1. Nietzsche Essays
Writing an essay on Nietzsche can be a challenging endeavor, as it involves delving into the
complex and often ambiguous philosophical ideas presented by the renowned German thinker.
Nietzsche's works are known for their depth, intricate language, and nuanced perspectives, which
can make it difficult for the essay writer to navigate and articulate these ideas effectively.
The challenge lies not only in understanding Nietzsche's philosophy but also in conveying it
coherently and critically. His concepts, such as the will to power, eternal recurrence, and the
Гњbermensch, require a nuanced and informed discussion. Moreover, Nietzsche's writings often
demand a profound engagement with historical and cultural contexts, adding another layer of
complexity to the task.
Crafting an essay on Nietzsche requires the writer to carefully analyze and interpret his texts,
drawing connections between different works and highlighting the evolution of his ideas.
Additionally, addressing critiques and counterarguments from various scholars is crucial to
presenting a well-rounded and academically sound essay.
Moreover, Nietzsche's style, marked by aphorisms and provocative language, demands a certain
finesse in expression to capture the essence of his thought without oversimplification or
misinterpretation. Balancing the need for clarity with the preservation of Nietzsche's intellectual
depth can be a fine line to walk.
In conclusion, writing an essay on Nietzsche is a formidable task that requires a deep
understanding of his philosophy, a mastery of critical thinking, and a skillful approach to
articulating complex ideas. It is a task that demands time, dedication, and a commitment to
scholarly rigor.

2. The Best Four Years Of Life
Most people would describe their undergraduate years as the best four years of their
life. It s a time for optimism, growth, and success. Unfortunately for me, my
undergraduate experience featured a slew of opposing feelings. My father had been
diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer that effects the bone marrow, during my
freshman year. This was a rare form of cancer that ultimately took his life during my
sophomore year. His illness and his death set the tone for my undergraduate career.
Watching his health deteriorate took an emotional toll on me that only one whose
endured this could fathom. My grades during this time were not at all what I knew
they could be. I felt defeated, like nothing I accomplished really mattered now that my

I was also taught to always stay curious. A quality trait of inquisitiveness is one

3. Reflection Of A Homecoming Service
September 10, 2017, was the annual homecoming service at Morgantown First
Church of the Nazarene in Morgantown, Kentucky, followed by a fellowship meal.
The meal was a combination of store bought foods, simple traditional dishes like
macaroni and cheese, and special homemade dishes. Two old ping pong tables that
once served as the main food table have been replaced by white plastic tables, and
this year, the tables were even ornamented with a centerpiece to match the other
tables in the fellowship hall. The line starts on the right hand table, so people can
walk around the table to fill their plates and grab drinks before filing into the hall.
Meat is always placed first, followed by sides and casseroles before bread and
deviled eggs at the end of the procession. IGA fried chicken (wings, breasts,
drumsticks) supplied by the church and ham cooked by the pastor s husband sat
beside Elaine Johnson s homemade fried chicken tenders, which are always gone the
fastest. Homemade sides included dressing, green bean casserole, cream style corn,
pinto beans, broccoli cheese casserole, egg salad, and biscuits.
Other sides, that I refer to as simple, are recipes followed by the recipe that anyone
could fix. These taste relatively the same no matter who cooks them whereas the
homemade dishes can only be made and brought by certain people, and no one else
can prepare them exactly or as well as the original. The simple sides included honey
mustard based potato salad with bacon, green

Henry was a very rude, self centered person. He only focused on work and not the

many examples of Id throughout the movie. For example, he had no cigarettes so
he had a motivation to do out and buy a pack. Therefore leading him to get shot in
the head. Another example, when he lied in court about something very serious
when he knew he was lying. Also when he bought a puppy for his daughter he felt
an urge to get a puppy for her because he has heard her mention it many times before.

5. The Namesake Essay
The main theme surrounding the concluding chapters of Jhumpa Lahiri s The
Namesake is Gogol s final acceptance and appreciation for both his pet name and his
American Indian identity. Despite the years Gogol has spent in trying to subdue his
Indian culture as well as his various attempts to eradicate his odd pet name, Gogol
has learned by the end of the novelto cherish his origins and his own identity. His
appreciation for his pet name is emphasized at the conclusion of the novel, when
Gogol finally begins to read the collection of Nikolai Gogols short stories that his
father had given him for his 14th birthday. He expresses a genuine curiosity as to
why he was named Gogol, and therefore begins to read the novel to understand his

Although by the end of the novel Gogol grows and understanding an appreciation for
his Indian culture and no longer seeks to dissociate himself from his origins,
Moushumi continues to immerse herself in everything that is European and
American. For instance, Moushumi s selfishness is highlighted with her affair with
Dimitri, and she betrays her marriage because she is immediately attracted to Dimirti
s name and his European descent, which is foreign, while she associates Gogol with
the Indian culture she desires to subdue. Moushumi also admits that she had only
married Gogol because she felt that by abiding by her parent s wishes for her to marry
a Bengali man, she was doing something forbidden, although this feeling soon wore
off for her and she continues to be allured by everything European and American. By
the end of the novel, Moushumi tells Gogol she will return to Paris, ultimately
indicating her continued hesitance to accept her culture. This contrast between Gogol
and Moushumi helps to emphasize Gogol s change of character throughout the novel,
as both Gogol and Moushumi initially detested their Indian culture, eyt it was only
Gogol who finally learned to accept his American Indian identity, while Moushumi
continues to demonstrate an unwillingness to accept her own

The Use of Force is a short story written in 1938 by an American author, William
Carlos Williams, who is known for his modernist writings. The Use of Force was
first published in a short story collection Life Along the Passaic River (1938), and
is also available in The Doctor Stories (1984), which is a collection of Williams
writings. The story was published during the era of the Second Wave of feminism,
from 1918 to 1968, which focused on social reform and revolution (Delamont, 2003,

evident as the little girl in the story rebels for her freedom.

The Canadian economy today is at an all time high with higher economic growth
and rising GDP Canada is seeing great changes in the economy. The GDP increase
by 1.1 percent in just the first 3 months of 2017. Canada is quickly recovering from
the decline in oil prices that significantly slowed down the growth of the Canadian
GDP. Because oil plays such a major role in the Canadian economy this had a huge
tole on the overall GDP of this country. But, as the country approaches an increased
GDP the energy sector does not seem to be hindering the GDP any longer. With the
price of oil and gas going back up this has significantly increased the GDP of Canada
due to the large amount of petroleum that Canada produces.
The consumers are also playing the major role in bringing up the overall GDP
through wholesale retail and manufacturing according to an article from Canadian
Business (Castaldo, 2017). Along with more purchases being made by canadian
citizens Canada has also seen a significant increase within the housing market. More
people in Canada are now buying and looking for homes, this could partially be due
to the increase in immigrants within the country. Although the increase in GDP is
great for the country some economist feel as though this will not last long and
Canada will soon see a GDP decline. Due to some government implemented benefits
that have been given to citizens (Castaldo, 2017). With all these things giving rise to

high level equipment. In order to do that we must upgrade the operating systems that
we currently run and the hardware that we will use along with it. MSP currently uses

the cost to purchase and maintain them. Many will question the overall cost of this
type of upgrade and migration. However, the facts below will justify the cost. The
older machines running Windows XP will have to be upgraded to a newer operating
system. By April 2014, technical support and security updates for Windows XP will
cease to exist from Microsoft (Dysart, 2014). This means that the majority of MSP

harmful viruses which can damage and steal our proprietary information and data.
These types of security risks can be easily avoided by moving our computer s to
the newer operating system. A pilot and main migration will be used to facilitate
the upgrade for all of the computers within the company. Two weekends over a span
of 4 weeks will be needed to facilitate a migration of this size. Especially moving
users that are not accustomed to the Windows 8 platform and drastic visual
difference to Windows XP and Windows 7. A small number of users will be selected
to participate in the initial migration. This pilot migration will allow for testing and
evaluation of the new

Wherever anyone goes anyone is vulnerable to terrorism. Terrorism is something
that is a very horrific thing and effects everyone that went through it and the people
watching the news and newspapers. The effects of terrorism can be very dangerous,
sometimes it can even be deadly. In the last of couple of years around 50 terrorist
attacks have been in the united states. Around 200 in the world, just last week there
was an attackon the London bridge. ISIS even has claimed that they planned the
attack. For anybody that doesn t know who ISIS is they are a terrorismorganization

world. Terrorism effects the world around us and it isn t pretty we have all seen it
manifest its self in so many ways on the earth. Whenever Terrorism Occurs People
all over the world react differently, some effects can be, Countries increasing their
security, it can be anything from Airports to the borders and the boats that arrive
on land. Just like when 9/11 happened George W. Bush closed all subways so no
one could travel and that stopped a couple more of attacks from happening.
However, it turned out to be that all the attacks were fake except the twin towers
and the pentagon. Increasing Security has helped a lot of life s and it can have
positive effects on people. Anyone can feel safe at the end of the day knowing that
their country is increasing security so it would be harder to even plan something

10. Lubbock Christian University Strengths And Weaknesses
Lubbock Christian University Strategic Analysis
Lubbock Christian University has had a vision set out for in since its founding by
members of the Church of Christ in 1957. Those who took part in the founding of
LCU based it on a hope that it would grow to be highly recognized in academics
while it strived to put Christ above all. Today, LCU s mission reads, Lubbock
Christian University is a Christ centered academic community of learners,
transforming the hearts, minds, and hands of students for lives of purpose and

One strategy that could help in increasing enrollment would be price focused. If LCU
continued to aim to be the lowest cost Christian university, many students will make
it their first choice as they consider all of the many positive aspects of this wonderful
university. Price could also play a part in students transferring as it would be easier to
afford long term. A developmental strategy could be used to put an engineering
department into action. This one department could make a tremendous difference in
both enrollment and transfer rates, making it a strong and viable strategy because it
would make all three objectives more attainable. A differentiation strategy that LCU
could implement is to incorporate measures with students that are attending LCU on
athletic scholarships with a limited knowledge about Jesus. Creating special groups
and events for these students alongside students with an established faith will foster
the love of Christ through this community. This could help improve the number of
students giving up on the culture of LCU and transferring, but instead keep them here
to contribute to the success of the campus.
I conclude that the developmental strategy would make the most difference in the
university as it helps complete all three objectives. While the differentiation and price
focus are both very good strategies

Who...
Culture and ideologies shape relationships and define who one associates with. In
international relations the question of what has more influence is often discussed. It
could be cultural factors such as customs, language or societal norms or political
polices and philosophy. In 1996, Samuel P.Huntington published The Clash of
Civilizations in which the author gave a geo political theory that cultural differences
between civilizations rather than ideological differences would be the primary
source of global conflict in the post Cold Warworld. This essay will focus on the
argument in Huntington s book about how it presents the world, the problem and the
proposal for a solution.
In The Clash of Civilizations Huntington argued that the future conflict would be
different in the post Cold War era. Different ideologies would not be the main reason
for world problems but instead it would be because of the differences between
cultures. The division of power would be placed in the civilizations that have similar
cultural norms. Huntington states that the most dangerous enmities occur across
fault lines between major civilizations (20). He argued that foreign affairs cannot be
peaceful or accommodating. Global affairs are based on the influence of power
established on different civilizations societal norms. The major societies that
Huntington included were the Western, Sinic, Islamic and Orthodox civilizations.
The fault lines between these societies will be the tension

The Army examination of the drill sergeant selection sys tem found it did not
consider a candidate s maturity or complete a thorough background check. There
was no close investigation of instances where drill sergeants had beaten their wives,
which was a particular problem with some of the accused at the Aberd een Proving
Ground. The military s position is that the problems of sexual harassment int eh
military can be attributed to a lack of leadership, detailed in two army investigations
(Barry and Thomas 49; Schitt A1, A19).
Opponents of the military s lack fo leadership reasoning believe the problems lie in
how the military environment facilitates sexual harassment, in addition to making it
difficult for women to resist or report instances of sexual advanes. They fee l the
creed of drill sergeants, the power of the military structure, and the fat that military
women can not just walk away from their jobs contributes to drill sergeants having
powers over women that result in sexual harassment. These issues are explain ed by
civilian psychiatrist Major Elsbeth Ritchie in testimony at the court martial of a drill
sergeant from the Aberdeen Proving Grounds. Ritchie explains that fear of sexual
harassment in the military is elevated due to a drill sergeant creed of I am Mother, I
am Father, and God to recruits (qtd. Sciolino, pg. A14). Furthermore, the military
structure is so

largest direct action law suit in the United States history. Wealth was not the only
source of power used in this movie. There was corporate power, intimidation,
desperation, persuasion, compassion and finally the power to do what is morally
right. Desperation is the first source of power that comes onto the scene of Erin

14. How Did The French And Indian War Affect The Economy
Many of the great European powers had footholds in the New World, specifically
North America. The English, French, Spanish and Russian all had land there. This
caused conflict between these powers and the Native peoples that already lived
there. A prime example of his conflict is the French and Indian War. The French and
Indian War began in 1754 when both the British and the French claimed the Ohio
River Valley for their own empire. After the Paris Peace Treaty of 1763 ended the
war, the relationship between Britain and its North American colonies was
completely altered. The war brought political, economic, and social changes to the
relationship. After the war the British began to hold the American colonies on a
tighter leash politically.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The theory of Mercantilism stated that the colonies existed for the benefit of the
mother country. Therefore the colonies produce raw materials such as lumber, furs,
and crops and send them to the British who then use them to create manufactured
goods to sell back to the colonists. After the French and Indian War the British
began embracing mercantilism even more by heavily taxing the colonists in order
to pay for the cost of the war. An example of this is the Stamp Act. This act called
for a tax on all paper products such as stamps, newspapers, etc. The colonists did not
want to be directly taxed so they boycotted and petitioned the tax. An example of this
boycott is evident in a colonial newspaper that s heading had skull and crossbones
where the stamp should be placed (Doc 7). Other examples of the new taxes that were
imposed on the colonies are: The Sugar Act, Townshend Duties, and the Tea Act. The
British also began heavily enforcing the Navigation Laws which basically prevented
the colonies from trading with anyone but themselves. The British justified these
taxes and policies with the fact that the colonies were costing them money to
maintain, therefore they should be taxed to pay for these costs (Doc 6).
Economically, the relationship between Britain and its colonies changed in the sense
that the British started heavily enforcing mercantilistic

Montag s Catalysts In the world of Guy Montag, a Fireman, firemen burn books,
they start fires rather than put them out. His world is filled with superficial

dangerous free thinkers. Montag enjoys his place in his world. His job makes him

It was a special pleasure to see things eaten, to see things blackened and changed.

In Montag s world independent thoughts are dangerous and he is part of the control

there are three catalysts that radically change Montag. A young girl named Clarisse,
his boss Captain Beatty, and an old teacher Professor Faber. These three people

world.
On Montag s walk home from work one evening he meets a young 17 year old girl

18. Concert Chamber Music Analysis
The concert Chamber Music by Two, Three and Four was made up of three
different pieces. Each of the three pieces were composed by, in order, W. A.
Mozart, M. Ravel, and J. Brahms. Performing the pieces were Alicia Eppinga on the
cello, Barbara Corbato on the viola, Mark Clinton on the piano, and Mihai
Craioveanu on violin. These musicians performed sub sections within the pieces
known as movements, which brought their own sense of individuality to the piece
while still creating a sense of unity across the board.
The first piece consisted of piano, violin, and cello. In each of the movements, there
were different musical contexts and styles that lead to the creation of a story the
different phases of life. As the entire piece progressed, the tonality shifted from being
very light hearted, energetic, and happy in the first movement, to a calmer more
relaxing mood in the second, to a more tense and high strung character in the last.
There were more noteworthy characteristics of the piece other than the shifts in tone.
For example, the piano seemed to remain the dominant instrument throughout the
whole piece while the violin and the cello accented it and added depth to the different
movements creating a homophonic texture. Throughout the second movement, the
violin and cello mimicked the melodies of the piano quite a bit as well. Tempos also
varied according to the movement, contributing to their tones. Allegro in the first and
last movements created the upbeat and intense

Despite the advances made in both areas there has been minimal consideration of the
ways that strategic groups, not only industries and firms, influence HRM
strategies and practices in the pursuit of competitive advantage (Boxall, 2003).
Strategic group research identifies how groups of firms engage in similar
strategies in order to compete effectively within industries and shape industry
structure and competition. Panagiotou (2006 p. 440) defines strategic groups as:
[. . .] those groups of п¬Ѓrms within an industry, which are characterised by
similarities in their structure and competitive beliefs as well as their tendency to
follow similar strategies along key strategic dimensions in a specific operating
environment.
The performance differences between strategic groups are the focus for much of this
research, but mobility between groups and the structural dimensions of industries
have also received attention (Ferguson et al., 2000; Leask and Parker, 2006; Porter,
1980; Reger and Huff, 1993). As such strategic group research has developed as a
central research theme in strategic management. One of the most notable aspects of
strategic groups research is that it highlights and reinforces the importance of
particular industry contexts. This is an important
21. Upper Class People In Elizabethan Times
Malik Hicks Mrs.Halfmann English 9 8 September, 2014 Have you ever thought of
the upper class people in London during the Shakespearean times? They spoke
differently for example. O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? ( They
attended the best schools, drunk fine wine, ate plenty of foods and held the most
elite jobs. They also dressed differently than the other members of society. The most
interesting information about the people during these times was the distinct
difference they lived versus the peasants, their lifestyle, and the devastating diseases
that the people of Shakespearean times had to deal with. The upper class people of
London got an education in good schools such as grammar school as did Shakespeare.

One disease that affected the people was the ghastly plague. The plague is a
terrifying disease that is spread by rats infection such as poop and killed people all
over London (Mabillard). A plague wiped out half of London s population and
affected London and the rest Europe (Mabillard). The plague caused widespread
closures of theaters and other buildings. In addition to a plague like the Black
Death another disease that affected the people of London was a disease called
syphilis. Syphilis is disease caused by sexual bacteria and when untreated it can
cause blindness, high fever and very painful body aches. Syphilis hit Elizabethan
barber surgeon whose name was William Clowns and killed him (Bell). Still
another disease that affected London is a small pox. Smallpox is a disease that
attacked Queen Elizabeth in 1592 (Madillard). It caused high fever, vomiting and
excessive bleeding. This caused the queen to cut her hair and become bald
22. Satan, Beelzebub, El Diablo And The Old And New
Testament
Lucifer, Beelzebub, El Diablo, all of these are names for the same Evil One most
commonly known as Satan. While most religions have a dark being or devil type
character, the most prominent and widely recognized to be true is the Judeo Christian
Satan who appears in both the Old and New Testament. The modern understanding of
Satanis a slightly misguided and deviant from the truth as most churches are hesitant
to preach about the prince of darkness and the secular world romanticizes the idea of
the devil. Through the lens of the New Testament of the bible, this essay will unpack;
most of what is generally known about Satan, what he does, some misconceptions,
and how he is seen by popular culture and the church.
To begin to understand what the devil does and what the world thinks of him it is
important to first find out who he is and if he is even real. While the bible does not
often speak of his origins it does give some insight in Isaiah 14:12 15, You said in
your heart, I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on
high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; I will
ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High. But
you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit. Satan was God s right
hand angel and then he tried to exalt himself to the same level as God and in turn got
cast out of heaven along with his followers, one third of the angels. This sentiment is
often
23. Media And Media
The mass media is an important factor when it comes to getting a message across to
the public. No specific community can do without media as it is a crucial element to
society. The media helps provide individuals things that they need the most, that
being information. Sometimes this information is considered injurious and appalling,
whereas other times it normal. The messages that are taken from the media are based
off of one s own faith and knowledge, in accordance to the reinforcement theory
(Jetter, 2017). The reinforcement theory argues that you can change someone s
perspective or behavior by using reinforcement, punishment and extinction.
Punishments are used to avoid the behavior you do, rewards are used to support the
behavior you want and lastly extinction represents stopping an individual from acting
upon a learned behavior.
Although terrorism cannot be defined in one specific definition, it can be depicted as
the use of violence against innocent individuals to bring political change through the
means of fear . Majority of the time, terrorist attacks are often not directly intended
for an exact individual, rather, are done to convey a memorandum (Altheide, 2007).
This can potentially signify that the media paying a large amount of attention to
terrorist organizations, may further encourage them to continue their violence. The
correlation between terrorist and the media is symbiotic as terrorist organizations
terrorize in order to seek publicity for the sole

The quote The object of power is power is heavily supported by George Orwell s
1949 novel 1984 and Fritz Lang s 1927 film Metropolis through their intertextual
connections and shared perspectives. Both texts were composed around the context
of pre and post World War 2 which is clearly evident through their settings,
characterisation, themes and ideas. Through Orwell s and Fritz s use of dystopic
societies, empowerment of women and detrimental dictatorship rule it is blatant that
George Orwells quote The object of power is power is quite strongly supported by
the intertextual connections and shared perspectives of Orwell s 1984 and Lang s

The working class in this film are forced to endure agonising labour in extremely
dangerous environments whilst the upper class, the sons are free to live at their
will. The dystopic setting of the depths becomes evident through Lang s use of
symbolism when the dictator s son, Freder, journeys to the depths and starts to see
the workers being eaten up by the machines in the scene Slaves of the Means of
Production (14.58 17.52). This symbolises the dystopic society in which workers
do not have the right to be safe. This idea forms a contextual connection to the
1920 s Weimar Republic where there were two distinct classes, the conservative
elite, who were free to live at their will, and the workers who were forced to endure
labour with no guarantee for safety. Through the contextual connections of political
reform and the shared perspectives of dystopian societies the quote the object of
power is power is strongly supported by George Orwell s 1984 and Fritz Lang s
Metropolis .
Similarly, the quote the object of power is power is also supported by Orwell s and
Lang s shared perspectives of the rebelling of women and the intertextual connections
of the empowerment of women during the times these texts were created. This is
made evident through the use of juxtaposition throughout the two texts. In Orwell s
1984 the dystopic totalitarianism
27. What Is The Theme Of Society In Fahrenheit 451
As society progresses, technology and customs often progress proportionally. Social
customs, and the way a group of people function as a whole are often altered by
significant events or a change in societal variables. Occasionally, this leads to
situations in which certain facets of society begin to drastically differ from their
original form. Take for example, the abolition of slavery in the United States in 1865.
Slavery had been a vastly unchallenged component of American society until that
point (excluding the period of abolition efforts). When this changed, the government
had to implement a number of laws that reversed prior legislation concerning slavery.
In many ways, Ray Bradburys fictional society in his dystopian novel, Fahrenheit 451
mirrors this by presenting a repressive community in which many factors contribute
to mass apathy and a passive state of perpetual passive occupation. Social contact is
central to human happiness, but as our technology increases in its proficiency, there
tends to be a disconnect in interpersonal contact. This feature of society is predicted
64 years ahead of time, and is highlighted frequently throughout the book, manifested
in Mildred s ear seashells and talking walls for entertainment. On a walk with
Montag, Clarisse mentions that she is often ostracized from her peers due to her
antisocial tendencies. However, the audience must pause to consider what she means
by antisocial here to fully grasp the gravity and relevance of her

model across the globe as much as possible in attempt to have superior customer to

using standardized measurements and terms while maintaining the ability to
recognize and implement the most efficient practice. The SCC continuously
improves the SCOR model by requesting members using the model to provide

29. Importance of Setting Goals Essay
The Importance of Setting Goals
Setting goals is the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goal s you
are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in
school, and trouble finding a career that will provide for you. Without these three
things, achieving your goals is going to be one of the toughest tasks in the years to
come.
When setting direction to success you must make good choices on the path you are
going to choose. The wrong path will put you somewhere that is going to take you
off track from your goals. This path can lead to partying too much, getting lazy, and
not going back to school. Not doing schoolwork is getting lazy. You must stayon top

The drive to stay in school is another big part of setting goals. Without the drive to
stay in school, you lose site of those nice things that can be achieved with hard work.
Drive also motivates you to do the things that you don t want to do, but have to do
them. Things like writing papers, studying for exams, and going to school during the
summer. The drive to achieve your goals will help you through these tough times.
Through the tough times, think about all of those goals you are trying to achieve,
and how nice it is going to be when you reach them.
Finding a career that will provide for you can be very difficult if you do not follow
the path to reach your goals. This is another reason to stay on track and work hard
in school. Without your education, going into the work force and finding a good
job that will provide for you and your family can be very hard. Most jobs require
school degrees and sometimes certifications that require many hours of work.
Without the degrees and the certifications, advancement in a job is sometimes
impossible. Without advancement in a career, it is very hard to reach your goals of
making that big salary, and having all of the enjoyable things in life.
My first year of college I didn t realize the importance of setting goals. After my first
year in college, having a good job, and seeing other people that did not make such

The marketing and advertising advertisements created by the franchisor leave
franchisee with more time to focus on the daily operating of business. This is a win

Continuous support
It recognizes that the success and profitability of many international chain brands are
inextricably linked to the success of the franchises (Minkler, A., 1990). A highly

The Central Banks of the world have a role in today s society to provide stability to
the economy. Through monetary policy, the Central Banks must utilize the daily
economic data in order to make policy decisions that attempt to ensure continuous
growth and prosperity. The Central Banks do this through regulating inflationas well
as implementing specific goals such as currency stability, low inflation and full
employment (Heakal). In 2008 the global financial crisis hit numerous nations around

The stories of heroes have been at the axis of nearly all cultures throughout history.
Each different type of religion or culture has their own heroes or legends, each one of
them having their differences to go along with the beliefs at hand. On the other hand,
each and every hero also has their similarities, which therefore makes them the hero.
The setting, events, and characters in each and every story may change, but the
characteristics of the hero remain basically the same. Each person is usually made
into a hero in a somewhat similar fashion. For example, many heroes begin as
imperfect characters, and then begin some sort of quest which leads to them
becoming a leader of what they are doing, and then the character goes through a...

Odysseus s voyage had to be completed before saving his people, while Moses
exodus and his people s salvation were simultaneous. In either case, the journey is
vital to the hero in order for him to undergo a personal transformation into the
legendary hero they became.
Moses fought a Pharaoh, the desert, his own people, and himself during his long
journey to the Promised Land. Odysseus also had a long journey home and while
on that journey battled Poseidon, the sea, his men, and himself. Not only are the
stories of The Odyssey and Exodus the similar, but the heroes, Odysseus and
Moses, share many of the same attributes and behaviors. Both, despite having
murderous pasts, were chosen by their God or gods to be the savior of their
people. Each had a specific limitation that directly interfered with the completion of
their mission. And since they were helped by God or the Greek gods along the
way, Moses and Odysseus ultimately had faith that they would be successful,
regardless of the obstacles ahead. Their similarities exist on a personal level as
well. Both heroes had to make great sacrifices for the good of the whole. They each
underwent a personal transformation as a result of the trials they faced. And each
learned a lesson that they passed on as a message for their people. The hero s journey
is also determined by how each story originated. The Hebrews passed down Moses
35. Clostridium Difficile Infection (CDI)
Clostridium difficile, a nosocomial pathogen, is of critical importance. By 2010 it
was the most prevalent healthcare related pathogen globally [1], accounting for 20
30% of antibiotic associated diarrheal cases in healthcare settings [2]. Symptoms
of C. difficile infection (CDI) are significant and include severe diarrhea and
dehydration. In more serious cases, CDI can result in pseudomembranous colitis,
bowel perforation, sepsis and even death [3, 4].Beyond serious impact upon
patients, CDI is costing multiple billions of dollars in hospital care in the United
States alone [5]. Clearly the need exists to identify and characterize the infection
and toxicity pathways of C. difficile. C. difficile is a spore forming and strict
anaerobe gram positive bacillus [4], capable of excreting pathogenic toxins, as
discussed below [3]. This spore forming ability is a method of bacterial persistence
within the human body. C. difficile is able to resist and survive a variable
environment when various other microbes cannot. Three important factors affecting
the risk of CDI include the use of antibiotics, length of hospital environment exposure
and age [1]. The use of broad range antibiotics affects the composition and lively

difficile lies within the 19.6 kb pathogenicity locus (PaLoc) and codes for two
major virulence factors and three accessory proteins [9]. Genes tcdA and tcdB

are part of the clostridial glucosylating toxin family [10]. Both catalyze the
inactivation of Rho GTPases, which are essential for the regulation of eukaryotic
cell cytoskeleton [9]. The inactivation of Rho GTPases causes cell death via
cytoskeletal disorganization [9]. The accessory gene functions are as follows; tcdE
as a putative holin protein; tcdD as a positive regulator and tcdC as a negative
regulator, both of which are controlling Toxin A and B gene expression

37. Functionalist View On Society
Our world is constantly evolving as we make new and improved advances in
society. As the world changes, we fall into different groups. Some are made to be a
temporary group while others are permanently, such as being a part of a cheer team
or becoming a grandmother. These groups vary in size, importance, and behavior.
This leads to being a part of a culture called society. Society is a group of people
who interact and share a common culture. Everyone has different views on society
but can generally be summed up to fit into three paradigms that dominate sociological
thinking: structural functionalism, conflict theory, and symbolic interactionism.
Functionalism Functionalism originates from English philosopher and biologist
Herbert Spencer. Functionalist view society as interrelated parts that work together
to meet the need of a function. Society is more than just individual parts but rather
each part is functional for the stability of the whole. Hebert Spencer (1820 1903),
who saw similarities between society and the human body; he argued that just as
the various organs of the body work together to keep the body functioning, the
various parts of society work together to keep society functioning (Spencer 1898).
Emile Durkheim elaborated on Spencer s view and saw society as an organism. For
example, our human body is made up of different organ systems that work together
so that we can breathe, walk, eat and live. Each organ plays a role but cannot function
as individuals to

Background
Uranium (U) is a chemical element; it is a silvery white metal. It is one of the
heaviest of all the naturally occurring elements. It was discovered in 1789 by Martin
Klaproth, it was named after the planet Uranus, which was discovered eight years
earlier. Uranium can be found naturally in small amounts in rocks, air, soil and water.

Uranium is hard, malleable and ductile. Uranium metal has a very high density. It is
very reactive so cannot be found in the environment in its elemental form. When
finely divided, it can react with cold water. In air it is coated by uranium oxide,
tarnishing rapidly. It is attacked by steam and acids. It has the ability to form solid
solutions and inter metallic compounds with many metals. While Uranium is not
hazardous by itself, some of its by products and decay products pose a huge threat
upon build up.
Uranium is weakly radioactive due to its unstable isotopes; again it has gained
importance in the generation of Nuclear energy. It is of great demand in the
production of bullets, missiles and bombs. It is also used to fuel power plants by
enriching it with the uranium 235 isotope. The isotope uranium 238 is used to
estimate the age of rocks and also used for radiometric dating. Other
