Outline For Comparison Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Outline for Comparison Essay" can be a challenging
endeavor. It requires a thorough understanding of the topic and a keen ability to analyze and
compare various elements. Developing a comprehensive outline involves organizing thoughts,
identifying key points of comparison, and ensuring a logical flow of ideas.
One difficulty lies in the need for a deep understanding of the subjects being compared.
Researching and gathering relevant information about each aspect requires time and effort.
Additionally, it demands critical thinking skills to identify meaningful connections and
differences between the subjects.
Another challenge is maintaining a balance between the two subjects throughout the essay.
Striking an equilibrium ensures that neither subject overshadows the other, fostering a fair and
objective comparison. It requires finesse in language and structure to present arguments and
evidence in a coherent and convincing manner.
Creating a well-structured outline is crucial, as it serves as the roadmap for the entire essay. The
outline must encompass the introduction, thesis statement, body paragraphs, and conclusion,
with each section contributing to the overall coherence of the essay. Ensuring that the essay
follows a logical progression adds another layer of complexity to the writing process.
In summary, composing an essay on the "Outline for Comparison Essay" demands a combination

A Farmer Is Reliable And Hard Working
And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, I need a
caretaker. So God made a farmer. A farmer is someone who can multitask. He can
work long hours, raise livestock, till the fields, sow seed for crops, maintain his
home, support his family, and still attend a school board meeting that runs past
midnight. He not only provides for his family and animals, he provides for the
nation. It is proof, based on all these responsibilities, that a farmer is dependable and
hard working. So, Dodgemade the Ram truck to take care of the farmer. Dodge
would like you, the consumer, to know that their Ram truck is also dependable and
hard working, like a farmer. Because we the nation rely on such a dependable
individual to feed us, Dodge manufactured a dependable vehicle for the farmer in
order to fulfill his tasks. According to this commercial, the farmer is someone who
can do all these things, yet take care of his family, while supplying the nation with
food and livestock. Dodge is using this commercial as a way to associate the mighty
farmer , who people depend on, with their mighty truck, which is dependable for
heavy farming needs. The commercial utilizes select photographs, some of which
feature a Dodge Ramtruck being used on the farm, to portray the daily life of a
farmer. These pictures give us the impression that the truck is designed to be strong
enough to clear trees and heave bails , and yet provide a gentle enough ride for
Civil War Soldier And The Art Of Dying Analysis
The Civil War shook the United States in 1861, forcing families and soldiers, both in
the North and South, to reevaluate what it meant to live and die under less than ideal
circumstances. In Drew Gilpin Faust s essay, titled The Civil War Soldier and the
Art of Dying, Faust goes through every change the Civil War made in the standard
perception of deathand mourning at the time and the lasting implications death in the
Civil War would have for years to come. In every sense, the changes Faust outlines
were put in place to cater towards the They of Heideggerian thought and ultimately
did not help Civil War soldiers and families think authentically about death, but rather
shaped social norms that still support the They and prohibit Dasein from authentically
anticipating death as a possibility.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Historical implications of death in general shapes our social norms which support the
They. Death will always remain a personal experience which the Dasein will navigate
through their whole lives. The way history has shaped death in the United States is
largely reflected on how we deal with grief and mourning as a whole rather than
assisting in how we personally actualize being towards death and authentically
thinking about death as a possibility. Therefore, Civil War Death and using historical
context when navigating death and dying, does not support successfully,

Police Officers And Police Enforcement Officers Essay
Law enforcement officers are authorized to use different forces based on its situation.
Officers face many circumstances during the period of their job when use of force is
necessary. For example, making arrests, restraining unruled combatants, and while
controlling disruptive situations. Incidents involving the use of excessive force by
the policefrequently receive media attentions, legislators and sometimes even
criminal courts. To serve better for a community or country a small percentage of
police interactions with citizens involve use of force to server better and protect
others from illegal or criminal minds. NIJ sponsored research explains that police
custody arrests (handcuffing) used less than 20 percent of 7,512 arrests. Even in
those cases police used weaponless techniques like grabbing or holding can be
view as minor types of force statistics on police us of force on citizens. The further
support by the research, it indicates that the incidents contain resistance by
suspects, their injuries resulting from the police use of force were typically
minor. As part of the police force trainings, officers are trained to use force
progressively along a continuum and policy requires that officers use the least
amount of force necessary to accomplish their goals. The use of force typically
occurs when police are trying to make an arrest and the suspect is resisting. And
when injuries occur because of the use of force, they are likely to be minor. This is

It is my distinct honor to recommend Dr. B. J. Worthington as Excellence in STEM
Leadership Award. Seven years ago, I crossed paths with Dr. Worthington and during
this time he was an acquaintance, therefore, I did not recognize what a visionary,
passionate, and committed person he was until I was introduced to Moore Magnet
Elementary and STEM. From day one, Dr. Worthington envisioned how STEM
should unfold inside of our school. Therefore, we had multiple meetings, made plans
for implementation, and STEM to succeed, as our school transitioned from a Math

proud of our school and continue to reflect on the journey as we transitioned into this

Labor Law Whistle Blowing Dillema Essay
Labor Law Whistle Blowing Dillema Labor relations today, are quite different from
those that existed in England during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries when
employment relationships were considered of very little importance in the eyes of
the law. Industrialization and commerce grew bringing with it the birth of modem
day labor law. America was in no way exempt from the pain of progress. Employer
and employee relationships were strained from the very beginning of labor, and it
soon was evident that government intervention would be necessary to keep the labor
movement on track. Several statues have been enacted since the early nineteenth
century to deal with management and unions. Evidence can be seen from the Norris

(2) The active whistle blower describes employees that voice their concerns over
illegal activity conducted by their employer, and take steps either internally or
externally to expose such activity. The active whistle blower usually creates the
most controversy because this person is under the employ of the people or
organization who are the object of the complaint (Westman 21). (3) The embryonic
whistle blower describes employees who have been terminated before they have the
opportunity to expose their employers practices. These employees are usually
terminated because the employer suspects that they represent a potentially sensitive
or unfavorable predicament (Westman 22). The various forms of retribution that
whistle blowers endure at the hands of employers both financially and
psychologically for attempting to correct mismanagement, fraud, and dishonesty are
often too much for the whistle blower to bear. Careers are in jeopardy because
individuals with strong ethics decide to pursue law suits against their employers.
One example is where the US Forest Service employees found their careers ruined
by either demotions or loss of jobs when caught speaking out in favor of the
environment or sound science, or when
What Is The Similarities Of The Fourknocks In Co. Meath
This essay aims to compare and contrast the nature of the rituals that would have
taken place at any two of the sites that we encountered on our fieldtrip. The two
megalithic sites that will be compared and contrasted in this essay will be the
passage tomb known as Fourknocks in Co. Meath and the Proleek wedge tomb in Co.
Louth. Both of these megalithic tombs characterise the majority of the Irish
landscape and are of great importance to archaeologists as they give us an insight to
the lifestyles and social structures of the societies that would have constructed these
wonderful megalithic sites.
Megalithic sites like Fourknocks and the Proleek wedge tomb are at the centre of
controversy within the archaeological profession. There is little or no doubt that
these large stone structures were erected in order to hold the remains of the dead but
archaeologists would also like to believe that there is more to these large stone
structures then just having a funerary orientated purpose (Brown, 1979). Other
purposes that could be related to these monuments include, links to the spirit world,
astronomical, directional or calendrical purposes (Brown, 1979).
Before we discuss the two megalithic sites already mentioned above we must first

low kerb of drystone surrounding it (Hartnett, 1957). What was very unusual about
this passage tomb was that there was no exterior kerb. At the centre of the tomb
there is a post hole which may suggest that there was a pole placed here either to
support the roof or it was used as a marker to indicate where the tomb was to be built
(Cooney, 1997). The main burial chamber is very spacious. When you enter this
amazing monument you feel you cross into another

Arguments Against Ferdinand Meglemorp
I have a found a few logical fallacies regarding your letter pleading me to vote
against Ferdinand Meglesmorp. First, and foremost, you state your claim with,
Ferdinand Meglesmorp is the worst candidate for governor in the history of this
state, and I can prove it. First of all, in college he was a roommate of Alex
Candlesmith, who became a serial murderer. Though Meglesmorp roommate s
actions could have influenced him, there is no outward indication that Ferdinand was
inclined to follow in his roommate s ways. You elaborate further with, Last year he
met repeatedly with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, a man who was
later found to have embezzled money from the general fund. Meglesmorp must have
put that idea in his head when
Effects of Text Messaging Among Teens
Effects of Text Messaging Among Teenagers IntroductionHow often do/did you
use your cellphone/smartphone as a teen? When I was a teen, I received my first
cellphone at the age of 15. I thought personally this was the best invention ever
created as a young teen and with that, I soon found out that I just entered a whole
new social world with these new technology devices. I entered a generation that
would be called the Tech Generation filled with cellphones/smartphones and social
media. I quickly discovered the texting function with my cellphone and started to
send texts daily to my friends. My cellphone became a necessity for me; if I did not
have my cellphone, I would freak out. In addition, I started to replace phone calls and

Cell phones have been engineered over the past years to accommodate the demand
of texting, such as offering a full 1QWERTY keyboard (QWERTY is the acronym
that commonly describes today s standard keyboard layout on English language
computers), and many cell phone carriers offer plans that contain unlimited
texting. An example of one of this cellphones/smartphone would be the ever
popular IPhone, which holds functions that enables the users to be able to call/text
/email and even use special apps that give direct access to the internet or a social
networking site. According to Lenhart, 77% of adults and 71% of teenagers
owned a cell phone and 38% of those teenagers (12 17 years old) used their phones
to text daily (30). A year later, the same survey was administered with results
increasing to 54% who text daily (30). The same survey was again administered
from the Pew Research Center by Lenhart in 2012 with the results increasing to
84% of Americans ages 12 and up owning a cell phone and 63% of teenagers saying
they exchange text messages daily (2). The problem is texting is giving teenagers the
option to avoid face to face interactions and causing teens to lose important social
skills. Fraser J.M. Reid, (Associate Head at the Centre for Thinking and Language,

Implementing New Information Technologies Can Bring
The...
Next point that I feel needs to be evaluated is Get to the market first. Being the first
one to adopt and apply new information technologies can bring the biggest positive
effect to a company. Bill Gates states that, whoever is first to use digital information
to operate business, has a great chance of putting companyahead of its competitors.
It changes the methods of handling projects as well. Building specialized groups of
employees to work on specific tasks improves productivity and also the speed of
turnover. In some cases, cultural confrontations are observed, however, consumers
realize and tolerate the necessity to move quickly to fulfill demands.
Gates points out Intel s new communication system that creates a database of ... Show

It sets up the first major commercial Internet site to develop online banking and
becomes the main system of accessing Internet. It eventually contributes to retain
customer loyalty.
In my opinion, the decision of getting first to market comes with great risk. That is to
say, it requires a large amount of investment and time. It also affects revenue and in
most cases, it puts company s security in danger. Moreover, the idea of first movers
are the winners, is not always true. Second movers can actually benefit more than
the first movers. We can look at online bookstore giant amazon.com, as an
example. Before Amazon was launched in 1995, there was an already established
large online bookstore books.com by Book Stacks unlimited1. However, amazon
overcame the books.com and became the biggest on the market in a short period.
The reason is, the first movers have to spend more time and money on research and
development, also educate the public about the new scheme. Second movers can
learn from the mistakes of the first movers and avoid excessive cost on R D and
public education.
The next point that should be addressed is Middle man must add value . According to
Gates, Internet and technology change everything, including the role of middleman
businesses. Indeed, disintermediation is unavoidable; unless they add value to their
goods and services they transfer.
The main problem with middleman job is anybody can easily do it. It does not

Analyze the manner in which PharmaCARE used U.S. law to protect its own
intellectual property and if John has any claim to being the true inventor of AD23.
John was not the sole creator of AD23 and, therefore, could not claim intellectual
property rights. He was a part of a research team that developed the new formulation
of the drug as part of his job function and did not solely develop AD23 on his own.
Similarly, if an engineer creates things for a company, that business will own all
rights to all of it. AD23 was not a project that John was working on by himself and
there were not any agreements or contracts stating otherwise, thus, AD23 is the
property of the organization. PharmaCARE does not need to compensate for John s

giving a percentage of the profit to him. His assistance with the drug helped boost
the drug s popularity and profit. John did receive a bonus and this could be viewed

National Student Debt
RESOLUTION ANALYSIS
Background of Controversy: As the cost of education is on the rise students and their
parents are trying to come up with the money to go to college. The usual steps are to
seek grants from the government, private organizations, and from organizations setup
through the colleges themselves. There are also loans that are made through the
private sector and those from government based organizations. Some students go as
far as trying to pay for college using credit cards. In the end students seeking higher
education graduate with enormous debt, creating a larger burden on the economy and
those struggling to pay off these bills. If the situation concerning the national student

Grounds B1: A summary of President Barack Obama s speech presented by
Christopher Hass, President Obama on Higher Education and Reforming Student
Loans, published in April 2009 by My.BarackObama.com, There are few things as
fundamental to the American Dream or as essential for America s success as a
good education. This has never been more true than it is today. At a time when our
children are competing with kids in China and India, the best job qualification you
can have is a college degree or advanced training. If you do have that kind of
education, then you re well prepared for the future because half of the fastest
growing jobs in America require a Bachelor s degree or more. And if you don t have
a college degree, you re more than twice as likely to be unemployed as somebody
who does. So the stakes could not be higher for young people like Stephanie.
And yet, in a paradox of American life, at the very moment it s never been more
important to have a quality higher education, the cost of that kind of that kind of
education has never been higher. Over the
The Potential Effectiveness Of The Digital Economy Act
tExplain the potential effectiveness of the Digital Economy Act in preventing
infringement of copyright.
This essay discusses the usefulness of the Digital Economy Act (the 2010 Act) in
preventing infringement of copyright. The essay will start off discussing the
provisions which imposed ISPs to stop individuals from infringing copyright.
Followed by analysing the 2010 Act which caused widespread controversy and
outrage in the United Kingdom. Moreover, my intention is to ascertain whether it has
been effective since its implementation. Also, I will briefly outline the key provisions
relating to infringement of copyright. I will consequently restrict comments to some
copyright related issues, concentrating on peer to peer file sharing over the Internet.
Thirdly, practical examples will be given to evaluate the DEA. Using legislation,
case law and journal articles I will present my findings.
Copyright
Copyright does not protect the idea but the independent expression of the idea. In
contrast to patents, copyright does not create monopolies. Instead, it allows the
creator to benefit from the copyright for a period of time and prevent others taking
advantage of their efforts. The Copyright Designs and Patents Act stipulates the
works which is protected. There are certain requirements which must be met before
copyright is granted. Firstly, it must fall into the category of works and must be
original. Originality means the intellectual creation comes from the creator and has

The film The Legend of Bagger Vance, based on the novel of the same name by
Steven Pressfield, is a movie that transports the philosophical Hindu text, the
Bhagavad Gita, from a celebrated battlefield, approximately during the 4th century
BCE, in India to a fictional southern golf course in Savannah, Georgia during the
Great Depression. The predominant theme of dharma (or duty) is a major point that
both these works focus on. The Legend of Bagger Vance is told from the point of
view of Harvey Greaves, an old man reminiscing about a legendary golftournament
that was held in Savannah during his youth. The story begins with Greaves as an old
man having his fifth heart attack while he is on a golf course. He goes onto explain his

A Bildungsroman In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet
A Bildungsroman is a novel in which the psychological and moral aspects of the
main character develop. Such is the case with Hester Prynne from Nathaniel
Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter. Hester Prynne is a young and beautiful lady who
is married to an old scholar, Roger Chillingworth. He sends Hester to live in the
New World while he finishes off his affairs in Europe. While Chillingworth remains
in Europe, Hester has an illicit affair with Arthur Dimmesdale, a clergyman. When
Chillingworth finally arrives in America, he finds Hester standing on a scaffold
with a child in her arms, wearing a bright red A on her chest, being punished for
adultery; he craves for revenge. The original purpose of the scarlet letter A is to serve
as a punishment... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the next seven years, Hester helps the people of the Puritan society by
sewing clothes and donating them to the poor. However, the people appreciated
her help but never gave her the respect she deserved. In Chapter XIII Another View
of Hester, Hawthorne writes, They said that it meant Able; so strong was Hester
Prynne, with a woman s strength. (167) which explicitly states the new meaning of
the letter Therefore the people finally recognize her contribution to the society, She
was self ordained a Sister of Mercy; or, we may rather say, the world s heavy hand
had so ordained her,... Such helpfulness was found in her, so much power to do, and
power to sympathize, that many people refused to interpret the scarlet A by its
original signification. (167). It is an interesting use of diction by Hawthorne when he
uses the word refused, because it suggests that the people deliberately choose to not
interpret the letter as a punishment but rather as a shorthand for able. Thus, the the
meaning of the scarlet letter changes from a punishment for adultery to a symbol of
strength, and Hester changes from a proud young lady to a generous and helpful

Australia is experiencing a true predicament. Australians feel that the nation does not
have a clear nation identity. This failure to do so has left the country in a state of
discontent. If a national identity is an idea constructed by modern nation states to
identify real or imagined commonalities in order to unite a population (Flayhive
2007). Australiais missing a national identity, as the country has yet to construct its
own national identity. This lack of a clear national identity can largely be attributed
to the youth of the country. The youth of the country and lack of a recognisable
national identity does not mean Australia does not have one. The country s national
identity comes from the shared core values and experiences of the... Show more

A clear national identity leads to a strong sense of national pride and patriotism
(Hauss 2003), which in turn leads to higher rates of happiness, cohesion and stability
among the country s inhabitants (Write and Reeskens 2011). A lack of a clear
national identity causes displaced people to quickly become isolated in a new
homeland, as the country was unable to present the displaced person with a sense of
belonging. This sense of belonging is something more than just residence or vague
opportunity or even welfare benefits, (Daley 2007). Without a clear national identity,
a country while not necessarily in a state of active distress does feel slightly uneasy at
the thought of having nothing clear and tangible to show to not only the inhabitants
of the country, but also the world. Australia is one such country; the country has not
invented a clear national identity. A national identity is just an invention; it is an
important invention that symbolises a country and everything it stands for. In order
to signify her growth as a nation, Australia needs to invent a clear national identity
that all Australians can feel proud standing behind.
Australia s lack of a clear national identity can largely be attributed to the country s
youth as a nation. The country only officially became a united nation in 1901 after
federation. Australia is a young country that is
The Social Media Of Adidas
Adidas was founded in the early years of 1924, at that time it bared the name
Gebruder Dassler Schuhfabrik. Its founder was named Adolf Dassler he was a
German by origin. The company mainly dealt with the design and manufacture of
sporting shoes, clothing and accessories. Adidas is the largest company in Europe.
It has companies under it, these companies are: Reebok, Taylor made Adidas Golf
Company, a piece of Bayern Munich and Runstatic. Adidas mainly uses social
media for marketing purposes as every other big brand, company and small
entrepreneurs do. What brings the difference in how known Adidas is than other
companies is how they go about their social media marketing. Adidas seems to
have done some a lot of research on how and where to fetch their customers. An
example is how they are excelling in Facebook; Adidas has about 13 million fans.
Using these platforms they give their fans information about their products and an
easy way to purchase any of their items. Adidas also catches the eye of their
followers on instagram by uploading graphics that attract their customers to want to
buy their products. These graphics are like shoes that have been well photographed
and edited, what else can a buyer look for; Adidas ensure all eyes are on them.

Comparing To his Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell and To his Mistress Going to
Bed by John Donne
In recent times I have compared and contrasted two pieces of love poetry, both of
which are exceptionally lyrical and full of intellectual language that bring the poems
alive with elaborated metaphors that compare dissimilar things, as they Inare equally,
yet somehow individually both metaphysical poems. The first of these poems that I
comprehended was To his Coy Mistress; (written by Andrew Marvellduring the 17th
century), it reflects the epic of a man who is striving to entice a unadulterated woman
into going to bed with him; he does this by using a lot of romantic flattery and surreal
imagery, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perhaps the most famous of Marvell s lyrics is To His Coy Mistress : Like many
of Marvell s best poems, it masks extraordinary subtlety and complexity beneath a
surface of smooth and deceptively simple octosyllabic couplets. It is, in fact, as
perfect an example of the metaphysical mode as anything by Donne and, for all its
cool and witty tone, and passionate lyrics.
John Donne, (1572 1631) is considered the greatest of all metaphysical poets. Donne
was educated at Oxford, Cambridge and Lincoln s Inn. His works of this period,
included some of his songs, sonnets (written as late as 1617), problems and
paradoxes, which consisted of cynical, realistic and often sexual lyrics, essays and
verse satires. Donne s court career was ruined by the discovery of his marriage in
1601 to Anne More and we also imprisoned for a short time; later in 1601, his
poems became a lot more serious. After a long period of financial uncertainty and
desperation, during which he was twice a member of Parliament, Donne yielded to
the wishes of King James I and took orders in 1625. Two years later his wife died. He
was made reader in divinity at Lincoln s inn, a royal chaplain, and in 1621 Dean of
St. Paul , a position he held until his death.
Society in these time periods where very rigorous towards the issue of wedlock and
divorce; the community would disapprove and condemn it very reprehensibly, and

Immigration Debate Summary
Summary: Donald Trump has given his support on a proposed bill that aims to cut
the number of U.S. immigrants in half. Within five years, he plans to drastically cut
down on legal immigration to the U.S. and base entry to the country on language
ability, beneficial job skills, and education. Consequently, immigrants make up for
approximately half the population growth in the U.S. There are already labor
shortages happening in the country, and the situation could worsen rather quickly.
The co founder of Macroeconomic Advisers, Joel Prakken, states that the economy
should see at least a two percent growth each year, but a decrease is already expected
if immigrationslows. Since the U.S. population is aging and immigrants are usually

He wanted to cut immigration down to provide more opportunities for Americans,
but he is also slowing down economic growth. Additionally, with the decrease in
immigrants, it shortens the amount of workers needed for some countries and forces
them to outsource, which is something the Trump administration is not necessarily
in compliance with. I think it is pretty ignorant to deny legal immigrants entry into
the country, emphasizing the word legal . It is embarrassing to know that Trump
never considered to research how impactful immigrants are to economic growth. I
do not think that this bill should grow through simply because of the facts
presented not having immigrants in our country will decrease economic growth
significantly. In the past two weeks, the White House seems like it has been falling
apart; Trump has lost staff members, has had private phone call transcripts
publicized, and has been caught on multiple lies. There are no other countries that
are reported to have denied legal immigrants entry to their country. There is,
however, a rich history of the U.S. not allowing immigrants to enter the country. I
do not believe that this bill is a good idea and I hope that it does not get passed
because it would prove to be detrimental for the labor force and economic growth in

most common rashes that children have. It is important for staff to conduct a daily
health check on all children upon entering the facility, which includes checking for
rashes. Young children do not have developed immune systems they are more likely
to develop illnesses. These children are more likely to be in close contact with each
other and use their hands to wipe their faces thus spreading infection. Health checks
help reduce the transmission of infectious diseases in children by identifying and
isolating the infected child. The problem the daycare workers face is there
The Fed s Inflation
Though it may seem like great to have money flowing through our economic system,
the government also needs to concern itself with inflation. If the Fed provides too
much stimulus to the economy and triggers inflation, prices will rise above the
inflation target that the Fed has already set. During inflationary periods the
purchasing power of the dollar is failing. Consumers buy to avoid higher future
prices. This increases demand, which positively affects the need for additional labor,
however, businesses raise prices due to their inability to meet requirements and based
upon their supply cost. With the Fed s intention to keep long term interest rate
moderate, prices stable and unemployment to a minimum the long term goals of

Examples Of Hester Prynne Transformation
The Scarlet Letter: The Transformation of Hester Prynne Throughout The Scarlet
Letter written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, there is a tremendous transformation
shown in the protagonist, Hester Prynne. This novel was about how Hester had

clothing was to remind her every day of her wrong doing and to leave Hester living
in guilt for the rest of her life. Hester then spends the next years of her life being an
outcast from society with her daughter, who was the outcome of the terrible sin she

Nt1310 Unit 4 Lab Report
Analysis For the first part of the lab, our goal was to calculate the time constant, пЃґ,
of an RC circuit. We made an RC series circuit and connected it to the Rigol wave
generator to produce a square waveform for current. Then, we collected data of the
voltage across the capacitor at different points in time using a myDAQ and the
4BL application. In order to find the time constant, we linearized the voltage we
measured across the capacitor and then performed a linear regression on the data.
The equation for the voltage across the capacitor as a function of time is: V_c
(t)=V_b (1 e^(( t)/RC) ) where V_c (t) is the voltage across the capacitor as a
function of time and V_b is the input voltage. We then linearize the data by

Looking at the values for resonance frequency we got from both methods, at first
glance it appears that the second method is more accurate. However, in order to
better compare the two methods, we can calculate the percent error from the
theoretical value for the resonant frequency. The formula for percent error is: percent
error=| (experimental value accepted value)/(accepted value) | Г— 100 We get that
the percent error for method 1 is 19.3% and the percent error for method 2 is 1.2%.
This affirms that the method 2 is the more accurate method to measure the resonant
frequency. This may be due to the fact that method 1 involves using estimations by
eye, which allows for human error and inaccurate estimations. The difference
between the experimental and theoretical values for the resonant frequency could
also result from faulty equipment, which may not function as the manufacturer
claims or be worn down by natural decay. Lastly using the theoretical value for the
RLC circuit and Equation 2, we calculate a Q factor of Q=0.19. This low Q factor
indicates that the peak of the curve is not very sharp and there could have been
overdamping, which potentially increases the error in reading the resonant frequency,
especially for the reading by

What is Branding?
Branding is most commonly known as a form of marketing practice that links a
company s product and services to cultural meanings. According to Rashid (2012),
brands have become one of the most discussed phenomena of marketing research in
recent years. Brands are not simply a symbol on a product or a mere graphic but a
company s signature on constantly renewed creative process that yields various
products. While products can live and disappear, the brand remains alive. The
consistency of this creative process is what gives a brand its meaning and
characters. Logos have also become an increasingly important element of a brand in
today s mass market economy as a means of differentiation. Logos are the first step
for any marketing as it is the face of the brand. According to Stahle (2002), logos help
companies distinguish themselves from their competitors when there are so many
product choices for consumers as they
Essay Difference Between Italian And French Baroque...
Difference Between Italian And French Baroque Architecture
Baroque is the name given to the art of the 17th century. But the baroque style, like
all other styles in the history of art, began gradually. It started in the latter part of the
16th century and continued to be used well into the 18th century.
Baroque can be defied as the florid, ornate style characterizing fine arts in Europe
from the middle 16th to middle 18th centuries. The main characteristic of the baroque
architecture is movement. Architects wanted their buildings to be exciting and to give
the impression of activity.
They did this by making dramatic contrasts of light and shadow and by using curved
shapes.

The three most important and notable baroque architects in France in the 17th century
were Jacques Lemercier (1580/5 1654), a man who was a master of delicate elegant
line and graceful silhouettes which he ingeniously combined with forceful mass. He
was most noted for his work on the Church of the Sorbonne. Next is Francois Mansart
(1598 1666), a man who s exteriors and interiors, composed with scrupulous purity
and infinite stability, make him in architecture the cornerstone of French Baroque
Classicism. He was best known for his work on the Ste Marie de la Visitation and
Chateau of Blois. Finally Louis
Levau (1612 1670), a man who emphasized on terraced, parterres, pools, fountains,
all to provide an axial relationship to his work. He was best known for his work on
the Chateau and Gardens of Vaux le Vicomte and

The wide variety of expression inherent in the Baroque can be best understood by
examining the works of Italians
Francesco Borromini (1599 1666), Guarino Guarini (1624 1683) and Giovanni
Lorenzo Bernini (1598 1680). Francesco in many ways, was the spiritual father of
Guarini. Born in Canton Ticino in the Alps, he went to
Rome where he stayed his whole life. Suspicious, moody, and dedicated, he, almost
fanatical in his pursuit of perfection, carefully supervised all the stages of his design.

British Perspective On The War Essay
World War II, for must people, comes with particular interests or focuses. My

There is voluminous literature for the period 1937 1941 focusing on political,
diplomatic, and economic issues, but none focus on Britain quite like Todman does.

There have been many books written about World War II, and Britain s War does a
good, albeit slow, job of giving the reader insight into what World War II was like
for Britain before the United States entered. We see the complex drama that unfolds
between British and American leaders, as well as gain understanding of the
dynamics between Germany and the Royal Legislative. Todman wants to join
together histories that are normally told separately. As readers go through this work,
they will see that Todman focused on England as part of a global system, and he
puts together strategic, military, cultural, political, economic and social histories that
are generally reported independently. Britain s resilience and survival during this
unique time in world history is so complex and broad based that Todman is able to
research and weave together a compelling narrative. The book is almost
overwhelming in its vastness of information, and to some, the military aspects might
be heavily contextualized. Todman communicates that the conflict between Britain
and their enemies is rooted back in the 1930s, but we are shown that before 1941,
this war was a global one. The book is broken into parts for easier consumption, Part

The Evolution of Total Quality Management
The Evolution of Total Quality Management
A useful way to begin to understand the evolution of TQM is to link it to show how
the industrial world was developing at the time TQM was evolving.
Until the industrial revolution in the mid 18th century, most goods were custom
made. Industrialisation brought about a fundamental shift from cottage industry
production to large scale manufacturing. Simultaneously, industrial activity underwent
extensive mechanisation. As explained by Ho, craftsmen were diminishing and
being replaced by mass production and repetitive work practices. The aim with the
new industrial era was to produce large numbers of the same product which required
processes to be put in place to control quality as it could not be ... Show more content

So gradually, during the post war years (as Cali explains) ... a sea change began
taking place in American management philosophy. as managers began to understand
that work of employees needed to be acknowledged and that workers needed to be
consulted if quality was to be improved.
In Deming s book Out of the Crisis he explains in his fourteen principles that
inspection is not the way forward if a businesses is to ensure quality. He says Cease
dependence on inspection to achieve quality. Eliminate the need for massive
inspection by building quality into the product in the first place
It is around the time that we begin to see the emergence of quality assurance with
more emphasis focused on the training and development of staff, recording of data
and the accuracy in which things were measured. Brown et all describes how In the
1980s, leading edge corporations sparked a revolution as they implemented Total
Quality programmes across entire organisations. In such a programme the
responsibility for quality is with the whole workforce. Each employee is responsible
for the quality of their own job, their own actions. It could be said that responsibility
for quality lies with 100% of the workforce.
Another TQM guru, Joseph Juran also influenced the thinking at this time by
promoting the need for education and training in the

The Logical Problem Of Evil Essay
In this paper I will discuss the logical problem of evil and how it seems to reject the
existence of God as an omni 3 being. I will first layout the logical problem of evil,
and then I will explain why it succeeds in disproving the existence of God. I do this
through pointing out the contradictions between the definition of Godas an omni 3
being and the problem of redeemed and unredeemed evil. As well as by proving
that admittance of evil in any way when in reference to the choices of God
invalidates the omni 3 definition of God. I will address claims from those who
believe in God about justification of evil as well as the concept and depth of human
understanding.
The logical problem of evil is almost as old as the concept of an omni 3 being as the
one true God. God in this context being a mix of the Judeo Christian belief that God
is the Greatest Conceivable Being (GCB). Being the GCB implies 3 things: God is all
good (Omnibenevolent), all knowing (Omniscient), and all powerful (Omnipotent),
this is commonly referred to as omni 3. This argument boils down to a simple three
part argument structure:
1. If God, as an omni 3 being, exists then evil can not exist at all.
2. Evil clearly exists.
3. As a result, God as omni 3 can not exist.
This is a very simple argument; premise, interference, implied contradiction, and a
conclusion. It is simply through an application of modus ponens that, some believe,
we are able to disprove the existence of God as an Omni 3 being.
Education And Academic Achievement Gap
Anna, a young first grader, squeals with delight as the whistle blows to announce
the end of recess. What may seem as a sad end to the best part of the day for most
students fills Anna with complete joy. Why? Anna is on the way to her favorite
class music. Anna enjoys it because she likes to sing, but what she does not know is
that the class that she enjoys the most is also extremely beneficial to her academic
and social life. Sadly, for many students, art classes are not commonly offered due to
cost or the perception that art educationis unimportant. Although seen as less
important than core subjects, art education should be a part of basic curriculum
because of its academic and social benefits for students. Many people believe that
schools should focus on excelling on standardized testing, such as state tests and
college entrance exams, and lowering the academic achievement gap. After all, these
examinations are major factors in students future decisions and schools academic
success greatly affects their overall achievement. Focusing on standardized testing is
important; however, basic courses such as English, mathematics, and science are not
the only subjects that are beneficial when preparing for these tests. In a study
prepared by the President s Committee on the Artsand Humanities (PCAH), arts
integration focused schools were followed over a three year timespan and it was
found that they had reduced the reading gap by fourteen percent and the mathematics

Analysis Of Steve Smulka Paints Glass
Steve Smulka paints glass but it might be more accurate to say that Smulka paints
light. Smulka uses mason jars, vintage seltzer bottles, wine decanters, vases and water
pitchers to capture the way light bends, refracts, illuminates, and distorts its
surroundings. In some of the paintings, backgrounds of looming clouds and ridged
tree bark are as in focus as the glass containers in the foreground, merging the two in a
poetic, scrupulously accurate, yet slightly unreal manner. In other paintings, bottles in
columns two, three, or four deep create multiple layers of transparency that make for
almost abstract studies of light and color. In Steve Smulka s closely observed,
meditative paintings, these densely luminous layers give weight to the

Conclusion
Online office software isn t likely to completely replace traditional installed office

Microsoft s affordable nonprofit pricing.
The new web apps feature in Office 2010bring the Microsoft Office suite

For small or new organizations, though, the collaboration features and lack of

organizations rely on Microsoft Office for their day to day work, but use one of the
online tools for documents that require a lot of input from a number of different

Late in 2010, Microsoft released it Office 365, which is an online application that
may one day compete with Google Docs. They have introduced
Color Of Fire Research Paper
Did you know that there are certain chemicals that can color a fire? Well, that s
what my topic is about. There are many chemicals that can turn things into a
different color. There will be chemicals used for this experiment and will turn the
fire into a range of colors. First, there are many chemicals and subatomic particles
involved in the testing. A few things involved are atoms, flame photometry, photons,
and many more. All of those things affect the test and how the results will come out.
Everything involved plays a very important role in how the results turn out and how
the experiment is tested. Second of all, atoms play the biggest role in the whole
entire project. The reason why is because they are made with positively charged
nuclei.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Atoms play a big role because when they go back to their ground state they emit
photons. Photons also play a big role, but without atoms we wouldn t have
photons. Flame photometry is also a huge thing, it detects the routine of metal
salts. Now, let s talk about absorption and emission lines. Absorption lines are often
superimposed on a colored continuum. (Same website as spectral lines) Absorption
lines are also a result of specific wavelengths being absorbed along the line of sight.
Emission lines are sort of the opposite, they appear as discrete colored lines that are
most commonly on a black background. These lines correspond to specific
wavelengths of light emitted by an object.
Next, chemicals and color. How can certain chemicals turn fire into a color? Well, any
element placed into or within a fire will change the color. Quantum mechanics and
orbitals are a couple things that are also involved in the process. Quantum
mechanics constrains them to appear in various distinct patterns which are also
called orbitals. Orbitals are a lot like planetary orbits, but blurrier, so you will never
really be sure on where the electrons
Why Do Dog Sneezing
Dog Sneezing
By Tim Delaney
Jan 4, 2013
Are you concerned about your dogs constant sneezing? If your dog is sneezing, it s
not always a reason for concern. Dog sneezing is often a natural reaction to
particles, pollen, or some other irritant in the dog s nasal membranes. Sneezing is
not always due to allergies or sickness; however, if your dog is suffering from an
illness like kennel cough (Bordetella) or some other bronchial infection, then you
should consider putting your pet on all natural pet health supplements, which can help
support healthy respiratory function in your dog. One product that has proven to be
an excellent solution to dog sneezing, is called Ox E Drops.
There are two types of dog sneezing activities. There is the normal involuntary
reaction to foreign bodies in the dog s membrane that cause the dog just like
humans to sneeze as a natural reaction to remove the irritant; there is also a natural
voluntary habit called Reverse Sneezing. This is a normal activity that dogs will
use voluntarily to remove a discomfort from their nasal passage or throat. This is
akin to the habit of gagging. Pet owners often see their dog gag as if they are about
to vomit this is not always the case gagging is a normal function (in most cases it s a
voluntary activity) to remove discomfort or irritants from the throat. ... Show more

In contrast, Reverse Sneezing looks like a sucking in of the lips accompanied with a
shaking of the head motion (these are not the only symptoms or reverse sneezing but
the most common symptoms). If your dog s sneezing symptoms appear more serious,
or, are accompanied by other symptoms or signs of illness, owners should take their
pets to the veterinarian for further
Hidden Intellectualism In Hidden Intellectualism
Night s darkness of room is cut by a bright kaleidoscope of a rectangular light from
the monitor. A girl sits in front of the display with a fluffy owl on it in large
headphones and quietly talking with the people behind the screen. Suddenly, a
door opens up with yelling Turn this off and go do your homework! Stop wasting
your time, stupid! This sad scene is familiar to many people all around the world:
parents often think that games are useless time killers and that teens do not get
anything from it that could be used in the academic world. Despite the widespread
opinion, it is not true. In fact, video games are one of many other non academic
interests which make people so called street smart and it is largely underestimated
intelligence. One example of such games actively played worldwide is World of
Warcraft(WoW). In the game, a person chooses a character among many classes and
goes to explore the world kills monsters, accomplishes achievements, and investigates
stories of thousands of non playable characters. All the activities help a playerto
develop qualities which are useful in the real world both academically and not.
Some writers also investigate the theme of underrating of street smarts. One of them
is a professor of English and education at the University of Illinois at Chicago Gerald
Graff. In his essay Hidden Intellectualism Graff highlights that schools fail to employ
street smart people and turn the quality into academic intelligence, plus,
The Economic Problem of Population Ageing Essay
In the contemporary world, the economic problem of population ageing caused is
revealing gradually. UNESCO provides a standard that a single country or region in
the population over 60 years is more than 10% of the total population, which is into
the aging of the population. Both of developed and developing countries in recent
years have to face more serious agingimpacts for economic progress. According to
population prospects (2009), the whole world will accelerate the pace of ageingafter
2010. More precisely, share of elderly people is 22% in rich countries and 8% in
poorer countries, whereas these figures will rise to 33% and 20%, respectively. Why
does aging become a problem? The U.S. Census study points out that the worldwide

Consequently, in serious countries, some jobs will lack of employees to carry out.
Secondly, in order to promptly resolve the shortage of labour caused by ageing, many
countries have extended the time of retirement of the elderly. To illustrate, China
plans to start gradually raise the retirement age from 60 to 65 from 2010. However,
this approach may give rise to many controversies. Provided that the retire time to
be late, civil servants will support this resolution. As a consequence, a number of
university graduates will more difficult to find a job, and some laid off workers will
face delayed pensions; therefore, that government need to consider a wide ranges of
citizen interests.
Lastly, Skirbekk of the International Institute (The Economist, 2009, p.10),
researched the relationship between age and personal productivity, reached that
productivity in various job descends gradually in middle age. As a common sense,
when people reach middle age, health and intelligence will begin to decline; thus the
production efficiency of the elderly will not be better than young. Particularly, in the
use of high tech skills, the old usually lose young; thus employers may think that the
elderly will affect the productivity of workers. The Economist (2009 , p10) put
forward a solution that let active young and experienced old man work together

The Micro marketing environment plays an important and crucial role in Mac s line
of success.
The Company:
A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for
them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products
in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.
Steve Jobs, Apple CEO amp; Founder
The sales of Mac had hit bottom line in 1996 (APPENDIX A). Lower sales
increased inventory. Apple was on the verge of being bankrupt. In 1997, Apple
reduced their inventory and started making major investments in the R amp;D
department to focus on developing innovative products that would appeal to
consumers. Apple also acquired Jobs owned software company, NeXT. Apple
developers modified the Unix based code from NEXTSTEP and combined it with
the graphical user interface of existing Mac OS. The result was a stable, high
performance operating system that had the stability of Unix and the intuitive
interface of the Macintosh. Apple s iMac was distinguished because it could act as a
hub for controlling and integrating the digital devices such as cameras, portable
music and mobile phones.
Intermediaries:
It s better to be a pirate than to join the Navy.
Steve Jobs, Apple CEO amp; Founder
Apple realized the power of direct marketing and launched their online shopping
website. This website showcased their new designed and high performing iMac. This
Causes Of The Great Recession
The Great Recession of 2008 hit The United States and the rest of the world with a
force not seen since the Great Depression less than a century ago. December of
2007 saw an unemployment rate of 5.7% as the economy was rolling forward on
the back of the high profiled housing market funded by aggressive loans to
consumers with sub par credit. (National Bureau of Economic Research) This
created a proverbial House of Cards that fell apart that same month and over the
course of two years; the unemployment rate would nearly double as The United States
would lose over 8 million jobs according the National Bureau of Economics. The
cause of The Great Recession can t simply be quantified to just one person, agency or
company. However, in the broad... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shortly after the implementation of the original act in 1933, Senator Glass
removed support for part of his own bill due to a study done in that same decade.
The research concluded that securities underwritten by non commercial banks
suffered the same consequences as those wrote by commercial banks prior to 1933;
thus causing unnecessary harm to an already strained market. His revision to Section
16, which prohibited commercial banks from trading in non government securities,
to once again have the ability to underwrite risky speculative securities. This
amendment passed through the Senate, but was ultimately killed in the
Congressional process due to a lack of support from President Roosevelt. Glass is
not the only opposition the bill saw before it s repel in 1999. Another adamant
opponent to Glass Steagall has been former President Bill Clinton. It was during this
administration that Laurence H. Summers was appointed as Treasury Secretary.
Summers then fought for deregulation of the financial safeguards set in place by
Glass Steagall and praised Congress when its replacement, the Gramm Leach Bliley
Act, shifted through. Summer s and Clinton s criticism, however; is not without a
solid standing or reason. The G S Act allowed banks to face tougher competition from
unregulated retail and consumer stores that began to offer a line
Physique Competitive Pros
I m not perfect. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to competing in physique
competitions. Thankfully, I continue to pick up tips on how to best present myself in

myself to continue to improve.
I can t sit back and assume that I will always be in the top tier of these competitions
unless I find ways to better myself again and again. Thanks to this knowledge, I am
now sharing my tips for peak week or the final week before a physique competition.
I m sure every person wanting to take part in an event of this type will benefit from
one or more of these tips, if not all of them.

Make sure you are avoiding simple carbohydrates and taking in healthy ones, such as
healthy grains. Now is not the time to be snacking on your favorie salty food.
Having said that, be sure to pack a simply carbohydrate snack for the day of the
event. This snack needs to be consumed just before the event to obtain the best
results. Don t overlook this simple step, and you ll see how eating this snack
benefits you when the winners are announced. Any foods that may produce gas or
lead to bloat need to be avoided. This includes healthy foods, such as cabbage,
broccoli and beans. In addition to altering your appearance, the consumption of these
items can lead to you feeling less than your best and this will show during the event.
I have used these tips with great success in physique competitions and I am sure
they will be of help to you also. Be sure to browse my entire site to obtain
additional information on how to succeed in events of this type. I know how great
it is to take top honors in a competition and would love to see you be able to do the
same. Every time I do, I feel a great sense of pride, as I am bettering myself. It s not
the attention that I may receive or any funds I may bring in. It s all about me and
how far I have come. You ll love how you feel after an event of this type also, and

A Personal Note On Negations Skills
Introduction:
As the business world becomes increasingly dynamic; no longer restricted within
borders and boundaries, it now intertwines like a spiders web in many ways, whilst
content changes take place at an increasing pace; spurred primarily by
globalization, increased economic volatility, the internet boom and constant
innovations. To thrive in this increasingly dynamic environment, a leader must
have a multitude of diverse skills. One vital skill that is key in this ever evolving
world of ours is, good negations skills. Negations skills are not only useful in one s
profession, however they are used on a daily basis. May it be negotiating with your
children, partner/spouse or the rest of your family s member, negations skills are very

A sales representative approached us, we advised him of what we are interested
in. We sat down and started discussing what we wanted as extras and started the
negotiation process. My husband did his research prior to coming into the
showroom and had an idea of what would ideally be a good price for this vehicle.
The showroom Pilot, had everything we were looking for, from colour to all of
the extras. Our kids started getting restless, there is just so much fun to be had in
pretending to drive a car. As I went to entertain them, my father in law and husband
took over the negations (this is never a good combination). My father in law, who
is East Indian, even though he has spent over 30 plus years in Canada, still
negotiates as if he was still in India. Our sales person was also from India.
My father in law started with the lowball tactic (Lewicki, Saunders Barry, 2014),
which was a price that was ridiculously low. The sales person then took that offer to
his manager, he returned with a counter offer that was about five hundred dollars
less than the listed price. This back and forth continued for quite some time. The
kids were getting even more restless, I advised that we should leave now and come
back some other time without the kids. The sales associate, became more aggressive
and started with the snow job tactic (Lewicki, Saunders Barry, 2014), inundating both
my husband and father in law with information that was
Symbols In Beowulf
Symbolism as a Means of Characterization When studying classical literature a
frequent topic of review is the various themes present throughout both similar and
dissimilar works. One such theme is symbolism, i.e. the use of a representative item
or object to present a quality, ideal, or abstract idea that is unrelated to its literal
meaning. Perhaps one of the most important aspects of symbolism in literature, then,
is the way that it can display individual characters defining characteristic(s). In the
epic Beowulf, Beowulf volunteers to kill Grendel (an action which will ultimately
lead to his death). His defining characteristics are honor, loyalty and bravery. ...; alone

In The Pardoner s Tale , however, Chaucer use of symbolism is less than subtle
(perhaps because he was well known for his dislike of corruption within the church).
Superficially, the character of the Pardoner is a clergyman, one who literally sells
salvation, yet his tale unambiguously preaches that greed/covetousness is wicked
enough to lead to death. It seems more mocking than satirical that his defining
characteristic is
Causes And Failures Of Hurricane Katrina
Katrina Failures
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, multiple failures exposed communication
breakdowns, roles and responsibilities. Civil unrest followed after local law
enforcement, abandoned their legal duties. Historically, the Posse Comitatus Act
created barriers. These barriers slowed down the response of federal support. The
President and governor struggled over control of the National Guard. The city of
New Orleans suffered economically and through loss of life. With the pullout of the
police, they fell into a different category that called for implantation of martial law
using an outside policing force. The actions of Governor Blanco are ill prepared at
most. Post Katrina in Louisiana was painfully obvious as the total failure of state and
federal government s anger looms towards the revision of an outdated law.
Actions
The Posse Comitatus Act says that Whoever, except in cases and under
circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress,
willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a Posse Comitatus or
otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more
than two years, or both. (Added Aug. 10, 1956, ch. 1041, В§ 18(a), 70A Stat. 626;

The General Public s View Of African American Athletes
Essay
For my future study I would like to research how these articles effects the general
public s view of African American athletes. I would do this by surveying groups of
classrooms, students around campus, and showing them athletes. I would show them
both African American athletes and White Athletes. I would ask them how they feel
about these athletes, why they feel this way about them, and what have they heard
about them in the media. After collecting this data, and gathering my conclusion from
it, I would like to go back and do another survey. I would go to classrooms of students
and show them positive media and tell them the good things that African American
athletes have done. I would give them the same survey asking how the feel about
these athletes, why they feel this way, and what they have heard about them in the
media. To further explore this belief future research would have to be conducted that
tested and compared subjects racial attitudes toward both a positive and a negative
television portrayal of African Americans. In attempts to further examine racial
attitudes and media portrayals, this same study could be done with the addition of a
pre test that evaluates media portrayals as being either negative or positive. In
addition, future research could expose subjects to repeated treatments or media of
African American athletes. I feel this research would be different because it would
look at the effects from positive portrayals of African American athletes, and
Michel Rolle Research Paper
Michel Rolle Michel Rolle was born on April 21, 1652, into a struggling family in
Ambert, Basse Auvergne (a province in France at the time). Rolle s father was a
lowly shopkeeper and couldn t support his family by himself. For this reason, Rolle
left his educational aspirations shortly after elementary school and began to help
support his family. He began working as a transcriber for a notary and then worked
as an assistant to several attorneys in the district around his home town. He did this
while self educating himself in order to work towards a better life for himself and
his family. Rolle moved to Paris in 1675 and worked as a scribe and arithmetical
expert, which led to Rolle teaching himself higher level mathematics. Rolle wasted no

growing family. Shortly after, he accepted a job requiring him to tutor François
Michel le Tellier s, the French Secretary of State for War, fourth son. Rolle went
above and beyond in this job and resulted in him being offered an administrative
post in the Ministry of War, but Rolle disliked the work and soon resigned. In 1685,
Rolle was elected to the AcadГ©mie Royale des Sciences and the impressive
mathematical work he produced following his election led him to be a renowned

Ski Racing Research Paper
If the average person was asked what ski racing is they would respond with either a
blank look or refer to the olympics. They might be able to explain the idea or throw
around some famous skiers names. Most likely they would just ponder the question
and not really have a clue what ski racing entails. When I tell people I did alpine ski
racing in high school they give me looks of shock. Most people do not even realize
that it is a high school sport. Growing up in the mountains though it was always on

  • 2. A Farmer Is Reliable And Hard Working And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, I need a caretaker. So God made a farmer. A farmer is someone who can multitask. He can work long hours, raise livestock, till the fields, sow seed for crops, maintain his home, support his family, and still attend a school board meeting that runs past midnight. He not only provides for his family and animals, he provides for the nation. It is proof, based on all these responsibilities, that a farmer is dependable and hard working. So, Dodgemade the Ram truck to take care of the farmer. Dodge would like you, the consumer, to know that their Ram truck is also dependable and hard working, like a farmer. Because we the nation rely on such a dependable individual to feed us, Dodge manufactured a dependable vehicle for the farmer in order to fulfill his tasks. According to this commercial, the farmer is someone who can do all these things, yet take care of his family, while supplying the nation with food and livestock. Dodge is using this commercial as a way to associate the mighty farmer , who people depend on, with their mighty truck, which is dependable for heavy farming needs. The commercial utilizes select photographs, some of which feature a Dodge Ramtruck being used on the farm, to portray the daily life of a farmer. These pictures give us the impression that the truck is designed to be strong enough to clear trees and heave bails , and yet provide a gentle enough ride for
  • 3. Civil War Soldier And The Art Of Dying Analysis The Civil War shook the United States in 1861, forcing families and soldiers, both in the North and South, to reevaluate what it meant to live and die under less than ideal circumstances. In Drew Gilpin Faust s essay, titled The Civil War Soldier and the Art of Dying, Faust goes through every change the Civil War made in the standard perception of deathand mourning at the time and the lasting implications death in the Civil War would have for years to come. In every sense, the changes Faust outlines were put in place to cater towards the They of Heideggerian thought and ultimately did not help Civil War soldiers and families think authentically about death, but rather shaped social norms that still support the They and prohibit Dasein from authentically anticipating death as a possibility.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Historical implications of death in general shapes our social norms which support the They. Death will always remain a personal experience which the Dasein will navigate through their whole lives. The way history has shaped death in the United States is largely reflected on how we deal with grief and mourning as a whole rather than assisting in how we personally actualize being towards death and authentically thinking about death as a possibility. Therefore, Civil War Death and using historical context when navigating death and dying, does not support successfully, authentically dying in Heideggerian
  • 4. Police Officers And Police Enforcement Officers Essay Law enforcement officers are authorized to use different forces based on its situation. Officers face many circumstances during the period of their job when use of force is necessary. For example, making arrests, restraining unruled combatants, and while controlling disruptive situations. Incidents involving the use of excessive force by the policefrequently receive media attentions, legislators and sometimes even criminal courts. Seven years ago, I crossed paths with Dr. Worthington and during this time he was an acquaintance, therefore, I did not recognize what a visionary, passionate, and committed person he was until I was introduced to Moore Magnet Elementary and STEM. From day one, Dr. Worthington envisioned how STEM should unfold inside of our school. Therefore, we had multiple meetings, made plans for implementation, and STEM to succeed, as our school transitioned from a Math and Science school as Moore Magnet transformed of a STEM school. We remain proud of our school and continue to reflect on the journey as we transitioned into this wall to wall STEM school.
  • 6. Labor Law Whistle Blowing Dillema Essay Labor Law Whistle Blowing Dillema Labor relations today, are quite different from those that existed in England during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries when employment relationships were considered of very little importance in the eyes of the law. Industrialization and commerce grew bringing with it the birth of modem day labor law. America was in no way exempt from the pain of progress. Employer and employee relationships were strained from the very beginning of labor, and it soon was evident that government intervention would be necessary to keep the labor movement on track. Several statues have been enacted since the early nineteenth century to deal with management and unions. Evidence can be seen from the Norris La... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (2) The active whistle blower describes employees that voice their concerns over illegal activity conducted by their employer, and take steps either internally or externally to expose such activity. The active whistle blower usually creates the most controversy because this person is under the employ of the people or organization who are the object of the complaint (Westman 21). (3) The embryonic whistle blower describes employees who have been terminated before they have the opportunity to expose their employers practices. These employees are usually terminated because the employer suspects that they represent a potentially sensitive or unfavorable predicament (Westman 22). The various forms of retribution that whistle blowers endure at the hands of employers both financially and psychologically for attempting to correct mismanagement, fraud, and dishonesty are often too much for the whistle blower to bear. Careers are in jeopardy because individuals with strong ethics decide to pursue law suits against their employers. One example is where the US Forest Service employees found their careers ruined by either demotions or loss of jobs when caught speaking out in favor of the environment or sound science, or when
  • 7. What Is The Similarities Of The Fourknocks In Co. Meath This essay aims to compare and contrast the nature of the rituals that would have taken place at any two of the sites that we encountered on our fieldtrip. The two megalithic sites that will be compared and contrasted in this essay will be the passage tomb known as Fourknocks in Co. Meath and the Proleek wedge tomb in Co. Louth. Both of these megalithic tombs characterise the majority of the Irish landscape and are of great importance to archaeologists as they give us an insight to the lifestyles and social structures of the societies that would have constructed these wonderful megalithic sites. Megalithic sites like Fourknocks and the Proleek wedge tomb are at the centre of controversy within the archaeological profession. There is little or no doubt that these large stone structures were erected in order to hold the remains of the dead but archaeologists would also like to believe that there is more to these large stone structures then just having a funerary orientated purpose (Brown, 1979). Other purposes that could be related to these monuments include, links to the spirit world, astronomical, directional or calendrical purposes (Brown, 1979). • 9. Arguments Against Ferdinand Meglemorp I have a found a few logical fallacies regarding your letter pleading me to vote against Ferdinand Meglesmorp. First, and foremost, you state your claim with, Ferdinand Meglesmorp is the worst candidate for governor in the history of this state, and I can prove it. First of all, in college he was a roommate of Alex Candlesmith, who became a serial murderer. Though Meglesmorp roommate s actions could have influenced him, there is no outward indication that Ferdinand was inclined to follow in his roommate s ways. You elaborate further with, Last year he met repeatedly with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, a man who was later found to have embezzled money from the general fund. Meglesmorp must have put that idea in his head when
  • 10. Effects of Text Messaging Among Teens Effects of Text Messaging Among Teenagers IntroductionHow often do/did you use your cellphone/smartphone as a teen? When I was a teen, I received my first cellphone at the age of 15. I thought personally this was the best invention ever created as a young teen and with that, I soon found out that I just entered a whole new social world with these new technology devices. I entered a generation that would be called the Tech Generation filled with cellphones/smartphones and social media. I quickly discovered the texting function with my cellphone and started to send texts daily to my friends. My cellphone became a necessity for me; if I did not have my cellphone, I would freak out. In addition, I started to replace phone calls and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cell phones have been engineered over the past years to accommodate the demand of texting, such as offering a full 1QWERTY keyboard (QWERTY is the acronym that commonly describes today s standard keyboard layout on English language computers), and many cell phone carriers offer plans that contain unlimited texting. An example of one of this cellphones/smartphone would be the ever popular IPhone, which holds functions that enables the users to be able to call/text /email and even use special apps that give direct access to the internet or a social networking site. According to Lenhart, 77% of adults and 71% of teenagers owned a cell phone and 38% of those teenagers (12 17 years old) used their phones to text daily (30). A year later, the same survey was administered with results increasing to 54% who text daily (30). The same survey was again administered from the Pew Research Center by Lenhart in 2012 with the results increasing to 84% of Americans ages 12 and up owning a cell phone and 63% of teenagers saying they exchange text messages daily (2). The problem is texting is giving teenagers the option to avoid face to face interactions and causing teens to lose important social skills. Fraser J.M. Reid, (Associate Head at the Centre for Thinking and Language, School of Psychology, University of Plymouth, Plymouth, UK), and Donna J. Reid, (PhD Student, at the Centre
  • 11. Implementing New Information Technologies Can Bring The... Next point that I feel needs to be evaluated is Get to the market first. Being the first one to adopt and apply new information technologies can bring the biggest positive effect to a company. Bill Gates states that, whoever is first to use digital information to operate business, has a great chance of putting companyahead of its competitors. It changes the methods of handling projects as well. Building specialized groups of employees to work on specific tasks improves productivity and also the speed of turnover. In some cases, cultural confrontations are observed, however, consumers realize and tolerate the necessity to move quickly to fulfill demands. Gates points out Intel s new communication system that creates a database of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It sets up the first major commercial Internet site to develop online banking and becomes the main system of accessing Internet. It eventually contributes to retain customer loyalty. In my opinion, the decision of getting first to market comes with great risk. That is to say, it requires a large amount of investment and time. It also affects revenue and in most cases, it puts company s security in danger. Moreover, the idea of first movers are the winners, is not always true. Second movers can actually benefit more than the first movers. We can look at online bookstore giant amazon.com, as an example. Before Amazon was launched in 1995, there was an already established large online bookstore books.com by Book Stacks unlimited1. However, amazon overcame the books.com and became the biggest on the market in a short period. The reason is, the first movers have to spend more time and money on research and development, also educate the public about the new scheme. Second movers can learn from the mistakes of the first movers and avoid excessive cost on R D and public education. The next point that should be addressed is Middle man must add value . According to Gates, Internet and technology change everything, including the role of middleman businesses. Indeed, disintermediation is unavoidable; unless they add value to their goods and services they transfer. The main problem with middleman job is anybody can easily do it. It does not

Research three to five (3 5) ethical issues relating to marketing and advertising, intellectual property, and regulation of product safety. Many people may not be able to fully process information about the safety and risk about products. The organizations that attempt to make products that are safe have a difficult time competing with those who provide unsafe products at cheaper prices. The usual steps are to seek grants from the government, private organizations, and from organizations setup through the colleges themselves. There are also loans that are made through the private sector and those from government based organizations. Some students go as far as trying to pay for college using credit cards. This has never been more true than it is today. At a time when our children are competing with kids in China and India, the best job qualification you can have is a college degree or advanced training. If you do have that kind of education, then you re well prepared for the future because half of the fastest growing jobs in America require a Bachelor s degree or more. And if you don t have a college degree, you re more than twice as likely to be unemployed as somebody who does. So the stakes could not be higher for young people like Stephanie. And yet, in a paradox of American life, at the very moment it s never been more important to have a quality higher education, the cost of that kind of that kind of education has never been higher. • 17. The Potential Effectiveness Of The Digital Economy Act tExplain the potential effectiveness of the Digital Economy Act in preventing infringement of copyright. This essay discusses the usefulness of the Digital Economy Act (the 2010 Act) in preventing infringement of copyright. The essay will start off discussing the provisions which imposed ISPs to stop individuals from infringing copyright. Followed by analysing the 2010 Act which caused widespread controversy and outrage in the United Kingdom. Moreover, my intention is to ascertain whether it has been effective since its implementation. Also, I will briefly outline the key provisions relating to infringement of copyright. I will consequently restrict comments to some copyright related issues, concentrating on peer to peer file sharing over the Internet. Thirdly, practical examples will be given to evaluate the DEA. Using legislation, case law and journal articles I will present my findings. Copyright Copyright does not protect the idea but the independent expression of the idea. In contrast to patents, copyright does not create monopolies. Instead, it allows the creator to benefit from the copyright for a period of time and prevent others taking advantage of their efforts. The Copyright Designs and Patents Act stipulates the works which is protected. There are certain requirements which must be met before copyright is granted. Firstly, it must fall into the category of works and must be original. Originality means the intellectual creation comes from the creator and has

The film The Legend of Bagger Vance, based on the novel of the same name by Steven Pressfield, is a movie that transports the philosophical Hindu text, the Bhagavad Gita, from a celebrated battlefield, approximately during the 4th century BCE, in India to a fictional southern golf course in Savannah, Georgia during the Great Depression. The predominant theme of dharma (or duty) is a major point that both these works focus on. The Legend of Bagger Vance is told from the point of view of Harvey Greaves, an old man reminiscing about a legendary golftournament that was held in Savannah during his youth. Such is the case with Hester Prynne from Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter. Hester Prynne is a young and beautiful lady who is married to an old scholar, Roger Chillingworth. He sends Hester to live in the New World while he finishes off his affairs in Europe. While Chillingworth remains in Europe, Hester has an illicit affair with Arthur Dimmesdale, a clergyman. This sense of belonging is something more than just residence or vague opportunity or even welfare benefits, (Daley 2007). Without a clear national identity, a country while not necessarily in a state of active distress does feel slightly uneasy at the thought of having nothing clear and tangible to show to not only the inhabitants of the country, but also the world. John Donne, (1572 1631) is considered the greatest of all metaphysical poets. Donne was educated at Oxford, Cambridge and Lincoln s Inn. His works of this period, included some of his songs, sonnets (written as late as 1617), problems and paradoxes, which consisted of cynical, realistic and often sexual lyrics, essays and verse satires. Donne s court career was ruined by the discovery of his marriage in 1601 to Anne More and we also imprisoned for a short time; later in 1601, his poems became a lot more serious. We made an RC series circuit and connected it to the Rigol wave generator to produce a square waveform for current. Then, we collected data of the voltage across the capacitor at different points in time using a myDAQ and the 4BL application. In order to find the time constant, we linearized the voltage we measured across the capacitor and then performed a linear regression on the data. The equation for the voltage across the capacitor as a function of time is: V_c (t)=V_b (1 e^(( t)/RC) ) where V_c (t) is the voltage across the capacitor as a function of time and V_b is the input voltage. However, in order to better compare the two methods, we can calculate the percent error from the theoretical value for the resonant frequency. The formula for percent error is: percent error=| (experimental value accepted value)/(accepted value) | Г— 100 We get that the percent error for method 1 is 19.3% and the percent error for method 2 is 1.2%. This affirms that the method 2 is the more accurate method to measure the resonant frequency. This may be due to the fact that method 1 involves using estimations by eye, which allows for human error and inaccurate estimations. The difference between the experimental and theoretical values for the resonant frequency could also result from faulty equipment, which may not function as the manufacturer claims or be worn down by natural decay. Lastly using the theoretical value for the RLC circuit and Equation 2, we calculate a Q factor of Q=0.19. This low Q factor indicates that the peak of the curve is not very sharp and there could have been overdamping, which potentially increases the error in reading the resonant frequency, especially for the reading by

There have been many books written about World War II, and Britain s War does a good, albeit slow, job of giving the reader insight into what World War II was like for Britain before the United States entered. We see the complex drama that unfolds between British and American leaders, as well as gain understanding of the dynamics between Germany and the Royal Legislative. Todman wants to join together histories that are normally told separately. As readers go through this work, they will see that Todman focused on England as part of a global system, and he puts together strategic, military, cultural, political, economic and social histories that are generally reported independently. Britain s resilience and survival during this unique time in world history is so complex and broad based that Todman is able to research and weave together a compelling narrative. The book is almost overwhelming in its vastness of information, and to some, the military aspects might be heavily contextualized. Todman communicates that the conflict between Britain and their enemies is rooted back in the 1930s, but we are shown that before 1941, this war was a global one. The book is broken into parts for easier consumption, Part One: Prelude starts with the Coronation of George VI. The details Todman includes are features that help you understand how this was an international event. Edward VII s abdication of the crown really left

The Evolution of Total Quality Management The Evolution of Total Quality Management A useful way to begin to understand the evolution of TQM is to link it to show how the industrial world was developing at the time TQM was evolving. Until the industrial revolution in the mid 18th century, most goods were custom made. Industrialisation brought about a fundamental shift from cottage industry production to large scale manufacturing. Simultaneously, industrial activity underwent extensive mechanisation. As explained by Ho, craftsmen were diminishing and being replaced by mass production and repetitive work practices. The aim with the new industrial era was to produce large numbers of the same product which required processes to be put in place to control quality as it could not be ... He says Cease dependence on inspection to achieve quality. Eliminate the need for massive inspection by building quality into the product in the first place It is around the time that we begin to see the emergence of quality assurance with more emphasis focused on the training and development of staff, recording of data and the accuracy in which things were measured. Brown et all describes how In the 1980s, leading edge corporations sparked a revolution as they implemented Total Quality programmes across entire organisations. In such a programme the responsibility for quality is with the whole workforce. Each employee is responsible for the quality of their own job, their own actions. It could be said that responsibility for quality lies with 100% of the workforce. Another TQM guru, Joseph Juran also influenced the thinking at this time by promoting the need for education and training in the

  • 38. The Logical Problem Of Evil Essay In this paper I will discuss the logical problem of evil and how it seems to reject the existence of God as an omni 3 being. I will first layout the logical problem of evil, and then I will explain why it succeeds in disproving the existence of God. I do this through pointing out the contradictions between the definition of Godas an omni 3 being and the problem of redeemed and unredeemed evil. As well as by proving that admittance of evil in any way when in reference to the choices of God invalidates the omni 3 definition of God. I will address claims from those who believe in God about justification of evil as well as the concept and depth of human understanding. The logical problem of evil is almost as old as the concept of an omni 3 being as the one true God. God in this context being a mix of the Judeo Christian belief that God is the Greatest Conceivable Being (GCB). Being the GCB implies 3 things: God is all good (Omnibenevolent), all knowing (Omniscient), and all powerful (Omnipotent), this is commonly referred to as omni 3. This argument boils down to a simple three part argument structure: 1. If God, as an omni 3 being, exists then evil can not exist at all. 2. Evil clearly exists. 3. As a result, God as omni 3 can not exist. This is a very simple argument; premise, interference, implied contradiction, and a conclusion. It is simply through an application of modus ponens that, some believe, we are able to disprove the existence of God as an Omni 3 being.

What may seem as a sad end to the best part of the day for most students fills Anna with complete joy. Why? Anna is on the way to her favorite class music. Anna enjoys it because she likes to sing, but what she does not know is that the class that she enjoys the most is also extremely beneficial to her academic and social life. Sadly, for many students, art classes are not commonly offered due to cost or the perception that art educationis unimportant. Although seen as less important than core subjects, art education should be a part of basic curriculum because of its academic and social benefits for students. Many people believe that schools should focus on excelling on standardized testing, such as state tests and college entrance exams, and lowering the academic achievement gap. After all, these examinations are major factors in students future decisions and schools academic success greatly affects their overall achievement. Focusing on standardized testing is important; however, basic courses such as English, mathematics, and science are not the only subjects that are beneficial when preparing for these tests. In a study prepared by the President s Committee on the Artsand Humanities (PCAH), arts integration focused schools were followed over a three year timespan and it was found that they had reduced the reading gap by fourteen percent and the mathematics gap

Smulka uses mason jars, vintage seltzer bottles, wine decanters, vases and water pitchers to capture the way light bends, refracts, illuminates, and distorts its surroundings. In some of the paintings, backgrounds of looming clouds and ridged tree bark are as in focus as the glass containers in the foreground, merging the two in a poetic, scrupulously accurate, yet slightly unreal manner. In other paintings, bottles in columns two, three, or four deep create multiple layers of transparency that make for almost abstract studies of light and color. In Steve Smulka s closely observed, meditative paintings, these densely luminous layers give weight to the

There are many chemicals that can turn things into a different color. There will be chemicals used for this experiment and will turn the fire into a range of colors. First, there are many chemicals and subatomic particles involved in the testing. A few things involved are atoms, flame photometry, photons, and many more. All of those things affect the test and how the results will come out. Everything involved plays a very important role in how the results turn out and how the experiment is tested. Atoms play a big role because when they go back to their ground state they emit photons. Photons also play a big role, but without atoms we wouldn t have photons. Flame photometry is also a huge thing, it detects the routine of metal salts. Now, let s talk about absorption and emission lines. Absorption lines are often superimposed on a colored continuum. (Same website as spectral lines) Absorption lines are also a result of specific wavelengths being absorbed along the line of sight. Emission lines are sort of the opposite, they appear as discrete colored lines that are most commonly on a black background. These lines correspond to specific wavelengths of light emitted by an object. Next, chemicals and color. How can certain chemicals turn fire into a color? Well, any element placed into or within a fire will change the color. Quantum mechanics and orbitals are a couple things that are also involved in the process. Quantum mechanics constrains them to appear in various distinct patterns which are also called orbitals. Dog sneezing is often a natural reaction to particles, pollen, or some other irritant in the dog s nasal membranes. Sneezing is not always due to allergies or sickness; however, if your dog is suffering from an illness like kennel cough (Bordetella) or some other bronchial infection, then you should consider putting your pet on all natural pet health supplements, which can help support healthy respiratory function in your dog. One product that has proven to be an excellent solution to dog sneezing, is called Ox E Drops. There are two types of dog sneezing activities. There is the normal involuntary reaction to foreign bodies in the dog s membrane that cause the dog just like humans to sneeze as a natural reaction to remove the irritant; there is also a natural voluntary habit called Reverse Sneezing. This is a normal activity that dogs will use voluntarily to remove a discomfort from their nasal passage or throat. This is akin to the habit of gagging.
