Dean Corll and His Accomplice David Brooks
Also a very clever thing, Corll forced his victims to call or write to their parents explaining why

Why Do Jewish Community Practice Holidays
The special lecture was held by Rabbi Edward and Dr. Yong. Rabbi Edward explained various
Jewish holidays and the reasons why they are held. Rabbi Edward then explained why Jewish
community practice holidays. Dr. Yong explained briefly about Jesus, Covenant, and Freedom.
There were many Jewish holidays Rabbi Edward mentioned. All holidays have Hebrew names
which corresponds to Bible. There are holidays where community lives outside of the home with
bare necessities, Passovers, and Tabernacle. Rabbi Edward said very few people knows about the
holiday of the Tabernacle. Rabbi gave brief histories of each holiday and most of the holidays

The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe
It was much pleasanter at home, thought poor Alice, `when one wasn t always growing larger
and smaller, and being ordered about by mice and rabbits. I almost wish I hadn t gone down that
rabbit hole and yet and yet it s rather curious, you know, this sort of life! I do wonder what can
have happened to me . Lewis Carroll s Alice in Wonderland which takes the reader into the
fantasy world of rabbit holes and mad hatters, magic cakes and secret doors, very articulately
conveys that food can be used as a temptation or as a ploy tool to trap the protagonist to indulge
in mischievous activities. Caroll s Alice not only instantaneously grows in size when she eats
certain foods but also shrinks when she eats or drinks certain things as well. Food fantasies play
a very crucial role in children s literature be it in Alice in Wonderland or C.S. Lewis 1950
allegorical novel , The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Both these fantastical stories focus on
interpersonal conflicts and food fantasies of the child protagonist. Lewis s novel reflects Edmund
Penvensie s weakness for sweet foods, which are quickly discerned by the White Witch. Both
Caroll and Lewis allude the significance of food in relation to adulthood and childhood, using food
as a dichotomic symbol for empowerment and domination and as a medium for didactic teachings..
In these fantasy stories and in their imaginary worlds children are allowed to enjoy enticing foods
that perhaps do not exist in reality, which

Persuasive Essay On Pitbulls
Stories can travel far and wide reaching everyone. This can benefit or destroy beings as the story
can twist and be changed along the way. A victim of this can t speak up for themselves but are
known as man s best friend . There are dogs all over the world that are being abandoned or put
down in shelters as a result of many factors. The history or story of a breed of dogcan influence how
people perceive them today. All the different breeds we know today have history behind them. We
can find out where they first originated and how they came to be. There is a breed of dog that
seems to take most of the hits, the American Pitbull. This breed of dog is quite intelligent, loving

Not every dog is a good boy and we need to also remember that these are animals who will do what
they need to do in order to survive. This can mean them fighting for their life or adapting to their
surroundings in order to live another day. Animals are intelligent and amazing creatures that rely on
instincts as we cannot truly communicate with them. Though some breeds have gotten a bad
reputation, there are organizations out there that are doing everything they can to help save
innocent lives that are being ruined by bad stories. Big or small these people are putting their time
and effort to inform people of their ignorance.
Further spreading knowledge of this matter can help limit animals on the street and help find
ones in shelters new homes. Adopting those in shelters helps by giving them a second chance at
living a happy life but also allows for more room so other animals in need can move in. The
overabundance of animals in shelters can be limited if people would spay and neuter their pets. By
doing this it will eliminate the unexpected or unwanted pregnancies and allow for animals in the
shelter to be looked at more. Not many people are aware of the closest animal shelter or the
primary one that might be active in their community. This is one thing that needs to change as we
make this situation more aware to the community. Having the local animal shelters more accessible
as well as advertising them

Cause And Effect Of Gangsters In The 1920 s
When the 1920 s are brought up, something that almost always follows it is gangster related. Those
two are intertwined together because during that time period, gangsters controlled just about
everything. They affected every part of people s lives. The government was even affected by
gangsters in this time period. And the main cause of all this was because of the Prohibition era.
Although gangsters did show the government that they could be overtaken, they also showed that
they were not going to follow any rules they did not agree with, and would turn people against big
name officials. The gangsters used prohibition to start their own business. The business was the
illegal distribution of alcohol. The government tried to counteract the illegal... Show more content

Critical Analysis of Mrs. Mallard s Emotions in The Story...
Write a critical analysis of any aspect of The Story of an Hour which you found of interest and
significance.
Kate Chopin s `The Story of an Hour is a short yet complex piece describing the feelings of Mrs
Mallard. This story is overflowing with symbolism and imagery. The most prominent theme here is
the longing for freedom. Chopin focuses on unfolding the emotional state of Mrs Mallard which
can be separated into three stages: quickly moving to grief, through a sense of newfound freedom,
and finally into the despair of the loss of that freedom.
`The Story of an Hour was written in the nineteenth century and during this time highly restrictive
gender roles forbade women to live as they saw fit. Kate Chopin presents in her story, ... Show more

When she goes in her room alone, she unveils her true emotions. The setting shows comfort and
indicates that she feels safe. The open window symbolises her new beginning and she fills her
mind with fantasies of freedom. She would have no one follow her indicates that she had only
her room to retreat to and it is from this place that she is able to look out at the world. The
metaphor delicious breath of rain , the peddler , a distant song and the sparrows are all symbolical
of spring which represents new hope for a better life for Mrs Mallard.
Mrs Mallard s awkward attitude after learning of her husband s death establishes an irony
somebody who is really happy in marriage will not enjoy nature in peace and have mixed
emotions; the person will feel genuine grief upon hearing of the death of her husband. Here, Mrs
Mallard s reaction portrays the extent to which her thirst for freedom was strong. Kate Chopin
allows us to visualise the moment that Mrs Mallard is able to shed the bondage of marriage: free,
free, free!. She feels liberated through her husband s death. Much emphasis is laid on her joy upon
finding freedom there would be no one to live for. The author also points out that she knew that she
would weep again.....folded in death. This only highlights the fact that it is not an expression of
love but seems more like a duty that

How Did Virginia Woolf Treat Women
During her life, Virginia Woolf endured many acts of discrimination not based on the content of
her character or the body of her work but based purely upon her gender. Through her years of
schooling towards her ascension to literary fame she witnessed an astonishing difference in the
treatment of men in college and women in college especially in terms of food. To show the
difference in treatment Woolf uses her description of the meals as a metaphor of the difference of
treatment between men and women in college as well as extending the metaphor to show that their
treatment in college reflect how they are treated within society. Woolf first begins in each of the
passages opening sentences describes the time the meal is taking place and the... Show more content

On the male side, they finished their meal and headed to light a good cigarette and had no need
to hurry this once again highlights the leisure enjoyed by males in this society despite working
just as equally if not less than women. Woolf contrasts the men s leisure with the scrap[ing] [of]
their chairs and hall [emptying] which obviously shows the women rushing in a sluggish
manner to leave as if headed to do a menial task. With that point being made we can see that
Woolf is bringing the social ties argument to the light where the males are meant not only to
represent the males who control the social dominance but also the ultra wealthy who leisurely sit
back and relax while the women on the other hand are forced to enjoy a subpar meal that was
homely and plain then head begrudgingly back to work in some factory probably owned by one of
the men enjoying their novelist s convention in passage one, thus Woolf makes not only a comment
on women s treatment and how she s disgusted with it but also a broader critique on society and
wealth disparity during the time period it was

Comparing The Prioress s Tale And The Tale Of Melibee
In The Canterbury tales by Geoffrey Chaucer, Both The Prioress Tale and The Tale of Melibee
deal with grave evils involving attacks from enemies, injustices, and tragedies. The difference
between these two stories is that The Tale of Melibee offers a better solution to the problem of
evil and injustice than the ending of The Prioress Tale . The Tale of Melibee shows not only a
solution to Melibee s problem, but also any dilemma where there is injustice. The Prioress solution
to evilis through blaming one s enemy and solving the problem through violence instead of words.
In The Prioress Tale a Christian boy is walking home from school singing, which annoyed the Jews.
The Jews then killed the boy out of anger. When it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The Tale of Melibee , Melibee s daughter Sophie is severely wounded by Melibee s enemies
and Melibee is forced to choose whether or not to seek revenge. At first urged by his flatterers,
Melibee wants to go to war. Lady Prudence, Melibee s wife, reminds Melibee that he cannot let
his sorrow and anger overwhelm him and his reaction has to be proportionate to the crime.
Prudence convinces Melibee not to go to war using reason. For example she explains that
Melibee s enemies are expecting retaliation and Melibee is not prepared for a war. Melibee is
drawing from the wisdom of the world when he should be drawing from the wisdom of God. The
last example of how The Tale of Melibee offers a better solution to the problem of evil and
injustice than the ending The Prioress Tale , is that in The Tale of Melibee , they use their words
to serve justice, rather than violence. Sweet words cause friendships to multiply and increase ,
and make vexatious, wicked men turn kind and meek . Prudence uses her words to help Melibee s
enemies understand how horrible what they did to Sophie was. Not only does she make peace
with Melibee s enemies but she also helps others understand that words can be used to fight
injustice, just as war

Essay on Reservation Blues by Sherman Alexie
In the novel Reservation Blues, most of the characters struggle with their identity at some point.
Victor has an especially strong urge to rebel against his Native American heritage, which is
apparent in his violent, arrogant demeanor and his obvious problem with alcohol. Victor is tied to
his past and has trouble coping with his life as it is, and is in a constant battle with himself, his
surroundings, and other people. Early in the book, Victoris portrayed as somewhat of a bully, and he
and Juniorare even referred to as, two of the most accomplished bullies of recent Native American
history. (page 13) Victor s closest and most meaningful relationship in the book is his friendship
with Junior. It s unclear why Junior... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While he may think that drinking is a way to escape being Native American, in actuality, it just
perpetuates the cycle of alcoholism on the reservation. In the early stages of starting the band, it
becomes clear that Victor will be the guitar player. Since Robert Johnson?s guitar seems to be
somewhat evil, and maybe even possessed or cursed by the devil or the Gentleman, it makes
sense that the guitar would end up in Victor?s hands. Victor?s playing of the guitar, along with
the cuts and blisters on his hands, could be a sign of his slipping further away from his culture,
and the eventual suffering and pain that will come from that. Rock and roll seems to be Victor?s
escape from life on the reservation, and in his mind, the only way that he may ever escape it.
However, it is mentioned that, ?Though they always pretended to be the toughest Indian men in the
world, they suffered terrible bouts of homesickness as soon as they crossed the Spokane Indian
Reservation border,? (page 61) which suggests that perhaps Victor is more attached to the
reservation and Native American life than he seems to be.
When Victor was nine years old, he was molested by a priest at a Mission School. Because of his
experience, he distrusts and avoids most aspects of the church. Religion plays little, if any, part in
Victor?s life.
Throughout the book, it became clear that

Jfk Assassination Conspiracy Theories Essay
Have you ever heard of an event that had more conspiracy theories than the JFK assassination?
John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas at 12:30 on November 22, 1963. JFK
was our 35th president of the United States, he was loved by many Americans and only some hated
him, which might have led to the Kennedy assassination. He was assassinated by Lee Harvey
Oswald, a U.S. Marine American Sniper who secretly went to the Soviet Union for unknown
reasons. The day of the assassination was a huge uproar, it happened so fast that many Americans
couldn t explain what they saw, this created conspiracy theories. A conspiracy theory is a belief
that an organization or individual is responsible for an event. One can conclude that the JFK... Show

Many witnesses of the shooting said they saw smoke coming from the grassy knoll, this caused
speculations that the shooter was located to the right of Kennedy, this could be argued why
Kennedy s head went back from the backlash of the bullet. People who tuned into the assassination
believed that there was a shooter from the Texas School Depository, then this came along and they
all jumped from one shooter to multiple shooters, this connects to the other conspiracy theory of
multiple shooters. Citizens who filmed the assassination released their film along with the Zapruder
film, this was a huge advantage for the government. The grassy knoll was a highlight of these films,
people discovered a silhouette that looked like a dog or a human, it was later called the Black Dog
Man . People could argue this thing was the shooter because throughout the film this thing showed
suspicious activity. Throughout the JFK assassination there were many speculations and conspiracy
theories that Americans discovered. This brought America together to find out who shot the
president, it was a huge mystery at the time and still is to this day. When the Zapruder film came
out, the Warren report, and more evidence, this started many conspiracy and arguments between the
government and Americans. Overall, one can conclude that the JFK assassination had the most
conspiracy theories and

the King of Tokin denied the permission because in Vietnam there existed an ancient religion. The

is for his people their religion? This question reflects on the reason behind his denied to convert into

CASE NOTE: KENNEDY V NSW MINISTER FOR PLANNING [2010] NSWLEC 129
I INTRODUCTION
In this case, Kennedy v NSW Minister for Planning [2010] NSWLEC 129 the plaintiff is
identified as Roy Dutch Kennedy on behalf of Sandon Point Aboriginal Tent Embassy and the
defendant is the NSW Minister for planning . The case was heard in the NSW Land and

Stochastic Grinding Process Development For Metal Bonded...
Deterministic grinding process development for metal bonded diamond grinding wheels through
patterned grinding wheel by utilizing micro EDM comprises four main investigation on: (1)
material removal mechanism considering interaction between diamond grains, workpiece, metal
bond and electrical spark, (2) effective pattern geometry design for effective material removal and
grinding performance, (3) application of micro EDM to create the pattern on the metal bonded
grinding wheel, (4) analysing the grinding performance on hard materials such as Inconel and
carbide. We believe that knowledge obtained in these four subjects through journal publications and
conference/seminar will benefit academics in the field of manufacturing technology, surface
science and materials engineering. Especially, establishing a FEM/SPH model which can present
different material removal phases, rubbing, ploughing, and cutting during grinding and mechanical
interaction between abrasivegrains, metal bond, and workpiece will benefit the researcher in the
field of micromachining by providing advanced understanding on metal cutting mechanism at micro
scale for hard materials. Because grinding has the most complex cutting mechanism among other
machining processes, detailed understanding of this certainly will help to comprehend other
machining processes cutting mechanism easily. Application of micro EDM to dress the metal

Why Does Zora Neale Need Tea Cake In Their Eyes Were...
Their Eyes Were Watching God Decisions.... Anyone who s ever read Their Eyes Were Watching
God can partake in this argument did Janie need Tea Cake, or was she better off alone and in no
relationship? I ve come to the conclusion that Janie is better off in a relationship with Tea Cake
because in the book, he teaches her to appreciate herself, he is responsible and tells the truth, and
he allows her to have fun. One reason Janie is better off with Tea Cake is the fact that Tea Cake
repeatedly teaches her to appreciate herself. Tea Cake and Mrs. Mayor Starks! All the men that
she could get, and fooling with somebody like Tea Cake (Hurston 110) ! This is a classic
example of peer pressure; Janie handles it herself and avoids the larger crowd. She trusted her
gut and went with Tea Cake anyway, thus showing appreciation to her wants and not others.
Another example is how Tea Cake provides Janie with the sense that age doesn t matter. ...He

Ragtime Essay
Ragtime Essay In the novel, Ragtime, E. L. Doctorow writes about the lower and upper class
areas, during the early 1900 s. He includes specific details of events that take place, but more
importantly certain characters that within the novel. Doctorow implies a main theme throughout
the book that ultimately applies to all the characters. This theme is the idea of escaping. Whether
it is escaping from a certain person, a specific event, or a particular place, the theme is addressed
with the idea of avoiding some undeniable problem. Characters in the story help underline this
specific problem of how to escape and with that comes historically important factors the
developed during the early 1900 s. Through the characters in his book, Doctorow, brings alive the
history of the early 1900 s, as well as concentrating the theme of the time period, escaping. The key

This problem formulates so many problematic situations during the 1900 s that I doubt anyone
ever thought it would disappear. Doctorow brings to life the character of Coalhouse Walker to
illustrate the awfulness of discrimination against Blacks during this time. Coalhouse Walker was
a black pianist with mannerisms that did not fit the mold of him being an African American
with a high class reputation. His social position was not all that low and because of that many
did not like him. His sense of pride and how he does not act or talk like a colored man was believed
to be atypical of how African Americans were supposed act during the time period. The way he
acts in the novel is repeatedly in conflict with others expectations of how African Americans are
supposed to act. The African Americans of this time only wanted to escape from the boxes they
were put in and be seen as equal

Charlotte s passion in driving emancipation was not only portrayed through her storytelling, but
also her quilts. The black triangles sewn onto the quilt represent freedom and blackbird wings.
This obviously was such a big part in Handful s life as well because later in the novel when she
sews a quilt for Denmark Vesey, the same black triangles that her mother had sewn years before
were symbolized again. At the end of the novel when Handful and Sky escape, they take
Charlotte s original quilt with the wings on it to the North with them. Handful also references
hearing the blackbird wings as she escapes to the north at the end of the novel. There are two
unambiguous themes that the book center around: friendship and equality. As a reader, both of
these themes encapsulate the reader as the novel progresses and almost allow the reader to have
a personal connection with the characters. Unlike other novels that only show positives and
joyful experiences, Handful and Sarah experience a roller coaster of a friendship because of their
differing backgrounds. Both of these characters must overcome their own issues, which sometimes
created distance and heartache between the two. In part one of the novel, Handful talks about a
pure love between her and Sarah and it shows their innocence as children and the friendship that
they both had: People say love gets fouled by a difference big as ours. I

appearances, beings of sense (1) whereas the noumenon is completely unknowable through the
senses. not objects of our senses at all ...beings of understanding. (2) Kant then posits that things we

Summary Of Broken Bones
Title: Broken Bones!
There is always an adventure where my younger sister Lauren and I go. Our young minds
always find so much to do. With so little to do where we lived of course. Lauren and I would run
around and play with these two kids that lived in the same apartment complex. Their names
were Marco and Malik. Unfortunately, they were way younger than me but, I had no one else to
play with. No other kids lived where we lived. While I was in the sixth grade, the boys were only in
second and third grade. It wasn t as hard for Lauren to play with them as seeing how she is two
years younger than me. One day, we decided to play in the back yard where we almost always
played. In the backyard, there was a small dog house that sat ... Show more content on

The tree branch snapped and I fell four feet off the dog house to the ground and all I hear is
CRUNCH! Excruciating pain sears, stinging, running up and down my right arm. Tears running
down my face, just adding more heat to my pained body. Marco, oh my gosh, what happened?
Malik asked in a loud panicked voice. He wouldn t know considering he was taking a look out
waiting for Lauren to come around. I don t know, I was playing with the tree too, and the next
thing I know, she s screaming and falling off the dog house. Katie are you okay? I ve never seen
you cry before? Marco asked, concerned for me. Shaking my head side to side, tears still running
down my face and all I can feel is the deep pulsing that is running through my arm and wrist. The
boys rush over to me, trying to help me get up so that I can get to my mom in the house. Half
way there we see Lauren start rushing over to us when she sees me. Oh my! Katie what
happened? Lauren asked me speaking faster than normal trying to get out what she wanted to say.
She was playing on the tree while we were waiting for you and she fell off the tree house. Marco
described to Lauren for me. She runs to the house to go and get mom, but before she could get
mom out to me, Marco, Malik and me were at the front door. Mom being the nurturing mother she

Hope In One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest
In the novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest, by Ken Kesey, Nurse Ratched thrives off of the
patients feelings of hopelessness. Hope plays the most important role in this novel as McMurphy
represents hope and Nurse Ratched represents its opposite, thus serving as the basis for the change
in perspective of the other patients. McMurphy is the embodiment of hope for the patients as he
challenges Nurse Ratchedand her strict hold of their freedom. This idea of hope is so foreign to
the patients that when he first arrives, he makes everybody over there feel uneasy, with all his
kidding and joking (17). The patients are so accustomed to their routine and position of degradation
that they continue to feel helpless even when McMurphy makes a bet

Nile Kinnnick Research Paper
Although 8,398 Iowans died during World War II, the death of the University of Iowa s only
Heisman Trophy winner shook the state like no other wartime tragedy. Although College Football
ranked him as the ninth greatest college football player of all time, Nile Kinnick is perhaps best
remembered, as Charles Bullard summed up in The Des Moines Register, for his strength of
character and his sacrifice to his country (Lidd).
Nile Kinnick was born on July 9, 1918 in Adel, Iowa, the grandson of a governor. He attended the
University of Iowa after failing a football tryout at Minnesota. At Iowa, Kinnick became the team
s main passer. Kinnick played halfback and during his senior year, played 402 minutes (of a
possible 420) and was directly involved in 107 of Iowa s 130 points that season (Flatter). He was
a consensus first team All American and the only unanimous selection by the Associated Press. He

sports emphasis in general in this country. And that is I thank God I was warring on the gridirons

the players of this country would much more, much rather struggle and fight to win the Heisman

Strange Death of Silas Deane
The Strange Death of Silas Deane by James West Davison and Mark Hamilton Lytle creates a new
perspective on what people see history as. Although many people would define history as something
that happened in the past, through The Strange Death of Silas Deane , the authors demonstrate that
this everyday view on historycan be profoundly misleading.
In the section, An Untimely Death , the author explains the key events of Deane s life and his
death. Silas Deane began his life as the son of a humble blacksmith in Groton, Connecticut (16).

Finance and Funding in United States Refugee Resettlement: A System Evaluation
The United States resettles thousands of refugees every year from all over the globe. Once a refugee
goes through an application process and is approved to be resettled in the United States, the
official process of resettlement can begin. How does the United States fund refugee resettlement?
Are the allocated funds being used in an effective way that allow for long term success of
individuals who have been resettled? These or common questions and concerns regarding US
refugee resettlement. This evaluation seeks to expose the reality of the financial and funding
process involved in the resettlement of refugees in the United States and explore ways in which it
could potentially be improved upon.
It is important to note that this study solely focuses on refugees and does not cover other migrant
populations such as asylum seekers. Both refugees and asylees are individuals who are unable or
unwilling to return to their country of origin or nationality because of persecution or a well
founded fear of persecution ( Refugees and Asylees in the United States ). The key difference
between the two populations is location and admission process to the United States. Refugees are

If a couple enters in fraudulent marriage, there can be civil and criminal penalties for the
immigrant and for the U.S. citizen or permanent resident petitioner. If an immigrant had been found
to commit marriage fraud, he/she can be deported (removed) from United States. If he/she holds a
non immigrant (temporary) visa, there is a possibility of visa revocation. Additionally, history of
fraud remains on the person s immigration records, making it virtually impossible to enter into
United States in the future with any U.S. visa or a green card.
Regarding criminal penalties, under the Immigration law, any individual who knowingly enters
into marriage for the purpose of evading any provision of the immigration law, will be imprisoned
for not more than five years or fined not more than $250,000, or both. In addition, under Title 18

Becoming A Supervisor
Based on the information I discovered from this final project, I would still like to be a supervisor.
I know that becoming a supervisor might be a challenge based on the supervisor informational
interviews that I received from Clarice Barrington and Earlene Johnson. However, I m
knowledgeable that a supervisor is a vital participant in the development of the workers that assist
them and also the department; this is the key motivator influence for me. As I would expect, there
is the financial motivationthat comes with every advancement, which is important when planning
for your future; however, that wouldn t be my main purpose because that will not keep unity
among the people that you are leading or help build your department. I would be in a supervisor
position for the wrong reason. The money will not allow me to demonstrate my leadershipabilities,

The Hardest Pieces Of Meat
One of the hardest pieces of meat to cook is the Tri tip steak roast, because most are three pounds
and many tend to burn the outside of the meat while the middle is stone cold raw. I like my meat
cooked to a nice medium temperature, I feel the best way to cook a Tri tip steak is on an outdoor
briquette barbeque, anything other than this is just not doing this piece of meatany justice.
Let s start with the grocery store, to have the best meat that will melt in your mouth, always start
with a nice piece of raw beef. Meat is graded on a scale according to marbling effects. Nice
Restaurants only used USDA Prime. You and I can t buy Prime meat in the grocery store. The
USDA grades meat, and Prime is young, well fed cattle and has an abundant marbling. Most
grocery stores can carry USDA Choice meat, and this is my recommendation of what to buy; it is
less marbling but is still very tender and juicy. You have to be careful, some stores don t carry this
and try to sell the lowest grade which is USDA Select. Select is fairly less tender, less marbling ,
less on flavor and juiciness. Stay away from USDA Select. Vons carries a nice USDA Choice meat,
so I recommend it.
Seasoning the meat is a crucial element of this process. I like to bring my roast out of the
refrigerator and season it, letting it sit on the counter so it comes to room temperature, while my
briquettes are getting ready on the barbeque. Allowing the meat come fully up to temperature will
help the meat

The main topics for Assignment 4 are standard costing, variance analysis, and budget creation.
Accountants of all management levels often have to analyze variance reports in order to help in the

Individualism In Dead Poets Society, And Dead Poet Society
Transcendentalists in the 1830s challenged society s normality. They broke stereotypes and
began not depending their actions according to others. Director Peter Weir and Author Ralph
Waldo Emerson wrote about transcendentalist s ideals of education to rebel against commonly
accepted behavior. Transecdiliasts assured and trusted themselves that the outcome is for the
better. Similarly, in the film, Dead Poets Society, Mr. John Keating teaches an English class
navigating the class through the uncertainties of life. The boys in Keating s class, discover
themselves and begin to live life focusing on their passions. Self Reliance, is an essay about
expressing your individualism and overcoming the social expectations in life. Together they both
share the fundamental virtues that to a live successful life with no regrets, one must trust their
self identity and carpe diem. For one to live a life with no regrets they must fully embrace
themselves self in trusting oneself allows one to them fully accept who they are and express it.
In the film, Dead Poets society, people can see Mr. Keating s unquie type of teaching style. Neil

unusual English class and decides to try out for the school performance. He gets the lead however;

Analysis Of Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night By Dylan...
The twentieth century was a period were the Aesthetic movement helped widen the breach
between writers and the general public (Greenblatt 959). One of the major authors of the
Twentieth century was Dylan Thomas. Thomas was born in 1914 in Swansea, Wales. At the age
of sixteen, he left school to become a writer. However, in 1953 Thomas died in New York due to
his heavy drinking problem. His most famous poem was Do Not Go Gentle into That Good
Night which was published in 1952 (Ried notes) .His central message in the poem is not to
accept death quietly. Thomas uses old age, wise men, wild men, and grave men to give
examples to deliver his message. Thomas starts the poem off by talking about men in their old
age. He informs us about the old age men by saying, Old age should burn and rave at close of day

spread their knowledge to rest of the world. These type of men are just want to be known and

power in the poem (Reid Lecture). The third type of men are the wild men. Thomas says Will men

All outbreaks of MERS have been traced back to originating from the Arabian Peninsula(CDC,

pasteurize water in a snake skin, (a Python skin?) turned inside out, while it was hung over a fire.
This is nice to know, but really do you ever expect you would ever do this. It is almost like saying I
need to know how to hang wall paper with one hand tied behind my back just in case the need
ever arises . Maybe not that extreme, but the point is, do not get caught up in trying to learn the
complicated and elaborate ways of doing things when there are much simpler ways that would get

On Being Anointed and the Great Awakening Essay
Why do we need another Great awakening? When I think of an Awakening, even after our class,
my mind immediately goes to images of eighteenth century revivalists like Jonathan Edwards,
George Whitfield, Jereena Lee and a large constellation of other preaching giants of yesteryear.
These men and women created a legacy of spiritual fervor which has earned them a place in the
annals of American religious history. Their effectiveness as preachers of the word and proclaimers
of truth permeated a nation s consciousness and snatched the nation from spiritual decline.
Several questions arise as I think of the Awakenings of years past. My first question is whether our
nation is as spiritually receptive of an Awakening as it was two hundred years... Show more content

Perhaps that is what we need a contemporary awakening to do. In the face of drone strikes,
unending poverty, mass incarceration, and myriad social issues with spiritual ramifications, an
Awakening is what is needed to turn this nation, its culture and its people around. I think there
needs to be a turning to a moral center; be it God (thinking out of my Christian context), or to a
common place of civility and mutual understanding. The church has a unique role to play in
bringing renewal and restoration to the brokenness of the world. I think that the mission the broken,
crucified, despised Jesus was and is healing brokenness. Jesus Christ was anointed to do the work
of restoring a sick and sad nation. I, therefore, hold as my point of departure that in Jesus Christ
we are anointed to preach in a way that will awaken the nation to wholeness and to the reality of
God s reign on Earth. In light of my theme, this paper hopes to accomplish three goals. My first
goal is to reflect on the calling forth of bold, brave, and anointed preachers in James A. Forbes
book The Holy Spirit and Preaching. Second, I will explore the preaching ministry of Howard
Washington Thurman who, I think, exemplifies what it means to operate in the anointing of Christ.
Finally, I will take these considerations about the Holy Spirit and Howard Thurman, and reflect on
my own preaching ministry, which nears eleven

Overpopulation in India
Did you know that India is the second most populated country in the world? India s population
rate went up to 1.2 billion in past few years, which has a negative impact on the quality of life,
lived in India. The resources cannot sufficiently support the growing population. For example: as
population grows, we put much more demands on our resources to grow food and provide energy,
but currently energy production requires fossil fuels which contributes to pollution and global
warming. This in turn makes it harder to grow enough food to feed the growing population, which
leads general public of India to reduce their quality of life. In 2000 the Prime Minister of India is
also giving a statement relates to overpopulation, If the present rate of growth of our population
remains unchecked , Said India s Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, India will become the
world s most populous country by the mid dle of this century and essential requirement like
drinking water, shelter, and health will difficult to meet . Another problem, due the overpopulation,
many people in India go to sleep on the roads with an empty stomach. It happened because these
people can t afford the food and land prices, which caused by the overpopulation. For example,
take a glance at Paul R. Ehrlich reading, The population Bomb where he argued that a growing
number of population placed escalating strains on all aspects of the natural world. If population

I almost wish I hadn t gone down that rabbit hole and yet and yet it s rather curious, you know, this sort of life! I do wonder what can have happened to me . Lewis Carroll s Alice in Wonderland which takes the reader into the fantasy world of rabbit holes and mad hatters, magic cakes and secret doors, very articulately conveys that food can be used as a temptation or as a ploy tool to trap the protagonist to indulge in mischievous activities. Caroll s Alice not only instantaneously grows in size when she eats certain foods but also shrinks when she eats or drinks certain things as well. Food fantasies play a very crucial role in children s literature be it in Alice in Wonderland or C.S. Lewis 1950 allegorical novel , The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Both these fantastical stories focus on interpersonal conflicts and food fantasies of the child protagonist. Lewis s novel reflects Edmund Penvensie s weakness for sweet foods, which are quickly discerned by the White Witch. Both Caroll and Lewis allude the significance of food in relation to adulthood and childhood, using food as a dichotomic symbol for empowerment and domination and as a medium for didactic teachings.. How Did Virginia Woolf Treat Women During her life, Virginia Woolf endured many acts of discrimination not based on the content of her character or the body of her work but based purely upon her gender. Through her years of schooling towards her ascension to literary fame she witnessed an astonishing difference in the treatment of men in college and women in college especially in terms of food. To show the difference in treatment Woolf uses her description of the meals as a metaphor of the difference of treatment between men and women in college as well as extending the metaphor to show that their treatment in college reflect how they are treated within society. With that point being made we can see that Woolf is bringing the social ties argument to the light where the males are meant not only to represent the males who control the social dominance but also the ultra wealthy who leisurely sit back and relax while the women on the other hand are forced to enjoy a subpar meal that was homely and plain then head begrudgingly back to work in some factory probably owned by one of the men enjoying their novelist s convention in passage one, thus Woolf makes not only a comment on women s treatment and how she s disgusted with it but also a broader critique on society and wealth disparity during the time period it was ... In the early stages of starting the band, it becomes clear that Victor will be the guitar player. Since Robert Johnson?s guitar seems to be somewhat evil, and maybe even possessed or cursed by the devil or the Gentleman, it makes sense that the guitar would end up in Victor?s hands. Victor?s playing of the guitar, along with the cuts and blisters on his hands, could be a sign of his slipping further away from his culture, and the eventual suffering and pain that will come from that. Rock and roll seems to be Victor?s escape from life on the reservation, and in his mind, the only way that he may ever escape it. However, it is mentioned that, ?Though they always pretended to be the toughest Indian men in the world, they suffered terrible bouts of homesickness as soon as they crossed the Spokane Indian Reservation border,? Although College Football ranked him as the ninth greatest college football player of all time, Nile Kinnick is perhaps best remembered, as Charles Bullard summed up in The Des Moines Register, for his strength of character and his sacrifice to his country (Lidd). Nile Kinnick was born on July 9, 1918 in Adel, Iowa, the grandson of a governor. He attended the University of Iowa after failing a football tryout at Minnesota. At Iowa, Kinnick became the team s main passer. Kinnick played halfback and during his senior year, played 402 minutes (of a possible 420) and was directly involved in 107 of Iowa s 130 points that season (Flatter). The Hardest Pieces Of Meat One of the hardest pieces of meat to cook is the Tri tip steak roast, because most are three pounds and many tend to burn the outside of the meat while the middle is stone cold raw. I like my meat cooked to a nice medium temperature, I feel the best way to cook a Tri tip steak is on an outdoor briquette barbeque, anything other than this is just not doing this piece of meatany justice. Let s start with the grocery store, to have the best meat that will melt in your mouth, always start with a nice piece of raw beef. Meat is graded on a scale according to marbling effects. Nice Restaurants only used USDA Prime. You and I can t buy Prime meat in the grocery store. The USDA grades meat, and Prime is young, well fed cattle and has an abundant marbling. Most grocery stores can carry USDA Choice meat, and this is my recommendation of what to buy; it is less marbling but is still very tender and juicy. You have to be careful, some stores don t carry this and try to sell the lowest grade which is USDA Select. Select is fairly less tender, less marbling , less on flavor and juiciness. Stay away from USDA Select. Vons carries a nice USDA Choice meat, so I recommend it. Seasoning the meat is a crucial element of this process. These men and women created a legacy of spiritual fervor which has earned them a place in the annals of American religious history. Their effectiveness as preachers of the word and proclaimers of truth permeated a nation s consciousness and snatched the nation from spiritual decline. India s population rate went up to 1.2 billion in past few years, which has a negative impact on the quality of life, lived in India. The resources cannot sufficiently support the growing population. For example: as population grows, we put much more demands on our resources to grow food and provide energy, but currently energy production requires fossil fuels which contributes to pollution and global warming.
