important regarding the laws governing voting rights and their relationship to
minority voters. Its implication and effects however does not end within the legal
realms and dimensions but continues through to society, culture, and human rights.
The Voting Rights Act initially established in 1965 under Lyndon B. Johnson s
administration protected racial minorities from biased voting practices. It was a huge
stride in the civil rights movement and a victory over harmful, archaic, and biased
voting practices and traditions.
In 1973 Congress amended the Voting Rights Act and extended protections to
members of languages minorities. The new language minorities classification meant
that the act s protection now extended to voters non English speaking minorities.
These classifications included those who spoke Spanish, Native American languages,
Native Alaskan languages, and Asian languages. Some of the changes to the new
amendment within the Voting Rights Act prohibited literacy tests as a requirement

In accordance with the board meeting s decision, the next exhibit planned for the
museum will be focused around the struggles faced by civilians on the southern home
front during the American Civil War. Although controversial due to recent events
surrounding Confederate symbolism in America, the focus of the exhibit will be
unique and powerful in its depiction of the conflicts surrounding daily life. When
speaking of war, the common man is pushed to the side in favor of the glory of battle
and the stories of the citizens are left unsaid. With the Union victory over the
Confederacy, the experiences of those living within the South were devalued in
comparison to their northern counterparts. Many museums and articles exist that
explore life in the North, but only a handful have been done for those of the

How do you define workrate?
The term workrate was introduced to me during the earlier stages of my wrestling
fandom when I stumbled upon online communities who would throw the word
around quite readily. Even with the term still in common usage, I have never seen
it given a widely agreed upon and concrete definition. In my view workrate is
somewhat distinct from good work , and refers to the athletic and mechanical
aspects of a match, in addition to the fluidity of its execution, bumping, and the
like. It says very little for the emotional components of a match or wrestler, for
facials, and more complex elements of selling. Whilst this does mean that many, if
not most good workrate matches are well worked, and many high workrate
wrestlers are great workers, the contrapositive does not hold those who do not have
the mechanical and athletic prowess of a high workrate performer may very well be
just as good as far as quality of match output is concerned.
