Several databases and journal articles have been included in this literature search. Credits for the
access to these databases are for the Medical Library of the National Guard Health Services. This
Paper emphasize its contents about the prevalence of Anorexia Nervosa among females in general
worldwide. So these are the the four terms used in the search: Anorexia Nervosa, prevalence, young
adult females, eating disorders. This brief literature search gives the information summary of these

As far as malnutrition and eating disorders are concerned, Anorexia Nervosa is one of these nutrition
disorders that may affect people with different sex, age, races, nationalities, and economical situations.

Many advertisements focus their advertising on particular body properties that the regular young adult
females may lack. One study shows that average female sees about 400 to 600 advertisements a day.9
While this is an absolutely vast number, the messages that most of these advertisements sending are
telling females that their bodies shape should be strictly thin in order to be attractive or beautiful. This
way of advertising is actually increasing the incidence rate of Anorexia Nervosa and also other eating

Essay Legalize Stem Cell Research
Stem cell research should be legal and funded by the government in all 50 states. There are several
types of stem cells that we have available to use for research. The controversy comes from the use of
Embryonic Stem Cells (ESC) and how they are obtained. The funding is very unstable for stem cell
research due to the use of ESC, combined with the message they send. There have been several
arguments in regards to the right to life. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) clinics have never been funded by
the government and that is not the plan for this research either. Even if the research was funded by the
government, the stem cells would continue to live on. Stem cells are used to find cures for life
threatening diseases. Research of stem cells is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Somatic Stem Cells show they are resourceful and have been in use for a very long period of time,
Somatic Stem Cells can help cure disease. Without continued funding for this, researchers would be
unable to find other cures, like the already in process bone marrow transplants. The rejection rate
theory is very powerful, being able to save lives with low complications; however, if the research is
not funded, we might not be able to stop the person from getting the illness again, considering the
illness is most likely in the genetic makeup of the individual. Three is a need for continued funding for
this research, at least until researchers have exhausted all avenues, finding every possible capability of
these Somatic Stem Cells. The second type of stem cell in use is the Umbilical Cord Blood Stem
Cells. These stem cells come from the umbilical cord of a newborn which generally would get
discarded. Otherwise, these cords are frozen and stored in a private blood bank, in case the stem cells
should ever be needed by the donor or their family ( Umbilical Cord Blood , par. 23). The processes to
save these cells is; something like this, the parents pay a onetime fee and they receive a package for
sending the cord in after delivery, after the initial process the family pays an annual storage fee to

Zheng He Served As Eunuch Essay
Zheng He served as eunuch in the emperor s court from 1381 and by 1390; he stood out as an
accomplished soldier who was exceptional in war and diplomacy. In 1403, a new emperor rose to
power and ordered the construction of a treasure fleet which comprised of fleets of trading ships,
warships and support ships which were to be used for foreign travel and trade and appointed Zheng to
be the leader or commander of the Treasure fleet . Zheng He s voyage took place between the 14th and
the 15th century but Columbus voyage is believed to have taken place in the late 15th century since
the wreckage of Santa Maria, which is believed to be one of Columbus cargo ships dates back to the
15th century .
Zheng He Treasure Expeditions
Zheng He expeditions took seven segments from 1405 to 1433. The first voyage took place between
1405 and 1407 where Zheng He set to sail to Calicut to acquire spices such as cardamom, cinnamom,
ginger, turmeric and pepper. The fleet passed through Champa the present day Southern Vietnam,
Siam, Malacca and Java via Indian Ocean before arriving at Calicut. On the homecoming journey to
China, Zheng stopped at Ceylon. The second voyage took place between 1408 and 1409 and it was to

Bill Gates Accomplishments
People take for granted how far technology has come in the past 40 years. Back then, computers
weren t seen as a consumer product, only as a high end company s tool for completing complicated
equations or automating systems. Bill Gates was the man who headed the shift in software
development that led to a lot of the technology we have today. Most people probably already know
Bill Gates as the richest man in the world but what is more interesting is the story behind his fortune.
Bill Gates is considered one of the most influential people in technology because of his breakthrough
innovations in personal computers and generous philanthropy. Bill Gates started working on software

Gates was approached by IBM with an offer to buy out their company. IBM wanted to buy the source
code, which would have given them the information to the operating system. Gates refused, instead
proposing that IBM pay a licensing fee for copies of the software sold with their computers.
(Biography.com Editors) This was an unheard of strategy at the time and critics thought it was
unlikely Gates would turn a profit with this strategy. Luckily Gates s risk paid off. The microcomputer
industry greatly increased when Microsoft licensed MS DOS to IBM. (Biography.com Editors)
Although IBM helped a lot getting Microsoft started the company eventually grew to overshadow
IBM and left them. Microsoft was getting a cut from every computer IBM sold that was running MS
DOS which gave them the opportunity to move out of their makeshift office and expand the company.
During this time, Apple was also seeing huge success with their Mac OS and Gates, being the savvy
businessman he is, wanted to see where the industry was headed. Gates met with Steve Jobs, the CEO
of Apple Computers, to discuss working on Mac OS with them. At first Jobs adamant to keep the OS a

Social Organization and Laws in the Trobiand Islands
Bronislaw Malinowski argued that law functions in and shapes daily life in every culture. Regardless
of whether it is a civilized society or a savage society, every culture has laws and there are among the
many norms of conduct in savage societies regarded as compulsory obligations of one individual or
group towards another individual or group (Malinowski, 1985, 12). Laws are essential in every culture
regardless of whether savage or civilized (Malinowski, 1985, 13). Malinowski believed that all
societies had laws, rules, and customs that are followed; in addition to hard laws, there are also social
morals and obligations that are followed. It may be culture specific, but it exists in all cultures.
Malinowski argued that there is a number of laws, taboos and obligations in every human culture
which weigh heavily on every citizen, demand great self sacrifice, and are obeyed for moral,
sentimental or matter of fact reasons, but without any spontaneity (Malinowski, 1985, 13 14). While
there are laws written down to be followed, there are also moral laws that should not be broken; within
every society, civilized or not, some do break laws; as a result, there are punishments that come after,
some harsher than others.
Malinowski went to study the culture of the Trobriand Islands in Melanesia from 1915 to 1918. In
order to grasp an understanding of how a culture works, he believed an anthropologist must live in the
society to adequately record how everyday life works and

Analysis Of The Movie The Imitation Game By Alan Turing
What is socially appropriate? How or more so who decides what is appropriate? These questions have
been asked, debated, and fought over since the dawn of civilization. The rhetor of the movie The
Imitation Game integrates these questions into the true story of Alan Turing and the people around
him. The rhetor allows these questions of appropriateness to be narrowed down to two very influential
people in history to give these large, foundational questions a more personal touch, and for the
audience to see the very personal consequence of society s decision. Throughout the film the question
of the appropriateness of differing sexual orientations, gender roles, and social norms are questioned
by allowing the audience to see how these aspects have been judged in the past and the consequences
of society s decisions on a personal level. The first societal decision the rhetor questions is that of the
appropriateness of gender roles. The main female character named Joan Clarke is the focus of the
question of standard gender roles. In the film, Alan Turing fires two people he deemed useless, which
caused vacancies with in the unit. To fulfill these open spots, he places a crossword puzzle in the
newspaper. For those who solve it within ten minutes could report to the local government office.
Upon arriving at the office, Joan Clarke is immediately questioned why she is there. The guard at the
door insists she is in the wrong spot and needs to go upstairs to register to be a

Abigail Adams Sparknotes
Abigail Adams was a wise and educated woman that had one wonderful but challenging life. Like any
other women in the 1700s, she grew up to become someone s wife, bear children and live in the
private life of her husband s house. Abigail has a slightly different story than other women though.
She grew up with her sisters and brother and had a tutor so they became literate, which was not a thing
for women. Educated men didn t want a wife that was smart, they wanted someone to take care of
them and the children and just about nothing else. In the following paragraphs we will talk about who
the author is, a back story of who Abigail is, and the thesis of the book as a whole.
The author of this book, Charles W. Aker, was born in Indianapolis, April 2, 1920 to Ira and Mary Bird
Akers. He was a US Navy vet and served in World War II in 1942 to 1946. After he fought in WWII
he became a history teacher at the Eastern Nazarene College in 1948 then became the Director of
Quincy Junior College in 1959. He then taught at Geneva College in Pennsylvania after which he went
to Oakland University in 1966 and was appointed as chair of the history department in 1968. As well
as being a teacher, he was also a member of many societies like the Colonial Society of Massachusetts

Why Do Gender-Typed Picture Books Exist In Children
The proposed research is designed to systematically examine whether preference for gender typed
picture books exist in children and how gender typed illustrations in picture books may affect children
s performance on recall tasks. Participants will be 40 three to five year old children, half male and half
female. They will go through a choice trial in which they will choose from two picture books that
typed with male and female, respectively. Then they will participate in recall tasks after reading each
book to examine how much of the story they are able to remember. It is predicted that preference for
gender typed picture books will exist in children; and gender typed illustrations will affect children s
performance in recall tasks. The proposed research will provide important information for parents and
teachers regarding which books to choose for their children to read both at home and in the classroom.

The Great Recession Essay
George Santayana, a Spanish poet and philosopher said, Those who do not learn history are doomed to
repeat it. This quote applies to the Great Depression of 1929 and the Great Recession of 2008. There
are many similarities between the two, like the causes, the actual events, and the aftermaths. Several
factors led to the Great Depression, which were the following: overproduction by business and
agriculture, unequal distribution of wealth, Americans buying less, and finally, the stock market crash
of 1929. The Great Recession also had similar factors leading to it, like the housing bubble burst and
less consumer spending. In both events, the Presidents enacted programs that they believed would
help the American people. In the early ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
economy, people began buying stocks on the margin. They would borrow most of the stock s price
from a stockbroker and only pay a little bit of the price. If the stock prices kept rising, this system
would work well, but if the prices fell, people could not pay the loan back. Near the end of the 1929
year, prices were too high, so people wanted to sell their stocks. They thought the prices would lower
soon. Stock prices did go lower and people were not buying. They all wanted to sell their stocks.
Prices went even lower on October 29, where 16 million stocks were sold. This caused the collapse of
the market.
Similarly, the Great Recession was due to consumer spending cutbacks and a drop in demand for the
establishment of new housing. In the two decades previous to 2008, the American growth rate was
very high. Their household needs also became very high, which made demand increase. Spending was
at a high. However personal income was decreased. The consumers then had to borrow money from
the banks. This gave the consumers debt. So, when the house prices rose, banks stopped loaning
money to people and the people decreased their spending. This happened because the people were not
able to pay the banks back. People also cut back on buying or making new houses, so household
demand dropped. Many say that this decrease caused the Great Recession. Housing was one of the
main subjects that many believe, caused the Great Recession. Subprime mortgage availability and low

The Importance Of Electronic Media And Communication
We are to meet the people where they are at. With whatever means are available.
What about our youth. If we aren t able to understands our youths way of communication and not only
get involved with their language we have to educate them of the pitfalls of electronic media and
communications. If the church doesn t find a way to stay in step with our youth we are going to lose
them.
What I propose is to teach them proper ethical and spiruitual principles as it realates to electronic
communication (i.e. texting, email, video conferencing, facebook). We would not be able to
participate in on line educational discussions if we didn t have the electronic means to do so.
This vision demands that leaders in the church wrestle with the complexity of embodying the Gospel
in culture. As the church rediscovers its unique role in culture, and supports the calling of their cultural
influencers, it will be a force for good in our communities, cities and the country.
The call to the church to all Christians is to rediscover the cultural mandate, embracing the
opportunity to influence culture. In the church, we must teach about calling and cultural influence and
provide vital support to cultural leaders. We must become an integral piece of the local culture,
convening and encouraging creation of future culture that serves the common good. We must become
connoisseurs of good culture, recognizing and celebrating the good, the true, and the beautiful to the
glory of God, and begin to

The Influence Of The Traditional Family Dinners
1. How has the traditional family meal changed from the 1950s until now?
Subsequent to watching the videos and comparing the differences between families back in the 1950 s
and now, it is evident that there are many factors which have influenced the change in the traditional
family meal. Firstly, in the 1950 s there was more of a traditional family structure. Therefore, the
majority of families were nuclear, consisting of a mother, father, and children. Nowadays, there has
been major changes to the structure and definition of families. In today s generation, the trend of
marriage is decreasing, and divorce rates are rising, resulting in various different family structures. For
example, the percentage of single parent families has doubled since 1961. Due to this, single parents
are forced to work in order to support their families, consequently leaving less time for family dinners.
, Back in the 1950 s, family dinners were formerly a regular daily occurrence that members of the
family looked forward to. It was a priority and meant to be a positive, stress free experience.
Furthermore, family dinners have become less of a priority due to the increased businesses of people s
lives and the changes in priorities in general. In contrast to back then, the idea of family has become
more of a second thought, rather than taking precedence over than everything else. Nowadays, extra
curricular activities play a major role in many families, therefore, leaving less time in evenings

Compare And Contrast Brave New World And 1984
George Orwell s dystopian classic 1984 was a warning for the whole world to not fully trust your
government. Aldous Huxley wrote Brave New World in 1931, almost two decades before 1984 , and
not too long after the first world war, at the beginning of the Great Depression, and a devastating flu
virus that had claimed millions of lives. Though both stories have been written in a time unlike today,
people should still be frightened of the possibility of becoming true. Unfortunately, it s already too late
to worry about it becoming true because it s the world s reality. Both Brave New World and 1984 are
very close representations of the modern world because of politics, and technological and social
aspects of the modern day world.

Teaching Math to English Language Learners
When it comes to teaching English Language Learners, math is often an under researched topic
because it is thought to be a language of numbers (Janzen, 2008). A misconception that many
educators share is that because math uses symbols it is not associated with language or culture
(Bresser, Melanese Sphar, 2009). Not all English Language Learners are the same, and often times
ELLs enter a new classroom that requires proficiency on both mathematical and linguistic levels.
ELLs come in with different levels of schooling, some come from a situation where they have been
attending school regularly, so the transition is not as hard as it is for the students who really have not

Math uses a specialized vocabulary that can only be learned in school. Words in math can mean one
thing and have a completely different meaning in everyday conversation. It takes English Language
Learners (ELLs) about two years to learn social (everyday) language, but math language takes about
five to seven years to learn. ELL students not only have to translate between English and their native
language, but also between social and academic language (Janzen, 2008; Slavit Ernst Slavit, 2007). In
math, we use language to explain concepts and to carry out the procedures, so it is critical to have an
understanding of the vocabulary in order to comprehend those concepts. If students do not fully grasp
the vocabulary in the problem, then they are at an obvious disadvantage. ELLs may understand the
content of the lesson, but inexperience with the language can hold them back from expressing what
they know. When students are learning to talk math, it is essential to make the lesson comprehensible

INTRODUCTION
There are three types of exchange rates. They are:
1) Fixed rate
2) Managed float
3) Floating rate
FIXED EXCHANGE RATE REGIME
Central bank of any country takes decision on which type of exchange rate to use in their country.
When central bank takes decision that not to change value of their currency with respect to foreign
currency then it is termed as fixed rate. Different variants are available in fixed rate as,
1) Adjustable peg
2) Crawling peg
When capital account of any country becomes negative that means more foreign currency is getting
out of domestic country. This process increase price of domestic currency against foreign currency
which puts pressure on the domestic currency to get depreciates. Since the exchange ... Show more

One of the greatest example when a country moved towards managed exchange rate regime is France
after World War I. France had the stable currency, Franc since 1803 but during the war there was huge
emission of notes due to which the price level shoot up. In 1924, the country was nearing defaults
when the government intervened and took many measures to stabilize the currency. It cut down
expenditures, increased taxes, increased capital inflows. A new ceiling was introduced on money in
circulation which resulted in ceasing of treasury bonds. All of these measures led to accumulation of
foreign reserves and thus the value of Franc increased in the world market and the currency reached to
80% of its pre war

The most mediocre use of language any person can possibly overuse. Jargon is forever changing
because some teenager thinks of a weird way to express himself and it sticks. Take it back to the 1920s

making a person s day. Alternatively, take it back to the 1960s and people are being labeled hippies,
which in a way is slang for peaceful druggies and potheads. Currently, teens say boi when something

become mediocre in everyday life. When a new slang word is created, it is superlative for seconds
because teens are desperate to sound cool and fit in with everyone. It is not long before the word

Character Analysis Of Anne Of The Island
Anne of the Island, by L. M. Montgomery is a story about Anne Shirley going off to college, and
deciding who she was going to marry. The story is primarily set in Kingsport, the town around her
college, and Green Gables, her childhood home, during a time frame when it was very important for
girls to get married. Anne is the main character, but there are several additional key characters in the
story including: Marilla, her mother figure, who adopted Anne when she was eleven years old; Charlie
Sloane, who desperately wanted Anne to notice him; Gilbert Blythe, Anne s old school friend, who
came to college with her to become a doctor; and Royal Gardener, also known as Roy, who became
close friends with her while she was at college. When Anne first arrived at Redmond College, she was
thankful to have her friends at her side, especially Prissy Grant. Prissy thankfully knew her way
around town, and as she and Anne started to look around the city, they made a new friend, Philippa
Gordon. Phillipa couldn t make up her mind on anything, except that she was going to marry someone
wealthy to support her extravagant life style. Philippa had good intentions, and though she was
slightly annoying at times, Anne immediately befriended her. When Anne was home for summer
break, she received her first proposal, from Billy Andrews, whom she didn t even know that well.
Anne declined as politely as possible. It wasn t long before her next proposal came along, this time
from Charlie Sloane. Anne had never liked Charlie Sloane that much, and again she refused as politely
as she could. Soon, Anne received her next proposal, which was from Gilbert Blythe, and that was a
morning she d never forget. Up until that point Anne and Gilbert had been great friends, but Anne didn
t believe she truly loved him. Anne was heartbroken when she found that she must refuse him. She
once again declined as politely as she could, but Gilbert was heartbroken. Anne begged him not
change anything because of her refusal, but Gilbert knew that things could never be the same again
after that, and he told her so. Anne too was heartbroken over losing a good friend, and she was
beginning to wonder if that was all she d lost. Time passed, and Anne was

How Did The Spread Of Separationism
In the year 1517, a monk by the name of Martin Luther revolutionized the entire religious world by
starting the Reformation movement within Europe by just posting his 95 Theses to the Castle Church
doors in Wittenberg, Germany. The spread of the Reformation ideals took time until it eventually
made its way to England in the early 17th century. England, throughout the years, was constantly
changing politically and religiously, with some monarchs leaning towards Protestantism with an iron
fist and other rulers directing the country to an extremist Catholic empire. Even when the Elizabethan
Settlement , which was treaty that ended the religious wars between the Protestants and Catholics
within England, was made there were still outcries within England for greater reforms.
The Puritans and the Separationists were those who called for a pure church within England. The
Queen and even the Church of England would not put up with such communities and forced religious
conformity, thus ending a brief period of religious peace within the country. The Puritans and
Separationists had no other choice but to flee to the New World.
The Separationists called for a separation between church and state. They lived and breathed each and
every single word the Bible and believed that the bible didn t in fact teach religion as a hierarchy. On

for justice professionals and their unethical actions? There is the Police Act for example, which
consists of all police officer s authorities, rights, limitations and the way they can be prosecuted for
their actions. Criminal justice professionals are involved in coercion because of the amount of power
they are given (Pollock, 2015). This is why things like the Police Act were put into motion to help

Forming effective study habits is critical to a student s success, says Mari Lopez, Vice President of
Student Services Operations at University of Phoenix. I would encourage students to have a study plan
set from the time they begin to take courses. How can students best form their own study plans,
especially if they are returning to school for the first time after a long period out in the world of work?
They should have scheduled time set aside to dedicate to their studies, to read their course materials,
and to work on assignments or discussion questions, says Lopez. Students should also attempt to
remove any distractions that may disrupt their study time so that they are making the most out of the
time they have carved aside. If University of Phoenix students are having trouble balancing
coursework and study time with their other responsibilities, the University offers support and
resources to help keep them on track, such as the Life Resource Center. The University of Phoenix

the demands of school, work, and family life, says Lopez. Students can receive support through a

Hobbes And Rousseau On The Social Contract Theory
Hobbes and Rousseau on the Social Contract Theory
The social contract theory focuses on the origin of states and laws, and the impact of regulated
communities or states on individuals. All conceptions of the social contract theory can be harmonized
to the individual desire for safety or security and the demand for fulfillment through a collective
agreement which transforms the human dimension into an organized society from the primordial state.
Rousseau was the first philosopher to coin the social contract terminology despite it being recognized
in some Greek philosophers works. Thomas Hobbes, however, is widely acknowledged as the founder
of the social contract theory within western philosophy (Baird, 2011). As a result, the theories of
Rousseau and Locke can be regarded, to some extent, to be based on the disquisitions of Hobbes.
Conversely, Locke and Rousseau have transformed the concept of Hobbes to align with their
perspectives on society and human nature. Hobbes and Rousseau have significant similarities and
differences in their similarities conceptions regarding the social contract theory.
Hobbes argues that man naturally desires security and order. It is the quest for security and
preservation, as well as the need to avoid pain and misery that made man to get into a contract. Self
preservation and protection are widespread in the nature of man and in an attempt to achieve it, man
voluntarily surrendered all his rights and freedoms to the authority through the

Symbolism In Jesus Camp
In 2006, directors Heidi Erving and Cahal Grady released Jesus Camp . The directors go to Devil s

admits that society ought to indocrinate its children. The word evangelical means fervent or zealous.
Becky Fisher furvently trains the children to develop a one sided perception of the world so they can
take back America for Christ. While all Evangelicals do not behave this way, the directors present a
group of these individuals and what they live for. In Jesus Camp , the directors create a political

does education become indoctrination?
With the presidential election of George Bush in 2005, Evangelicals felt empowered. He was a

Spanish Colonization Essay
Improvements in technology, religious conflict, and expanding trade all affected oceanic crossing and
exploration. Although each country colonized at different times and rates, the reasoning behind
exploration was relatively the same. The French, Spanish and English exploration traveled to the
Americas for either one or all of these reasons: gold, power and God. Once in America, these three
countries all had very diverse ways of colonizing. But, altogether most of the Europeans had a
negative affect on the Natives who already inhabited America. The Spanish had the largest

They were hoping to find a passage to Asia. French claims began in 1534 because of Jacques Cartier,
but like the English they were slow to colonize. European wars, conflict the the Roman Catholic
Church were both large reasons why French colonization did not happen sooner. Eventually, Samuel
Champlain established the first French colonization on the St. Lawrence river in 1608. In 1673 Louis
Jolliet and Father Jacques explored the Mississippi river, and in 1682 Robert de La sale explored the
Mississippi Basin. Unlike the English and Spanish the French viewed Indians as military and
economic allies. They built trading posts throughout the St.Lawrence valley and the coast of the
Mississippi river, where they exchanged French trade with pelts and fur collected by Indians. The
French were not as large as the English and Spanish so they did not pose a large threat to the natives.
Altogether, these three European Countries changed the world forever. Europe s population grew and
there was a shift from feudalism to capitalism. For the Natives and Africans colonization was much
more negative. Diseases killed many Indians, but Horses and Guns brought from Europe transformed
their hunting and warfare. Slave trade was also greatly increased due to the colonization. Today there

Neonatal nurses spend their career working with babies, those that are healthy and those that are not.
Working with newborns is guaranteed to have its challenges, especially for those particular nurses
who choose to work in the neonatal intensive care unit. The neonatal intensive care unit, or NICU, is
where the infants suffering from potentially fatal diseases/disorders are held. NICU nurses struggle
with life and death situations each and everyday, which is sure to be accompanied by specific

The nurses were asked to explain what they felt their obligations were to the newborn and the
newborn s family (p. 579). According to Epstein s research, talking to the parents is one obligation
that begins a long list of many more. Nurses are forced to confront the parents of fatally ill infants and
inform them that their child is going to die. The nurse presents parents with the decision to withdraw
their child from life support and allow them to die peacefully, and sometimes the nurse is even asked
to help the parents make this life changing decision (p. 580). Once a decision is made to withdraw life
support, the nurses then have to assist the parents in timing the withdrawal. Nurses comforted parents
by assuring them that the withdrawal of life support did not need to happen right away (Epstein, 2010,
p. 581).
Just like in every other decision a person makes in life, the consequences of the decision almost
immediately follow. It is rightfully assumed that once a parent makes the decision to allow their infant
to die they would welcome support from anyone who offered. The nurses that participated in Epstein s
study shared the same opinion. Another obligation felt by the NICU nurses was being there for the
parents. Epstein (2010) explained how these nurses felt a strong obligation to stay with the parents as
their child slowly faded away. Some nurses felt the need to

Underdogs In The Book Of Daniel
The young underdogs and their victories in the old testament is an interesting topic to think about in a
theological point of view. These so called underdogs went through many trials just as most of the
characters do in the bible. What makes these characters so different is how they started out. They all
started in a way that would make it hard for them to come out on top, thus hints the name underdogs.
The obstacles they had in their way molded the characters. Each individual character can be seen in
different ways and it is not surprising considering the way the bible presents them. Take for example
Daniels. Daniels qualities are the reasons of his success.
Daniel s experiences and prophecies for the Jewish exiles during his time in the Babylonian capital,
where his service to the king gave him privileged access to the highest levels of society. His loyal
service to the Lord in a land and virtues makes him unique among almost all the people of Scripture.
Daniel is one of the only major figures in the Bible to produce a completely positive record of his
actions.
Daniel was humble and courteous. Courtesy is one the many Daniel qualities. Daniel had indeed won
the respect of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The book of Daniel shows him to be a faithful man of God. Daniel was a man of prayer. As stated in
the book of Daniel, Daniel would pray three time a day to thank God for his love. Daniel s
commitment to God was incredible. Daniel was devoted first and foremost to God and His
commandment on his lifestyle. Daniel unsurmountable faith in God can be seen throughout his
journey. For instance, Daniel showed his faith in God by praying to God even though he knew that
doing so would endanger his life at what time in his journey. Moreover, Daniel s faithfulness to God
even guided him in a lion den, where his enemies were sure he would be devoured. But God sent shut
the lions mouths (Daniel 6:22), and Daniel was miraculously

The Zinc Of Cobalt 60
COBALT 60
INTRO
Cobalt 60 or also known as co 60 is one of the many isotopes of the element, Cobalt. Cobalt has 28
isotopes other than Cobalt 60, these include: Cobalt 47, Cobalt 48, Cobalt 49, Cobalt 50, Cobalt 51,
Cobalt 52, Cobalt 53, Cobalt 54, Cobalt 55, Cobalt 56, Cobalt 58, Cobalt 59, Cobalt 60, Cobalt 61,
Cobalt 62, Cobalt 63, Cobalt 64, Cobalt 65, Cobalt 66, Cobalt 67, Cobalt 68, Cobalt 69, Cobalt 70,
Cobalt 71, Cobalt 72, Cobalt 73, Cobalt 74, Cobalt 75 and Cobalt 76 (Jefferson Lab, n.d.). Co 60 is a
synthetically produced radioisotope with a half life of 5.27 years (Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention [CDC], 2014). It decays through beta particles and gamma radiation (CDC, 2005). Cobalt
60 decays into stable isotope, Nickel 60 through beta minus decay (radioactivity.eu.com, n.d.).
SAFETY ISSUES
Cobalt 60 can be very dangerous to human health. If ingested or inhaled, the majority of co 60 is
excreted in the feces and the rest is absorbed into the blood and tissues, mainly the liver, kidneys and
bones (CDC, 2014; United States Environmental Protection Agency [EPA], 2015). As co 60 is
involved in ionising radiation, all co 60 that is absorbed by liver, kidneys or bone tissue can cause
cancer and because it decays by gamma radiation, this results in an increased risk of cancer in
comparison to other radioisotopes along with skin burns, acute radiation sickness, or death. In
occasional circumstances, medical or industrial radiation sources are lost or stolen

Fredrik s Influence On Conflict
Everyone brings emotions to work, these agents are not exceptional. They have emotions, including
traits, personalities, moods, and these affective experiences and expressions influence others.
Emotional contagion, _____. The way Fredrik behaves, whether during the co listing or the lunch
meeting, affects how Michael thinks and proceeds to his act where he feels the need to pull out on the
listing. This classifies Fredrik under high conflict people as he gets overtly emotional during conflict,
and sometimes uses emotional manipulation to hurt others. As they encounter through this stage, it is
very likely that they experience short lived emotions and long lasting feelings. Discrete, short lived
emotions, such as anxiety and anger as they find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A power usually brings about a reduction of other parties options by limiting the moves they can
make, eliminating a possible resolution to the conflict, or restricting their ability to employ
countervailing power (Folger, Poole, Stutman, 1997). Fredrik and Michael are both overly emotionally
and mentally involved in the situation where it prevents them from having the ability to think
objectively. As they become more aggressive and engaged, they tend to fall under the high conflicting
people category and emphasize on the person instead of the conflicting issue itself. This is when
mediator and third party come into play. Third parties enter a conflict relationship in which the
disputants have different expectations, goals, coasts, and rewards, and where they experience
pressures and stresses stemming from an uncertain situation (Bercovitch; 1984). Instead of helping
Fredrik and Michael resolve their conflict, this mediator helps facilitate and soothe the relationship by
generating discussion for the two of them, in the hope of conciliating the conflict. Fredrik and
Michael, in this case, may hire a lawyer or a mutual friend of theirs. It is the triad for a third party to
cause others to act differently (Bercovitch; 1984). A mutual friend of Fredrik and Michael definitely
does the job in serving as a neutral and unbiased position. According to Thompson and Nadler, they
argue that cognitive biases and different levels of perception people have on a conflict often intervene
with whether or not they can come up with a resolution. Negotiators are often unaware of such biases,
instead blaming blocked resolutions processes on party intransigence or self interest (Deutsch; 2000).
Coming from a neutral and outsider perspective, this mutual friend of theirs is able to find a middle
ground in simplifying the conflict situation as he sees the whole situation

  • 8. Social Organization and Laws in the Trobiand Islands Bronislaw Malinowski argued that law functions in and shapes daily life in every culture. Regardless of whether it is a civilized society or a savage society, every culture has laws and there are among the many norms of conduct in savage societies regarded as compulsory obligations of one individual or group towards another individual or group (Malinowski, 1985, 12). Laws are essential in every culture regardless of whether savage or civilized (Malinowski, 1985, 13). Malinowski believed that all societies had laws, rules, and customs that are followed; in addition to hard laws, there are also social morals and obligations that are followed. It may be culture specific, but it exists in all cultures. Malinowski argued that there is a number of laws, taboos and obligations in every human culture which weigh heavily on every citizen, demand great self sacrifice, and are obeyed for moral, sentimental or matter of fact reasons, but without any spontaneity (Malinowski, 1985, 13 14). While there are laws written down to be followed, there are also moral laws that should not be broken; within every society, civilized or not, some do break laws; as a result, there are punishments that come after, some harsher than others. Malinowski went to study the culture of the Trobriand Islands in Melanesia from 1915 to 1918. • 9. Analysis Of The Movie The Imitation Game By Alan Turing What is socially appropriate? How or more so who decides what is appropriate? These questions have been asked, debated, and fought over since the dawn of civilization. The rhetor of the movie The Imitation Game integrates these questions into the true story of Alan Turing and the people around him. The rhetor allows these questions of appropriateness to be narrowed down to two very influential people in history to give these large, foundational questions a more personal touch, and for the audience to see the very personal consequence of society s decision. Throughout the film the question of the appropriateness of differing sexual orientations, gender roles, and social norms are questioned by allowing the audience to see how these aspects have been judged in the past and the consequences of society s decisions on a personal level. The first societal decision the rhetor questions is that of the appropriateness of gender roles. The main female character named Joan Clarke is the focus of the question of standard gender roles. In the film, Alan Turing fires two people he deemed useless, which caused vacancies with in the unit. To fulfill these open spots, he places a crossword puzzle in the newspaper. Several factors led to the Great Depression, which were the following: overproduction by business and agriculture, unequal distribution of wealth, Americans buying less, and finally, the stock market crash of 1929. If the stock prices kept rising, this system would work well, but if the prices fell, people could not pay the loan back. Near the end of the 1929 year, prices were too high, so people wanted to sell their stocks. They thought the prices would lower soon. Stock prices did go lower and people were not buying. They all wanted to sell their stocks. Prices went even lower on October 29, where 16 million stocks were sold. This caused the collapse of the market. Similarly, the Great Recession was due to consumer spending cutbacks and a drop in demand for the establishment of new housing. In the two decades previous to 2008, the American growth rate was very high. Their household needs also became very high, which made demand increase. Spending was at a high. However personal income was decreased. The consumers then had to borrow money from the banks. This gave the consumers debt. So, when the house prices rose, banks stopped loaning money to people and the people decreased their spending. This happened because the people were not able to pay the banks back. People also cut back on buying or making new houses, so household demand dropped. Many say that this decrease caused the Great Recession. • 17. The Influence Of The Traditional Family Dinners 1. How has the traditional family meal changed from the 1950s until now? Subsequent to watching the videos and comparing the differences between families back in the 1950 s and now, it is evident that there are many factors which have influenced the change in the traditional family meal. Firstly, in the 1950 s there was more of a traditional family structure. Therefore, the majority of families were nuclear, consisting of a mother, father, and children. Nowadays, there has been major changes to the structure and definition of families. In today s generation, the trend of marriage is decreasing, and divorce rates are rising, resulting in various different family structures. For example, the percentage of single parent families has doubled since 1961. Due to this, single parents are forced to work in order to support their families, consequently leaving less time for family dinners. , Back in the 1950 s, family dinners were formerly a regular daily occurrence that members of the family looked forward to. It was a priority and meant to be a positive, stress free experience. Furthermore, family dinners have become less of a priority due to the increased businesses of people s lives and the changes in priorities in general. In contrast to back then, the idea of family has become more of a second thought, rather than taking precedence over than everything else. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Math uses a specialized vocabulary that can only be learned in school. Words in math can mean one thing and have a completely different meaning in everyday conversation. It takes English Language Learners (ELLs) about two years to learn social (everyday) language, but math language takes about five to seven years to learn. ELL students not only have to translate between English and their native language, but also between social and academic language (Janzen, 2008; Slavit Ernst Slavit, 2007). In math, we use language to explain concepts and to carry out the procedures, so it is critical to have an understanding of the vocabulary in order to comprehend those concepts. If students do not fully grasp the vocabulary in the problem, then they are at an obvious disadvantage. ELLs may understand the content of the lesson, but inexperience with the language can hold them back from expressing what they know. The story is primarily set in Kingsport, the town around her college, and Green Gables, her childhood home, during a time frame when it was very important for girls to get married. Anne is the main character, but there are several additional key characters in the story including: Marilla, her mother figure, who adopted Anne when she was eleven years old; Charlie Sloane, who desperately wanted Anne to notice him; Gilbert Blythe, Anne s old school friend, who came to college with her to become a doctor; and Royal Gardener, also known as Roy, who became close friends with her while she was at college. When Anne first arrived at Redmond College, she was thankful to have her friends at her side, especially Prissy Grant. Prissy thankfully knew her way around town, and as she and Anne started to look around the city, they made a new friend, Philippa Gordon. Phillipa couldn t make up her mind on anything, except that she was going to marry someone wealthy to support her extravagant life style. Philippa had good intentions, and though she was slightly annoying at times, Anne immediately befriended her. When Anne was home for summer break, she received her first proposal, from Billy Andrews, whom she didn t even know that well. Anne declined as politely as possible. It wasn t long before her next proposal came along, this time from Charlie Sloane. Anne had never liked Charlie Sloane that much, and again she refused as politely as she could. How Did The Spread Of Separationism In the year 1517, a monk by the name of Martin Luther revolutionized the entire religious world by starting the Reformation movement within Europe by just posting his 95 Theses to the Castle Church doors in Wittenberg, Germany. The spread of the Reformation ideals took time until it eventually made its way to England in the early 17th century. England, throughout the years, was constantly changing politically and religiously, with some monarchs leaning towards Protestantism with an iron fist and other rulers directing the country to an extremist Catholic empire. Even when the Elizabethan Settlement , which was treaty that ended the religious wars between the Protestants and Catholics within England, was made there were still outcries within England for greater reforms. The Puritans and the Separationists were those who called for a pure church within England. The Queen and even the Church of England would not put up with such communities and forced religious conformity, thus ending a brief period of religious peace within the country. The Puritans and Separationists had no other choice but to flee to the New World. The Separationists called for a separation between church and state.
