Andy Campbell s Tomato Soup Rhetorical Analysis
Andy Warhol created a silkscreen canvas in 1964 of a Campbell s condensed tomato soup can. He
uses the same fonts, colors, and sizes that have caught people s eyes when they shop. I, myself, have
never tried Campbell s tomato soup. Every time we have any type of tomato soup, my mom makes it
from diced tomatoes and adds her own ingredients. Campbell s tomato soup uses an original logo on
every can so when people see it they know what it is. Think of the McDonald s logo. Every time you
see a yellow M in a red background you think of McDonalds. Campbell s logo is a man sitting with,
from my perspective, food around him. You can also see at the bottom of most cans, what looks like
the New Orleans sign. It is like a fleer delit. To me, this is

Descriptive Essay On Apple Picking
Apple Picking Today was going exceptionally well for me. My mom said we were going apple
picking. We get there and play for a while. After a while we decide to go on the tractor. We hop onto
the back of the wagon and go riding on the short trail. When we arrive, I see rows and rows of trees
with apples hanging off of the hands of their arms. It s time to go apple picking! I think to myself
excitedly. Everyone grabs their own little baggies and are told we can only pick four five apples
otherwise we d have hundreds of apples when we finish. I follow my mom through the rows of trees
labeled Granny Smith Apples. It doesn t take me long to find some juicy looking apples. Once I finish
picking my apples, I lay them next to my mom and go find my cousins Abby and Mia to play with.
We run through the series of trees until we tire ourselves out. After a while we head back to where all
of our aunts are. Let s get some family pictures. says my aunt Naomi. We all gather around and take
one big family picture and then separate pictures. Let s get a picture with all three of you girls biting
into the same apple. exclaims our mothers. We go pick a few large sized apples and return in about
thirty seconds. My aunts position us while my mom gets the camera ready. I decide to take the first
bite out of the apple. When Abby takes the next bite, we see that there s no room for me. We discard
the apple by giving it to my mom to eat. We grab a new apple but I let Abby take the first

Development Of Building Codes Of South Korea Essay
BILD 364 Building Code Compliance
Assignment 1: Development of Building Codes
Development of Building Codes in
South Korea
Glen Stricot Tarboton
Due 23rd March 2016
Introduction
Seoul, South Korea, has grown rapidly since the Korean War of the 1950 s to become the worlds
second largest metropolitan area with over 23 million residents in 2014 (National Statistics Office ( 통
계청)). This growth has occurred economically as well, with an average GDP increase of 10 percent
between 1962 and 1994 (The World Bank). This report looks into the development of South Korean
building codes. Figure 1: Timeline of Significant Events in South Korea s Building History The 1970 s
oil crisis occurred when an oil embargo was imposed by members of the Organization of Arab
Petroleum Exporting Countries. This led to fuel shortages and high prices around the world
(History.com). Due to Korea s limited resources, it imports all of its coal, oil and natural gas. At the
time of the United States Department of Energy s report into Building Energy Codes in the Republic
of Korea, Korea was the second largest importer of coal and one of the largest for oil and natural gas.
It also reported an emission of 515 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide by the country in the year 2006
(Evans, Chon and Shui).
Early Building Standards
The first official building standard came into effect in 1977. It was a result of the 1970 s oil crisis.
This outlined the mandatory building standards of insulation thickness.

Comparing Sexuality In Stephanie Meyer And Twilight By...
If there is one thing that has not changed in the past one hundred years it is the populations love for a
thrilling, eerie story; including those about vampires. However, what has changed in the last one
hundred years is cultural appropriation and the idea of vampirism itself. So despite being written in
two entirely different centuries with two entirely different vampire etiquettes, the novels Twilight by
young adult author Stephanie Meyer and Dracula by 19th century gothic author Bram Stoker, both use
of the matter of sexuality through characters actions and to help develop the good vs. evil based plot
throughout the stories. Although there are no actual physical acts of sex done by the characters in
either of the two novels, the lust and idea of sexuality is extremely present in the characters behaviors
throughout both. In Twilight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example one of the first things Bella notices when she first sees the Cullens is their appearance, I
stared because their faces, so different, so similar, were all devastatingly, inhumanly beautiful. (Meyer
19) To most vampires this attention the Cullens receive would be ideal, however because they choose
not to feed on humans this makes it all the more difficult for them to resist. It is the physical attraction
as well as reaction Bella has towards Edward that initially brings them together, and what keeps Bella
around. She knows the risk she is taking by being with Edward and consequently being with him is
what got her involved with the evil vampire, James, which created the main conflict in the book. There
is no exception to the physical beauty of the vampires in Dracula either. It is stated several times
throughout the book that creates a longing feeling towards the monsters even though they know it

Censorship Of The World Wide Web
We live in the age of information, a world that has now been largely digitalized. The World Wide Web
is the central component of our era, as it allows people across the globe to share and receive
information in an instance. It used to take months before a letter from China could reach the U.S, now
it just takes a second with E Mail. This fast pace information processing has allowed human society to
move forward with unprecedented speed, but it also raises many concerns for government authorities.
Sharing information is a powerful tool, and too much of it will make any government nervous.
Censorship of information has had a long history throughout the world. In ancient China for example,
censorship was considered a legitimate instrument ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That is a 718% increase compared with the 757 items that Google had to remove in the six months
prior (Suter). Dorothy Chou, a senior policy analyst at Google wrote in her blog post, It s alarming not
only because free expression is at risk, but because some of these requests come from countries you
might not suspect Western democracies not typically associated with censorship. Other countries can
also send in requests to Google and ask them to take things down, but Google rarely complies with
those requests. Being a U.S based company; Google has complied with 93% of the government
requests from our own government authorities. It only complied or partially complied with only 24%
of such requests from Canada, and 44% from France (Sutter). The numbers are significantly lower,
which shows that Google is clearly under more pressure by the U.S government. Other nations like
China and Russia have completely banned Google all together.
These data suggests that the U.S government also actively monitors the World Wide Web, George
Orwell s worst nightmare. The U.S. government has even gone as far as to ask Google for data on its
users more than 31,000 times in 2012 alone. Google said that they ended up turning over at least some
data in every single case (Quain). However, some have argued that these monitoring isn t all that bad.
Censorship to some extent, as some would argue, is to

The Voyager Missions
The Voyager missions I and II were separate unmanned missions ran by the National Aeronautics and
Space Administration (NASA) in 1977. The Mariner Jupiter/Saturn was the original name of the
mission when the idea was first proposed on July 1, 1972. From the original name, the Voyager
missions were at first missions to visit the planets of Jupiter and Saturn. In the years to come, the
mission changed its name to Voyager. NASA had great plans for Voyager. They viewed it as an
exploration to explore where nothing from Earth has ever flown before. On August 20, 1977, NASA
launched Voyager I. The launched site was Cape Canaveral, Florida. Then, on September 5, 1977,
NASA launched Voyager I from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The reason behind the launching in reverse
order was that Voyager I was on a direct path to its planets and Voyager II was not. Both studied the
four big planets; Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. The Voyager missions are still going on today.

Essay On Teotihuacan
Teotihuacan is an ancient mesoamerican city in Mexico. It is called The City of Gods and has very
important civilizations in mesoamerica. The founders of the city is uncertain but archaeologists
believe it was built by the Toltec people. The city was mostly ruins by the time the Aztecs took over. It
is one of the most visited archeological spots in Mexico. The Fall of Teotihuacan was very sudden and
was believed to be invaded by the spanish.
When the Aztecs found Teotihuacan they believed that is where it all started they brought in some of
their own religion. They saw it as the place the Gods sacrificed themselves for the world to be
recreated. There are many ruins located in Teotihuacan. The Pyramid of the moon which had elevated

In class we spoke about how the aztecs performed sacrifices with human hearts to the Gods so the sun
would rise another day. Under this pyramid they found underground tunnels and rooms that were most
likely used for rituals. Gods then were fed and nourished with the sacrificed blood and flesh which
ensured the continued balance and prosperity of Aztec society. (ancient.eu) By feeding the Sun God he
would have enough power to raise the sun the next morning. Ceremonies were held in specific
pyramids usually the largest. They placed whoever they were going to sacrifice on the stone and open
their chest up right there and then and take out their heart. The heart was then placed on a stone vessel
and burned for the God. The Temple of The Feathered Serpent is the Third largest ruin and hundreds
of bodies were discovered under it. Most of the bodies found were male and buried with weapons. The
temple being built in style of a serpent was probably a burial ground for warriors who fought for

Human Restraint In Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde By Robert...
Kenned for the promotion of rigorous morality, the period between 1837 and 1901 in England is
synonymous with human restraint. The Victorian era, named after Queen Victoria s ascension to the
throne, began with the elite in control of society and its politics. Concerned with maintaining power
over their society, these hundreds of families fixated on the convivial disseverment between the upper
and lower classes; associating enlightenment with the upper class became a leading thought abaft this
disseverment, which regarded the lower class as brutal in nature. This thrust the Victorian era into a
period of human hypocrisy and emotional elimination: a cultural conception that drain into the fields
of science and religion. Robert Stevenson mimic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

To give a full representation of how other platforms utilise a crew escape system, 4 rotary wing
aircraft were chosen. These were the UH 60 Black Hawk, the CH 47 Chinook, the AH 1 Cobra and the
AW 159 Wildcat. For simplicity and to give a better comparison for the Apache AH Mk1, only the
cockpit crew escape systems have been analysed, not the cabin escape system. UH 60 BLACK
HAWK The UH 60 Black Hawk helicopter is manufactured by Sikorsky and has been in operation
since 1978. It is primarily used as a troop personnel carrier and provides a logistical capability. The
UH 60 Black Hawk has a purely manual operation of door release. It has emergency release handles
located on the inside of each of the cockpit doors. If these handles are subsequently pulled with
approximately 40 45 lbs. of force, the doors can be separated from the locating points. The door will
then be separated from the aircraft, allowing the aircrew to egress the aircraft. CH 47 CHINOOK The
CH 47 Chinook is manufactured by Boeing, and has been exported to both military and private
operators worldwide. It is primarily used as a troop and logistics transporter, as well as providing
essential medical evacuation on operations. The CH 47 Chinook emergency release handles are
located above both cockpit doors. They can be operated by either pulling or pushing the handles with
approximately 35 40 Ibs of force. Once the handles are operated the doors will simply fall out. The

National Labor Relations Act Research Paper
There are several million undocumented immigrants employed in the United States (Burton, 2015).
Even though the labor market has changed, the original National Labor Relations Act has not. The
NLRA provide legal protection to employees to not be terminated for participate in organizing a
union. NLRA created a blanket enforcement of NLBA rights equal for undocumented workers and
U.S. citizens (Zdravecky Hass, 2014). The law does not expressly detail terms who is considered an

Employment opportunities are chief reason illegal aliens come into the United States. NLBA gave
balance of protection to undocumented workers the same as U.S. citizens. Since back pay or
reinstatement is not a remedy the NLRB to correct violations, this gives employers an incentive to
violate the IRCA. The purpose of the Immigration Reform and Control Act is to make it a violation of
the law to hire an employee not authorized to work in the United States. However enforcement of this
law until recent years has not been robust. The court system or congress will need to fix these
loopholes in the current laws to close these gaps. The way the law is created at this time gives an
unfair advantage to employers who want to ignore current immigration laws. Undocumented workers
can be paid lower wages and place in unsafe working conditions without any way to find remedy for
those violations under the current law. The current law does not allow for undocumented immigrant
protection from discrimination and labor relations violations. It is an economic disadvantage for
employers to follow current immigration laws (Layne, 2011). Once the legally immigration laws are
addressed and the conflicts, there is balance based on continued employment of undocumented
workers versus legal citizens. Many times once undocumented immigrants are unemployed, they will
migrate to another location to seek employment. Since employment opportunities and avoiding

Bookstores Relational Database Design
A relational database is designed to comply with a term called normalization. Normalization is a
process of organizing tables to minimize the redundancy in the database. The design of a relational
database decreases the amount of space the database uses in a system. The relational database uses
fields to help reduce redundancy in the tables. Relational designed database use the relational value in
fields, an example would be a field for Book_ISBN and a field with Title_ISBN, could be limited to
just one field naming the ISBN (Safari).
If the book store does not have experience building a relational database they should (call an expert)
practice with sample data to identify any problems in the initial design. Once they have all the
problems worked out, the bookstore can move onto building their real database. At first a list of books
will have to be compiled. This list would contain the title of the book, the authors name, the ISBN and
category which would denote the field name for each column for the database. The domain controls
the value that can be used in each column identifying the list of books. Using the sample table will
allow the bookstore to test and create ways in which the data can be stored, manipulated and queried,
called data cleanup. An example would be how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Connection To Australian Communities

Bring the community connection back to life. In every town, in every city from the West Coast of
Tasmania to Arnhem in the Northern Territory. Every Australian is part of many broad communities.
But why would I write about bringing the Australian community back to life you may ask. Here is my
answer, I grew up in a small town on the West Coast of Tasmania, our community was strong, our
community was fun, nevertheless, we always had something to do around the town, but now that
community and many other communities have slowly died with major need of revival for Australia s
youth and families across our pristine country.
Our communities need a shakeup to give our local youth and families the best chance in life.
Currently, the communities have lost contact with the people causing fewer opportunities within local
areas and leaving Australia s youth jaded with few options to make the utmost of their childhood. I
believe it is important for communities to be in contact with each other to reconnect and create a range

What can happen to a fetus when a pregnant women drinks heavily during her pregnancy?
It can lead to permanent, irreversible and incurable effects that will bring a lifetime of pain for
both the child and the family. These permanent and unchangeable effects arise from a fetus
attaining fetal alcohol syndrome from its mother. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) is a pattern of
malformations and disabilities resulting from a pregnant woman drinking heavily during her

FAS is not necessarily the result of only
full blown alcoholism but rather it can result from drinking any amount of alcohol in excess of the
level to detoxify it thus placing the fetus at risk (Caleekal). A mother s nutritional status and
physical well being might also play roles of varying significance in determining whether an infant
is affected, and to what degree, by the prenatal exposure to alcohol (Berhow 364). The most
common effects seen is an increase in miscarriages. Babies can also be born at a low birth weight,
birth length, and with a small heads resulting from prenatal alcohol exposure. There are many
different factors that can produce birth defects from FAS. Agent (alcohol, crack, heroin) Dosage
(how much is used), Timing of Exposure (when is it used?), individual factors of mother and
child, genetic factors, nutritional factors, metabolic factors are what birth defects are dependent
on (Berhow 364).
FAS is characterized by three symptoms which affect different areas. The three areas
affected are; prenatal and/or postnatal growth retardation, Central Nervous System (CNS) and
head and facial abnormalities (Wynbrandt 208). With prenatal and postnatal growth retardation,
infants are born weighing less the average newborn and are shorter in length. The central nervous

What Is Hannah Arendt Brave
Hanna Arendt was a political philosopher and thinker whose writings and political views on a series of
radical issues and topics were not only considered controversial but also undoubtedly left an
impression in her attempt to repair a community scared by Hitler and his Nazi followers. Although her
efforts were not on a physical nature, as she obviously could not mend the wounds of all those
affected by the holocaust, but merely to right the wrong established by the Nazis by seeking justice
particularly from one man, Adolf Eichmann. Arendt, a reporter for The New Yorker, was sent to
Jerusalem to cover the trail of Eichmann. While there, Arendt tackled the issues on collective
responsibility, morals and ethics, and totalitarianism. Issues that only the brave would dare to address,
only the brave could attempt to answer.
Before any of these issues can be undertaken, a brief biography on Arendt s life would certainly be
practical. Hanna Arendt was born October 14, 1906 in Hanover, Germany in 1906 to Jewish parents.

structured diagnostic interview that was condensed into a briefer version from its original full length
edition. The M.I.N.I. was originally developed by a group of psychologists and clinicians in 1990. It
was since revised to capture revisions to various editions of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of
Mental Disorders. It is a commonly used assessment to complete structured psychiatric diagnostic
interviews. The M.I.N.I. takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and screens for various
psychiatric diagnoses. The M.I.N.I. has been reported as having reliability with a kappa of 0.88 to 1.0
and validity with kappa generally greater than 0.5 (Quimby et al., 2012). All modules within the
M.I.N.I. will be administered with the exception of the modules to assess for PTSD and suicide. The
PTSD module will not be utilized because this study will assess for PTSD with the CAPS 5. The
suicide module will not be used due to the nature of this study and the inability of this researcher to
perform ethically necessary interventions to a participant who potentially endorses suicidal ideation.
Moreover, assessment of suicidality is not necessary for the proposed

Abraham Lincoln And The Civil War
Out of the first sixteenth president, Abraham Lincoln was the first president who created foundation
about ending slaves in America via his Emancipation of Proclamation. Lincoln was also a strong
supporter for Homestead Act and The Pacific Railway Act, which became an essential law for
American economics. Furthermore, 13th Amendment was Lincoln top priority in legislation after he
was reelected as the President. President Abraham Lincoln truly became one of the greatest presidents
via these achievements. In the presidential election of 1860, Abraham Lincoln was elected to become
the 16th President and this presidential result began a civil war in America. During the election, most
of the Southern states did not vote for Abraham Lincoln because they knew that Lincoln was against
slavery, which violated Southern states constitution. In April 12, 1861, the Civil War occurred and
main reason of the war was because Lincoln believed that slavery should be banned. Lincoln s belief
showed that he thought everyone should have their freedom to live. In January 1, 1863, Lincoln
introduced Emancipation of Proclamation even though the civil war was about his banning slavery
policy and belief. The Proclamation declared that all persons held as slaves within the rebellious states
are, and henceforward shall be free (The Emancipation Proclamation). The Proclamation brought
Abraham many advantages when it first introduced. It helped the Northern States, which called Union,

Holistic Landscape Approach
Archaeologists examine ancient societies in a number of ways and scales. Each of these techniques
can reveal different things about the society under study. Of particular importance is the scale of what
is being examined. The three primary scales used are the microscale, mesoscale and macroscale.
Another important technique used by archaeologists is the holistic landscape approach .
Archaeologists examine many different things in order to better understand the societies being studied.
The smallest scale of what archaeologists study is the microscale, or the study of specific artifacts.
Artifacts provide a wide array of valuable information for archaeologists. One important type of
artifact is artwork. A good example of this is the Mesopotamian artwork displayed in the third

At this level archaeologists are examining things such as roads and networks of communities. An
example of this can be seen in Jason Ur s piece which describes the networks of paths that were
necessary to connect a city to its hinterlands which provided the food (Ur 2009). At this level
archaeologists can examine the movement of goods along trade routes, the networks between city
states and the broad strokes of widespread cultures. One method that archaeologists use at this scale is
what Jason Ur calls the holistic landscape approach . The holistic landscape approach attempts to
recognize and document the interactions between the urban centers and their hinterlands and then to
incorporate this into archaeological models (Ur 2009). This technique allows archaeologists to fill in
the map of the regions under study. This allows the archaeologists to look beyond the site in order to
understand the social and economic constructs that allowed the urban centers to survive. This gives
archaeologists a far better understanding of both the urban centers and the people who live outside

Alienation In Benjamin Franklin s IsnT Everyone A Little...
Complete success isolates a person from his fellows, but suffering makes kinsmen of us all. In a way,
people who are exotic develop faster than those who share the same attitudes towards each other and
the sense of belonging can either benefit or corrupt an individual in alienation. But, those who do not
agree with the social norms have greater impacts in the world s growth and development. Thus, people
do not need to belong in order to be successful, fulfilled members of society because outsiders see
things from a different and valuable perspective, learn to be more independent and progress farther
than others.
To begin, people do not need to belong to be successful because outsiders see things from a different,
more valuable perspective. Alienation provides the creativity one can grasp as explained in the short
story, Isn t Everyone a Little Bit Weird. In the short story, one of the framers of the United States
constitution, Benjamin Franklin, is portrayed both as a genius and as an odd man; expressing Franklin
s peculiar habits and actions. However, despite the fact of being unusual, he saw things in ways in
which other people accepted as fact. The author of Isn t Everyone a Little Bit Weird writes, It may
have been Franklin s weirdness that made him great (para. 6). Conveying the significance of acquiring
divergent habits and how success can generate prosperity and success. On the other hand, some may

The Women of Umuofia in Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart
The only women respected in Umuofia are those like Chielo, the priestess of the Oracle of the Hills
and Caves, who is removed from the pale of normalcy. Clothed in the mystic mantle of the divinity
she serves, Chielo transforms from the ordinary; she can reprimand Okonkwo and even scream curses
at him: Beware of exchanging words with Agbala [the name of the Oracle of the Hills and Caves].
Does a man speak when a God speaks? Beware! (95). Yet if Okonkwo is powerless before a goddess s
priestess, he can, at least, control his own women. So, when Nwoye s mother asks if Ikemefuna will
be staying long with them, Okonkwo bellows to her: Do what you are told woman. When did you ...

At the end of the novel, Obi Okonkwo yields to the implacable force of traditional ethos when
choosing between his mother (representing traditionalism), who threatens to kill herself if he marries
an outcast or osu, and the outcast protagonist Clara (representing the modern female). The pregnant
Clara gets an abortion and fades out of the story. But at least she is cast as an educated, financially
independent woman. She has the makings of a spirited, independent character, by virtue of her
overseas education and profession as a nurse. She can afford to do without Obi Okonkwo.
In A Man of the People, there are images of women playing traditional roles such as singers and
dancers, or women adoring rich politicians like Chief the Honorable M.A. Nanga. Mrs. Eleanor John,
a tough party woman and board member rich, independent, assertive lamentably is cast as a
semiliterate businesswoman with no noteworthy role. We see Chief Nanga s wife, a beneficiary of the
colonial, utilitarian education, dissatisfied with her husband s extramarital relationship and impending
marriage to the young Edna. Mrs. Nanga complains to Odili, but when the latter sets out to unseat her
husband, she reverts to her traditional role of helpmate fighting to retain her precarious social and
economic position. Consequently, she remains a dependent, peripheral figure, deriving validity as a

Counselling Psychotherapy And Psychodynamic Perspectives
Introduction I am developing an understanding of two of the most utilised approaches in counselling
psychotherapy. These are the person centered and psychodynamic perspectives. I seek to explore my
development and attunement to the concepts we have been introduced to by facilitating my own
learning. Also I isolate difficulties that have arisen and explain how I have overcome these obstacles.
This will aid my continual development towards becoming a helper. This piece is my own reflexive
account on my journey so far. In my development to date, and the feelings of achievement and failure
through actions of my early adolescence. Becoming a helper is a longstanding ambition of mine,
formulated by my desire to help others. My experiences over the last twenty five years, have taught
me that I am sometimes over analytical in my thoughts, overly concerned about others, I can end up
neglecting myself. Throughout this journey I have had chronic ups and downs life can harbor. I
continue to develop my own sense of self, and pursue the opportunity to guide others through their
own dialogue. Narrative of the self I recall when I was younger I was insistent on helping my mum
and dad look after my two brothers. This could be because I m the eldest of three. I am a daughter and
sister. My youngest brother was born with congenital heart disease when I was

Notes On Forex Trading Software
Forex trading software has a noble aim: to completely automate the forex trading process. It can either
produce trading signals and you make the actual trade, or the more sophisticated programs can be set
to make the trade as well. When you are trading on the stock market, you would typically choose one
or more companies and start watching their shares. You will study their financial statements. You will
listen to what other traders say about their stock value whether it s undervalued or overvalued. But
whatever you do, it is unlikely that you will ever get access to the information that can really make or
break a particular company. Things like technological changes that will make their products totally
obsolete. The forex market is somewhat different in this regard. At least theoretically it s a level
playing field. All traders have equal access to market information. What s left for the traders then is to
analyze that information, come to a trading decision and start making money. So try to comprehend
the development that took place through years. Every moment forex market constructs a new history
and hence you have to know what the recent news is and how it is influencing the price movements.
Also you should be familiar with the parties those are working on the trading like the forex brokers or
the companies selling trading signals or other relevant services. If you can comprehend these simple
requirements then understanding the functioning of automated currency

Garden cities, whether the appropriate concept in sustainable urban planning?
Introduction
It is widely acknowledged that Ebenezer Howard s Garden City stimulated many significant urban
design achievements in worldwide. Whether the theory is still suitable for sustainable urban planning
in twenty one century has been widely discussed. Some approvers argue that Howard provided the
idea of self sufficiency and limited growths still remain. However, the theory has been denounced
because it is too idealistic, difficult to implement. Therefore, this paper will first review the original
concept of Garden city, then examine legacy of the Garden Cities whether they have proved to be
successful, sustainable places. The paper is divided into three parts. In the first section, the concept of
Garden city will be first explained. In the second part, the discussion of Garden city concept will be
presented. Then, case study on modern garden city will be described at last. The study shows, the
ideas of Garden City have been widely misinterpreted, leading potential risks on environment. In
addition, to some extent, the morphological model of Garden city is not appropriate any more due to
vehicles dependency and new communication modes changed the planning concept.

Analysis Of Jean Cocteau s Version Of Beauty And The Beast
When raising children, it is necessary to understand how to navigate their questions on life in a
manner that is both appropriate for their age, yet is acceptable in their eyes in terms of an actual
answer. According to Bruno Bettelheim, fairy tales are told to children as a way to allow them to
symbolically address issues and challenges they might face. These fairy tales employ the use of
characters and plots that children can place themselves in, thus allowing them to identify with the
situation described. However, over time, some adaptions of the fairy tales differ from their subject
matter. Jean Cocteau s version of Beauty and the Beast differs from Walt Disney s version, as it retains
many of the theories that the Disney version omitted. Jean Cocteau s version and Disney s versions of
Beauty and the Beast differ in their message by changing aspects of the symbolism and characters
personalities. According to Bruno Bettleheim, children face many difficulties while growing up, and
need a way to understand all the complexities of life. However, they are also too young too be told the
unabridged truths that life holds. Bettleheim then concluded that fairy tales and other stories were able
to communicate these ideas to children through simplistic characters and situations that they could
understand. He theorized that by expressing these stories to children on the conscious level, their
unconsciousness would be able to process these stories, and allow them to understand the

Is Beauty In The Eye Of The Beholder
Imagine you are walking through the woods on a sunny fall day, during this walk there are many
things that might bring you pleasure. Along the way you might hear a bird singing, feel a rock as you
hike a path, taste cold water to replenish your thirst, and see many beautiful sights. The person you are
walking with may have a total different experience and sense things that bring pleasure to them that
may not to you. There is an old adage that says Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This adage can be
debated time and time again. The first things to look at is the definitions of beauty and beholder. The
dictionary defines beauty is a combination of qualities that pleases the aesthetic senses ( Beauty ). It
doesn t say beauty has to be seen by the eye. Beauty can be combination of our five senses. It can be
anything we can see, touch, taste, feel, or smell. The definition of beholder is a person who observes a
sense. The adage Beauty is in the eye of the beholder by definition means that each person sees beauty
and can find beauty in different things through their senses ( Beholder ). It creates a very subjective
approach to beauty. The adage is true because each person is an individual and has different
perspectives and way of sensing. The idea that what pleases one person may not please another is true
along this case because not everybody has the same preference to beauty. Beauty is subjective and can
be seen through personal experience and should give society a

Ethnic Groups in Pakistan
Since its birth, Pakistan has been home to various multi ethnic societies and groups in all its provinces.
The activities of these groups have had varying impact on the political history of Pakistan. This paper
analyses the impact of the Sindhi ethnic society (also known as the Jeeya Sindh movement ) on the
political history of Pakistan during the 1970s. I then provide a critique of the government s response to
the demands of these movements and then suggest my opinion as to how the government should have
reacted so as to have a better outcome.
At the creation of Pakistan, a large number Mohajirs migrated from India and settled in to Sindh.
From 1947 to 1951 nearly 1 million Mohajirs settled into Sindh (Rais, Rasul Buksh). They had also ...

Singh. Sukhbir ). Once these ethnic movements took shape, it took very less time for them to
transform into political parties. This had to different outcomes, groups with similar interests joined
together to become stronger parties. During this process they also learned to co operate with each
other and settle differences within themselves. The other outcome of formation of groups was that due
to difference in interests of different groups, political parties could not work together hence the
country landed into inconsistent leadership. There was also alienation due to large majority of one
community. Above all these differences in parties lead to unequal development for different groups in
fields of government jobs, education and urbanization.
The states response to the Sindhi nationalist movement has been mixed. Z.A Bhutto s introduction of
the quota system to safeguard the interests of the Sindhis in my opinion was biased as it aggravated
intra provincial ethnic divides in Pakistan. In my opinion, the government shouldn t have imposed a
quota, it instead should have aided the Sindhis in forms of educational institutions and training so that
they could compete with the Mohajirs in a fair manner. As the competition would have been fair, it
would have been unlikely for the Mohajirs to start a movement of their own.
Another main mistake by Z.A Bhutto was the introduction of Urdu as the official language in NWFP
and Balochistan after sharing power with the

Human Interrupt Water Transduction Essay Essay
Human interrupt water pathways in two ways
1. Withdrawals:
We take water out of the system to irrigate crops, to provide us with drinking water and to carry out
many of our industrial processes.
2. Discharges:
We add substances to the water intentionally or not. As precipitation falls on the ground and moves
into rivers and creeks, it picks up a whole range of pollutants. In rural areas these pollutants may
include farm pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers as well as wastes from faulty septic systems and
improperly handled manure. In urban areas, the pollutants may include gas, oil, pet waste, fertilizers,
pesticides, salt and treated human waste from sewage treatment plants.
What we do to this system affects everything within it. For example, what happens if rain that falls
from the sky or the water that flows through our streams is contaminated? These contaminants may
infect plant or animal life including human beings, or reduce their ability to grow and reproduce. What
happens if large quantities of water are diverted or taken out of the system? The reduced flow will
likely affect the local water supply but it may eventually change the local environment and alter the
plant and animal species that are found here. As we place different stresses on this system, we run the
risk of altering or overloading it and causing serious harm.
The Credit River is an important part of the watershed and the water cycle in this area. What we do
here affects us locally and

Servant Leadership In Hurricane Katrina

Failure of the local government The failure of the local government to respond to Hurricane Katrina

as 30 feet and moving toward inland and breached several levees intended to protect New Orleans
from the water of the lake. The water poured through the breaks in the days following the storm,
covering approximately 80% of the city with water as deep as three meters. The flooding, wind, and

  • 2. Andy Campbell s Tomato Soup Rhetorical Analysis Andy Warhol created a silkscreen canvas in 1964 of a Campbell s condensed tomato soup can. He uses the same fonts, colors, and sizes that have caught people s eyes when they shop. I, myself, have never tried Campbell s tomato soup. Every time we have any type of tomato soup, my mom makes it from diced tomatoes and adds her own ingredients. Campbell s tomato soup uses an original logo on every can so when people see it they know what it is. Think of the McDonald s logo. Every time you see a yellow M in a red background you think of McDonalds. Campbell s logo is a man sitting with, from my perspective, food around him. You can also see at the bottom of most cans, what looks like the New Orleans sign. It is like a fleer delit. To me, this is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Descriptive Essay On Apple Picking Apple Picking Today was going exceptionally well for me. My mom said we were going apple picking. We get there and play for a while. After a while we decide to go on the tractor. We hop onto the back of the wagon and go riding on the short trail. When we arrive, I see rows and rows of trees with apples hanging off of the hands of their arms. It s time to go apple picking! I think to myself excitedly. Everyone grabs their own little baggies and are told we can only pick four five apples otherwise we d have hundreds of apples when we finish. I follow my mom through the rows of trees labeled Granny Smith Apples. It doesn t take me long to find some juicy looking apples. Once I finish picking my apples, I lay them next to my mom and go find my cousins Abby and Mia to play with. We run through the series of trees until we tire ourselves out. After a while we head back to where all of our aunts are. Let s get some family pictures. says my aunt Naomi. We all gather around and take one big family picture and then separate pictures. Let s get a picture with all three of you girls biting into the same apple. exclaims our mothers. We go pick a few large sized apples and return in about thirty seconds. My aunts position us while my mom gets the camera ready. I decide to take the first bite out of the apple. When Abby takes the next bite, we see that there s no room for me. We discard the apple by giving it to my mom to eat. We grab a new apple but I let Abby take the first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Development Of Building Codes Of South Korea Essay BILD 364 Building Code Compliance Assignment 1: Development of Building Codes Development of Building Codes in South Korea Glen Stricot Tarboton Due 23rd March 2016 Introduction Seoul, South Korea, has grown rapidly since the Korean War of the 1950 s to become the worlds second largest metropolitan area with over 23 million residents in 2014 (National Statistics Office ( 통 계청)). This growth has occurred economically as well, with an average GDP increase of 10 percent between 1962 and 1994 (The World Bank). This report looks into the development of South Korean building codes. Figure 1: Timeline of Significant Events in South Korea s Building History The 1970 s oil crisis occurred when an oil embargo was imposed by members of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries. This led to fuel shortages and high prices around the world (History.com). Due to Korea s limited resources, it imports all of its coal, oil and natural gas. At the time of the United States Department of Energy s report into Building Energy Codes in the Republic of Korea, Korea was the second largest importer of coal and one of the largest for oil and natural gas. It also reported an emission of 515 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide by the country in the year 2006 (Evans, Chon and Shui). Early Building Standards The first official building standard came into effect in 1977. It was a result of the 1970 s oil crisis. This outlined the mandatory building standards of insulation thickness. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Comparing Sexuality In Stephanie Meyer And Twilight By... If there is one thing that has not changed in the past one hundred years it is the populations love for a thrilling, eerie story; including those about vampires. However, what has changed in the last one hundred years is cultural appropriation and the idea of vampirism itself. So despite being written in two entirely different centuries with two entirely different vampire etiquettes, the novels Twilight by young adult author Stephanie Meyer and Dracula by 19th century gothic author Bram Stoker, both use of the matter of sexuality through characters actions and to help develop the good vs. evil based plot throughout the stories. Although there are no actual physical acts of sex done by the characters in either of the two novels, the lust and idea of sexuality is extremely present in the characters behaviors throughout both. In Twilight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example one of the first things Bella notices when she first sees the Cullens is their appearance, I stared because their faces, so different, so similar, were all devastatingly, inhumanly beautiful. (Meyer 19) To most vampires this attention the Cullens receive would be ideal, however because they choose not to feed on humans this makes it all the more difficult for them to resist. It is the physical attraction as well as reaction Bella has towards Edward that initially brings them together, and what keeps Bella around. She knows the risk she is taking by being with Edward and consequently being with him is what got her involved with the evil vampire, James, which created the main conflict in the book. There is no exception to the physical beauty of the vampires in Dracula either. It is stated several times throughout the book that creates a longing feeling towards the monsters even though they know it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Censorship Of The World Wide Web We live in the age of information, a world that has now been largely digitalized. The World Wide Web is the central component of our era, as it allows people across the globe to share and receive information in an instance. It used to take months before a letter from China could reach the U.S, now it just takes a second with E Mail. This fast pace information processing has allowed human society to move forward with unprecedented speed, but it also raises many concerns for government authorities. Sharing information is a powerful tool, and too much of it will make any government nervous. Censorship of information has had a long history throughout the world. In ancient China for example, censorship was considered a legitimate instrument ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That is a 718% increase compared with the 757 items that Google had to remove in the six months prior (Suter). Dorothy Chou, a senior policy analyst at Google wrote in her blog post, It s alarming not only because free expression is at risk, but because some of these requests come from countries you might not suspect Western democracies not typically associated with censorship. Other countries can also send in requests to Google and ask them to take things down, but Google rarely complies with those requests. Being a U.S based company; Google has complied with 93% of the government requests from our own government authorities. It only complied or partially complied with only 24% of such requests from Canada, and 44% from France (Sutter). The numbers are significantly lower, which shows that Google is clearly under more pressure by the U.S government. Other nations like China and Russia have completely banned Google all together. These data suggests that the U.S government also actively monitors the World Wide Web, George Orwell s worst nightmare. The U.S. government has even gone as far as to ask Google for data on its users more than 31,000 times in 2012 alone. Google said that they ended up turning over at least some data in every single case (Quain). However, some have argued that these monitoring isn t all that bad. Censorship to some extent, as some would argue, is to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Voyager Missions The Voyager missions I and II were separate unmanned missions ran by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in 1977. The Mariner Jupiter/Saturn was the original name of the mission when the idea was first proposed on July 1, 1972. From the original name, the Voyager missions were at first missions to visit the planets of Jupiter and Saturn. In the years to come, the mission changed its name to Voyager. NASA had great plans for Voyager. They viewed it as an exploration to explore where nothing from Earth has ever flown before. On August 20, 1977, NASA launched Voyager I. The launched site was Cape Canaveral, Florida. Then, on September 5, 1977, NASA launched Voyager I from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The reason behind the launching in reverse order was that Voyager I was on a direct path to its planets and Voyager II was not. Both studied the four big planets; Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. The Voyager missions are still going on today. After forty years of space travel, they have withstood a lot. The founders of the city is uncertain but archaeologists believe it was built by the Toltec people. The city was mostly ruins by the time the Aztecs took over. It is one of the most visited archeological spots in Mexico. The Fall of Teotihuacan was very sudden and was believed to be invaded by the spanish. Under this pyramid they found underground tunnels and rooms that were most likely used for rituals. Gods then were fed and nourished with the sacrificed blood and flesh which ensured the continued balance and prosperity of Aztec society. (ancient.eu) By feeding the Sun God he would have enough power to raise the sun the next morning. Ceremonies were held in specific pyramids usually the largest. They placed whoever they were going to sacrifice on the stone and open their chest up right there and then and take out their heart. The heart was then placed on a stone vessel and burned for the God. The Temple of The Feathered Serpent is the Third largest ruin and hundreds of bodies were discovered under it. • 11. Human Restraint In Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde By Robert... Kenned for the promotion of rigorous morality, the period between 1837 and 1901 in England is synonymous with human restraint. The Victorian era, named after Queen Victoria s ascension to the throne, began with the elite in control of society and its politics. Normalization is a process of organizing tables to minimize the redundancy in the database. The design of a relational database decreases the amount of space the database uses in a system. Analysis Of Jean Cocteau s Version Of Beauty And The Beast When raising children, it is necessary to understand how to navigate their questions on life in a manner that is both appropriate for their age, yet is acceptable in their eyes in terms of an actual answer. According to Bruno Bettelheim, fairy tales are told to children as a way to allow them to symbolically address issues and challenges they might face. These fairy tales employ the use of characters and plots that children can place themselves in, thus allowing them to identify with the situation described. However, over time, some adaptions of the fairy tales differ from their subject matter. Jean Cocteau s version of Beauty and the Beast differs from Walt Disney s version, as it retains many of the theories that the Disney version omitted. Jean Cocteau s version and Disney s versions of Beauty and the Beast differ in their message by changing aspects of the symbolism and characters personalities. According to Bruno Bettleheim, children face many difficulties while growing up, and need a way to understand all the complexities of life. However, they are also too young too be told the unabridged truths that life holds. Bettleheim then concluded that fairy tales and other stories were able to communicate these ideas to children through simplistic characters and situations that they could understand. Along the way you might hear a bird singing, feel a rock as you hike a path, taste cold water to replenish your thirst, and see many beautiful sights. The person you are walking with may have a total different experience and sense things that bring pleasure to them that may not to you. There is an old adage that says Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This adage can be debated time and time again. The first things to look at is the definitions of beauty and beholder. The dictionary defines beauty is a combination of qualities that pleases the aesthetic senses ( Beauty ). It doesn t say beauty has to be seen by the eye. Beauty can be combination of our five senses. It can be anything we can see, touch, taste, feel, or smell. The definition of beholder is a person who observes a sense. The adage Beauty is in the eye of the beholder by definition means that each person sees beauty and can find beauty in different things through their senses ( Beholder ). It creates a very subjective approach to beauty. The adage is true because each person is an individual and has different perspectives and way of sensing. The idea that what pleases one person may not please another is true along this case because not everybody has the same preference to beauty. The other outcome of formation of groups was that due to difference in interests of different groups, political parties could not work together hence the country landed into inconsistent leadership. There was also alienation due to large majority of one community. Above all these differences in parties lead to unequal development for different groups in fields of government jobs, education and urbanization. The states response to the Sindhi nationalist movement has been mixed. Z.A Bhutto s introduction of the quota system to safeguard the interests of the Sindhis in my opinion was biased as it aggravated intra provincial ethnic divides in Pakistan.
