The document contains evaluations of multiple original photographs for use in a magazine. Several photos of a female subject are considered for the front cover and contents page, with one praised for its interesting composition but noted facial expression could be a problem. Other photos of a guitarist are reviewed, with one favored for its clear background suitable for additional images and text. A final photo of a smiling male subject is selected for a double page spread based on direct eye contact, appropriate prop, and resemblance to professional band photos.

2. These photos were taken for my editors note that will be situated on the
contents page of my magazine. I think I will be using the second one due
to better lighting, however it does have more shadows than the first.
3. I took these photo’s in hope of using one my double page spread or possibly my
contents page. I prefer the first one because it is a much more interesting shot and the
subjects face is clear and better lit. Both will have to be edited in Photoshop if I do use
them within my magazine.
4. These are the two photographs that I am going to choose from for my main image on the front cover
of my magazine. The girl I have photographed ( Chelsea Nicholls) will be featured on my contents
page and double page spread also. They both are very dark photographs and will have to be edited in
Photoshop in the process of making my magazine. I like both pictures, the first because I feel it is an
interesting shot, however her facial expression may be a problem. In both images she has direct eye
contact with the camera, making them both good quality standard images to work with.
5. When taking these photographs I was thinking about my double page spread,
however, I feel that the first picture will be more suitable because of where and how
the subject is positioned. Both pictures are relatively dark which means that they
will have to be edited in order to make them brighter and more clear.
6. I took these photographs in hope of using one on the contents page. I think I
will be using the first photograph because it is a much more interesting shot
than the second. In the second photograph the subject is off centre and the top
half of the guitar is cut off, making this not a very good picture to use in my
magazine.
7. Looking at these photographs I feel like they would look good on my
double page spread because they both have clear, plain backgrounds
which leaves nice space for text and additional photographs if I end up
using them. I prefer the second one due to the fact that the first one is a
bad shot and the majority of the guitar is missing, and if I ended up
cropping it the picture would look odd due to only the top half of the guitar
being visible.
8. I will be using this
photograph on my double
page spread as an
additional picture. I like this
photograph because the
subject is smiling and has
direct eye contact with the
camera, he too is holding
an appropriate prop and
also looks like some of the
pictures I have seen of
professional bands in the
studio.
