McKay in his sonnet The Lynching describes the gruesome reality of a lynching and how it is not

and children who carried out this act of cruelty and celebrated it without remorse. McKay uses
various sounds and rhythmic devices to reflect the intensity of the horrific images depicted. The
sound devices combined with the symbolism, allusion, and dark imagery illustrate the violent
crimes committed against the African Americans. This poem was published in 1922 after slavery
had ended however hatred and violence toward African Americans continued. This sonnet is about
a lynching and the attitude of the white population. The first quatrain explains what happens to the
victim after the lynching. McKay uses the words spirit, heaven, and father to describe the

Source E is a secondary interpretation on the idea of Total War in Britain from the book The
Making of Modern Britain written and published by Andrew Marr in 2009. Marr talks about
how civilians were impacted throughout both wars, but argues that WW2 was more of a total
war than WW1 was as the entire economy was mobilized . This source is secondary. Andrew
Marr was born in 1959, meaning that he was not alive during any of these World Wars. This
would mean that he would not have been there and so he cannot truly know what it was like.

and not solos. Copyright laws consider most early jazz songs as derivative works. What that means
is that copyright protection and rights are based not on what the jazz musician has added, but what
he has used. Under the Copyright Act, the owner of the composition copyright has the exclusive
right to prepare derivative works based upon the copyrighted work. Categorizing jazz interpolations
as derivative works have practical consequences that do not favor the jazz musician. As an initial
matter, there is the issue of how jazz musicians must go about obtaining the rights even to record
the song. The Act creates a compulsory licensing scheme for copyrighted compositions, which
allows players to use any musical composition without having to negotiate with the copyright owner

The Montclair Historical Society or the Montclair Historical Center as it will be called in 2017,
is a nonprofit organization promotes preservation, study and appreciation of local history. It was
originally founded in 1965 to save the Israel Crane House, a Federal Revival style landmark
home built by a local entrepreneur in 1796. It was relocated from Glen Ridge Avenue to its
current location on Orange Road. Located next to the Israel Crane house s new location is the

William Eugene Smith was an American photographer who produced photographic projects that
changed how photographs were portrayed. Rather than a photo being a photo, he told stories
through his photographs, through a practice called photojournalism. His photographic projects
depicted people in their everyday lives, but in different situations. The photographs he took did not
hide anything that he saw from the audience no matter how graphic the scenery may appear to be.
His photographymethods differed from traditional methods, in that traditional photographs

An example was five photographs he took of the Labor Day motorboat races, which described the
event in a narrative form (Hughes 12). In 1936, Smith graduated high school and attended Notre
Dame University, where a special photographic scholarship was awarded to him (Magnum Photos).
However, a year later, Smith left the university, and went to study at New York Institute of
Photography. In the same year, 1937, Gene was hired to work for Newsweek, where his first two
photo assignments were to photograph the Rockettes at Radio City Hall and the other project was
to photograph a medical operation. Many of the editors and other photographers at Newsweek
were impressed by Smith s photographs, and he secured a job at Newsweek. His newfound
employment fulfilled his goal of becoming a professional photojournalist. However, down the line
he was to change the way he took photographs, which he obliged to at first; Smith was to use a
larger camera, a tripod and the old fashioned open shutter technique whenever he needed flash
(Hughes 49). He later decided that the smaller camera he used was better to take photographs,
following his instincts Smith used his small camera rather than the larger one when taking his
photographs, disregarding the orders from the editors at Newsweek; this decision caused him to be
fired from his job.

Most research on capital structure has focused on public, nonfinancial corporations with access to
U.S. or international capital markets. This is the right place to start. These companies have the
