Personality Essay Sample
Writing an essay on the topic of "Personality" can be both challenging and rewarding. The
complexity arises from the multifaceted nature of the subject itself. Defining and exploring
personality involves delving into psychological theories, behavioral patterns, and individual
uniqueness. To create a comprehensive essay, one must navigate through a diverse range of
aspects, such as genetic influences, environmental factors, and the interplay of nature versus
nurture.
Crafting a compelling essay also requires an in-depth understanding of various personality traits,
such as extroversion, introversion, openness, conscientiousness, agreeableness, and neuroticism.
Moreover, it involves examining the cultural and societal dimensions that shape an individual's
personality. The challenge lies in presenting a well-structured narrative that seamlessly integrates
research findings, case studies, and personal reflections to provide a nuanced perspective on the
topic.
Additionally, exploring the historical evolution of personality theories and their contemporary
relevance demands a meticulous approach. Balancing the academic rigor with engaging writing is
crucial to captivate the reader's interest. Analyzing real-life examples, anecdotes, or case studies
can add depth to the essay, but synthesizing information from diverse sources while maintaining
coherence is no easy feat.
Despite the difficulties, writing a "Personality" essay offers an opportunity for self-reflection
and growth as a writer. The ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
is a valuable skill that can be honed through this process.
In conclusion, tackling a "Personality Essay" requires navigating through the intricate web of
psychological concepts, individual differences, and societal influences. The challenge lies not
only in presenting well-researched information but also in crafting a narrative that engages and
enlightens the reader. For those seeking assistance, similar essays and more can be ordered on

Assignment 2
Assignment 2 Gorgeous George blows fans away
Royals or readable?
Introduction
Photojournalism is used to represent a news story through a singular/series of
images. The images are selected to depict both content and tone, acting as an anchor
to the event/story. An anchor is used to provide stability or confidence in an
otherwise uncertain situation, it narrows down the obtainable readings that can be
made on an image. On the 8th of April 2014 the Dominon post printed and
dispatched this front page article of the royal family on their arrival to Wellington
NZ; Gorgeous George blows fans away . Monarchy; A monarchy is a form of
government in which sovereignty is actually or nominally embodied one or several
individuals reigning until death or abdication. They are called monarchs. As a
constitutional monarch, The Queen of New Zealand acts entirely on the advice of
New Zealand Government Ministers. She is fully briefed by means of
communications from her Ministers, and has audiences with them where possible.
(The offical website of the British Monarchy)
This essay aims so discuss the ways in which the article image offers an
interpretation of the event and how New Zealanders as a cultural identity are affected
by the Monarchy.
The purpose of visiting New Zealand for a royal tour is to generate interest in the
royal family and in affect allows the crown to remain part of New Zealand identity.
For the average tax paying citizen it is very easy to forget that New
Bullfighters In The Capital Of The World
Everybody has a hobby and a career, which they love and cherish. Sometimes, due to
reasons they cannot control, they are no longer able to continue that career or hobby
anymore. This is the case in Ernest Hemingway s story, The Capital of the
World(1936). At the Pension Luarca, a hotel in Madrid, many second rate bullfighters
stay there for long periods of time. These bullfighters were once great, but most of
them cannot bullfight anymore, and they cannot do anything to change that. Ernest
Hemingwaywas born in 1899, he was a journalist. He often travelled around the
world, which influenced all his stories. In The Capital of the World(1936), Ernest
Hemingway uses the characters of the story to show that although bullfightingis
popular, certain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The picadors were also second rate bullfighters, who lived in the hotel. The first
picador was a thin, gray haired man who was known to be a good bullfighter. He
was often distracted by women and alcohol, which led to his downfall. The author
says: [O]ne was a thin, hawk faced, gray haired man [...] drank too much e evening
and gazed amorously at any woman in the pension [...] Both were great picadors
although the first was reputed to have lost much of his ability through drink and
dissipation (par. 8). This picador was a great bullfighter, but he was always
distracted by women and was addicted to alcohol which led to his downfall. He
became an old man who constantly drank and would flirt with any woman he saw
in the hotel. Also, the second picador was also a great bullfighter, but did not have
good relationships with matadors due to some of his negative personality traits. The
author says: The other was huge, dark, brown faced, good looking, with black hair
like an Indian and enormous hands [...] the second was said to be too headstrong and
quarrelsome to stay with any matador more than a single season (par. 8). Due to the
picador s personality traits, he cannot continue being a bullfighter, which is
something he cannot not control. Both the picadors are unable to continue their

Contract Law Essays
Contract Law On Monday Samantha offered to sell her oboe to Penny for ВЈ1,000.
Penny replied I will buy it if I can raise the money . Samantha promised that she
would not sell the oboe to anyone else before Saturday, and added that Penny could
collect the oboe at any time before noon on Saturday. On Wednesday, Penny phoned
and left a message with Samantha s daughter, Anne, saying that she had got the
money and would collect the oboe on Saturday morning about 10.30am. Anne forgot

If this were to be considered such, then the acceptance would not necessarily be
binding. Samantha then promised that she would not sell the oboe to anyone else
before Saturday and added that Penny could collect it anytime before noon on that
day. Then on Wednesday, there is a phone call from Penny hoping to reach Samantha
to tell of confirmation of accumulating the money required to purchase the oboe.
Unfortunately, Samantha was unavailable and her daughter Anne took the phone call.
Penny left a message with Anne that she had the agreed sum of money and would
collect the oboe on the agreed day at 10.30am, in this case the Saturday of the same
week. Anne then forgot to tell Samantha about the message. Could this still be taken
as acceptance of the offer by Samantha? Penny had passed on the acceptance, but it
was to Anne, not to Samantha. On the Thursday, Samantha was entertaining friends
and the subject of the sale of the oboe came into conversation. One of her friends,
Gillian, was interested and offered Samantha ВЈ1300 for the oboe. Samantha was
obviously very happy with this offer, as it was ВЈ300 over the amount she had
offered Penny. She accepted the offer from Gillian and a contract was formed. In any
other circumstances, this would be a very simple and straightforward contract, but
due to outstanding issues with Penny, shadows were cast over its legitimacy. If

Jung
Biography
Carl Gustav Jung was born July 26, 1875, in the small Swiss village of Kessewil.
His father was Paul Jung, a country parson, and his mother was Emilie Preiswerk
Jung. He was surrounded by a fairly well educated extended family, including quite
a few clergymen and some eccentrics as well. The elder Jung started Carl on Latin
when he was six years old, beginning a long interest in language and literature
especially ancient literature. Besides most modern western European languages,
Jung could read several ancient ones, including Sanskrit, the language of the
original Hindu holy books. Carl was a rather solitary adolescent, who didn t care
much for school, and especially couldn t take competition. He went to boarding
school in Basel, Switzerland, where he found himself the object of a lot of jealous
harassment. He began to use sickness as an excuse, developing an embarrassing
tendency to faint under pressure. Although his first career choice was archeology, he
went on to study medicine at the University of Basel. While working under the
famous neurologist Krafft Ebing, he settled on psychiatry as his career. After
graduating, he took a position at the Burghoeltzli Mental Hospital in Zurich under
Eugene Bleuler, an expert on (and the namer of) schizophrenia. In 1903, he married

The Illusion Of Popular Culture
The Illusion of Popular Culture
In the early 19th century a man by the name of Phineas Taylor Barnum changed
popular culture with his extraordinary talent of promoting and advertising. His first
success came with a slave woman known as Joice Heath who he claimed to be the
nurse of George Washington. If this was true it would put Joice at 161 years old,
thousands of people went to see The greatest natural and national curiosity in the
world (Perlman 4/6/16) which turned Joice from an elderly woman to a national
spectacle. I believe that the portrayal of women in 19th century popular culture has
prevented the detachment of gender roles and has actually created confusion in the
eyes of the masses. I will start by comparing the Turkish Dance, Ella Lola which is
a short film of a woman dancing made in 1898 with 1850s megastars Madame
Clofullia and Jenny Swedish Nightingale Lind, then I will compare the film to the
New Women of Barnum and Bailey as well as early 20th century women. In order
to fully understand my argument it is necessary to analyze the film by itself. The
Turkish dance, Ella Lola is a video of a young woman dancing, she is wearing two
skirts, necklaces, a flower headband, and a loose shirt. The dancing contains a lot
of swirls, and hand movements as well as pelvic thrusts in both slow and fast
tempos, she shakes her upper body making the necklaces and her shirt ricochet off
each other. This was filmed in 1898 which was during the progressive
Bowel Constipation Essay
Constipation Treatment: Constipation is the term used to describe irregular bowel
actions, hard motions or difficulty in passing faces. It is twice as common in
women as it is in men and increases with age. A recent study revealed that 10% of
adults believed they had suffered from constipation during the previous fortnight.
Those results may have stemmed from the widespread belief that the bowels
should be open daily and that failure to do so will cause any umber of complaints
ranging from headaches to depression. In fact, one medical study has shown that the
average person may pass faeces as little as twice a week or as often as three times
every day. Children are often taken to a GP by a parent who id worried that their

Occasionally surgery may be the only hope of curing this condition. If your child
is usually fairly easy. First, offer them extra fluids, preferably as fruit juice. This is
especially important in hot weather. If this fails then the extra sugar in one or two
of their feeds may do the trick. If your child is still struggling to pass a hard motion
you should then consult your GP, who may pass a well vaselined finger into e
rectum. This often has spectacular results. Dietary Constipation The commonest
cause of constipation in young adults is dietary, often at a time when they are
dieting to excess and not receiving enough fibre. Irritable bowel syndrome may
cause constipation but this usually alternates the diarrhea is accompanied by
abdominal pain and bloating. Treatment consists of a high fibre diet an anti
spasmodics such as peppermint oil. Irritable bowel syndrome is much more
common in women and seems be stress related. If you are elderly and have been
constipated or two weeks more, especially if it is associated with eight losses or
bleeding, you should try these natural treatment to get rid of
A Nail The Kingdom
For want of a nail the kingdom was lost пїЅC that s how the catechism goes when
you boil it down. In the end, you can boil everything down to something similar пїЅC
or so Roberta Anderson thought much later on. It s either all an accident ... or all fate.
Anderson literally stumbled over her destiny in the small town of Haven, Maine, on
June 21st, 1988. That stumble was the root of the matter; all the rest was nothing but
history.
2
Anderson was out that afternoon with Peter, an aging beagle who was now blind in
one eye. Peter had been given to her by Jim Gardener in 1976. Anderson had left
college the year before with her degree only two months away to move onto her
uncle s place in Haven. She hadn t realized how lonely she d been until Gard brought
the dog. He d been a pup then, and Anderson sometimes found it difficult to believe
he was now old пїЅC eighty four in dog s years. It was a way of measuring her own
age. 1976 had receded. Yes indeed. When you were twenty five, you could still
indulge in the luxury of believing that, in your case, at least, growing up was a
clerical error which would eventually be rectified. When you woke up one day and
discovered your dog was eighty four and you yourself were thirty seven, that was a
view that had to be re examined. Yes indeed.
Anderson was looking for a place to cut some wood. She d a cord and a half laid by,
but wanted at least another three to take her through the winter. She had cut a lot
since those early days when
Drag Coefficient Lab Report
Purpose and Background:
We used an air track and varying amounts of mass to determine the drag coefficient
on an object. We used the equation FD=1/2CDpAV^2 to determine the drag
coefficient. We also used FD=ma to determine FD, and we used V^2=Vi^2+2a(x xi)
to determine velocity. Since the cross sectional area is remaining constant, the drag
coefficient should also remain constant. We will measure the acceleration of the
object and use that to determine velocity and drag coefficient. We will do this by
pushing the object down the air track, then we will choose the data points that show
relatively constant acceleration to calculate average velocity for each mass. We will
use the concept of drag to determine that drag coefficient should stay the ... Show

This shows that within the same mass, the drag coefficient was the same, but when
the mass changed, so did the drag coefficient. This contradicts our hypothesis as
we stated that the mass would have no effect on the drag coefficient. This is due to
the error in our experiment. When we measured the length of the track, we
measured the whole length. This is an error because the object sometimes did not
travel the entire length of the track as we started recording data after the hand was
released from the object, so it was not at the very end of the track. Another error in
our experiment was we assumed the average acceleration was the only acceleration
when this is not the case. The acceleration was changing as the object traveled
down the air track. Another inconsistency was that perhaps the air resistance on the
cardboard sail we created was not consistent. We could reduce the errors by doing
this experiment with the varying masses in a controlled environment where air
resistance and acceleration are constant. If we set up a photogate instead of just
assuming the length of the track was the length the object traveled, then we could
have known the real distance it traveled. Another way we could have reduced errors
is if we did this experiment more than just a measly two times per mass. Perhaps if
we had the time and resources to do this 100
Nicaragua Mission Trip
Before You Go...
Going to another country can be a little bit scary, especially if you are going to a
third world country and you don t plan on staying in the safe touristy areas. With
this blog, I hope to appeal to others who are going on a mission trip to Nicaragua for
the first time. Through my personal narrative, I hope to calm those first time jitters
that people are inclined to get before doing something outside of their comfort zone.
It can help when you have an idea about what you are getting into, but there are some
things that no one can understand until they have been there, and that s okay.
Before you go, it is important to keep a few things in mind:

My Tale: OmetepeIsland
After flying into Managua, the first place that we visited was Ometepe Island,
more specifically Moyogalpa. We took an hour long ferry from Revas to the
island. The island is made up of two volcanoes and it seemed cooler and more
tropical than the mainland. We stayed at Hotel Ometepetl by the ferry. It was clean,
safe, with a guard at the entrance, and the breakfast there was very good. My only
complaint, however, is that they did not have any hot water, but most places in
Nicaragua do not. Ometepe is located in lake Nicaragua and is made up of two
volcanoes. It take about an hour to take a ferry from the mainland to the island.
The congregation in Ometepe has grown tremendously in the last few years.
Interacting with the people there gave me my first real glimpse of the culture there.

According to Cinemablend, specifications for each role point to major characters.
The new list led to deductions about the movie s antagonists and other major
characters. The first character that is mentioned in it is called Louis. He is
described as man who is elegant and intelligent. The description of Louis as an
appealing entrepreneur with a dark side led to rumors that the name Louis refers
to the key villain Nathaniel Essex, also known as Mr. Sinister. The description
seems to match the character of Mr. Sinister in all the points. Additionally, the list
names a female named Vera who is in her mid 20s and early 30s. She is described
as tough, fiery, beautiful, smart and unpredictable. Reports suggest that this
description belongs to the female lead in Gambit Bella Donna Boudreaux. The
character is a childhood friend of Remy LeBeau or Gambit himself. The list also
describes a young man named Nash who is in his mid 20s and early 30s and a
malevolent threat. It is also stated that he is the heir to his mother s business. The
description led to conclusions that Nash is none other than Julien Boudreaux, or Bella

The Minimum Drinking Age
For many adults, alcohol is considered a luxury, but it might be better for young
adults and teens to hold off on this forbidden fruit until they of proper age. The
minimum drinking age has been a topic of controversy in Ontario for a while,
changing from 21, to 18, and now 19. While the consumption of alcohol in
regulated small amounts is okay, many younger adults and teens lack the necessary
self control, and indulge in binge drinking. This type of behaviour can often have a
negative effect on their bodies. There are also major concerns regarding road safety,
as car accidents involving an alcohol impaired driver are more frequent in those of
younger age in comparison to their older counterparts. The current minimum legal
drinking ageis too low, as there have been more cases of underage drinking, and
abuse of other substances. All of these issues could be avoided if the legal age for
consumption of alcohol in Ontario was raised back to the age of 21. Younger adults
and teens should abstain from alcohol in order to protect the development of their
bodies. A study done by The Royal Australasian College of Physicians states
Adolescents and young adults are particularly vulnerable to the harmful effects of
alcohol. Alcohol affects the development of the brain, which continues to form and
mature throughout adolescence ( Should the drinking age be lowered from 21 to a
younger age? ). Alcohol can cause irreversible damage to two parts of the brain; the
hippocampus and the
How Are Salt Used In Chinese Culture
There are many different forms of money that have been used by different cultures
throughout the world. One example of this would be salt which was not only used
with food, but was a form of money used by many ancient civilizations. Sodium

food. Salt was used for religious offerings and for tradebetween the Phoenicians and
their Mediterranean Empire. It was used as a form of salary for many Roman
soldiers. Furthermore, the Chinese believed that taxing salt would help the economy

Peppercorns are a type of fruit that has a seed inside the fruit flesh. There are many

which are used to add spice to a food item. Peppercorns are widely known for their

the Egyptians who used to stuff the nostrils of the dead with peppercorns. The
Egyptians used to do this to keep the nose of the deceased from flattening while
they were wrapping them to make a mummy (Hays, 3). Furthermore, peppercorns

pepper was so valuable that the people who worked with pepper had to wear

Are you a shooter who is into long range targets? Do you like to hunt antelope or
other game that requires long range shots? If so, you already know that having a

that has all the features you want at a price you can afford can be difficult, but I
have discovered a fantastic product. It s the Bushnell Elite Tactical G2 6 24x50 FFP
Reticle ERS RifleScope. This scope comes with all the features long range shooters
look for at an affordable price. Check out these great features:
Magnification
The Elite Tactical scope has magnification from 6 times to 24 times. This gives you
effective ranges from 50 yards out to 1000 yards, depending upon the shooter s
preference. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bushnell has two features to increase light transmission in the Elite Tactical scope.
The first is the oversize 50mm objective lens. A larger objective lens, or opening,
simply allows the scope to gather more light. This makes vision in low light
conditions much better. Second, Bushnell applies their Ultra Wide Band Coating to
the lenses to cut down light reflection. Both of these features combine to maximize
this scope s light gathering ability.
Weatherproof
As people with glasses know, moisture is the enemy of all optics. Rifle scopes are
no exception. Bushnell s Rainguard HD lens coating repels moisture to prevent
blurring and fogging, even in the rain. On the inside of the scope, a nitrogen purge
acts as a barrier to moisture to prevent fogging as well. A little rain isn t going to
affect your shooting with this scope.
Parallax Adjustment
All high quality scopes have an adjustment to eliminate errors due to parallax. The
Elite Tactical has a convenient adjustment on the side that enables the shooter to
adjust parallax to the desired shooting distance from a shooting position. This is a
great feature that most precision shooters will
Timeded Writing Reflective Report
My enrollment in school has familiarized me with timed writing before. Through
my progression in the education system my experience with timed writing gave me
practice and made me more comfortable with it. However, there are still areas where
my writing needs improving. Being able to write proficiently in a timed environment
requires a lot more practice than I have had. Nonetheless the WPJ practice
assignment is a means for me to improve the quality of my writing. I will use it to
determine my strengths and weaknesses as a writer along with analyzing the
challenges I faced during the process of the timed writing. Analyzing my timed
writing practice I noticed that I do not deviate from the main topic of my paper. All
three body paragraphs have main points that are related to my thesis. Because of this
my paragraphs stayed on the topic of the prompt and did not shift into other off topic
subjects. Another strength I found was making claims and using evidence to prove
my claims true. I advocate a certain point and then I use evidence from the texts

When I m not writing under time constraints I have a harder time forming ideas, so
my writing process is slowed down. With the constant pressure under time I was
forced to write in a quicker pace and think harder about the topic and texts that
came with the prompt. However, I found this time constraint to be also very
challenging. It shifted my focus away from sentence structure and grammar.
Because of this, I made more spelling errors than usual, and my paper didn t have
the most sound sentence structure. I also had to plan an entire essay in about 10
minutes which was difficult because normally I have a whole week to plan and

Being Infected with Tuberculosis
TB is a disease that infect mostly human s lung. It can spread through air way. This
can be done through coughing or sneezing from TB patients. The bacteria travel in
the air and infect healthy people. This disease is commonly occurring in low
income countries, deprived areas and big cities in a developed country. There are
some factors that contribute to TB which are immigration, social inequalities, HIV
infection and misuse of drugs or alcohol (Millet et al., 2012). The TB incidence is
increasing when the HIV infection among the population is increasing. In Western
Europe, the TB cases occur because of immigration. So, there are different
epidemiological pattern in different countries due to different factors that
contribute to it (Glaziou et al., 2013). In 2012, there roughly 13% of TB patients
were HIV positive. In Africa, estimation that there is 75% of TB cases with HIV
positive (WHO, 2013). HIV will affect the immune response, which is the cell
mediated immunity that carry out by helper T cell. HIV positive patients have
lower amount of helper T cell as compared to HIV negative patients with TB. This
cell is extreme important in defending against TB. HIV infection will accelerate
TB infection and the risk of death in HIV TB co infected patients is higher (Sharma
et al., 2005). Since 1990 the mortality rate of TB is decreased by 45% and the
incidence rate is also decreased in major regions of the world. This is aid by the

Taking a Look at Surrogate Mothers
Surrogacy is a controversial issue nowadays. Surrogacy allows a woman to give
the gift of parenthood to a couple who would otherwise not have been able to
experience it, either due to infertility or inability to adopt a child. In some cases, the
surrogate can obtain monetary compensation for her services. According to Anderson
(1990), A commercial surrogate mother is someone who is paid money to bear a
child for other people and to terminate her parental rights, to lead to a situation that
the others may raise the child as exclusively their own.
In the aspect of the intended parents, there are reasons for people who need the
surrogacy service. Firstly, Intended mothers can have a huge variety of health issues
that make pregnancy impossible or undesirable. For instance, some women s womb
cannot support a fetus that they may miscarry for many times that cannot get
pregnant successfully. Secondly, there are also women that have biological problems
which affect their ability to reproduce. The reproductive system is complex and can
cause various ailments which make pregnancy impossible. Thirdly, some women
may turn to surrogate mothers because of severe health problems. While the woman
may be healthy enough to be an effective mother, her body may be unable to survive
pregnancy. For example, some women would choose to use a surrogate mother
because they have heart problems which may cause the mother to be unable to
survive in a traditional child birth. There are also women that

Only the gold and silver flowed now, not from the coffers of the king, but from the
purses of men who had made, say a fortune from industry, and returned, in their wills,
a bounteous share of it to endow more chairs, more lectureships, more fellowships in
the university where they had learnt their craft(754). This is a quote from Virginias
Woolf s essay, A Room of One s Own . Here she is making a point about universities
and the funding that they received from men that had gone to school there. Woolf s
essay takes place during the early nineteen hundreds when most women did not attend
a university. There was great inequality of those who attended school because men
had control over all the money. The men in society either received... Show more

Thankfully times have changed, and women writers are recognized equally as men
are today in society. The main reason is that women today have an equal chance at
education. Education today is open to everyone, because education can be paid for,
or funded in various ways.
Universities today are much easier to attend for anyone that wishes to go to
school. There are so many different types of programs out there today that make
education more affordable for people that do not have the assets to pay for an
education themselves. There are many forms of financial aid available for specific
groups of people. For example, there are scholarship programs set up specifically
for women, or programs set up specifically for minorities. There are also programs
set up for people with certain disabilities. These programs are set up in this sort of
way to give everyone a chance to fit in to one of the specific categories. There are
many ways to apply for these types of financial aid. You can do them through your
high school, place of work, or even find them over the internet.
What about the people that don t fit into these specific categories? For these people,
there are general financial aid programs established. These programs are set up by
private, public, or government institutions. These programs include scholarships,
student loans, grants, and many more. Many of these types of financial aid

Cause Analysis (RCA) A root cause analysis (RCA) is an essential tool that can be
used to examine and understand the ways in which systems fail as well as discuss
those specific failures that led to a specific adverse event and potentially implement
steps or behaviors to prevent that event from happening in the future (Ogrinc Huber,
2013). In the case study presented, a number of system failures may have contributed
to the patient outcome. As such, an RCA of the case study would help determine

A flow chart in this step of the process should be utilized as well in order to aid in
the visualization of the ideal behaviors. This process may also RTT1 TASK 2 4
help point out additional behaviors or improvements in the system otherwise
overlooked in the verbal or written analysis phase. After careful analysis of what
had happened and what should have happened takes place, the RCA team should
ideally focus on why the adverse events happened. In this step, the goal is pinpoint
the direct causes and contributory factors (Ogrinc Huber, 2013). By doing this,
the root cause of an event can be identified. One suggestion made by the Institute of
Healthcare Improvement in the root cause analysis process is to ask Why? five
times (Ogrinc Huber, 2013). 1. Why did this happen? a. The LPN silenced the
alarm notifying the staff about the Mr. B s O2 saturation of 85%. 2. Why was it
silenced? a. The LPN was engaged in caring for the emergency transport patient
along with the RN and was also in the process of discharging the other two patients.
3. Why did the LPN not notify the RN of the alarm and reading? a. With the
information provided, it appears that the LPN was distracted as well as did not
follow her scope of practice. 4. Why was the LPN distracted? a. Additional or
backup staff that was available per the information provided was not present or

The Great, By Richard Bausch
Happily Never After
The universe doesn t owe you, me, or anyone a thing, except for death. Though as
kids most of us were led to believe that with enough effort and hard work were
going to become whatever we wanted to be, we were going to have whatever our
little hearts desired, and we were going to do whatever we wanted to do. However,
as we grew up we realized that this is not the case. There are millions of people
who did not become professional athletes, models, or billionaires, people who
never got to have the mansions, cars, and fame that they always longed for, people
who never got to travel the world, cure cancer, or fly into space. These are all
mostly childlike dreams, which were probably imposed unto us by either our parents
or society. There s nothing wrong with children having these sort of improbable
dreams, however, there comes a time where we can no longer be children. In the
story Tandolfo the Great, written by Richard Bausch, we are introduced to Rodney
Wilbury aka Tandolfo the Great, who is a suitable example to demonstrate what
life can be like for those who are unable to grow out of their childlike mind sets. In
this analysis I will be inspecting how Tandolfo the Great s childish mind set, from
his strong sense of entitlement to his inability to let go of the past events, has almost
destroyed his life and how it can destroy anyone else s.
Tandolfo the Great is a twenty six year old man, who is a part time clown that has

Kinky Boots Analysis
Kinky Boots: Still Stunningly Flashy
Kinky Boots is a stunningly flashy Broadway musical that tugs on the heartstrings
with its equally stunning clichГ©s. With its plot originally conceived as a British
film in 2005, the stage production was not produced until 2012 and was based on
the book written by Harvey Fierstein. Furthermore, the show did not find its way to
Broadway until 2013. When it debuted, the show opened to critical acclaim with
Billy Porter and Stark Sands originating the roles of lead characters Lola and
Charlie. Since its Broadway debut, Kinky Boots has been a smashing commercial
success. Over the years, Kinky Boots has swapped out the actors in its cast many
times. However, the original leading actors of the show, Billy Porter and Stark
Sands, have returned once again to play Lola and Charlie in 2017.
Kinky Boots, directed by Jerry Mitchell with music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper,
follows the story of Charlie Price when he inherits his family s shoe factory from his
father. The factory has fallen on hard times with sales reaching depressing lows and
the factory bleeding cash flow. All seems lost until Charlie has a fateful meeting with
drag performer Lola, who inspires Charlie to reinvent the factory and produce a new
line of high heeled boots in an unlikely partnership. Tensions mount and personalities
clash as their production deadline nears, but in the end the partners realize that they
have more in common than meets the eye.

Argumentative Essay On The White Cube
The purpose of this essay is to examine the controversial topic of the white cube
and how the artists try to go over this fixed model. The first part of the essay is
focused on the description of the model of the white cube and how it starts to be the
ideally model for the art exhibition. Far away from the previous conception of the
exhibition where the Salon Model was predominant. Nevertheless it starts to be clear
that this model is not perfect: directly connected with the business of the art and the
art institution, become a real obstacle for the artists. The first writer/artist who speaks
about the white cubewas Brian O Doherty with a series of three articles published by

Love in Anton Chekhov’s The Lady with the Dog Essay
example
The Russian attitude toward love during Chekhov s time is very patriarchal and is
considered normal to marry for practical reasons, parental pressures or other
considerations rather than for love. The feelings that accompany love, such as
passion and spirituality, are not a societal consideration and this institutional attitude
toward human emotionis the catalyst for Chekhov s story. When a person is deprived
of love, he or she builds up a futility of life which consumes the human soul. In Anton
Chekhovs The Lady with the Dog , the readers are placed in a setting where the
main character Gurov, and his love interest Anna, are given the emotional freedom to
feel love toward one another. This freedom is the driving force in the story... Show

He does not feel anything toward women and in fact, refers to them as the lower
race (1) and that their beauty aroused hatred in him and the lace on their linen
reminded him of scales (118). As the story ends, the readers learn about Gurov s
consciousness and that his feelings towards women have changed. The motive for his
alteration begins with Gurov s love for Anna, and later these feelings makes him
sleepless and restless because of continuous thinking and dreaming about Anna.
The setting shows the time and place in which a situation occurs. In story The
Lady with the Pet Dog , the situations take different places throughout the narrative.
The story begins with Gurov sitting in a cafГ© in Yalta when he first sees the
character Anna Sergeevna with whom he becomes fascinated. Yalta is a vacation
spot and Gurov is already well known of his adventures and immoral behavior.
While on vacation there, he realizes that this place does not have too much to do
other than meet new people. Since he has already known many women vacationing
on this resort, he decides to switch his interests on the new arrivals. Once he meets
Anna Sergeyevna, the setting takes place again in Yalta near the sea. Chekhov
provides a detailed description of the sea and the romance of the location including
the chirrup of the grasshoppers, the heat, and the smell of the sea. Chekhov describes
a stroll Anna and Gurov take as the scenery
Essay on The Success and Failure of the New Deal
The New Deal The United States encountered many ordeals during the Great
Depression (1929 1939). Poverty, unemployment and despair clouded the American
Dream and intensified the urgency for solutions to address and control the
nationwide damage. President Franklin Roosevelt proposed the New Deal to
detoxify the nation of its suffering. It can be argued that the New Dealwas ineffective
due to the inability to end the Great Depressionwith its short term solutions and
created more problems, however; it was successful in regards to providing direct
relief for the needy, economic recovery and some structural reform for the majority
of the general public in the severity of the Great Depression. In terms of relief, the

With troubling incidents like the stock market crash of 1929, reform was highly
necessary to never have a relapse of these events in the future. Historian Allan
Nevins says that the New Deal was the epiphany the government needed to possess
greater responsibility for the economic welfare of its citizens. It made the
government initiate attempts to reorganize the economic turmoil and restore the
people s faith in banking system which was successful with the Emergency
Banking Relief Act and Bank Holiday. Congress allotted for the Treasury
Department to weed out the unfit banks and reopen the stable banks, significantly
lowering bank failures. Especially with measures like the Glass Steagall Act it
offered assurance and insurance to citizens with a compensation of 5,000 dollars in
the case of an inconvenience of their bank and since the creation of the FDIC there
were no incidents in which a depositor has lost its insured funds. Many of the
legislations passed under the Reform point remained for fifty years to prove the
reliability and effectiveness like the Securities and Exchange Commission that
regulated stock market activities and prevented another large scale crash to occur,
keeping the economy at bay. And the Social SecurityAct of 1935 to reinforce the

Edward Said States Essay examples
States Edward: Said
States, by Edward Said is an essay written by a Palestinian man with first hand
accounts of daily life in that region of the Middle East. Said was renowned in the
literary community as one of the most distinguished literary critics and scholars...
Born in Jerusalem in 1935, Said, at the age of twelve, fled with his family to Cairo

They do not have luxuries, they do not take anything for granted. Said is
interesting in the decision of the placement of these two images. Looking further
into the second picture with a western perspective, the pathos is still evident, but it
is hidden in a sense. For example, if someone were wondering down the streets of
Manhattan with a camera, most people (with some exceptions, obviously) would
shy away from even asking for their picture being taken and, for the most part,
expect to have the picture afterward if there were any request. After seeing the
image, the reader feels sympathy whether they mean to or not. Whether or not the
happiness is a facade or plain ignorance, there is a subconscious level of sympathy
that readers find themselves experiencing. Ignorance is something I believe Said
plays off of well. Said knows that most people of the world are, in fact, ignorant of
what the Palestinians are experiencing. He sees ignorance as a representation of
helplessness, moreso than he sees it as a form of prejudice.
Another perfect example of the image of being pathetic that Said gives the people of
Palestine is the quote on page 587 used in our prompt. Said uses expressions and
strong figurative language such as metaphors to show just how broken of a people
the Palestinians are. The sentence on page 587, Instead, the past, like the present,
offers only occurrences and coincidences. is a strong way of

Causes Of Zollverein In The War Of Unification
Throughout the Wars of Unification, there were many pivotal events which had
ultimately led to the Prussian Empire as the victor against the Austrians. Such
important factors would include: Prussia s economic success through the Zollverein,
the strengthening of their military due to the economic boom, the crucial role of Otto
von Bismarck, isolation of the Austrian Empire through means of acquiring foreign
aid, and the detrimental obstacles Austria had to face at the time. Even though there
may be even more factors that contributed to the Prussian Empire s success in the
Austro Prussian War, these are the most vital causes that concluded to their triumph.
One of the first and foremost factors that led to Prussias victory would be their
economic success and influence throughout all of Germany. This had occurred
because of the Zollverein, which proved to be extremely beneficial for their nation
since it resulted in larger markets, increased profits, and had overall bettered their
economy. It helped them increase their influence in other German states as well as
placing Austria at a disadvantage because they had been excluded from receiving
any of the benefits that came with the Zollverein. The effects of the Zollverein led to
Prussia gaining economic control over German states and spreading the idea of
German unification through the newly established transportation systems which was
both superior and cheaper in every way allowed others to see how similar they all

French (diplomatie) to refer to the work of a negotiator on behalf of a sovereign.
There is a long history of diplomatic activity going back at least two millennia.
Sovereigns sent envoys to other sovereigns for various reasons: to prevent wars, to
cease hostilities, or merely to continue peaceful relations and further economic
exchanges. The first foreign ministry was created in Paris by Cardinal Richelieu in
1626. Other European countries followed the French example. As absolute monarchs
gave way to constitutional monarchies and republics, embassies and legations became
more institutionalized all over Europe, and by the end of the nineteenth century
European style diplomacy had been adopted throughout the world.
The ability to practice diplomacy is one of the defining elements of a state.
Diplomacy has been practiced since the inception of civilization. In Europe,
diplomacy begins with the first city states formed in ancient Greece. Diplomats were
sent only for specific negotiations, and would return immediately after their mission
concluded. Diplomats were usually relatives of the ruling family or of very high rank

Safe Disposal of Insulation Material
There have been various types of Insulating materials used within the electrical power
industry since the beginning of electrical power. And over the years scientist and
environmentalist have discovered that most if not all insulating materials are
harmful to the human body or the environment in one way or another, being shot
term or long term exposures. First of all, the term insulating material refers to a
substance that has the ability to resist electrical energy flow to make a conductor or
copper wire safe to touch by human hands for instance. But all these insulating
materials will break down at a certain limit if the power is strong enough, so this tells
us that there is no such thing as a perfect insulator. This example explained above is
one use for an insulating material within the electrical power industry. Insulators
serve many advanced purposes and conditions. Be it Arc suppression within circuit
breakers or voltage insulation on power lines, or even protective equipment worn by
electrical workers. A majority of these insulating materials have been known to cause
health hazards to humans and environmental hazards to the environment which will
be discussed in a bit more detail further on, and
Buddhism Peter Harvey Sexual Yoga
In his Introduction to Buddhism Peter Harvey refers quite openly to sexual yoga, so
I will use that term here.
Tantric Buddhism reevaluates the body, based on the early Buddhist insight that
nirvana is realized through bodily practice. The Guhyasamaja Tantra advocates sexual
yoga, including pleasure as the path to Buddhahood (enjoying desires without
attachment requires a far more rigorous discipline than simple abstinence). Sexual
yoga is mostly practiced in the first Tibetan Buddhist school, the Nyingma, founded
by Padmasambhava in the 8th century. Only partners who have years of physical
training may practice sexual yoga. The seminal fluid, symbolizing the bodhicitta, is
retained and visualized as ascending through an energy channel ... Show more content

The essential reality of the phenomenal is always emptiness. This is the ultimate
teaching of interdependent origination. Phenomena themselves do not create
suffering, it is craving that reifies sentient energy into illusory objects of attachment
(kinetic and static). Therefore, all energy is essentially emptiness. Any phenomenon,
therefore, can through realization be transmuted from a factor of ignorance into a
factor of enlightenment by the skilled means of quenching desirous attachment
towards it. As Ananda himself states in the Pali Canon, desire disappears entirely
when it is completely satisfied. Therefore, quenching (nirvana) is also the ultimate
satisfaction of desire. In order to realize this in practice one must be very advanced
towards the realization of emptiness and thus emancipation, for anyone else would
not be able to overcome attachment and thus intensify even more one s bondage to
rebirth Therefore, by definition only the very advanced yogi can practice sexual
yoga. At the same time, there are also degrees of practice but sexual yoga is
certainly not a simple or an easy practice either to undertake or to be successful
Who Is The Antagonist In Quicksand By Nella Larsen
The first encounter with Helga Crane, Nella Larsen s protagonist in the novel
Quicksand, introduces the heroine unwinding after a day of work in a dimly lit
room. She is alone. And while no one else is present in the room, Helga is
accompanied by her own thoughts, feelings, and her worrisome perceptions of the
world around her. Throughout the novel, it becomes clear that most of Helga s
concerns revolve around two issues race and sex. Even though there are many human
character antagonists that play a significant role in the novel and in the story of
Helga Crane, such as her friends, coworkers, relatives, and ultimately even her own
children, her race and her sexuality become Helga s biggest challenges. These two
taxing antagonists... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Larsen uses this lacerating metaphor to jaggedly attack the attitudes and beliefs of
Booker T. Washington, who sought to form schools to train blacks for specific
occupations in low skilled fields and believed racial agitation was a course for
disaster (Hill 6). Helga credits her unease at Naxos to a quality within herself that
she cannot understand (Larsen 12). Helga soon confesses her bi racial frustration to
the principal, Dr. Anderson, but only after becoming disturbed by her sexual
attraction towards him. Helga s first confrontation with Dr. Anderson almost leaves
her speechless! Larsen describes Helga s reaction as an inward confusion that felt
to her like hysteria (Larsen 18). Larsen again only hints at this attraction, in an
indirect manner. A careful analysis of the text, however, will make her point
obvious. Larsen illustrates Helga s sexual temptation regarding Dr. Anderson with
clever insinuations. As their conversation develops, Helga is overcome by a
mystifying yearning that throbbed in her (Larsen 20). Larsen uses words, such as
desire and urge in conjunction with Helga s inner thoughts to delicately express
Helga s sexual enticement in the wake of Anderson s charm (Larsen 20). It is in this
meeting with Anderson that Helga s sexual feelings clash with her bi racial insecurity.
The resulting emotions from this inner conflict leave Helga with a sense of lacerated
pride that

Pharmaceutical Industry Pharmaceutical needs have been a part of everyday human
life ever since we have walked on this Earth. It is a need that is demanded each and
every day by different people, for various medical conditions. It is incredible how the
medicine today differs from the ones back then, including the way it was advertised
and the process of it being made. In the nineteenth century, pharmaceutical companies
used marketing tools through advertisements directly from the consumer to producer,
usually through newspaper ads. Originating in England, patented medicines made
their way across to America in the 18th century. A lot of the times these medicines

This needed to be addressed immediately due to the amounts of different
prescription drugs that were on the street at that time. This is when the American
Medical Association was organized. Starting in 1847, the goals of this organization
were to improve the image of medicine and begin to gain control over physicians
and their qualifications. Between the years 1800 1840, the quality of education in
the medical field declined due to the fact that traditional four year programs were
replaced by training in medical colleges. The only issue with this is that once you
graduated you were licensed, but the qualifications of each physician varied so
widely that there was a motion to have a national conference in order to discuss and
improve the American medical education. An important document that came out of
these conferences is the Code of Ethics that was infused with the American Medical
Association. This Code of Ethics consisted of three chapters. The first, was the the
Duties of Physicians to Their Patients, and of the Obligations of Patients to their
Physician. Second was Of the Duties of Physicians to Each Other and to the
Profession at Large. And finally, chapter 3 was Of the Duties of the Profession to the
Public, and of the Obligations of the Public to the Profession. The code seemed to

Theme Analysis: A Sound of Thunder
Have you ever done something you can t undo? In the story A Sound of Thunder
this man travels back in time to kill a dinosaur. More specifically a T Rex is what he
wanted to kill. When he traveled back into time he and the other hunters got told the
rules, but when the time came to kill the beast he was scared. So he ran, ran right off
the path. Exactly where he was told not to go. And once he made it back to the
machine he was sent to go get the bullets from the dinosaur as his punishment. Once
he returned to the present things have changed. The sign from the shop was different
and so was the president! When he realizes what he has done he was so upset. The
theme of this story is, There are consequences
Recycling And Recycling Of Papers
First, when paper isn t recycled, 80% of it is placed in landfills. Decomposition of
the paper in landfills produces methane, a greenhouse gas with twenty one times
the power of carbon dioxide. U.S. EPA has identified landfills as the largest
beginning of methane emanation in the U.S., and the refraction of paper is the
largest contributor to the methane being generated. If paper is recycled, it doesn t
end up in the waste stream, headed for a landfill where it will degrade and generate
methane. Simply out, the less paper landfilled, the less methane emitted. The more
way to recycle all materials, the less it goes into places where trash is being dumped.
Second, recyclingalso improves air quality by reducing the need for power. By
collecting, processing and shipping recycled stuff to industrial users requires less
energy than mining, refining, processing and shipping natural resources according to
Pennsylvania s Department of Environmental Protection. That s a good sight because
the more power the United States uses, the more fossil fuels it burns. The higher the
fossil fuel use, the more pollutant diligence pumps into the atmosphere.
Manufacturing updated news report out of recycled paper requires less energy than
making paper out of wood. Production of 100% recycled poster board uses 50
percent less energy compared to virgin grades of paperboard, thus significantly
reducing the greenhouse released into the atmosphere. Third, paper recycling leaves
more trees standing

To Kill A Mockingbird Courage Theme
As Atticus declares in his closing argument, ...there is one way in this country in
which all men are created equal...that institution, gentlemen, is a court ( Lee 233).
The courthouse is a place residing in the affairs of two opposing sides defending
what is right in their eyes and an outcome that could reveal the true mentality of
society. In the story, To Kill A Mockingbird
, Harper Lee utilizes characters and
conflicts in order to illustrate the themes of courage, racial prejudice, and coming of
age. The theme of courage is displayed by exploiting characters and conflicts. A
lawyer named Atticus stands up to Maycomb to defy the disease of prejudice from
the other townspeople by taking up Tom Robinson s case. He believes that courage...

Bob Ewell is known for being labeled as one of the lower classes amongst the
whites in Maycomb, lacking a sense of equality, especially his rancor towards
other races. He refers to a black person s home as a n**ger nest and worries that
they are dangerous to live around ( Lee 199). He represents the dark side of the
South by growing accustomed to the racial stereotypes since birth, leading him to
defame Tom Robinson for the false accusation of raping his daughter, Mayella Ewell.
During Bob s testification, he points his finger at him and utters that [ He] seen that
black n**ger ruttin on his Mayella ( Lee 196). The way he phrases his accusation
dehumanizes Tom, emphasizes his race over everything else, and compares Tom to a
beast, with rutting usually applied to animals, signifying a man vs man conflict.
Furthermore, the theme of racial prejudice is clearly evident in Maycomb, with the
negative attitude thriving on the manipulation of morals concerning blacks. The
coming of age theme is exposed through the use of conflicts and characters. Jeremy
Finch is perceived in many ways throughout the book by changing socially,
emotionally, physically, and most importantly, mentally, to overcome the barrier
between his maturity. During the court s prolonged decision of reaching the final

Dr Jekyll And Hyde In The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And...
Every human being consists of qualities that form to either their good or bad side.
No one is purely good or evil. To try to fit in society, people are willing to do
whatever it takes to hide any characteristics that might fall short of the social norm.
In Robert Louis Stevenson s novella, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,
the characters demonstrate how every human being consists of both qualities and
how people suppress the qualities that are undesired by society in order to fit in.
However, after a while people can no longer stand to hide part of who they are which
leads people to substance use to take away their conscience in order to show their
dark side.

People would rather be miserable and pretend to be someone else, than risk judged
for who they really are. In the novella, Stevenson uses Dr. Jekyll s experiment to
show how far people are willing to go to be freed from judgment of society. Dr.
Jekyll conducted an experiment that split his personality into two people, the good
and evil side of him. Dr. Jekyll knew he was risking his life before he started but he
thought it would be worth it to get to be the other side of him for once. I hesitated
long before I put this theory to the test of practice. I knew well that I risked death.
(57) Dr. Jekyll was willing to risk everything to experience his other side. When Dr.
Jekyll drank his chemical solution, he transformed into Mr. Hyde. Mr. Hyde was
completely free to be evil without his conscience telling him it was wrong. No one
really knew who Mr. Hyde was so he had no reason to fear judgment from others.
He was completely free to act as himself. This relates to the real world in that
people use drugs and alcohol to transform into their dark side. When using drugs or
drinking alcohol, your body loses all control over your consciousness. The
substances are more powerful and led people to do things they would normally not
even think they are capable of and might regret when experiencing withdrawal of the
Syrian Kurds And The Civil War
In the midst of the chaos of the on going Syrian civil war, the nation of Syrian Kurds
has slowly coalesced and formed its own self proclaimed sovereign country, complete
with its own constitution and form of government. Though still in its early days, it
has already collaborated with international powers to fight off terrorist groups, and
remained a strong hold in the region of northern Syria. This conflict will continue to
evolve and have major implications for the future of Syrian Kurds, and other groups
in the region with regard to questions of resource control and Kurdish sovereignty.
This is a conflict that requires national attention and concern because Syrian Kurds

Therefore, this will be an area of further conflict due to the resources this region
holds. When the fighting in Syria subsides, the Kurds in this region stand to lose
their self proclaimed autonomy due to outside influence and interest in these scarce
resources. This paper examines the challenges Rojava will face in the coming years,
and the possible necessary steps needed for the Kurds to claim stability in a region
surrounded by opposition.
This paper asks: how has elite manipulation for political, economic, and territorial
gains produced unfavorable circumstances for the Syrian Kurdish population? And
how will this factor into Kurdish claim of sovereignty in Rojava, given the region is
rich with scarce natural resources? Therefore, the main point this paper will argue is
that elite manipulation aided in creating the Kurdish ethnic conflict within Syria in
the decades leading up to the Syrian civil war, along with how this elite manipulation
holds the potential to cause further problems for Kurds when it comes to the issue of
autonomy and self governance in the region they have claimed as their own. In other
words, the Kurdish ethnic conflict within Syria will create further problems for the
notions of proclaimed Kurdish
Selling Women
Selling Women Short In this article about the courageous Betty Dukes and the
number of women behind her, we see how the world s Super Store Wal Mart has
many cases of sexual discrimination (and all other forms of discrimination as well.)
We see a false hope, so to say with Wal Mart s advertisements. Things are often too
good to be true, which is where Betty Dukes story comes into play and is an
important lesson to many women and others who are being discriminated against.
Before reading this article, I never believed in the pay gap or denial of growth
/promotion against women. Even though there was no factual information on the pay
gap, they did mention the percentage of women associates, 72%. Whereas only 34%
of manager positions are held

Operational Planning for Wal Mart
Introduction
The first Wal Mart was opened in Rogers, Arkansas, in 1962. By 1969 it was
incorporated into Wal Mart Stores, Inc., and in 1972 went public on the New York
Stock Exchange. The company grew steadily across the United States, and by
1990 was the nation s largest retailer. In 1991 and 1994, Wal Mart moved into
Mexico and Canada respectively. By 1997 it was incorporated into the Dow Jones
Industrial Average. As of 2005, Wal Mart has stores in the United Kingdom, and
Puerto Rico, and brings in revenue of close to 300 billion dollars a year. In 2006,
Wal Mart invaded the China and India s markets. During the last two decades, Wal

Wal Mart works with it s sellers until they feel they have the best quality for their
money spent (Hoffman, W. 2006). One example, Wal Mart has an automatic
recording system that is in connection with one of their clients which lets Wal Mart
know when it is time to re stock product. After notification, the store orders a re
supply at the closest Procter and Gamble factory. The product is then transported
straight to the branch of the store that separates the product to go to each receiving
store. The current plan of operation between this receiving store and Proctor and
Gamble creates better coordination which allows Proctor and Gamble to cut its costs
giving savings to the buying store (Bolan, C. 2005).
Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats in Wal Mart s
Operational Planning
Wal Mart has established their selves as a market leader by using simple strategy of
offering merchandise at lower prices. By the use of efficient logistics that consist of
the latest technology and inventory management processes, Wal Mart improve its
buying power, scale of operations, and minimizes cost for the company as one of
their strengths (Wal Mart Stores, Inc. SWOT Analysis 2006). One of company s
weaknesses is the declining prices and diminishing margins. With the increase in
operational efficiencies and import of Chinese goods in the US market, Wal Mart has
been suffering from

  • 1. Personality Essay Sample Writing an essay on the topic of "Personality" can be both challenging and rewarding. The complexity arises from the multifaceted nature of the subject itself. Defining and exploring personality involves delving into psychological theories, behavioral patterns, and individual uniqueness. To create a comprehensive essay, one must navigate through a diverse range of aspects, such as genetic influences, environmental factors, and the interplay of nature versus nurture. Crafting a compelling essay also requires an in-depth understanding of various personality traits, such as extroversion, introversion, openness, conscientiousness, agreeableness, and neuroticism. Moreover, it involves examining the cultural and societal dimensions that shape an individual's personality. The challenge lies in presenting a well-structured narrative that seamlessly integrates research findings, case studies, and personal reflections to provide a nuanced perspective on the topic. Additionally, exploring the historical evolution of personality theories and their contemporary relevance demands a meticulous approach. Balancing the academic rigor with engaging writing is crucial to captivate the reader's interest. Analyzing real-life examples, anecdotes, or case studies can add depth to the essay, but synthesizing information from diverse sources while maintaining coherence is no easy feat. Despite the difficulties, writing a "Personality" essay offers an opportunity for self-reflection and growth as a writer. The ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner is a valuable skill that can be honed through this process. In conclusion, tackling a "Personality Essay" requires navigating through the intricate web of psychological concepts, individual differences, and societal influences. The challenge lies not only in presenting well-researched information but also in crafting a narrative that engages and enlightens the reader. • 2. Assignment 2 Assignment 2 Gorgeous George blows fans away Royals or readable? Introduction Photojournalism is used to represent a news story through a singular/series of images. • 3. Bullfighters In The Capital Of The World Everybody has a hobby and a career, which they love and cherish. Sometimes, due to reasons they cannot control, they are no longer able to continue that career or hobby anymore. This is the case in Ernest Hemingway s story, The Capital of the World(1936). At the Pension Luarca, a hotel in Madrid, many second rate bullfighters stay there for long periods of time. These bullfighters were once great, but most of them cannot bullfight anymore, and they cannot do anything to change that. Ernest Hemingwaywas born in 1899, he was a journalist. He often travelled around the world, which influenced all his stories. In The Capital of the World(1936), Ernest Hemingway uses the characters of the story to show that although bullfightingis popular, certain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The picadors were also second rate bullfighters, who lived in the hotel. The first picador was a thin, gray haired man who was known to be a good bullfighter. He was often distracted by women and alcohol, which led to his downfall. The author says: [O]ne was a thin, hawk faced, gray haired man [...] drank too much e evening and gazed amorously at any woman in the pension [...] Both were great picadors although the first was reputed to have lost much of his ability through drink and dissipation (par. 8). This picador was a great bullfighter, but he was always distracted by women and was addicted to alcohol which led to his downfall. He became an old man who constantly drank and would flirt with any woman he saw in the hotel. Also, the second picador was also a great bullfighter, but did not have good relationships with matadors due to some of his negative personality traits. The author says: The other was huge, dark, brown faced, good looking, with black hair like an Indian and enormous hands [...] the second was said to be too headstrong and quarrelsome to stay with any matador more than a single season (par. 8). Due to the picador s personality traits, he cannot continue being a bullfighter, which is something he cannot not control. Both the picadors are unable to continue their career in

Samantha promised that she would not sell the oboe to anyone else before Saturday, and added that Penny could collect the oboe at any time before noon on Saturday. On Wednesday, Penny phoned and left a message with Samantha s daughter, Anne, saying that she had got the money and would collect the oboe on Saturday morning about 10.30am. If this were to be considered such, then the acceptance would not necessarily be binding. Samantha then promised that she would not sell the oboe to anyone else before Saturday and added that Penny could collect it anytime before noon on that day. Then on Wednesday, there is a phone call from Penny hoping to reach Samantha to tell of confirmation of accumulating the money required to purchase the oboe. Unfortunately, Samantha was unavailable and her daughter Anne took the phone call. Penny left a message with Anne that she had the agreed sum of money and would collect the oboe on the agreed day at 10.30am, in this case the Saturday of the same week. Anne then forgot to tell Samantha about the message. Could this still be taken as acceptance of the offer by Samantha? Penny had passed on the acceptance, but it was to Anne, not to Samantha. On the Thursday, Samantha was entertaining friends and the subject of the sale of the oboe came into conversation. One of her friends, Gillian, was interested and offered Samantha ВЈ1300 for the oboe. Samantha was obviously very happy with this offer, as it was ВЈ300 over the amount she had offered Penny. She accepted the offer from Gillian and a contract was formed. In any other circumstances, this would be a very simple and straightforward contract, but due to outstanding issues with Penny, shadows were cast over its legitimacy. If

His father was Paul Jung, a country parson, and his mother was Emilie Preiswerk Jung. He was surrounded by a fairly well educated extended family, including quite a few clergymen and some eccentrics as well. The elder Jung started Carl on Latin when he was six years old, beginning a long interest in language and literature especially ancient literature. Besides most modern western European languages, Jung could read several ancient ones, including Sanskrit, the language of the original Hindu holy books. Carl was a rather solitary adolescent, who didn t care much for school, and especially couldn t take competition. He went to boarding school in Basel, Switzerland, where he found himself the object of a lot of jealous harassment. He began to use sickness as an excuse, developing an embarrassing tendency to faint under pressure. Although his first career choice was archeology, he went on to study medicine at the University of Basel. While working under the famous neurologist Krafft Ebing, he settled on psychiatry as his career. After graduating, he took a position at the Burghoeltzli Mental Hospital in Zurich under Eugene Bleuler, an expert on (and the namer of) schizophrenia. In 1903, he married Emma Rauschenbach.
  • 6. The Illusion Of Popular Culture The Illusion of Popular Culture In the early 19th century a man by the name of Phineas Taylor Barnum changed popular culture with his extraordinary talent of promoting and advertising. His first success came with a slave woman known as Joice Heath who he claimed to be the nurse of George Washington. If this was true it would put Joice at 161 years old, thousands of people went to see The greatest natural and national curiosity in the world (Perlman 4/6/16) which turned Joice from an elderly woman to a national spectacle. I believe that the portrayal of women in 19th century popular culture has prevented the detachment of gender roles and has actually created confusion in the eyes of the masses. I will start by comparing the Turkish Dance, Ella Lola which is a short film of a woman dancing made in 1898 with 1850s megastars Madame Clofullia and Jenny Swedish Nightingale Lind, then I will compare the film to the New Women of Barnum and Bailey as well as early 20th century women. In order to fully understand my argument it is necessary to analyze the film by itself. The Turkish dance, Ella Lola is a video of a young woman dancing, she is wearing two skirts, necklaces, a flower headband, and a loose shirt. The dancing contains a lot of swirls, and hand movements as well as pelvic thrusts in both slow and fast tempos, she shakes her upper body making the necklaces and her shirt ricochet off each other. This was filmed in 1898 which was during the progressive

It is twice as common in women as it is in men and increases with age. A recent study revealed that 10% of adults believed they had suffered from constipation during the previous fortnight. Those results may have stemmed from the widespread belief that the bowels should be open daily and that failure to do so will cause any umber of complaints ranging from headaches to depression. If your child is still struggling to pass a hard motion you should then consult your GP, who may pass a well vaselined finger into e rectum. This often has spectacular results. • 8. A Nail The Kingdom For want of a nail the kingdom was lost пїЅC that s how the catechism goes when you boil it down. In the end, you can boil everything down to something similar пїЅC or so Roberta Anderson thought much later on. It s either all an accident ... or all fate. Anderson literally stumbled over her destiny in the small town of Haven, Maine, on June 21st, 1988. That stumble was the root of the matter; all the rest was nothing but history. 2 Anderson was out that afternoon with Peter, an aging beagle who was now blind in one eye. Peter had been given to her by Jim Gardener in 1976. Anderson had left college the year before with her degree only two months away to move onto her uncle s place in Haven. She hadn t realized how lonely she d been until Gard brought the dog. He d been a pup then, and Anderson sometimes found it difficult to believe he was now old пїЅC eighty four in dog s years. It was a way of measuring her own age. 1976 had receded. Yes indeed. When you were twenty five, you could still indulge in the luxury of believing that, in your case, at least, growing up was a clerical error which would eventually be rectified. When you woke up one day and discovered your dog was eighty four and you yourself were thirty seven, that was a view that had to be re examined. Yes indeed. Anderson was looking for a place to cut some wood. She d a cord and a half laid by, but wanted at least another three to take her through the winter. She had cut a lot since those early days when
  • 9. Drag Coefficient Lab Report Purpose and Background: We used an air track and varying amounts of mass to determine the drag coefficient on an object. We used the equation FD=1/2CDpAV^2 to determine the drag coefficient. We also used FD=ma to determine FD, and we used V^2=Vi^2+2a(x xi) to determine velocity. Since the cross sectional area is remaining constant, the drag coefficient should also remain constant. We will measure the acceleration of the object and use that to determine velocity and drag coefficient. We will do this by pushing the object down the air track, then we will choose the data points that show relatively constant acceleration to calculate average velocity for each mass. We will use the concept of drag to determine that drag coefficient should stay the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This shows that within the same mass, the drag coefficient was the same, but when the mass changed, so did the drag coefficient. This contradicts our hypothesis as we stated that the mass would have no effect on the drag coefficient. This is due to the error in our experiment. When we measured the length of the track, we measured the whole length. This is an error because the object sometimes did not travel the entire length of the track as we started recording data after the hand was released from the object, so it was not at the very end of the track. Another error in our experiment was we assumed the average acceleration was the only acceleration when this is not the case. The acceleration was changing as the object traveled down the air track. Another inconsistency was that perhaps the air resistance on the cardboard sail we created was not consistent. We could reduce the errors by doing this experiment with the varying masses in a controlled environment where air resistance and acceleration are constant. If we set up a photogate instead of just assuming the length of the track was the length the object traveled, then we could have known the real distance it traveled. Another way we could have reduced errors is if we did this experiment more than just a measly two times per mass. Perhaps if we had the time and resources to do this 100

Going to another country can be a little bit scary, especially if you are going to a third world country and you don t plan on staying in the safe touristy areas. With this blog, I hope to appeal to others who are going on a mission trip to Nicaragua for the first time. Through my personal narrative, I hope to calm those first time jitters that people are inclined to get before doing something outside of their comfort zone. It can help when you have an idea about what you are getting into, but there are some things that no one can understand until they have been there, and that s okay. Before you go, it is important to keep a few things in mind: 1. Do not go out of the country if you are not willing to conform to the culture! It was clean, safe, with a guard at the entrance, and the breakfast there was very good. My only complaint, however, is that they did not have any hot water, but most places in Nicaragua do not. Ometepe is located in lake Nicaragua and is made up of two volcanoes. It take about an hour to take a ferry from the mainland to the island. The congregation in Ometepe has grown tremendously in the last few years. Interacting with the people there gave me my first real glimpse of the culture there. Everyone greets one another with either a handshake or a hug. Even the kids were not too shy to introduce themselves. They are proud to show us what they have to us and are very generous with what they

While the consumption of alcohol in regulated small amounts is okay, many younger adults and teens lack the necessary self control, and indulge in binge drinking. This type of behaviour can often have a negative effect on their bodies. There are also major concerns regarding road safety, as car accidents involving an alcohol impaired driver are more frequent in those of younger age in comparison to their older counterparts. The current minimum legal drinking ageis too low, as there have been more cases of underage drinking, and abuse of other substances. All of these issues could be avoided if the legal age for consumption of alcohol in Ontario was raised back to the age of 21. Younger adults and teens should abstain from alcohol in order to protect the development of their bodies. A study done by The Royal Australasian College of Physicians states Adolescents and young adults are particularly vulnerable to the harmful effects of alcohol. Alcohol affects the development of the brain, which continues to form and mature throughout adolescence ( Should the drinking age be lowered from 21 to a younger age? ). Alcohol can cause irreversible damage to two parts of the brain; the hippocampus and the

A larger objective lens, or opening, simply allows the scope to gather more light. This makes vision in low light conditions much better. Second, Bushnell applies their Ultra Wide Band Coating to the lenses to cut down light reflection. Both of these features combine to maximize this scope s light gathering ability. Weatherproof As people with glasses know, moisture is the enemy of all optics. Rifle scopes are no exception. Bushnell s Rainguard HD lens coating repels moisture to prevent blurring and fogging, even in the rain. Through my progression in the education system my experience with timed writing gave me practice and made me more comfortable with it. However, there are still areas where my writing needs improving. Being able to write proficiently in a timed environment requires a lot more practice than I have had. Nonetheless the WPJ practice assignment is a means for me to improve the quality of my writing. I will use it to determine my strengths and weaknesses as a writer along with analyzing the challenges I faced during the process of the timed writing. Analyzing my timed writing practice I noticed that I do not deviate from the main topic of my paper. All three body paragraphs have main points that are related to my thesis. Because of this my paragraphs stayed on the topic of the prompt and did not shift into other off topic subjects. Another strength I found was making claims and using evidence to prove my claims true. I advocate a certain point and then I use evidence from the texts provided in our WPJ prompt.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With the constant pressure under time I was forced to write in a quicker pace and think harder about the topic and texts that came with the prompt. However, I found this time constraint to be also very challenging. It shifted my focus away from sentence structure and grammar. Because of this, I made more spelling errors than usual, and my paper didn t have the most sound sentence structure. I also had to plan an entire essay in about 10 minutes which was difficult because normally I have a whole week to plan and write a first draft. Besides the difficulties of timed writing I found the exercise to be fruitful because it showed me my areas of strength

According to Anderson (1990), A commercial surrogate mother is someone who is paid money to bear a child for other people and to terminate her parental rights, to lead to a situation that the others may raise the child as exclusively their own. However, as we grew up we realized that this is not the case. There are millions of people who did not become professional athletes, models, or billionaires, people who never got to have the mansions, cars, and fame that they always longed for, people who never got to travel the world, cure cancer, or fly into space. These are all mostly childlike dreams, which were probably imposed unto us by either our parents or society. There s nothing wrong with children having these sort of improbable dreams, however, there comes a time where we can no longer be children. In the story Tandolfo the Great, written by Richard Bausch, we are introduced to Rodney Wilbury aka Tandolfo the Great, who is a suitable example to demonstrate what life can be like for those who are unable to grow out of their childlike mind sets. This had occurred because of the Zollverein, which proved to be extremely beneficial for their nation since it resulted in larger markets, increased profits, and had overall bettered their economy. It helped them increase their influence in other German states as well as placing Austria at a disadvantage because they had been excluded from receiving any of the benefits that came with the Zollverein. The effects of the Zollverein led to Prussia gaining economic control over German states and spreading the idea of German unification through the newly established transportation systems which was both superior and cheaper in every way allowed others to see how similar they all

Student Name:Omar Merhi Subject Name:Maintain network protection and control systems (complex) Assignment topic:Safe disposal of insulation Material Assignment Number:1 Date: 30/3/11 Number of pages:4 Teacher:Craig Tooke Safe Disposal of Insulation Material There have been various types of Insulating materials used within the electrical power industry since the beginning of electrical power. And over the years scientist and environmentalist have discovered that most if not all insulating materials are harmful to the human body or the environment in one way or another, being shot term or long term exposures. First of all, the term insulating material refers to a substance that has the ability to resist electrical energy flow to make a conductor or copper wire safe to touch by human hands for instance. But all these insulating materials will break down at a certain limit if the power is strong enough, so this tells us that there is no such thing as a perfect insulator. This example explained above is one use for an insulating material within the electrical power industry. Insulators serve many advanced purposes and conditions. Be it Arc suppression within circuit breakers or voltage insulation on power lines, or even protective equipment worn by electrical workers. A majority of these insulating materials have been known to cause health hazards to humans and environmental hazards to the environment which will be discussed in a bit more detail further on, and
  • 41. Buddhism Peter Harvey Sexual Yoga In his Introduction to Buddhism Peter Harvey refers quite openly to sexual yoga, so I will use that term here. Tantric Buddhism reevaluates the body, based on the early Buddhist insight that nirvana is realized through bodily practice. The Guhyasamaja Tantra advocates sexual yoga, including pleasure as the path to Buddhahood (enjoying desires without attachment requires a far more rigorous discipline than simple abstinence). Sexual yoga is mostly practiced in the first Tibetan Buddhist school, the Nyingma, founded by Padmasambhava in the 8th century. Only partners who have years of physical training may practice sexual yoga. The seminal fluid, symbolizing the bodhicitta, is retained and visualized as ascending through an energy channel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The essential reality of the phenomenal is always emptiness. This is the ultimate teaching of interdependent origination. Phenomena themselves do not create suffering, it is craving that reifies sentient energy into illusory objects of attachment (kinetic and static). Therefore, all energy is essentially emptiness. Any phenomenon, therefore, can through realization be transmuted from a factor of ignorance into a factor of enlightenment by the skilled means of quenching desirous attachment towards it. As Ananda himself states in the Pali Canon, desire disappears entirely when it is completely satisfied. Therefore, quenching (nirvana) is also the ultimate satisfaction of desire. In order to realize this in practice one must be very advanced towards the realization of emptiness and thus emancipation, for anyone else would not be able to overcome attachment and thus intensify even more one s bondage to rebirth Therefore, by definition only the very advanced yogi can practice sexual yoga. At the same time, there are also degrees of practice but sexual yoga is certainly not a simple or an easy practice either to undertake or to be successful

Who Is The Antagonist In Quicksand By Nella Larsen The first encounter with Helga Crane, Nella Larsen s protagonist in the novel Quicksand, introduces the heroine unwinding after a day of work in a dimly lit room. She is alone. And while no one else is present in the room, Helga is accompanied by her own thoughts, feelings, and her worrisome perceptions of the world around her. Throughout the novel, it becomes clear that most of Helga s concerns revolve around two issues race and sex. Even though there are many human character antagonists that play a significant role in the novel and in the story of Helga Crane, such as her friends, coworkers, relatives, and ultimately even her own children, her race and her sexuality become Helga s biggest challenges. Helga credits her unease at Naxos to a quality within herself that she cannot understand (Larsen 12). Helga soon confesses her bi racial frustration to the principal, Dr. Anderson, but only after becoming disturbed by her sexual attraction towards him. Helga s first confrontation with Dr. Anderson almost leaves her speechless! Larsen describes Helga s reaction as an inward confusion that felt to her like hysteria (Larsen 18). Larsen again only hints at this attraction, in an indirect manner. A careful analysis of the text, however, will make her point obvious. Larsen illustrates Helga s sexual temptation regarding Dr. Anderson with clever insinuations. As their conversation develops, Helga is overcome by a mystifying yearning that throbbed in her (Larsen 20). Larsen uses words, such as desire and urge in conjunction with Helga s inner thoughts to delicately express Helga s sexual enticement in the wake of Anderson s charm (Larsen 20). It is in this meeting with Anderson that Helga s sexual feelings clash with her bi racial insecurity. The resulting emotions from this inner conflict leave Helga with a sense of lacerated pride that

People would rather be miserable and pretend to be someone else, than risk judged for who they really are. In the novella, Stevenson uses Dr. Jekyll s experiment to show how far people are willing to go to be freed from judgment of society. Dr. Jekyll conducted an experiment that split his personality into two people, the good and evil side of him. Dr. Jekyll knew he was risking his life before he started but he thought it would be worth it to get to be the other side of him for once. I hesitated long before I put this theory to the test of practice. I knew well that I risked death. (57) Dr. Jekyll was willing to risk everything to experience his other side. When Dr. Jekyll drank his chemical solution, he transformed into Mr. Hyde. Mr. Hyde was completely free to be evil without his conscience telling him it was wrong. No one really knew who Mr. Hyde was so he had no reason to fear judgment from others. He was completely free to act as himself. This relates to the real world in that people use drugs and alcohol to transform into their dark side. When using drugs or drinking alcohol, your body loses all control over your consciousness. The substances are more powerful and led people to do things they would normally not even think they are capable of and might regret when experiencing withdrawal of the
