My photo ethnography is based off my experience at a church in Olive Branch, Mississippi. The
name of it is Saint Luke Church of God in Christ. Saint Luke is pastored by Elder Earl Shannon,
is located in the beautiful city of Olive Branch, Mississippi. They offer a big selection of
ministries designed to meet the needs of families in the Olive Branch area. Saint Luke is also
nicknamed, The Ark of the Community . Saint Luke has a long history dating back to 1925. In
1925 Charles and Millississ Shannon established Saint Luke Church of Godin Christ. Saint Luke
started out with just about twelve members. Back then each church service was held in the homes
of the members. Saint Luke s first pastor was Elder Bonner. Elder Bonner was succeeded... Show
Perhaps it was because I m Catholic and not Pentecostal. Everyone in the sanctuary was moving
around and socializing. Members of the church walked to the front of the altar and praised by
the means of the Holy Spirit. It was a lot the different than my church but it was really a great
experience. The members of the church raise their hands, kneel to god, and speak in tongues.
Speaking in tongues simply means speaking to God in a way that they don t understand
themselves because the Holy Spirit fills their body. Another thing that was different about this
church was the choir. Their choir was amazing and every selection they sung made me feel good
inside. I got chills from some of the notes they hit. This church was very prompt and orderly. It
started with a prayer from one of the Deacons of the church. The deacon openly asked the
congregation for prayer requests and testimonies. One young lady gave a testimony about how
she wanted to thank God for letting her see another day and healing her from cancer. It was also
a special service honoring the Olive Branch Police Department. I ve never seen anything like that
during a church service, it was really amazing and touching. Another thing they did that was
uncommon to me was an altar call. Towards the end of the service Elder Shannon called for an
altar call. Altar call is when the members of the church go up to the altar for prayer.

Isolation In Art Analysis
Like all art, there are endless ways for this piece to be interpreted evoking countless emotions
depending on the experiences of the person. The goal of an artist, is to inspire thought and
conversation, which this piece does beautifully. The best thing about snow, is how it can
completely change the atmosphere of a scene. When I look at the piece, I can feel the cold and
hear the deafening silence that comes with a winter storm. I love that snow can lead to some many
sensations, from feeling cozy and safe by the fire, to a cold dreadful feeling of complete isolation.

The Recollection Of A Failure In My Family
Not every family is as picture perfect as they seem. In my family, we like to take family photos
to show our growth and to get to see each other all together. While these family photos are always
pleasant beforehand, they turn out to be a total disaster. Just a couple weeks ago my family had our
pictures taken. The photos turned out extremely well, but if only the camera could see the turbulent

Without reading the back cover, you would have no idea the path that this play would take, from

The Pilgrim s Progress written by John Bunyan was a very deep and touching story to me. After
reading it and trying to interpret what it was saying I decided that I could actually relate more to
this story than I realized through my faith as a follower of Jesus Christ. John Bunyan uses a
dream of the main character, Christian, to describe a life changing event for Christian to grow
spiritually while traveling and meeting new people and having first time experiences. The Pilgrims
Progress is an allegory to the Bibleand Christianitythat portrays what we as Christians believe in.
Bunyan uses the pilgrimage of Christian to express this allegory using the experiences and
people Christian comes into contact with to explore the struggles and challenges of life on
earth Christians faces daily when seeking eternal life. The first challenge Christian faces is his
guilt. As a Christian, I was always taught right from wrong according to the Bible and when I am
in the wrong for something, I feel guilty because I know it is wrong and that it is not necessarily
how God wants me to live my life or what he wants from me. The guilt arises because I am
promised eternal greatness after my life here on earth as long as I believe in JesusChrist and I
continue to strive to be a Christian, and well lets face it, who would not feel guilty being
