The Following Chapter Discusses Background Information
The following chapter discusses background information on quadcopters, structural batteries,
graphical user interfaces, and my research objectives. 1.1 Problem Statement The advances in
electronics and lightweight materials over the last few decades have resulted in the popularization of
quadcopters. Whether for recreational, military, or commercial use, people are beginning to recognize
the potential of quadcopters. One company in particular that is looking to exploit the use of drones on
a massive scale is Amazon through their Prime Air program. The goal of Amazon s Prime Air program
is to deliver packages weighing up to five pounds in 30 minutes or less to their customers [1]. While
the ultimate design or designs of the drones Amazon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike conventional airplanes, rotary winged aircrafts have a fundamental advantage in that lift and
control are relatively independent of forward speed. Rotary aircrafts do not need a runway and have
much more freedom and maneuverability in the air. Despite early efforts to fly using rotary winged
devices as well as the mentioned advantages, the first successful flight came from a fixed wing aircraft
[2]. The development of rotor technology paved the path for the creation of the quadcopter. Etienne
Oehmichen successfully built the first quadrotor in 1922 called the Oehmichen No. 2. A single 120
horsepower engine powered the four rotors of this machine. However, due to a lack of control of
individual rotors, the altitude and orientation could not be varied. To combat this issue, four additional
propellers were attached to better direct the movement of the quadrotor [3]. Modern quadcopters do
not rely on additional propellers to maneuver themselves. Instead, each rotor can be manipulated to
perform virtually any aerial move. Today, quadcopters are used in many areas of industry due to their
reliability, cost effectiveness and multi functionality. The most widely known uses come from
photography and the military. Quadcopters are constantly seen being used in sports media coverage,
recreational and professional filming,

Toys Are An Integral Part Of Our Childhood
As a child grows, they are exposed to a society that expects them to conform to the assigned gender
roles and stereotypes. This is mainly done in accordance to their choice of games and toys. Toys are an
integral part of our childhood. In some ways, it is the one thing that people from all over the world
share in common. As children, toys were a major source of our entertainment and social interaction.
However, the booming population of children and the growth of toy industry has resulted in the
commercialization of childhood.
Toys have been an effective method used for generations to conform children and teach them about
society s gender norms as early as possible. Children, in their early years, are like sponges that absorb
everything as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus in this paper I will be exploring how as a society we have been conditioning generations of
children to abide and follow the gender norms without even realizing it ourselves.
The role of toys in gender socialization during childhood
An infant is a mere passive learner. It is the children in their toddlers stage, who start to understand the
basic gender typing and soon engage in gender segregation. A young female toddler learns at an early
age that she needs to strive and become a good mother with nurturing character when she grows up.
She acknowledges that this is what the society expects of her.
Similarly, a boy on the other hand realizes that he should not play with girly toys and perfect his
masculinity. In addition, according to a research study done by Robin Banerjee and Vicki
Lintern (2000), it was found that the younger children aged 4 to 6 years old are more likely to conform
and be rigid in the gender segregating activities than the older children. This just further shows how
much the children have been conditioned to follow the gender norms of the society throughout their
childhood; the society conditions a child majorly through storytelling, media, and parents, but more so
by the choice of the toys they pick.
Most children s choice of toys are based on gender stereotypes of the communities that they are raised
in. Boys and girls are divided into categories. Boys are categorized as
masculine in nature and girls on the other hand

Disadvantage Of The Eu
The European Union is known as a economic and political union that has 28 member states around the
continent .The EU was established in the aftermath of World War 2. The idea behind the eu was that
countries that trade with each other become economically interdependent and are less likely to get into
conflict. What stared off as a purely economic union advanced into an organization covering policy
areas, from climate, environment and health to external relations and security, justice and migration
(Ayiekoh, 2016).
The Eu was known as the European economic community, under the its new name the eu is based on

The EU s (CAP) affords subsidies to EU farmers causing a competitive disadvantage for African
farmers in the European market since 70% of Africans are involved in agriculture, the role played by
agriculture within African economies could never be underestimated this is a particularly crucial part
of the African economy. Regions with the highest dependence on agricultural exports include the West
African Monetary Union which includes Benin, Burkina Faso , Guinea Bissau, Niger to name a few
and these countries account for an average of over two thirds of total exports to the EU. The Eastern
and South African region are also significant as it has the highest dependence on agricultural exports
that are also covered by the CAP notably through sugar, fruit, vegetable and beef exports With Britain

impact the African economies as well hamper growth, development and sustainability al together .

Earth Moving Equipment
Introduction
Earth moving equipment are the machines human make to replace the hard work from the human; the
machines made by humans to perform digging; grading; leveling; removing; etc to earth moving from
one side to the other side. There is Bulldozer, excavator, grader, loader, roller, forklift, tractor, bobcat,
and truck, etc.
Earth moving equipment is replacing the hard tough work; back break jobs to easy jobs for the
workers. Machines do a lot better than the human force. They can do a big job in the short time. So the
time can be save and finish the job earlier, leading to the economic affect. They run by the power
machines, so they do not need a lot of people in the same task. Most of the equipment can be used at
any time, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The special task of this machine is digging.
In the early age when the human tools are just the picks, shovels. With the basic tools, men must work
very hard to tackle the job. Now the machines are in place after time to time to refine, the excavator
322B appears to help. This unit is used to replace the manpower by machine, with the circle rate very
fast; it can do the job better on the field. It can dig or pick up a huge amount of dirt and ship it aside. It
can break the rock to the small pieces to level the surface in a limit time. The machine can handle a
job equal to 200 man power in daily work.
This machine was built to counteract the need of huge digging job around the field. It operates with
the other earth moving machines such as dump truck, loader, etc
We can see this machines every where: around the field, in the habour, in city, on the side of the road.
Perhaps it is busy digging sand, breaking down rock, digging the drain lines, and lifting a piece of
concrete. Really, it is a great machine.
The machine is run by tracks. The speed is up to 5.5 km/hr. The huge arm attaches to the body of the
unit. With the hydraulic system, the arm can stretch out, fold in, lift high in the sky, and dig deep into
the surface of the earth. With the special basket located on the tip of the arm, it can dig deep into the
ground, pick up soil then swing around to unload to the truck located

Symbols and Symbolism in A Clean Well-Lighted Place, By...
Symbolism in A Clean Well Lighted Place
Symbolism, may be defined as a non superficial representation of an idea or belief that goes beyond
what is seen. Earnest Hemingway s A Clean Well Lighted Place uses symbolism to help convey the
theme of Nihilism, the philosophy that there is nothing heavenly to believe in. It discusses that there is
no supernatural reason or explanation of how the world is today. Three symbols: the soldier, the café,
and the shadows of the leaves, found in Hemingway s short story clearly displays this Nihilistic
theme.
The first clear display of Nihilism by the use of symbols is the brief passage description of the soldier
passing the café with the prostitute. This imagery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The light is supposed to let the reader see that the guard is corrupt when he should be a loyal and an
example to the community.
Hemingway s second portrayal of symbolism that a reader may distinguish is the café itself. The café
represents a sanctuary of the evilness of the world. The namesake of the short story is a clue for the
reader to see that the café would represent some form of an asylum not only from the elements of
nature, but also safety from evil. An example of the usefulness of this sanctuary is how the deaf old
man uses the café as a safe haven to be to himself after the incident where he almost succeeded in
committing suicide and enjoys the comfort the café gives. The old waiter represents in the café the
kindness and caring that the café should provide; whereas the younger waiter is more of a materialistic
character. He clearly displays shallowness and selfishness. Arthur Waldhorn writes that the older
waiter helps keep the light on a little longer at the café for those, who like himself, do not want to go
to bed. (P 28) The younger waiter is a protagonist in attitude of the older waiter. The philosophy of
Nihilism is brought into this theme when the older man recites the Lord s Prayer but substitutes the
word nada for every noun in it. Nihilism is brought onto a larger scale because it is very evident that
there is nothing to believe in, even as a

The Coexistence of Good and Evil
The book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is often associated with a various number of themes
such as racism, social inequality, the importance of family values, and much more. But one of the
more hidden messages of the book centers around the idea that there is a coexistence of good and evil.
This theme is really brought to life the more the reader is able to understand the book. Through sub
themes such as coming of age, perspective, and intense characterization of many important characters
the idea of good and evil is really brought to light. Through one of the main themes of the book,
coming of age, the author is able to help the readers understand more fully the coexistence of good
and evil in everyone. During the start of the novel there are many stereotypical statements said that the
kids have always believed because they had no other knowledge of their own to rely on. But, as the
children grow, loose their childhood innocence, and gain an understanding of others on their own, they
are able to begin to see the good they have never seen, or the bad they have never seen. One example
of this is when, at the end of the novel, Scout is describing Boo Radley to Atticus. When they finally
saw him, why he hadn t done any of those things . . . Atticus, he was real nice. . . . His hands were
under my chin, pulling up the cover, tucking it around me. Most people are, Scout, when you finally
see them. He turned out the light and went into Jem s room. He

A Brave New World by Aldoux Huxley
Imagine that by taking one magic pill, you could be at the top of your world. With one pill, you could
find complete happiness and unmatched physical fulfillment. In his novel, Brave New World, Aldous
Huxley uses the drug Soma, to give the characters all of the benefits of fulfillment, both physically
and spiritually, yet ironically, as the drug plays out its role, the fulfillment leaves its consumer empty.
The drug, Soma, is used almost a comically large amount, as the characters take a gramme anytime
they feel like an uncomfortable situation is approaching. In Chapter 3, Henry Foster forcefully
pressures Bernard Marx into taking Soma, All the advantages of Christianity and alcohol; none of
their defects (Huxley 54). Preceding this, it was agreed by a few of the characters that Marx was
looking glum. It was being explained to him how this perfect drug was engineered and it was
described as euphoric, narcotic, and pleasantly hallucinant. Take a holiday from reality whenever you
like, and come back without so much as a headache or a mythology (Huxley 54). Soma gives you the
joy that you would experience through Christianity, or possibly by being drunk, though it only lasts
while you are high. Once they come down from the effects of drug, they don t have any of the
symptoms of a hangover, but they return back to the sad, controlled lifestyle that makes them want to
take Soma in the first place. If the characters are not on Soma, they are just as brainless, if not more

The Onion Skinss From The Onion Candles
These are the onion skins from the onion patch. If it was not for the onions that came from these skins,
Kit would have never gone through the Great Meadow to get to work in the onion patch with Judith.
Without Kit taking this path she would never have even met the witch of Blackbird Pond, Hannah
Tupper. Kit would have never gone back to the meadow to weep when she was sorrowful, and
Prudence would not have learned to read or write. At first, Kit despised working to grow the onions
from these onion skins, she was glad that she did.

that he was asked to read was Proverbs 24:21 22 My son, fear the Lord and the King, and meddle not
with them that are given to change, for their calamity shall rise suddenly, and who knoweth the ruin of
them both? This verse made Kit s uncle, Matthew Wood, upset because he did not not like loyalist or
someone devoted to the King of England. This is not only an important page of the Bible for the
Woods family, but for everybody at the time because it could have easily persuaded Christians all over
to be devoted to the king.

crazy how this little hornbook that was used for good was so close to causing something so

Comparing To His Coy Mistress And The Passionate Shepherd...
Although Marvell s To His Coy Mistress was written some time after The Passionate Shepherd to His
Love , both contain many similarities. Most evident is that both are carpe diem poems that exhort the
reader. One similarity between the two poems is the theme of exaggeration to convince the beloved.
The hyperbole in Marlowe s poem being And a thousand fragrant posies and But thirty thousand to the
rest in Marvell s. Both of these lines illogically exaggerate amounts to show how much the beloved
means to the reader in an attempt to convince them to act. Marvell s approach in exhorting is to
convince the beloved that time and eventually death is inevitable. The speaker s statement, But at my
back I always hear, Time s winged chariot hurrying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To me the chariot provides a visual for the rate of time. When we think of time it can be difficult to
gauge how quickly it passes, but you can easily imagine walking down a road and having a car, or
chariot, speeding by. The notion that the chariot is coming up from behind the speaker lends a
negative view in my opinion, because the visual that comes to mind is the speaker being chased down
by the chariot, or time. Another visualization that Marvell uses is iron gates of life . What really struck
me about this statement was that it is usually said as iron gates of death . In Marvell s use however, it
is as though life were trapping the person and they must break through the iron gates by living in the
moment to actually be able to have a life. The last two lines of the poem are a very strong image
showing how time and seizing the moment are related. The lines state, Thus, though we cannot make
our sun, Stand still, yet we will make him run. Time is represented as the sun, because if the sun never
sets then time would stop. Therefore this image of the sun running means that time can not be stopped,
but you can seize the day and be in control of its

Reflection Paper On Fitness
Welcome to Fitness In my life so far, there have been very few instances where I honestly thought
about giving up. I like to believe I am a very strong willed and sometimes stubborn person. I also
believe everyone has moments where they reach their limit and must decide whether or not to raise the
bar. My first day of track practice was one of those moments. I don t believe I fully understood what I
was getting myself into that day. I walked through the gym door nervous and filled with a mixture of
anxiety and excitement. The first thing I noticed was how many people there were. The entire gym
had people circling the perimeter. I mean it was insane. It felt like everyone I had ever known to be in
sports was there. People I had never even said a word to had managed find to their way to the gym. I
was out of my league and out of my mind. I couldn t do this. I m going to make a fool of myself.
Everyone here is conditioned for this and they ve done this before. They know what is going to
happen. I was standing there, looking around like an idiot. The first person I recognize and actually
talk to is Franky. I attempt to casually sneak my way over to him. I feel like a fish out of water. I
decide that if I ever get confused as to what to do I must have a plan. Ask Franky. That was the best I
could come up with. The warm ups and stretching weren t so bad. I was left out of breath from the
quicker ones, but I felt I would recover in time for the real workout. When coach shouted

Budgetary Control As An Assessment Tool

The notion of implead flexibility associated practice of budgetary control will be analysed. Control

There are also behavioural problems associated with budgetary control (Demski and Feltham, 1978,

using creative budgeting by creating slack in the system to give themselves leeway this is a way to
mitigate shocks to the business, especially in am an unpredictable environment. This may not be
ethical but mangers see it as a necessary evil, as their use of the budget tend to be used as a means of
assessment and evaluation. As they fight to control the budget, they also fight to maintain their jobs
and current position within the firm. Therefore this unsavoury behaviour is created by the use of
budgetary control, and where the business environment is unpredictable this behaviour, can become
even more damaging to the business as a whole and not just the department itself. It also creates a use
it or lose it mentality that encourage managers to spend their entire budget to avoid a reduction in
resources (Whitecotten et al, 2013, page 328). This unnecessary spending again is costly to the

Celebrities have a lot of power and as a result, they can have significant selling power as seen in the

strong, durable, and can withstand a lot of weight, like John Cena. In the commercial, John Cena wore

The Importance Of Same Sex Marriage
Globalism and Nationalism play a huge part in our society today and they are required for the
progression and development of the country. I think nationalism is important in the development of
our country, but globalism is also needed to become a developed country, because without globalism,
nationalism is not able to act, so both of them depend on each other. The same sex marriage issue is a
contradicting viewpoint for both nationalists and globalists worldwide. Same sex couples should be
treated like any other person and should not be denied anything an ordinary person would not. Same
sex marriage has impacted many people in our society today, whether it being people disagreeing or
agreeing with it. According to an article titled Countries Least Accepting Of Same Sex Marriage
written by Kimutai Gilbert it says The countries leading in legalizing same sex marriage are western
countries and countries of the Americas including the United Kingdom and the United States among
others . Some of the other countries still oppose same sex marriage due to them thinking that it is
unreligious, uncultured, and unacceptable. An example of this was in July 2012 when a gay couple
asked a baker to create a wedding cake for a celebration of their marriage. Mr. Phillips told them that
he could not design and bake a wedding cake for them because it would violate his Christian
convictions. This couple was denied service, because of their sexual orientation which was an

Post-Keynesian Economic Essay
Post Keynesian economic was formed and developed by economists such as Joan Robinson and
Nicholas Kaldor who believed Keynesian economics was based on disequilibrium and uncertainty,
and that challenges the general equilibrium assumptions of neo classical theory. The main aim of post
Keynesian economics is to complete the unfinished Keynesian revolution.
Post Keynesian economists fundamentally used ideas from Keynes and his concept of effective
demand, Marxist economist Michael Kalecki to provide a critique of neo classical economics beliefs
and an alternative theory of markets. These economists again emphasise uncertainty, real time and
actual market conditions. They also revived the classical link between macroeconomic theories of ...

Characteristic of post Keynesian Economic
There?@are a number of propositions which all post Keynesians accept. Sawyer (1989) concurs with
Davidson (1981) on the following three: 1. The economy is a historical process, 2. In a certain world,
expectations have a significant and unavoidable impact on economic events and, 3. Institutions,
economic and political, are of paramount importance in shaping economic events.4
The main characteristics of post Keynesian economic can be divided into four parts.
The first of all, the existence of uncertainty, this is one of the key elements of post Keynesian analysis.
Because of the existence of uncertainty that the future is unknown and unknowable so that economic
agents?f expectations can be easily frustrated. Market forces cannot account for the unknowability and
unpredictability of the future and so can only disseminate incomplete, even misleading, information.
As the future unfolds and become the present Joan Robinson suggests that, continues adjustment must
be made. This process proceeds indefinitely without equilibrium ever being achieved, let alone
maintained. Thus history matters. 4
Relatively to the first matter, the second characteristic is ?ethe existence of irreversible time?f, where
economic agents enter into commitments well before outcomes can be predicted. ?gHistorical time is
sharply distinguished from logical time, which is rejected in post Keynesian economics. Logical time
is closely related to

Man in the Crowd Essay
The epigraph at the beginning of The Man in the Crowd brings up the interesting question of what it
really means to be alone. While the actual definition of alone is quite by oneself, unaccompanied,
solitary, ( Alone ) the story, through the narrator s thoughts and the observations of the nameless man
in the crowd, can serve as a different perspective on being alone if applied beyond the situation in the
tale. The epigraph says how terrible it is to never be alone, and the story serves as a metaphor for Poe
to comment on how he views someone s ability to actually be apart from the crowd. The story goes to
show how social norms, thoughts of others, and inherent desires limit someone from ever being truly
alone. Poe seems to believe that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are oblivious of the connection, but because of the narrator and his thoughts, they are, in a sense,
there with someone else. The mysterious man that the narrator sees demonstrates that even when
alone, it is impossible to be alone in the true sense of the word. Even in the large crowd, the people
who are not walking or talking with anyone still combine with everyone else to make continuous tides
of population (Poe, 233). They, although not interacting with anyone else, are always a part of society.
The man that intrigues the narrator is a loner that, although unique, is still a part of the crowd. The
man fits into no set group of people that the narrator names because of his contradictory and confusing
appearance. His clothes were made of linen, although dirty, (with a) beautiful texture (Poe 236),
suggesting that he is wealthy but does not care enough to look presentable. The idiosyncrasy of (his)
expression (Poe, 234) is the greatest contributing factor to why the man cannot be grouped. The man
does not fit any of the social norms of society, yet he combines with all of the people to form the
crowd. Poe might be suggesting that even though the man in the crowd believes he is alone, he has the
narrator following him and thinking about him. Since he is occupying the narrator s mind for so long,
the man is making a bigger difference in the crowd than he thinks he is. Poe proves through

The Private Sector
1 Introduction
The main objective of the private sector is to earn profits and become a leading organization in their
line of business. To enhance this objective, most of the private sectors have embraced technological
advancements where business is operated online. E business is one of the current advancements where
a business can advertise, market and make sales through the Internet. The business has to share its
information online to attract a large pool of potential customers. Most of the business websites
operates on intranets and extranets. Customers can only gain access to business information through
the extranet. Authorized users can access most of the crucial and confidential information of a
business through the intranet via an encrypted link. Thus, the business can secure its confidential
information and protect its customers.
2 General Business Goals
With the rising cases of cyber threats, businesses are at risk of losing their confidential information to
unauthorized users. To deal with this menace, the lawmakers should address these issues through
promoting the understanding of the risks associated with cybercrime. They should also be involve in
acknowledging and addressing the cultural aspects of cybercrime as well as developing a collaborative
approach towards an effective response to the menace (Boneh Franklin, 2003). One such private sector
is Amazon. Amazon is a private company in America that deals with electronic goods. The company

2014). Lastly, I would ask Jenny if she was or is a smoker, because it has been shown that smoking is
a risk factor for carpal tunnel syndrome (Goodman, 2014). After interviewing Jenny I have now
gained more knowledge about Jenny s condition and have narrowed down the special test and
measures that I want to do later in the examination. The next step in the examination would be a
systems review. The purpose of the systems review is to gain more knowledge about the patients
health and that new knowledge can help guide the plan of care in Jenny s treatment (Fruth, 2014).
There are five components of the systems review that will be done. The first review will be of Jenny s
communication, affect, cognition, and learning style. This would have been done during the interview
portion of the examination. The second review will be cardiopulmonary, this is where Jenny s blood

Cockatoo Descriptive Writing
It was hot outside; not the kind of hot that you could deal with; it was the kind of blood boiling heat
that would drive you to insanity. The feeling of a burning sensation in my muscles radiated as though
they were rubbed down with sandpaper and ripped to pieces like the thin strips of Twizzlers twists.
The smell of antique clothes and the dust from the century old records filled the air. The soreness of
my body sent shocks of electricity throughout as I lifted the boxes. Sweat beads pooled at the ridge of
my mother s face and my father s hair was misshapen into some cockatoo style. The work was

they re probably just playing. Did he hit her with something? Do I even want to go in there? Is her eye

worked up the courage to open the door. I ran to the scene and I witnessed my mother violently

Edward Jenner was an English physician and scientist that made a monumental endowment for

The Habitable Zone outside Earth Essay
The Habitable Zone
There are approximately seven billion people living on the Earth right now. Who can picture 1 million
people, let alone 7 billion people? Yet the total incomprehension of it does not make the fact any less
true. Nobody has ever seen an alien or an organism that has not originated from Earth, yet it does not
make the prospect any less valid. Most citizens of Earth cannot imagine living anywhere else but on
this blue planet, but that should not make the possibility of it any less real. Space, like the future, is
always ahead of us, and no one can predict what it has in store for us or what ideas will be found.
Outside of the Earth, life in the universe is not such an inane thought as was once believed. Firstly,

The luminosity of the star plays a role on the length of the HZ as well. The more light a stars radiates,
the larger that star s HZ will be (Palmer). More light brings along more heat. As well as luminosity,
another variable is time. As times ticks by, a star s luminosity increases, and as it increases the margins
of the zone will expand. This indicates that, with time, planets within a HZ could change (Lissauer).
Then there is the Greenhouse Effect, a planet with a plentiful hydrogen atmosphere might be able to
extend its HZ. The Greenhouse gas would be able to absorb heat and extend the HZ up to fifteen
astronomical units (AU). One AU is defined as the distance between the earth and the sun (Baalke).
Though the range extended would depend on the type of host star. For instance, G type stars, like the
Sun would have larger HZ. In contrast, M type stars emit less light and would have a smaller HZ
(Redd Greenhouse Effect ).
Similarly, Earth also has variables that affects life. One would be the mentioned greenhouse effect.
This effect talks about greenhouse gases, with some examples being H2O vapor, CO2, methane,
ozone, and nitrous oxide ( Greenhouse Effect ). These gases, located as molecules in the Earth s
atmosphere, absorb mirrored heat from the sun during the day. If these gases were not there, then the
temperature after nightfall would

Common Eating Disorders:
The two most common eating disorders are bulimia nervosa and anorexia nervosa. Both disorders,
primarily affect young women, therefore the majority of the research on eating disorders has been
done with women subjects. The onset of bulimia is between adolescence and early adulthood while
the onset of anorexia is between early and late adolescence. Not only is the onset different but the
disorders are unique. Bulimia nervosa is characterized by loss of control over eating which leads to
food binges. These episodes are interspersed with episodes of purging, such as vomiting or laxative

Comparably high rates were found in binge eating/purging anorexics (Lilenfeld 1996).
The figures are defined as high because in the general population the rate of alcohol abuse or

area where drug or alcohol abuse does not appear to be related to eating is with anorexia nervosa. In
this area alcohol abuse appears to be less than the general population.
In another compilation of studies by Schuckit, Tipp, Anthenelli, and Buchotz differing statistics were
found as to whether there was increased alcohol abuse among women with bulimia. One group of
studies regarding bulimia stated that between one fourth and one half of individuals with bulimia
drank one or several times per week or had evidence of a problem with street drugs . Another stated
that between fourteen and over fifty percent of individuals met the criteria for alcohol dependence. Yet
another study found only a twelve percent rate of severe alcohol problems among a group of women

The Media Production Program At Ryerson University
Polaroid photographs can be thought of as tangible moments in time. They give off vibes of nostalgia
and whimsy. These feelings lead me to incorporate Polaroid s in my personal media artifact. And since
I am in the Media Production program at Ryerson University, I found it appropriate to apply what I
learned digitally in Photoshop to represent myself in an assemblage of hanging Polaroid s.
Corkboards are commonly used for reminders, organizing and possibly posting things we like on
them. These elements often come into play when I try to start a project. I often need to plan in advance
but even when I try to stay organized, I am scattered much like the board. The texts are what I used to
be inspired when I am creating something of my own. And like many aspects in life, the Polaroid s
and board have imperfections, but it is these imperfections build character. When hung together they
form a tapestry that tells a story of my life. I will now explain part of that story by analyzing three of
these texts from my collage by applying key concepts commonly studied in popular culture.
Habitus, described by sociologist Pierre Bourdieu is the manifestation of culture through developed

metaphor fits perfectly for something I love to watch and play: hockey.

Characteristics Affecting The Choice Of Road Carriers...
1. INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this assignment is to study the characteristics affecting the choice of road carriers
based on discrete choice. Different road carriers have different economic characteristics and are
consistent with its competition, shippers and carriers have different preferences when deciding on the
choice of road carrier. Currently, a surplus and scarcity of different transport infrastructures can be
seen in South Africa and various other developed and developing countries. Large communal
infrastructure which includes railways, airports, and seaports, cannot meet current freight demands.
Road transport in the form of highways offers surplus capacity for freight transport. Significantly very
little to no research has been done on road freight demand models compared to other modes of
transportation. The main cause for this is the absence of current and relevant freight demand data.
Freight demand data is an expensive and tedious process to obtain. In South Africa, freight is
progressively more transported by means of road; this results in a large variation of negative
philosophies, external effects including congestion, different types of pollution, and accidents. This
has led to public authorities attempting to reduce the road freight predominance.
2. TRANSPORTATION AND FREIGHT DEMAND CHARACTERISTICS

Examples Of Social Identity In 12 Angry Men
3. Social identity (10 points): What role(s) does social identity play in the movie? Discuss SID in
relationship of the jury to the accused. (Define your terms and give two examples of how they apply).
Social identity is a theory which explains how people develop a sense of belong and membership to a
group. Individual s social identity is part of their self concept which derives from their knowledge of
their membership of a social group together with the emotional significance attached to that
membership (Forsyth, 13). People are influenced on the group they belong to. Belonging to the in
group makes a person feel good because they belong somewhere in this group and allows them to feel
important. The out group is where people feel to be, they do not belong to a group and have feeling of
exclusion and are often times treated more harshly than someone who belongs to the ingroup. This
bias of favoring the ingroup relative to the outgroup leads to false impressions being made and
stereotypes forming. Stereotypes help us navigate the world around us by providing a quick
representation of what we think a person is like. This does not mean our perceptions are always
correct and occasionally, this quick mental shortcut can get us into trouble. For example, the film 12
Angry Men stereotyping was rampant among the jury. When a stereotype is used it can cause a
disruption of procedures. Instead, of inspecting all the evidence with an objective eye a bias can allow

Leonardo Da Vinci was a True Renaissance Man
Leonardo Da Vinci was a true Renaissance man. He was an inventor, a scientist, a mathematician and

Dreams In Gilphash And Enkidu s The Epic Of Gilgamesh
The great Babylonian tale The Epic of Gilgamesh is about Gilgamesh, the tyrannical king of Uruk,
who comes to understand his mortality through a series of trials and tribulations. Though he is well
aware of the fact that only the gods live for ever (Gilgamesh 71), he stops at nothing to defy his
destiny as a mortal being. While the Mesopotamian gods use a system of signs and symbolic patterns
to control the happenings in the living world, humans exist only to serve them and carry out their will.
The Epic of Gilgamesh proves this to be true. I will argue that in The Epic, Gilgamesh and Enkidu
both share a dependency on the divine agencies. As their dreams and journeys are driven by external
forces, we see the two heroes struggle to understand and accept the nature of the human condition.
In the ancient world, dreams were not seen as prophecies, but more as premonitions. In The Epic of

Their dreams are driven by external forces that allude to their destinies. Before the heroes embark

Motivation And Motivation For An Effective Manager
Motivation
Job performance is essentially a function of ability and motivation. One s ability can be developed
through training, education, and work experience. However, substantial developments in motivation
can be obtained fairly quickly. As an effective manager, may achieve a significant increase in your
team s performance by improving its motivation; this begins with understanding what motivates
people. According to Maslow Hierarchy of needs theory (Robbins et al., 2014), there are 5 levels of
motivation that a manager should recognize as it relates to what motivates individuals and how people
are motivated. This has been demonstrated throughout my career as different things motivate different
people. The motivation can come right ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both motivation systems are part of the Cognitive Evaluation Theory. A cognitive evaluation theory is
a precursor of self determination theory and centers on the distinction between intrinsic and extrinsic
motivation (Vallerand, 2000, p 2). The theory is regarding material or non material motivators and
managers knowing the people they are managing.
Decision Making Communication When it comes to communication and decision making traits, many
behaviors can be a subset of the above theories. As Maslow s hierarchal theory suggests many
decisions are psychological in nature (Amondt, 2014). The perceives at the time of conceiving things
actually make a judgmental stage for taking decisions. The ERG theory of realization actually helps in
making a sound decision and perfect communication (Robbins, et al., 2014). To be an effective leader,
one must be able to make good decisions and be a strong communicator. For better communication, it
is encouraged to follow best practices, such as having enough patience and demonstrating listening
skills. In my experience, getting people motivated is not always an easy task. Management must

The Impact Of Media On Society s Perception Of Reality
The media has been influencing society s perception of reality ever since the printing press was
invented in the early 1900 s. According to Delascio, when CNN first aired in 1980, it was the only
television station devoted to around the clock news broadcasting. But by the end of the 1990s, it faced
significant competition from MSNBC, Fox News, and others. As more twenty four hour news stations
appear, many resort to attention grabbing headlines that emphasize disasters and tragedies more than
cooperation and good deeds (Delascio 2015). Does the media negatively or positively impact
psychological perspectives? Who does the media influence the most men or women? Media tells you
how to look at your world, yourself, and how to think in regards to them. It tells you what to be afraid
of, what to hate, what to embrace, etc. If the idea of wanting to observe the effects of media on

Social Class And Status Groups
Social class is a concept that has been interpreted countless times throughout history. The existence of
social class and status groups has even been questioned and whether it is a positive or negative thing.
This ethnography explores groups of class and how distinctions between individuals on a macro level
can affect their micro level interactions in everyday life. The differences between individuals macro
distribution would not have any effect if they were not illustrated in everyday micro level encounters
and thus class and status groups would not be formed.
The ethnographic research conducted for this analysis is of social class groups of women in a local
café. For this study I visited this café three mornings in a row and observed the daily activities of the
local resident s comings and goings. The first morning everything seemed to run just as a typical café
would run, women gathering for brunch or morning tea, business people grabbing their coffee on their
way to important meetings and the usual. On the second visit I had noticed the two same groups of
women at the café sitting at the same spots they were the day before. I observed the two groups of
women simultaneously and even approached them and conversed with them.
Shortly after interacting with the women I had uncovered the distinction between these groups of
women. They were groups of mothers, one group from the local public school in the neighbourhood
and the other group from the local private school. The

Student Reflection
As I ve mentioned previously we departmentalize at Chattahoochee. I teach three math and a social
studies and writing/grammar class. I have 27 students in my first math rotation, 24 in the second, and
22 in the third. In math I mainly ability group students as a more effective way of differentiating
instruction to meet the needs of my students. These groups are very fluid though depending on the
AKS/skill. The groups often change weekly if not daily depending on the activity planned. My first
rotation is AC math, but I still have several student they need a little extra help on certain topics and
they are still vary in their abilities. However, in this class and the others at times the kids are also
grouped based on common misconceptions. In Social Studies, I use various types of grouping
depending on the activity. When we jigsaw I will normally use heterogeneous groups, but use
homogeneous for projects.
In my homeroom class I have two EIP (Early Intervention Program) student receiving extra reading
and math support, three ESOL (English as a Second Language), nine students who are identifies as
gifted, and the rest of the students on or above grade level in math and reading. On the other two
classes I have eleven EIP students and nine ESOL students combines. In this week s reading, several
articles discuss the different ways of grouping students based on ability within or between classes,
flexible grouping as well as the cluster model. Today s classroom contains

Examples Of Narration In The Awakening
The style of the narrative point of view is vital in the meaning the author wishes to convey in their
novel. The narrative of the text is imperatively central in the way in which the events of a novel are
expressed to audiences, the way these are framed is very important in relation to the effect it has on
the reader s impression of the events. The basis of the reader s understanding and opinion of the events
in a text is hugely dependent on the outlook and perspective from which they are described. With the
assistance of the narrative style in The Awakening, Edna s journey to realisation of the self and her
awakening is made apparent to the reader, as we are given insight into Edna s inner turmoil and
thought process as we see her reasoning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her feelings are frequently revealed but the narrator persists to remind readers they are in fact, Edna s
feelings, and not those of the narrator. It is possible that this form of narration is used in order to
cleverly reinforces the alienation of Edna Pontellier from her society, as while readers gain access to
her thoughts and emotions which are very personal, the narrator continues to remind readers they are a
separate entity from Edna, which creates distance from the protagonist. This strengthens the
ostracisation Edna is to be faced with once her true self is awakened , therefore this form of narration,
in the context of the novel, almost prepares the reader for the coming awakening of Edna Pontellier, as
she is separate and distant from the reader from the

Ureterocele Essay
Ureterocele, Pediatric
A ureterocele is an abnormal swelling at the end of a ureter, near the bladder. Ureters are tubes that
connect the kidneys to the bladder. Urine is filtered by the kidneys and then it flows through the
ureters to be stored in the bladder. A ureterocele is a condition that your child is born with (congenital
anomaly). Children with this condition usually have an extra ureter on one side of the body, which is
likely to form a ureterocele.
A ureterocele usually happens on only one side of the body. Sometimes it affects both sides, but this is
rare. A ureterocele can block urine flow or cause urine to flow backward (backflow), which can result
in:
Frequent urinary tract infections (UTIs).
Kidney damage.

The Following Chapter Discusses Background Information The following chapter discusses background information on quadcopters, structural batteries, graphical user interfaces, and my research objectives. 1.1 Problem Statement The advances in electronics and lightweight materials over the last few decades have resulted in the popularization of quadcopters. Whether for recreational, military, or commercial use, people are beginning to recognize the potential of quadcopters. One company in particular that is looking to exploit the use of drones on a massive scale is Amazon through their Prime Air program. The goal of Amazon s Prime Air program is to deliver packages weighing up to five pounds in 30 minutes or less to their customers [1]. While the ultimate design or designs of the drones Amazon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike conventional airplanes, rotary winged aircrafts have a fundamental advantage in that lift and control are relatively independent of forward speed. Rotary aircrafts do not need a runway and have much more freedom and maneuverability in the air. Despite early efforts to fly using rotary winged devices as well as the mentioned advantages, the first successful flight came from a fixed wing aircraft [2]. The development of rotor technology paved the path for the creation of the quadcopter. Etienne Oehmichen successfully built the first quadrotor in 1922 called the Oehmichen No. 2. A single 120 horsepower engine powered the four rotors of this machine. However, due to a lack of control of individual rotors, the altitude and orientation could not be varied. To combat this issue, four additional propellers were attached to better direct the movement of the quadrotor [3]. Modern quadcopters do not rely on additional propellers to maneuver themselves. Instead, each rotor can be manipulated to perform virtually any aerial move. Today, quadcopters are used in many areas of industry due to their reliability, cost effectiveness and multi functionality. The most widely known uses come from photography and the military. Quadcopters are constantly seen being used in sports media coverage, recreational and professional filming, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is mainly done in accordance to their choice of games and toys. Toys are an integral part of our childhood. In some ways, it is the one thing that people from all over the world share in common. As children, toys were a major source of our entertainment and social interaction. However, the booming population of children and the growth of toy industry has resulted in the commercialization of childhood. Thus in this paper I will be exploring how as a society we have been conditioning generations of children to abide and follow the gender norms without even realizing it ourselves. The role of toys in gender socialization during childhood An infant is a mere passive learner. It is the children in their toddlers stage, who start to understand the basic gender typing and soon engage in gender segregation. A young female toddler learns at an early age that she needs to strive and become a good mother with nurturing character when she grows up. She acknowledges that this is what the society expects of her. Similarly, a boy on the other hand realizes that he should not play with girly toys and perfect his masculinity. In addition, according to a research study done by Robin Banerjee and Vicki Lintern (2000), it was found that the younger children aged 4 to 6 years old are more likely to conform and be rigid in the gender segregating activities than the older children. This just further shows how much the children have been conditioned to follow the gender norms of the society throughout their childhood; the society conditions a child majorly through storytelling, media, and parents, but more so by the choice of the toys they pick. Most children s choice of toys are based on gender stereotypes of the communities that they are raised in. Boys and girls are divided into categories. Symbolism in A Clean Well Lighted Place Symbolism, may be defined as a non superficial representation of an idea or belief that goes beyond what is seen. Earnest Hemingway s A Clean Well Lighted Place uses symbolism to help convey the theme of Nihilism, the philosophy that there is nothing heavenly to believe in. It discusses that there is no supernatural reason or explanation of how the world is today. Three symbols: the soldier, the café, and the shadows of the leaves, found in Hemingway s short story clearly displays this Nihilistic theme. The first clear display of Nihilism by the use of symbols is the brief passage description of the soldier passing the café with the prostitute. This imagery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The light is supposed to let the reader see that the guard is corrupt when he should be a loyal and an example to the community. Hemingway s second portrayal of symbolism that a reader may distinguish is the café itself. The café represents a sanctuary of the evilness of the world. The namesake of the short story is a clue for the reader to see that the café would represent some form of an asylum not only from the elements of nature, but also safety from evil. An example of the usefulness of this sanctuary is how the deaf old man uses the café as a safe haven to be to himself after the incident where he almost succeeded in committing suicide and enjoys the comfort the café gives. The old waiter represents in the café the kindness and caring that the café should provide; whereas the younger waiter is more of a materialistic character. He clearly displays shallowness and selfishness. Arthur Waldhorn writes that the older waiter helps keep the light on a little longer at the café for those, who like himself, do not want to go to bed. (P 28) The younger waiter is a protagonist in attitude of the older waiter. The philosophy of Nihilism is brought into this theme when the older man recites the Lord s Prayer but substitutes the word nada for every noun in it. • 7. The Coexistence of Good and Evil The book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is often associated with a various number of themes such as racism, social inequality, the importance of family values, and much more. But one of the more hidden messages of the book centers around the idea that there is a coexistence of good and evil. This theme is really brought to life the more the reader is able to understand the book. Through sub themes such as coming of age, perspective, and intense characterization of many important characters the idea of good and evil is really brought to light. Through one of the main themes of the book, coming of age, the author is able to help the readers understand more fully the coexistence of good and evil in everyone. During the start of the novel there are many stereotypical statements said that the kids have always believed because they had no other knowledge of their own to rely on. But, as the children grow, loose their childhood innocence, and gain an understanding of others on their own, they are able to begin to see the good they have never seen, or the bad they have never seen. One example of this is when, at the end of the novel, Scout is describing Boo Radley to Atticus. When they finally saw him, why he hadn t done any of those things . . . With one pill, you could find complete happiness and unmatched physical fulfillment. In his novel, Brave New World, Aldous Huxley uses the drug Soma, to give the characters all of the benefits of fulfillment, both physically and spiritually, yet ironically, as the drug plays out its role, the fulfillment leaves its consumer empty. The drug, Soma, is used almost a comically large amount, as the characters take a gramme anytime they feel like an uncomfortable situation is approaching. In Chapter 3, Henry Foster forcefully pressures Bernard Marx into taking Soma, All the advantages of Christianity and alcohol; none of their defects (Huxley 54). Preceding this, it was agreed by a few of the characters that Marx was looking glum. It was being explained to him how this perfect drug was engineered and it was described as euphoric, narcotic, and pleasantly hallucinant. • 10. Comparing To His Coy Mistress And The Passionate Shepherd... Although Marvell s To His Coy Mistress was written some time after The Passionate Shepherd to His Love , both contain many similarities. Most evident is that both are carpe diem poems that exhort the reader. One similarity between the two poems is the theme of exaggeration to convince the beloved. The hyperbole in Marlowe s poem being And a thousand fragrant posies and But thirty thousand to the rest in Marvell s. Both of these lines illogically exaggerate amounts to show how much the beloved means to the reader in an attempt to convince them to act. Marvell s approach in exhorting is to convince the beloved that time and eventually death is inevitable. The speaker s statement, But at my back I always hear, Time s winged chariot hurrying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To me the chariot provides a visual for the rate of time. When we think of time it can be difficult to gauge how quickly it passes, but you can easily imagine walking down a road and having a car, or chariot, speeding by. The notion that the chariot is coming up from behind the speaker lends a negative view in my opinion, because the visual that comes to mind is the speaker being chased down by the chariot, or time. Another visualization that Marvell uses is iron gates of life . What really struck me about this statement was that it is usually said as iron gates of death . In Marvell s use however, it is as though life were trapping the person and they must break through the iron gates by living in the moment to actually be able to have a life. The last two lines of the poem are a very strong image showing how time and seizing the moment are related. The lines state, Thus, though we cannot make our sun, Stand still, yet we will make him run. Time is represented as the sun, because if the sun never sets then time would stop. Therefore this image of the sun running means that time can not be stopped, but you can seize the day and be in control of its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I like to believe I am a very strong willed and sometimes stubborn person. I also believe everyone has moments where they reach their limit and must decide whether or not to raise the bar. My first day of track practice was one of those moments. I don t believe I fully understood what I was getting myself into that day. I walked through the gym door nervous and filled with a mixture of anxiety and excitement. The first thing I noticed was how many people there were. The entire gym had people circling the perimeter. I mean it was insane. It felt like everyone I had ever known to be in sports was there. People I had never even said a word to had managed find to their way to the gym. They know what is going to happen. I was standing there, looking around like an idiot. The first person I recognize and actually talk to is Franky. I attempt to casually sneak my way over to him. I feel like a fish out of water. I decide that if I ever get confused as to what to do I must have a plan. Ask Franky. That was the best I could come up with. The same sex marriage issue is a contradicting viewpoint for both nationalists and globalists worldwide. The main aim of post Keynesian economics is to complete the unfinished Keynesian revolution. Post Keynesian economists fundamentally used ideas from Keynes and his concept of effective demand, Marxist economist Michael Kalecki to provide a critique of neo classical economics beliefs and an alternative theory of markets. Sawyer (1989) concurs with Davidson (1981) on the following three: 1. The economy is a historical process, 2. In a certain world, expectations have a significant and unavoidable impact on economic events and, 3. Institutions, economic and political, are of paramount importance in shaping economic events.4 The main characteristics of post Keynesian economic can be divided into four parts. The first of all, the existence of uncertainty, this is one of the key elements of post Keynesian analysis. Because of the existence of uncertainty that the future is unknown and unknowable so that economic agents?f expectations can be easily frustrated. Market forces cannot account for the unknowability and unpredictability of the future and so can only disseminate incomplete, even misleading, information. As the future unfolds and become the present Joan Robinson suggests that, continues adjustment must be made. This process proceeds indefinitely without equilibrium ever being achieved, let alone maintained. Thus history matters. 4 Relatively to the first matter, the second characteristic is ?ethe existence of irreversible time?f, where economic agents enter into commitments well before outcomes can be predicted. ?gHistorical time is sharply distinguished from logical time, which is rejected in post Keynesian economics. While the actual definition of alone is quite by oneself, unaccompanied, solitary, ( Alone ) the story, through the narrator s thoughts and the observations of the nameless man in the crowd, can serve as a different perspective on being alone if applied beyond the situation in the tale. The epigraph says how terrible it is to never be alone, and the story serves as a metaphor for Poe to comment on how he views someone s ability to actually be apart from the crowd. Even in the large crowd, the people who are not walking or talking with anyone still combine with everyone else to make continuous tides of population (Poe, 233). They, although not interacting with anyone else, are always a part of society. The man that intrigues the narrator is a loner that, although unique, is still a part of the crowd. The man fits into no set group of people that the narrator names because of his contradictory and confusing appearance. His clothes were made of linen, although dirty, (with a) beautiful texture (Poe 236), suggesting that he is wealthy but does not care enough to look presentable. This indicates that, with time, planets within a HZ could change (Lissauer). Then there is the Greenhouse Effect, a planet with a plentiful hydrogen atmosphere might be able to extend its HZ. • 31. Characteristics Affecting The Choice Of Road Carriers... 1. INTRODUCTION The purpose of this assignment is to study the characteristics affecting the choice of road carriers based on discrete choice. Different road carriers have different economic characteristics and are consistent with its competition, shippers and carriers have different preferences when deciding on the choice of road carrier. Currently, a surplus and scarcity of different transport infrastructures can be seen in South Africa and various other developed and developing countries. Large communal infrastructure which includes railways, airports, and seaports, cannot meet current freight demands. Road transport in the form of highways offers surplus capacity for freight transport. Significantly very little to no research has been done on road freight demand models compared to other modes of transportation. The main cause for this is the absence of current and relevant freight demand data. Freight demand data is an expensive and tedious process to obtain. In South Africa, freight is progressively more transported by means of road; this results in a large variation of negative philosophies, external effects including congestion, different types of pollution, and accidents. This has led to public authorities attempting to reduce the road freight predominance. 2. TRANSPORTATION AND FREIGHT DEMAND CHARACTERISTICS 2.1 Transportation can be grouped into two transportation forms: This includes private transportation and public transportation. 2.1.1 Public ... • 32. Examples Of Social Identity In 12 Angry Men 3. Social identity (10 points): What role(s) does social identity play in the movie? Discuss SID in relationship of the jury to the accused. (Define your terms and give two examples of how they apply). Social identity is a theory which explains how people develop a sense of belong and membership to a group. Individual s social identity is part of their self concept which derives from their knowledge of their membership of a social group together with the emotional significance attached to that membership (Forsyth, 13). People are influenced on the group they belong to. Belonging to the in group makes a person feel good because they belong somewhere in this group and allows them to feel important. The out group is where people feel to be, they do not belong to a group and have feeling of exclusion and are often times treated more harshly than someone who belongs to the ingroup. This bias of favoring the ingroup relative to the outgroup leads to false impressions being made and stereotypes forming. Stereotypes help us navigate the world around us by providing a quick representation of what we think a person is like. This does not mean our perceptions are always correct and occasionally, this quick mental shortcut can get us into trouble. For example, the film 12 Angry Men stereotyping was rampant among the jury. When a stereotype is used it can cause a disruption of procedures. Instead, of inspecting all the evidence with an objective eye a bias can allow for systematic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The top three vulnerabilities to the Port of Boston are listed below. Cyber related vulnerabilities present the greatest risk to the Port of Boston. Conley Terminal s reliance on networked systems to plan, manage and execute daily port operations makes it vulnerable to a number of cyber related threats including network hacking and viruses. • 37. Dreams In Gilphash And Enkidu s The Epic Of Gilgamesh The great Babylonian tale The Epic of Gilgamesh is about Gilgamesh, the tyrannical king of Uruk, who comes to understand his mortality through a series of trials and tribulations. Though he is well aware of the fact that only the gods live for ever (Gilgamesh 71), he stops at nothing to defy his destiny as a mortal being. While the Mesopotamian gods use a system of signs and symbolic patterns to control the happenings in the living world, humans exist only to serve them and carry out their will. The Epic of Gilgamesh proves this to be true. I will argue that in The Epic, Gilgamesh and Enkidu both share a dependency on the divine agencies. As their dreams and journeys are driven by external forces, we see the two heroes struggle to understand and accept the nature of the human condition. In the ancient world, dreams were not seen as prophecies, but more as premonitions. In The Epic of Gilgamesh, the Mesopotamian gods convey their will to Gilgamesh and Enkidu through their dreams. Their dreams are driven by external forces that allude to their destinies. Before the heroes embark upon their journey to the Cedar Forest, the god[s] had [already] decreed the destiny of Gilgamesh (70) to him in a dream. The dream is deciphered by Enkidu, who tells his friend that the father of the gods has given [him] kingship, such is [Gilgamesh s] destiny, everlasting life is not (70). The existence of social class and status groups has even been questioned and whether it is a positive or negative thing. This ethnography explores groups of class and how distinctions between individuals on a macro level can affect their micro level interactions in everyday life. The differences between individuals macro distribution would not have any effect if they were not illustrated in everyday micro level encounters and thus class and status groups would not be formed. The ethnographic research conducted for this analysis is of social class groups of women in a local café. For this study I visited this café three mornings in a row and observed the daily activities of the local resident s comings and goings. The first morning everything seemed to run just as a typical café would run, women gathering for brunch or morning tea, business people grabbing their coffee on their way to important meetings and the usual. On the second visit I had noticed the two same groups of women at the café sitting at the same spots they were the day before. I observed the two groups of women simultaneously and even approached them and conversed with them. They were groups of mothers, one group from the local public school in the neighbourhood and the other group from the local private school. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
