Queen Elizabeth s Life And Accomplishments
Queen Elizabeth was born to Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn of England at
Greenwich Palace on September 7, 1533. She was named after her grandmothers,
Elizabeth of York and Elizabeth Howard. She was a great disappointment because
her father wanted a boy. Her mother was executed of false charges if incest and
adultery on May 19, 1536. Her father then married his third wife Jane Seymour
who passed while giving birth to Henry s long wanted son, Edward. At a young
age it was very obvious that she was very gifted at learning and was well educated.
In January of 1547 her father died and his son became King Edward VI. Henry was
too young to rule himself due to the fact that he was only nine years old, so his
uncle, Edward Seymour became Protector of
Compare And Contrast The Wizard Of Oz Book And Book
The Wizard of Oz, written by L. Frank Baum was published on May 17, 1900, and
the original movie was made in 1939 (produced by Mervyn LeRoy). Both the book
and movie are similar. The story is about a little girl named Dorothy who is carried
away from home by a cyclone. She ends up in the land of the Munchkins where she
meets little people and a witch. Once she meets the witch she is told that in order
for her to get back home she has to go to the Emerald City to speak to Oz. On her
journey to Oz she meets three characters: the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the
Cowardly Lion. These three characters also want something from Oz. The Scarecrow
wants a brain, the Tin Man wants a heart, and the Cowardly Lion wants courage.

There are only three witches in the movie: The Good Witch of the North, The
Wicked Witch of the East and The Wicked Witch of the West. In the movie Glinda
is the name of The Good Witch of the North. Whereas in the book The Good Witch
of the South has the name Glinda and The Good Witch of the North has no name.
As the book goes on they reach Oz and he asks them to kill The Wicked Witch of
the West. The Wicked Witch is not seen or heard from until the end of the book. In
the movie she is seen several times. Dorothy and Toto see her in The Land of the
Munchkins, when they rescue the Tin man, and when they all arrive at The
Emerald City. Finally, the last way in which the book and movie are different is
how Oz gifts the characters. Scarecrow wants a brain so he is the first to speak
with Oz. In the book Oz gives scarecrow a brain made of bran, pins, and needles.
Whereas in the movie he gives him a diploma and Scarecrow instantly knows all.
The Tin man is next in receiving his gift from Oz. He gives him a heart made of
silk stuffed with sawdust in the book. In the movie Oz gives him a testimonial that
make the Tin Man very happy. The Cowardly Lion is after Tin Man and he wants
courage. In the book Oz has him drink some green liquid, while in the movie he
gifts him a medal of honor. Dorothy is the last to get what she wants. In the book
she has to goo on another journey, but to see The Good Witch of the North in order
to get home. She doesn t know how she will get home now
What Is Rome Like The Goths
Rome was founded on 21 April 753 BC by Romulus on the palatine hill. The
Roman Empire was one that was founded on the idea of spreading and conquering,
bringing the culture of Rome for all people to enjoy. Centuries of conquering and
expanding made Rome s borders bigger and bigger at the height of its power Rome
was 2.2 million square miles. This expansion although impressive was ultimately
one of their downfalls. As the Empire got bigger all the boarders got harder to
defend, also it got harder for the capital to communicate to all of its cities because of
the distances they would have to go. This made the emperors job of controlling his
empire much harder. Rome started to decline around the fourth century and their

One of the most pressing problems was the lack of money due to the split between
the western and eastern roman empire. Since they became so tight on money they
decided to employ the cheaper, but less reliable Germanic mercenaries. This was
not a good idea because when the mercenaries were not loyal to Rome. Their first
loyalty was to money, their second to their general, and their third to themselves.
Once knew that they could not defend Rome from the attacking germanic tribes.
They gave up. The sack of the city of Rome was on August 24, 410. Rome would be
sacked more times after this by different tribes looking to control the
The Forceful Effects Of The Trail Of Tears
The Trail of Tears refers to the forceful relocation and eventual movement of the
Native American communities from the South Eastern regions of the U.S. as a result
of the enactment of the Indian Removal Act in the year 1830. In the year 1838, in
line with Andrew Jackson s policy of the Indians removal, the Cherokeecommunity
was forced to surrender its land to the east of Mississippi River and migrate to the
present day Oklahoma. This journey was referred to as the Trail of Tearsmainly due to
its devastating effects it had to the Indian people. The migrants faced extreme hunger,
diseases and exhaustion due to the forced march while more than 50,000 people died
(Cave, 2003). The Trail of Tears resulted in a devastating effect for the Indians such as
extreme hunger, diseases and exhaustion due to long walk and massive injustices and
abuse of fundamental human rights.
According to Perdue (2008), the Trail of Tears is regarded as one of the tragic eras in
the U.S. history mainly due to the forceful relocation of the Indians. This is also
considered as the beginning of the Indian extermination by the U.S. government even
though they had lived in the country several centuries before the white settlers set
their foot in America. After the American Revolution and the eventual creation of the
U.S., the Indians were regarded as a separate nation within a sovereign country even
though they were fully committed to a peaceful coexistence with the white settlers.
However, the white
A Multi System Disease Of Unknown Etiology
Sarcoidosis is a multi system disease of unknown etiology. The diagnosis is
confirmed when non caseating granulomas are identified in tissue biopsies,
predominantly from the lung parenchyma or the mediastinal lymph nodes and is
supported by compatible clinical and radiological features. [1] Cardiac manifestations
may occur in isolation or may precede, follow or occur concurrently with the
involvement of the lungs and other organs. All components of the heartmay
potentially be involved. The most common are conduction abnormalities leading to
bradyarrhythmias and syncope, ventricular tachycardias and the development of
congestive heart failure. [2, 3]

[5, 6] Japanese Ministry of Health (JMH) published criteria are the current
established method for non invasive clinical diagnosis. [2, 5] Imaging modalities
suggested by the JMH criteria include gallium 67 scintigraphy and late gadolinium
enhanced cardiovascular magnetic resonance (LGE CMR). [2] However, only 5
10% of patients with sarcoidosis present with clinical evidence of myocardial
involvement based on the above criteria while autopsy studies indicate that cardiac
involvement is present in up to 25 50% of cases implying that there is a significant
proportion of sub clinical cardiac sarcoidosis not detected with the existing criteria. [1,
7] Nuclear imaging modalities have shown significant advances and rapid growth in
the field of the diagnosis and monitoring of cardiac involvement in sarcoidosis.
Promising results show high sensitivity for identifying pathophysiological activity at
an early stage before structural changes have occurred as well as value of
reproducible activity quantification when emphasizing in therapy monitoring.
Although gallium 67 scintigraphy has traditionally been used in sarcoidosis patients,
cardiac positron emission tomography (PET) along with myocardial perfusion scans
have shown superiority that mostly includes higher sensitivity in detecting active
Plant And Animal Cells Essay
Plant and Animal Cells
I. Introduction
All organisms in life are composed of at least one or more
cells. Cells are the basic units of life. There are three main
features of a cell. First, all organisms consist of one or more
cells. Second, cells are the smallest units of life and third,
cells arise only from preexisting cells. These three facts are
referred to as the cell theory.
All cells can be categorized into two basic cell types.
They are prokaryotic and eukaryotic. To distinguish where cells
are placed in the two categories, what is inside the cell must
first be looked at. Every cell, either prokaryotic or eukaryotic
all contain basic cell parts. They are: a plasma membrane,

To complete this we had to make wet mount slides and
observe them under a light microscope. To prepare a wet mount
slide you must first obtain your specimen you are going to look
at. You then put the specimen on a clean glass slide in the
middle. Next, you take a medicine dropper and place one drop of
water on the specimen. After that, you hold a clean coverslip
and place the bottom edge of the coverslip in the drop of water.
Next, slowly lower the rest of the coverslip so that there are no
air bubbles, onto the remaining part of the specimen. By putting
specimens into wet mount slides it saves a lot of time and energy
instead of putting them into set slides. Also, a wet mount slide
can be cleaned and re used.
We put onion cells, cheek cells, and Elodeo cells into wet
mount slides. After we made slides for each one we observe them
under the microscope. For some of the cells, we had to apply a
dye to have make the cell more visible under the microscope.
Methylene blue was applied to the cheek cells and iodine to the
onion cells. To see the cheek cells, we had to reduce the amount
of light coming into the microscope. We had to do this because
when we reduced the amount of light, we could see the cells more
clear. Elodeo cells were observed as a wet mount slide and also
with salt water. To apply a die to a previously made wet mount
slide, an edge of the coverslip
Character Analysis of Gabriel in James Joyce s The Dead
Gabriel: The hollow man of James Joyce s short story The Dead In James Joyce s
short story The Dead, the character of Gabriel begins the story confident of what he
knows, and ends the story depressed, realizing he is a hollow shell of a man. The
T.S. Eliot poem The Wasteland famously portrays a world in which all meaning is
lost, and men are hollow and stuffed with nothing of true substance. What are the
roots that clutch, what branches grow/Out of this stony rubbish? asks Eliot in his
famous poem. In the critical final scene of The Dead, Gabriel realizes that despite
living with his wife for many years, he knows little of her true character. As Eliot
says: I will show you fear in a handful of dust. By the end of the story, Gabriel feels
that his life is a mere handful of dust. The story begins with Gabriel and his wife
paying a call upon the Morkan sisters for a holiday party. The sisters make Gabriel
feel very important, and Gabriel takes himself extremely seriously, which is most
clearly manifested in his long winded speech, toasting the participants during the
middle of the party. As symbolized in the amount of concern he devotes to small
details, like his galoshes, Gabriel is obsessed with dust or minutiae, and is unable
to see the big picture, gazing at the world with the fragmented perspective of one of
Eliot s Wasteland characters. Gabriel takes himself seriously and is often taken
aback by any challenge to his fragile sense of masculinity. He
Orthopedic Infection
Infection is the most dreaded complication in orthopedic surgery. It causes
increased morbidity and mortality and is a source of great harassment not only for
the patient but the doctor as well. Incidence of Surgical site infection in USA is
more than 2% [1]. Whereas in India the infection ranges from 2.5 41% [2]. This
causes an increase in the mortality rate by 2 3 times. The rate of postoperative
infection in procedures like total hip replacement (THR) and total knee replacement
(TKR) is 1 5%. [3]
Preoperative systemic antibiotic prophylaxis for implant surgeries in orthopaedics is
commonly used [4]. Studies show that regardless of the precautions being used,
prophylactic antibiotics do reduce the incidence of infection [1,5 7]. Three ... Show

Do Different Brands Of Popcorn Affect How Many Kernels
Do different brands of popcorn affect how many kernels pop?
Introduction
The grocery store shelves are filled with many varieties, sizes, and brands of the
same item. There are numerous kinds of popcorn, large and small, produced by
different manufacturers. Some people choose products based on need, some base
their decisions on price and some base their decision on quality or brand loyalty.
With all of these options it can be difficult to choose. You may want to save money
but at what cost? In this experiment we will determine if generics are equivalent
alternatives or if we really get what we pay for. (Bautista, 2006)

2.Heat stove at a medium high heat (7/10 on most stove units); let it heat up for 3
minutes
*To keep the heat the same medium high heat for each run of the experiment.
3.Add 1T of peanut oil
*Peanut oil has a higher smoke point and has less of a chance of burning during the
experiment.
4.Once stove has reached medium high heat (3 minutes has passed), insert 1 popcorn
kernel into the pot.
*This step makes sure the stove is hot enough for the popcorn to pop.
5.Once test kernel has popped, pour in the popcorn kernels into the pot, put the pot
top on, and immediately start timer for seconds.
*The timer has to be started as soon as the popcorn is put into the pot so that the
time stays consistent. When the top is put on, after the popcorn is put in the pot, it
not only keeps the popped popcorn in the pot during the popping, but also keeps the
heat inside allowing the popcorn a greater chance of absorbing moisture.
6.Once timer has gone off after 30 seconds, quickly remove pot from heating surface
and quickly pour into bowl.
*To make sure the same amount of heat is given to both name brand and generic and
is removed from the stove surface as soon as the timer goes off.
7.Count remaining unpopped seeds Popped kernels are any broken kernels.
*The seeds must be counted in order to determine if name brand popcorn pops better

Elementary Education And Special Education Essay
My goal in teaching is to educate students and equip them with the tools necessary to
think critically and logically so they will be able to draw conclusions and
conceptually understand material they will be given in the future. Before this
semester of service learning, I was expecting to teach younger students somewhere
between kindergarten and third grade. After working with fourth through sixth grade
students this semester, I feel as though teaching students in an older age range might
be more fitting more me. I also feel as though I would now like to pursue a dual
bachelor s degree in both Elementary Educationand Special Education. Growing up
in these today s world, our generations are torn between accepting each other as we
come and discrimination and prejudice toward people who may be different than
us. It is my belief that children aren t born with a prejudgement toward varying
cultures and skin colors, but that it is learned by those around us including family,
friends, society, even television. It is in my role that I must show by example how
people who may be different on the outside, are indeed all the same on the inside
with feelings, brains, and hearts. As a teacher, I will dedicate time with my
classroom exploring and embracing our differences that make us who we are and I
will show my students that it is alright if we are different and that we can coexist and
be friends even though we may not be identical. With the increasing number of

The Feminist Movement During The Romantic Era
During the Romantic Era, gender roles were already set in stone. Women were
expected to do certain things, as were men, and they only did such. These clear
standards were held very highly in society, however, as many people felt obligated to
society to continue with these standards, there were always people who had a
different opinion. Women such as Mary Wollstonecraft identified men as the root
cause for the need of a change in society. In contrast there were women like Anna
Letitia Barbauld who felt that if women truly loved their husban,d, being an equal
gendershould not matter. These two approaches, although very different, made up the
beginning of the feminist movement during this era.
Women were expected to basically be merely an object, even a trophy for their
husbands. They were expected to stay home and clean, as well as cook. With all
these expected tasks, women hardly had any time to branch out and figure out what
they wanted to do with their life. They had no time for leisure activities of any kind
because, of course, their activities involved taking care of the house. Women were
also seen as the weaker sex, always submissive to their dominant male counterpart.
Although the women were submissive, they were held to a higher moral standard.
Adultery was twice shamed upon if committed by a woman rather than a man.
(Hughes par.3) A woman could be stoned to death, but people would turn their cheek
for a man while the woman still was expected to stay beside the man.
Research Paper On Fishing Salmon
In the past, the American River provided more that 150 miles of spawning habitat for
anadromous fish like Chinook (king) salmon and steelhead trout. With the creation of
the Folsom and Nimbus dam for flood control in 1970, came the decline of native
salmon and steelhead populations because upstream spawning habitats were cut off
or destroyed. The Nimbus Salmonand Steelhead Hatcherywas created because salmon
and steelhead were threatened to become extinct and people believed the population
could be replaced by hatchery fish. The relationship between salmon and humans is
much more than just humans fishing salmon for food. I think the relationship is more
of a positive one because the dambuilders try to mitigate population loss. By creation

They show the desire humans have to coexist with the salmon while providing a
viewing sight for humans to see the salmon. I think that although hatcheries seem to
be effective in maintaining the population of fish, we should work on creating a new
population of salmon in a new location. Then salmon won t need human intervention
to maintain their populations. Also that way we do not have to worry about how
hatchery salmon will react differently to than the wild salmon in the wild. I really
enjoyed my trip to the Nimbus and American river fish hatcheries and it was amazing
seeing and learning about the salmon and

Ever since I was younger, I have always had an interest in the insides of pens and
I would take pens apart just to put them back together. When I recently found out
that putting pens back together was not the normal idea of fun for children, I

for math and science. The specific type of engineering that I am currently interested in
is aerospace engineering, which is because I have an interest in planes and rockets,
and because airports happen to be my favorite places.

For a bachelor s degree, they will need to learn about propulsions, structures, and
mechanics. This is because it is important to know how to get the aircraft off of the
ground. Aerospace engineers also need to be able to work with computers and
electronics, as these are constantly used and involved.
Most Aerospace companies prefer an employee to have more than three years of
experience in the field before working full time. A bachelor s degree is the lowest
amount of education, as previously stated. This job even requires good
communication skills and the ability to work in groups. For most of these jobs an
individual must be able to obtain a security clearance. They also tend to accept
degrees other than aerospace degrees, such as mechanical engineering and electrical
engineering degrees.
The national average salary for aerospace engineers is around $79k. The lowest
salary for entry level engineers is $54k. Experienced engineers can range from a
salary of $77k to $140k. Late career engineers can have salaries ranging from $90k
to $172k. The annual mean wage for aerospace engineering is the highest in
Colorado, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The employment is expected to
decline two percent by 2024 because of the decrease in air
Persuasive Speech On What You Eat Is Who You Are
Specific Purpose: To Question my audience on what you eat is who you are.

defined of your nutritional diet and health by what you eat. After all, don t you
decide what to buy or eat?

a)(Attention Getter/Relevancy Statement)
i)Let s start off with a silly scenario: What if you were stranded on an island and
you were give one fully prepare meal of any choice, what will it? .... Will it have
any vegetables? Does it contains fruits? Any sugars? Any fats? What flavors you
like such as sweet, sour, or savory? ii) Based on a rhetorical question with a finite
amount of correct answers, I just ask what the most favorite meal is. Seems simple
and easy but the real question but nevertheless it is important question to ask. It will
be mention later to make point about freedom to choice for you.
b)(Credibility Statement)
i)I m was always interested in how other people, not myself, live their normal lives
such as what they do, where they work, and how they eat. Most of you can say the
same to other people such as friends and family. It is a natural curiosity. ii) The same
curiosity we have when talking about food, mostly the part about what other people
eat. It also easy to complement or criticized a person s meal of choice but have
done the same for yourselves? Not just for some guilty pleasures or excuse for
dessert, but in everyday general. iii) We live in a world were fast food can order
cheap and quick. There is no time needed to prepare or cook. And with all the choices
available such as Chinese, Mexican, Indian, Thai, Italian, and American restaurants
and take outs throughout the country, how would we ever decide to eat.
c)(Preview)
i)In this presentation, I will be discussing facts and statistics of America s current
obesity epidemic, a need for a government intervention, and how you are your own
leader in the fight against obesity.
(Transition) Before diving in the aspect of whenever or not should the government
regulate obesity, we must acknowledge the facts regarding about obesity in the US.

Summary Of Women In Annawadi
2. In the novel, women in Annawadi don t have lots of freedom and rights. They
are mistreated and every family living in Annawadi dislikes each other because
they are corrupted by greed and money. Even in the urban slums, women like
Zehrunisa and Asha wouldn t have more freedom because women can t have a
voice for themselves unless they have connections to other, more powerful people.
Other women dislike and spit hate at Zehrunisa and Asha because they are more
successful than them, rather than trying to work with them to be successful
together. Since the people in Annawadi are so corrupted by money, they disregard
for others wellbeing and resort to fighting or trash talk each other. For women, they
are a burden for parents because of marriage and dowry. That is why mothers and
fathers want their daughters to be perfect, with no scars or anything that would
prevent them to get married. All the engagement is determined at a young age, so
girls can not find love for themselves. Meena s future in laws might not come to
hear that they d chosen an impetuous bride. (Boo 188). When Meena, a young
Annawadi girl, tried to commit suicide with rat poison because she hated the life she
was living, her brother beat her up because now there would be less chance for
Meena to get married. Rather than the townspeople helping Meena, the were ashamed
of her and worried for her reputation than her health. In my view, the freedoms that
the women in Annawadi lack is a voice. The women cannot

Gun Violence
On the night of October 1, 2017, a 64 year old gunman fired hundreds of rifle
rounds from his suite on the 32nd floor of the nearby Mandalay Bay hotel on the
crowded concert. According to the Washington post, he killed at least 59 people and
injured more than 500 others. He later killed himself. Gun violence is one of the major
problems in the United States and the number of people dying from gun violence is
increasing every year. The increase in drugs business, terrorist attacks, mass
shootings, crimes, and robbery are the effects of guns violence.
Gun related violence is violence committed with the use of a gun. Mass shooting,
homicides, domestic violence, robbery, and assault are the different gun related acts
of violence in the United States. According to the UNODC, small gun surveys,
America has the highest rate of gun homicide in perspective to other developed
nations. It also shows that the United States has the highest number of gun
ownership. We see so many news related to the mass shootings. There are lot of
shootings at the school. According to the CNN news, on December 12, 2012, a
gunman named Adam Lanza shot 20 kids and 6 staffs at Sandy Hook Elementary
School. He killed his own mom before shooting 26 people. This creates fear in entire
communities, families, and children. About 25% students witnessed that shooting
and their minds have been filled with fear and insecurities. According to
How Loyola Changed My Life
Since I was six years old I knew that I wanted to be a lawyer. Life took me in
different directions, some achievements, some delays but, somehow, almost four
years ago, I found myself here, at Loyola, exactly where I was meant to be.
I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I signed up in 2012 but, I knew
that I wanted to create change in this world and with nine measly credit hours I
knew it would be a journey. I came here much like all the other students, in a rush,
focused on obtaining that degree. Quickly, I found out Loyola had other plans, to
transform my life. As the largest Jesuit university Loyola sets one goal, we are set on
preparing people to lead extraordinary lives, providing growth at every corner from
ignorance to understanding, from isolation to dialogue, from indifference to moral
responsibility. This goal is weaved throughout every course, ingrained in ... Show

I live nearly one hundred miles away from Loyola. I am a single mother to two
beautiful twin five year old girls, and this year I am starting my own training
business to put my daughters into a private school to give them the same educational
goals that I mirror everyday. In addition to focusing on my studies full time this
year, I became the first ever non graduate teaching assistant in the SCPS program
and started Kaplan LSAT prep courses at Marquette University and will take my first
LSAT exam in June.
This year is going to be extraordinary and will require laser light focus in order to
complete my degree on time in December. The only way that will be possible is if I
complete nine credit hours this summer and fifteen in fall. Without the help of the
SCPS scholarship I will not be able to not afford summer tuition in addition to costly
summer care for my daughters. Please consider my submission for a summer

some were just an inconvenience, others were meant to be avoided at all costs, so
much so that even the other gods were known to be weary of them. There were 2
gods of chaos in ancient Greece. To the Greeks, chaos was a dark void from whence
life emerged. They believed this void was made up of the four elements: earth,

Chaos was as much important as order because like ying and yang, they were both
needed to insure each other s survival and thus the Egyptian way of life. Set was
perceived as a negative god, blamed for natural disasters such as earthquakes and
solar eclipses which is fitting as he was also considered the storm god. As the
kingdom changed in later years, Set was associated with the Persians who had
begun invading Egypt. Egyptians were constantly balancing order and chaos. Ma

What Is The Ratification Of The Constitution Dbq
The US Constitution was written in 1787, it was later ratified in 1788 then taken in
1789. Supporters of the ratification of the Constitution where known to be the
Federalists on the contrary those opposing of the ratification of the Constitution
where Anti Federalists. The immediate problem was not just excepting the
Constitution but also for a concern of the government. The Anti Federalists started a
movement due to opposing of the Bill of Rights not being in the Constitution. The
Anti Federalists did not want a strong central federal government. They saw the
constitution to be too powerful, possibly as a potential threat. During this time

Mark Antony s Assassination Analysis
Being politically assassinated is really no easy task to do. For example: During
the presidential debate that happened at the Al Smith Dinner for a charity on
October 20th, 2016 there was a heated battle between Donald Trump and Hillary
Clinton. The two politicians were roasting each other back and forth in a jokingly
matter but in the audience s eyes, it seemed like a direct attack between one
another. One of the lines which Trump said, shocked many of the guests who
attended the charity that day. Hillary is so corrupt, she got kicked off the Watergate
Commission. And going into Clinton s own speech, she also went as far as to
humiliate Trump in her own way. Donald wanted me drug tested before last night s
debate. Look I got to tell... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(IV.3.1 117) (Argument between Cassius and Brutus) That you have... is cold

difficulties trying to get along after rumors being spread out each other. Their
army decreases with every word being spread out about them killing Caesar who
was not ambitious at all and was killed as an innocent man. So throughout their own
conversation, it seems like they finally come to a conclusion and end their little
quarrel and start to discuss about how to turn the tides and defeat Antony and
Octavius. But they both know that their powers with the people of Rome and their
own army is waning, so they decide to march to Philippi and win. (IV.3.199 227)
Well, to our work... or lose our ventures. Their final efforts to march toward Philippi

Essay on Charles Dickens Great Expectations
Great Expectations main character, Phillip Pirrip generally known as Pip had a
rough upbringing as a child. His sister, Mrs. Joe had brought him up by hand , after
their parents and five brothers had all been laid to rest many years ago. Another
character, Herbert Pocket experienced a bizarre childhood, though in a different
manner. Charles Dickens Great Expectationsdevelops through the novel following
Pip, a young common boy who grew up in the countryside. As he matured so did his
love for a girl of higher class, Estella. However, being a common boy, Pip was not
good enough for his Estella, thus once he was given an opportunity to become a
gentleman in London he seized it without much hesitation. Charles Dickens had his

They both felt the wrath of Mrs. Joe; she frequently knocked his (Joe) head...against
the wall or the Tickler for Pip. Knowledgeable critics have referred to Pip s
experience as that of a quot;Dickensian childhood stripped of his rights, found guilty
of being himself, and rendered invisible by all those around.
Estella also is a victim to her guardian in the novel. She too is never given the
chance to be her own person and live life to its fullest. Estella is conditioned by her
guardian, Miss Havisham, to make men suffer, and in return it is Estella who will
be made to suffer for her guardian s actions. Miss Havisham is a severely disturbed
old woman who has adopted Estella. Miss Havisham was abandoned on her
wedding day and as a result she forever maintains hatred toward men. Thus for her
dirty work, Miss Havisham uses Estella to meet this purpose. Pip concludes that
Miss Havisham quot;had done a grievous thing in taking an impressionable child
(Estella) and had manipulated into the form that her wild resentment, spurned
affection, and wounded pride, found vengeance in quot;. Miss Havisham makes
Estella have a fear of men being close to her and not to allow herself to become
attached to them emotionally. Dickens made Estella an almost identical copy of
Frankenstein: trained to perform specific tasks for the pleasure of their guardian.
However someday, they crack and see the illness in their lives. Estella was Miss

The Little Chinese Seamstress Character Analysis
Of course not everybody in the world likes to talk about exactly what they are
feeling or thinking all the time. There is a certain degree of things that generally
are kept private. However, in the book The Little Chinese Seamstress by Dai Sijie,
the main character (who doesn t ever reveal his name to the audience, so is simply
called the Narrator), comes off as an especially closed off character specifically in
the beginning half of the story. He rarely ever speaks what he is actually thinking,
which makes him a kind of difficult character to relate to. The Little Seamstress, a
local beauty, has caught his eye along with every other male in the village , but he
struggles with how to express his feelings because he is not used to doing so, and
because his best friend (Luo) is dating her. On pages 161 163, Luo has left the
village and asked the Narrator to keep an eye on the Little Seamstress while he is
away. However, even though the Narrator keeps his word, he can t help but feel
attracted to her and an inner battle between what he wants and what is right begins.
In this part of the story, the Narrator feels torn between his loveand affection towards
the Little Seamstress and his commitment/promise to Luo. Here, the Narrator finally
portrays to what extent he feels towards her, but does so very subtly (which is fitting
seeing as that s who he is a character: altogether reserved).
With the job that the Narrator has been tasked with, he is certainly not neglecting his
Advertisement Of Kit Kat
Introduction Kit Kat The original name of Kit Kat is from the late 17th century in
London, when a literary club met a pie shop owned by pastry chef Christoppher

abbreviated version of the owner s name. The first manufacture of the four finger

tagline for Kit Kat Have a Break, Have a Kit Kat , it is very understandable and
very easy to remember it. In this advertisement, the tagline and slogan looks
related, so it makes people understand the meaning easily. In Cadbury

Essay On Glow Worm
In GSO, each glow worm, agent, carries a light on two dimensional works space
and has its own vision, called local decision range. The luciferin level is associated
with the objective value of the agent s position. The brighter agent means that it flies
to a better position (has a better objective value). The agent is only attracted by a
neighbor whose luciferin intensity is higher than its own within the local decision
range and then flies towards the neighbor. The local decision range depends on the
number of neighbors. While the neighbor density is low, the range is enlarged in
order to find more neighbors, otherwise the range is reduced. The agent always
changes its moving direction according to which neighbor is selected. The higher
luciferin level the neighbor has, the more attraction which gains. Finally, most agents
willget together at the multiple locations. Briefly, the GSO involves in three main
phases: luciferin update phase, movement phase, and decision range update. Step 1:

these values change according to the function values at their current positions. The

Dependency Theory Of Soft Power
After the explanation of soft power information, how does the soft power penetrate
the media content to others country? It is because of dependency theory. Dependency
theory is basically a domination theory/ system which makes the develop country get
richer, and developing country get poorer, and underdevelopment country remain
poverty or maybe worse. As capitalism and globalizationtake place, the ideas of
globalization is about free flows of information, and cultural exchange between
nations, and open trade with others country. However, according to dependency
theory, which is about the develop country controls the whole market, while
developing and underdevelopment countries are rely on develop country.
There are four main theoretical clues for dependency theory. The first clue, structure
of dependency theory is center/core and periphery. The center countries are United
States, Canada, United Kingdom, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of the domination system such as center and periphery, the center countries
control the international trade, the cultural, and of cause the media content. All these
forms of dominations are actually served the purpose of shape the good image of the
center country, and the center spread their country pop culture to others country as
what discussed in soft power. Media imperialism is actually a sub from cultural
imperialism . The difference between cultural imperialism and media imperialism
was, the cultural imperialism involve many aspects but not only media, it involves
religion, clothing, foods and etc. for media imperialism narrow down the focus which
only media ownership, international media flows, media structures, and the media
content. In another words, core countries serves as a center, to disseminate the media
content, news report, entertainment, to others periphery country if we are applying
dependency theory for media imperialism (Boyd Barrett, 1977:
Critical Analysis Of Amadeus
Perplexing, intriguing, and haunting, Amadeus leaves the viewer with an
impression of tragedy and mastery. While the film highlights the finest musical
qualities of its main character, Mozart, it primarily casts a dark and solemn tone
upon most of the story and eventually leads to his unfortunate fate. Because the
film features the point of view from the antagonist, Salieri, it attempts to cause the
viewer to sympathize with a flawed and broken character. Furthermore, the film
frustrates the viewer with the foolish decisions of Mozart, despite the best efforts
of his wife Costanza, and the lack of any moral conclusion or remorse from Salieri.
In doing this, it emphasizes realism and a brutal reality over an idealistic or hopeful
ending. In fact, those characteristics provide most of the primary merits that make
this film memorable to this day, even though the film differs vastly from actual
history. While Amadeus features a marvelous soundtrack taken from the writings of
Mozart himself and emphasizes the finest qualities of true talent, the melodies
themselves cannot dispel the final thoughts surrounding the tragic fates of both
Mozart and Salieri. While the movie contains complex twists and storyline, the plot
contains all the hallmarks of a powerful tragedy. Told from the perspective of
Salieri, the film gives his perspective on the life and death of Mozart. It shows how
Mozart rises from a child prodigy to one of the top composers in Vienna, despite his
childishness and

literary classics as The Tell Tale Heart, The Raven, and The Fall of the House of

some people liked it and some people did not because it was not very common that
someone would write about the things he did. Many other writers despised Poe
because he would often criticize their works harshly and got a bad reputation for
that. On October 7, 1849, Poe died of mysterious causes he was found outside of a

woman lead by Professor Abraham Van Helsing combats against Count Dracula, who
moves from Transylvania to England in order to manipulate people as foul things of

Deviant Behavior in the Movie, Training Day
The movie Training Day has a lot of deviant behavior in it. In this movie it is
difficult to determine who is and what is deviant. Deviant behavior is acceptable in
certain situations. Even though, Alonzo and Jake are police officers they
participated in deviant behavior. Jake and Alonzo partook in doing coke in the car
while, parked in the middle of a busy intersection. They were also drinking while on
the job. In any other profession or situation the policewould have been called and
they would have been arrested.
However, since they are police officers they control who will and who will not be
arrested. For example, the three teenagers that bought coke were scared but not
arrested. This happened again with two men tried to rape a teenage girl were also,
not arrested. However, they were beaten. They also searched a house without a
search warrant. These are examples as to how deviant acts vary by place,
individuals and the context of the behavior. The laws in the movie are made by
three wealthy White men. In the movie they were referred to the Three Wise Men.
The Three Wise men had high positions in the city which gave them regulation
ability. By these men status it can by hypothesized that they did not live in the
same zone as Alonzo. The Three Wise men most likely lived in Zone 4 which is
also called the Residential Zone. The Residential Zone is where white collared and
professionals live. Alonzo s neighborhood would be Zone 2 which is called Zone in
Transition.

Zero Tolerance Policy Paper
A.Zero tolerance policies
According to Wilson (2014), zero tolerance refers to strict, uncompromising,
automatic punishment to eliminate undesirable behavior. There is a link between the
criminalization of youth and zero tolerance policies (Wilson, 2014). Zero tolerance
policies have been associated with the term school to prison pipeline and are found in
schools across the nation. These policies lead to school failure and exclusion
which in turn result in bad life outcomes and mass incarceration of boys and young
men of color (Wilson, 2015). Superpredators became the label for juveniles during
the late 80 s and early 90 s because there was a rise in high profile violent and drug
related crimes. Boot camps became popular during this period

Her mother was executed of false charges if incest and adultery on May 19, 1536. Her father then married his third wife Jane Seymour who passed while giving birth to Henry s long wanted son, Edward. At a young age it was very obvious that she was very gifted at learning and was well educated. In January of 1547 her father died and his son became King Edward VI. The migrants faced extreme hunger, diseases and exhaustion due to the forced march while more than 50,000 people died (Cave, 2003). The Trail of Tears resulted in a devastating effect for the Indians such as extreme hunger, diseases and exhaustion due to long walk and massive injustices and abuse of fundamental human rights. According to Perdue (2008), the Trail of Tears is regarded as one of the tragic eras in the U.S. history mainly due to the forceful relocation of the Indians. However, the white

For some of the cells, we had to apply a dye to have make the cell more visible under the microscope. Methylene blue was applied to the cheek cells and iodine to the onion cells. To see the cheek cells, we had to reduce the amount of light coming into the microscope. We had to do this because when we reduced the amount of light, we could see the cells more clear. • 10. Character Analysis of Gabriel in James Joyce s The Dead Gabriel: The hollow man of James Joyce s short story The Dead In James Joyce s short story The Dead, the character of Gabriel begins the story confident of what he knows, and ends the story depressed, realizing he is a hollow shell of a man. The T.S. Eliot poem The Wasteland famously portrays a world in which all meaning is lost, and men are hollow and stuffed with nothing of true substance. What are the roots that clutch, what branches grow/Out of this stony rubbish? asks Eliot in his famous poem. In the critical final scene of The Dead, Gabriel realizes that despite living with his wife for many years, he knows little of her true character. As Eliot says: I will show you fear in a handful of dust. By the end of the story, Gabriel feels that his life is a mere handful of dust. The story begins with Gabriel and his wife paying a call upon the Morkan sisters for a holiday party. The sisters make Gabriel feel very important, and Gabriel takes himself extremely seriously, which is most clearly manifested in his long winded speech, toasting the participants during the middle of the party. As symbolized in the amount of concern he devotes to small details, like his galoshes, Gabriel is obsessed with dust or minutiae, and is unable to see the big picture, gazing at the world with the fragmented perspective of one of Eliot s Wasteland characters. Gabriel takes himself seriously and is often taken aback by any challenge to his fragile sense of masculinity. He

  • 16. The Feminist Movement During The Romantic Era During the Romantic Era, gender roles were already set in stone. Women were expected to do certain things, as were men, and they only did such. These clear standards were held very highly in society, however, as many people felt obligated to society to continue with these standards, there were always people who had a different opinion. Women such as Mary Wollstonecraft identified men as the root cause for the need of a change in society. In contrast there were women like Anna Letitia Barbauld who felt that if women truly loved their husban,d, being an equal gendershould not matter. These two approaches, although very different, made up the beginning of the feminist movement during this era. Women were expected to basically be merely an object, even a trophy for their husbands. They were expected to stay home and clean, as well as cook. With all these expected tasks, women hardly had any time to branch out and figure out what they wanted to do with their life. They had no time for leisure activities of any kind because, of course, their activities involved taking care of the house. Women were also seen as the weaker sex, always submissive to their dominant male counterpart. Although the women were submissive, they were held to a higher moral standard. Adultery was twice shamed upon if committed by a woman rather than a man. (Hughes par.3) A woman could be stoned to death, but people would turn their cheek for a man while the woman still was expected to stay beside the man.

Other than that, the tagline of Cadbury Free to Joy , it is easy to remember also. In context and content, I will be more prefer to the Kit Kat advertisement. It is because the design looks simple but had the own meaning in the
  • 31. Essay On Glow Worm In GSO, each glow worm, agent, carries a light on two dimensional works space and has its own vision, called local decision range. The luciferin level is associated with the objective value of the agent s position. The brighter agent means that it flies to a better position (has a better objective value). The agent is only attracted by a neighbor whose luciferin intensity is higher than its own within the local decision range and then flies towards the neighbor. The local decision range depends on the number of neighbors. While the neighbor density is low, the range is enlarged in order to find more neighbors, otherwise the range is reduced. The agent always changes its moving direction according to which neighbor is selected. The higher luciferin level the neighbor has, the more attraction which gains. Finally, most agents willget together at the multiple locations. Briefly, the GSO involves in three main phases: luciferin update phase, movement phase, and decision range update. Step 1: luciferin update... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although all glowworms start with the same luciferin value of the initial iteration, these values change according to the function values at their current positions. The luciferin value is proportional to the measured value of the sensed profile (temperature, radiation level) at that location. Each glowworm adds its previous luciferin level. At the same time, the luciferin level of glowworm is subtracted the previous luminescence value to simulate the decay in luminescence. The luciferin update rule is given by: (3) where , represents the luciferin level associated with glow worm i at time t, is the luciferin decay constant , is the luciferin enhancement constant, and represents the value of objective function at agent i s locaton at time

  • 33. Critical Analysis Of Amadeus Perplexing, intriguing, and haunting, Amadeus leaves the viewer with an impression of tragedy and mastery. While the film highlights the finest musical qualities of its main character, Mozart, it primarily casts a dark and solemn tone upon most of the story and eventually leads to his unfortunate fate. Because the film features the point of view from the antagonist, Salieri, it attempts to cause the viewer to sympathize with a flawed and broken character. Furthermore, the film frustrates the viewer with the foolish decisions of Mozart, despite the best efforts of his wife Costanza, and the lack of any moral conclusion or remorse from Salieri. In doing this, it emphasizes realism and a brutal reality over an idealistic or hopeful ending. In fact, those characteristics provide most of the primary merits that make this film memorable to this day, even though the film differs vastly from actual history. While Amadeus features a marvelous soundtrack taken from the writings of Mozart himself and emphasizes the finest qualities of true talent, the melodies themselves cannot dispel the final thoughts surrounding the tragic fates of both Mozart and Salieri. While the movie contains complex twists and storyline, the plot contains all the hallmarks of a powerful tragedy. Told from the perspective of Salieri, the film gives his perspective on the life and death of Mozart. It shows how Mozart rises from a child prodigy to one of the top composers in Vienna, despite his childishness and

Helicobacter pylori is an interesting specimen to study because while some information is known on shape formation of bacterial cells (Bacillius, Coccus, Vibrio), little to no information is known of the factors that produce Helicobacter pylori s shape. In reality, when Helicobacter pylori forms it must elongate itself, have curvature and twist itself in a specific manor to gain it s final shape. • 39. Deviant Behavior in the Movie, Training Day The movie Training Day has a lot of deviant behavior in it. In this movie it is difficult to determine who is and what is deviant. Deviant behavior is acceptable in certain situations. Even though, Alonzo and Jake are police officers they participated in deviant behavior. Jake and Alonzo partook in doing coke in the car while, parked in the middle of a busy intersection. They were also drinking while on the job. In any other profession or situation the policewould have been called and they would have been arrested. However, since they are police officers they control who will and who will not be arrested. For example, the three teenagers that bought coke were scared but not arrested. This happened again with two men tried to rape a teenage girl were also, not arrested. However, they were beaten.
