Unusual Tactics by the United States in the Pacific War
The war in the Pacific was unlike any war the United States had fought up until that
time. They couldn t use their normal ground attack tactics; they had to figure out
how to win from above. Unlike in the European front they couldn t move through
and allied country to forge a ground attack against their enemy. They needed to find a
way to hit Japan from the air with the added difficulty of the mainland being across
an ocean from the target. Before any attack could be launched the U.S. needed
supplies in the form of long range bombers. These bombers were extremely important
in the Pacific Theater, without them the U.S. wouldn t have beaten Japan.
After the surprise Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 it took the
United States until April of 1942 to retaliate. That was done through the Doolittle Raid
. A group of 16 B 25 launched from the USS Hornet to conduct the first bombing on
Japanese soil. Despite not having very much of a military significance the raid of
Tokyo was a great boost to the moral of military and the public of the United States.
It showed both Japan and the U.S. that Japan wasn t out of reach and was no longer

Mr. Wisland, I have been doing research on food waste in Athens, Ohio. The goal
of my research is to find a plausible solution to the waste. To begin the gathering of

through commercials, television, news articles, and anything else along those lines.
It is vital that consumers learn because around 73% of consumers think that they
waste less than the average person, however, there is still over $165 billion worth of

what went on behind the curtains between the athletes and the organization that

written around 520 B.C. due to the specifics of the time period given in the book

consumed, largely due to the growing availability of content online. The internet
has brought the power of what, when and where a program is consumed into the
hands of the viewer (Pittman Sheehan, 2015). This has caused a surge in both the
amount, and the frequency of television consumed, leading to a growth of a
viewing practice known as binge watching (Matrix, 2014; Pittman Sheehan, 2015).
Streaming services, such as Netflix, have helped to facilitate this change in
consumption practices (Pittman Sheehan, 2015). Netflix is an online streaming
platform with a large variety of television programs and movies, which are made
available to subscribers for a small monthly fee. Some of the content is exclusive to
the streaming site, and others have originated elsewhere but are now available
through the streaming service. Peaky Blinders is a show that falls into the latter
category, having originally aired on BBC Two in the United Kingdom. The first

A Research Group On The Large Scale Experiment
Results For this experiment our research group produced our own taq. Being able
to do this saved our lab a lot of money for such a large scale experiment. After the
moonshine taq was made and amplified using a PCR, we ran a test gel to determine
if the taq was functioning and could replicate DNA. Figure 1 shows that the taq
was capable of replication. Here we also observe that each band traveled 500 bp,
meaning that the mass of the samples was roughly 97ng. We tested both heat
treated taq, and non heat treated taq to determine if one or the other yielded better
results. We did not see a difference in the results between the heat treated and the
non heat treated taq, which suggests that the heat treating step is not necessary. We
also compared the two moonshine taqs that we made to commercially prepared taq
(shown in lanes 1 and 2). Our taq was very comparable to the commercial taq. Next
we turned regular E.coli cells, into chemically competent cells. This means that the
cells were now able to act a host cel1 and accept the vector. Through transformation,
we were then able to insert the pCS2 + GFP into the E.coli cells.. We then isolated
the pCS2 + GFP from the chemically competent E.coli cells that we previously
made, using a miniprep protocol. To observe whether or not we successfully

read The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger over the summer. A Separate Peace
explores the rivalry that can lie at the heart of many friendships and conveys the
concept of individuality rather than conformity. Similarly, The Catcher in the Rye is
the story of a teenage boy who despises the phoniness of society and fears becoming
just another phony adult. Both novels share similar characteristics including their
utilization of literary devices as well as protagonists who battle with preserving their
youthful innocence while being forced to face the brutal reality of the adult world
