So far, 49 volunteer specialists have provided support through practical demonstrations and training to over 4,873 people on topics including maize agronomy, post-harvest handling, compost preparation, and vegetable production.

This presentation is made by Business with Impact Co-creation at India Agriculture Team. The Journey was organized by TEKES and Drishtee in collaboration with Team Finland partners.
The journey begins (20.3 - 24.3.2014) with field research in Bihar and continued with a networking event (25.3.2014). High level reception & workshop was held in Embassy of Finland, New Delhi on (26.3.2014) which offered us an opportunity to present the achieved results and to discuss with companies and representatives of ministries and other governmental actors about the development needs, delivery of scalable solutions and business creation.
This journey was a great way to explore new business opportunities and pilot affordable solutions in one of the largest rural supply chains and piloting platforms in India.
The areas of future development are abundant covering agriculture, textile manufacturing, aqua culture, energy, housing, water, sanitation, health, education and entrepreneurial training.
Looking forward for your new ideas, solutions and co-operation to continue this journey!
Revitalizing Indian Agriculture Extension System through promotion of AEFCs 1...
The current Indian agriculture extension system focuses on increasing productivity but is not addressing farmers' needs for profitable commercial farming and business opportunities. A new model called Agriculture Enterprise Facilitation Centres (AEFC) is proposed to revitalize the extension system. AEFCs would be led by local civil society organizations at the block level and focus on providing business development services to small farmers. They would work to maximize the value of specific agriculture value chains at the village level through newly created roles of Agriculture Enterprise Facilitators placed in villages. This new model aims to transform the extension system's focus to farming as an enterprise and better support farmers as entrepreneurs seeking profitable activities.
SIANI Annual Meeting 2022: Agri-Gold Mixed Farm
This document presents a proposal for an organic farm called Agri-Gold Mixed Farm. It notes a growing demand for organic fruits and vegetables in the local market that is not being met. Specifically, the project seeks to: 1) identify low aphid and bacterial sites for quality potato seed production through a baseline survey; 2) study seed degeneration for policymakers; and 3) increase farmers' incomes by over 40% by reducing seed costs and boosting productivity through improved technologies and capacity building. The project expects to meet 30-40% of the seed requirements of 10,000 farm families locally by 2017 and expand potato cultivation to non-traditional areas.

The Tanzania Agriculture Productivity Program (TAPP) aims to increase smallholder farmer incomes and food security through improved productivity and marketing. TAPP works with over 25,000 smallholder farmers growing various horticultural crops. While women play a large role in agriculture, they face challenges like less free time than men, less access to and control over resources, and lack of entrepreneurship skills. TAPP's gender mainstreaming strategy focuses on increasing women's participation through gender-sensitive training, introducing labor-saving practices, and improving access to inputs and business skills to address challenges facing women farmers. TAPP monitors and evaluates the impact of its gender activities using a proprietary system to track results.

ICRAF: Soil-plant spectral diagnostics laboratory
The ICRAF Soil-Plant Spectral Diagnostics Laboratory in Kenya operates 1 spectral reference laboratory and provides technical support to 30 labs in 17 countries. It has helped build capacities for private mobile testing services and is working on developing handheld near-infrared spectrometers. The lab specializes in customized solutions, standard operating procedures, project planning, soil and plant health monitoring, and spectral technology support and training. It aims to improve end-to-end spectral advisory software and develop low-cost handheld devices. Through GLOSOLAN, the lab hopes to standardize dry spectroscopy methods, protocols, and data analysis globally.

Item 7: Progress made in Nepal
- Nepal has been working to systematically classify its soils since 1957, completing surveys of 55 districts by 1983, though some high hill districts remained unsurveyed for a long time.
- In 1998 and 2014, soil maps of Nepal were prepared using the USDA and WRB soil classification systems, respectively. Around 6000 soil profiles were studied from five physiographic regions.
- The data from 158 representative soil profiles were analyzed and converted to fit the HWSD format using formulas from Batjes et al. 2017 to standardize the data into layers from 0-30 cm and 30-100 cm.
- Major soils identified include Calcaric Fluvisols, Eutric Gleysols, Calcaric Ph

How to Manage Reception Report in Odoo 17
A business may deal with both sales and purchases occasionally. They buy things from vendors and then sell them to their customers. Such dealings can be confusing at times. Because multiple clients may inquire about the same product at the same time, after purchasing those products, customers must be assigned to them. Odoo has a tool called Reception Report that can be used to complete this assignment. By enabling this, a reception report comes automatically after confirming a receipt, from which we can assign products to orders.

National Experiences - Small-Scale farmers transitioning to agroecology: improving livelihoods
- 1. Small-Scale farmers transitioning to agroecology: improving livelihoods KASISI AGRICULTURAL TRAINING CENTRE ZAMBIA
- 3. • KATC is a FBO farmer training centre owned by the Society of Jesus • KATC is located 30 km from Lusaka, Zambia’s capital • KATC borders unto commercial farms on its western boundary and small-scale farmers on its eastern boundary
- 4. • KATC offers trainings in 17 courses all based on the principles of organic farming • Participants include small-scale farmers (ssfs), government extension officers, field staff of NGOs and teachers • Residential courses are mainly 5 days duration • KATC also does extension, commercial production, value addition, research and lobbying and advocacy and projects
- 8. • I will concentrate my presentation on a Finnish government sponsored project • 100 ssfs are growing vegetables organically on 12.5 hectares under a centre pivot irrigation system • Each plot is 30 X 40 metres
- 10. • Participants include 58 female farmers and 42 male farmers • 60 are youth of which 38 are females • They come from within 5 km distance of KATC
- 13. • The project is set up as a business model • The participants pay the salaries of 2 staff members, compost, seed, electricity
- 14. Key impacts in contributing to SDGs • End poverty • End hunger • Healthy lives • Women are empowered • Sustainable economic growth, productive employment & decent work • Sustainable consumption and production • Combat climate change
- 15. Key impacts in contributing to SDGs • Reverse land degradation & halt biodiversity loss • Promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all • Promote sustainable industrialization • Revitalize global partnerships for sustainable development
- 19. Why did the initiative work? Enabling Factors • Water available for year round irrigation • Practical experience in growing vegetables organically • Farmers willing to participate in the experiment • Good market for fresh vegetables • Good roads, electricity, backup service for the centre pivot • Manure available in sufficient quantities • Infrastructure – centre pivot, land, water, knowledgeable staff • A trusting donor to fund the initial training of farmers
- 20. Constraints • The 1st field staff that was employed was not sufficiently knowledgeable about organic vegetable production • Farmers only wanted chicken manure compost • FISP • Unavailability of organic/untreated seed • Inadequate funding to upscale the practices & principles of Agroecology
