1. The document provides guidance on organizing an eTwinning TwinSpace to make projects run smoothly and showcase work effectively.
2. It recommends structuring the TwinSpace based on project phases, activities, or themes, and limiting pages and giving them clear titles. Both public and private spaces should be designated.
3. Setting up the structure early with partners, thinking through roles and permissions, and documenting activities will help the project be understandable and its outcomes visible to various audiences. Examples of successfully organized TwinSpaces are also included.

Using an Agile Inception to Kick Off a ProjectVictor Bonacci
Agile Inceptions are powerful and fast ways to get a team to internalize a vision. It’s a two-day investment that saves the company months of up-front planning and allows the teams to begin immediately deliver core product functionality.
The inception model is a kickoff strategy that is repeatable and well-vetted. At it’s core, the inception deals with how we scope. The session(s) relies on full participation by an engaged audience, and co-location is crucial as we swarm around note-cards on tables and walls.
What Counts as Learning: Open Digital Badges for New OpportunitiesSheryl Grant
What Counts as Learning: Open Digital Badges for New Opportunities is a free publication available here: http://dmlhub.net/publications/what-counts-learning
Open digital badges are simple tools that have the potential to change our current system of credentialing, creating ways to recognize more diverse learning pathways and opportunities for both learners and institutions for generations to come. How, then, do we go about building on this potential? How do we design relevant, innovative, and transformative badge systems that connect people’s multiple spheres of learning and link them to new opportunities?
This research is an early response to designing badge systems grounded in actual practice. It provides a building block for anyone interested in designing open digital badge systems, and also for educators, policymakers, technologists, humanists, scholars, and administrators who have a stake in how badge systems might impact learning, assessment, and opportunities for lifelong learners.

Project registration in eTwinning is a very easy procedure which can be completed in only four steps. The whole project registration is a step by step guided procedure, very easy even for new eTwinners.
eTwinning Live offers to all registered users a “Wall” which they can use it to post professional and personal successes, photos, documents etc. In addition, the can comment, like and be informed about their contacts’ posts and interact with them. The post creating procedure is very easy even for a first time entered teacher in eTwinning Live.
eTwinning Live has got its own internal mail system. Via this system each registered teacher can easily send messages to his contacts. The send procedure characterized by simplicity and, of course, security.
eTwinning Groups are private platforms for eTwinners to discuss and work together on a specific theme. The aim is to share practice examples, discuss teaching and learning methodologies and find support for professional development. Only registered in eTwinning teachers can join groups.
How to state and describe your availability and idea for eTwinning projectsHelleniceTwinning NSS
In order being able to participate in eTwinning project you must state it in your eTwinning profile. It's an easy and yet very serious setting. In addition, to find easier partners for your project, it's advisable to describe your idea into the relative field on your profile. Both of those settings are in the same page and it's very easy to be completed.
One of the main elements of eTwinning profile is the photo of the teacher. This can be a real photo, an avatar, a toon, a sketch or whatever anyone thinks that depicts more accurate his personality. A characteristic photo can help someone to find common elements with you and to propose you a partnership. The procedure to add/change your photo is very easy and can be completed in only 5 easy steps.
One of Twinspace offered tools are forums. Although forums can be used for collaboration, interaction and communication between all participants (teachers, students, visitors) not all of them have the same rights on them.
Read the following, step by step, tutorial on how to:
1) Create forums (if you have rights of teacher administrator)
2) Create treads (if you have rights of teacher member)
3) Replay on a thread
The Twinspace profile is different than the one in eTwinning Live and got its own wall where other teachers participants to projects can leave messages. Read how can leave your message to someone wall in the following step by step tutorial.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Organizing your TwinSpace - Alexandra Tosi, IT NSS and SAUSER-MONNIG Elizabeth, FR NSS
1. Organizing your TwinSpace
PDW eTwinning Ambassadors
Rhodes 29th September – 1st October 2016
Elizabeth Sauser-Monnig, FR NSS
Alexandra Tosi, IT NSS
2. Workshop Goals
For both of your roles
1.As eTwinners: to help you get the most out of your
TwinSpace during the project and after
(dissimenation, Quality Labels, …)
2.As ambassadors: to identify good practices to
dissimenate among other eTwinners
3. Organizing the Twinspace to make
the most of it!
Why take the time?
•For project participants and administrators: easier
to coordinate and contribute to the project if clear
organization
•For people outside the project: parents,
headmasters, press, evaluators (prizes and Quality
Labels)
A well organized Twinspace provides a better
reflection of the work done during the projet
4. The nitty-gritty of
organizing...
• When to plan the TwinSpace ?
• What and how many
pages/subpages, forums, folders?
• What structure?
Prevent Chaos! It may all look simple and clear to you
but…Think of an external viewer and final users, like
your pupils, other teachers who may join, your
headmaster, parents or an evaluator for QL!
5. Different criteria for organization
• One page for each type of activity (for example:
group work, video production,
collaborative writing, webquest etc.)
• One page for each project phase (for example: icebreaking,
self-presentation, Country/town/school presentation,
project evaluation…)
• One page per group of pupils (if you create mixed groups)
• One page per theme (for example: Autumn, Winter, Spring,
Summer)
• Or something else that fits your project !
6. A few examples…
•Upper secondary school:
• European Immigration: https://twinspace.etwinning.net/12904/home
• Migranti del 21esimo Secolo / Migrants du 21ème Siècle:
https://twinspace.etwinning.net/13204/home
•Lower secondary school:
• ALIMENT@CTION: https://twinspace.etwinning.net/13158
•Primary school:
• Arts & Maths https://twinspace.etwinning.net/14135
•Kindergarden:
• Fairy Yoga https://twinspace.etwinning.net/2114/home
•Teacher Training, peer learning:
• Euroteachers team up https://twinspace.etwinning.net/1284/home
7.
8.
9.
10.
11.
12. • Structure the TS while planning the project :
• Agree on the draft structure with your partners before
activities start (pages, forums, folders…)
• Set up the main TS structure before you invite your
pupils or other non-administrator teachers
• Limit the number of pages and give clear page titles
• Use subpages and links to other parts of the Twinspace
Of course things may change and flexibility is key, but time
spent at this stage is an important investment!
Plan the TS with the project
13. Think carefully about which pages to make public.
•Public? Project documentation, project outcomes, evidence for parents,
colleagues, local press…
•Private? Pupil’s images, videos, messages, private info
Consider in particular:
• Your pupils’ safety
• Your school policy (liability waiver, parents authorization)
• Your partner’s expectations and school policy
• The project’s communication plan & dissemination needs
•External evaluation
Public or private?
Unauthorized close-up pictures of underage
pupils and sensitive data should always be
private!
14.
15. • Remember!
The project journal in the TS home is always public and it’s
meant for external communication! How are you going to use
it? Who is going to updated it?
• For communication among teachers, you can use the
teachers’ bulletin – it’s only visible to teachers!
• If you spice up your project with eTwinning Live meetings,
remember to document with pictures, videos, report…
• Even if you use external platforms, leave a trace of what you
are doing in the TS, this is the only way the community can
know what you are doing!
A few reminders...
16. • Are you going to invite all your pupils in the TS?
• Are you going to make any of them administrators?
• Are you going to invite visitors (experts, parents, Headmaster…)?
• Will other partners have administrator rights?
Remember! You can choose who can edit each page!
You are responsible for the security of the TS, only people invited by
administrators can access. (NSS do not have access to your
TwinSpace).
Make sure you agree with your partner on who should be invited
and with what roles!
Actors and roles
17. In small groups of 2-3, each ambassador shows one of
her/his TwinSpaces and receives feedback - 30 min:
•How has the TS been organized? What was the main
criteria used for structuring pages?
•What pages are public and what private?
•Have all tools been properly used?
•Was it easy to understand in a short time the project’s
goals, activities and outcomes?
•Any suggestions for improvement?
Now it’s your turn!
19. Bonus! A few cool tools

Clear communication section : intro to the project, pupil opinions, final evaluation of the project
Clear and simple page structure
Collaborative project calender
Clear organization of pages
Good use of sub-pages : to organize the work between pupil groups (mixed nationality?)
Clear presentation of the project – numbered pages, introduction with national groups and explanation of the different stages of the project – a big help for all members of the project, including pupils (as well as headteachers, parents, evaluators, after the project).
Organization by tasks (in part), with contribution for each task in a subpage
Numbered pages, progression in the project = progression in the pages, evaluation by students and teachers, project dissemination page. Project journal used as communication tool with outside world (picture of prize ceremony)
