This document is a rubric for grading paragraph writing. It provides criteria in 5 areas: main topic idea sentence, supporting detail sentences, elaborating detail sentences, legibility, and mechanics/grammar. Points are awarded on a scale from 1 to 4 for each criteria based on how fully or clearly the paragraph meets the standards in that area. The total points are summed at the end to determine the overall grade for the paragraph.
