Biological Anthropology Of Aging Summary
Biological Anthropology of Aging
The article that I chose to examine was the Biological Anthropology of Aging. This article was written
by Gillian H. Ice from the Department of Social Medicine. He studied in Ohio University College of
Osteopathic Medicine. This article was published in 2005 2006 the publisher is Kluwer Academic
Publishers Plenum, Volume 20 Issue 2 from pages 87 90. It is written in The Journal of Cross Cultural
Gerontology. This journal is discussing the fact that aging in our population is increasing dramatically,
and not only developed countries but also in developing nations as well.
The purpose of this article is the study of the health within cultures and how aging has changed
dramatically over the years. The aging process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since elderly populations are now increasing, one fifth of individuals in developed countries are over
60 years old and if this pattern tends to continue it is projected that by 2030 there will be 1/3rd of
individuals older than 60. Many may believe that the most elderly people come from the United
States, but clear research shows that 59% of the world elderly individuals are found in developing
countries. Japan also had a moderate increase in elderly individuals from 7% to 14% in just 26 years,
other Asian countries will see similar increasing patterns as well. Europe has seen some similar life
expectancy increases over the range of 100

Puritan Americans During The English Reformation
The English Reformation Puritans The Puritans was a group of English Protestants from the late 16th
and 17th centuries, who regarded the Reformation of the Church of England during Elizabeth prime as
Queen. The Puritans was a group that had separated from the Roman Catholic Church practices, that
kept them from the act of worship that they wanted to practice. There were three step to Reformation
of the Puritans Theological issue. I. There were a series of steps aimed at discussing ties between the
Papacy and the English church, which led to a large role in Christian history in America. In the way
that people in the New World would worship and do their devotion. II. The descendants of the English
Puritans came to American during the 1630s, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of American religious history there were several groups that came to the New World to make
their mark. The Puritans had a stronger influence on society both positive and negative. A. One of the
positive things taken place was the reform in the church on social, political, ethical, and theological
ideas. This brought about commitment of the gospel from each generations. The work of the Holy
Spirit displayed spiritual wisdom in the pulpits, the way the preacher preached and led the
congregation with his leadership role. This brought about a change in the way things were done, the
start of revival injected new ideas into the Christian faith. Another way was the movement of anti
slavery, this could bring freedom to Black America. Also, the religious freedom was incorporated in
the American society that all people could worship and serve God in their own ethics groups. After the
freedom of slavery, the blacks were able to work for themselves and work for others as free men.
Black preachers started their own churches and met every week for service. There were many changes
made in society in the way we live and worship in today s society. As believers in God we have come
a long way from the start of self worship in American. Learning to disciple others for Christ and to
learn Christian true is what people are looking for in today life. Because of religious movement
history of the nation has change the way we look at the world and the way we live and reach out to

Delegating Application Essay
Delegating is a personality trait that comes in handy when cooperating with others. Consequently, by
holding this trait, it is clear to understand that a few tasks require additional opinions than just one in
order to be executed. In addition, it is also used while problem solving, at times when it is required to
be open minded with everyone s points of views. As I grow up, I aspire to maintain the characteristic
of being a delegator, as well as maintain a balance throughout the responsibilities that I take. On the
other hand, there are a variety of people prefer to not keep their tasks organized, working with these
people can be almost impossible to succeed with, and can lead to calamities. This assignment was
possibly my most difficult to complete, not due to the task itself, but by cause of it being a month long
project that was to be completed by three people, which I ended up doing myself. The day that I was
given this assignment, the class was assigned team members according to our ... Show more content

Nevertheless I found that it would do no good at the moment, so I quickly put it behind me. I had a
project to complete, next time I am put in a group with others, I need to consider that others may not
care about their school work as much as I do. I prefer to keep my balance from school with my work
at home and all the other activities unlike some who do not prioritize their tasks and easily give up. At
about six in the morning, I received a text back from both women explaining to me that they had not
actually dropped the classes but that they had no time to complete their part on times, they were too
tired to do anything. Of course this is where my team members and I also clashed in points of view.
Work is work and there is no excuse to not taking obligations seriously. Not only was this idea
inconsiderate, but as well as put them at risk for failing the assignment, but also the others in the

Similarities Between Petruchio And Taming Of The Shrew
Many writers have adapted Shakespeare s Taming of the Shrew in order to present Shakespeare s story
in a different light or media. David Garrick s adaptation Catharine and Petruchio is one of the most
successful adaptations of Taming of the Shrew because it was performed more than Shakespeare s
original play. Garrick wrote his adaptation in 1754 and made considerable changes to Shakespeare s
version by concentrating on the relationship between Catharine and Petruchio, and shortening the play
to three acts instead of five. In Garrick s version there is no wager as Bianca and Hortensio are already
married, and this is the first adaptation to give Petruchio a whip in Act 2. Shakespeare s play centers
on the wager of whether or not Petruchio will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Garrick presents the same social structure that encourages male dominance and female submission as
Shakespeare s audience, although his adaptation focuses on the benefits each individual has by
performing these roles that society encourages. Garrick s adaptation also highlights the contrasting
images of women that society has created in order to hold more power over them. Garrick s audience
was accustomed to arranged marriages and marrying at a young age in order to advance a family s
social status or secure a daughter s future. Marriage played a vital role in securing a woman s position
in society, which places more emphasis on women behaving virtuously so that they could appear
desirable by men. If a woman was labeled a shrew it mean isolation in society and no stability. This
places more emphasis on Kate to appear as a virtuous woman in society so that she is not considered
an outcast. In conclusion, Garrick s adaptation reveals that Catharine and Petruchio have more to
benefit if they portray what society wants to see and his version heightens the two distinct labels of
women through Kate s final

Political Economy Of America
INTRODUCTION
The political economy of the United States of America is at a crossroads. Mired in legislative gridlock
due to the polarization of political parties, struggling to fully recover from the global recession
brought on by the collapse of the financial industry, and lagging in comparison to some of our peers in
respect to education standards and social welfare policies, many have begun to predict the decline of
America and have declared the model of classical liberal capitalism defunct.
In previous centuries, our loosely structured economic system, based upon the principles derived from
free market capitalism and individual civil liberties, provided the American economy the flexibility to
shift, evolve, and innovate as markets, individual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
government belies its claims of wanting to foster economic growth by maintaining the largest
corporate tax among developed economies. This high corporate tax structure has precipitated the flow
of large corporations to tax havens around the world the effect of which has caused the U.S. to miss
out on valuable tax revenue while small and medium sized domestic businesses must struggle to foot
the bill themselves. The government would like to put the impetus on American corporations to return
their tax headquarters to the United States, but why would they when they can legally obtain a lower
rate elsewhere? There needs to be a compromise between business and government in America that
creates a lower, competitive corporate tax structure while still allowing government to generate
revenue that can be spent on developing effective social welfare

Edward Jenner Research Paper
Edward Jenner was an English physician and scientist that made a monumental endowment for
medicine; the smallpox vaccine. Jenner, the Father of Immunology, was born May 1749 in Berkeley,
Gloucestershire. He received most of his schooling from Wotton under Edge and Cirencester. During
this time, he became infected with smallpox, which had a lifelong effect on his health. Jenner was
apprenticed at the age of 14 for 7 years from which he obtained most of the experience he required to
become a surgeon. Smallpox is provoked by the virus variola. It infiltrates through the lungs and is
transferred in the blood to numerous internal organs. It is then dispersed to the skin, where it causes a
rash. This treatment for the virus had already been

Wallace Stevens Disillusionment Of Ten O Clock
Wallace Stevens falls in the category with America s most respected poets. Stevens wrote many of
poems that got him to that prestigious category. Stevens was born in 1879 in Reading, Pennsylvania
and he took his last breath in August 1955 due to cancer. Harvard University is where he was educated
on literacy and was very successful at his time spent there. One particular poem he wrote is short
poem Disillusionment of Ten O Clock in 1915 and it was published in his first book of poetry at the
age of forty four known as, Harmonium . In the book Harmonium , Stevens published eighty five of
his best poems that a century later are still contributing to modern day poetry. While reading a poem a
reader can have plenty of different thoughts or may interpret the meaning to the poem differently than
others. That being said, it all just depends on your knowledge and the way you view things. Not every
person is the same, so not everyone is going to agree on the meanings of poems and there is nothing
wrong with that. Therefore, the truth about poems is only the writer really knows the meaning and
readers can just guess and make assumptions of what they interpret. After reading Stevens poem,
Disillusionment of Ten O Clock the beginning seems to be describing a typical dull household that is
going to sleep for the night and it puts off a haunted feel because the people are wearing white night
gowns that are bland. The second half of the poem talks about how the people in white

that only men should be educated. She was a successful author of educational textbooks that were
deeply rooted in the Bible. Her educational philosophy was that Christianity was important to public
education.
Booker T. Washington Booker T. Washington was the most significant educator in the African
American community. He also headed the Tuskegee Institution and founded a Bible College to
improve education for pastors. His school incorporated Biblical principles into every aspect of
education (Barton, (2004)).
Daniel Webster Daniel Webster had much influence on the educational system in America. He tried a

The Revolution Of Rio De Janeiro
Introduction In 1565, the Portuguese discovered São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro, and was named after
St. Sebastian, who was the namesake and patron of the Portuguese Monarch D. Sebastião. In the late
1600s, the Bandeirantes, fortune hunters, discovered gold and diamonds nearly Rio de Janeiro.
Therefore, the city became more convenient for the Portuguese exportations. During 1800s, many
Portuguese fled to Rio in order to escape Napoleon s invasion of Portugal. There were hundreds of
noblemen who were simply homeless because of their sudden arrival in the city. Also, during the exile
of numerous Portuguese men into the city, an influx of 145,000 of African slaves arrived in the capital
of Rio. By the year of 1840, the rate of African slavery increased up to 220,000 people. In 1822,
Prince Pedro declared the independence of Brazil, and kept Rio de Janeiro as the country s capital.
Early in the 1900s, the centre of the city was developing; the first tunnel in the capital was built under
the mountains of Botafogo and Copacanaba, and electric streetcars travelled from north to south of the
urban. At the same time, the population of Rio was growing, and the amount of landscapes were
getting limited, therefore the city started to shift from north to south. Between 1960 and 1975, Rio de
Janeiro was removed as the capital of the country for some political reasons, and became one of Rio
de Janeiro s states. Nowadays, Rio de Janeiro is the second most populous city of Brazil, and the

Best Cost Focused Strategy By Thompson Et. Thompson Jr.
The competitors can try to make a distinctive product or release the improved version of the firm s
product. Extensive differentiation can have a reverse effect of losing the current customers.
Differentiation is expected to be a continuous process. The current differentiation can become obsolete
in the short run and the customer becomes more knowledgeable about the product and their needs and
perception changes. 5.3.3 Focused Strategy The third strategy in Porter s model is Focused strategy
which is applicable for the firms that are operating in a narrow competitive scope or Niche Market.
The strategy is applied based on the market segmentation. It can be segmented based on location,
specific income group (usually high income group) or difference in the usage of the product. The
driving force of the focus strategy is specialization in dealing with a particular markets needs and
preferences which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The major objective of Best cost provider strategy is to give the customers value for their money. This
is an attempt to give the customers the products that exceeds their expectations at a price equal or
lesser than the competitors. When a company can build on its core competencies and give enhanced
product at a lesser price, it enjoys maximum profitability. It is hybrid model between low cost
provider and differentiation strategy. This strategy adopts the best of both the strategies .i.e. economies
in cost and at the same time differentiation in the features. This strategy works best in the market
where the characteristics of price sensitivity and diversity in buyer s preference exists. The biggest
limitation of best cost provider strategy is failing in executing the strategy and falling prey for the
limitations of both cost leadership and differentiation

The Cabinet Of Doctor Calligari
Lesson 3 Expressionism is to take a individual view of the world and to distort it radically in order to
invoke a certain mood, feeling, or idea, rather than making an explicit statement. During the First
World War, the imperial government of Germany prohibited all foreign films and encouraged the
production of new film that supported the war effort through propaganda and distraction. Because the
whole idea of expressionist films is to invoke a certain mood in the viewer and not really make any
clear statements, they were the perfect mechanism to distract the German people from the social stress
and economic instability created by the war. There s perhaps no greater example of expressionist film
than The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari by Robert Wiene. Siegfried Kracauer dubbed the film
revolutionary not only because of its expressionist form, but also because of its political message. ...

The entire film avoids all sorts of realism by avoiding any strait or perpendicular lines, as well as
distorting many objects, buildings, and backgrounds to invoke certain moods, such as anxiety and
confusion. The expressionist form of this film represents the movement as a whole because, with
every scene, the film is attempting more to create a feeling in the viewer, rather than simply tell a
message. The expressionist movement is about feeling without being told what to feel, which is
exactly what this film

Causes Of Agricultural Growth In Bangladesh
The Reasons for Decreasing of Agricultural Growth in Bangladesh
Abstract
Bangladesh is an agriculture based developing country in the world. It has many agricultural products
which help to develop economy. Such as, Jute is one of the most important exporting goods which are
agricultural product and Bangladesh earns a lot of foreign currency from this goods as well as this
agricultural sector. From the beginning of this country, Bangladesh was dependent on agriculture
sector for development. This agriculture sector has huge contribution to development of this country.in
previous time, this contribute rate was higher in previous time. But now days, this rate is decreasing
constantly specially from the fiscal year 2005 2006. Though the total amount of agricultural
contribution is increasing but the rate of this contribution is decreasing. There have some types of
causes such as manmade causes, natural causes and technological causes which are helping to reduce
this agricultural growth rate. It is positive sign that the government of Bangladesh take some initiative
like subsidize the farmers and other thighs to boost this rate. Sometimes these steps are working on
special sectors but all over situation are not good enough.
Introduction
Farming is the ancient and the most common profession in Bangladesh. Most of the people of
Bangladesh live in village and most of the villagers (62% manpower in agriculture) are involved in
farming. One of the main reasons of having common

annual salaries for COO, HRIS Manager, and Customer Service Representative are $135,006,
$82,025, and $34,795. The numbers are quite different from the ones at Boston. I consider this
difference due to the geographic reason. The living cost at Boston is much higher than most other
cities in the US, so the salary will be higher. However, we can see there is little difference in the salary
of Customer Service Representative, this is because most of them get hourly payment, and the lowest
hourly payment is much similar in most cities under the state

The Bell Jar Feminism
The Bell Jar: The Strain of Societal Expectations on the Feminine Psyche I saw myself sitting in the
crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn t make up my mind which of the figs I
would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and,
as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped
to the ground at my feet. (Plath 73)
The Bell Jar illustrates the growing feminist itinerary prevalent during Cold War America by
describing Esther Greenwood, and Plath s own descent into madness. Linda Wagner has described The

She goes through many instances in which the most sane of people would not be able to return
unscathed. But we as readers refuse to credit her misfortune because of our own insecurities and the
constraints society has set upon us, even today. Esther Greenwood lives and copes with a mental
illness in this book, and that is not something most people are comfortable with. We try to rationalize
her actions, stating that she is just pressured by those around her, or her feminist views are what cause
her troubles. The reality is a culmination of multiple factors, some of which are unexplainable. Very
much like Salinger s Catcher in the Rye, Esther s story is taken with varying levels of sympathy and
understanding. Many would see her as the typical brooding teenager, one who makes mountains out of
molehills. She is unbelievably privileged, especially for the time in which her story takes place. One
could say that she has it all, even more. But who are we to decide what is big and what is small? Who
are we to decide what classifies one s feelings as worthy of the label of illness or just simply
disagreeable? The Bell Jar is indeed an important bildungsroman, because it opens discussion to harsh
realities of life, ones in which many are unwilling to face. This unwillingness could have meant the
end for Esther Greenwood; her mother being embarrassed of her daughter s condition,

The Invention Of The Airplane
Airplanes are sometimes considered one of the most overlooked inventions. This is often because
people overlook the power of airplanes. It is amazing to think how two brothers created something
used by thousands of people a day. Airplanes are usually the quickest method of transportation for
people traveling long distances. They can also be used to travel across large bodies of water, whereas,
ships would take a much longer time. The invention of the airplane was not easy. Airplanes were also
not safe, originally. Over time, though, airplane travel has become one of the most safest methods for
travel. One of the most greatest twentieth century inventions was none other than the airplane. After
its invention, the growth of people using airplanes and the quality of airplanes grew rapidly. This was
due to the innovations during the two world wars. Airplanes not only help travelers, but they also have
created an industry. Some examples of airplane industries include aircraft construction companies,
engine makers, general equipment makers, and many others ( The Invention of the Airplane and the
Rise of the Airplane Industry for Military and Civilian Purposes ). Men have dreamed of flying for
centuries before the first airplane was even created. Leonardo da Vinci has drawn pictures of airplane
like vehicles even during the late 1400s. During the late 1700s, the first hot air balloon soared over
Paris. This was the first example of some sort of vehicle that flew. During the

Net Neutrality Argument Analysis
You should take a stand against losing Net Neutrality, you should learn for yourself from an unbiased

Despite generating a huge public outcry in 2014/15 and protecting Net Neutrality for the time being, it

Utilities are not things that we agree upon are required for human life, they are necessities needed to
live as a citizen of the United States. Phone calls and electricity are not required to exist as a human,
but they are requirements to effectively live as an American, and are thus utilities. The Internet is also
something that you need to properly live and interact in the United States, to the same level as
electricity and telephone lines are, and should be considered and protected as a utility.
Erasing net neutrality would stifle innovation, and allows large ISPs to piggyback off of the prosperity
that a previously neutral Internet had. If these rules were in place before Alphabet or Facebook or
Netflix or Amazon existed, it is hard to believe those companies would have been able to secure the
funds to get through the paywall to consumers, which demonstrates that these attempts to destroy Net
Neutrality are little more than an excuse to ask successful companies to pay more and disregard the
ramifications to any possible future companies or the history that made certain companies

The Nature Of Villain In The Destructors By Graham Greene
The Destructors, by Graham Greene Samantha Webber 10/13/17 A villain is someone who commits
deplorable actions against others by going out of their way to inflict harm on others. In Destructors by
Graham Greene, the character Trevor T. is presented as an evil person with malicious intent, and is a
villain because he is unsympathetic to others and destroyed someone s home that meant very much to
them. The nature of villainy allows the reader to understand the theme of code of behavior. T. is
unsympathetic toward others. In the climax of the story, he intentionally destroys Thomas s house; one
of the only houses left after the London Blitz built by Christopher Wren. In the process, T. goes to
almost extreme measures to make sure the house is fully decimated; he locks Thomas in his own
bathroom, leaving him there with small rations until morning. T. came from an upperclass family, but
then he came down in the world, implying that something happened within the family that affected
their career. Based on T. s determination to destroy the house, I swear I can fix it, it can be inferred
that T. wants to take out his resent about losing everything on someone else. Also, having a lack of
empathy can be linked with psychopathy, a mental illness that prevents those who have from feeling
sympathy, and are generally contain a charming demeanor, like T., [T.] caught his elbow and

Diamond Foods, Inc.
Executive summary
Diamond Foods, Inc. was founded in 1912 and was publicly traded in 2005 as a distributor of potato
chips, snack nuts, popcorn, shell nuts, and culinary nuts. Its brands include: Kettle Brand Chips,
Emerald snack nuts, Pop Secret popcorn, and Diamond of California nuts (Gujarathi, 2015, p. 47). The
company motto was always bigger is better, which was implemented by former CEO Michael Mendes
(Mendes) to meet high performance expectations and keep up with the competition in the snack
industry (Gujarathi, 2015, p. 50). Around late 2009, questionable behavior of fraud began to occur at
Diamond leaving the company in a great amount of loss. Mendes and CFO Steven Neil (Neil)

After having to restate both its 2010 and 2011 financials in 2012, it was discovered that the company
was operating at a net loss of $86,336,000 and earnings (loss) per share of $3.98. During 2012 the
company s stock price dropped significantly by about 54 percent from $21.50 in early November to
$12.50 in late November (U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, 2012, In re
Diamond Foods Inc., Securities Litigation: Complaint). On November 14th, 2012 Diamond restated
its financial statements which reduced its 2012 first, second, and third quarter earnings. This also
reduced the company s 2011 and 2010 earnings by 57% to $29 million and 46% to $23 million
respectively (Mintz, 2013). Mendes and Neil with the assistance from Deloitte had such a tight
control, making the ability to detect the fraud difficult. This caused the fraud to be concealed, which
led to serious financial implications, and the need to restructure the company s top management.
Description of the fraud
Several types of fraud occurred at Diamond Foods, Inc. that led to manipulation of their reported
earnings and stock price: improper disclosures in the financial statements, understating costs, and
aggressive earnings management.
Improper disclosures in financial statements
There were three major inaccurate disclosures in Diamond s quarterly and annual financial statements
that inflated its earnings and provided false information to investors, the public,

Essay On Figure Board Application
As a child I dreamt of becoming a professional figure skater. My family and I made many sacrifices in
striving to attain this goal. I enrolled in home school and spent many early morning hours on the road
in pursuit of elusive ice time. All through elementary, junior and senior high school I pursued my
dream, but despite my best efforts and the best efforts of my support people, it was not to be. I once
had a favorite coach say to me you don t learn anything through winning but it is through losing that
you learn the most . I learned a lot. In retrospect, the important thing wasn t landing a double axel or
winning a gold medal, but having the ability to set goals, work hard, win with humility and lose with

subjects I never thought I would. I found that I enjoyed furthering my education. I was pulled in every

Deciding a career path was very difficult. As my graduation date neared I decided on pursuing a
degree in biology. Growing up in Alaska I loved the outdoors and I thought a career as a biologist
could be exciting. What I m thankful for now is that biology left the door open for me to pursue a
different path. After graduation I began exploring careers in the health field. This would combine my
love of sciences with my desire to be around and help people. Through volunteering and shadowing
different fields I stumbled into occupational therapy. I enjoyed the cognitive aspect of OT. I felt while
the diagnosis might be the same for a patient, their history and personal goals were different or there
were different ways to get to the same place. I enjoyed the direct one on one time spent with patient.

A comparison of Jurisdictions in the UK and USA
In this report I will be comparing the differences and similarities between legal jurisdictions between
the United Kingdom and the United States of America. I intend to outline some of the key differences
between the two systems.
In terms of the US and UK Supreme Courts they share a hand full of similarities, both handle the
highest appeals court within the jurisdictions on pivotal domestic law. The US Supreme Court has the
final say on federal constitutional law and has jurisdiction over the federal courts and over state courts.
Nevertheless, the Supreme Court doesn t have jurisdiction of matters of state law. Likewise, the UK
Supreme Court has the control over the court of appeal for every civil cases within the United
Kingdom and the criminal cases in England, Wales and Northern Ireland but when it comes to
Scotland and criminal cases the Supreme Court has limited jurisdiction. As well as the United
Kingdom the UK Supreme Court is also has a duty to assist the Court of Justice of the European
Union. One difference is that the US Supreme Court has an advanced domestic profile compared to
the UK Supreme Court. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

SO2, as a pollutant with high reactivity, attracts attention of many scientists due to its property to form
acid rains, as well as due to the fact that it is responsible for formation of sulfoxy radicals which can
cause serious damage to the environment [1,2]. The acid rain issue, whose pH value is under 5,6,
occurs in 40% of the territory in China [3]. European most endangered regions are the Netherlands,
Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic [4]. Apart from the primary pollutants such as SO2, NO2,
CO2, CO and soot particles, one can also find heavy metal particles in the air which result from
various industrial processes (Pb, Cd, As, Ni, Zn and other). A number of investigations indicate the
impact of pollutants on the health of people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Seasons when people are exposed to hazardous effects of pollutants have a considerable effect on
health of people [16]. SO2 from the atmosphere impacts increase of blood pressure during the winter,
while there is no such effect during the summer [17]. However, the impact of pollutants on blood
pressure is not quite clear, which is confirmed by the results of investigation which are contradictory.
Pollutants do not have a big influence on the increase of death cases of people over 65. With growing
old the impact of pollutants increases [18]. The conncetion between pollutants and death of children
younger than 5 is not statisctically important. Investigations show that pollutants do have an impact on
the health of people of all age, not only on elderly people [19]. Weather conditions have a major role
in the interaction between pollutants, thus, there is certain difference in the obtained results of
investigations conducted at different locations [18]. Pollutants that appear in the air can act separately,
however interactions between them can frequently occur and then they have a more negative impact
on environment and the living world [20]. It is hard to specify the diseases which could be caused by
SO2, and which could be caused by fine sulphate particles which exist in our surrounding and are
created by nucleation of SO2. Sulphate particles with the diameter 2,5 and 10μm have a particularly
negative impact [21]. Gas and particles almost

The Effect Of The Concentration Of A Substance On The Rate Of Reaction
Year 9 Chemistry Assignment Term 3
Introduction
The purpose of this experiment was to measure and interpret the effect of a chemical concentration on
a reaction rate. A collision theory is a theory proposed by Max Trautz and William Lewis that states:
qualitatively explains how chemical reactions occur and why reaction rates differ for different
chemical reactions (Wikipedia, 2015). An example of collision theory is when two motor vehicles
collide with one another creating a large impact as the particles combine with one another due to the
large impact created. A chemical reaction is a process that involves the rearrangement of the molecular
and ionic structure of a substance when the interaction of two or more chemicals is compounded to
create a new substance (Middle School Chemistry, 2015). An example of a chemical reaction is when
a bike begins to rust or when photosynthesis takes place (Uen.org, 2015). The different types of
Molars used in the experiment affected the speed of the reactions of the acid. These times varied on
the amount of concentration used in the molars. This was shown in the results of the experiment as the
2Molar gave an average time of 23.88 seconds, for the water to decrease to 30 ml in the test tube. The
1Molar gave an average 54.94 seconds to reach 30 ml of water in the test tube, and the 0.5Molar
displayed an average time of 3 minutes 13 seconds to reach 30 mL.

Argumentative Essay On Six Flags

you ever heard of six flags, it is a water park that has all type of slides, roller coasters and more? Well
six flags are one of the field trips that I would want to go to. Many teachers argue that the field trips
are not educational, but I argue that six flags has many educational things. Ranging from classroom
sessions and swimming in water with dolphins to learning about and actually sleeping with the sharks,
these programs are designed to allow individualized or group learning opportunities. Also it is a great
place to have fun with your friends and family. There is also a very cool slide that they made this year.
It is called the King Cobra, how does that sound. To begin, six flags is very educational because
students will be put to the test with hands on learning to master the math and science of our coasters.
Following the assemblies, students are able to participate in four special park activities and prizes.

Transcendentalism In Young Goodman Brown
In Young Goodman Brown , Hawthorne demonstrates common inter turmoil, especially in regard to
spiritual state. In an attempt to discover himself and satisfy his innermost being, Young Goodman
Brown becomes a shattered, shell of a man. The question at hand is not religion, nor is it purely
spiritual, Hawthorne simply encourages his reader to search themselves with the understanding and
realization that once searched, the readers may not like what they find. Hawthorne himself seems to
struggle with this reality as he straddled his Puritan upbringing and transcendentalist revelations, as
expressed through Young Goodman Brown s realization of the hypocrisy of the Puritan with whom he
resides. Hawthorne shows the potential horror of man to his readers as hidden evil inside of man. As
Hawthorne develops his story, the reader is challenged by the nature of man, and what the reader
wants the nature of man to be, which Hawthorne understands to be sinful. The traveling companion,
the third character introduced to the reader, is a symbol of the inner demon residing within Young
Goodman Brown. The companion was waiting for Young Goodman Brown, and apparently in the
same rank of life as Goodman Brown, and bearing a considerable resemblance to him, though perhaps
more in expression than features (2). The readers see that the traveling companion is a reflection of
Goodman Brown because he looks like Goodman Brown, but the air of the former reflects a
tantalizing knowledge to

Artler s Journey
Once upon a time, there was a carbon atom named Artler. This carbon atom started his journey as hard
wood in a pinyon tree. He stayed here for millions and millions of years. Eventually, Artler was buried

adventure in the lithosphere of fossil fuels. Artler is now living his life happily as a piece of coal in the

Similarities Between Marionettes Inc. And Dark They Were...
Ray Bradbury is an exceptionally great writer, who has written countless stories including The
Martian Chronicles and Fahrenheit 451 . Bradbury was born in Waukegan, Illinois in 1920 and at age
14 moved to Los Angeles. In 1937 he joined a SciFi league and had his first book published at the age
of 18. He often writes about nostalgia for childhood, social criticism, and the hazards of runaway
technology. These are ideas the Bradbury believes in and feels strongly about. This is shown in two of
his short stories, Marionettes, Inc. and Dark They Were and Golden Eyed . These stories characterize

A International Company s Workers Human Rights Through...
Introduction Globalization is defined as the act of globalizing, or extending to other or all parts of the
world. In other words, globalization is that the world has experienced two great waves of gobalization
driven by the free trade policies of major trading countries and falling transportation costs.
The first wave was from roughly the down of the Industrial Revolution in the 19 Century to World
War I, and the second has run since 1947. International trade and international migration grew
substantially during the first wave, but world trade increased even more rapidly during the first 25
years of the World War II wave. Both periods of gobalization faced significant suspicion about the
results of globalization for labor conditions. (Globalization and Labor Conditions, Robert J. Flanagan,
2006)
Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to compare the international company s workers human rights
through the influence of the international trade.
Over the past decade, China has been an attractive destination for global corporations due to its low
wage rates and labor laws that disallow independent trade unions and limit the right to strike.
Recently, Chinese industrial workers have been pushing back, demanding better wages, hours and
working conditions. Collective action by Chinese workers, including strikes, has been successful in
many cases and is bringing Chinese employers to the bargaining table As a result, China s industrial

Over the years, many banks in the US started the practice of offering home loans to high risk
individuals, i.e., individuals who had a high probability of defaulting on their loans. The banks
justified this move by saying that even if these individuals defaulted on their loans, the amount could
be recovered by selling off the property in question.
Over a period of time, many of these individuals defaulted on their payments, as was expected, and
the banks put the properties back on the market. However, when so many properties were put on sale
at the same time, the property prices, which were already over inflated to begin with, plummeted. The
unprecedented drop in property rates proved fatal for banks that had already invested most of their
money in these speculative deals, and they were forced to close down.
The collapse of these banks is just one of the indicative causes of the present recession. The roots of
this recession can be said to lie in over inflated property prices, oil prices, and commodity prices.
Artificially inflated prices are typical of a profitable market. When the market is doing well, the sellers
eventually become greedy and raise the prices. All is well, as long as the buyers continue to be able to
afford the inflated prices. However, the day the prices reach a level where the majority of the buyers
cannot afford them, a crash in the prices, and consequently a recession, is inevitable.

Crime And The Crimes Of Crime Essay
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (2006) crime is defined as an offence punishable by
the State on behalf of the general public whose standards do not permit the offending behaviour.
Whilst countless studies have been conducted over the years surrounding crime and the committing of
crimes by individuals , there has also long been debate surrounding whether or not crime is gendered
and if so, to what extent. Over the decades a number of studies have been conducted in order to
answer this question, with significantly varying results uncovered. Whilst some studies, including
those by Darrell Steffensmeier and Emilie Allan (1996) and Jennifer Schwartz and Darrell
Steffensmeier (2008) have found that gender plays a significant role in the committing of crimes, other
studies including that of Kenneth Polk (1993) have found that the prevalence of gender differences in
crimes is reliant on the nature of the crime itself.
According to Frances Heidensohn (1985), gender appears to be the single most crucial variable
associated with criminality (p.22). In agreement with this statement, Steffensmeier and Allan (1996)
highlighted in Gender and Crime: Toward a gendered Theory of Female Offending , that worldwide
criminologists agree that the gender gap within offenders of crime is universal, in that men are always
more likely to commit a criminal act than women. However, Steffensmeier and Allan (1996) s
research also highlighted discrepancies between the opinions of

The Puritans had a stronger influence on society both positive and negative. A. Also, the religious freedom was incorporated in the American society that all people could worship and serve God in their own ethics groups. • 4. Delegating Application Essay Delegating is a personality trait that comes in handy when cooperating with others. Consequently, by holding this trait, it is clear to understand that a few tasks require additional opinions than just one in order to be executed. In addition, it is also used while problem solving, at times when it is required to be open minded with everyone s points of views. As I grow up, I aspire to maintain the characteristic of being a delegator, as well as maintain a balance throughout the responsibilities that I take. On the other hand, there are a variety of people prefer to not keep their tasks organized, working with these people can be almost impossible to succeed with, and can lead to calamities. This assignment was possibly my most difficult to complete, not due to the task itself, but by cause of it being a month long project that was to be completed by three people, which I ended up doing myself. The day that I was given this assignment, the class was assigned team members according to our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nevertheless I found that it would do no good at the moment, so I quickly put it behind me. I had a project to complete, next time I am put in a group with others, I need to consider that others may not care about their school work as much as I do. I prefer to keep my balance from school with my work at home and all the other activities unlike some who do not prioritize their tasks and easily give up. At about six in the morning, I received a text back from both women explaining to me that they had not actually dropped the classes but that they had no time to complete their part on times, they were too tired to do anything. Of course this is where my team members and I also clashed in points of view. Work is work and there is no excuse to not taking obligations seriously. • 5. Similarities Between Petruchio And Taming Of The Shrew Many writers have adapted Shakespeare s Taming of the Shrew in order to present Shakespeare s story in a different light or media. David Garrick s adaptation Catharine and Petruchio is one of the most successful adaptations of Taming of the Shrew because it was performed more than Shakespeare s original play. Garrick wrote his adaptation in 1754 and made considerable changes to Shakespeare s version by concentrating on the relationship between Catharine and Petruchio, and shortening the play to three acts instead of five. In Garrick s version there is no wager as Bianca and Hortensio are already married, and this is the first adaptation to give Petruchio a whip in Act 2. Shakespeare s play centers on the wager of whether or not Petruchio will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Garrick presents the same social structure that encourages male dominance and female submission as Shakespeare s audience, although his adaptation focuses on the benefits each individual has by performing these roles that society encourages. Garrick s adaptation also highlights the contrasting images of women that society has created in order to hold more power over them. Garrick s audience was accustomed to arranged marriages and marrying at a young age in order to advance a family s social status or secure a daughter s future. Marriage played a vital role in securing a woman s position in society, which places more emphasis on women behaving virtuously so that they could appear desirable by men. If a woman was labeled a shrew it mean isolation in society and no stability. This places more emphasis on Kate to appear as a virtuous woman in society so that she is not considered an outcast. In conclusion, Garrick s adaptation reveals that Catharine and Petruchio have more to benefit if they portray what society wants to see and his version heightens the two distinct labels of women through Kate s final ... Mired in legislative gridlock due to the polarization of political parties, struggling to fully recover from the global recession brought on by the collapse of the financial industry, and lagging in comparison to some of our peers in respect to education standards and social welfare policies, many have begun to predict the decline of America and have declared the model of classical liberal capitalism defunct. In previous centuries, our loosely structured economic system, based upon the principles derived from free market capitalism and individual civil liberties, provided the American economy the flexibility to shift, evolve, and innovate as markets, individual ... This high corporate tax structure has precipitated the flow of large corporations to tax havens around the world the effect of which has caused the U.S. to miss out on valuable tax revenue while small and medium sized domestic businesses must struggle to foot the bill themselves. The government would like to put the impetus on American corporations to return their tax headquarters to the United States, but why would they when they can legally obtain a lower rate elsewhere? • 8. Wallace Stevens Disillusionment Of Ten O Clock Wallace Stevens falls in the category with America s most respected poets. Stevens wrote many of poems that got him to that prestigious category. Stevens was born in 1879 in Reading, Pennsylvania and he took his last breath in August 1955 due to cancer. Harvard University is where he was educated on literacy and was very successful at his time spent there. One particular poem he wrote is short poem Disillusionment of Ten O Clock in 1915 and it was published in his first book of poetry at the age of forty four known as, Harmonium . In the book Harmonium , Stevens published eighty five of his best poems that a century later are still contributing to modern day poetry. While reading a poem a reader can have plenty of different thoughts or may interpret the meaning to the poem differently than others. That being said, it all just depends on your knowledge and the way you view things. Not every person is the same, so not everyone is going to agree on the meanings of poems and there is nothing wrong with that. Therefore, the truth about poems is only the writer really knows the meaning and readers can just guess and make assumptions of what they interpret. After reading Stevens poem, Disillusionment of Ten O Clock the beginning seems to be describing a typical dull household that is going to sleep for the night and it puts off a haunted feel because the people are wearing white night gowns that are bland. The Revolution Of Rio De Janeiro Introduction In 1565, the Portuguese discovered São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro, and was named after St. Sebastian, who was the namesake and patron of the Portuguese Monarch D. Sebastião. In the late 1600s, the Bandeirantes, fortune hunters, discovered gold and diamonds nearly Rio de Janeiro. Therefore, the city became more convenient for the Portuguese exportations. During 1800s, many Portuguese fled to Rio in order to escape Napoleon s invasion of Portugal. There were hundreds of noblemen who were simply homeless because of their sudden arrival in the city. Also, during the exile of numerous Portuguese men into the city, an influx of 145,000 of African slaves arrived in the capital of Rio. By the year of 1840, the rate of African slavery increased up to 220,000 people. In 1822, Prince Pedro declared the independence of Brazil, and kept Rio de Janeiro as the country s capital. Early in the 1900s, the centre of the city was developing; the first tunnel in the capital was built under the mountains of Botafogo and Copacanaba, and electric streetcars travelled from north to south of the urban. At the same time, the population of Rio was growing, and the amount of landscapes were getting limited, therefore the city started to shift from north to south. Extensive differentiation can have a reverse effect of losing the current customers. Differentiation is expected to be a continuous process. The Cabinet Of Doctor Calligari Lesson 3 Expressionism is to take a individual view of the world and to distort it radically in order to invoke a certain mood, feeling, or idea, rather than making an explicit statement. During the First World War, the imperial government of Germany prohibited all foreign films and encouraged the production of new film that supported the war effort through propaganda and distraction. Because the whole idea of expressionist films is to invoke a certain mood in the viewer and not really make any clear statements, they were the perfect mechanism to distract the German people from the social stress and economic instability created by the war. It is amazing to think how two brothers created something used by thousands of people a day. Airplanes are usually the quickest method of transportation for people traveling long distances. They can also be used to travel across large bodies of water, whereas, ships would take a much longer time. The invention of the airplane was not easy. Airplanes were also not safe, originally. The conncetion between pollutants and death of children younger than 5 is not statisctically important. Investigations show that pollutants do have an impact on the health of people of all age, not only on elderly people [19]. Weather conditions have a major role in the interaction between pollutants, thus, there is certain difference in the obtained results of investigations conducted at different locations [18]. Pollutants that appear in the air can act separately, however interactions between them can frequently occur and then they have a more negative impact on environment and the living world [20]. It is hard to specify the diseases which could be caused by SO2, and which could be caused by fine sulphate particles which exist in our surrounding and are created by nucleation of SO2. Sulphate particles with the diameter 2,5 and 10μm have a particularly negative impact [21]. Gas and particles almost ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. The Effect Of Concentration Of A Substance On The Rate Of... The Effect Of The Concentration Of A Substance On The Rate Of Reaction Year 9 Chemistry Assignment Term 3 Introduction The purpose of this experiment was to measure and interpret the effect of a chemical concentration on a reaction rate. A collision theory is a theory proposed by Max Trautz and William Lewis that states: qualitatively explains how chemical reactions occur and why reaction rates differ for different chemical reactions (Wikipedia, 2015). An example of collision theory is when two motor vehicles collide with one another creating a large impact as the particles combine with one another due to the large impact created. A chemical reaction is a process that involves the rearrangement of the molecular and ionic structure of a substance when the interaction of two or more chemicals is compounded to create a new substance (Middle School Chemistry, 2015). An example of a chemical reaction is when a bike begins to rust or when photosynthesis takes place (Uen.org, 2015). The different types of Molars used in the experiment affected the speed of the reactions of the acid. These times varied on the amount of concentration used in the molars. This was shown in the results of the experiment as the 2Molar gave an average time of 23.88 seconds, for the water to decrease to 30 ml in the test tube. The 1Molar gave an average 54.94 seconds to reach 30 ml of water in the test tube, and the 0.5Molar displayed an average time of 3 minutes 13 seconds to reach 30 mL. A chemical ... • 30. Argumentative Essay On Six Flags Would you ever like to go to a special, amazing, extraordinary field trip? If so then what was it. Have you ever heard of six flags, it is a water park that has all type of slides, roller coasters and more? Well six flags are one of the field trips that I would want to go to. Many teachers argue that the field trips are not educational, but I argue that six flags has many educational things. Ranging from classroom sessions and swimming in water with dolphins to learning about and actually sleeping with the sharks, these programs are designed to allow individualized or group learning opportunities. Also it is a great place to have fun with your friends and family. There is also a very cool slide that they made this year. It is called the King Cobra, how does that sound. To begin, six flags is very educational because students will be put to the test with hands on learning to master the math and science of our coasters. Following the assemblies, students are able to participate in four special park activities and prizes. Plus, you ll have full access to all rides and attractions and a complete curriculum, featuring data collection and workbook problems. • 31. Transcendentalism In Young Goodman Brown In Young Goodman Brown , Hawthorne demonstrates common inter turmoil, especially in regard to spiritual state. In an attempt to discover himself and satisfy his innermost being, Young Goodman Brown becomes a shattered, shell of a man. The question at hand is not religion, nor is it purely spiritual, Hawthorne simply encourages his reader to search themselves with the understanding and realization that once searched, the readers may not like what they find. Hawthorne himself seems to struggle with this reality as he straddled his Puritan upbringing and transcendentalist revelations, as expressed through Young Goodman Brown s realization of the hypocrisy of the Puritan with whom he resides. Hawthorne shows the potential horror of man to his readers as hidden evil inside of man. As Hawthorne develops his story, the reader is challenged by the nature of man, and what the reader wants the nature of man to be, which Hawthorne understands to be sinful. The traveling companion, the third character introduced to the reader, is a symbol of the inner demon residing within Young Goodman Brown. The companion was waiting for Young Goodman Brown, and apparently in the same rank of life as Goodman Brown, and bearing a considerable resemblance to him, though perhaps more in expression than features (2). The readers see that the traveling companion is a reflection of Goodman Brown because he looks like Goodman Brown, but the air of the former reflects a tantalizing knowledge to ... • 32. Artler s Journey Once upon a time, there was a carbon atom named Artler. This carbon atom started his journey as hard wood in a pinyon tree. He stayed here for millions and millions of years. Eventually, Artler was buried in a landslide. This eventually turned him into an atom of carbon in coal. He now carries on with his adventure in the lithosphere of fossil fuels. Artler is now living his life happily as a piece of coal in the lithosphere. He has been here for millions of years once again, just like with the pinyon tree. As a piece of coal, Artler was burned in a stove to warm a nice happy family. Now, Artler is becoming carbon in the form of CO2. Finally, he will lie in the atmosphere all by himself. However this time, Artler dissolved into Lake Powell. Here, he remains a nice little happy carbon atom in the lake. Artler is now in the hydrosphere. Here in the hydrosphere, Artler is carbon in groundwater. He remains here for hundreds of years. Sadly, Artler precipitates out of the groundwater. Next, he becomes travertine in the ground. Artler is nearing the end of his journey, as he now enters the lithosphere of limestone. Artler is not just any limestone, for he is Kaibab Limestone. He remains here for millions of years. However, sadly, he is mined in order to make cement. During this process, CO2 is released into the atmosphere. Once more, Artler is sent up into the atmosphere. Artler is in the atmosphere for one last final time. He remains here for about 62 years as CO2. He is finally absorbed by a plant once more. Here, he becomes part of the plant through photosynthesis. • 33. Similarities Between Marionettes Inc. And Dark They Were... Ray Bradbury is an exceptionally great writer, who has written countless stories including The Martian Chronicles and Fahrenheit 451 . Bradbury was born in Waukegan, Illinois in 1920 and at age 14 moved to Los Angeles. In 1937 he joined a SciFi league and had his first book published at the age of 18. He often writes about nostalgia for childhood, social criticism, and the hazards of runaway technology. These are ideas the Bradbury believes in and feels strongly about. This is shown in two of his short stories, Marionettes, Inc. and Dark They Were and Golden Eyed . These stories characterize protagonists in similar ways and antagonists in different ways, differently structures the plot and uses setting differently. The characterization ... Also, Bittering is resistant to the idea change as he starts to think things are changing he builds a rocket to return to a nuclear devastated planet. This is also an example of indirect characterization where Bradbury uses actions to describe characters. What these characters show is that to describe Bradbury s preferred way to describe protagonists is through indirect characterization. Bradbury describes his antagonists is differently. • 34. A International Company s Workers Human Rights Through... Introduction Globalization is defined as the act of globalizing, or extending to other or all parts of the world. In other words, globalization is that the world has experienced two great waves of gobalization driven by the free trade policies of major trading countries and falling transportation costs. The first wave was from roughly the down of the Industrial Revolution in the 19 Century to World War I, and the second has run since 1947. International trade and international migration grew substantially during the first wave, but world trade increased even more rapidly during the first 25 years of the World War II wave. Both periods of gobalization faced significant suspicion about the results of globalization for labor conditions. (Globalization and Labor Conditions, Robert J. Flanagan, 2006) Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to compare the international company s workers human rights through the influence of the international trade. Over the past decade, China has been an attractive destination for global corporations due to its low wage rates and labor laws that disallow independent trade unions and limit the right to strike. Recently, Chinese industrial workers have been pushing back, demanding better wages, hours and working conditions. Collective action by Chinese workers, including strikes, has been successful in many cases and is bringing Chinese employers to the bargaining table As a result, China s industrial ... Jafar Sadique, MBA, Southeast University Bangladesh 1. Introduction: International business is taking different shades and is unavoidable today. This dynamic world is rapidly changing to the extent that is has been reduced to a Global village . The truth is, we are going through the most severe global financial crisis since the days of Great Depression. Originated in USA, economic recession is affecting all the major players of world economy. Over the years, many banks in the US started the practice of offering home loans to high risk individuals, i.e., individuals who had a high probability of defaulting on their loans. The banks justified this move by saying that even if these individuals defaulted on their loans, the amount could be recovered by selling off the property in question. Over a period of time, many of these individuals defaulted on their payments, as was expected, and the banks put the properties back on the market. However, when so many properties were put on sale at the same time, the property prices, which were already over inflated to begin with, plummeted. The unprecedented drop in property rates proved fatal for banks that had already invested most of their money in these speculative deals, and they were forced to close down. The collapse of these banks is just one of the indicative causes of the present recession. The roots of this recession can be said to lie in over inflated property prices, oil prices, and commodity prices. Artificially inflated prices are typical of a profitable market. When the market is doing well, the sellers eventually become greedy and raise the prices. All is well, as long as the buyers continue to be able to afford the inflated prices. However, the day the prices reach a level where the majority of the buyers cannot afford them, a crash in the prices, and consequently a recession, is inevitable. 3. • 37. Crime And The Crimes Of Crime Essay According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (2006) crime is defined as an offence punishable by the State on behalf of the general public whose standards do not permit the offending behaviour. Whilst countless studies have been conducted over the years surrounding crime and the committing of crimes by individuals , there has also long been debate surrounding whether or not crime is gendered and if so, to what extent. Over the decades a number of studies have been conducted in order to answer this question, with significantly varying results uncovered. Whilst some studies, including those by Darrell Steffensmeier and Emilie Allan (1996) and Jennifer Schwartz and Darrell Steffensmeier (2008) have found that gender plays a significant role in the committing of crimes, other studies including that of Kenneth Polk (1993) have found that the prevalence of gender differences in crimes is reliant on the nature of the crime itself. According to Frances Heidensohn (1985), gender appears to be the single most crucial variable associated with criminality (p.22). In agreement with this statement, Steffensmeier and Allan (1996) highlighted in Gender and Crime: Toward a gendered Theory of Female Offending , that worldwide criminologists agree that the gender gap within offenders of crime is universal, in that men are always more likely to commit a criminal act than women. However, Steffensmeier and Allan (1996) s research also highlighted discrepancies between the opinions of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
