This document provides information about a practical session on building a national student registry system in Palestine. The session aims to integrate student profile services from different universities. Students will select three existing services and draw integration plans to combine them into a single system. They will implement the integrated system using the provided ministry ontology. The final output is an integrated system that brings together student data from three universities. Each group will present their project for feedback.

5. Practical Session (National Student Registry)
Description:
Based on the previous tutorials practical session: “The central management of
students’ profiles by the ministry of education is becoming an urgent need in the last years.
Many students in Palestine move from one university to another, and they need to transfer
their academic records. Also, the ministry of higher education needs to certify the diplomas
and mark sheets of students. Moreover, there is a need to centrally manage/monitor students
financial aids. Therefore, the ministry of higher education has decided to build a national
student registry, such that, each semester every university has to send the academic record
of every student to the ministry of education. The ministry will then update and integrate the
academic records according to the data combined from all universities into the national
student registry.”
The ministry wants to build a system that integrate between different
universities to provide students profiles information through their own
system. Instructor may specify implementation tool based on trainee
background (C# ).

6. Practical Session (National Student Registry)
• Each student should work alone or group 2.
• Students must select at least three services fro different student, that been
built in previous labs.
• Students must discuses and draw on paper different plan to integrate these
services into on system.
• Instructor must provide students with ministry common ontology for the target
system.
• Each group must implement an integrated system that covers most of handled
topics in theoretical lecture.
• Final output a system that integrate three different universities.
• Each group must present their project and discusses their design decisions
and collect feedback from other groups.
