The Globalization Of Baudrillard Implosion
Introduction
There have been notable advancements in technology and media which shaped our twenty first
century. The global spread of technology creates extensive connections on a large scale which have
helped in making new opportunities.Social media is a landmark of the modern technological
advancement. It helped in spreading knowledge, culture, personal experiences, different views
between people from different countries.Social Media has been used in all aspects of life such as the
economy, health, politics and social sciences. Advocating for human rights, appeal to help people in
need, sharing knowledge are good examples of the wise use of technology and social media. On the
other side, human trafficking, terrorism, money laundering and pornography are some examples when
some people abuse social media. With the heated political tension, social media have dominated in
many occasions. This assignment discusses Baudrillard postmodern philosophy and his theories
regarding globalization and this era which controlled by technology. Also, it goes through hacking and
how Baudrillard implosion reflects it.
Who is Jean Baudrillard?
Jean Baudrillard (1929 2007) was a French philosopher. He completed his degree in sociology in
University of Paris X at Nanterre. Also, he taught there between (1966 68) in the sociology
department. Then, he moved later to the University of Paris IX, until his retirement in 1987. ( Jean

Benefits of Technology Incorporation into a Classroom Setting
Today, our society is more technologically advanced than it has ever been, and our schools have
become more technologically progressive over the past few years, but does having technology in the
classroom help or hinder the students from learning? A quote by John Dewey from his book
Democracy and Education stated If we teach today s students as we taught yesterday s, we rob them of
tomorrow. Integrating technology into classrooms is not only essential in preparing the students for the
future, but it is also an effective teaching method. Many surveys and studies have been done about
using technology to teach students. Even as early as 6 years old to college level and the outcomes have
varied, depending on the way it was introduced and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, give a brief description of technological manner in a classroom, allow usage during non
test days for note taking and the penalty of a reduced participation if the technology proves distracting
to the student or his/her peers (Jackson). Another way to ensure that the students are not misusing the
technology is for the teachers to teach the students how to get the most out of it. Most devices can be
connected to the internet and there are almost an infinite number of things that you can do, see, and
use while on there, but if the students spend their time doing assignments, projects and learning new
skills the likelihood of them misusing it will decrease significantly.
Applications on hand held devices such as tablets and iPads have made learning more fun for students.
An app was created for students 8 years or younger, where they can learn early reading skills such as
basic sight words, and they can practice writing and grammar skills while creating their own
interactive stories (Pilgrim, Bledsoe and Reily). Mathematics apps focus on beginning concepts of
math number sense and include diagnostic games to determine the instructional level of each student.
The apps are also available for more advanced concepts. Science apps can do things like turn an iPad
into a telescope where students can explore the stars and planets to

Funding Tender Of Cash Value Benefits
Several years ago, Texas WIC formed operational and technical workgroups to discuss the feasibility
of adding split tender of Cash Value Benefits (CVB) as optional functionality for Smartcard WIC to
enable WIC clients to use the full amount of CVB prescribed to them. The technical workgroup
recommended another feature, benefit reversal, be added for situations where WIC clients didn t have
the additional funds available to purchase items that would be split tendered with WIC benefits in the
transaction. This functionality was already available in online WIC but FNS requirements restricted
the process of adding benefits to the WIC card during the development and acceptance of Smartcard
WIC design. In fact, there were no point of sale ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Around the same time, the Smartcard states released updated specifications and test scripts. The
X9.131 standard was adopted by the X9 committee in early 2015 and published through ANSI.
As the WIC stakeholders were doing the work necessary to prepare developers for the split tender
mandate, the credit card industry was also mandating changes in the retail world. Retailers would have
to implement all changes necessary to handle chip and PIN EMV cards prior to October 1, 2015 or
assume the liability for all fraudulent transactions where the mag stripe was swiped on an EMV
capable card. As developers scrambled to meet this deadline (of which many failed), the
implementation dates continued to slip which also delayed development efforts for the WIC benefit
reversal development. As of April 2016, many retailers can still not accept an EMV chip card.
Texas WIC was notified by Kroger on April 15, 2016 that the software delivery for split tender and
benefit reversal would be delayed until early 2017. There is concern because they will not meet the
extended deadline mandated by USDA FNS and will not be compliant with the terms of the WIC
Vendor Agreement in the Smartcard WIC states that they do business.
Texas and the other Smartcard states must now determine a course of action on how to respond to
Kroger (and others that may have similar issues but have not notified us yet). One option would be to

Summary Of Slavery Without Submission
With reference to chapter 8 and 9 of Zinn s book: Slavery without Submission , Emancipation without
freedom in A People s History of the United States, It was clearly established that that the Civil War
was not really fought over the moral issue of slavery, but rather the economic issue of slavery. To
reveal these American intentions behind the abolition of slavery, Zinn focuses on the Civil War which
usually thought of as the paramount event in U.S. emancipation. After reviewing a few slave revolts
and their defeats, he turns to focus on Abraham Lincoln and his ability to skillfully blend the interests
of the very rich and the interests of the black at a moment in history when these interests met.

The World Is Flat !, By Thomas L. Friedman
When using Chanel s cosmetics, when drinking Danone yogurt with breakfast, when driving Ford
motor the way home, global brands which are highly visible symbol of the increasing integration of
world market, could been discovered around everywhere. As Thomas L. Friedman (2005) states,
World is flat! , which means world is being shrunk by the spreading of globalisation.
Globalisation, a result of social development, can be described as the increase in cross broader trade
and influence on the economic and social behaviour of nation states (David Begg, 2003:272). This
process has affected the world widely and deeply, principally in economics, industrial, technological,
political and cultural aspects.
Over the past decade, as the liberalization of national and openness of global markets, globalisation
has benefitted the world significantly, such as income improved, increase of imports and exports,
industrial development, thus, free flow of trade, capital and information have produced the best
outcome for growth and human welfare. Therefore, it is little doubt that globalisation has positive
impact on developed and developing countries. When it comes to China, ever since it formally joined
WTO, great benefits has been gained from the international trade while a huge boost to the
collaboration with other countries.
The issue of globalisation in China, including demonstrating why globalisation is beneficial for China,
the status quo situation of globalisation in China, and the

The Views of Rupert Brooke and Wilfred Owen on War Essay
The Views of Rupert Brooke and Wil
My selected poems are The Soldier by Rupert Brooke and Dulce et
Decorum est by Wilfred Owen. Both war poems but conveying their different feelings and presenting
their views of war in radically different ways.
The poets have polarized views of war with Rupert Brooke writing his poem in a romanticized and
patriotic way referring to the possibility of death as a noble cause, for England the land that gave him
life.
This is at odds to how Wilfred Owen views the reality and horror of war. The poets choice of title
Dulce et Decorum est which translated means It is lovely and honourable to die for your country
which in its self is irony, misleads you to think that the poem is going to ... Show more content on

The rest of the stanza continues to describe the men and the things they saw and sounds they heard:
Drunk with fatigue, deaf even to the hoots
Of Gas shells dropping softly behind
The use of the word Drunk is trying to emphasise that the soldier s were acting oblivious to the
happenings around them as if they weren t conscious and even deaf to the sounds of bombs.
In the second stanza the poet portrays an ecstasy of fumbling meaning he creates a huge panic of all
the men trying to apply their gas masks in time and illustrates the image of one soldier who didn t get
his mask on in time.
Gas! Gas! Quick boys An ecstasy of fumbling,
Fitting the clumsy helmets
This is the only quote of one of the men saying something and adds to the image of the rush they were
in. The adjective clumsy is used trying to describe how awkward the helmets were to put on, and how
much of a hassle they were to put on.
One of the men in this poem didn t get his mask on in time and was left by the rest in pain, screaming
and becoming weak:
But someone was still yelling out and stumbling
The word someone is used there because Owen is trying to show the man as being just another soldier.
He was nothing special in that he died for his country but no one remembers him as a hero, just one of
the thousands of men who died.
Owen then says how the someone was yelling out for help, for a soldier to come and rescue him and
help him

chicken pox. The nurse author will discuss the causes, symptoms, and mode of transmission,
complications, and treatment, as well as mortality, morbidity, incidence, and prevalence of the disease.
The determinants of health will be described, and the factors that add to the progression of the disease.

Re exposure to the Varicella zoster virus via close contact with individuals with the disease has been
proposed to boost specific immunity, therefore reducing the risk of contracting chicken pox. In
contrast, however, this may have lead to a higher incidence of shingles in older adults. The shingles
immunization is now recommended for people sixty years and older to offset contracting the shingles
virus. (Chavez, Santibanez, Gargiullo, Guris, 2007) Chickenpox is seasonal infectious disease, and
usually has an uptick of incidence in the late winter and early spring. For the most part, chicken pox is
a childhood disease, accounting for greater than 90% of incidences occurring in kids less than ten
years of age. It is typically nonthreatening in a healthy child, with a morbidity in immune
compromised patients and adults.
The agent factor is the presence of the virus, Varicella zoster, in the epidemiologic triangle. The host
factor would include mostly children less than fifteen years of age, but anyone who has not had
chickenpox would be vulnerable to contract the disease. In most cases, a person usually only has one
occurrence of chickenpox in their lifetime. After having chickenpox, however, the virus lies dormant
in nerve tissue the brain and spinal cord, and may come back as shingles

The, The Director And Narrator Of The Film, By Jamie Johnson
In the documentary The One Percent the director and narrator of the film, Jamie Johnson, gives
viewers a thought provoking look inside some of the wealthiest families in America. Johnson comes
from old money. He is the great grandson of one of the brothers that founded Johnson and Johnson
Pharmaceuticals and his father inherited a fortune of one billion dollars. In the documentary, Jamie
Johnson takes on the character of a filmmaker seemingly disinterested by his and his family s overly
abundant wealth. Johnson s initial purpose for making this documentary was to expose the corruption
and power of the top one percent. He wants to expose how the rich keep getting richer by showing
how his family handles their finances. He claims Having so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This sign foreshadows and symbolizes the exclusive nature of the upper class that Johnson describes
later in the film. He begins to make conversation with a woman who has a British accent. A study
done by Howard Giles with the department of Psychology at the University of Bristol, states Their
[Wallace Lambert and colleagues] work has shown that stereotyped impressions of an individual s
personality may be formulated by listeners when presented with a speaker s voice whose vocal
contours are representative of phonological patterns peculiar to specific group membership. (Giles)
Plainly, when people hear an accent, subconsciously they connect it with their previous experiences
involving people with that accent. Because the British are often known for their history of wealth,
power, monarchies, and luxurious culture, the average viewer of the documentary will subconsciously
and inherently connect the women s British accent to wealth and authority. At this point in the film,
upon hearing her voice the viewer will have a broad understanding of what the documentary is about
before even being presented the formal narration of Johnson s thesis. The spying concept, the
luxurious environment, and the audio of refined music and voice all come together as elements that
make this scene extensively persuasive.
Shortly after the introduction, Johnson presents a wave of facts and statistics by using simple graphic
animations. These facts and

The Impact Of Volunteering
INTRODUCTION ATTENTION STATEMENT: Volunteering behaviour has been a powerful driving
force in the betterment of humanity, a key contributor to the solving of mankind s problems (de Abreu,
2015). as stated in a scholarly article, Managing Volunteerism Behaviour. Volunteering has been
proven to be one of the most important things in our lives.
PERSONAL/AUDIENCE LINK: When our eldest deaf child was born 7 years ago, volunteering has
been our thing ever since, especially for the Deaf community. What a difference it has made for us and
the community. It helps create warmth and excitement to all of us.

MAIN POINT #1: Definition
Volunteering is time willingly given for the common good and without financial gain.
(www.volunteeringaustralia.org, n.d.) .
Volunteering should not be used as profit, or be used to replace paid employees.
Activism can be considered volunteering. This definition is aligned to the current UN position on
volunteering... (www.volunteeringaustralia.org, n.d.) as stated in their website.
MAIN POINT #2: Benefits
We as volunteers will be assisting in finding ways for the organization to fulfill its mission. We all get
to learn new things everyday from volunteering.
Here are some examples of volunteering work I have done in the past.
I was a co chair for Rocky Mountain Deaf School building committee. Couple of volunteers and I
participated in a peaceful activism involving a property for the new school building. There was a
protest from the neighbors opposing the deaf school on the property. If our activism didn t happen, we
wouldn t build our school building on our current property

Benefits Of Learning Outside The Classroom
There is no doubt that learning outside the classroom should be compulsory for all schools. Many of
my own memories from Primary School are those in which I spent outside of the classroom making
daisy chains and learning about birds at a local park. Nowadays, children are losing the opportunity to
explore their natural world and have fun outside as advances in technology have caused them to play
games on their tablets or iPads and the increase of cars means that it is safer for them to play inside.
Many children do not go outside at all, apart from when they are at school, therefore it is extremely
important that they are given as many opportunities as possible during the school day to have
enjoyable experiences outside of the classroom.
Grigg and Lewis (2016, p. 19) define learning outside the classroom as children learning about people,
their heritage and the natural environment, largely through play and first hand experiences, in a wide
range of contexts beyond the classroom. Learning outside the classroom enables teachers to bring the
curricula alive by integrating the school grounds and the local landscape into their teaching (Beames
et al., 2012). It is important that children are given more opportunities to explore the natural world as
there is no doubt that there are many benefits to outdoor learning. Furthermore, according to the
Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto:
Every young person should experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of learning
and personal development, whatever their age, ability or circumstances.
(Department of Education and Skills, 2006, p.2)
The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (2017) believes that outdoor learning is a powerful
tool that is proven to raise achievement, improve social, emotional and personal development and
contributes to the health and well being of children and young people. There is no doubt that children
will learn better if they are given space to discover and explore for themselves. The Northern Ireland
Curriculum: Primary (2007, p.44) states that outdoor learning has an important role in the emotional
development of children where they are free to run, shout and play exuberantly. Children can learn
about important

The And Female Characters Of Candide
The IA Essay
How do the experiences of the women in Candide differ from those of the men? How do their
reactions to those experiences differ from those of the men?
Most of Voltaire s characters were able to explain why they could consider themselves as the most
unhappy by providing a story of what had occurred to them. Their experiences vary from natural to
man made misfortunes. However, even though, the characters reactions to their misfortunes are of a
similar, the experiences between the male and female characters of Candide are quite different in
regards to what is taken away from them.
Throughout the novel we follow, the main character, Candide, through his journey of reuniting with
his beloved Cunegonde. The journey was very dangerous because throughout the novel, Candide was
flogged, forced into an army, shipwrecked, betrayed, robbed, and separated from his love Cunegonde,
and tortured by the Inquisition. Most of Candide s misfortunes was mostly of robbery and abuse.
Throughout the journey, Candide was able to acquire love and wealth. Though, both things were taken
away from him. Cunegonde and Candide were separated frequently ever since that kiss they shared.
As for the wealth, Candide kept flaunting it around and spent a lot of it unwisely. Therefore, the
villainous characters in the novel were able to notice that Candide was a fool and noticed that robbing
some of his wealth would be an easy task for them. Though, it was at this moment that Candide was
fed up

An Unpleasant Experience At An Airport
An unpleasant experience at an airport Recently, UNICEF released a video to promote their campaign
for needy children, however it presents a stereotype against physical appearances rather than the
campaign. In the video, a 6 year old girl who dressed pretty and neatly stood alone on a street and
many people asked her whether she was all right. Later, when the same girl had changed her
appearance in dirty clothes and stood alone again in the same street, then nobody asked her whether
she was okay. The attitudes that people showed depended on the child s physical appearance. I have a
similar experience. The experience that I realized how people are offended by others who judge
people based on the physical appearances was when I waited the delayed airplane to go to Korea, a
manager ignored me since I didn t dress up neatly, however he changed his attitude politely as soon as
he noticed I was a VIP in his company. A few years ago, my mom called me in the night and said
urgently, Your grandmother is in a critical condition. I think you will be better to see her before she
passes away. I was completely overwhelmed by the unexpected news. My grandmother raised me
when I was young because my parents were busy with work, so she was very special to me. As soon

Sir John Soane Research Paper
The 19th century architect, Sir John Soane (1792 1824), is one of the greatest architects and educators

who suffered for his originality and integrity. Additionally, what people struggled to realise was that
no. 13 Lincoln s Inn Field functioned both as a house and as a museum for the study of architecture,
emphasising further the building was entitled to defy convention. As the curator for the museum from
1945 to 1984, John Summerson understood that despite how deeply the criticism affected him and the
limitations put on his architecture at the time, Soane was successful in achieving a sense of
immortality, surviving himself in the minds and thoughts of other men, undying and imperishable
(Hazlitt). This is made clear through the existence of his museum; it is Soane s most visible projection
of himself, whereby the façade of no. 13 Lincoln s Inn Fields acts as the beginning of a story
expressing the embodiment of Soane as an architect. (200

Challenges Faced By Computer Network Security
Abstract The rapid development in computer network technology leads to the security challenges
faced by it at every step of its growth. Three main threats facing computer network security include:
hackers, computer virus and denial of service attack. Safety factors of the network are mainly:
resources sharing, data communication, computer virus and TCP/IP protocol security flaws. A safety
network system should include at least three kinds of measures: legal measures, technical measures
and review and management measures. The paper analyzes the main threat facing computer network
security, discusses network security technology and advances some effective countermeasures in view
of the hidden danger of current common network security. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Plastic Life Of The Barbie Doll Essay
The Plastic Life Launched on March 1959, the Barbie doll is a toy that was first put on display in New
York. It quickly garnered a lot of attention with the target audience of the creators, young girls. This
doll was different than its previous dolls because it was a doll that was an ideal representation of a
woman. Thus allowing young girls to use their imagination to create and act out what this doll s life is
like and what their future would potentially be. To successfully understand this toy, we must think like
C Wright Mills, a sociologist who asks to use our sociological imagination, the intersection of one s
biography and history. This artifact reflects and perpetuates the dominant ideology of how to perform
your gender the right way in the early 1960s. I will argue this demonstrates West and Zimmerman s
concept of doing gender which is clarified with Judith Butler s concept of socialization of gender. The
Barbie doll is an eleven inch long plastic doll that was the first representation of an adult woman. The
original Barbie doll, built in 1959, looked as such, going from head to toe. The doll s skin color was
white. The hair color was available in either blonde or brunette put up in a ponytail. The face: the eyes
were constructed with white irises, heavy black eyeliner, blonde or brown eyebrows, blush, and red
lips. As for clothing, she wore a black and white striped swimsuit with gold hoop earrings. Along with
her came two accessories of black open toe heels

Monarch Butterflies And Chemical Pollution
Monarch butterflies and chemical pollution The monarch butterflies are decreasing by 1999 and 2010
there was a decline of the Monarch butterflies by 81% because of a Midwestern disappearance of
milkweed by 58% . Therefore, the butterflies are in danger, since they don t have food or anywhere to
lay their eggs.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The species information about these butterflies are that they re a large orange butterfly that flies with
its wings like a v shape while the wings have dark prominent veins and two rows with of white spots
at the edges with a dark body. Males tend to have bigger wingspread ranges, the average would about
3.4 to 4 inches, than females and they [males] also have a visible dark spot over a vein on their hind
wings. Now, for the life cycle the egg takes about 3 to 8 days to develop and hatch into a ... Show

Then, the caterpillar takes 9 to at least 14 days to go through five instar stages before pupating. The

to grow. The third instar larva has more distinct bands which is particularly on the abdomen. And the
fourth instar is based by a new banding pattern on the thorax while the white spots are on the prolegs

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome Research Paper
Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS) is a term that is used when describing pain in the anterior knee
and surrounding areas of the joint. PFPS is most prevalent in athletes, women, and young adults but
can also occur in other populations as there are several factors that contribute to PFPS such as overuse
injuries, which put a great amount of force and stress on the knee and can contribute to patellar
misalignment. Activities such as jogging, squatting, and climbing stairs all put increased force on the
knee joints. These repetitive motions and force can cause PFPS especially if the activity s frequency,
duration, or surfaces are changed. Skeletal misalignments between the hips, knees, and ankles or
muscular imbalances/weakness can lead to abnormal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

their MD. They will be randomly assigned to two groups. Group 1 will perform a home
quadriceps/hip combination strengthening program for 6 weeks, while group 2 will perform a core,
quadriceps, and hip strengthening program for 6 weeks. The appropriate test for this study design is a
mixed model ANOVA. In order to run the test the following assumptions must be met: the data must
have normal distribution, equal variance, ratio or interval scale of measurement, sphericity,
measurements of two or more times, and at least two independent groups. One strength of this design
is that it is able to look at multiple things at once; it can compare two independent groups over the
course of two different times. This may be great for multiple comparisons, but the math can get more

A Brief History Of Alzheimer s Disease

the last century in the developed countries due to the revolution progress in medicine and health
mainly to chronic diseases. Alzheimer s disease (AD) is one of the most well known and familiar
diseases in the modern societies AD was first reported by Alois Alzheimer in 1907.The AD is the most
common type of dementia and a neurodegenerative disease characterized by the damage of nerve cells
in the cerebral cortex. The health statistics report that AD disease affects more than 50 million people
worldwide in 2003, it is expected this number to increase to 114 million by 2050.(1) It is reported that
AD disease affect one in three people over the age 85.(2) The symptoms of AD include depression,
apathy, anxiety, agitation, aggression, delusions, hallucinations, wandering, and inappropriate sexual
behaviours.(3) AD patients suffer from decrease in cognitive function and short term memory. AD is
characterised by the formation of insoluble clumps of protein or plaques, formed by proteins known as
β amyloids. These attach to the cell surface of neurons and disabled nerve transmission. These plaques
have been demonstrated to contain relatively high levels of Zn2+, Cu2+ and Fe3+ (1 mM, 0.4 mM and
1 mM respectively).(4) While the precise role of these metals is still uncertain, they appear to bind to
so called β amyloid peptides that constitute the bulk of plaque deposits. Cu2+

Examples Of Bitterness In The Crucible
Bitterness is a feeling of anger, hurt, or resentment toward a bad experience or a sense of unjust
treatment. This emotion is human nature since humans were primitive because it made humans
remember events that negatively affected them, causing feelings such as anger, hate, and hostility
toward what caused the problem. In the play The Crucible by Arthur Miller, many circumstances came
up that caused strong feelings of pain, irritation, and furry. Bitterness is used to demonstrate a factor of
human nature throughout the play by illustrating the experiences of resentment caused by conflicts. A
part of human nature is feeling bitter, and that concept is shown through different situations during the
play. Mrs. Putnam in The Crucible was trying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Proctor said this because he was angry and resentful to the judge. The judge had very little reason to
accuse his wife. This causes Proctor to become bitter. Human nature teachers this because humans
strive for the truth. Whenever the truth is twisted humans become bitter and spiteful. An instance
occurred when Elizabeth went against what Proctor told her to do. PROCTOR: How do you go to
Salem when I forbid it? Do you mock me? Shaking her. I ll whip you if you dare leave this house

another person breaks that rule it causes frustration and results in bitterness. Anger completely
overtook Marry Warren during Abigail s trial because Abigail lied about how Elizabeth was using

reason Mary Warren got so uncontrollably mad was due to human nature. Abigail made up that was a

Warren to become that way. During this experience Hale is questioning Elizabeth about

Merryman And Stolen Art Analysis
Introduction The theft of cultural property, referred to as art, has occurred for thousands of years. An
important question therefore arises: what makes something cultural property? John Henry Merryman,
a notable figure in the field of cultural anthropology, defines cultural property as items that have
artistic, ethnographic, archeological, or historical value. (Merryman). Moreover, nations around the
world are looking for the return of cultural property in a process known as art repatriation. Due to the
long history behind stolen cultural property, the international community is seeking out art repatriation
more vehemently than ever, taking into account the ethical implications of art repatriation as well.

First off, a major focal point of anti repatriation argument includes the availability of art to the public.
One of the main goals of a museum is to educate the public on history through primary sources
available at the museum. With art repatriated, the argument can be made that museums will lose their
appeal to the public. In the most drastic cases of repatriation, some museums would eventually evolve
into an educational source similar to a textbook, where there would be no artifacts to view. A counter
argument to this claim is that repatriated art is at times displayed at the local museums of origin.
While this is a completely substantiated argument, the majority of museum goers will most likely not
subject themselves to countless museums visits. Next, research can be more easily conducted on a
central location where several artifacts are located. Museums are designed for people to learn about
cultures from the artifacts that they hold; this learning often times occurs through research. While it is
possible to conduct research at the site where a cultural object was created, museums can be easier to
access and have a larger archive of information and artwork available. Lastly, some assert that art
repatriation only serves nationalistic ambitions. Nations want their people to rally behind them so that
they can have support during tough times. Basically, there is a possibility that a potential political
agenda might exist when art is repatriated back to a home

She Walks In Beauty Summary
She Walks in Beauty is a great little poem written by Lord Byron (George Gordon) which is written in
iambic tetrameter, this specific meter usually found in hymns are associated with sincerity, and
simplicity. iambic tetrameter is a great choice in my opinion, it fits perfectly with the text. Bryson
writes this poem about Robert Wilmot s wife, Mrs Wilmot, Byron really tries to convey the love the
speaker feels towards a stunning women walking with her own aura of beauty. The author speaks
about how the poem occurred when he attended an event to meet his cousin which is the woman. This
encounter then led him to visualize a vivid image of her so he begins to speak of he stunning beauty.
The author compares her beauty to the stars clearly visible in a dark, cloudless night. This highly
rhythmic poem with meaningful tones is found in Hebrew Melodies which was completed in 1815
conveys the authors message through very descriptive imagery. The author doesn t describe her
physical features she is more or less evaluated in terms of the physical world, she is shown responding
to the world around her. To further understand this piece of work you really need to know his back
story. George Gordon born 1788 in London, son of Captain John, Mad Jack, Bryron and his second
wife, Catherine Gordon, a Scots heiress. The following 10 years were nothing to brag about because

BOOK REVIEW
Lifelong learning in the Global Knowledge Economy: Challenge for Developing Countries Lifelong
learning is becoming necessary in many countries and it is more than just education and training
beyond formal schooling. This book indicated that a lifelong learning framework encompasses
learning throughout the lifecycle, form early childhood to retirement, and in different learning
environments, formal, nonformal, and informal. This report represents the World Bank s first attempt
to lay out an analytical framework for understanding the challenges of developing a lifelong learning
system. This book, which is as well as a report presenting lifelong learning in the global knowledge
economy: challenges for developing countries, explores the challenges to education and training
system that the knowledge economy presents. It outlines policy options for addressing these
challenges and developing viable systems of lifelong learning in developing countries and countries
with transition economies. This book addresses 4 questions: 1, what does a national education and
training system, including its formal and nonformal components, need to do to support knowledge
based economic growth? 2, how can developing countries and countries with transition economies
promote lifelong learning, and what challenges do they face in doing so? 3, given limited resources,
what type of governance framework promotes lifelong learning for people in general and

As a child, I remember my relatives offering me a piece of gum and ending up finding out that it was a

A Short Story Of A Ghost Story
I shall begin my story with an experience I encountered at the age of sixteen at our small town s Latin
school. The sweetness of many memories from that time still stirs and touches me with melancholy:
dark and well lit alleys, houses and factories, faces and chimes, rooms affluent and comfortable, snug
and amenable, the whole town was pregnant with secrets.
The realms of day and night, two different universes coming from two opposite poles, mingled during
this time. My parents home belonged to one realm. This realm was familiar to me in many ways
strictness and love, model behaviour and school. This realm was thriving in clarity, brilliance and
purity, polite conversations and good manners. This was the world in which morning hymns were
sung and Christmas celebrated. Straight lines and paths led into the future: there was duty, love,
forgiveness, good resolutions, wisdom and reverence. If one wanted an unsullied and ordinary life,
one made sure one was in league with this world.
The other realm, however, was completely different: it smelt different, spoke a different language,
promised and demanded different things. This world contained ghost stories, rumours of scandals and
servant girls. It was dominated by a loud mixture of horrendous, intriguing, frightful, mysterious
things, including slaughterhouses and prisons, drunkards and screeching fishwives, calving cows,
horse sinking to their deaths, talks of robberies, murders and suicides. All these wild and cruel,

the same stuff that they are wearing and wants to get the same phone because everybody has the same
phone but they go to the phone store and they just found out that they can t get an iphone because it s
so expensive and they can t afford it and they were looking at android phones and they found out that
it s a lot more better when it comes to expenses .Many people these days fight over to talk about
which phone is better Android or Iphones, but they are just phones but there are ups and downs for
both of the brands. One of the reasons is that the expenses of the phones that they make, Almost
everyone can afford and Android they come in different prices and apple prices are really high and a
lot of people can t get that phone because they can t afford it. Android is the most selling phone to this
day still. Another reason is that multitasking is a lot easier they introduced multi window awhile ago,
which means you can look at several apps at once. My last reason is that androids are able to take the
batteries out because they die over time.
My main reason is that androids are a lot more cheaper and is around most peoples prices that they are
looking for. And apple keeps their iphones at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One argument is because maybe headphones may come with them them or they charge better and last
a lot longer but with androids if your charger breaks you can go out and buy them instead of going
online and buy it and wait a couple days just for a charger. And they could argue that iphone screens
are better because they are bigger but that doesn t mean it is always good because they are having
problems with the screens popping out and the phones bending. Lastly the newer iphones they make it
where you cant plug your headphones into the phone and they are making it where you have to use
bluetooth headphones which could be a lot more

The United States Army Officer And Private Security...
Quelling Fear
Cyril Richard Rick Rescorla was a United States Army officer and private security officer originally
from the United Kingdom who served in Northern Rhodesia and as a commissioned officer in the
Vietnam War, where he was a second lieutenant in the United States Army. After the 1988 bombing of
Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, Rescorla began to worry about a terrorist attack on the
World Trade Center. When Rescorla asked Daniel Hill, a friend from Rhodesia that was trained in
counter terrorism measures, how he would attack the building were he a terrorist, Hill asked to see the
basement. The two walked down to the basement parking garage without being stopped by any visible
security, Hill pointed to an easily accessible load bearing column, explaining how easy it would be for
an attack to be carried out in a similar manner. That year, Rescorla and Hill wrote a report to the Port
Authority of New York and New Jersey, which owns the site, insisting on the need for more security in
the parking garage. Their recommendations, which would have been expensive to implement, were
ignored (Stewart, 2002).
Following the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing, Rescorla invited Hill to New York, where he hired
him as a security consultant in order to assess the building s security. Although no arrests had yet been
made in the case, Rescorla suspected that the bomb had been planted by Muslims. Hill went
undercover in several mosques throughout New Jersey, showing up

The Threat Of ISIS
Everyday we see on the news the next terrible thing that has happened involving ISIS. Mothers,
fathers, sons, and daughters are all perishing due to cruelty of this group. We all sit around waiting for
the next attack hoping that it isn t us, living our lives in the fear of the possibility of being a victim to
these people. The US continues to attempt to control ISIS and put them to an end, but no one can find
the right solution.
Now I think that I am among the many when I say we need to put an end to this madness now, and lay
the foundation for a safe future for the generations to come. If we could find a simple way to eliminate
ISIS or the threat of ISIS then I think that the citizens of the United States will be able to breath easier

There are other ways of dealing with this threat without harming the rest of the world or innocent
people.
First, we could use our advanced technology to get information about where top ISIS targets are
located and investigate them further. Once we have higher priority targets we could send in scouts or
drones to make sure no citizens are around and if there are then we will remove them for the time
being. Then we will send in forces to put a stop to their operations and take into custody members of
ISIS and bring them in for questioning.
Second, we could continue to develop advanced robots that will be able to go into these places for us.
Now we are not quite there yet to having fully operational robots that are battle ready, but if we
continue to put our money and energy into that research then it will be possible one day to have them.
Once they are developed we can send them in and they will be able to get information and target
enemies way better than a human can. This will limit are collateral damage and save our own troops

Diabetic Foot Ulcer Teaching Project
I Introduction:
Diabetes is one of the most discussed and debated chronic disease amongst many conditions in the
category, and has been studied extensively. This is undoubtedly related to just how common diabetes
is. In fact, in 2013, according to the IDF Diabetes Atlas (2013), 382 million individuals had diabetes,
around 6% of the roughly 7 billion world population. Amongst those, about 80% live in low to middle
income countries (IDF, 2013). Considering that those countries form the majority of the world and that
they encompass a majority of diabetics, we can notice a very wide spread pattern of diabetes in the
world. These high numbers are not stagnant, to boot, with 592 million diabetes patients expected in
2035 (IDF, 2013), ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indeed, this paper, after the overview given on diabetes, is really about diabetic foot ulcer as one of
the prominent complications of uncontrolled diabetes. Diabetic foot is certainly one of the more
serious complications in diabetes as it can turn from a minor manifestation to extremes such as
amputation in a flash. The processes behind the formation and progress of it will be elaborated at a
later part in this paper, as will the details of the teaching project behind this paper, in order to increase
awareness about diabetic foot, its prevention and its management.
II Target audience:
The target audience naturally includes all patients suffering from diabetic foot for treatment and
management purposes, it more importantly includes all type II diabetes patients in the community for
prevention purposes as prevention is much more important than treatment in this topic. Treatment
modalities as will be discussed later might be extreme, but prevention can help avoid them altogether.
III Subject Area:
Diabetes Mellitus type II had been a topic widely known, but not deep enough to be diagnosed or
prevented early. Most people have the idea that this is caused only genetically or just for older adults,
ignoring some symptoms they might experience under the title of we are not prone to have diabetes .
The statistics given earlier have shown that diabetes is even more common that those people might
think. Several teaching

Planning
In the planning phase, a Project Charter is provided to all management, stakeholders and those with
significant authority over the company. The Project Charter essentially defines the project. It contains
the objectives of the project describing the deliverables, while also containing a description of the
criteria used to assess when each section is completed, risk assessments and identifies stakeholders
and management (Documentation Consultants, n.d.). The Project Management Plan is also produced
during the planning phase. It contains the project s schedule and milestones, required resources and
cost estimations and budgets.
To start off the planning you must study the current system with the people involved (such as clients,
employees or management). These groups would have meetings to discuss areas of the system that
could be improved and suggest possible solutions. In these meetings, agendas are given out so that
everyone knows what the objectives are. Notes are recorded to be reviewed during requirements
analysis.
Also included in the analysis phase is a feasibility study. As the name would suggest it simply assesses
if the new system is feasible within the budget and manpower of the company. (Overton, 2007)
It would determine if the project should even be started and if would it be possible to make it within
the budget

How Is Jocasta Weak
She gave up her baby for death. She married and had kids with her son. Upon realization, she
committed suicide. All of these events lead readers to view Queen Jocasta as weak because readers do
not look at the whole character of Jocasta and her various characteristics that she displays throughout
Sophocles Oedipus Rex. From when we first meet her to her suicide, Jocasta has shown admirable
qualities, especially for a woman. In the play, Jocasta portrays a strong will and sense of defiance
through her demeanor and thoughts. In the initial meeting of the Queen, Jocasta is shown as defiant
because of the assertiveness she shows. For example, Jocasta interrupts Creon and Oedipus with, Have
you no sense? Poor misguided men,/ such shouting why ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, once she realizes Oedipus will discover the truth of the prophecy, she bursts out exclaiming,
Aieeeeee / man of agony / that is the only name I have for you,/ that, no other ever, ever, ever! (1176
1179). Though this outburst may seem like Jocasta is trying to avoid the subject, the way women are
characterized as, Jocasta is trying to change the way events will unfold. Instead of making the truth of
the prophecy known, she tries to make people believe that prophecies are false. In this way, Jocasta
tries to defy the Gods because she refuses to embrace that the prophecy is true. Similarly, a servant
explains her actions before her suicide to the country after she had ran inside: Once she d broken in
through the gates, dashing past us, frantic, whipped to fury, [...] she wailed for Laius, dead so long,
[...] And then but how she died is more than I can say (1369 1382). Many people view Jocasta as weak
in this scene, yet they fail to see how she was defying the Gods. She had learned that there is no way
to escape the prophecies that were told to them, so took matters into her own hands by deciding to end
her life. Jocasta refuses to let people, even the Gods, take control of her life and in the end she had the
final say to her life thought it led to her demise. Though some actions may be perceived as weak
characteristics, if you look deeper into Jocasta then the

Swan Lake
SWAN LAKE
‘Swan Lake was re choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov in1895, after initially being
choreographed by Julius Reisinger in 1877. The musical score was composed by Pytor Tchaikovsky.
‘Swan Lake was created towards the end of the romantic period, so the culture and style of
romanticism was prominent, with glimpses of the beginning of the classical era. Because of this, it
contains elements of both eras. Some of the romantic characteristics include the pursuit of the
unattainable, romance, fantasy, focus on the female role, gas lighting and simple sets, pointe work,
soft and feminine technique for females and the bell tutu. Some of the classical features include the
length of the ballet, the classical tutu and more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prince Siegfried has to choose between keeping his word and his love for Odette, and as a result he
takes Odette and they jump into the lake and drown, the other swans also drive Odile and von
Rothbart into the lake, and are left to their deserved fate. Some of the themes of a romantic ballet are
shown in the plot of ‘Swan Lake , along with a few from the classical Ballets. A theme of romance
between Odette and Prince Seigfried, is evident with their oath of undying love for each other.
Romance was very important in a classical ballet, as the romantic era affected peoples emotions, and
Although the plots may be fictional, the themes were always real and universal Also the pursuit of the
unattainable is also evident, with prince Siegfried not wanting any of the princesses available, but
instead wanting to be with someone living a cursed life. For the working class in Russia, the ballet
was an escape, and seeing someone pursue for something they want was a source of motivation for the
audience. Also themes of the supernatural are shown, with the sorcerer, von Rothbart, enchanting
beautiful maidens. The supernatural themes helped the audience mentally escape from real life, so was
popular for the working class.
‘Swan Lake is a four act ballet, which is a common element amongst the classical era of ballets.
During the romantic era they were usually only two acts, where as they were up

  • 4. Benefits of Technology Incorporation into a Classroom Setting Today, our society is more technologically advanced than it has ever been, and our schools have become more technologically progressive over the past few years, but does having technology in the classroom help or hinder the students from learning? A quote by John Dewey from his book Democracy and Education stated If we teach today s students as we taught yesterday s, we rob them of tomorrow. Integrating technology into classrooms is not only essential in preparing the students for the future, but it is also an effective teaching method. Many surveys and studies have been done about using technology to teach students. Even as early as 6 years old to college level and the outcomes have varied, depending on the way it was introduced and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, give a brief description of technological manner in a classroom, allow usage during non test days for note taking and the penalty of a reduced participation if the technology proves distracting to the student or his/her peers (Jackson). Another way to ensure that the students are not misusing the technology is for the teachers to teach the students how to get the most out of it. Most devices can be connected to the internet and there are almost an infinite number of things that you can do, see, and use while on there, but if the students spend their time doing assignments, projects and learning new skills the likelihood of them misusing it will decrease significantly. Applications on hand held devices such as tablets and iPads have made learning more fun for students. An app was created for students 8 years or younger, where they can learn early reading skills such as basic sight words, and they can practice writing and grammar skills while creating their own interactive stories (Pilgrim, Bledsoe and Reily). Mathematics apps focus on beginning concepts of math number sense and include diagnostic games to determine the instructional level of each student. The apps are also available for more advanced concepts. Science apps can do things like turn an iPad into a telescope where students can explore the stars and planets to ... • 5. Funding Tender Of Cash Value Benefits Several years ago, Texas WIC formed operational and technical workgroups to discuss the feasibility of adding split tender of Cash Value Benefits (CVB) as optional functionality for Smartcard WIC to enable WIC clients to use the full amount of CVB prescribed to them. The technical workgroup recommended another feature, benefit reversal, be added for situations where WIC clients didn t have the additional funds available to purchase items that would be split tendered with WIC benefits in the transaction. This functionality was already available in online WIC but FNS requirements restricted the process of adding benefits to the WIC card during the development and acceptance of Smartcard WIC design. In fact, there were no point of sale ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Around the same time, the Smartcard states released updated specifications and test scripts. The X9.131 standard was adopted by the X9 committee in early 2015 and published through ANSI. As the WIC stakeholders were doing the work necessary to prepare developers for the split tender mandate, the credit card industry was also mandating changes in the retail world. Retailers would have to implement all changes necessary to handle chip and PIN EMV cards prior to October 1, 2015 or assume the liability for all fraudulent transactions where the mag stripe was swiped on an EMV capable card. As developers scrambled to meet this deadline (of which many failed), the implementation dates continued to slip which also delayed development efforts for the WIC benefit reversal development. As of April 2016, many retailers can still not accept an EMV chip card. Texas WIC was notified by Kroger on April 15, 2016 that the software delivery for split tender and benefit reversal would be delayed until early 2017. There is concern because they will not meet the extended deadline mandated by USDA FNS and will not be compliant with the terms of the WIC Vendor Agreement in the Smartcard WIC states that they do business. Texas and the other Smartcard states must now determine a course of action on how to respond to Kroger (and others that may have similar issues but have not notified us yet). Summary Of Slavery Without Submission With reference to chapter 8 and 9 of Zinn s book: Slavery without Submission , Emancipation without freedom in A People s History of the United States, It was clearly established that that the Civil War was not really fought over the moral issue of slavery, but rather the economic issue of slavery. To reveal these American intentions behind the abolition of slavery, Zinn focuses on the Civil War which usually thought of as the paramount event in U.S. emancipation. After reviewing a few slave revolts and their defeats, he turns to focus on Abraham Lincoln and his ability to skillfully blend the interests of the very rich and the interests of the black at a moment in history when these interests met. Friedman When using Chanel s cosmetics, when drinking Danone yogurt with breakfast, when driving Ford motor the way home, global brands which are highly visible symbol of the increasing integration of world market, could been discovered around everywhere. As Thomas L. Friedman (2005) states, World is flat! , which means world is being shrunk by the spreading of globalisation. Globalisation, a result of social development, can be described as the increase in cross broader trade and influence on the economic and social behaviour of nation states (David Begg, 2003:272). This process has affected the world widely and deeply, principally in economics, industrial, technological, political and cultural aspects. Over the past decade, as the liberalization of national and openness of global markets, globalisation has benefitted the world significantly, such as income improved, increase of imports and exports, industrial development, thus, free flow of trade, capital and information have produced the best outcome for growth and human welfare. Therefore, it is little doubt that globalisation has positive impact on developed and developing countries. When it comes to China, ever since it formally joined WTO, great benefits has been gained from the international trade while a huge boost to the collaboration with other countries. • 8. The Views of Rupert Brooke and Wilfred Owen on War Essay The Views of Rupert Brooke and Wil My selected poems are The Soldier by Rupert Brooke and Dulce et Decorum est by Wilfred Owen. Both war poems but conveying their different feelings and presenting their views of war in radically different ways. The poets have polarized views of war with Rupert Brooke writing his poem in a romanticized and patriotic way referring to the possibility of death as a noble cause, for England the land that gave him life. This is at odds to how Wilfred Owen views the reality and horror of war. The rest of the stanza continues to describe the men and the things they saw and sounds they heard: Drunk with fatigue, deaf even to the hoots Of Gas shells dropping softly behind The use of the word Drunk is trying to emphasise that the soldier s were acting oblivious to the happenings around them as if they weren t conscious and even deaf to the sounds of bombs. In the second stanza the poet portrays an ecstasy of fumbling meaning he creates a huge panic of all the men trying to apply their gas masks in time and illustrates the image of one soldier who didn t get his mask on in time. Gas! Gas! Quick boys An ecstasy of fumbling, Fitting the clumsy helmets This is the only quote of one of the men saying something and adds to the image of the rush they were in. The adjective clumsy is used trying to describe how awkward the helmets were to put on, and how much of a hassle they were to put on. One of the men in this poem didn t get his mask on in time and was left by the rest in pain, screaming and becoming weak: But someone was still yelling out and stumbling The word someone is used there because Owen is trying to show the man as being just another soldier. He was nothing special in that he died for his country but no one remembers him as a hero, just one of the thousands of men who died.

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Re exposure to the Varicella zoster virus via close contact with individuals with the disease has been proposed to boost specific immunity, therefore reducing the risk of contracting chicken pox. In contrast, however, this may have lead to a higher incidence of shingles in older adults. The shingles immunization is now recommended for people sixty years and older to offset contracting the shingles virus. (Chavez, Santibanez, Gargiullo, Guris, 2007) Chickenpox is seasonal infectious disease, and usually has an uptick of incidence in the late winter and early spring. For the most part, chicken pox is a childhood disease, accounting for greater than 90% of incidences occurring in kids less than ten years of age. It is typically nonthreatening in a healthy child, with a morbidity in immune compromised patients and adults. The agent factor is the presence of the virus, Varicella zoster, in the epidemiologic triangle. The host factor would include mostly children less than fifteen years of age, but anyone who has not had chickenpox would be vulnerable to contract the disease. In most cases, a person usually only has one occurrence of chickenpox in their lifetime. Johnson comes from old money. He is the great grandson of one of the brothers that founded Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceuticals and his father inherited a fortune of one billion dollars. In the documentary, Jamie Johnson takes on the character of a filmmaker seemingly disinterested by his and his family s overly abundant wealth. This sign foreshadows and symbolizes the exclusive nature of the upper class that Johnson describes later in the film. He begins to make conversation with a woman who has a British accent. A study done by Howard Giles with the department of Psychology at the University of Bristol, states Their [Wallace Lambert and colleagues] work has shown that stereotyped impressions of an individual s personality may be formulated by listeners when presented with a speaker s voice whose vocal contours are representative of phonological patterns peculiar to specific group membership. (Giles) Plainly, when people hear an accent, subconsciously they connect it with their previous experiences involving people with that accent. Because the British are often known for their history of wealth, power, monarchies, and luxurious culture, the average viewer of the documentary will subconsciously and inherently connect the women s British accent to wealth and authority. At this point in the film, upon hearing her voice the viewer will have a broad understanding of what the documentary is about before even being presented the formal narration of Johnson s thesis. The spying concept, the luxurious environment, and the audio of refined music and voice all come together as elements that make this scene extensively persuasive. • 14. Benefits Of Learning Outside The Classroom There is no doubt that learning outside the classroom should be compulsory for all schools. Many of my own memories from Primary School are those in which I spent outside of the classroom making daisy chains and learning about birds at a local park. Nowadays, children are losing the opportunity to explore their natural world and have fun outside as advances in technology have caused them to play games on their tablets or iPads and the increase of cars means that it is safer for them to play inside. Many children do not go outside at all, apart from when they are at school, therefore it is extremely important that they are given as many opportunities as possible during the school day to have enjoyable experiences outside of the classroom. Grigg and Lewis (2016, p. 19) define learning outside the classroom as children learning about people, their heritage and the natural environment, largely through play and first hand experiences, in a wide range of contexts beyond the classroom. Learning outside the classroom enables teachers to bring the curricula alive by integrating the school grounds and the local landscape into their teaching (Beames et al., 2012). It is important that children are given more opportunities to explore the natural world as there is no doubt that there are many benefits to outdoor learning. Furthermore, according to the Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto: Every young person should experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of learning and personal development, whatever their age, ability or circumstances. (Department of Education and Skills, 2006, p.2) The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (2017) believes that outdoor learning is a powerful tool that is proven to raise achievement, improve social, emotional and personal development and contributes to the health and well being of children and young people. There is no doubt that children will learn better if they are given space to discover and explore for themselves. The Northern Ireland Curriculum: Primary (2007, p.44) states that outdoor learning has an important role in the emotional development of children where they are free to run, shout and play exuberantly. • 16. The And Female Characters Of Candide The IA Essay How do the experiences of the women in Candide differ from those of the men? How do their reactions to those experiences differ from those of the men? Most of Voltaire s characters were able to explain why they could consider themselves as the most unhappy by providing a story of what had occurred to them. Their experiences vary from natural to man made misfortunes. However, even though, the characters reactions to their misfortunes are of a similar, the experiences between the male and female characters of Candide are quite different in regards to what is taken away from them. Throughout the novel we follow, the main character, Candide, through his journey of reuniting with his beloved Cunegonde. The journey was very dangerous because throughout the novel, Candide was flogged, forced into an army, shipwrecked, betrayed, robbed, and separated from his love Cunegonde, and tortured by the Inquisition. Most of Candide s misfortunes was mostly of robbery and abuse. Throughout the journey, Candide was able to acquire love and wealth. Though, both things were taken away from him. Cunegonde and Candide were separated frequently ever since that kiss they shared. As for the wealth, Candide kept flaunting it around and spent a lot of it unwisely. Therefore, the villainous characters in the novel were able to notice that Candide was a fool and noticed that robbing some of his wealth would be an easy task for them. An Unpleasant Experience At An Airport An unpleasant experience at an airport Recently, UNICEF released a video to promote their campaign for needy children, however it presents a stereotype against physical appearances rather than the campaign. In the video, a 6 year old girl who dressed pretty and neatly stood alone on a street and many people asked her whether she was all right. Later, when the same girl had changed her appearance in dirty clothes and stood alone again in the same street, then nobody asked her whether she was okay. The attitudes that people showed depended on the child s physical appearance. I have a similar experience. The experience that I realized how people are offended by others who judge people based on the physical appearances was when I waited the delayed airplane to go to Korea, a manager ignored me since I didn t dress up neatly, however he changed his attitude politely as soon as he noticed I was a VIP in his company. A few years ago, my mom called me in the night and said urgently, Your grandmother is in a critical condition. I think you will be better to see her before she passes away. As stated in the Oxford Dictionary of Architecture, the museum is one of the most complex, intricate, and ingenious series of interiors ever conceived. Despite exploring all the classical styles of architecture in his lifetime, Soane, abstracted these classical conventions to fit his own personal interpretation , leading towards a new freedom of architecture. It is this freedom that allows us to disagree with the critical views of the 19th century, a time where Soane was indeed, a great architect who suffered for his originality and integrity. Additionally, what people struggled to realise was that no. 13 Lincoln s Inn Field functioned both as a house and as a museum for the study of architecture, emphasising further the building was entitled to defy convention. As the curator for the museum from 1945 to 1984, John Summerson understood that despite how deeply the criticism affected him and the limitations put on his architecture at the time, Soane was successful in achieving a sense of immortality, surviving himself in the minds and thoughts of other men, undying and imperishable (Hazlitt). This is made clear through the existence of his museum; it is Soane s most visible projection of himself, whereby the façade of no. 13 Lincoln s Inn Fields acts as the beginning of a story expressing the embodiment of Soane as an architect. It quickly garnered a lot of attention with the target audience of the creators, young girls. This doll was different than its previous dolls because it was a doll that was an ideal representation of a woman. Thus allowing young girls to use their imagination to create and act out what this doll s life is like and what their future would potentially be. To successfully understand this toy, we must think like C Wright Mills, a sociologist who asks to use our sociological imagination, the intersection of one s biography and history. This artifact reflects and perpetuates the dominant ideology of how to perform your gender the right way in the early 1960s. I will argue this demonstrates West and Zimmerman s concept of doing gender which is clarified with Judith Butler s concept of socialization of gender. The Barbie doll is an eleven inch long plastic doll that was the first representation of an adult woman. The original Barbie doll, built in 1959, looked as such, going from head to toe. One of the main goals of a museum is to educate the public on history through primary sources available at the museum. With art repatriated, the argument can be made that museums will lose their appeal to the public. In the most drastic cases of repatriation, some museums would eventually evolve into an educational source similar to a textbook, where there would be no artifacts to view. A counter argument to this claim is that repatriated art is at times displayed at the local museums of origin. While this is a completely substantiated argument, the majority of museum goers will most likely not subject themselves to countless museums visits. Next, research can be more easily conducted on a central location where several artifacts are located. Museums are designed for people to learn about cultures from the artifacts that they hold; this learning often times occurs through research. While it is possible to conduct research at the site where a cultural object was created, museums can be easier to access and have a larger archive of information and artwork available. In The Construction of Femininity, Race and Sexuality , the term feminist has a broader reach, it describes a range of self determination and equality (Tyree 2). Lucille Clifton praises her body that has made her independent. She believes the only thing that sets a man off from a woman is her hips. She believed that women should have the same rights as men, her hips should have not been held back. Women are capable of performing the same tasks. Women are emotionally stronger than men as well. Women were granted with a gift that no man could ever do, childbearing. Many look at it as not a grand thing, but in fact the world is dependent on a woman. The speaker states that these hips are magic hips (12) to show how they could help her get certain things from a male. Clifton writes, i have known them to put a spell on a man and spin him like a top (13 15) to display how her hips could possible attract a lover. Comparing that shock to an electric chair, could you imagine the pain? In 1953, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who shared the same admiration for the Communist party, were both executed with an electric chair. Due to their involvement with the Soviet Union and transferring information from their connections during World War II, they were caught and executed. One hundred years ago, Julius Rosenberg was born in New York City. His parents immigrated from Russia. He was so fascinated by politics that he joined the Young Communist League as a teenager. When he attended college, he studied electrical engineering and soon after became an engineer for the United States Army. Three years before Julius was born, Ethel was born on 1915. Being a part of many theater shows at her school, she always appreciated music and theater during high school. • 40. A Short Story Of A Ghost Story I shall begin my story with an experience I encountered at the age of sixteen at our small town s Latin school. The sweetness of many memories from that time still stirs and touches me with melancholy: dark and well lit alleys, houses and factories, faces and chimes, rooms affluent and comfortable, snug and amenable, the whole town was pregnant with secrets. The realms of day and night, two different universes coming from two opposite poles, mingled during this time. My parents home belonged to one realm. This realm was familiar to me in many ways strictness and love, model behaviour and school. This realm was thriving in clarity, brilliance and purity, polite conversations and good manners. This was the world in which morning hymns were sung and Christmas celebrated. Straight lines and paths led into the future: there was duty, love, forgiveness, good resolutions, wisdom and reverence. If one wanted an unsullied and ordinary life, one made sure one was in league with this world. The other realm, however, was completely different: it smelt different, spoke a different language, promised and demanded different things. This world contained ghost stories, rumours of scandals and servant girls. It was dominated by a loud mixture of horrendous, intriguing, frightful, mysterious things, including slaughterhouses and prisons, drunkards and screeching fishwives, calving cows, horse sinking to their deaths, talks of robberies, murders and suicides. All these wild and cruel, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. The United States Army Officer And Private Security... Quelling Fear Cyril Richard Rick Rescorla was a United States Army officer and private security officer originally from the United Kingdom who served in Northern Rhodesia and as a commissioned officer in the Vietnam War, where he was a second lieutenant in the United States Army. After the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, Rescorla began to worry about a terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. When Rescorla asked Daniel Hill, a friend from Rhodesia that was trained in counter terrorism measures, how he would attack the building were he a terrorist, Hill asked to see the basement. The two walked down to the basement parking garage without being stopped by any visible security, Hill pointed to an easily accessible load bearing column, explaining how easy it would be for an attack to be carried out in a similar manner. That year, Rescorla and Hill wrote a report to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which owns the site, insisting on the need for more security in the parking garage. Their recommendations, which would have been expensive to implement, were ignored (Stewart, 2002). Following the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing, Rescorla invited Hill to New York, where he hired him as a security consultant in order to assess the building s security. Although no arrests had yet been made in the case, Rescorla suspected that the bomb had been planted by Muslims. Hill went undercover in several mosques throughout New Jersey, showing up ... Then we will send in forces to put a stop to their operations and take into custody members of ISIS and bring them in for questioning. Second, we could continue to develop advanced robots that will be able to go into these places for us. From when we first meet her to her suicide, Jocasta has shown admirable qualities, especially for a woman. In the play, Jocasta portrays a strong will and sense of defiance through her demeanor and thoughts. Instead of making the truth of the prophecy known, she tries to make people believe that prophecies are false. In this way, Jocasta tries to defy the Gods because she refuses to embrace that the prophecy is true. She had learned that there is no way to escape the prophecies that were told to them, so took matters into her own hands by deciding to end her life.
