Aims
• Regonizing the concept of movement
• Mention the function appendicular sekeleton
and axial skeleton.
• Distangushing between appendicular and axial
skeleton
• Appreciation of the greatness of the allah
Structure and function of human
locomotory system
•
The movement: The ability of the organism
to change its position from place to another
The structure of human locomotory system
1-The skeletal system
2-The muscular system
Axial skeleton
-
:
Consists of
-
:
axial skeleton
1-skull 2-backbone 3-rib cage
Axial skeleton
1.The Skull protect the brain
2.Backbone It allow the body to bend in
different directions.
It protects the spinal cord
3.Rib Cage It protects the lungs& the heart.
it helps respiration processes.
Appendicular Skeleton
Appendicular skeleton consists of :-
1-Bones of upper limbs :-connected to
shoulder bones
2-Bones of lower limbs:-connected to
pelvic bones
Appendicular Skeleton
Function: allow eating, drinking, writing and
holding things
Function: allow walking, standing, sitting and
carrying the body
