the Globalisation of Indian Music, many collaborations in the west between Indian and Western
musicians occurred in the fields of classical music, jazz and popular music. Though the twentieth

As a consequence, Stanley drunkenly throws the radio out his window. The event is exacerbated when
Stella attempts to end poker night; Stanley in his drunken rage, strikes Stella (scene 4). Blanche and
Stella decide to sleep over at the neighbor Eunice s house for the night, but Stella soon returns to
Stanley as he goes to her in tearful remorse. This appalls Blanche as she would not believe in going
back to someone who beat her. Stella is a shy character who is easily silenced by Stanley and she
believes it is normal for the husband to beat his wife because he will realize what he has done and
things will go back to normal quickly, thus she was easily was able to go back to Stanley. Some time
later Blanche and Stella hear Eunice and her husband, Steve getting into a fight, and Steve beats his
wife as well. Blanche begins to understand why Stella would believe Stanley s behavior is normal.
(Scene 5). Seeing this exemplifies the character s belief in violence being a norm despite it having
damaging effects in the relationship. Blanche is waiting and preparing to spend time with Stanley s
friend, Mitch that she has grown a fancy to. Moments point before Mitch arrives, A young Paperboy

Examples Of Anger In Seneca
ANGER/SENECA
Anger is a strong emotion that everyone has inside them. It s also a vice because it s one of our bad
sides. Anger mostly makes people lose control of themselves and drives them to act violently. As
Seneca agrees and mentions, we can consider anger as a short madness because even if it s for one
second of rage we feel, we go mad. We can t think properly and due to that we can t act properly.
Seneca says Anger is the desire of revenge, not the power and faculty of it. and Those who think of
injuring us are already considered as they injured us because they did it in conceit. I disagree with this
idea because I believe actions are more important than intentions. For example, someone who thinks
of killing people is innocent

Ed Gein Film Analysis
In 1956, serial killer Ed Gein was arrested in his Wisconsin home. The quiet hermit was found to be in
possession of various items made out of human skin, shrunken heads, even soup bowls that were made
from human skulls. It was determined that he lived alone because of his family s untimely demise, his
father died in the late 40 s and his mother died in the 50 s. After their deaths, Gein went insane and
turned into a human butcher. Even though, he was only guilty of murdering two women, he also
confessed to be a serial grave robber that would dig up and carve up the bodies he exhumed. Gein
even went as far making a human skin costume and would wear it, posing as the opposite sex. Living
in the Wisconsin at the time, author Robert Bloch started writing a novel, about an overweight slob of
a motel owner who would get into drunken stupors and victimize those who occupied his hotel. Bloch

Bravo Company in Black Hearts by Jim Frederick Essay
Black Hearts was about the 2005 2006 deployment of the 101st s second brigade s 1 502nd (First
Strike) to Iraq. The book more specifically honed in on Bravo Company and their first platoon s
decent into complete madness throughout the deployment. The 1 502nd and its commander Lt Col
Kunk, was tasked with the mission of getting control of and hold the land in between the Euphrates
and Tigris rivers. Kunk was a particularly difficult man to get along with. He would explode and go on
a tirade over just about anything, big or small. This caused serious problems at meetings when he only
wanted things his way and would personally attack his commanders who he thought he could not trust.

This cause the men to get a lot less time to relax, taking 8 or more hour guard shifts. The redundant,
mundane task of manning the TCPs would make the soldiers restless, tired and complacent; an
extremely dangerous combination when in a combat zone. The TCPs would cause a lot of problems
throughout the entire deployment. The first catastrophe to hit Bravo Company, and 1st platoon in
particular, was the deaths of SSG Nelson and SGT Casica from 3rd SQD. They were both shot point
blank while trying to talk to a familiar civilian that they had spoken to previously while manning a
TCP. This was the start of the downward spiral that 1st platoon went through during the deployment.
Continuing after this incident, the company was still spread very thin, having too many tasks and not
enough people. Having to go out on a 20 hour mission and then have to go back out right after you get
to the FOB hoping for a bit of relaxing time was a serious moral killer. This didn t not help the fact
that 1st platoon already had been taking out bottled anger and remorse for their lost comrades out on
insurgent and civilian alike. To them they were all the enemy. The next big blow the 1st platoon was
the deaths of 1LT Britt and SPC Lopez. During a routine IED sweep of route sportster, 1LT Britt and
his men were taking contact from mortar fire and one remotely launched RPG from across the canal

Power In Franklin s Tale
Now the past three tales all show the women characters to be either over powered or with little power.
In the Franklin s Tale the woman is neither over powering nor an emotional abused doormat. In fact
this tale had both the men and women to be equal powers. The tale has four main protagonists, the
wife, the knight/husband, the lovesick squire, and the magician. The whole main plot of the story is
that the squire is trying to take away the wife as an illicit lover. However remaining loyal to her
husband she turns him down and makes a joking promise. Taking the promise seriously he goes to the
magician and gives all of his life s savings so he could be her lover. When he goes to the wife saying
he made the promise real she is distraught and tells her husband everything. He tells her to go fulfil
her promise and she goes to the garden. She pleads to the squire to let her go home and eventually he
does in honor. When the magician goes back to see his debt isn t paid, he spares the squire since he

knight are shown throughout the entire tale. Chaucer makes this clear by having the knight respect his

Entitlement For Fast Food
Horgan, 1
Entitlement
We have all been taught that one must work for what is desired. We start learning at a young age if one
does something for someone else, typically a form of pay would be returned. The pay one had earned
would range from candy to money, depending on the type and the amount of work that was completed.
Then, when one is essentially sixteen years of age, he or she would be able to obtain a job in fast food
as a crew member. This new fast food job is glamorous to the sixteen year old; however, it is not seen
as an advanced career opportunity. Nevertheless, Fast food employees believe they are entitled to a
higher wage than state minimum wage. The crew members in fast food are demanding fifteen dollars
an hour. There are many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(McDonald?s) So, a crew member at McDonald?s wants to be entitled to $15 an hour, which is
$31,200 annually full time. As a crew member at McDonald?s, one would need to have customer
service and a smile. Another point stated on the McDonald?s web site is, ?People who wish to enter
our management programms need either a degree, or relevant work experience? (McDonald).
Therefore, they may or may not require any education. In the quote stated above, you may notice
programs spelled ?programms?. This misspelling proves how uneducated fast food employees actually
are, but they want to be paid more than those in a vital position of society that obtain an education.
Fast food employees have some valid points on why they are demanding this higher wage.
International Business Times states, ?Many McDonald?s cooks and cashiers make wages that put
them at or below the poverty line, and many say they cannot support their families at the rates offered
by McDonald?s owned locations and franchisees? stores? (Morris). However, there are options
available to rise above and excel in a better, more achieving career. Working as a crew member in fast
food is not a career, it is an opportunity to make some money when you are finishing high school. Mr.
Schlooser states, fast food employers prefer to hire teenagers and undereducated people (Schlooser).
Fast food is not meant to be

Benefits and Shortcomings of Folksonomies
Social tagging, which originally emerged as means for users to describe, organize and share content,
forming groups known as folksonomies, has challenged the traditional idea of organizing knowledge
within information systems, raising questions whether tags and folksonomies might improve
information retrieval, thus bridging the gap between lay persons and builders (Smith 136 139; Lee and
Schiyer 1747 1748; Rolla 174 175; 182 183). In fact, folksonomies have been proposed an alternative
way to organize and find information, such as Park, who applying the information foraging theory,
proposed that since users naturally collect and evaluate results, folksonomies can help facilitate the
discovery of information through tag browsing, allowing users to find related tags classified by
others(Smith 137; Park 515 518; 521 522). Yet, despite the uniqueness of this model, there could be
shortcomings, because while tags serving as categories for browsing might be a good idea for smaller
folksonomies, it would be difficult for a user to find all relevant items (recall) within a large
folksonomy of thousands items, especially if the tags are broad, not connected by multiple terms, and
the user is looking for specific information (Unit 1). Instead, tags would be more effective as indexing
terms, something that has been explored for viability against library systems, such as in OPACS.
Studies comparing tagging against indexing with OPACS have shown that OPACS run contrast to the

I Ever Heard Of Anne Frank

included Britain, France, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, India, the Soviet Union, China, and the

and wool and spent her nights, in the dark, putting the scarf together for Mr. Frank.
Near the end of the play, Mr. Van Daan gets up in the middle of the night and sneaks out into the
kitchen of the Secret Annex. He got bread out of the cupboard and began to eat it, thinking nobody
would notice. The group in the Secret Annex thought they had rats. So, that night Mrs. Frank got out
of bed and went into the kitchen. There sat Mr. Van Daan, munching away at the little bread they had
left. She began screaming and yelling, and she told Mr. Van Daan to get out. Mr. Frank was
astonished. Mrs. Frank told the Van Daan s that they could stay until the next morning, but she
eventually let them stay and didn t force the family to leave. This supports Anne s quote, In spite of

The Decline Of Civility Within The Workplace
The question was asked, Do manners matter? The Golden Rule states: do to others what you would
want them to do to you. The decline of civility in the workplace has been on the rise. Morals are still
at the conclusion that this isn t at any value of importance (Martin). Society assumes that one is born
with etiquettes and not taught. Judith Martin states that the Original Innocence is the idea that people
are born naturally good but corrupted by civilization (Martin). According to the Merriam Webster
dictionary, the definition of civility is polite, reasonable, and respectful behavior. Incivility is an issue
for many. Researcher Jeannie Trudel of Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion says that Seventy five
percent to eighty percent of people have experienced incivility (Mattice). Employees, bosses, and even
family members are affected by one s reaction to incivility. The lack of discipline and the absences of
manners is slowly creating a problem in today s work society due to need of communication (Martin).
Today s work society has targeted hate for one another. It is typically causing many to regret their
choice of profession; constantly, dreading the idea to perform to the expected. If we are going to
eliminate the cause of rude behavior and the effect of rude behavior in the workplace, each company
should evaluate their policy s, discuss proper expectations, and provide trainings. The cause of uncivil
actions can take a dramatic toll on any workplace.

Self-Awareness And Self Awareness
Are dogs as smart as their owners think they are? Many people would automatically respond yes to
this question, but how does one define smart? Scientists who study animal behavior and cognition
have been debating this question since their field of study began. However, they have come up with a
few key ways to begin to determine intelligence, one being self awareness. Frans De Waal defines self
awareness as, consciousness of the self, which some interpret as requiring an animal to pass the mirror
mark test, whereas others believe that self awareness characterizes all lifeforms. (De Waal 2017).
Scientists believe that being able to recognize one s self as present in the here and now is a sign of
intelligence. Some domesticated dogs have been proven to show qualities of self awareness using
different varieties of mirror tests. Mirror self recognition (MSR) tests have been used to determine the
presence of self awareness since Gordon Gallop developed it in 1970 (Pachniewska 2016). In this test,
an animal is marked with some substance of a different color than their skin, may that be paint or a
sticker etc., and they are introduced to a mirror. If the animal spends more time examining the mark on
them in the mirror by moving to be able to see it or touching it, then it is concluded that the animal
realizes that the reflection is of themselves and pass the mirror test (Pachniewska 2016). This test does
not work for all animals, however; it is made mainly for animals whose

Technology And Self-Driving Technology
In today s age, the use and advancement of technology is rising at an exponential rate. What used to be
thought as impossible can now be seen as tomorrow s norm. However, some are raising concerns that
such technology is advancing too fast, faster than humans as a society can adapt. Because of that, the
theory that automation has more detriments than benefits on society is more prominent than ever. This
of course, is true. Employers are ditching human workers for a number of reasons, including cost
efficiency, work efficiency, and profit margins. However, does automation impart more negatives than
positives on the U.S.? Unfortunately, the short term result of automation is the immediate
displacement of low skill jobs. In David Trilling s study published on the peer reviewed Journalist s
Resource, it is estimated that Over the next 15 years, 2 to 3 million Americans who drive for a living
truckers, bus drivers and cabbies will be replaced by self driving vehicles, according to a December
2016 White House report on the ascent of artificial intelligence (AI) (1). The most recent advancement
of technology is already having effects on today s society. Self driving technology has shown to be
advanced enough to displace those who work as drivers, as they provide a number of benefits,
including: efficiency, work conduct, and cost. A one time cost of the self driving vehicle does not need
to be paid a wage a with human drivers, and the AI does not to take breaks and does not

Describe Mariam s Microsystem Paper
1) Define the Macrosystem according to Urie Bronfenbrenner s ecological systems theory. According
to the Bronfenbrenner theory macrosystem would be defined as the society and subculture in which an
individual belongs. Macrosystem focuses on the individual s belief system, lifestyle, patterns of social
interaction and life changes. (Berns, 2013, p. 22). a. Describe the macrosystem in Montgomery
Alabama in 1955.
In my opinion, the macrosystem in 1955 in Montgomery Alabama would be considered a high context
macrosystem. When looking at how their society functioned, their culture emphasized tradition,
cooperation and group identity. The society at the time operated on a belief system that segregated

considered a part of her microsystem. Odessa is around Miriam and Mary Catherine for long periods
of time during the day and has been working with the family for 9 years, showing that she has

b. Describe Mariam s microsystem.
Mariam s microsystem consists of her family, which includes her husband Norman, her daughters
Mary Catherine and Sarah. Odessa would be considered part of her microsystem as well and I believe
she would fall into the peer category. Mariam is also very active in her community and has many peers
that she socializes with and groups that she participates in, such as Jr. League, and club luncheons.
The media also plays a role in her microsystem through the television and more specifically the news

Double Indemnity And Reservoir Dog Analysis
The two films I analyzed are Double Indemnity (Wilder, 1944) and Reservoir Dogs (Tarantino, 1992)
they follow the film noir tradition, which, according to Blaser (2008) is a style more directors moved
to employing after the world war. Averagely, film noir explores the many aspects of being human such
as the greed, lust, love, truth, and lies. The two films move away from the tradition of the previous
films that insisted on the family as central to humanity with women and men having different roles in
society. While the first movie, as the name suggests, is about an insurance policy and the two leading
characters manipulate others to their benefit, the second is about a group of thieves who ambush one
another. A typical film noir follows and encounters the same traits could lead regarding, as Blaser
terms it in A Short Description of film noir, thematic content (Blaser, 2008). The directors of both
films use lighting and shadows to manipulate the mood of the films and the black and white, low lit
scenes which compliment the dialogues between characters. Wilder s Double Indemnity tells a tale of
murder, love, and betrayal while Reservoir Dogs is about crooks who get caught up in a diamond heist
that fails to run smoothly due to deception. Both films showed the underbellies of society by human
actions led by greed and lust, they often make the perpetrators forget what could happen when things
go wrong hence some of the characters in both films end up facing the consequences for their
involvement.
The directors of both films use lighting and shadows in almost every scene to depict the darkness of
the characters and focus on the mood of the films. The low lit dinner at the beginning of Tarantino s
Reservoir Dogs depicts the underworld in the rest of the film. Furthermore, most of the scenes that
dominate in the film noir are shot in an abandoned warehouse that is lowly lit. Mr. Blonde asks Joe if
he could shoot Mr. White and White suggests that even if Blonde shot him in his dreams, he should
wake up and apologize. The conversation the group holds at the dinner table does not escalate into
violence but is still corrupt and portrays the character s take on violence. The director was trying to
make the viewer see

The Value Of Arts In Education
Introduction: The piece that stood out to me the most is how as a nation, we understand the value of
the arts, but at the same time, we are slowly depleting them from our schools. How can we as
educators see their benefits, but not do anything about it? I think it is important as a future teacher to
understand the number of benefits that the arts offer and the realization that we must work harder in
keeping these skills in our school. Once we implement arts completely in our classroom, the benefits
are endless in helping our students succeed in every area of their lives. This mindset would transform
our students, schools, and teaching methods to create the entire school on a path that puts our students
needs first.
The Big Picture: The important pieces in The Big Picture portion of this article was the realization that
art is a vital piece in education. I think the piece that stood out to me the most was the percentages of
what the public believed that the benefits of arts were in the classroom. As a future educator, it shows
most of my students families will also agree that learning and incorporating art into every subject will
increase the learning environment, process, and retention of my students. If a school majority agrees
that art is an important piece of learning, the entire school, classroom, students, and teaching methods
would reflect that idea. I want my students to feel ownership to their learning and I feel that art gives
them the ownership they need.

The Influence Of The March On Washington
William P. Jones s The March on Washington begins by highlighting A. Philip Randolph, a black labor
unionist and civil rights advocate, who attempted to organize a March on Washington in 1941.
Although Randolph s original march failed to come to fruition, the novel depicts the proceedings as a
prerequisite to the 1963 march. Depicting Randolph as a central figure to the March on Washington
Movement, the novel tells the story of the events leading up to and through the March on Washington
that took place on August 28, 1963. Although the majority of the focus of The March on Washington
revolves around the actions of A. Philip Randolph and his mostly male peripheral contacts before the
march, I argue that the capacity and framework of the foundations of the 1963 March on Washington
were substantially influenced by the actions of prominent black female leaders. The March on
Washington of 1941 s was a response to President Roosevelt s inability to address the problems
associated with discrimination and segregation in the labor sectors of federally funded defense
industries and in every sector of the military (26, 27, and 30). A. Philip Randolph originally predicted
that 10,00 people would attend the march, but as the march approached the numbers increased from
10,00 to 50,00 to 100,00 Negro laborers, domestics, mechanics, professionals would arrive at the
Capital for the march (Jones, 37). Why did Randolph expect such an increase in numbers, and where
did he think these people would come from? It is likely that Randolph s confidence stemmed from the
recognition that his movement was informally backed due to pressure from Jeanetta Welch on Mary
McLeod Bethune, the president of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) by the NCNW
(Jones, 34). As Randolph s most prominent backer, the NCNW consisted of a network of women s
clubs and sororities, like Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA), who sent an avalanche of more than 3000 letters,
telegrams and long distance telephone calls to white house officials, whose entire membership
exceeded 800,000 (Jones, 34). Without the support of NCNW Randolph wouldn t have had the
capacity needed to intimidate the nation s president with the possibility of 100,000 mass marchers.

Fundamentals Of A Common Law Contract
Fundamentals of a Common Law Contract Sandra Rhames Smith BUS670 Instructor: Mark A. Cohen
June 15, 2015 Fundamentals of a Contract The Fundamentals of a Contract is when a legal agreement
is constructed that bonds a party of two or more individuals, corporations, etc., into a binding
agreement. In order for the to be considered legal in the court of law it must contain these elements; an
offer, an acceptance, defined terms, capacity and legal consideration. A Contracts can largely be in
written or verbal form, using either formal or informal terms, and conditions. However, verbal
contract agreement are harder to prove in the court of law and the burden is usually solely on the
injured party. In the legal system there are two types of contracts, a common law contract and a
contract that is governed under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). The employment contract with
the non compete clause between Fabulous Hotel and myself is considered to be under common law
contractual agreement. As described in the textbook Business law for Managers it states that, If the
contract deals with anything other than sales of goods (e.g., real estate, insurance, or personal
services), then it is governed by the common law. When you hire an employee to join your staff, you
enter into a contract that is governed by principles of common law. (Seaquist 2012). In the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of FDMA
Abstract: In this paper, we propose a design for multiple antenna full duplex (FD) eNodeB (eNB) and
user equipment (UE) transceiver, based on recent progress in the area of self interference cancellation
(SIC). For FD communication, .i.e., simultaneous in band uplink and downlink operation, same
subcarriers are allocated to UE in both uplink and downlink. Hence, contrary to traditional LTE, we
propose using single carrier frequency division multiple accesses (SC FDMA) for downlink along
with the conventional method of using it for uplink. Taking advantage of channel reciprocity in the
case of FD communication and multiple antennas at eNB, use of singular value decomposition (SVD)

Description And Reflection Of The Dallas Museum Of Art

Description and Reflection of Dallas Museum The Dallas Museum is a renowned art museum
established in 1903 and is located in Dallas, Texas (Neumann et al. 19). The Dallas Museum of art is
one of the largest art museums in the United States of America containing more than 24,000
collections of art ranging from the ancient to the modern ones (MacDonald Brettell 112). There are
numerous things inside the museum, such as the pieces of art, museum visitors, and the architecture,
that relate to the understanding of the world outside the museum in terms of the day to day life and the
human society. My goal in this essay is to think outside the box and describe the observations I made
inside the museum and explain how they relate to my everyday life, the wider world, or the human
society. The painting work done by C. Bertram Hartman was the first piece of art I observed inside the
Dallas Museum. This painting, completed in 1930, consists of a campanile type tower, most likely a
representation of a historic skyscraper (Walker 73). The painting applies a fractured perspective
blended on an urban look with muted color palettes accompanied by harsh shadows (MacDonald
Brettell 117). The painting is a reflection of the dynamism and energetic expansion of the current New
York City. The geometrical arrangement of the buildings in the painting resemble the current scenes

La Vita Nuova; Dante s Definition of True Love
La Vita Nuova is a collection of poems by Dante about an unconventional love story. Dante expresses
his Love for a woman named Beatrice but his definition of love is not of courtly or romantic love. To
Dante, the meaning of true love in La Vita Nuova is God.
On the surface, the Love Dante feels for Beatrice seems like it could be romantic or courtly love
because they are defined as being an intense feeling of deep connection. However, his love is not
derived from sexual desires, or lust for Beatrice and his Love is not reciprocated. He never portrays ...

This is when we first hear him articulate his desire as being something that is awaken from within him
but he also says it can only happen by the right person, saying; ...while praising my lady I should
make plain how Love is awakened through her, and not only awakened where he is sleeping, for
where he is not in potentiality she, by her miraculous power, caused him to be. (XXI, 1). Dante is
describing his soul to be inactive before Beatrice came into his life and since he first saw her it s as if
his spirit, holy spirt, was revived. This Love takes him on the path through his life and every time he
saw Beatrice he would then have visions of divine nature.
After one of his visions, Dante struggled with conflicting thoughts of Love, that disturbed his peace of
mind, The domination of Love is a good thing because he guides the mind of his faithful followers
away from all unworthiness, [and] The domination of Love is not good because the more faithfully a
follower serves him, the more burdensome and grievous are the moments he must endure. (XIII, 5).
Dante is articulating Love to be a man and a higher power, i.e God. He struggles with his Love for
Beatrice because he is overwhelmed with emotion when she is present; much like someone would feel
in the presence of God. This is why he feels conflicted. He also speaks of Beatrice as

My Most Defining Moment Analysis
It seems to me that our most defining moments happen on the most ordinary of days. What starts out
as yet another day at the office or at school, can hold some of the most radical changes to our lives,
and I think that is part of God s amazing power and beauty. We could be doing something we had done
hundreds of times before, in my case, playing soccer. I took a ball to the upper right side of my face,
around my eye, and the events that ensued helped me to realize God s plans for my future degree path
and thus, the rest of my life. My memories from the moments immediately following the hit contradict
slightly with those from my teammates and parents. While I thought I felt fine and just squatted for a
moment to clear my head before jogging off the field at my coach s call, everyone else says I was very

Guns, Germs and Steel
By Jared Diamond
In the book Guns, Germs and Steel Jared Diamond who is a biophysics scientist and a psychologist,
set out on a journey to find out the reason behind great achievements and conquest of the Europeans.
What is the secret of success of Europeans? His hypothesis was very original and at first looked very
simple, it was guns, germs and steel. The journey of Diamond took over 30 years and helped him
answer the main questions of human history and what is it that separates humans today from rich and
poor and from haves and have not s. To do this he had to go back when everyone was equal.
His quest started off in New Guinea when he was asked by Yali a New Guinean politician a question:

Diamond believes that the main reason why people were able to create such a great civilization in
Middle East is because they had over produced food so people were able to specialize in labor and
produce military, leaders, architects, art and such. But why New Guineans were not able to do the
same?
Middle East had familiarized itself with farming, which in turn made it possible for people to advance
in agriculture which gave them large amounts of food. They were able to spend less time gathering the
food as it was farmed close to their homes. Another important aspect is that planting the wheat and
barley was very simple, all it took was to spread the seed around the field. New Guineans learned
about farming as well but they were not as fortunate as Middle East to have plants that grew from
seeds, instead they had to dig an individual hole for each plant and then plant each plant separate.
Once again they were not as efficient as Middle East. Middle East started to develop large
communities and build cities and had great advantages. They were economically stable and had build
militaries first for self defense and later to be used to conquer and expand. For thousands of years
Middle East was booming but it all came to a stop. They had over used their land and water resources
and followed by a drought they were forced to migrate and find a new place. They migrated towards

An assembly language is a low level programming language for a computer, microcontroller, or other

assembly language is specific to a particular computer architecture, in contrast to most high level

Assembly language is converted into executable machine code by a utility program referred to as an

The popular arcade game NBA Jam (1993) is another example. Assembly language has long been the
primary development language for many popular home computers of the 1980s and 1990s (such as the
Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Commodore Amiga, and Atari ST). This was in large part
because BASIC dialects on these systems offered insufficient execution speed, as well as insufficient
facilities to take full advantage of the available hardware on these systems. Some systems, most
notably the Amiga, even have IDEs with highly advanced debugging and macro facilities, such as the
freeware ASM One assembler, comparable to that of Microsoft Visual Studio facilities (ASM One
predates Microsoft Visual Studio).
The Assembler for the VIC 20 was written by Don French and published by French Silk. At 1,639
bytes in length, its author believes it is the smallest symbolic assembler ever written. The assembler
supported the usual symbolic addressing and the definition of character strings or hex strings. It also
allowed address expressions which could be combined with addition, subtraction, multiplication,
division, logical AND, logical OR, and exponentiation operators.

The Book Summary In John Steinbeck s The Pearl
The book The Pearl takes place in a small fishing village in La Paz, Mexico. The main characters are
from an Indian tribe that live on the beach in brush houses, since Spaniards have kicked them out of
their homes. There is a poor fisherman named Kino, his wife Juana, and their son Coyotito. One day
Coyotito gets stung by a scorpion, but the family cannot support the cost of the treatment, so they go
and try to find a pearl to then sell. When looking in the water, Kino finds a magnificent, shiny, big,
and beautiful pearl. However, when going to sell it Kino does not like the prices the pearl buyers will
buy it for, so he decides he will cross the sea and the mountains to the Capital. I think what drives
Kino through the book is a fear of the amount of money he will earn, being cheated with the value of
the pearl, and Juana and Coyotito s safety from attackers/trackers. To begin, what drives Kino is fear
of not getting the correct amount of money he needs from the pearl to supply all the things he desires.
First of all, this is because Kino explains that the pearl is worth more than what the pearl buyers are
willing to pay for it. The first pearl buyer says, I can give you, say, a thousand pesos. Kino s face grew
dark and dangerous. It is worth fifty thousand, he said (50). He later says he will go to the Capital and
sell it there instead, but I can tell Kino is worried of what is to come, and if he will get the correct
amount of money for the pearl. Following, Kino

Because the scene takes place in Korea, one can conclude that the torturers are of Korean descent and

description of Mark Twain s life, his written literature and what his work has done for the literary
world.
When Mark Twain was born in 1835, he got the name Samuel Langhorne Clemens. Around 1863 he
later legally changed his name to Mark Twain, when he worked as a riverboat pilot. In his childhood,
Mark Twain grew up in Hannibal, along ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mark Twain always came up with quotes from his books, and because of an intense curiosity I started
reading his two classics. These books made me feel a variation of emotions, such as happiness and
acute desire to learn history and many more. He had an abrupt way of telling things as they were, and
a lot of people, including me, were and are drawn to his stories because they do not refine people or
society. His tranquil literary style has given these books a sense of rawness to the emotions his
characters feel in his books, and the fact that Mark Twain is able to transmit these emotions that goes
to the roots of human nature, through only pieces of paper is one of the many reasons why he is an
author that almost everybody knows of. He has not only opened many people s eyes, but also
motivated great authors, such as Ernest Hemingway and William Falkner. Mark Twain is able to create
characters that can see their environment from several perspectives, a great talent to have and it
teaches everybody who reads The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn , and The Adventure of Tom
Sawyer the basic intuition of seeing things from other people s perspective.
To conclude, Mark Twain is still relevant today and he teaches people the importance of empathy, but
also gives an insight to how unjust the society was before. He has written many great things, a lot of
them based on humour, such as The Adventures of

Analysis Of Land Of The Free, Because The Brave
Land of the Free, Because of the Brave
Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave, O er the land of the free and the home of the brave? (
The Star Spangled Banner America s National Anthem ) America is only the land of the free because
of the brave, and some of the most important battles for freedom took place before the United States
of America became the United States. These battles were fought not by soldiers, but by citizens whose

both sexes, as well as minority groups, and freedom of the press are just some of the benefits from
these battles. Rebellion is defined by the Cambridge Dictionary as ... action organized by a group of ...

This is not the only area in which he showed unusual respect for the Natives. In 1635 he was put on
trial in Salem for harboring views which proved too radical for the locals there. One of the radical
views Williams preached was that land should be bought from Natives, as opposed to being taken. In
fact, after his trial, (and subsequent banishment), the land on which he founded Providence, Rhode
Island was land he had purchased from the Narragansett Indians. Roger Williams helped shape
America into the refuge it would become by creating a colony on principles of religious tolerance and
equality regardless of race. While Williams was preparing a sanctuary for outcasts, a battle for
equality was also being fought by future resident of Rhode Island, Anne Hutchinson. Anne Hutchinson
embodied rebellion by promoting equality, which she did by working for the liberation of women,
particularly in the religious field. Although entirely without formal schooling, like virtually every
woman in her day, Anne Hutchinson had been well educated on her father s knee. Francis Marbury, a
Cambridge educated clergyman, school master, and Puritan reformer, was her father. In the late 1570s,
disagreements with Anglican authorities led to his censure, his imprisonment for several years, and his
own public trial on a charge of heresy, the same charge that would be brought against his daughter, of
refuting church

  • 4. Examples Of Anger In Seneca ANGER/SENECA Anger is a strong emotion that everyone has inside them. It s also a vice because it s one of our bad sides. Anger mostly makes people lose control of themselves and drives them to act violently. As Seneca agrees and mentions, we can consider anger as a short madness because even if it s for one second of rage we feel, we go mad. We can t think properly and due to that we can t act properly. Seneca says Anger is the desire of revenge, not the power and faculty of it. and Those who think of injuring us are already considered as they injured us because they did it in conceit. • 12. Benefits and Shortcomings of Folksonomies Social tagging, which originally emerged as means for users to describe, organize and share content, forming groups known as folksonomies, has challenged the traditional idea of organizing knowledge within information systems, raising questions whether tags and folksonomies might improve information retrieval, thus bridging the gap between lay persons and builders (Smith 136 139; Lee and Schiyer 1747 1748; Rolla 174 175; 182 183). In fact, folksonomies have been proposed an alternative way to organize and find information, such as Park, who applying the information foraging theory, proposed that since users naturally collect and evaluate results, folksonomies can help facilitate the discovery of information through tag browsing, allowing users to find related tags classified by others(Smith 137; Park 515 518; 521 522). Yet, despite the uniqueness of this model, there could be shortcomings, because while tags serving as categories for browsing might be a good idea for smaller folksonomies, it would be difficult for a user to find all relevant items (recall) within a large folksonomy of thousands items, especially if the tags are broad, not connected by multiple terms, and the user is looking for specific information (Unit 1). Instead, tags would be more effective as indexing terms, something that has been explored for viability against library systems, such as in OPACS. • 17. Self-Awareness And Self Awareness Are dogs as smart as their owners think they are? Many people would automatically respond yes to this question, but how does one define smart? Scientists who study animal behavior and cognition have been debating this question since their field of study began. However, they have come up with a few key ways to begin to determine intelligence, one being self awareness. Frans De Waal defines self awareness as, consciousness of the self, which some interpret as requiring an animal to pass the mirror mark test, whereas others believe that self awareness characterizes all lifeforms. (De Waal 2017). Scientists believe that being able to recognize one s self as present in the here and now is a sign of intelligence. Some domesticated dogs have been proven to show qualities of self awareness using different varieties of mirror tests. Mirror self recognition (MSR) tests have been used to determine the presence of self awareness since Gordon Gallop developed it in 1970 (Pachniewska 2016). In this test, an animal is marked with some substance of a different color than their skin, may that be paint or a sticker etc., and they are introduced to a mirror. If the animal spends more time examining the mark on them in the mirror by moving to be able to see it or touching it, then it is concluded that the animal realizes that the reflection is of themselves and pass the mirror test (Pachniewska 2016). Because of that, the theory that automation has more detriments than benefits on society is more prominent than ever. This of course, is true. Employers are ditching human workers for a number of reasons, including cost efficiency, work efficiency, and profit margins. However, does automation impart more negatives than positives on the U.S.? Unfortunately, the short term result of automation is the immediate displacement of low skill jobs. • 20. Double Indemnity And Reservoir Dog Analysis The two films I analyzed are Double Indemnity (Wilder, 1944) and Reservoir Dogs (Tarantino, 1992) they follow the film noir tradition, which, according to Blaser (2008) is a style more directors moved to employing after the world war. Averagely, film noir explores the many aspects of being human such as the greed, lust, love, truth, and lies. The two films move away from the tradition of the previous films that insisted on the family as central to humanity with women and men having different roles in society. While the first movie, as the name suggests, is about an insurance policy and the two leading characters manipulate others to their benefit, the second is about a group of thieves who ambush one another. A typical film noir follows and encounters the same traits could lead regarding, as Blaser terms it in A Short Description of film noir, thematic content (Blaser, 2008). The directors of both films use lighting and shadows to manipulate the mood of the films and the black and white, low lit scenes which compliment the dialogues between characters. Wilder s Double Indemnity tells a tale of murder, love, and betrayal while Reservoir Dogs is about crooks who get caught up in a diamond heist that fails to run smoothly due to deception. Both films showed the underbellies of society by human actions led by greed and lust, they often make the perpetrators forget what could happen when things go wrong hence some of the characters in both films end up facing the consequences for their involvement. The directors of both films use lighting and shadows in almost every scene to depict the darkness of the characters and focus on the mood of the films. The low lit dinner at the beginning of Tarantino s Reservoir Dogs depicts the underworld in the rest of the film. Furthermore, most of the scenes that dominate in the film noir are shot in an abandoned warehouse that is lowly lit. Mr. Blonde asks Joe if he could shoot Mr. White and White suggests that even if Blonde shot him in his dreams, he should wake up and apologize. • 24. The Value Of Arts In Education Introduction: The piece that stood out to me the most is how as a nation, we understand the value of the arts, but at the same time, we are slowly depleting them from our schools. How can we as educators see their benefits, but not do anything about it? I think it is important as a future teacher to understand the number of benefits that the arts offer and the realization that we must work harder in keeping these skills in our school. Once we implement arts completely in our classroom, the benefits are endless in helping our students succeed in every area of their lives. This mindset would transform our students, schools, and teaching methods to create the entire school on a path that puts our students needs first. The Big Picture: The important pieces in The Big Picture portion of this article was the realization that art is a vital piece in education. I think the piece that stood out to me the most was the percentages of what the public believed that the benefits of arts were in the classroom. As a future educator, it shows most of my students families will also agree that learning and incorporating art into every subject will increase the learning environment, process, and retention of my students. If a school majority agrees that art is an important piece of learning, the entire school, classroom, students, and teaching methods would reflect that idea. • 28. The Influence Of The March On Washington William P. Jones s The March on Washington begins by highlighting A. Philip Randolph, a black labor unionist and civil rights advocate, who attempted to organize a March on Washington in 1941. Although Randolph s original march failed to come to fruition, the novel depicts the proceedings as a prerequisite to the 1963 march. Depicting Randolph as a central figure to the March on Washington Movement, the novel tells the story of the events leading up to and through the March on Washington that took place on August 28, 1963. Although the majority of the focus of The March on Washington revolves around the actions of A. Philip Randolph and his mostly male peripheral contacts before the march, I argue that the capacity and framework of the foundations of the 1963 March on Washington were substantially influenced by the actions of prominent black female leaders. The March on Washington of 1941 s was a response to President Roosevelt s inability to address the problems associated with discrimination and segregation in the labor sectors of federally funded defense industries and in every sector of the military (26, 27, and 30). A. Philip Randolph originally predicted that 10,00 people would attend the march, but as the march approached the numbers increased from 10,00 to 50,00 to 100,00 Negro laborers, domestics, mechanics, professionals would arrive at the Capital for the march (Jones, 37). Why did Randolph expect such an increase in numbers, and where did he think these people would come from? It is likely that Randolph s confidence stemmed from the recognition that his movement was informally backed due to pressure from Jeanetta Welch on Mary McLeod Bethune, the president of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) by the NCNW (Jones, 34). As Randolph s most prominent backer, the NCNW consisted of a network of women s clubs and sororities, like Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA), who sent an avalanche of more than 3000 letters, telegrams and long distance telephone calls to white house officials, whose entire membership exceeded 800,000 (Jones, 34). Cohen June 15, 2015 Fundamentals of a Contract The Fundamentals of a Contract is when a legal agreement is constructed that bonds a party of two or more individuals, corporations, etc., into a binding agreement. In order for the to be considered legal in the court of law it must contain these elements; an offer, an acceptance, defined terms, capacity and legal consideration. A Contracts can largely be in written or verbal form, using either formal or informal terms, and conditions. However, verbal contract agreement are harder to prove in the court of law and the burden is usually solely on the injured party. In the legal system there are two types of contracts, a common law contract and a contract that is governed under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). The employment contract with the non compete clause between Fabulous Hotel and myself is considered to be under common law contractual agreement. As described in the textbook Business law for Managers it states that, If the contract deals with anything other than sales of goods (e.g., real estate, insurance, or personal services), then it is governed by the common law. Dante expresses his Love for a woman named Beatrice but his definition of love is not of courtly or romantic love. To Dante, the meaning of true love in La Vita Nuova is God. (XXI, 1). Dante is describing his soul to be inactive before Beatrice came into his life and since he first saw her it s as if his spirit, holy spirt, was revived. This Love takes him on the path through his life and every time he saw Beatrice he would then have visions of divine nature. After one of his visions, Dante struggled with conflicting thoughts of Love, that disturbed his peace of mind, The domination of Love is a good thing because he guides the mind of his faithful followers away from all unworthiness, [and] The domination of Love is not good because the more faithfully a follower serves him, the more burdensome and grievous are the moments he must endure. (XIII, 5). Dante is articulating Love to be a man and a higher power, i.e God. He struggles with his Love for Beatrice because he is overwhelmed with emotion when she is present; much like someone would feel in the presence of God. This is why he feels conflicted. Diamond believes that the main reason why people were able to create such a great civilization in Middle East is because they had over produced food so people were able to specialize in labor and produce military, leaders, architects, art and such. But why New Guineans were not able to do the same? Middle East had familiarized itself with farming, which in turn made it possible for people to advance in agriculture which gave them large amounts of food. They were able to spend less time gathering the food as it was farmed close to their homes. Another important aspect is that planting the wheat and barley was very simple, all it took was to spread the seed around the field. New Guineans learned about farming as well but they were not as fortunate as Middle East to have plants that grew from seeds, instead they had to dig an individual hole for each plant and then plant each plant separate. Once again they were not as efficient as Middle East. Middle East started to develop large communities and build cities and had great advantages. They were economically stable and had build militaries first for self defense and later to be used to conquer and expand. For thousands of years Middle East was booming but it all came to a stop. This was in large part because BASIC dialects on these systems offered insufficient execution speed, as well as insufficient facilities to take full advantage of the available hardware on these systems. Some systems, most notably the Amiga, even have IDEs with highly advanced debugging and macro facilities, such as the freeware ASM One assembler, comparable to that of Microsoft Visual Studio facilities (ASM One predates Microsoft Visual Studio). However, when going to sell it Kino does not like the prices the pearl buyers will buy it for, so he decides he will cross the sea and the mountains to the Capital. I think what drives Kino through the book is a fear of the amount of money he will earn, being cheated with the value of the pearl, and Juana and Coyotito s safety from attackers/trackers. To begin, what drives Kino is fear of not getting the correct amount of money he needs from the pearl to supply all the things he desires.
