The document describes photos taken by the author throughout the year to practice using a camera and improve their skills. Early photos showed the author's understanding of composition but were blurry. Later photos used lighting and depth of field techniques to highlight subjects. While an image with a black and white background conveyed the subject's dual nature, it may not be clear to the audience so another photo would likely be chosen for the magazine.

2. At the beginning of the year, I had to take practice
photo’s after being told the basics of how to use a
camera. This is one of the photo’s which I have taken.
This photo portrays my strengths and weaknesses. It shows that I can use the rule of
3rd’s correctly and that the colors in the photo are bright and eye catching however, the
downfalls for this picture is that the picture is blurry and isn’t straight. The camera is on
an angle which I feel if was straight then would have looked better.
3. This was another photo which I took as practice shots to get use to the camera.
This photo shows that the person in the photo is out of focus due to movement
which is hard to capture without the picture going out of focus. The rule of thirds
are used again and the background is more in focus on this picture.
4. After so many weeks of practicing and looking at
how the camera works, I tried to take professional
pictures which could be incorporated into my
magazine.
This picture shows how I have used the lightening to
light up the face and clothing of the model as the
picture is on a black back drop. A result of using 2
bright lights is that it causes shadows on certain
parts of the body and makes the model’s eyes start
to close.
This picture represents the improvement made from
the beginning of the year.
5. This picture is another picture which was captured. It
shows that by using on light, the picture is too dark so
one light wouldn’t be used for my magazine.
The highlights of this picture is that it creates mystery.
The face and the middle of the body is light up which
shows of facial features, clothing art and no shadows
apart from a little one at the top of the neck.
6. The photo’s which I have taken for my
magazine shows a variety of different styles
used. For example, this picture shows depth
of fields. The main focus is on the guitar
which makes the model go out of focus but
still clear.
I like this picture because it highlights the
physical aspects of the guitar. Even though
Liam is out of focus on this picture, you can
still see his facial expression and features
clear without having to strain.
7. This photo works really well as a photo
because with the background being
double, black and white it would fit with
my magazine idea of Liam being ‘Baby
Face Assassin’. The black and white
background could represent more his
rocker side to him where as the white
would represent his innocent side.
However, I don’t think I would use this
picture in my magazine as the audience
may not understand the intention behind
the photo.
