Othello Essay On Iago
Crafting an essay on the character Iago from Shakespeare's play "Othello" is a challenging
endeavor that requires a deep understanding of the complexities within the character. Iago is a
multifaceted antagonist, and delving into his motivations, manipulations, and the psychological
intricacies behind his actions demands a comprehensive analysis.
To begin with, comprehending Iago's character necessitates a thorough exploration of the play
itself. One must dissect Iago's relationships with other characters, especially with Othello, and
unravel the layers of deception that he weaves. Additionally, understanding the historical and
cultural context of the play is crucial to appreciate the nuances of Iago's character in the context
of the time it was written.
Moreover, writing an essay on Iago requires a keen examination of his soliloquies and dialogues.
Analyzing his language, rhetorical devices, and the subtle cues that Shakespeare embeds in the
text is imperative to capture the essence of Iago's cunning nature. Unraveling the psychological
depths of Iago's mind and exploring the theories behind his villainy adds another layer of
complexity to the essay.
Furthermore, one must grapple with the moral and ethical dimensions of Iago's actions. Delving
into the philosophical aspects of the character's malevolence, the concept of evil, and the
motivations that drive Iago's deceit can be intellectually demanding.
In conclusion, writing an essay on Iago is a formidable task that demands a fusion of literary
analysis, historical understanding, and philosophical exploration. Only through meticulous
research and a nuanced interpretation of the character can one hope to do justice to the
intricacies of Iago's role in "Othello."

Impact on the Environment of Electrical and Electronics...
Impact on the Environment of Electrical and Electronics Products
Introduction
Electrical and Electronics products are now commonly found all around the world
and the number is on the rise. The amount of such products that is being disposed is
also on the rise. There is a concern on the environmental effect by such products that
is being disposed as well as when it is being manufacturer. This is because most of
these products contain either harmful substance or non bio degradable materials
which cause an impact on the environment.
For these reasons, regulations and directives are being set up to safe guard and prevent
more harm from being done to the environment.
This report would be discussing on the harmful effects by traditional ... Show more

Even in situations where the copper is recovered and the etchant is regenerated by
the waste hauler, this waste stream may be an environmental hazard. Transportation
of the spent etchant and its ultimate disposition may pose environmental risks and
result in increased liability for the PCB facility.
1.3 Disposal of electronic equipments
Electronic equipment is considered hazardous because of the presence of lead,
mercury, cadmium, chromium, and some types of retardants. For example, some
monitors can contain up to 27% lead. There are four main ways which electronic
equipment can be disposed. They are incineration, resale, donation and recycling.
Destruction of electronics equipment means incineration. Businesses are allowed to
dispose of their hazardous waste in this manner, but the destruction then falls under
more restrictive hazardous waste rules. The incineration process yields some
environmentally dirty residue and it is thus not an entirely green option.
Superficially, resale, looks like a good option. It generates profits for the company,
the buyers are happy, and the electronics are disposed of. However, liability and
administration concerns become an issue. Properly administering a sales program
takes time and paperwork, and one has to consider whether used electronics sales are
really what the company is in business to do.
Donation is also a valid option. However, electronics are classified as hazardous
Describe The Changes Of The Theatre In The 1920 s
There were many physical changes that took place with the theatres and the
productions. Depression hit New York pretty hard, 1.6 million out of 7 million
people were in some sort of welfare programs, as well as one third of the city s
factories were forced to be shutdown. Theatres were either closed down or were
tuned into movie houses. Production output slowed down, before the depression
there were 264 productions between 1927 28 and then during the depression,
(1930 31) there was only 187 productions, because it was difficult to fundraise
money. It was also very difficult to get a job in a theatrical field during the
recession, there were about five thousand people that were jobless. 2. In the late
1920 s Flo Ziegfeld was in a courtroom fighting off a $1600 tab, as he was walking
home the stock market began to crash. Flo ended up losing over 3 million in
investments, which depressed him greatly. In the past Ziegfeld did a few motion
picture projects, so he was able to sell the rights to some of the... Show more content

Yip Harburg was born into poverty in 1896. While attending college, Harburg
became great friends with Ira Gershwin. At first Harburg went into the electrical
supply business with another classmate, but business went bankrupt. Harburg then
ended up contacting Gershwin, who ended up leasing him money because was
broke and also referred him to the composer Jay Gorney. Gorney and Harburg
worked tirelessly together and they landed a new job with a revue called New
Americana which was centered on the forgotten man. The song that was
emblematic of the depression era was Brother Can You Spare a Dime? . Brother
Can You Spare a Dime? was sung and made popular by Bing Crosby, but it was
written by Yip Harburg. Harburg got the inspiration for this song because along the
streets of New York there were lines of people who had fallen through tough times
awaiting for bread and soup. Often around the street of New York the most common
slogan was can you spare a
The Cruelty Of Animal Cruelty
Hypocrisy comes to mind as I grudgingly watch a woman eat a cheeseburger while
wearing a t shirt with the phrase My Favorite Breed is RESCUED blasted on the
front. With every bite I delve deeper into the question of what exactly is animal
cruelty and why does society differentiate between which animals are worthy and not
worthy of liberation. Humans have not only been hidden skillfully from the
atrocious truth that is factory farming, but many choose to remain ignorant as it is
easier to ignore the cries of cattle than to give up a delicious cheeseburger. Selfishly,
we have become content in our societally programmed sheltered view of the world.
Fortunately, for us, we can escape the shelter willingly, for the animals in factory
farming,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Needless to say, the undercover investigation exposed Pilgrim s cruelty to animals,
yet the Harnett County District Attorney of North Carolina, Vernon Stewart,
ultimately decided not to burden this case with criminal charges (Staff, COK ).
Perhaps, if animal cruelty laws were taken seriously and implemented truly for all
animals, more would ve been done to make this unlawful behavior obsolete.
Furthermore, a form of animal neglect is hoarding. Hoarding is described by the
Hoarding of Animals Research Consortium as the accumulation of a large amount
of animals, resulting in a lack of nutrition, sanitation, veterinary care, and failure to
recognize these deteriorating conditions of being harmful to both the animal and
caretaker ( Hoarding ). There are several laws prohibiting hoarding in every state
and the individuals who participate can be prosecuted either by fines, jail time or
banned from animal ownership. For example, section 31 19 1 of New Mexico s
Statutes declares that any defendant convicted of animal neglect can be imprisoned
up to one year and fined up to 1,000 dollars ( 2006 ). This law only applies to
domesticated animals and not livestock, thus leaving pigs the devastation of
standing on gestation crate floors covered in ammonia ridden feces. Full grown pigs
are crammed into the 27 by 80 inch crates, in facilities that often have more than 20
sows [mother pigs] per row and 100 more
Aristotle Involuntary Action
In general, humans have the ability to think through their decision and choose
which course of action to take. On the conceptual level, it seems easy to determine
voluntary from involuntary acts. However, in real world decisions, some of the
distinctions between the two are not as clear and the type of action is blurred. In
this paper, I will defend Aristotle view s on the grey, or mixed, areas of voluntary and
involuntary actions. Aristotle opens Book III Chapter I of Nicomachean Ethicswith
These [feelings and actions] receive praise or blame if they are voluntary, but
pardon, sometime even pity, if they are involuntary. (Nicomachean Ethics 1109b30).
Based on these reactions of society, it seems we should be able to easily distinguish...

But maybe not in the exact moment it is happening, but some action that you
previously made led you to the point were you are at now. So if it was voluntary
choice then, would it make its consequences voluntary? In order for something to
be completely involuntary, Aristotle believes the person must ...feel pain and
regret for his action. (Nicomachean Ethics 1110b20), which could define the
involuntary consequences of voluntary actions. He uses examples of animals and
children as not acting voluntarily, and I believe the mentally ill could also fall
under this category. However, not all will show pain and regret for their bad
actions if they were not raised that way. It is in a lion s nature to kill, and is praised
for doing so by its peers, however it is blamed if its prey is human. But the lion
won t show pain or regret for either kill, because it is not in it s nature to. For a
child or mentally ill person, they may not have been raised to feel bad about
shameful acts, or may not be able to control themselves. While these examples are
not viewed as correct on a moral or social level, it is just the participant s basic
nature and they do not always show remorse, even if it is an involuntary action. So
while I believe Aristotle is correct in describing these actions as involuntary, they do
not fit well in his definition. I

Biographical Analysis of John Mcwhorter
Han Bin Kim Comp II, Class B Assignment 2, Draft 1 February 23, 2013 John
McWhorter Interview Over the years I have interviewed a good number of people,
but there has never been anyone quite like John McWhorter. Upon reading the
article The Cosmopolitan Tongue: The Universality of English as published in the
2009 Fall edition of World Affairs, I found myself delighted by the mellow but
powerful tone and the writer who could use it with such ease. Here was a man with
brains, consideration, and humor. Lost in my reveries about what McWhorter would
be like, I didn t quite realize that I had somehow dialed his office number until a
deep voice filtered through the receiver. Yes? McWhorter speaking. With a tingling
sense of nervousness I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These little considerate actions which I had noticed during the phone call and the
three minutes I had met him, inspired me to ask if he had always been so
considerate. He looked surprised. I have never thought myself considerate, he said
slowly, I am often told that I am too frank with my words. Before I make my
opinion on something, I look at it from all perspectives to check that it is perfectly
reasonable and logical. But once I make it, I say it without stopping to think if
people who think otherwise will be hurt by my words. I protested. I had already
known that he was a considerate person just by reading his article; namely, the
welcoming way with which he drew his readers in: Most Americans pronounce
disgusting as diss kusting with a k sound. (Try it you probably do too.)
(McWhorter, 248) The tall man leaned back in the armchair and laughed. My dear
friend, every writer is obligated to welcome his readers. Readers are the laziest
species that ever drew breath, and if they don t feel welcomed, they won t read. As
for being patient in littler things well, I don t know if this is very relevant or not,
but I read five versions of the Talmud, each one progressively harder, when I was in
middle school. I m pretty sure junior high was when my interest in Hebrew peaked.
The Talmud was a pretty good source of linguistic and cultural knowledge, and some
of the moral standards made pretty logical sense, so I adopted them as my own. It
was relevant. Being
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Described as a Sticking
Plaster
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has been described as a В‘sticking plaster for the
problems that people may bring to counselling (Observer, 19/02/06). With
reference to the literature, critically evaluate the arguments for and against this
view. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a combination of two kinds of
therapy; cognitive therapy and behavioural therapy (Bush, 2005). It has been
shown to have a positive impact on a wide range of mood and anxiety disorders,
such as depression, insomnia and panic attacks as well as more recently psychosis
(schizophrenia). However, whether or not CBT actually solves the issue at hand or
simply covers it up, as a sticking plaster (Martin Helmore, 2006) has recently been a
topic of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gloaguen (1998) used meta analysis to compare the use of CBT and behavioural
therapy in treating patients with depression. The study was controlled for using
waiting list and placebo controls. CBT was found to be superior when compared
to the controls, and also when compared to behavioural therapy, although most of
the behavioural therapy trials analysed were uncontrolled. This aside, when
compared to control groups CBT does have an advantage over no treatment, which
is evidence of the concept that it is better than nothing for individuals suffering
from depression as it can improve their quality of life. A recent trial (DeRubeis et
al., 2005) found antidepressants (serotonin reuptake inhibitors) to be equally as
effective in the treatment of individuals with moderate to severe as CBT. Although
both treatments can be seen as equally effective, the use of CBT does not require
people to ingest drugs, so if both are equally as effective the CBT would be the
clear choice for individuals with depression. The evidence for the area of
depression and the usefulness of CBT is mixed, in spite of this, it s merits are
clearly obvious. Another area where CBT is used is in the treatment of individuals
with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). The use of CBT in this are has been
more successful with not only alleviating the symptoms of

beef, pork, beans, alfalfa, and hay. The alfalfa and hay is for the cows in the winter

Metal recycling is another important part of agriculture. Clayton County Recycling

are in the agriculture business work varied hours so this is convenient. When a
farmer puts up a new fence he has to get rid of the old fencing. Some load it on a

civilization advances when people are able to apply the right information at the right

Interoperability means the degree to which two products, programs and many more

heterogeneity consisting of parts or things that are very different from each other.
Most of library users depend on library services in getting information needed. In this
situation, when digital libraries want to provide information, it is important to have a
good relationship between heterogeneity and interoperability. To achieve a good
interoperability, the exchange information in heterogeneity should covers all types of
syntactic structural, semantic diversities among system to modeling information.
Besides that, it should be consistent between the use of the information as intended
by its originator and the intended exploitation of it by the recipient. This thing need
to be considerate to fulfill the need of library users that comes from many different

Based on your analysis of the company s situation, does it appear that the good hotel

The good hotel concept created a new market of consumers looking for lodging but
did not want to have the same experience provided by chain hotels. By coming off
more personable they project a homely feel which has large appeal when looking
for a place to sleep. They have been effectively competing against the peer group

If there is a single most important event that happened in television that caused major

rebelling, but complying with these new rules and censoring themselves. For
starters Victoria s Secret cancelled its annual fashion show, on television, this year.
Fox is trying to clean up its act by employing people to monitor its star reality

who spent part of his time on the show naked. NBC planned to show a woman s

ABC also planed on showing a racy sex scene on their show NYPD Blue, but
because the show was played before 10:00 in Central and Mountain Time the scene
was darkened to show less. Stemming from the Janet Jackson incident many live

Reflection Of Baptistism And Baptists
I grew up in the Methodist denomination and through this type of teaching or
direction, I had never experienced anything else. I believed that the different doctrines
practiced were universal activities every Christian practiced. I felt very immature in
my faith before going to Hardin Simmons University. Through the different classes at
Logsdon, finding my home church in Abilene, and figured out the theology I
believed in aside from my upbringing. Although I have grown up Methodist most of
my life, I would say my denomination classification has shifted to Baptist. I am still
learning many aspects of Baptist doctrine, cooperation, and distinctives. That being
said, growing up in a different denomination other than Baptist, I have had the
opportunity to have real life comparisons in my belief system. There are certain
Methodist activities that still feel more comfortable than Baptist aspects, but the
majority of my theology has foundation built on a Baptist denomination. Therefore,
this reflection will show a combination of Baptist affiliation and Methodist.
Over the years I have realized that the Methodist church appears to have more liberal
aspects than Baptists. The church that I grew up in never taught about Methodist
history. There are rooms named after the one of the founders and his mother: John
and Susanna Wesley. Other than those two glances in history of the Methodist
denomination there is not much talk. I enjoyed learning about the many significant
times in Baptist
The State Of California s Financial Report
In the second half of this paper, I will analyze is the State of California s Financial
Report. The government is not a nonprofit, although they are quite similar; therefore,
the government s financial report will be evaluated using different methods and from
different perspectives. To get a broad overview of this government, first, the financial
position and economic condition of the State of Californiawill be evaluated. Then,
things with more depth, such as budget planning, funds, and infrastructure, will be
discussed.
As taxpayers, people are required to pay imposed taxes and derived taxes. Since
payments are not voluntary as opposed to nonprofits, people want to know where the
government currently stands, whether it has sufficient revenues for efficiently
running current public services, and how much it has improved compared to last
year. Examining government wide financial statements will give readers a basic
understanding of the government s condition. The government wide financial
statements consist two parts: the statement of net position and the statement of
activities. Based on the statement of net position, in 2015, the State of California
has a deficit of about $41.0 billion. Compared to the past 10 fiscal years, the fiscal
year of 2015 has the least amount of total governmental activity net position and total
primary government net position. In addition, the unrestricted deficit as a percentage
of total assets is 75.64%, which is close to 100%. This number
Students Suffering From Mental Health
Mental health Introduction Surveys conducted this past year have shown that
95% of college campuses have shown a rise in students that suffer from a
significant psychological concern (Mistler, et.al. 2013). Why are so many college
students suffering from mental health nowadays? And how can we help these
students get better? These are questions that are very important to many colleges
across America. We need to find a solution to this problem and that if people work
together we could find a solution for many college campuses in Ohio. What if we
set up more counseling centers in colleges or what if we give out mandatory
mental health evaluation sheets? How can we come to this solution? These are all
questions that were carried out in various situations in Warren Berger s A More
Beautiful Question in the reading it talks about how you should question what
happens and if you see a problem do, something to fix it (Berger). Mental health is
a very important concern, that should be more of a concern to college campuses all
around Ohio. Problem Statement Everybody knows that your health is an important
thing to maintain. You go to the doctors to get checkups and if you get sick you go
and get checked out. That is usually the case for your physical health but what about
your mental health? Not everyone gets that in check and a lot of people suffer from
mental problems mainly college freshman. According to the National Alliance on

Charles Darwin s Inherit The Wind By Jerome Lawrence...
Charles Darwin once wrote I am not apt to follow blindly the lead of other men, a
bold statement that epitomized his experimental and revolutionary approach in
science during his lifetime. Darwin s controversial Theory of Evolution caused a
paradigm shift in the centrally fundamentalist society of his time. Inherit The Wind
by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee was loosely based on the historical Scopes
Trial in 1925; the trial exemplified conflicting beliefs between evolutionand
creationism. In the play two men represent two opposing forces at large lawyer
Henry Drummond advocates for man s right to think and right to be wrong. while
politician Matthew Harrison Brady complies to the Bible s teachings or Living Truth
of the
Scriptures. Comparatively, Drummond and Brady are analogous in that they are both
respectable, well known, and fairly confident men willing to fight for their causes in
valiant manners. Drummond and Brady similarly hold notable positions in their
society, however, essentially serve as character foils to each other, varying greatly in
differences between their own set of values, intentions, and mindsets. Drummond and
Brady both yield adamant positions in the case. Drummond serves to defend Bertram
Cates, the underdog, while Brady volunteers as prosecutor to stand up against the
moral injustices done unto the innocent children of Hillsboro. Nevertheless, their
mentalities in participating in the case prove to be different as Drummond displays
Nozick s Theory Of False Reality
Our perception of the world around us is entirely dependant on the validity of
reality. Our world could be produced or simulated by some sort of machine, or life
is actually just a dream someone dreamt up one night. Reality is dependent on our
perception, which is affected by what truly exists. Meaning that if we, as a single
person, are the only thing that actually exists, then that proves that reality is
indeed not real. But considering this point is considered Solipsism, there s enough
evidence to go against it. Disproving solipsism is the key to support the idea that
reality is real. The philosophical theory of a false reality can be traced all the way
back to Plato s Allegory of the Cave, where 3 prisoners are trapped in a cave and...

And if that is the case, then there is a good chance that other people don t exist as
well. Of course, even if the world around us isn t true, humanity could all be under
the same illusion. As Hilary Putnam puts it, Instead of having just one brain in a vat,
we could imagine that all human beings (perhaps all sentient beings) are brains in a
vat (or nervous systems in a vat in case some beings with just nervous systems count
as sentient ). Of course, the evil scientist would have to be outside? or would he?
Perhaps there is no evil scientist, perhaps (though this is absurd) the universe just
happens to consist of automatic machinery tending a vat full of brains and nervous
systems. This time let us suppose that the automatic machinery is programmed to
give us all a collective hallucination, rather than a number of separate unrelated
hallucinations. Thus, when I seem to myself to be talking to you, you seem
A Study On Genetic Programming
Genetic Programming GP is an evolutionary computing method that uses the
principle of Darwinian natural selection in order to create computer programs to
solve a problem. Koza introduced GP (1992) as a branch of genetic algorithm. GP
covers a high level of diversity by breeding random different computer program as the
population. The programs are structured like trees containing functions and terminals.
A function set and a terminal set should be defined as the sources of functions and
terminals. If they are rich enough, tree structures are able to reach any complexity.
The function set, for example, can be built of arithmetic operation (+, в€’, Г
—, or
Г·), Boolean logic functions (AND, OR, NOT, etc), mathematical functions (sin, cos,
log), conditional functions (IF, THEN, ELSE), or any other functions. The terminal
set can be included of variables, numerical constants, functions with no argument, etc.
Random functions and terminals form a treelike structure program. Branches that
contain functions and terminals are connected to the root point. A typical example of
GP tree is shown in (FIG) Defining terminal and function sets actually determine the
search space. GP starts a blind search for solution by creating random initial
population within the search area. GP measure the fitness of each individual and the
ones with better fitness are chosen for building the next generation by mutation, cross
over or direct reproduction [1]. During the reproduction, some of the population
Summary Of The Ragged Road To Abolitionism
The famous Garden State with its rich and varied heritage and agriculture is today
home of the Liberty State Park. From there one has a good view of Liberty Island,
the location of the Statue of Liberty, symbol of freedom and everything America
represents to the rest of the world. New Jersey, described as a place, where slaves
live yet it is supposedly a place of copious opportunities. Therefore, the role of
America, especially the role of New Jersey, is not only controversial but also
relatively intricate. Although New Jersey is a source of the early abolitionist
movement, slaverywas profound in the colonial society, which resulted in a high
potential combative whether it should be abolished or not. , Slavery s complexity
in America, can be best depicted through the northern state, New Jersey, as
exemplified in James Gigantino s book The Ragged Road to Abolition. New
Jersey s unique geographical position, dependence on agriculture, and a fear of
black freedom after the American Revolution were factors that hindered an
abolitionist movement in the state. As a central proxy for slavery in the north till
Civil War, early travel accounts labeled the state as a place where slavery is a thing
that endures, while those accounts also highlight New Jersey as a state that offers
plenty opportunities. , Then, also known as Crossroads of the American Revolution ,
New Jersey s anti abolitionist tried to justify their strive for freedom as being for
whites only.
Gangs And Gang Crimes All Together
I have chosen to write my paper on Gangs and Gang crimes all together. I want to
explain the history and reasoning of modern gangs and how and why they came
about. I also want to give examples of some of the most common gangs known
world wide and examples of the crimes they commit. I will also include insight on
the reasoning behind the joining of gangs. Lastly, I would like to go into some detail
about the criminal investigation of gangcrimes. I have chosen this topic because I
believe it is one that we don t give enough credit to in the current increase in crime
rate. Today s gangs of violent young offenders aggressive if you will terrorize and
put pressure on neighborhoods in over three quarters of America s largest cities.
These collectivities may include only one third of at risk youth, but the members that
are held accountable are only about 80% of the serious delinquencies among minors.
Now, even though juvenile violence and crime is connected to inferior
socioeconomic conditions and racial issues, it has been understood that gangs nurture
and structure young offenders towards futures of crime. Their entire existence is on
the belief that the youth will grow up and become part of their legacy as they call it.
Now, to understand street gangs and the crimes they commit in its seriousness, one
must understand what a street gang is. Street gangs are groups or gangs, having a
year history, or having a large membership and being somewhat organized, and being
involved
Definition Of The Problem Of Public Schools
Chapter 1: DEFINITION OF THE PROBLEM
Introduction
Education is the foundation of success. The operation and oversight of public schools
in the United States is typically the responsibility of states and local communities .
(Anderson, L.) Parents make decisions about their children s education with the hope
that they are receiving a quality education that prepares them for college and
eventually a successful career. The amount of funding available for education
influences the effectiveness and efficiency of the institution. The enrollment
population along with teacher student ratio are inputs which effect learning
proficiency. The household income influences the area a family can afford to live and
the geographic location determines ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The clear statement is that individuals without an education are at a disadvantage
compared to those with an education. The economic status of most households does
not allow for parents to be able to afford private school tuition, the alternative is a
public school. The options to choose for public funded schools are charter or standard
public school. Are charter school academic performance achievements better than
standard private schools?
The sub problems which will be addressed in this project are 1) Student to teacher
ratio and the effect is had on academic proficiency. 2) The expenditure per student
cost and the effect on SAT/ACT averages.3) Graduation percentages and the
probability of attending higher education institutions. 4) Teacher certifications
/experience according to the No Child Left behind Act and the comparison between
charter and public schools.
Purpose of the Research
The objective of this research is to determine if attendance to a charter school
increases the chances of a student continuing on to a post secondary institution. The
research will examine the performance testing results between charter and standard
public schools. The research will uncover whether charter school graduates have a
significant advantage over public school graduates. If there is a distinct advantage,
should independent school districts look into increasing its
Aristotle s Four Main Causes Essay
To some the causes and effects of things are mutually exclusive, and coexistence with
one another. When observing specific equipment or even life, the question stands that
there must be an account that took place before such items ceased to exist.
Particularly, Aristotle argues that each thing, whatever it may be, will have causes,
or types of explanatory factors by which that thing can be explained. The significant
knowledge of causes allows for specific accounts to be known. It s like questioning
what occurred first the chicken or the egg. Anything in life offers a question of cause;
something must have been in order to bring about the nature of today. These causes
are apparent in answering everyday questions, which in turn explains that... Show

The first causes of things are the Material cause: that from which, as a constituent
present in it, a thing comes to be. Material cause relates to the corporeal cause of a
specific object (194b,24). The material cause consequently transpires for the reason
that the parts constituents as materials. Next, the elucidation of the causes is a direct
derivative from its own portions such as elements, components, materials, establishing
entire thing. Aristotle refers to bronze and silver as models of material cause; which
describes that the elements are the causes of a statue. So having bronze will
ultimately lead one to a statue. In referring to change the bronze transforms into
the statue. Physically the statue must undergo some process to change its current
state into a statue. The material causes of things allow us to function. For example
the beds that we sleep on every day and the homes or dorms people walk into are a
material cause of some builder or manufactures. Aristotle wrote That we must
acquire knowledge, of the original causes since we say we know a thing whenever
we think we know its primary cause (983a, 24 16). Aristotle draws a discrepancy
amongst potential and practicality. This is directly correlated to the process of
change and motion. Change can be described as an object taking on a new form. The
object has the potential to convert into something different, and change is actually the
potential of one form of matter to become another form of
Negative Effects Of Factory Farming
Imagine walking into a supermarket and walking over to the meat section, picking
up a steak for dinner that night and not knowing how that steak got packaged and
in that supermarket. That is a very common scenario for many people living in the
United States that have no idea where their food comes from. The U.S. has faced
many different expansions on how food is processed and the types of food that are
consumed. Over the years, more processed foods are being introduced to the market
and therefore the consumer s diets are being affected. Because the demand of food is
being increased over the years, factory farminghas become more popular because it is
an easier way to meet the needs of consumers. FactoryFaming is defined as a system
of rearing livestockusing intensive methods, by which poultry, pigs, or cattle are
confined indoors under strictly controlled conditions. . It is a massive industry that
gains millions of revenue a year, and therefore it is one of the largest types of
businesses in the United States. Along with the massive amount of revenue that it
creates because of this process, there are negative factors that overall affects the
common good, for example not caring for the well being of animals and the
consumers, as well as damaging the environment. Since the negative effects are
greater than the only positive effect that these factory farms have, the question; is the
monetary value greater than the well being of the living and the environment.

How James Joyce Challenges His Readers in Ulysses and Finnegans Wake
In the history of written literature, it is difficult not to notice the authors who expand
their reader s style and manner of reading. Some write in an unusual syntax which
forces the reader to utilize new methods of looking at a language; others employ
lengthy allusions which oblige the reader to study the same works the author drew
from in order to more fully comprehend the text. Some authors use ingenious and
complicated plots which warrant several readings to be understood. But few authors
have used all these and still more devices to demand more of the reader. James Joyce,
writer of Ulysses and Finnegans Wake, uses extraordinarily inventive and... Show

This pattern holds true to the close of both books: Odysseus returns home to his wife
after a long journey looking much different than when he had left, and by
demonstrating knowledge that only they know, proves to her that he is indeed
Odysseus. In Ulysses, Bloom returns home to Molly after his long journey and her
last thoughts of him, while she is falling asleep in bed, are of past things which only
they share (a romantic tryst of their past):
...how he kissed me under the Moorish wall and I thought well as well him as
another and then I asked him with my eyes to ask again yes and then asked me
would I yes to say yes my mountain flower and first I put my arms around him yes
an d drew him down to me so he could feel my breasts all perfume yes and his heart
was going like mad and yes I said yes I will Yes. (Ulysses 768)
Throughout the novel, Joyce makes his readers not only know the Odyssey well
enough to recognize situations out of it, but also be aware of symbols and
people representing characters, such as the motif of pins representing the
needle teeth of the Lestrygonians in that chapter (Barger)
Finnegans Wake is somewhat different. Instead of paralleling his characters

A race is a group of people who see themselves, and are seen by others, as having
hereditary traits that set them apart (Hughes Kroehler, 2013, p. 213). People
naturally make judgements about a person based on their looks, especially when
they don t share the same hereditary triats. I have judged a person based on what
they looked like without even knowing them. You have to make a conscious effort
to change the way you think. You truly can t judge a person until you know who
they are, which means looking past their outter apperance. In our book they talk
about a little boy named Gregory who had the outer apperance of a white person.

The Analysis of The Irish Stew by J.Jerome
Jerome Klapka Jerome was an English novelist and humorist. His books are loved
by readers even nowadays, though Jerome s contemporaries didn t give high praise
of his works and some literature critics thought that his novels and romances didn t
concern serious and actual problems of life being a little bit senselessness. But these
suggestions were erroneous. On the contrary we can see his attitude to modern
English reality and how he discloses absurdity of well established norms of behavior,
morals and manners. Jerome is best known for the humorous travelogue Three Men in
a Boat.

The author uses different stylistic devises to communicate to reader his image and
a comic situation happened to him as exact as he can. Actions of George seem to
be really silly because he tries to present himself as an expert in this sphere, we can
understand by his yearning to make a dinner, for example he wants to show his
friends what could be done up the river in the way of cooking. And soon in the end
of the extract reader can see the result of his attempts to do an Irish stew.
Harry plays there a role of such kind of a man who is a chap and simpleton. We can
see the funny side of the situation when he is ready to add a dead water rat into the
stew. He is a nice fellow and takes everything easy despite of George s big words
about the precedent.
Special attention should be also paid to the narrator Jerome. It s a usual thing the
presence of the narrator in Jerome s works of art. Here the narrator Jerome plays an
important role, it means that he steadily observes everything that happens and notices
all the nonsense of life, and moreover he comments on this or that situation speaking
ironically of it. For example the situation with the dead water rat, he thinks over if it
is such kind of sarcasm or a real desire to make a contribution to the dinner. The
purpose of the narrator is not the fighting with man s vices, it is a desire to show
things as they are not in satiric way but with the
Chronic Wasting Disease Analysis
Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) is a fatal neurodegenerative transmissible
spongiform encephalopathy (TSE ) found in some white tailed deer. CWD is
associated with diseases such as Mad Cow disease, Scrapie, and Creutzfeldt Jakob
disease. With well supported evidence it is hypothesized that CWD originated from
Scrapie. The causation of CWD is an abnormal form of PrPcwd prion. This prion is a
naturally occurring protein found in mammals. Prions lack genome and are highly
resistant to degradation. Chronic Wasting Diseasecan be transmitted by direct contact
between the animals and/or on resources such as salt licks. With a team, Chris
Janelle, studied white tail deer in Wisconsin. Over a 9,000 square mile sample
area, more than 185,000 deer were sampled by the Wisconsin DNR and more than
2,500 of those deer were CWD positive. The team collected data from 16,773 tested

Another interesting finding was that CWD affects the lymph nodes first, the brain
second, and shows clinical signs (drooling and weight loss) third. All those affected
places no matter what lead to death. Based on their study there were four
assumptions: deterministic transitions (between states), spatial homogeneity (210 sq.
miles), homogenous transmission and mixing (age, sex, infection), and no migration.
It is believed that CWD has been around since the late 60s early 70s, and derived
from scrapie or may be human induced. Janelle stated, Given estimated parameters
from data model is sensitive to adult survival influenced by magnitude of transmission
coefficients and harvest levels. It was noted that in Wisconsin the DNR aren t finding
ways to manage CWD, they are letting it run its course. Also, there were no policy

The Use Of Assistive Technology
There many reasons why assist technology (AT) is not used more in schools today,
according to the video. One reason is school administration and personnel lack the
knowledge of the many different assistive technologies available for students.
Likewise, the use of assistive technology is often not excluded in the planning
process. I believe most teachers mistakenly assume that the inclusion of AT in the
planning and implementation of instructions is more timing consuming then it really
is. In addition, I think many teachers mistakely assume that some of these
technologies would not benefit students other than students with disabilities. In the
video, the first AT device I saw was a electric wheelchair. This AT device allows

Education For Leisure Carol Ann Duffy
In her poem Education for Leisure , Carol Ann Duffy gives insight on troubled
teenagers, by portraying an extremely despondent narrator. The troubled disposition,
is a direct result of constantly being neglected by those around, as the narrator himself
states: I have had enough of being ignored. His ensuing killing spree, is therefore an
attempt to make his voice heard, and through this Duffy makes a powerful statement:
that those who are scorned by society, may attempt to gain the attention they desire,
by using even the most unorthodox of methods. The dreary atmosphere portrayed in
his words, along with his morose descriptions of the world around him, capture the
narrators melancholy, and it is thus Duffy s brilliant choices regarding... Show more

Having been constantly neglected, the narrator describes the world around him as a
sort of grey with boredom , and this is perhaps a fair reflection of the dullness he
feels in his life. Like the narrator s journey, the poem begins in a dark manner, and
spirals downwards, becoming before depressing, until the we are left with an
uncertain, twisted and ultimately haunting conclusion. The narrator s dismal
intentions are matched by an equally dreary tone, as we are aware from the
beginning that he has been driven to the point of killing in order to gain attention,
and as the events leading to the homicide ensue, we begin to understand the
circumstances of the narrator, and the tone becomes increasingly desolate, in order to
reflect the emptiness he feels as a result of his neglection. The ambiguous ending of
the poem is reflected in the twisted realization of the narrator, as he finds some sort of
enlightenment in killing. The pavements glitter suddenly and he moves forward to

The Tree of 40 Fruits
In 2008 Van Aken acquired the New York Agricultural Experiment Station orchard.

stock trees. This stock tree then tree accumulated branches from forty different donor
trees, each with a different fruit, including almond, apricot, cherry, nectarine, peach

This is possible because of proper grafting techniques and the trees biology.
Grafting a tree is a farming technique in which a piece of the donor tree s stem, with
buds, is inserted into the stock of a tree. This is done because seeds from fruit trees

In the callus differentiation gives rise to the two major types of plant vascular
tissue xylem and phloem. Xylem is responsible for keeping the plant hydrated and
can normally be fond towards the center of the plant. All Xylem cells are dead,
elongated and hollow. The two types of Xylem cells are tracheids and vessel
elements. Tracheids are found in most gymnosperms, ferns and lycophytes.
Tracheids cells are long, thin, and are connected together by tapered ends. The
tapered ends run alongside each other and have pits. These pits are holes in the
cell wall that allow for water to travel from cell to cell. The other type of Xylem is
vessel elements which form the xylem of almost all angiosperms. Vessel elements
are shorter and wider than tracheids. Also the vessel elements are connected end to
end and the ends contain what are known as perforation plates. Perforation plates
have a number of holes in their cell walls which allows for water to travel freely
between cells. Phloem is composed of living cells and transports important sugars,
organic compounds, nutrients and macromolecules. The nutritious sap within the
phloem travels by diffusion between cells. Phloem is made from cells called sieve
tube members and companion cells which are normally located on the outer layers of
the plant. Sieve tube members are cells that create chains of cells running the length
of the plant.

Iron In The Industrial Revolution
Characterized by an overarching innovative mindset, the Industrial Revolution
provided prime conditions for radical change and growth across all parts of society. A
flourishing economy meant that individuals, businesses, and governments alike had
the resources to dedicate to experimentation with new technology and ideas. As the
period gained momentum, Europeans in particular began to explore new ideas. This
was manifested in progress in the fields of literature, communication, transportation,
and most notably, science. There was a sharp spike in population that resulting in
forced changes to the number and scale of residential, commercial, and municipal

structural precedents had not been adopted, including mills, train stations, and large

Philip Hardwick in 1837 was one of the first examples of a train station. Due to both
the revolutionary typology and materiality, Hardwick established a precedent for
future stations with his design. Forty four foot columns provide connection between
modern form and historical Classicism. The two hundred foot long train shed and
articulated wrought iron roof became icons of the then burgeoning railroad system
for decades to come. Yet another contemporary building type of the Industrial
Revolution was the arcades that bridged streets lined with flourishing boutiques. The
healthy world economy at the time translated to increased luxury spending,
particularly by the newly informed middle class Parisians. The arcades designed to
protect shoppers from the elements were a fitting counterpart to the shops, centers of
trade symbolic to the industrial revolution. The linear structures, ten to seventeen
feet across, were recognized as a place for society s wealthy to see and be seen.

Christ of the Holy Bible and Dionysus of Euripides Essay
Christ of the Holy Bible and Dionysus of Euripides
Christ resembles Dionysus in many ways. Is it possible that Christ is simply an
extension of the Dionysian myth? Though the concepts of wine and faith unite the
two, the idea of revenge compared to self sacrifice separates the two deities.
Dionysus fits the Greek understanding of vengeful and selfish God that bear more
anthropomorphic traits than Godly traits. Christ, however, transcends human desires
for revenge and acts in self sacrifice. This is the key separation between them.
The similarity between the two Gods is striking. Dionysus is associated with wine
and revelry. Christ forever associated himself with wine and celebration through the
act of Communion and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is said that before he died he cried out, It is finished. The last words that the chorus
speaks echo the same thought. It is finished. That is not the only surprising thing.
The Bible tells of God s struggle to find a way to salvage the relationship with his
children. The last line of the Bacchae reverberates the concept of the Godly struggle
to find the right action.
The motives of Dionysus are extremely perplexing to a modern audience. I will go;
for that which fate forbids, can never befall me. For this thy mockery be sure
Dionysus will exact a recompense of thee even the god whose existence thou deniest;
for thou art injuring him by haling me to prison (Euripides 28).
John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. The quote from the
Bacchae is rooted in Dionysus s individual desire for revenge upon those who
snubbed him by not believing in him. Nowhere in the text is Dionysus noted for
performing any large acts of self sacrifice. The story of Jesus, on the other hand is
based in self sacrifice. According to John 3:16, Christ allowed himself to die on the
cross to take on the pain of every person in the world. The contrast in motivations
between the two divinities is startling whether or not one believes either to be truth.

Tension In Rwanda Genocide
World History II Colonial Legacies Research Paper
In 1994, a brutal battle of discrimination and hatred erupted. In the central African
country of Rwanda, a long brewing tension broke out in a battle between the Tutsi
and Hutu. Lasting approximately 100 days, the conflict forever changed the lives of
40% of the Rwandan population. About 800,000 Tutsi were killed and many refugees
fled the country ( Rwandan Genocide ). It was a grueling fight, based on land and
power, that all started with a lopsided hierarchy created by the Belgians that loomed
over the heads of the Rwandan people. Belgium s colonization of Rwanda, served as
a catalyst to the genocide between the Tutsi and Hutu by creating the unjust

system throughout the country that supplied the Rwandan people with identity cards.
The Belgians made it so ethnicity was the defining feature of their Rwanda
existence and stereotyping began to take over the identities of the people. This
scheme of separation hit the everyone that lived in this country; the Tutsi, the Hutu
and a group called the Twa which only took up 1% of the population. ( Genocide in

the distinct separation and difference between the people who once lived peacefully

Abstract The workplace is changing in demographics and diversity not only
racially, but now generationally. The civilian labor force is projected to increase
by 18 million between 2012 and 2022, reaching 163 million by 2022. The
workforce will be older and more culturally diverse than at any time in the past 40
years (Noe, 2017, p. 22). The workforce is aging. The Baby Boomers (born in 1946
to 1964) are still in the workforce unable to retire. According to Noe (2017), in
2012, 65% was comprised of 55 years and older. The percentage of 55 years and
older will remain almost constant in 2022 with 63%. With multi generational
workforce, some employees will prefer either Traditional or Technology based
training methods. Does this mean trainers will need to acquire additional skills to
train employees who are Traditionalists or technology based? Multigenerational
Workforce For many years, the focused was on aging workforce issues; however,
there is a shift to managing a multigenerational workforce (Cekada, 2012). There are
five generations in the workforce, each unique and with similar characteristics as the
others as listed in the Employee Training Development textbook by Noe (2017):
Eukaryotic Of Eukaryotic And Eukaryotic Genomes
I. Introduction
Perhaps one of the first lessons one is taught about bacteria is that they constitute the
prokaryotic domain of life, while humans and most other readily visible life forms
are firmly rooted in the eukaryotic domain. These domains diverged many millions of
years ago from a common ancestor and, while the eukaryotic branch later split into
eukaryotic and archaeal domains, it maintained its separation from the prokaryotic
domain (Woese et al., 1990). Prokaryotic and eukaryotic genomes are naturally very
distinct in both content and structure as a result of eons long separation, and one
tends to classify these domains as very distinct entities.
However, there is increasing evidence of so called eukaryotic bacterial genes, or
genes present in bacterial genomes that have some sort of eukaryotic origin or
function. These eukaryotic bacterial genes are primarily of concern in determining
virulence factors of human pathogens. As defined below, bacterial genes can be
evolutionarily or functionally eukaryotic, or both. Presence of either type of gene
would indicate some interaction between bacteria and eukaryotes, the most oft studied
of which are pathogenic interactions. Discovering eukaryotic bacterial genes is
particularly important in pathogens that secrete effectors to be taken up by host
eukaryotic cells. These effectors tend to modulate host cell functions, so there would
be some logic in these effectors being encoded by eukaryotic genes. Most research

Analysis Of The Shroud Of Turin
The Shroud of Turin is a piece of linen that is alleged to have belonged to Jesus of
Nazareth (Jesus Christ). It lends an excellent motive for drafting this prewriting
assignment because there is a great deal of controversy surrounding its authenticity,
which has great relevance and significance to people on both sides of the argument.
This source of controversy surrounds a very simple question: Did the Shroud of Turin
truly belong to Jesusof Nazareth? The purpose of this paper is to summarize this
Wikipedia article and understand whether it follows Wikipedia s guidelines for article
construction, primarily focusing on Wikipedia s emphasis on a standard of objective
and valuable information. The Shroud of Turin is a linen located in the Cathedral of
Saint John the Baptist in Turin, Italy. The Catholic Church has no official stance on
the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin, but Pope John Paul IIdescribed the Shroud as
a mirror of the gospel. The shroud is described as rectangular (14 ft. 5 in. by 3 ft. 7
in.), and is woven by three main sections. There are reddish stains on the cloth that
form the appearance of a man laying with his arms crossed. These stains do generally
represent the wounds Jesus endured during the Crucifixion roughly 2,000 years
ago.The Shroud of Turin is a subject of great debate throughout many different
communities of scholars, including scientists, historians, and theologians. One of the

Causes Of Habitat Loss
This world is filled with several natural areas and landscapes and not only are they
extremely beautiful, they are also extremely useful to a variety of species. However,
we humans have pushed the boundaries and started to replace those naturally made
landscapes with what we desire most, want, and need. Habitatsand ecosystems of all
kinds: prairie landscapes, woodlands, and wetlands are disappearing by the minute.
The more we humans exercise our ability to want and need, the more these habitats
will be lost. For you to truly understand what habitatloss is, you need to know what a
habitat is. A habitat is where a certain species lives, whether that be an animal or
plant. Every species requires a necessary food and water source, along with shelter
and territory space within that environment or habitat. They also need a variety of
physical features such as trees, rocks, and lakes/ponds. Habitat loss is when that
certain species basic needs, such as food, water, shelter, and space are destroyed or
altered, which can be caused by a number of things (Michael Evans). One of the
primary causes for the loss of a species habitat are humans. Like I said before we
humans need and want things and will exercise that action at any cost. More good
and space is required as the world s population grows. The only way to get those
things is by taking it. Agriculture land is in high demand with the amount of people
that need to be fed and housed. We are able to achieve these lands by

which can be considered by his student, Naomi. She knows that he practices what

In the beginning of the novel, he helped Naomi shape the ending when she got

just know when it happens (p. 1, Towes). The assignment essay which Mr Quiring
gave to Naomi is like a metaphor of her problem she is struggling with to find its
ending. According to Heath, the whole novel is an assignment that she had
difficulty in what to write, especially in its ending (p. 223). When she was still
stuck in the way to finish her schoolwork, to say goodbye to her town, and
especially to live in her way, Mr. Quiring tried to guide her to find the answer by
asking her to imagine what will happen when she closes her eyes. In other words, he
wanted to let her draw her dream future her ending she desires. Finishing the
assignment with its endings simultaneously opened her endings for her family. That is
a reason why she said Mr Quiring provided her family with ending. Therefore,
shaping Naomi s ending is one of the most indispensable role of Mr. Quiring in the

October 1822, Prince Dom Pedro formally acclaimed the Constitutional Emperor and
Perpetual Defender of Brazil. There is not always a smooth transition from
monarchy to democracy and Brazil proved that true. After gaining independence in
1822, Brazil opted for a constitutional monarchy as opposed to other forms of
government its neighbors used at that time. They adopted a two party system based
on the British model; liberal and conservative parties that consist of frequent cabinet
turnovers. This allowed the emperor to appoint governors under moderated power
under the constitution established in 1824. Up until the 1880 s, Brazils political

Management Plan For Risk Management
Risk Management
Risk management is the identification, assessment, and prioritization of risks
followed by coordinated and economical application of resources to minimize,
monitor, and control the probability and impact of unfortunate events or to maximize
the realization of opportunities. Risk management s objective is to assure uncertainty
does not deflect the endeavor from the business goals. Risks can come from various
sources: e.g., uncertainty in financial markets, threats from project failures (at any
phase in design, development, production, or sustainment life cycles), legal liabilities,
credit risk, accidents, natural causes and disasters as well as deliberate attack from an
adversary, or events of uncertain or unpredictable root cause. The risk management
plan should propose applicable and effective security controls for managing the risks.
A good risk management plan should contain a schedule for control implementation
and responsible persons for those actions.
It is important to assess and measure different types of risks that the company can
face prior to stepping foot in a different country. The three broad types of risk are:
1) Political Risk, 2) Economic Risk and 3) Cultural Risk. Political, social, economic,
cultural, and legal and government issues need to be taken care of before launching
any brand in any country.
1)Political Risk:
Political risk is a type of risk faced by investors, corporations, and governments. It is
a risk that can be understood
William Hogarth A Raki s Progress Essay
In history it seems that some value of materialistic items can control a person s life;
in the present, the same controlling is happening. William Hogarth backed up this
theory by painting A Rakes Progress, which illustrates the life of Tom Rakewell in the
18th century. Through Hogarth s paintings, he releases his thoughts and uses his
work to speak to society. The theme of the gain and loss of money, drinking,
prostitutes, and gambling is represented for the 18th centuryby William Hogarth s
painting. William Hogarth is a name well known from the 18th century as one of the
best artists for his work A Rake s Progress. Despite his background that emerged from

Hogarth details each character in his painting to show the viewers how to take this
information from his work. In the painting, Rakewell s fiancee, Sarah, is shown
holding a tissue and wedding ring clutched in her hand. Her mother holds the love
letters Tom wrote and at the same time Tom holds out a handful of coins in a plead
to get rid of them. The second painting that makes up A Rake s Progress shows
Tom moves from his family home into a luxury house fenced in by a dance master,
a music teacher, a poet, a tailor, a landscape gardener, a bodyguard and a jockey all
offering their services to help Tom complete his fashionable lifestyle (Harland).
Tom is presented in his night ware and is with prostitutes. Tom s lifestyle does not
last for long after the third scene he is in trouble by the bailiffs. The fiancee pays
Tom s bail, but by the next scene, he is marrying a wealthy old woman. In the
painting, the woman s eyes glances towards the ring and Tom looks to his maid. In
the background, Sarah and her mother struggle by being restrained by other guests
before they can object to anything. In the 18th century, gambling was a reoccurring

I look forward to learning this aspect of the arts administration field in graduate
school as well as the management of other arts such as dance and theatre. During my
studies at Ithaca College, I have gained an enormous amount of valuable knowledge
and skills that can be easily transferred to my pursuance of a master s degree and
career in arts management. Planning lessons, teaching children of various ages and
skill levels, and leading rehearsals has taught me tremendous organizational and time
management skills. I understand the importance of conflict resolution and of keeping
people engaged and interested. Teaching involves being adaptable, constantly
assessing and reflecting on performance, and making the necessary changes to plans
and actions to ensure success. I know how to measure performance, analyze data, and
give proper feedback. By working with students from preschool to high school, as
well as supervisors, cooperating teachers and colleagues, I have learned the
importance of empathy and communication. Teaching requires the ability to look
through the eyes of students of different backgrounds and experiences, sometimes
those with special needs, and to communicate effectively with every individual. As
a serious musician, I understand the importance of sharing the arts with people of
all ages and backgrounds. Arts organizations play a major role imparting the beauty
of the arts and culture to audiences and to our society. This is the world I choose to
be a part of. I am a strong advocate for arts performance and education, and I am
confident my passion and enthusiasm will help the advancement of the arts in our
community and beyond. The MA/MBA program at College Conservatory of Music

Acute Human Immunodeficiency Virus ( Hiv ) Infection
Acute Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection is the small period of time
after a person has been exposed to HIV and before they have seroconverted.
Seroconversion is the process in which the body starts to create antibodies to fight
the HIV virus (Pietrangelo, 2013). During this period of time, which is usually a few
days, the virus replicates rapidly. The rapid replication results in extremely high
amounts of HIVin the blood because the body has not had time to respond to the
infection. As the viral load increases more CD4 white cells are destroyed. CD4 cells
are a responsible in protecting the body from infection. When these cells are
destroyed they no longer are able to adequately activate the body s immune system.

Signs/symptoms of Acute HIV Infection Including H P
Not all patients with HIV will have signs or symptoms during the acute infection
phase. If a patient is having symptoms they can often times think that they have the
flu. Acute HIV infection symptoms can show up 2 4 weeks after exposure and last
from a few days to several weeks (Cherney, 2014). If they are exhibiting symptoms
they may present as having a fever, swollen lymph nodes, skin rashes, myalgia,
diarrhea, oral ulcers or thrush, and fatigue. Lab results may also show leukopenia,
thrombocytopenia, or an elevation in transaminase (DHHS, 2015). Differential
diagnoses include the flu or Epstein Barr Virus since these also present with similar
symptoms.
A thorough health history must be taken with patients before an exam in order to
identify risk behavior. Important things to ask about are sexual history, partners and
possible exposures, any drug use (especially intravenously), and any current STI s
(HRSA, 2014). Upon physical exam things to look for or may see with an acute HIV
infection would be ecchymosis, purpura, petechiae, Kaposi sarcoma,
lymphadenopathy, oral candidiasis, or hepatosplenomegaly (Aberg et al., 2014).
Cultural Implications The numbers of new HIV infections per year has remained
relatively the same since the 1990 s (CDC, 2015). Out of

  • 1. Othello Essay On Iago Crafting an essay on the character Iago from Shakespeare's play "Othello" is a challenging endeavor that requires a deep understanding of the complexities within the character. Iago is a multifaceted antagonist, and delving into his motivations, manipulations, and the psychological intricacies behind his actions demands a comprehensive analysis. To begin with, comprehending Iago's character necessitates a thorough exploration of the play itself. One must dissect Iago's relationships with other characters, especially with Othello, and unravel the layers of deception that he weaves. Additionally, understanding the historical and cultural context of the play is crucial to appreciate the nuances of Iago's character in the context of the time it was written. Moreover, writing an essay on Iago requires a keen examination of his soliloquies and dialogues. Analyzing his language, rhetorical devices, and the subtle cues that Shakespeare embeds in the text is imperative to capture the essence of Iago's cunning nature. Unraveling the psychological depths of Iago's mind and exploring the theories behind his villainy adds another layer of complexity to the essay. Furthermore, one must grapple with the moral and ethical dimensions of Iago's actions. Delving into the philosophical aspects of the character's malevolence, the concept of evil, and the motivations that drive Iago's deceit can be intellectually demanding. In conclusion, writing an essay on Iago is a formidable task that demands a fusion of literary analysis, historical understanding, and philosophical exploration. • 2. Impact on the Environment of Electrical and Electronics... Impact on the Environment of Electrical and Electronics Products Introduction Electrical and Electronics products are now commonly found all around the world and the number is on the rise. The amount of such products that is being disposed is also on the rise. There is a concern on the environmental effect by such products that is being disposed as well as when it is being manufacturer. This is because most of these products contain either harmful substance or non bio degradable materials which cause an impact on the environment. For these reasons, regulations and directives are being set up to safe guard and prevent more harm from being done to the environment. This report would be discussing on the harmful effects by traditional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even in situations where the copper is recovered and the etchant is regenerated by the waste hauler, this waste stream may be an environmental hazard. Transportation of the spent etchant and its ultimate disposition may pose environmental risks and result in increased liability for the PCB facility. 1.3 Disposal of electronic equipments Electronic equipment is considered hazardous because of the presence of lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium, and some types of retardants. For example, some monitors can contain up to 27% lead. There are four main ways which electronic equipment can be disposed. They are incineration, resale, donation and recycling. Destruction of electronics equipment means incineration. Businesses are allowed to dispose of their hazardous waste in this manner, but the destruction then falls under more restrictive hazardous waste rules. The incineration process yields some environmentally dirty residue and it is thus not an entirely green option. Superficially, resale, looks like a good option. It generates profits for the company, the buyers are happy, and the electronics are disposed of. However, liability and administration concerns become an issue. Properly administering a sales program takes time and paperwork, and one has to consider whether used electronics sales are really what the company is in business to do. Donation is also a valid option. However, electronics are classified as hazardous
  • 3. Describe The Changes Of The Theatre In The 1920 s There were many physical changes that took place with the theatres and the productions. Depression hit New York pretty hard, 1.6 million out of 7 million people were in some sort of welfare programs, as well as one third of the city s factories were forced to be shutdown. Theatres were either closed down or were tuned into movie houses. Production output slowed down, before the depression there were 264 productions between 1927 28 and then during the depression, (1930 31) there was only 187 productions, because it was difficult to fundraise money. It was also very difficult to get a job in a theatrical field during the recession, there were about five thousand people that were jobless. 2. In the late 1920 s Flo Ziegfeld was in a courtroom fighting off a $1600 tab, as he was walking home the stock market began to crash. Flo ended up losing over 3 million in investments, which depressed him greatly. In the past Ziegfeld did a few motion picture projects, so he was able to sell the rights to some of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yip Harburg was born into poverty in 1896. While attending college, Harburg became great friends with Ira Gershwin. At first Harburg went into the electrical supply business with another classmate, but business went bankrupt. Harburg then ended up contacting Gershwin, who ended up leasing him money because was broke and also referred him to the composer Jay Gorney. Gorney and Harburg worked tirelessly together and they landed a new job with a revue called New Americana which was centered on the forgotten man. The song that was emblematic of the depression era was Brother Can You Spare a Dime? . Brother Can You Spare a Dime? was sung and made popular by Bing Crosby, but it was written by Yip Harburg. Harburg got the inspiration for this song because along the streets of New York there were lines of people who had fallen through tough times awaiting for bread and soup. Often around the street of New York the most common slogan was can you spare a
  • 4. The Cruelty Of Animal Cruelty Hypocrisy comes to mind as I grudgingly watch a woman eat a cheeseburger while wearing a t shirt with the phrase My Favorite Breed is RESCUED blasted on the front. With every bite I delve deeper into the question of what exactly is animal cruelty and why does society differentiate between which animals are worthy and not worthy of liberation. Humans have not only been hidden skillfully from the atrocious truth that is factory farming, but many choose to remain ignorant as it is easier to ignore the cries of cattle than to give up a delicious cheeseburger. Selfishly, we have become content in our societally programmed sheltered view of the world. Fortunately, for us, we can escape the shelter willingly, for the animals in factory farming,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Needless to say, the undercover investigation exposed Pilgrim s cruelty to animals, yet the Harnett County District Attorney of North Carolina, Vernon Stewart, ultimately decided not to burden this case with criminal charges (Staff, COK ). Perhaps, if animal cruelty laws were taken seriously and implemented truly for all animals, more would ve been done to make this unlawful behavior obsolete. Furthermore, a form of animal neglect is hoarding. Hoarding is described by the Hoarding of Animals Research Consortium as the accumulation of a large amount of animals, resulting in a lack of nutrition, sanitation, veterinary care, and failure to recognize these deteriorating conditions of being harmful to both the animal and caretaker ( Hoarding ). There are several laws prohibiting hoarding in every state and the individuals who participate can be prosecuted either by fines, jail time or banned from animal ownership. For example, section 31 19 1 of New Mexico s Statutes declares that any defendant convicted of animal neglect can be imprisoned up to one year and fined up to 1,000 dollars ( 2006 ). This law only applies to domesticated animals and not livestock, thus leaving pigs the devastation of standing on gestation crate floors covered in ammonia ridden feces. Full grown pigs are crammed into the 27 by 80 inch crates, in facilities that often have more than 20 sows [mother pigs] per row and 100 more
  • 5. Aristotle Involuntary Action In general, humans have the ability to think through their decision and choose which course of action to take. On the conceptual level, it seems easy to determine voluntary from involuntary acts. However, in real world decisions, some of the distinctions between the two are not as clear and the type of action is blurred. In this paper, I will defend Aristotle view s on the grey, or mixed, areas of voluntary and involuntary actions. Aristotle opens Book III Chapter I of Nicomachean Ethicswith These [feelings and actions] receive praise or blame if they are voluntary, but pardon, sometime even pity, if they are involuntary. (Nicomachean Ethics 1109b30). Based on these reactions of society, it seems we should be able to easily distinguish... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But maybe not in the exact moment it is happening, but some action that you previously made led you to the point were you are at now. So if it was voluntary choice then, would it make its consequences voluntary? In order for something to be completely involuntary, Aristotle believes the person must ...feel pain and regret for his action. (Nicomachean Ethics 1110b20), which could define the involuntary consequences of voluntary actions. He uses examples of animals and children as not acting voluntarily, and I believe the mentally ill could also fall under this category. However, not all will show pain and regret for their bad actions if they were not raised that way. It is in a lion s nature to kill, and is praised for doing so by its peers, however it is blamed if its prey is human. But the lion won t show pain or regret for either kill, because it is not in it s nature to. For a child or mentally ill person, they may not have been raised to feel bad about shameful acts, or may not be able to control themselves. While these examples are not viewed as correct on a moral or social level, it is just the participant s basic nature and they do not always show remorse, even if it is an involuntary action. So while I believe Aristotle is correct in describing these actions as involuntary, they do not fit well in his definition. I

Biographical Analysis of John Mcwhorter Han Bin Kim Comp II, Class B Assignment 2, Draft 1 February 23, 2013 John McWhorter Interview Over the years I have interviewed a good number of people, but there has never been anyone quite like John McWhorter. Upon reading the article The Cosmopolitan Tongue: The Universality of English as published in the 2009 Fall edition of World Affairs, I found myself delighted by the mellow but powerful tone and the writer who could use it with such ease. Here was a man with brains, consideration, and humor. Lost in my reveries about what McWhorter would be like, I didn t quite realize that I had somehow dialed his office number until a deep voice filtered through the receiver. Yes? McWhorter speaking. These little considerate actions which I had noticed during the phone call and the three minutes I had met him, inspired me to ask if he had always been so considerate. He looked surprised. I have never thought myself considerate, he said slowly, I am often told that I am too frank with my words. Before I make my opinion on something, I look at it from all perspectives to check that it is perfectly reasonable and logical. But once I make it, I say it without stopping to think if people who think otherwise will be hurt by my words. I protested. I had already known that he was a considerate person just by reading his article; namely, the welcoming way with which he drew his readers in: Most Americans pronounce disgusting as diss kusting with a k sound. (Try it you probably do too.) (McWhorter, 248) The tall man leaned back in the armchair and laughed. My dear friend, every writer is obligated to welcome his readers. Readers are the laziest species that ever drew breath, and if they don t feel welcomed, they won t read. As for being patient in littler things well, I don t know if this is very relevant or not, but I read five versions of the Talmud, each one progressively harder, when I was in middle school. I m pretty sure junior high was when my interest in Hebrew peaked. The Talmud was a pretty good source of linguistic and cultural knowledge, and some of the moral standards made pretty logical sense, so I adopted them as my own. It was relevant. Being

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Described as a Sticking Plaster Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has been described as a В‘sticking plaster for the problems that people may bring to counselling (Observer, 19/02/06). With reference to the literature, critically evaluate the arguments for and against this view. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a combination of two kinds of therapy; cognitive therapy and behavioural therapy (Bush, 2005). It has been shown to have a positive impact on a wide range of mood and anxiety disorders, such as depression, insomnia and panic attacks as well as more recently psychosis (schizophrenia). However, whether or not CBT actually solves the issue at hand or simply covers it up, as a sticking plaster (Martin Helmore, 2006) has recently been a topic of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gloaguen (1998) used meta analysis to compare the use of CBT and behavioural therapy in treating patients with depression. The study was controlled for using waiting list and placebo controls. CBT was found to be superior when compared to the controls, and also when compared to behavioural therapy, although most of the behavioural therapy trials analysed were uncontrolled. This aside, when compared to control groups CBT does have an advantage over no treatment, which is evidence of the concept that it is better than nothing for individuals suffering from depression as it can improve their quality of life. A recent trial (DeRubeis et al., 2005) found antidepressants (serotonin reuptake inhibitors) to be equally as effective in the treatment of individuals with moderate to severe as CBT. Although both treatments can be seen as equally effective, the use of CBT does not require people to ingest drugs, so if both are equally as effective the CBT would be the clear choice for individuals with depression. The evidence for the area of depression and the usefulness of CBT is mixed, in spite of this, it s merits are clearly obvious. Another area where CBT is used is in the treatment of individuals with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). The use of CBT in this are has been more successful with not only alleviating the symptoms of

Through the different classes at Logsdon, finding my home church in Abilene, and figured out the theology I believed in aside from my upbringing. The government is not a nonprofit, although they are quite similar; therefore, the government s financial report will be evaluated using different methods and from different perspectives. To get a broad overview of this government, first, the financial position and economic condition of the State of Californiawill be evaluated. Then, things with more depth, such as budget planning, funds, and infrastructure, will be discussed. As taxpayers, people are required to pay imposed taxes and derived taxes. Since payments are not voluntary as opposed to nonprofits, people want to know where the government currently stands, whether it has sufficient revenues for efficiently running current public services, and how much it has improved compared to last year. Examining government wide financial statements will give readers a basic understanding of the government s condition. The government wide financial statements consist two parts: the statement of net position and the statement of activities. Based on the statement of net position, in 2015, the State of California has a deficit of about $41.0 billion. Compared to the past 10 fiscal years, the fiscal year of 2015 has the least amount of total governmental activity net position and total primary government net position. We need to find a solution to this problem and that if people work together we could find a solution for many college campuses in Ohio. What if we set up more counseling centers in colleges or what if we give out mandatory mental health evaluation sheets? How can we come to this solution? Darwin s controversial Theory of Evolution caused a paradigm shift in the centrally fundamentalist society of his time. Inherit The Wind by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Comparatively, Drummond and Brady are analogous in that they are both respectable, well known, and fairly confident men willing to fight for their causes in valiant manners. Drummond and Brady similarly hold notable positions in their society, however, essentially serve as character foils to each other, varying greatly in differences between their own set of values, intentions, and mindsets. Drummond and Brady both yield adamant positions in the case. Drummond serves to defend Bertram Cates, the underdog, while Brady volunteers as prosecutor to stand up against the moral injustices done unto the innocent children of Hillsboro. Nevertheless, their mentalities in participating in the case prove to be different as Drummond displays

Meaning that if we, as a single person, are the only thing that actually exists, then that proves that reality is indeed not real. • 20. A Study On Genetic Programming Genetic Programming GP is an evolutionary computing method that uses the principle of Darwinian natural selection in order to create computer programs to solve a problem. Koza introduced GP (1992) as a branch of genetic algorithm. GP covers a high level of diversity by breeding random different computer program as the population. The programs are structured like trees containing functions and terminals. A function set and a terminal set should be defined as the sources of functions and terminals. If they are rich enough, tree structures are able to reach any complexity. The function set, for example, can be built of arithmetic operation (+, в€’, Г —, or Г·), Boolean logic functions (AND, OR, NOT, etc), mathematical functions (sin, cos, log), conditional functions (IF, THEN, ELSE), or any other functions. The terminal set can be included of variables, numerical constants, functions with no argument, etc. Random functions and terminals form a treelike structure program. Branches that contain functions and terminals are connected to the root point. A typical example of GP tree is shown in (FIG) Defining terminal and function sets actually determine the search space. GP starts a blind search for solution by creating random initial population within the search area. GP measure the fitness of each individual and the ones with better fitness are chosen for building the next generation by mutation, cross over or direct reproduction [1]. During the reproduction, some of the population

New Jersey, described as a place, where slaves live yet it is supposedly a place of copious opportunities. Although New Jersey is a source of the early abolitionist movement, slaverywas profound in the colonial society, which resulted in a high potential combative whether it should be abolished or not. , Slavery s complexity in America, can be best depicted through the northern state, New Jersey, as exemplified in James Gigantino s book The Ragged Road to Abolition. New Jersey s unique geographical position, dependence on agriculture, and a fear of black freedom after the American Revolution were factors that hindered an abolitionist movement in the state. As a central proxy for slavery in the north till Civil War, early travel accounts labeled the state as a place where slavery is a thing that endures, while those accounts also highlight New Jersey as a state that offers plenty opportunities. , Then, also known as Crossroads of the American Revolution , New Jersey s anti abolitionist tried to justify their strive for freedom as being for whites only.

Today s gangs of violent young offenders aggressive if you will terrorize and put pressure on neighborhoods in over three quarters of America s largest cities. These collectivities may include only one third of at risk youth, but the members that are held accountable are only about 80% of the serious delinquencies among minors. Their entire existence is on the belief that the youth will grow up and become part of their legacy as they call it. Now, to understand street gangs and the crimes they commit in its seriousness, one must understand what a street gang is. When observing specific equipment or even life, the question stands that there must be an account that took place before such items ceased to exist. Particularly, Aristotle argues that each thing, whatever it may be, will have causes, or types of explanatory factors by which that thing can be explained. The significant knowledge of causes allows for specific accounts to be known. It s like questioning what occurred first the chicken or the egg. Anything in life offers a question of cause; something must have been in order to bring about the nature of today. The first causes of things are the Material cause: that from which, as a constituent present in it, a thing comes to be. Material cause relates to the corporeal cause of a specific object (194b,24). The material cause consequently transpires for the reason that the parts constituents as materials. Next, the elucidation of the causes is a direct derivative from its own portions such as elements, components, materials, establishing entire thing. Aristotle refers to bronze and silver as models of material cause; which describes that the elements are the causes of a statue. So having bronze will ultimately lead one to a statue. In referring to change the bronze transforms into the statue. Physically the statue must undergo some process to change its current state into a statue. The material causes of things allow us to function. For example the beds that we sleep on every day and the homes or dorms people walk into are a material cause of some builder or manufactures. Aristotle wrote That we must acquire knowledge, of the original causes since we say we know a thing whenever we think we know its primary cause (983a, 24 16). Aristotle draws a discrepancy amongst potential and practicality. This is directly correlated to the process of change and motion. Change can be described as an object taking on a new form. The object has the potential to convert into something different, and change is actually the potential of one form of matter to become another form of

That is a very common scenario for many people living in the United States that have no idea where their food comes from. The U.S. has faced many different expansions on how food is processed and the types of food that are consumed. Over the years, more processed foods are being introduced to the market and therefore the consumer s diets are being affected. Because the demand of food is being increased over the years, factory farminghas become more popular because it is an easier way to meet the needs of consumers. FactoryFaming is defined as a system of rearing livestockusing intensive methods, by which poultry, pigs, or cattle are confined indoors under strictly controlled conditions. . It is a massive industry that gains millions of revenue a year, and therefore it is one of the largest types of businesses in the United States. Along with the massive amount of revenue that it creates because of this process, there are negative factors that overall affects the common good, for example not caring for the well being of animals and the consumers, as well as damaging the environment. Since the negative effects are greater than the only positive effect that these factory farms have, the question; is the monetary value greater than the well being of the living and the environment. Xylem is responsible for keeping the plant hydrated and can normally be fond towards the center of the plant. All Xylem cells are dead, elongated and hollow. The two types of Xylem cells are tracheids and vessel elements. Tracheids are found in most gymnosperms, ferns and lycophytes. Tracheids cells are long, thin, and are connected together by tapered ends. The tapered ends run alongside each other and have pits. These pits are holes in the cell wall that allow for water to travel from cell to cell. The other type of Xylem is vessel elements which form the xylem of almost all angiosperms. Vessel elements are shorter and wider than tracheids. Also the vessel elements are connected end to end and the ends contain what are known as perforation plates. Perforation plates have a number of holes in their cell walls which allows for water to travel freely between cells. Phloem is composed of living cells and transports important sugars, organic compounds, nutrients and macromolecules. The nutritious sap within the phloem travels by diffusion between cells. The motives of Dionysus are extremely perplexing to a modern audience. I will go; for that which fate forbids, can never befall me. For this thy mockery be sure Dionysus will exact a recompense of thee even the god whose existence thou deniest; for thou art injuring him by haling me to prison (Euripides 28). Abstract The workplace is changing in demographics and diversity not only racially, but now generationally. The civilian labor force is projected to increase by 18 million between 2012 and 2022, reaching 163 million by 2022. The workforce will be older and more culturally diverse than at any time in the past 40 years (Noe, 2017, p. 22). The workforce is aging. The Baby Boomers (born in 1946 to 1964) are still in the workforce unable to retire. According to Noe (2017), in 2012, 65% was comprised of 55 years and older. The percentage of 55 years and older will remain almost constant in 2022 with 63%. With multi generational workforce, some employees will prefer either Traditional or Technology based training methods. Does this mean trainers will need to acquire additional skills to train employees who are Traditionalists or technology based? Multigenerational Workforce For many years, the focused was on aging workforce issues; however, there is a shift to managing a multigenerational workforce (Cekada, 2012). There are five generations in the workforce, each unique and with similar characteristics as the others as listed in the Employee Training Development textbook by Noe (2017):

Introduction Perhaps one of the first lessons one is taught about bacteria is that they constitute the prokaryotic domain of life, while humans and most other readily visible life forms are firmly rooted in the eukaryotic domain. These domains diverged many millions of years ago from a common ancestor and, while the eukaryotic branch later split into eukaryotic and archaeal domains, it maintained its separation from the prokaryotic domain (Woese et al., 1990). Prokaryotic and eukaryotic genomes are naturally very distinct in both content and structure as a result of eons long separation, and one tends to classify these domains as very distinct entities. However, there is increasing evidence of so called eukaryotic bacterial genes, or genes present in bacterial genomes that have some sort of eukaryotic origin or function. These eukaryotic bacterial genes are primarily of concern in determining virulence factors of human pathogens. As defined below, bacterial genes can be evolutionarily or functionally eukaryotic, or both. Presence of either type of gene would indicate some interaction between bacteria and eukaryotes, the most oft studied of which are pathogenic interactions. Discovering eukaryotic bacterial genes is particularly important in pathogens that secrete effectors to be taken up by host eukaryotic cells. These effectors tend to modulate host cell functions, so there would be some logic in these effectors being encoded by eukaryotic genes. Most research has been

September 22, 1822 marks the official breaking of ties from Portugal and on 12 October 1822, Prince Dom Pedro formally acclaimed the Constitutional Emperor and Perpetual Defender of Brazil. There is not always a smooth transition from monarchy to democracy and Brazil proved that true. After gaining independence in 1822, Brazil opted for a constitutional monarchy as opposed to other forms of government its neighbors used at that time. They adopted a two party system based on the British model; liberal and conservative parties that consist of frequent cabinet turnovers. This allowed the emperor to appoint governors under moderated power under the constitution established in 1824. Up until the 1880 s, Brazils political stability was unwavering until the system faulted under military demands and the pressure to free the slaves. From 1889 1930, Brazil operated under the Old Republic and is loosely based on the United States constitution. This particular political system focused on economic power by large landowners in rural areas. Chosen through direct elections are the president, National Congress, state governors, and local

Management Plan For Risk Management Risk Management Risk management is the identification, assessment, and prioritization of risks followed by coordinated and economical application of resources to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and impact of unfortunate events or to maximize the realization of opportunities. Risk management s objective is to assure uncertainty does not deflect the endeavor from the business goals. Risks can come from various sources: e.g., uncertainty in financial markets, threats from project failures (at any phase in design, development, production, or sustainment life cycles), legal liabilities, credit risk, accidents, natural causes and disasters as well as deliberate attack from an adversary, or events of uncertain or unpredictable root cause. A good risk management plan should contain a schedule for control implementation and responsible persons for those actions. It is important to assess and measure different types of risks that the company can face prior to stepping foot in a different country. The three broad types of risk are: 1) Political Risk, 2) Economic Risk and 3) Cultural Risk. William Hogarth backed up this theory by painting A Rakes Progress, which illustrates the life of Tom Rakewell in the 18th century. Through Hogarth s paintings, he releases his thoughts and uses his work to speak to society. The theme of the gain and loss of money, drinking, prostitutes, and gambling is represented for the 18th centuryby William Hogarth s painting. During my studies at Ithaca College, I have gained an enormous amount of valuable knowledge and skills that can be easily transferred to my pursuance of a master s degree and career in arts management. Planning lessons, teaching children of various ages and skill levels, and leading rehearsals has taught me tremendous organizational and time management skills. I understand the importance of conflict resolution and of keeping people engaged and interested. Teaching involves being adaptable, constantly assessing and reflecting on performance, and making the necessary changes to plans and actions to ensure success. I know how to measure performance, analyze data, and give proper feedback. By working with students from preschool to high school, as well as supervisors, cooperating teachers and colleagues, I have learned the importance of empathy and communication. Teaching requires the ability to look through the eyes of students of different backgrounds and experiences, sometimes those with special needs, and to communicate effectively with every individual. As a serious musician, I understand the importance of sharing the arts with people of all ages and backgrounds. Arts organizations play a major role imparting the beauty of the arts and culture to audiences and to our society. This is the world I choose to be a part of. • 52. Acute Human Immunodeficiency Virus ( Hiv ) Infection Acute Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection is the small period of time after a person has been exposed to HIV and before they have seroconverted. Seroconversion is the process in which the body starts to create antibodies to fight the HIV virus (Pietrangelo, 2013). During this period of time, which is usually a few days, the virus replicates rapidly. The rapid replication results in extremely high amounts of HIVin the blood because the body has not had time to respond to the infection. As the viral load increases more CD4 white cells are destroyed. CD4 cells are a responsible in protecting the body from infection. When these cells are destroyed they no longer are able to adequately activate the body s immune system. (AIDS.GOV).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If a patient is having symptoms they can often times think that they have the flu. Acute HIV infection symptoms can show up 2 4 weeks after exposure and last from a few days to several weeks (Cherney, 2014). If they are exhibiting symptoms they may present as having a fever, swollen lymph nodes, skin rashes, myalgia, diarrhea, oral ulcers or thrush, and fatigue. A thorough health history must be taken with patients before an exam in order to identify risk behavior. Important things to ask about are sexual history, partners and possible exposures, any drug use (especially intravenously), and any current STI s (HRSA, 2014).
