This document provides information about a practical session on building ontology-based web services. The session is part of a larger tutorial on ontology engineering and lexical semantics. Students will work in groups of three to model a governmental service and its processes. They will build web services for each sub-process and publish the WSDL of the services using terms that are defined in the Palestinian government ontology (Zinnar). Students can reuse services built by other groups. The goal is to implement an interoperable governmental service using standardized ontology terms.

Description:
Implement a governmental service, taking into consideration that all
terminology used in the WSDL of the web services must commit to the
Palestinian government ontology (Zinnar).

6. Practical Session (Ontology-based web
services)
• Every three students must form a group.
• Students may select (or model from scratch) a governmental
service, its ASIS and TOBE.
• Build a web service for each sub process, and publish the WSDL of
these web services at Zinnar.
• All terminology used in the web service, including entities, must
commit to Zinnar Ontology.
• Students may reuse web services provided by other students.
• Students may use any programming environment, although
WebLogic is recommended.
• Students may create their example databases.
