This document summarizes strategies for scaling up the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method in Bihar, India. Broad strategies included awareness building in communities using audiovisual materials and workshops. SRI was demonstrated and villagers were involved in crop growth. Exposure visits were conducted for stakeholders. Scaling up strategies involved village organizations and self-help groups supporting groups of village resource persons to train farmers. Government extension officers and research institutions were engaged at all levels. Monitoring and evaluations involved visits by high-level officials. The approach showed potential for applying SRI to other crops like wheat, vegetables, and rapeseed. Major stakeholders supporting the success included government agriculture departments, non-profits, and farmers' groups.
