Net Neutrality: There has been a recent push by the government to limit the freedom of the internet
which could affect streaming services. In a nutshell, net neutrality is the idea that all Internet traffic
should be treated equally and that internet providers like Comcast, AT&T and Verizon can't be
allowed to play favorites based on business deals. Specifically, they can't block or slow down some
websites and services but not others (forcing sites to pay extra to not have that happen to them). It's

Ajit Pai, the current chairman of the FCC, is a former employee of Verizon Wireless. Verizon is one
of the major internet service providers which would greatly benefit from net neutrality being
abolished. Many questions have been raised concerning Pai's past connections with Verizon, and a
numerous amount of individuals believe that this is why Pai is pushing an end to net neutrality.
Companies like eBay and Amazon will be required to pay more money to the major internet service
providers in order to receive faster data speeds and better user efficiency. This would eventually lead
to consumers having to pay more money for their performed endeavors online. The internet service
providers would also have the potential to bundle websites into packages. Consumers would then
have to purchase these packages in order to access specific websites. This is extremely similar to

Data discrimination can be described as, "the selective filtering of information by a service

Restoring Net Neutrality is an issue because the world wide net should be open to everyone for their
free speech. It is also important to small businesses who would have to pay what is basically a

Here, they attempt to draw a comparison between data stream across the internet and Oreos you

Before this assignment I had no idea what net neutrality was, I'm embarrassed to write that
confession. "Net Neutrality is the assurance that access to the Web and its content will not be
blocked, slowed down, or sped up depending on where that access is based or who owns the access
