tribulation to signify a time period of distress before the return of Jesus
Christ. Nonetheless, during the Great Tribulation, believers believe the Lord will accomplish two
important aspects of his holy prophecy. In Daniel 9:24, the following verse reveals the first step of the
Lord s plan Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city, to finish the
transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal

Conforming to the following passage the message portrayed is that the Lord will complete his
discipline on his nation during a time period denoted as the tribulation. According to Revelation 6 18,
the second aspect of the Lord s plan is revealed. The verses state he will judge the unbelievers that
inhabit the sin filled earth. From a biblical point of view unbelievers are people who are classified as
those who deny Jesus is God s son. Unbelievers do not believe in or follow prophecies that the Lord
preaches. According to the books of Daniel and Revelation, the tribulation period of judgment, will
last 7 years. In a manner conforming to the messages in the bible, the Lord uses mercy to inform and

Rueter (1995) provides a detailed look into the world of politics during the civil rights era. Rueter
asserts that prior to the civil rights era, the Republican Party was not as effective in gaining rights for
minorities compared to proposals made by the Democratic Party in the 1960s. He states that it was
clear to minorities that the Democratic Party was more supportive of civil rights versus Republicans
due to their lack of voting support of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
Because of this, Republicans were seen as being against minorities due to their lack of cooperation
with the Democratic Party to end segregation and with President Johnson to allow equal voting rights
(240 1). The Civil Rights Act of 1964 barred unequal application of voter registration requirements,
outlawed discrimination in public accommodations engaged in interstate commerce, encouraged the
desegregation of public schools and authorized the U. S. Attorney General to file suits to force
desegregation, authorized the withdrawal of federal funds from programs which practiced
discrimination, and outlawed discrimination in employment in any business (Loevy 1997, 211 3).
According to Klarman (2004) the civil rights movement caused southerners to cling to the Republican
Party and gave the Democratic Party more momentum to further support minority interests. The

Women In Medieval Times
A woman in medieval times was not considered a person, but property. A woman would be forced to
wear layers of drab clothing, the style determining their social class ranking. A woman of wealth
would wear decadent gowns and women in poverty would wear plain spun dresses. Their goal in life
was to find a husband, to give in to his whims and be the epitome of submission. Sometimes, peasant
girls would be forced to take up a trade prior to marriage. After the marriage, she was forced to give
up this trade, the skill she possessed, and either maintain the lifestyle as a housewife, or help her
husband with his trade. In regards to whom a woman married, there was little to no choice in the

A woman s alternative would be becoming a nun, giving up all social freedoms and dedicating your
life to serving the poor and God. Women who were subject to this life received a much more thorough
education than other women, in order to properly learn religious concepts and theory. Otherwise, a
woman s education was limited to basic reading abilities paired with instruction on how to do homely
activities. A woman of this time period had utterly no voice in politics. Law was man s law. The life of
these women were controlled by the men who surround them, their opinions meaning little to nothing.
The life of a woman in medieval times was bleak and varied little. Romantic literature was on the rise,
full of damsels in distress that only further perpetuated negative stereotypes of women during these
times. These romances were full of helpless women in situations only a man could get them out of, or
else they would be doomed. Despite this cultural oppression of women in this time period, some

On Laziness By Christopher Morley Summary
Generally, lazy people are not admired. Society, as a whole, prefers those who are willing and able to
actively and positively contribute to its progress. Effort is praised while indifference can typically be
seen as shameful. Christopher Morley understands this. In his short essay, On Laziness, he indirectly
confronts the slothful in an effort to make them see the error of their ways. Morley deals with the topic
of laziness in a overly sarcastic and satirical tone to stress the absurdity of the trait. Early in his essay,
Morley utilizes irony that made it evident that his essay on the supposed benefits of laziness is meant
to be treated as a satire. He in no way is actually believing what he is explicitly stating. The opening
statement can only reasonably be viewed as an intentional joke. Morley claims that he intends to write
an essay on Laziness but [is] too indolent to [even] do so. Yet, the paper does not end here; he
continues on and completes an entire academic essay, blatantly contradicting his first sentence in it. If
Morley stays true to his words and fully believes in the value of idleness, no work would have been
made to defend it. He makes the sarcasm even more obvious through his deliberate choice of words.
While criticizing activeness and energy, Morley spoke of having a determined effort to be more
languid and demure. It is paradoxical to try to be lazy. Putting in effort and making an attempt to be so
goes against its basic definition. Morley provides examples of where laziness was shown to be
virtuous. However, he purposely makes them flawed and highly debatable, forcing the slothful to
consider if there is in actuality a strong case for their behavior. Morley initially calls upon recent
history for proof. He reminds the audience of the Great War the essay being written in 1920 shortly
after it ended and declares that the world would have been spared a great deal... if the Germans had
been as lazy, as indifferent, and as righteously laissez fairish as their neighbours... This is a bold claim.
War is an atrocious ordeal whose causes are complex and cannot solely be blamed on one group of
people. Many including the toughest advocate for indolence will not support the idea that the

The Influence Of Amoxicillin On Peroxidase Activity And...
Amoxicillin has no Effect on Peroxidase Activity and Growth Rate of Raphanus sativus L
Abstract:
The prolific use of antibiotics in agricultural operations is raising concern because it is fed to their
livestock, which is then excreted into the soil. The antibiotic concentration in the soil is producing
antibiotic resistant bacteria. Plants that get exposed to this type of soil get their biochemistry
disrupted. The following study was conducted as an attempt to determine if plant growth rate and
peroxidase activity were two factors that are affected by the presence of antibiotics. To test this out, a
specific amoxicillin water solution was given to eight treatment plants. These plants were then
compared to eight control plants. By statistically analyzing the data obtained using ANOVA, it was
found that the null hypothesis was supported and that the antibiotic treatment had no significant effect
on either growth or peroxidase activity.
Introduction:
Since the discovery of antibiotics in the 20th century its use has widely prevailed. While its
introduction to the medicine industry has brought many benefits like almost eradicating some
diseases, its use is now bringing concern to public health. Antibiotics are excessively being used that
the possibility of antibiotic resistant bacteria is a major risk. One huge source of antibiotic
consumption comes from the agricultural business. Livestock like swine and poultry are fed
subtherapeutic antibiotics as

the United States assuming possession was viewed as a solution as opposed to an invasion. In 1868,
Carlos M. Céspedes began the Cuban independence movement. In 1887, the Filipino national
consciousness was awakened by a publication by José Rizal. Trouble continued to stir until 1895 when
Cubans began fighting for their independence. The revolution had begun. United States President
William McKinley wished to remain neutral on the subject and let Spain settle its own disputes. As
months went by, two main events would change the mindsets of President McKinley and the
American people. In February 1898, the US intercepted a letter from the Spanish Ambassador to the
King of Spain. The De Lome Letter as it would be named stated that President McKinley was to weak
to go to war with Spain. On February 9, William Randolph Hearst published the letter in his
newspaper The New York Journal. This letter combined with the yellow journalism of Hearst and
Joseph Pulitzer outraged American citizens.

The Train Speeding Along The Tracks Beneath Me
I could hear the sound of the train speeding along the tracks beneath me. Looking outside my window,
I could see a blur of parched grass and vast paddocks of sheep drinking from lakes.
I was in a dim mood. My parents had sent me away from our home town Braedon to spend time with
my grandmother in the country town of Redwood, because, as they bluntly put it, she wouldn t be
around for many more years. I didn t mind visiting my grandpa, but I hated that the fact that I had to
travel out of Braedon. I loved the city the convenience of only being five minutes away from the
shops, carpets of sand stretching across the beach at my doorstep, a joyous community and my friends,
only a short text away.
I was seated opposite to a casually dressed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I travel, no matter how different the place is to Braedon, I often feel an instant connection. It s
the small details which lead me to find a love for the city. Say, like last year, I found my way into a
remote village in Kenya. It was unforgettable. I can still picture the welcoming locals, smiling at me
and the other tourists...
For the remaining hour of the trip, I reflected on my opinion of travelling. All my life, I lived in the
city and due to my routined lifestyle, I was rarely anywhere unfamiliar. I disliked travelling as I feared
being alone, facing something new. Yet after talking to Chris, I began to realise the golden opportunity
I had to experience all the world had to offer to me.
Eventually, the train had come to a halt at my stop Redwood. The deserted train station, which catered
for the whole town, was tiny, with only two short platforms. Along the flat landscape, I could see rows
of houses and the town s church, the steeple proudly and loftily reaching to the clear blue sky.
I farewelled Chris and got off the train with my suitcase. The air was crisp, clean and clear. I thought
of the dusty city air and gridlocked streets with car fumes. How big was this difference? I decided to
forget my past impressions of Redwood and instead try to enjoy my stay with my grandpa.

South Africa Memo
The purpose of this memo is to help the team get a better idea of what this trip to South Africa is for.
Also to inform the team of things we all need to know while we are in South Africa.
Summary
We will be partnering up with a business on South Africa. We will be working closely with their team.
We will be working out of an office in Downtown Cape Town. While we are on this trip we have to
keep in mind the proper business etiquette in South Africa. We have to be respectful and
understanding of business in South Africa. Although it similar to the United States yet it is different in
some ways. We have to look at different things we may encounter while we are there such as language
barriers, meetings, proper attire and different business aspects. ... Show more content on

We will all be meeting up prior to our flight. We will all be on the same flight to South Africa.
Everyone needs to ensure they have their passports and work visa. Without these items you would not
be able to attend the trip.
Arrival
Upon arrival on Saturday we will be heading to a hotel that is located downtown Cape Town. The
hotel is relatively close to the office we will be working out of. It will be an easy commute back and
forth to the office on foot. The office is a 4 5 minute walk from the hotel. Saturday and Sunday will be
rest days and for everyone to be prepared for Mondays meeting.
Proper dress etiquette
We are to all wear business attire while we are working. The first meeting should consist of men
wearing a dark conservative suit. Women should wear a dark conservative suit or a modest dress. They
tend to look more presentation verses material things so we should all be ironing our clothing and
polishing out shoes. We need to get off to great start and show our new partners we are serious about
conducting business with them.
Weather
The weather in South Africa is not always warm or hot. We need to dress according. The weather will
get as low as 55 degrees while we are here. So everyone needs to pack and dress accordingly. Meeting

What Is My Inspiration Essay
Inspiration doesn t mean trying to impersonate your idol. It means that they have left an impact on
your life that has moved you so much that you make it your quest to pass on that impact to others, so
that they are inspired to do the same. The cycle will go on forever. I have been inspired by number of
people ranging from members of my family, friends, to great personalities who obviously do not know
of my existence on this planet! Some of them are so influential that their motivation and determination
will enable me to reach greater heights. A few inspire me to do better in anticipation that I will make
them proud. In all this, there has been a special personality who has helped me to perceive the brighter
side of striving to achieve excellence.
Jamsetji Tata, a visionary, a seer, a man of action who single handedly built a flourishing empire till

could have been the secret that allowed him to build a dynasty?

Leaders must always be humble and be grateful to the ones that have helped them along their way to
success. Great leaders should be more like Jamsetji Tata because then, they too will have a vision that
will benefit not only themselves but also the citizens of this country.
Money is not a matter of heart; it is a matter of the mind. If you have the will power, you can live
without craving for money. This is what I would like the leaders of today to incorporate into their
lives. This is the main reason Jamsetji thrived. He did not care about the size of his wallet at the end of
his day. He only cared about whether or not he did something for the citizens of the nation.
I wouldn t be wrong if I said that without his vision that was the cornerstone of the Tata group,
Munnar would never be what it is

How We Got Over Chapter Summary
How We Got Over is book full of selected speeches vocalized by Dr. John A. Peoples, Jr., a former
President of Jackson State University. The selected speeches cover topics centered around African
Americans, specifically African American education. Most of the speeches, compiled in the book by
Dr. John A. Peoples, Jr. himself, are from his Jackson State University Founders Day speeches. The
speeches are arranged chronologically, and some of the speeches are given discrete introductions to
elucidate the concern, purpose, or problem being addressed (Peoples ix). The book s title is a little
misleading because one underlying theme of the entire book is that the struggles for African
Americans are not over. Even though some of the speeches were voiced as far back as 1950, many of
the author s subject matter and presented perspectives are applicable to the today s society, most
unambiguously the African American community. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dr. Peoples begins his compilation of speeches with a speech he gave as valedictorian of Jackson State
College on May 24, 1950. The speech addresses the inverse relationship between man s progress in
solving physical problems and his progress solving social problems (2). Dr. Peoples ends the speech
by asserting to his fellow graduates that as graduates, they must attack society s issues head on, and be
leaders to the African American community to solve society s social problems (4). That speech, given
by a young John A. Peoples, Jr., presents the fundamental purpose by which he has lived. This purpose
of being a courageous leader and problem solver sets forth the foundation for all of the following
speeches compiled in the

Discuss the Graphic Design Styles and t Essay
Discuss the Graphic Design Styles and Techniques of Propaganda and Persuasion used by the Nazi
Government 1933 1939
Nothing is easier than leading the people on a leash. I just hold up a dazzling campaign poster and
they jump through it. (Goebbels, 1934). By the time Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in
1933, he already understood the power that propaganda could have on the masses; so quickly hired
Joseph Goebbels as Reich Minister of Propaganda to control the news, media and art in Germany.
Propaganda then grew to become a very strong and powerful tool for the Nazi party up to and
throughout the Second World War under Goebbels power. Propaganda is the use of, usually, biased or
misleading information within design, media, news ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The large sections of flat colour across the athlete s shirt and body suggest the use of woodblock
printing, relating back to the traditional Japanese style; that, and the use of the very traditional Fraktur
font, restrains the poster from looking too modern or un German. He has also positioned the athlete s
limbs to reflect a similar shape to a swastika, which is emphasised by her black shorts and the flag
behind her. This shows how the Nazi party had a strong power over everything that the public saw,
even to the subtle shapes created with a form.
Goebbels believed that if Hitler was to give speeches, the people should be able to hear him (History
Learning Site, 2013) so made sure radios were sold as cheaply as possible and public places such as
cafes and shops were ordered to broadcast Hitler s speeches so his voice and message could reach as
many people as possible, making it nearly impossible to not hear him. Because of how cheaply
wireless radios, or the People s Receiver as they were called, were sold for, between 1933 and 1939
the number of radio sets sold in Germany quadrupled. The designer Leonid created this image in
1936, which reads, All of Germany Listens to the Leader with the People s Receiver

  • 2. The Three Reasons Of Chivalry In The Modern Society In this technologically advanced world, there is an element that is missing. In everyday life, there used to be chivalry: holding open doors, pulling a chair out for a woman, and even the phrase ¨ladies go first.¨ Chivalry is courteous acts and gallant behavior, especially toward women, also known as the gentleman. There are very few modern gentleman and that is the problem with today s world. Not to mention, all of society has lost respect for each other. There are three main reasons that chivalry has disappeared, the addiction to social media, the general lack of manners, and finally, women themselves. There is no way to solve a problem that no one cares about. Unfortunately, not a whole lot of people care about chivalry, and the basic respect for all men. Ergo, there is no guaranteed solution, but maybe if the general public agree to teach some sort of chivalrous content in public schools, we could start something big. The first reason that there are very few gentleman left, is the fact that this generation relies so heavily on social media. According to a study from the family technology education non profit group, Common Sense Media, ¨teens are spending more than one third of their days using media such as online video or music nearly nine hours on average,¨ therefore people are distracted by their devices. • 4. Analysis Of Sudden Shower Over Shin-Ohashi Bridge And Atake Japan is often recognized as a land of peace, beauty, and diverse landscapes and climates that cannot be witnessed anywhere else on the planet. A majority of Japanese citizens practice Shintoism, a polytheistic religion whose gods exist within plants and animals. Because of this, an appreciation for nature is ingrained deep into the foundation of Japan s values. This can be seen throughout the country s entire history; much of its art and poetry has been focused solely on its natural beauty. Sudden Shower Over Shin Ohashi Bridge and Atake is a famous Japanese woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige published in 1857, one of many that shows an appreciation for Japan s beautiful landscapes. The print belongs the ukiyo e genre that emerged between the 17th and 19th century. Ukiyo e literally translates to pictures of the floating world and the style dominated the art of Japan s Edo Period. What began as a reflection of Japan s indulgent and hedonistic culture, portraying subjects like beautiful women and extravagant scenes from the Kabuki theater, gradually transitioned into capturing landscapes and the lives of average people. Hiroshige was one of the pioneers of this transition with his famed One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, a 119 piece series that features celebrated landscapes in his hometown of Edo, known as Tokyo today, and his last great success before his death. • 5. Abortion And Abortion Abortion is a serious ethical dilemma. The practice is not a recent one, there being evidence of the procedure dating back several millennia and neither is the controversy that comes with it, with records of laws regulating abortion appearing in texts and manuscripts from a range of civilizations throughout the years. There has been much debate over whether abortion is a morally sound practice, and the divisive nature of the issue has resulted in centuries of contention. Many notable figures and organizations have made use of numerous religious, legal, and ethical standpoints to develop positions for and against abortion. This essay will be taking a look at abortion through the lens of two normative ethical theories: Utilitarianism and Deontology, as understood through John Stuart Mill s Utilitarianism and Immanuel Kant s Groundwork of the Metaphysic of Morals respectively. Utilitarianism is an ethical theory that claims that the best action one can perform is the one that brings about the most pleasure, happiness or utility. Utilitarianism is extremely consequentialist in nature, focusing solely on the results of one s actions and not on intentions or other notions of ideas such as justice or humanity. There are two main branches of utilitarianism: act utilitarianism and rule utilitarianism. Act utilitarianism essentially states that whether an action is right or wrong depends on its particular consequences. Rule utilitarianism states that whether an action is right or wrong depends in part on similar actions, and how those actions promote pleasure/happiness. Rule utilitarianism came about as a response to criticisms of act utilitarianism, which claimed act utilitarianism was not feasible as an ethical theory in that it would be impossible to make decisions that actually promote the greatest utility in every instance one is required to act. Rule utilitarians believe that instead of making an individual judgement and decision based on anticipated utility when faced with a situation, it would be better to establish general rules to follow that, when followed, typically reap the greatest utility. Both rule utilitarianism and act utilitarianism would presumably have different takes on whether abortion is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Instead, they listened to oral storytellers who would recite stories I tended for adults to hear. Over time it became apparent that children needed there own stories. Moral stories and educational writing started to be written with children in mind. As printed books for children became more accessible, stories started to focus on entertaining children as well as educating them. Today, children s literature has stories that are focused on children and offer real life views and vivid fantasy alike. Children s literature has progressed from simply oral folktales to the child focused stories we see today. All literature started with storytelling. Our ancestors told stories for comfort, instruction, entertainment and to teach their culture and religion. Storytelling has been a huge part of cultures all around the world. In ancient times, there was no difference between children s literature and adult literature. Children listened to the same stories that their parents listened to. In the book, The Divine Comedy, two of the main characters, Virgil and Dante, can have a seemingly simple relationship, but when closely examined and reflected on, it is actually quite complex. They venture through the depths of hell, the complications of a long journey, and the perplexing reality of purgatory. Throughout their relationship they are faced with different gains and trials that they react to in various ways. Their circumstances are always changing and the course is rough, but throughout the entirety of their venture together, there remains one constant element, and that is the love they share in their relationship. It is outwardly expressed through their actions and words throughout the entirety of the book. The question I came across in reading The Divine Comedy is: Why does Dante use different terms to address Virgil? What do they mean or what is their significance? How does the development of their relationship affect the story as a whole? The most common name used by Dante is My guide , which is the most logical name he would use to call Virgil. This is because Virgil is leading Dante through all these different journeys, taking every step right by his side. Virgil has an understanding of Dante s uncertainty, and takes him under his wing. He was chosen for Dante to guide him and that is why Dante uses the possessive my to refer to him because Virgil was specifically provided ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Aleppo was one of the oldest city with marvelous medieval architecture, rich cultural history, and its popularity in tourism. Aleppo was an open museum and a home to two and half million people, but all of that was lost in the Battle of Aleppo. Although changes have affected nearly every aspect of its operations from its earliest days, the values; professionalism, honor, integrity, respect for human life, and a shared effort, helped shape the Border Patrol from the early years and they still remain the same today. Since the very beginning agents have been patrolling our borders, Mounted watchmen of the U.S. Immigration Service patrolled the border in an effort to prevent illegal crossings as early as 1904 (Border Patrol History, web). The agent s efforts were undertaken only when resources permitted. The inspectors were all out of El Paso, Texas, Though they never totaled more than seventy five, they patrolled as far west as California trying to restrict the flow of illegal Chinese immigration (Border Patrol History, web). In 1915, Congress approved a separate group of Mounted Guards, often called Mounted Inspectors. Most rode on horseback, but a few operated cars and even boats. Although these inspectors had broader arrest authority, they still largely pursued Chinese immigrants trying to avoid the Chinese exclusion laws. The agents were immigrant inspectors, assigned to inspection stations, and could not watch the border at all times, Texas Rangers were also often assigned to patrol duties by the state, and their efforts were noted as singularly effective (Border Patrol History, web). • 29. Cause And Effects Of Prohibition What would happen if one were to prohibit all alcohol production and consumption? Well, it happened before, from the Prohibition movement. Prohibition dates back to the early days of America, when it was still a colony. However, due to it being a mostly orthodox movement, it had not gained much traction. Until, in the late 1800s and early 1900s, Prohibition s popularity surged; most notably, in 1873 when a group of nuns and their followers sang and prayed in front of a drugstore in Hillsboro, Ohio (Hill 10). This influx of support led to the passing of the 18th Amendment, the only Amendment to ever be repealed. Whether the boost in popularity is due mostly to the increasing amount of Christians, crime dramas, or immigration may never be known. Yet, the causes and laws of Prohibition did play a significant role in the 1920s because they showed the influence of lobby groups socially and federally, taught cautionary lessons about American law and policy, and it greatly influenced our relations with other countries, specifically Canada. Firstly, Prohibition prominently displayed the power and influence of a lobby group in social and government spheres. For example, the Women s War can be attributed to the closing of over 25,000 drinking establishments (Hill 12). This shows the major effects that the ASL, Anti Saloon League, had on the social perceptions on drinking; the establishments only closed because they were either visited by large mobs of people or were suspecting they ... Rueter asserts that prior to the civil rights era, the Republican Party was not as effective in gaining rights for minorities compared to proposals made by the Democratic Party in the 1960s. He states that it was clear to minorities that the Democratic Party was more supportive of civil rights versus Republicans due to their lack of voting support of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Because of this, Republicans were seen as being against minorities due to their lack of cooperation with the Democratic Party to end segregation and with President Johnson to allow equal voting rights (240 1). The Civil Rights Act of 1964 barred unequal application of voter registration requirements, outlawed discrimination in public accommodations engaged in interstate commerce, encouraged the desegregation of public schools and authorized the U. • 39. On Laziness By Christopher Morley Summary Generally, lazy people are not admired. Society, as a whole, prefers those who are willing and able to actively and positively contribute to its progress. Effort is praised while indifference can typically be seen as shameful. Christopher Morley understands this. In his short essay, On Laziness, he indirectly confronts the slothful in an effort to make them see the error of their ways. Morley deals with the topic of laziness in a overly sarcastic and satirical tone to stress the absurdity of the trait. Early in his essay, Morley utilizes irony that made it evident that his essay on the supposed benefits of laziness is meant to be treated as a satire. He in no way is actually believing what he is explicitly stating. The opening statement can only reasonably be viewed as an intentional joke. Morley claims that he intends to write an essay on Laziness but [is] too indolent to [even] do so. Yet, the paper does not end here; he continues on and completes an entire academic essay, blatantly contradicting his first sentence in it. If Morley stays true to his words and fully believes in the value of idleness, no work would have been made to defend it. He makes the sarcasm even more obvious through his deliberate choice of words. While criticizing activeness and energy, Morley spoke of having a determined effort to be more languid and demure. It is paradoxical to try to be lazy. Putting in effort and making an attempt to be so goes against its basic definition. Morley provides examples of where laziness was shown to be virtuous. However, he purposely makes them flawed and highly debatable, forcing the slothful to consider if there is in actuality a strong case for their behavior. Morley initially calls upon recent history for proof. He reminds the audience of the Great War the essay being written in 1920 shortly after it ended and declares that the world would have been spared a great deal... if the Germans had been as lazy, as indifferent, and as righteously laissez fairish as their neighbours... Amoxicillin has no Effect on Peroxidase Activity and Growth Rate of Raphanus sativus L Abstract: The prolific use of antibiotics in agricultural operations is raising concern because it is fed to their livestock, which is then excreted into the soil. The antibiotic concentration in the soil is producing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Plants that get exposed to this type of soil get their biochemistry disrupted. The following study was conducted as an attempt to determine if plant growth rate and peroxidase activity were two factors that are affected by the presence of antibiotics. To test this out, a specific amoxicillin water solution was given to eight treatment plants. These plants were then compared to eight control plants. By statistically analyzing the data obtained using ANOVA, it was found that the null hypothesis was supported and that the antibiotic treatment had no significant effect on either growth or peroxidase activity. Introduction: Since the discovery of antibiotics in the 20th century its use has widely prevailed. While its introduction to the medicine industry has brought many benefits like almost eradicating some diseases, its use is now bringing concern to public health. • 47. What Is My Inspiration Essay Inspiration doesn t mean trying to impersonate your idol. It means that they have left an impact on your life that has moved you so much that you make it your quest to pass on that impact to others, so that they are inspired to do the same. The cycle will go on forever. I have been inspired by number of people ranging from members of my family, friends, to great personalities who obviously do not know of my existence on this planet! Some of them are so influential that their motivation and determination will enable me to reach greater heights. A few inspire me to do better in anticipation that I will make them proud. In all this, there has been a special personality who has helped me to perceive the brighter side of striving to achieve excellence. Jamsetji Tata, a visionary, a seer, a man of action who single handedly built a flourishing empire till date. What was so different about Jamsetji? What made him the recurring topic of many minds? What could have been the secret that allowed him to build a dynasty? I would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Leaders must always be humble and be grateful to the ones that have helped them along their way to success. Great leaders should be more like Jamsetji Tata because then, they too will have a vision that will benefit not only themselves but also the citizens of this country. Money is not a matter of heart; it is a matter of the mind. If you have the will power, you can live without craving for money. This is what I would like the leaders of today to incorporate into their lives. This is the main reason Jamsetji thrived. He did not care about the size of his wallet at the end of his day. He only cared about whether or not he did something for the citizens of the nation. I wouldn t be wrong if I said that without his vision that was the cornerstone of the Tata group, Munnar would never be what it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. How We Got Over Chapter Summary How We Got Over is book full of selected speeches vocalized by Dr. John A. Peoples, Jr., a former President of Jackson State University. The selected speeches cover topics centered around African Americans, specifically African American education. Most of the speeches, compiled in the book by Dr. John A. Peoples, Jr. himself, are from his Jackson State University Founders Day speeches. The speeches are arranged chronologically, and some of the speeches are given discrete introductions to elucidate the concern, purpose, or problem being addressed (Peoples ix). The book s title is a little misleading because one underlying theme of the entire book is that the struggles for African Americans are not over. Even though some of the speeches were voiced as far back as 1950, many of the author s subject matter and presented perspectives are applicable to the today s society, most unambiguously the African American community. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dr. Peoples begins his compilation of speeches with a speech he gave as valedictorian of Jackson State College on May 24, 1950. The speech addresses the inverse relationship between man s progress in solving physical problems and his progress solving social problems (2). Dr. Peoples ends the speech by asserting to his fellow graduates that as graduates, they must attack society s issues head on, and be leaders to the African American community to solve society s social problems (4). That speech, given by a young John A. Peoples, Jr., presents the fundamental purpose by which he has lived. This purpose of being a courageous leader and problem solver sets forth the foundation for all of the following speeches compiled in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Discuss the Graphic Design Styles and t Essay Discuss the Graphic Design Styles and Techniques of Propaganda and Persuasion used by the Nazi Government 1933 1939 Nothing is easier than leading the people on a leash. I just hold up a dazzling campaign poster and they jump through it. (Goebbels, 1934). By the time Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in 1933, he already understood the power that propaganda could have on the masses; so quickly hired Joseph Goebbels as Reich Minister of Propaganda to control the news, media and art in Germany. Propaganda then grew to become a very strong and powerful tool for the Nazi party up to and throughout the Second World War under Goebbels power. Propaganda is the use of, usually, biased or misleading information within design, media, news ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The large sections of flat colour across the athlete s shirt and body suggest the use of woodblock printing, relating back to the traditional Japanese style; that, and the use of the very traditional Fraktur font, restrains the poster from looking too modern or un German. He has also positioned the athlete s limbs to reflect a similar shape to a swastika, which is emphasised by her black shorts and the flag behind her. This shows how the Nazi party had a strong power over everything that the public saw, even to the subtle shapes created with a form. Goebbels believed that if Hitler was to give speeches, the people should be able to hear him (History Learning Site, 2013) so made sure radios were sold as cheaply as possible and public places such as cafes and shops were ordered to broadcast Hitler s speeches so his voice and message could reach as many people as possible, making it nearly impossible to not hear him. Because of how cheaply wireless radios, or the People s Receiver as they were called, were sold for, between 1933 and 1939 the number of radio sets sold in Germany quadrupled. The designer Leonid created this image in 1936, which reads, All of Germany Listens to the Leader with the People s Receiver ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
