 Oftentimes, incoming 4th year students who
take the College entrance examinations have
little or no idea at all onTrigonometry by the
time the CETs are administered. Review
centers have worked hard in compressing
topics in Math into 1-2 weeks. However,
Trigonometry is only given 1 day.
 Your role as a lecturer is to prepare a lesson
plan/module for a 3.5-hour introduction to
Trigonometry. Your plan should include all
topics necessary for the students to be able
to determine exact values of the
trigonometric functions of special angles.
 The lesson plan should include motivation
(hook students), discussion (lesson proper
with illustrative examples), assessments
(exercises or seatworks to check learning)
and synthesis.
 The plan will be evaluated based on clarity,
completeness and feasibility for a 3.5-hour
session.

Performance task 3.2

  • 1.
  • 2.  Oftentimes, incoming 4th year students who take the College entrance examinations have little or no idea at all onTrigonometry by the time the CETs are administered. Review centers have worked hard in compressing topics in Math into 1-2 weeks. However, Trigonometry is only given 1 day.
  • 3.  Your role as a lecturer is to prepare a lesson plan/module for a 3.5-hour introduction to Trigonometry. Your plan should include all topics necessary for the students to be able to determine exact values of the trigonometric functions of special angles.
  • 4.  The lesson plan should include motivation (hook students), discussion (lesson proper with illustrative examples), assessments (exercises or seatworks to check learning) and synthesis.
  • 5.  The plan will be evaluated based on clarity, completeness and feasibility for a 3.5-hour session.
  • 6. 3 2 1 MASTERY The plan is detailed and exhibited all the topics necessary to learn the basics ofTrigonometry The plan exhibited all the topics but only provided shallow understanding of the concepts involved Some concepts were not covered and topics were discussed in a superficial manner SUFFICIENCY Contains varied and additional exercises aside from the basic exercises needed to master the topic Contains enough parallel exercises for students to master the topic Only a few examples were given in each concept covered FEASIBILITY The plan can be finished in 3.5 hours The plan is too congested and cannot be finished in 3.5 hours The plan is too short. COHERENCE There was a smooth flow in the discussion from one concept to another giving a coherent discussion of the introduction to trigonometry The topics were all covered in enumeration type The discussion of the concepts was not arranged logically.
  • 7.  Must be placed on a short bond paper (preferably typewritten)  No limit as to the number of pages to be used  Answer key should be provided for all exercises  If possible, provide a time frame for each segment to help you gauge whether the plan is feasible.
